Speaker 1 (00:15):
Welcome back to the Sideline Shuffle.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
This is going to be our draft reaction show, my
draft reaction show.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
There's no plural, it's just me.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Thanks for listening to your boy KP on the Sideline Show.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
So it's been a week.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
We've all had time to hear the prognosticators and experts
and the people on the different networks break down the
draft and tell you what the teams did right and
tell you what the teams did wrong. We've all had
our ups and our downs as we've thought about the
draft and question things, and maybe some of us even

(00:55):
decided to throw things at the TV or the ground
or yell and displeasure on what happened on draft Day.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Maybe we saw teams.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
That gave away most of their picks and took more
picks than they started with, like the Houston Texas. Maybe
we had some new experiences, Maybe we had some some
nostalgia moments. And I've gone back and I've looked at
the picks, and I've come and put together who I

(01:27):
think have the best drafts based on division, conference, and
then overall in the league. I have some most embarrassing drafts.
Two teams to me, drastically stick out. There was the
conspiracy theory that lasted until Round five pick.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
So for me, I look forward to the draft.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
It's not the super Bowl, it's not a game on Sunday,
it's not Thursday night, it's not Monday night. But what
it is, it's that new beginning. Right, we know, free
agency is exciting. It's like opening up Christmas presents. Right,
you run downstairs, ooh, free agency, what did we get?

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Right?

Speaker 2 (02:11):
It's given that big birthday list to everybody you know,
and then you can't anticipate and wait to open those
gifts to see what on that list you got. The
excitement is bubbling. That's free agency. The draft is the future.
The draft is how you're building that team. The draft

(02:32):
is what direction are we going. The draft is a
lot of what falls to you and how good your
scouting department is, and are you doing your film work?
Because numbers can lie. Right, if you take a guy
just because he's fast.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Numbers are gonna lie to you. If you take a
guy just because.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
He had the most targets, numbers could lie to you.
You've got to go and do the homework. You've got
to look at the tape because, as I've said many
times before one you can't get ready to play football
by not playing football. So the powerlifting and track, to me,
is why we have so many preseason injuries and early
season injuries, especially to legs, because you're not used to

(03:18):
taking that abuse anymore. You've become these specialized athletes who
play the game of football, who play this physical game,
but you're not really ready to play it until weeks
into the regular season because we no longer prepare that way.
So with the draft, look we know, are we drafting
maybe depth, are we making splashes, are we making that

(03:41):
big trade?

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Are we trying to turn things around in some way?

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Are we targeting that one player that everybody has said,
this is the guy again that rebuilding that that future,
right having faith in that future that doesn't exist, as
Doughci said, So I enjoy the draft from that level.

(04:08):
I enjoy watching every pick. I enjoyed trying to get
into the psyche of what these teams are doing. What
were they thinking when they made this pick. Do I
agree with that pick? Doesn't Obviously it doesn't matter if
I agree with the pick. It's more of a thought
process that I go through as I watched this, as

(04:28):
I think about how these moves are going to play out.
Which of these guys would I have taken to swing on.
And there was some new stuff this year, you know,
Peter Schreger being on ESPN.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
That was new. I enjoyed it.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
It was a little awkward at first with him and
Adam Schefter sitting next to each other. They don't quite
have that chemistry yet. There probably is a little bit
of rivalry between those two from being on different networks
for so long. But I like seeing Shreger there. I
like that he gave props to everybody who came before

(05:05):
him and to the guys that were on the set,
and just thanked everybody, and you know, was glad to be.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
A part of everything.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
I loved seeing them bring out the pumpkin pie and
this time the orange crushed as well. Now I'm not
doing pumpkin pie the way mel Kiper does. Put a
little bit of whip cream and then take a bite
and a little bit of whip cream and take a
bite and don't.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Eat any of the crust.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
Just eat a can of pumpkin pie filling at that point.
Just be a fat kid, mal be the fat kid.
Just eat it out of the can squeeze the cool
whip straight into your mouth, or be a big boy
and eat.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
It like a pie.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Now, I still I loved seeing that, Right, That's something
we've become accustomed to. That's tradition, that's part of it.
I hoph Male's done with the draft and no longer
working with ESPN, they find a way to still incorporate
the pumpkin pie into the ending of the draft. I
don't know about you, but one thing that we see

(06:05):
each and every year, just like mel Copper's pie, are
all of these mock drafts that are out there.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
And how bad all of us, including.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
The experts, the people who get paid to make the calls,
have the connections or talking discouts are talking to gms,
how bad they get them wrong?

