it's been a minute.

I'm meant I'm dropping content late this week, supposed to
be putting it out on Wednesdays. Just get out in
front of Thursday Night football. Have my picks in before,
so it seems legit.

You know what, it happens. It happens.

You ever had that point in life where you know,
somebody asks you how you're doing, and all you can
say is it could be worse.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
I'm doing pretty good.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Well, I've learned recently I need to stop saying saying
it can be worse, because it continues to get worse.
Every time I think I've gotten over a hurdle, ten
more hurtles present themselves. Life is funny that way. It
keeps it interesting. But yeah, it's been a twenty twenty

five since rebranding this year in January from Real Deal
Sports Talk with KP to the Sideline Shuffle. It has
been a crazy, crazy year to this point with all
the things I've had going on, and I haven't been
able to dedicate myself to the show the way I
used to I am looking forward to getting back into that.

I talked about it on the show many times. I
still have not been able to get the first video
content up on YouTube.

Have something in this calendar year. So if that's something
I have to pursue in twenty twenty six, I'm okay
with that. It's not something that's off of my radar
by any means. In fact, this whole week, I've hey,

So here we are, it's Friday, it's the end of
the week. I appreciate you listening. Let's talk a little
bit of sport. Let's start, And this story hasn't been
talked about much of this week, like it was all
over the place social media and everything when it first
dropped last weekend of Mark Sanchez and this being stabbed,
and it was like, oh my goodness, what happened to

Mark Sanchez.

Then it comes out that he's being.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Charged with felonies it's part of his own stabbing. Then
we get testa not testimony, we get more witness reports
of the sixty nine year old delivery guy that apparently
in Mark Sanchez, while inebriated or intoxicated, attacked this man.
This man may have sprayed him with fair spray and

then ended up stabbing him what he claims is self defense.
Mark Sanchez is in the hospital. He gets arrested as
he's released from the hospital.

Are you kidding me?

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Like you wanted to not be the butt fumble guy
so bad that you act like this around fellow people,
that you get intoxicated and go after apparently delivery drivers
in an aggressive fashion like this is not a good look.
I understand why Fox is not gonna have you on

the air. It makes perfect sense. Unless you come out
clean on this one as the victim, you're done.

The butt fumble guy who eventually attacked an old man,
got himself stabbed and arrested for the same thing. It's ridiculous.
You're in town to come for a game. You're in
town to get paid a lot of money for what
people like me would love to be doing, get into

talk about sports and get paid enough to live off
of and you go and act like this, get yourself injured,
injured somebody else and quite possibly throw that opportunity away
for what Because you didn't like his attitude, because you

Why was that worth it? Why was that the decision
in that moment? And please don't come back with well,
I was under the influence. I wasn't in my right mind,
because that's that's just nonsense. That's not true. I've been unebriated.

Do you sometimes make decisions you wouldn't sure? But that's
not with This was not from the information I've seen
this week, which we've stopped talking about because of the
political world once again, and they're trying very hard to
make me start talking politics on the show again. I'm
refraining for now, but I don't know how much longer

in the world outside of sports and shuffle into that
world once again.

I got a lot of reactions to last week's games.
I know this week is already kicked off, right. We
already saw Thursday Night football that Giants just bully the
Eagles last night put up thirty four, doubled them thirty
four to seventeen. Scataboo Dark. Two rookies out there just
doing their damn things. Scattaboo looked like a little Mike

He might not last long with the way that they're
running in and the way he's willing to run, but
it's gonna be fun to watch him.

He's not out there overthinking. He's just playing. And when
guys just play, it's fun. You can tell he's just playing.
My biggest reaction coming out of last weekend of Week
five is coaching.

Matters in the NFL.

You look what Kyle Shanahan was able to do with
San Francisco against LA coaching one night game. LA was
the healthier team. LA had a better roster because of
their health. That night, Kyle Shanahan out coached Sean McVay.
Sean Payton out coached Denver Broncos beat Philadelphia. Denver Broncos

might have broken Philadelphia for a couple of weeks. Sean
Payton was a better coach in that game. Philadelphia once
again had the most.

