In episode 5 our host Mark Klemens and his guests show us that the world as we knew it may be on hold but life is moving ahead at SSCBC with the formation of the Next Generation Committee and the appointment of new Club Captain Tim Collett. Mark also catches up with Dr Kathy Yu, Chief Medical Officer for the Australian Sailing Team. First up Mark talks to Jack Abbott who is Chair of the newly formed Next Gen committee. Jack started sailing at SSCBC as a child and has literally grown up at the Club, it's a great conversation about learning to sail and the intergenerational friendships and opportunities life at the Club provides. The Next Gen Committee is an exciting addition to SSCBC. Following on with a great catch up with Tim Collett who is keenly taking on the Club Captain role, it's great to hear some of Tim's sailing background and to hear about the sailing calendar in Covid times. And to finish Dr Kathy Yu talks all things medical related to the Australian Sailing Team, an interesting conversation covering a range of topics from minor injury to serious concussion and the mental health toll Covid has taken on athletes preparing for the Olympics.