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Now I get it.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
There were some picks up at the top of the draft,
primarily that it went just how everybody thought, at least
the order of the players or the grouping of the players.
Jacksonville jumping up to two I hadn't seen mocked. I
hadn't seen that as a potential trade. I hadn't seen
them jumping up to get Travis Hunter, the two way player,

(06:49):
and saying, yes, we are going to utilize him as
a two way player, although I did catch that they
said they're gonna primarily use him in an offense and
then figure out how to get him into the defensive room.
So personally, I would have done that different. But I
didn't see that mocked anywhere. I didn't see any rumors
of Jacksonville jumping to two. It was completely a shock

(07:12):
from what I can tell from the coverage, the way
it was spun, the way it was delivered to us,
that Jacksonville jumped up there from five to two. So
the build up, all the excitement, I see it.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
I follow it.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
We all do ooh, this player, ooh, this player's never
been mocked there? Why would my team go after this guy?
These guys always.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
Mock my team wrong.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
And then you get some excitement because that one guy
puts out a mock and it's like, ooh that player, Yeah,
that player is going to put my team over the top.
I think if you follow the mocks in that way,
you end up just being let down. So the mocks
to me are kind of like a comedy sketch, right,
They're kind of like the satire irony. There's so much misinformation,

(08:04):
and I get like, who is it? Peter Schreger even
is one of the most accurate guys over the last
five years or whatever of picking the first round. Sometimes
you just get lucky, right. There's also a reason he
probably puts his out closer to the draft and not
starting in January, more reliable information by that point. And

(08:32):
I don't know sitting there live. I've done this just
about every year. You guys know this. I champion for
the Detroit Lions. That's my team. I always will and
I often question not only the people who mock the
players to us, but then I question on draft day,
draft night one, two, all day on Draft Day three,
what are we doing? And I'm trying to make sense.

(08:56):
I'm trying to get in Brad Holmes's head and just
what are we doing? How does this player fit? How
does this make us better? How does this put us
in a better position, even if not a better record
than last year, a better position than last year to
move forward injuries are not and be a super Bowl
contender again. And I often am left question and then

(09:18):
in the Brad Holmes era, I've often gone, oh, that's
why they took those guys. So I'm very in tune
to the fact that I am not smarter than the
NFL scouts. I am not smarter than any team, even
the teams who had bad drafts. In any of our
opinions that spend day in and day out, sixty seventy

(09:40):
hours a week going through tape, traveling around, having conversations,
talking to coaches, talking to players, compiling dossier's, have opinions.
I know what I'd like to see, I know the
type of player I like.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
That doesn't make me an.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
Expert on team building, so I try to refrain from
judging from that lens. Every team had what they thought
was a good draft. Nobody walks away when you're in
one of those thirty two draft rooms at the end
of the draft, going you know what, damn it, we

(10:18):
missed every player. How do we get stuck with this
group of guys? Because if they did, their season's already over.
So everybody walks away going, Okay, here's how this guy
can be positive. Here's how this many picks will put
us ahead. Here's how what we did this year and
the picks we picked up next year are going to improve.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
This team long term.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Right, It's not all about the sensationalism. It's not all
about making the fans happy and getting the most tweets
and the most you know, social media views on every
pick you made, or having the biggest splash and the
best trade and you know, getting that trade that goes
down in history or that player that becomes a Hall
of Famer. It's about getting the right guys at the