Talent, the more talented roster.

He couldn't run the ball. They couldn't stop anybody. I
know it was close, I know they had to lead,
but that was a hell of a coaching job by
Sean Payton. Zach Taylor in Cincinnati. Yes he lost to
the Lions, but down two weeks in a row twenty

eight to three, to make it a game in the
fourth quarter, to not lose that team in that game
against a team like Detroit, to not let it be
like a forty point game and let that just completely
get away from you, that was a hell of a
coaching job. I was impressed with what Zach Taylor did.
A grit that he showed to steal something from Dan

Campbell there. That team's not gonna give up. They're not
going to rumble, They're not gonna be very good, but
they're in it right. You're gonna have to beat them,
is what they showed against Detroit. Mike Rabel did a

great coaching job as they beat the Bills. Demigo Ryans
did a great coaching job going into Baltimore with a
Houston team that has not been playing very well and
had them squash the Ravens and Baltimore, we have a problem.

I know you're dealing with a ton of injuries. Been there,
seen that, done that, rode the rod next man. A
mentality must not be working. Something in that defensive room
is not working. This is not the Baltimore Ravens defense.

League, give up what more than thirty five points three
weeks in the row. Our boss saying he's sticking with

He's not thinking Gino Smith for the Raiders. He's thinking
too much in my opinion, because of Chip Kelly's system,
because of Chip Kelly's play calling, and Geno's not in

like he did in Seattle, where he had his best years.
He just got to go and play and he wasn't
overthinking things. Chip Kelly Kelly fizzled out in the NFL
for the first time for a reason. His style works
a lot better at the collegiate level, when all they

Got to shout out me me. Nick Times loved her
post do fall for the Jags win over the Chiefs
as Trevor Lawrence falls not once but twice, gets up, scrambles,

for a touchdown to take the lead, upsetting Kansas City
once again. Losing a one score game this year or
last year. I think there was something ridiculous like eleven
in them. Chris Jones, no hustle on the final play,

no accountability for it. This week, he just called it
a few flute play. Look, just say it. You thought
he was going to be down, You didn't think he
was going to get around the edge.

And by the time he was, it was too late.

last year, had a pretty good year, decent year, not
All Pro, not Pro Bowl, but solid year. Once again,
they do bring in a lot this week, I think
is how you say his name. Cincinnati needed a QB
after that game. Browning was not gonna cut it. So

somehow they get Cleveland in division to track them. Joe Flacco,
who will start this week against Green Bay, already beat
Green Bay for Cleveland. Now he gets to play him
with Cincinnati, but in division, I mean, that's your old club,

that's Cleveland saying we're not worried about you.

We have to play again this season, We're not worried
about that.

Yes, go play for our division rival. So if I'm
flat for that kind of fuels me a little bit.
Right I already got some confidence about to beat Green Bay.
Now I've got Higgins on one side and Chase on
the other, Like, are feeling good if I'm flat though

And then the thing with the door not being named
QB two until the end of the week, Really, Billy
Zappy was gonna be your QB two. You drafted these
two guys just to keep them around. I mean you're
already putting Dylan Gabriel in above him, which surprises everybody
who watched.

So maybe skills aren't transferring. Maybe this is a humbling lesson.
I don't know what's going on there with Shador in Cleveland,
but it's an interesting saga to be watching.

Other thing that came out last week.

I don't know if you guys saw this or not,
but the NFL is going to be starting a professional
flag football league for both men and women, kind of
in preparation for the Olympics in twenty twenty eight. That's
to be starting sometime, if I read correctly, in twenty
twenty six, These professional flag football leagues are going to start.
So that's that's going to be fun. They might get

better airtime, honestly than the UFL has been getting. All right,
So that's my reaction to things from last week. We
all saw, like I said, the Giants go out and
bully the Eagles last night. We know Lane Johnson has
come out and said we need to not be so predictable,
and they were like that offense is completely grounded without
Kellen Moore.