(11:02):
right position for your team that are gonna help you win.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
And there's some.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Teams I think that did a fairly good job at that,
and other teams, you know, I feel again that because
I'm not sure about it, because I don't know what
that they're they're looking to do, it didn't quite make
a lot of sense. So, no, none of us are
smarter than our teams. We all had our reactions, we
all had our emotions. We all had our excitements and

(11:28):
our letdowns and our ah moments. Right Mike Green going
to Baltimore was one of those moments for me.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
I really thought when he fell.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Into the fifties or sixties, Detroit was gonna pick them up.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
I'm sitting in my.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
Living room going get Green, Get Green, Get Green. And
they took Rutledge at what fifty seven, So instant reaction
was let down. That's why I don't do my reaction
after the draft, because Relives could be a player. He
could be a ten year starter, he could be that dude.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
Might have to do something about the bullet. But we'll
get through that.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
And we have to remember we're not playing Madden. This
isn't let's make a fantasy roster. This isn't what we
see on YouTube where we get every team's best players
at every position and then sprinkle in a couple of
players that we wish we had. Right, We're not making
an all time all pro roster on Madden to where

(12:35):
your team's favorite colors.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
So I think.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Everybody's got to kind of remember that a little bit too.
And even the people who do it on TV for money,
you gotta remember those guys all have an agenda. They
all work for a network, right, They have to put
out things that are entertainment. They have to say some
things that are controversial, they have to agree with some points.

(12:59):
That's what the drive viewership, that's what brings in marketing,
that's what pays their salaries.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
That's why Stephen A.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Smith is nothing but a performing clown, because now that
he's paid now that he's the big dog, now that
he's got to bring in the money in those advertising dollars,
he's become a character of who he was. Is he
still delivering pretty much similar messages? Sure, but it's on
a much more exaggerated let's press buttons, let's get headlines,

(13:28):
let's get clicks formant. So we're not playing Matt We
are roster building for the future. We're not smarter than
our teams. Yes there was letdowns, Yes there was excitement
with all the build up that came and watching these
mock drafts. So the best drafts, this is how I

(13:52):
see it. I'm gonna start with division, switch over to conference,
and then do league.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
So AFC North easily. I give this to Baltimore.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Baltimore is a team who knows who they are, knows
what kind of players they want, knows what they're looking for,
and they stick to it each and every year. They
do not let anything sway the way they go about
their drafts.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Had eleven picks this year, and you look.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
At the value I think they got in rounds five
through five and six, where they picked up what two, four, six,
seven picks in rounds five and six, offensive tackle cornerback,
a kicker because dude's dirty, a wide receiver, defensive tackle,
and another cornerback.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
These are going to.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
Be depth special teams guys.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
Right building for the future.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
You could say Cleveland had a good draft, but for
reasons i'll talk about here in a little bit. I
have them fourth in the NFC North. And if you
look at some of the players they took early on,
they were on track with the way they were drafting
to have a fairly good draft seven picks. Took Mason Graham,
Carson Swessinger in the second round, quin Shawn Judkins in

(15:18):
the second round, and then you know, we'll talk about
the rest here in a minute. So I've got Cleveland fourth,
Baltimore first. I have Cincinnati with the third best draft
in the division, and I put Pittsburgh second, and I
don't know that it's really close. Had Cleveland not done

(15:41):
what they did, Cleveland's probably the second best draft just
because of those first players that I mentioned.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
But for Pittsburgh to get Derek.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Carmon, Now remember we all thought Shador was going to Pittsburgh.
It was the logical spot he's going there. But they
get Derek Carmon defensive tackle, he's going to come in.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
He's a Pittsburgh guy.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Jack Sawyer in the fourth round Ohio State Edge.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
He's a Pittsburgh guy. Under TJ. Watt.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
He's gonna be a nice little rookie. Caleb Johnson out
of Iowa the running back. I like that pickup. Yahya
Black at Iowa the defensive tackle. Still solid. They go
get Will Howard, who's going to probably start as their
backup quarterback, but could work into his starter type role.
He's at least going to be a career backup. He's solid.

(16:32):
We'll see how he develops and if he's able to
become a starter type. In the sixth round, only had
seven picks, mind you, Carson Brunner linebacker to Washington, and
Dante Can't out of Central Michigan wrapped up Pittsburgh's draft.
So I really like what Baltimore did. Malachi Starks, Mike Green,

(16:52):
like I said, at number fifty nine, Emery Jones Junior
at LSU, Teddy Buchanan at a cal and then rounds
five through six. Talked about those picks already and Garon
dellanter LSU their seventh round pick.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
Guard.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
So Baltimore moves forward for the AFC AFC South. I'll
give the nod to Jacksonville. They had nine picks. They
traded up twice to get the guy they wanted. Nobody
in the AFC North that I picked traded up to
get the guy they wanted.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
Jacksonville traded up. They made the splash.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
They got Travis Hunder They're gonna let him play two ways.
They basically got two players in that pick. Then you
go get Caleb Branshaw Ran Saw out of toul Wyatt
Millmoon wide receiver or West Virginia Guard Basehell Tuton, Virginia
Tech running back. Right, he's gonna give you carries. He's

(17:48):
gonna give you snaps. Jack Kaiser at a Notre Dame.
The linebacker, he's gonna tackle, he's gonna play special teams.
Ah Jalen McLeod at Auburn, Ryan Lane the third out
of Navy, the safety.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
I don't really know.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
What his commitments are as far as service. But then
you go get Joan Maham out of USC the center,
and Lequint Allen out of Syracuse the running back. I
like Jacksonville's draft, if for nothing else. They had nine picks.
They jumped up. They took the guy probably the best
player in the draft in Travis Hunter, and they did

(18:26):
their thing. Houston was right there. They had nine picks.
They made four trades. Some of those those four trades
led to most of their picks. They traded up four
times in round two, three, four, and six. They get
Jaden Higgins, the wide receiver out of Iowa State. They
get Aaron te Erci, the Minnesota offensive tackle. Jalen Nole,
Iowa State wide receiver, Jalen Smith, the cornerback.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Out of USC.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
Right, they got some guys Indianapolis. I have third in Tennessee.
I have fourth in the AFC South, the AFC East.
I gave the nod to Miami. They took eight picks.
They traded up to get the guy they wanted one time,
and that was Jonah savaiin savaiay E, I think that

(19:12):
was the Arizona guard out of Arizona.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
He's a beast.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
He's gonna fill right in, probably could start for Miami.
You get Kenneth Grant, the defensive tackle out of Michigan
in the first round, the defensive tackle Jordan Phillips. They
hit defense hard in their first five picks. Four out
of their first five were all on the defensive side
of the ball. You get quinn Ewers come in to
be a backup Totua.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
Excuse me.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
In the seventh round, I got New England's second in
the AFC East with eleven picks, traded up one time
to get the guy they want. That was Joshua Farmer,
the defensive tackle out of Florida State. In the fourth round,
they do get mister irrelevant, the two hundred and fifty
seventh pick, Kobe Minor out of Memphis or cornerback, but
they go get themselves an offensive tackle on Will Camp

(20:05):
short arms are not. They took him Traveon Henderson, running back.
All he does is play. Kyle Williams, a wide receiver
out of Washington State. Jared Wilson like, I can see
more of what they're doing with their draft to help
their team. Then I really understand what they did in
free agency by spending all the damn money they did.
I'll give Buffalo the third seat in the AFC East

(20:27):
and the Jets are the fourth seat AFC West. This
one's tied. Honestly, after doing this and thinking about it,
I've flip flopped a few times, so I'm just gonna
say it's a tie as far as the AFC West goes.
I think Denver in Vegas ultimately had the best two drafts.
Denver had more moments probably where it was like huh,

(20:49):
why that guy? But that's okay because they got players.
They got quality players. They got players that are going
to add to depth and make the team better. Even
though all of us kind of thought they'd take somebody
else in certain spots, Denver, with the seven picks, traded
up once to get the guy they wanted and saveon Jones,

(21:10):
the edge player at LSU.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
They do get Jah Day Barron.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
I don't know what that means for Riley Moss coming
back from his injury, or if it's just more youth
and depth because of what they're already paying Certan at
that position.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
A lot of people why'd you get RJ. Harvey?