They've got to figure it out.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
I know Dickerson's been hurt, but to not be able
to run the ball on a team that had a
two thousand yard rusher last season with four of the
other five guys still there, something's not right in the
play calling. You have a two thousand yard back in

Saquon Barkley and he's getting stopped at the line of
scrimmage most of the time. You've all of a sudden,
in the last couple of weeks since the Denver game,
wanted to.

Throw the ball a lot more.

To get these receivers involved.

One of those two things.

Either the passing game needs to set up the running
game or the running game needs to set up the
passing game. But what you're doing now doesn't work, and
it's not gonna make you defend your title.

You're gonna get somebody's best. You're the champion, You've got
the ring. You can't come out on a field like that.
So we've got some buys this week. Minnesota's on a
bye that Houston has a buye, so two buys this week.

I do think the Rams, coming off the loss to
San Francisco and that as Baltimore has been playing, I'll
take the Rams in this game. I'll take Matthew Stafford
and Poka Nakua and Williams to go out there and
do their thing and hang thirty on this Baltimore defense.

I'll take that defense in LA to stop Baltimore's offense.

Could it be a shootout.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Possibly Lamar plays and he's looking good. Maybe this is
up both team high scoring. Lamar's an X factor, but
I'll take the Rams. I think Seattle beats Jacksonville in Jacksonville.
That was a nice statement win for you not gonna lie.

I'm surprised you're four and one. If you're not a
Jacksonville fan, I doubt you had them at four and one.
I like the way Seattle's play. I think they're a
little bit better of a team. I'm really impressed with
Jacksonville's defense. Don't get me wrong. They turn the ball
over like crazy and that's a fun defense to watch.

But I'm not there with Trevor Lawrence right now, and
I think Seattle can play their style of ball and
it's gonna be a nice matchup that I think they
come out on the victor on. I think Tampa Bay
beat San Francisco this week. I think Detroit is going
to go into Kansas City and win. Could Kansas City

win easily, but I think Detroit right now they're in
a headspace. Kansas City is struggling in these one score games.
This very easily could be a one score game on
Sunday Night. I'm just feeling Detroit right now. I had
them preseason. I said they are a ten and seven

to a thirteen and four four team because of their schedule.
I did not have them at four and one through
this point in the season, but.

Joe Burrow goes down, we get one at Baltimore. Didn't
think we would lose to green Bay. That's the one
that got us. We've improved each week since then in
some phase. Not all three phases have come together for
Detroit in my opinions, just yet, I do think we

get to w I think green Bay beat Cincinnati.

I love to see Cincinnati get the win this week. Sure,
knock off the opponents in the division, make it easy
for Detroit to get to the playoffs. But I think
green Bay is the better team at this point in
the season, based on health, based on coming off of

saw Joe Flacco two weeks ago.

I'm going to take Dallas to go into Carolina and
when this week I had Philadelphia beating the Giants, so
got that one wrong. I'll take Washington as well to
beat Chicago this week. I think Washington's starting to get
a little bit better. They're starting to get a little
bit healthier, They're finding their groove a little bit, and

we might see a resurgence of what we saw with
Washington last year. As we go into the second half
of the season here in a couple of weeks, I'll
take Cleveland to beat Pittsburgh. I think Buffalo rebounds and
beats Atlanta this week. I do think New England keeps
it rolling and beats New Orleans this week. I think

Denver on Sunday morning from overseas will beat the Jets,
although again, if I were to pick an upset, it
would probably be that one. Like a big upset would
probably be the Jets beating Denver since the Debts are
zero and five, only winless team left in the NFL

(21:19):
right now, but I'll take Denver to win. I think
Vegas beats Tennessee. Tennessee's not very good. I know Vegas
has been struggling, but I think they're a little bit
better than Tennessee, although Tennessee is starting to believe. I
think the Chargers going to Miami and win. And I

think Indianapolis is going to beat Arizona. Arizona's gonna come
to down and they won't lose it the way they
did last week. Right, They're not going to fumble it
away and do all of that weird cartoony stuff that
happened to him last week. But Indianapolis is the better team.

Indianapolis at this end of this week, based on my pick,
will be five and one on the season.

That's as crazy as Texas and Penn State not being
in the top twenty five in college football. Texas jumped
back into the top twenty five Sparkesian and arch can
figure out how to beat Oklahoma on Saturday, but Penn
State and Texas out of the top twenty five. Somebody

Major League Baseball playoffs are going on. Bad day for
Philly fans. Man, nobody ever feels bad for Philly fans,
but really, the Eagles go out and get destroyed on
the same night that Philly gets eliminated by the Dodgers.

As your pitcher tries to throw home instead of to
first in the eleventh inning to the force out the
easier play with the catcher pointing at first, and you
throw it wide and lose the game, knocking you out
of the playoffs. Tough, tough Thursday for Philadelphia sports fans.

Somebody check on the Flyers. Philadelphia fans might be rooting
for Pittsburgh. Soon you got the Tigers and Mariners. They're
getting ready to kick off here any minute in the
game five, deciding game there for their division series winner
goes on to face the Blue Jays, who knocked out

the Yankees.

In four games, just handled them, just worked.

Them, same record. At the end of the regular season,
blue Jays get the first overall seeding because of tiebreaker.

So they're sitting there waiting for the Tigers and Mariners.
I think earlier this season I thought it might be
the Tigers, might Blue Blue Jays, you know, pick some
of those teams that were front runners, not gonna lie.
But I was looking at who was there, and I
was like, well, probably gonna be the Tigers of the
Blue Jays, and I'd have to go back and listen
to the show.

Other teams, maybe the Red Sox and the Yankees I
included as well.

I didn't have the Mariners in there. I know that.

I know I talked about the Astros probably on that
episode about how they make the playoffs. They're a pretty
good playoff team. But I didn't have the Mariners they
wouldn't night. They're in the league championship.

The Dodgers beat the Phillies, so they're awaiting the winner
of the Cubs Brewers series. That game will be tomorrow,
so Dodgers get a little bit.

Of rest there. Such the World Series is that fun?

The Baseball playoffs Major League plaoffs are World Series and
set yet excuse me, don't get at me, Baseball fan.
WM playoffs have been great. Asia and Jakie Wilson are
phenomenal for Vegas right now. This is a team that
was five hundred going into the final fifteen games of
the season and they're one win away now from having

the third title in four years. As well as Phoenix
has been playing, I'm a little surprised that this hasn't
been a back and forth right.

Phoenix almost made the big comeback last night. Down fifteen
or something going into fourth quarter, fourteen fifteen, sixteen points
going into the fourth quarter.

They talk to Bonner, what you gotta do.

She's like, we just got to play together, we gotta
do and then Bonner goes out, balls out, drives the
energy at the beginning of the fourth quarter, brings them
all the way back like that was a great game
last night, bad for Vegas. They almost lost it. They
had the big lead, Asia Wilson gets the bucket at
the buzzer. Basically, what point three seconds? And now, mind you,

I guess Barnard did almost make that last shot, that
little circus twisting shot with point three left? Would It's
sent it into overtime. So you got a game four
coming up. This is the only best of seven in
the WNBA playoffs. If you haven't watched, watch this. This

could be the elimination game, This could be the championship game.
This could change your life, This could change your daughter's life.
Tune this one in. Put some respect on these women's name,
unlike their convention. Kathy Ngelbert tough position.

I don't know the role. I don't know if she's
dealing with. I don't know the political pressures, the business pressures,
what investors are doing, what the TV deals look. I
don't know those things. But I know these things that
are coming out the way the players feel that matters.
I know the cya and backtracking and empty promises and

dismissals with what the players are saying in and around
what you're doing and having interactions with them is not
a good look. I know you're trying to protect your
job and at the same time protect the league. I
know you might have been taking out of context. Might
I doubt it, but there's a possibility you were taking

out of context with some of your comments, thinking they
were in jest and that these are private comments with
you know, just another human being who happens to be.

The player in the league you represent.

But it also seems like if that's the case, you
should know your audience a little better and know what
you should or should not be saying, and that you
can't treat them like friends in a business setting and
just open your mouth and say stuff.

the players are doing, which is great because it's it's

have comments that directly connect to this story after winning,
and I know we're going to hear about it in