Speaker 2 (21:26):
Why didn't you go get Hampton, Why didn't you go
get Henderson, Why didn't you get Judkins? R J. Harvey
offers Sean Payton what he's looking for at the running
back position. Again, we're not smarter than these guys. We
don't know how they're trying to use them at this point.
So we're reacting based on all of these mocks and
all of these things that have come out for months
saying they need to go this route. This is the guy. Well,

(21:49):
maybe that wasn't the guy. For dinner, Pat Bryan al Illinois,
the wide receiver. You get Ke Robinson out of Alabama,
the edge, a couple more edge players. Get that rotation strong,
keep it strong again. You've got players in that group
now that are gonna have to start getting paid, and
you can't always pay everybody. And then finally they do

(22:10):
go get themselves a China in Kayleb Lohner out of.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
Utah. I think in the seventh round. Now Vegas.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
Look after the draft eleven picks. Everybody's calling Ashton Gentry
the best pick of the draft. He's gonna be the
most impactful player, is what I kept hearing. Then you
get Jack Beach, a wide receiver out of TCU. He's
kind of a bigger hunter. Renfro, who I see is
making a comeback possibly this year. Hans guy couldn't really

(22:44):
tell if they were taking him because they liked him
or if they were taking him because of the tragedy
that happened with his brother in New Orleans, Darien Porter
out of Iowa State at the corner, and then you
get to Caleb Rogers and Charles Grant, who if you
listen to the guys on ESPN during the draft, basically
made these two sound like they.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
Can't play football. Right.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
They did it in a positive way, but it was
like everything was they're a lump of clay. If they
get coached right, maybe you can mold them through enough repetitions,
they could become something.

Speaker 1 (23:24):
There's a reason they.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
Got picked though, rightnety eight ninety nine back to back
picks offensive tackles. Maybe they don't play offensive tackle, maybe
they kick inside the guard. Maybe they are projects. We'll
see because this is a new system Vegas is gonna
be running. This is a Pete Carroll more leaning run
game system. So maybe Charles Grant and Caleb Rogers are

(23:46):
exactly what they need. In young tackles, you're looking at
a tackle group there for Las Vegas. That's not prime. Right,
they're left tackle. He could be on his way out
in the next year or two. Right tackles a little younger.
But then you go get a wide receiver out of
Tennessee and Dante Thornton Junior Tanka Hemingway defensive tackle, JJ

(24:09):
pegas At a Mississippi defensive tackle. You take eleven picks,
you had a lot of positions of need Vegas did
they took a lot of picks. You get Cam Miller
out of Notre Dame or North Dakota State. Excuse me.
The quarterback, he's got winning experience. He's not very big guy.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
What is he like?

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Six to one six two, two hundred pounds something like
that isn't really going to push Geno for the starting position.
But if he comes back as a backup, comes in
as a backup, the.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Moment probably isn't going to be too big for him.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
Even though it was North Dakota State, he was used
to being national title games. I got Kansas City is
the third best draft in the division and the Chargers.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
With the fourth best draft.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
So for sake of argument, we're moving Denver, Vegas, Miami, Jacksonville,
and Baltimore forward in the AFC is the top AFC drafts,
and the NFC will start with the NFC North.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
I'm not ashamed.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
I championed for this team. And you could argue all
day that Chicago had a better draft. You could argue
that Minnesota with their five picks, had a better draft,
or Green Bay had a better draft, if you want
to Detroit took seven picks. They traded up three times
to get who they wanted in the second, third, and
fifth round. They gave up draft capital in next year's
draft two third round picks because they believed in the players.

(25:41):
And again I'm not questioning Brad Holmes at this point.
When I saw some of these picks live, I was like, oh, okay,
like Tate Rudliche Ratlich, I was in on Mike Green
at fifty seven, Tyler Williams, Okay, I get it. He's
an Aline McNeil type. We need more bodies in the
defensive line. He's gonna help us with run. He's a penetrator.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
Isaac Teslain. He's like a Jerry Judy.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
I know we've heard the Puka Nakua comparisons, but to me,
he's like.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
A Jerry Judy. So we'll see.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
He's got to be able to create separation, which you know,
by all accounts is his his weak spot. He's a
good fifty to fifty guy uh six' two six three type.
Receiver Miles frager Out lsu the guard they jump up
to draft. Him they bring in the First egyptian born,
player in a Mod hassan out Of Boise, state twenty

(26:33):
two sacks in the last two, Seasons Dan, jackson the.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
Safety out Of.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
Georgia and then they finished With Dominic, lovett who's kind,
OF i don't, know a kick returner, type maybe a
little bit of a slot. Receiver we'll have to see
what they what they try and do With Dominic.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
Lovett and In.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
Chicago look nice draft eight, picks didn't trade, up didn't have,
to just took the best player when your pick came
to the. Board Colston loveland tight. End hate that they
took that. Guy Luther, burden a third out Of, mississippi wide,
Receiver Ozzie trapelo out Of Boston, college offensive Taxle Chamar
Turner TEXAS a AND m defensive, Tackle Rubin hypolite the

(27:20):
second linebacker out Of, Maryland Zafh frasier out Of university Of,
Tulsa university Of, Texas San. Antonio excuse, me Cornerback Luke
newman out Of Michigan, state And Kyle Monaghae monnaget out Of.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
Rutgers running Back Green bay. Third And i've Got minnesota.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
FOURTH i, mean they just didn't have the picks to
be able to compete with what these other teams were
able to bring in to try.

Speaker 1 (27:45):
And improve their.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Team and For, detroit, Look Tyler williams is going to
play this. Year Tate retlins is going to play this.
Year tesla's gonna play this, Year fraser's gonna play this.
Year I'm Matta hussein's gonna play this. Year Dan jackson
could get on special, teams probably a practice squad. Guy
Dominic Levit i'm thinking it's more of a practice squad
guy as, Well but we'll see what comes of. THOSE Nfc,

(28:08):
South i've Got Tampa bay with their six picks winning the.

Speaker 1 (28:11):
Division as far.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
As the best best, draft they Get Amika egbuka out
Of Ohio, state the wide receiver that's gonna be huge for.
Them Mike evans is gonna be stepping out in the
next couple of years more than. Likely Benjamin morrison the
cornerback out Of Notre, Dame Jacob Parrish Kansas state. Corner

(28:32):
they go back to back edge edge in the fourth
and fifth round With David walker And Elijah, roberts and
then they Get Tess, johnson another wide receiver who could
help and the seventh round on both special teams and
on being probably your fourth receiver this.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
Year i'll give It.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
Atlanta, No i'm gonna change, that.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
Just LIKE i did For.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
Cleveland So i'm gonna Go carolina the second best, Draft
New orleans, third And atlanta's gonna be the fourth best
draft of the. Division not because of the players they,
took but because of what happened around them in the.
Draft right they Got Jalen walker out In. Georgia that,
edge they came back and Got James pierced at the
end of the first round out Of. Tennessee another edge

(29:25):
Was atlanta's biggest problem on defense pass. Rush they've addressed,
it then they go get two Safeties Xavier wats And Billy.
Bowman only had five picks traded up. Twice Jack nelson
out Of wisconsin was their offensive tackle they got in
the seventh. Round but for things they should have had
in their, control they don't get to be the second

(29:46):
best draft in THE Nfc. South as far as THE Nfc,
East dallas's nine picks trading up one time to get
the guy that they. Want it was an impression impressive.
DRAFT i can't. Lie Tyler booker the guard At. Alabama
great revitalize the. Trenches you needed. That donovan Is zuku

(30:08):
a zook as Zu roku out Of Boston college at the.
EDGE a lot of people had him as a first round.
Pick they get him at pick forty four in the second.
Round Schevon revel junior out Of East carolina at the.
Cornerback Jaden blue the running back out Of. Texas he's
going to step in and play this. Year a fifth round.
Pick the trade they made to trade up was in

(30:31):
the fifth round For Shamar james out Of florida the,
linebacker primarily probably going to be a special teams week side.
Guy A Johnny cornelius out Of oregon the offensive. Tackle
maybe a little bit of a, project but with your
tackles going through some switch over the last couple of,

(30:53):
years let's get some bodies in. There Ja toya out
OF ucla the defensive. Tackle Phil maffa to clem in
the running, back And Tommy aiken best best out the
defensive tackle out Of. Maryland philadelphia look Like. Baltimore philadelphia
knows who they are right. Now they know what kind

(31:13):
of players they Want i've got them as the second
best draft in THE Nfc. East they had ten. Picks
they traded up one time to get the guy they.
Want that Was Johad campbell out Of. Alabama let's just
give them another pass rusher from THE, sec shall we?
Not like that didn't work out for him well last?
Year second round they Get Andrew mokuba out Of, texas

(31:34):
the Safety Ty robinson in the fourth, round the defensive
tackle out Of. Nebraska that's one of my favorite picks
For philadelphia because that guy's just all. Motor three picks
in the fifth round With mac, McWilliams Sm Smail Mondon,
Junior Drew, kendall And Kyle kyle McCord was a sixth round,

(31:56):
pick excuse. Me and then they had four six round
Picks kyle, Mcord Miles, Hilton Cameron, williams And Antoine Powell.
Riley hitting the trenches edge offensive, tackles, centers, linebackers defensive, tackles, linebackers,
safety corner, right and then you get those extra guys

(32:16):
outside of. That but they hit the trenches. Heavy but
four of their ten picks were from either the offense
or defensive.

Speaker 1 (32:25):
Lines i'll give.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
The giants the third best draft And washington the fourth
best draft in the. Division as far as the conference,
goes that would Bring, Dallas, Tampa. Detroit who let me
do THE Nfc west real, quick WHERE i Have seattle
having the best draft in The. West sorry to slight

(32:46):
THE Nfc. West seattle had eleven picks straighted up twice
to get the guy they. Wanted Gray, Zabel North Dakota state,
Guard nick And manwori the safety out Of South, Carolina Elijah,
royo the tight end out Of My, Miami Jaln milroe
surprising pick the corner quarterback out Of. Alabama Riley, mills

(33:07):
defensive tackle out Of Notre. Dame wasn't a guy they
traded up to. Get Tory, horton called wide Receiver Colorado.
State he's gonna play this. Year he's making the team
as a fifth round. Pick market Down Robbie outs tight
end At, Alabama.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
Bryce, CABLE dooo guard out Of.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
Kansas Damian, martinez the running back out Of. Miami just
gives You. Carries seventh round, Pick just gonna give You.
Carries Mason richmond out Of, iowa and Then Ricky, white
the third out of unl v in the seventh Round San,
francisco eleven picks took the guy who got to their
pick each. Time Mikhale, Williams Alfred, Collins Nick, Martin Upton, STOUT. Cj,

(33:57):
West Jordan, Watkins Jordan, James Marcus, Siggle Curtis, Rourke Connor,
Colby Junior. BERGEN i got The rams with the third
best draft in the, division In arizona with the. Fourth
did anybody else notice That houston had A Jaden, higgins
A Jalen, knoll A Jalen, smith and A Jalen reed

(34:18):
like all very similar names, There arizona with the, Fourth
rams with the. Third So, Seattle, Dallas tampa And detroit
with the best drafts in THE nfc as far as
my opinion, goes and as far as the entire, LEAGUE
i will give the nod To dallas And baltimore as
having the two best drafts in THE. Nfl most embarrassing, drafts,

(34:43):
well that's. Simple those stand. Out you have to go
With cleveland and you have to go With atlanta And.
Cleveland for whatever, reason you got yourself very much connected
with weird dots to this conspiracy theory Around shador because
you Took dylan gay pick what ninety four something like,
that ninety, four ninety, six and then fifty picks later

(35:07):
you Take Shador sanders.

Speaker 1 (35:09):
In the fifth.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
Round there is no way you can tell me or
convince me that your scouting department, Said Dylan gabriel has
the potential to be a BETTER nfl quarterback Than Shador,
sanders and his value was higher on your board to
start this process Than Shador. Sanders, well you guys had
talks about taking in the first.

Speaker 1 (35:29):
Round that is. Embarrassing what it really.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
Seems like is that Because, shador by all, accounts interviewed,
poorly maybe had some, arrogance THE nfl decided to humble.
Him you can say collusion if you want. To it's
never going to be proven one way or. Another but
the fact of the matter Is shador's talent level does

(35:54):
not Equal. Dionce so When dion came out in eighty
nine and his ego is at an all time high
And detroit had to put him on layaway if they
were going to draft, him the talent outweighed. That shador
coming in with a similar, mentality the talent doesn't outweigh.
That so to, me THE nfl took it as a
moment to humble the, kid and they, said nobody takes

(36:18):
him to the fifth. Round if you want to take
him in the fifth, round you want a trade to
take him in the fifth, round let's all, agree we're
not going.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
To take him to the fifth.

Speaker 2 (36:25):
Round and in the one team who made it look
kind of obvious that that was what the thing was
doing Was cleveland by Taking Dylan gabriel. First Dylan gabriel
would have been there after you Took shador in the fifth.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
Round that's, embarrassing AND i could be one hundred percent.
Wrong there could be no.

Speaker 2 (36:44):
Conclusion maybe everybody Thinks shador who set all the records
THAT SeeU but one quarterback of the year.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
Is it going to be AN nfl?

Speaker 2 (36:54):
Quarterback but The Dylan gabriel could be Or Jalen milroe will.
Be and then all the talk of him being a
first round pick and all of the odds of him
not making it out of the first, round, well that's
just the ultimate time we all got it. Wrong the
other team that had the most embarrassing draft was The Atlanta,

(37:15):
falcons not because the players they took with the five
picks they had No it's because the son of the
defensive coordinator prank Called Shador. Sanders he took a private
phone number that was exposed on his dad's computer or
tablet or, whatever and decided to be a little punk

(37:36):
at twenty one years old and ruined somebody's. Moment and
now he wants to come out and, apologize And shador
spoke to.

Speaker 1 (37:45):
Him shadeur was.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
Gracious and, said, okay let's talk to the, kid and
he wants to apologize and, SAYS i can't imagine anybody
ruining one of the biggest.

Speaker 1 (37:53):
Moments in my.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
Life yes you, can because you thought about it and
then you did.

Speaker 1 (37:58):
It you can't imagine. That that's how you made the prank.

Speaker 2 (38:03):
Call that's how your little punk self took numbers off
your dad's devices and made a call you didn't need to,
make costing the team two hundred and something thousand, dollars
costing your dad one hundred thousand, dollars.

Speaker 1 (38:20):
And you get to walk around and.

Speaker 2 (38:21):
Tell your, Buddies, hey, hey here's my funny story about
this one TIME i was a. Punk embarrassing embarrassing drafts
for both of, them and again not because of the
players they took, necessarily but maybe because of where they took.

Speaker 1 (38:36):
Them so that's. It that's WHAT i.

Speaker 2 (38:39):
Got that's my draft reaction a week. Out that's WHERE
i sit. With those are the teams at the top
THAT i think in each division and each conference did
a really good. Job we'll see how it plays. Out
me saying, this anybody else saying. It it's, fodder, right
it's our. Opinions we all have. One they're like. Assholes

(39:00):
we'll see it in two or three years as these
guys really get into THE, nfl really start making a
mark for, themselves and.

Speaker 1 (39:06):
Really start doing.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
Something DO i think Cam ward is going to be
the best quarterback that comes out in this.

Speaker 1 (39:12):
DRAFT i don't.

Speaker 2 (39:14):
DO i think it's gonna Be shador probably. Not could
it Be howard In pittsburgh in the sixth?

Speaker 1 (39:20):
Round? Maybe so we'll. See we'll see until next. Time
this is the sideline. Shuffle thanks for.

Speaker 2 (39:29):
