(00:01):
Welcome to the Spirit Centered Business podcast. Will we blend the spiritual with the
practical for supernatural results. Now here'syour host, Brilin Nuby. Welcome back
to Spirit Centered Business. I amhere again for another segment with Rivera Doubt
It. I am so excited tointroduce her as a campaign a candidate,

(00:26):
excuse me, for lieutenant governor forNorth Carolina. And in this segment,
we're going to go into more ofwhat that looks like. Welcome back,
Rivera. Thank you so much,Brilin. So, in the first segment,
if you guys missed it, shetold all about her story and how
she had an encounter with the Lordthat totally changed the trajectory of her life.

(00:48):
It was just just an amazing story. So if you missed it,
make sure that you go to Spiritcenter Business dot com or the YouTube channel
and catch the part one of RIVERADoubt That. So in this segment,
though, we're going to go intowhy you're running, how that happened,
and what you're running on and allof the campaign issues because I'm sure that

(01:12):
people want to know. Well, thank you for having me. And not
even sure where to begin, it'sbeen such a surreal thing, actually to
step into this and step out infaith as God has asked me to do,

(01:32):
and that kind of answers maybe oneof the questions that most people would
ask is why are you doing this? Why would anybody in their right mind
get into politics? Why would anyoneget into politics? And I've always said,
Lord, I'm not doing politics.I've run from it probably most of
my life. I think I'm probablybuilt for it because I've just seen throughout

(01:57):
my life that God has been preparingme for this time in a multitude of
different ways. Though on paper,I am not qualified in the natural as
most men or women would think qualificationswhat that would look like. But I
am qualified from heaven and qualified byHeaven to do what He's asking me to

(02:23):
do. We know that anointing issomething that everyone doesn't have. And I'm
not trying to sound arrogant when Isay that, But when God asks us
to do something, you know alwayssay, he doesn't necessarily call the qualified,
but he does qualify those he calls. And He's called me to step

(02:46):
into this. I know that evenback in high school he was preparing me.
I was the class president, andI know that sounds kind of funny,
but you look back over your lifeand you're like, wow, that
preparation and this was preparation, andthis was preparation just in being able to
deal with people and different personalities.I worked in the ICU as a nurse

(03:10):
for years, and even in thatI was being prepared to be able to
make decisions quickly under pressure, tobe able to deal with different personality types
with families. There's just a lot, you know, juggling many, many
things all at one time as anurse, and then stepping into ministry a

(03:35):
few years later, that's another wholeballgame where you're dealing with different personality types
and putting out fires in a differentway and the spirit. And then fast
forward and we also have a businessand so we put out fires with that
as well. And I just thinkthey're you know, having an office of

(04:00):
the highest seats in the land callsfor a certain criteria, and I would
think that knowing how to stay calmunder pressure and make wise decisions under pressure
is part of that. So Ibelieve that there are many reasons why God
would call me into this, butjust as the obvious of just who I

(04:20):
am and who He's created me tobe and where I've been and how He's
been preparing me I would think wouldbe part of that. Yeah, yeah,
absolutely, And you know, likeI said at the end of the
first segment, this is you justbeing who He's created you to be,
brings heaven to earth and you beingable to be positioned in a place where

(04:45):
you can release you know, kingdomand speak life into situations. It's so
it's such a blessing to see someonelike you who is willing to step up
to that, because so many aboutme included, would say, oh no,
I am staying far far away.So I really want to honor you

(05:08):
for saying yes to what the callon your life has been and what the
Lord is calling to you you todo now. So that is really really
good. Tell me more about thedecision, and I think it was like
three years ago, was it?Yeah? Yes? How did all of

(05:29):
that come into play? How didyou know it was going to be lieutenant
governor of North Carolina? Yes,So it's a good question. Several years
ago I begin to feel the nudgethat I would go into public office in
some capacity, and I really, like I said, I ran from it.
I told the Lord, no,I don't want to do politics.

(05:50):
I'm sorry, Lord, I'm notcreate I'm not made for that. There's
two you know. I saw politicsas a petri dish of if you will,
of just a lot of bad stuffthat a lot of evil, a
lot of lying, manipulating. AndI didn't want any part with any of

(06:15):
that because I know that God reallywants to keep whomever comes close to me
is going to need to be pure. So and I'll just say it like
that. But and I knew thatI couldn't be a part of any of
that, So I said, Lord, why would you ask me to go
into this? You know? SoI ran from it for a little while,

(06:35):
and then he was very serious withme about three years ago and showed
me specifically where he would be takingme over the course of the next I
don't know, maybe decade or so. And I wasn't sure that I was
hearing him right. I really questionedthat and began to pray into it.

(07:00):
Never shared it right away. Iwaited to even share it with the closest
people to me until I was hearingconfirmations from the Lord, and he began
to confirm right away that I hadheard correctly. So I didn't I don't
understand. It was just like, you know what, like with any person

(07:21):
in the Bible, probably they're sittingthere going, what why me? I'm
just an ordinary like Gideon, youknow, I'm just an ordinary guy,
Like I'm not a mighty man?Are you kidding me? And it's funny
because God has actually used that storya few times to point out that He's
going to do this with a smallarmy, not with a large army.

(07:44):
And that's so grassroots, you know. But anyway, the whole back to
the point of how I knew LieutenantGovernor, it was a process. I
said, Lord, I'm willing todo whatever you asked me to do.
He said, you're going to takethree large, very large steps, almost
like table size steps in your journey. And I didn't know what those steps

(08:11):
were, but he said they're goingto be extremely large. They're going to
take great leaps of faith. Iwas okay with that because I've done things
like preaching Pakistan and go to theMiddle East and just go wherever the Lord
asked me to go because I knowif he's sending me, he's got a
plan for protecting me, and soI trust him in all of that.

(08:33):
He said three large steps. Isaid, okay, well maybe I'll run
for mayor. And I get tickledat that because the Lord, I know,
he was laughing at me. Hesaid, and because I have no
problem running for local office. Ithink that that's very important that people do
run for a local office. Andone's really in my mind, if God

(08:56):
called you to it, one's notgreater than the other. It's just that
we want to be where he's callingus at, you know, whenever he's
calling us and we want to doexactly what it is he's calling us to
do nothing less, nothing more, and callings are you know, it's it's
it's always our obedience is what theLord is looking for. It's that,

(09:20):
you know, it's one of thegreatest sacrifices to the Lord, is our
obedience. So one's not greater thanthe other. So in my mind,
I'm thinking, well, no,you know, I have no experience as
a politician, so I better startsmall, you know, I better start
with a local office some something. And I said, well, maybe mayor.
And I thought that was big,and and the Lord shut that down.

(09:43):
He just shut the door. Istarted investigating it, and he just
shut it down right away. Heallowed me to pursue these thoughts and these
things. He allowed me to gothrough those processes. But he said no
to that right away. Then Iwas thinking about running for Congress. I
thought, he said, you needto think bigger. So I said,

(10:03):
okay, well, I'll run forSenate in North Carolina, or I'll run
for Congress for one of the federaloffices and through North Carolina. Just I'll
do that. And he said okay. I said, can I do that?
Lord? He said sure, buthe said, under this one condition.
When they open up the time foryou to put in your paperwork and

(10:28):
put in your application, I wantyou to choose the second week to go
do that. Don't do it thefirst week. I thought that was kind
of odd, but I listened.I said, okay, well, what
happened in North Carolina when in thelast couple of years when that came through
and people were signing up to runfor office for Congress, there were about

(10:52):
there were over one hundred applicants forpeople running for Congress we had in North
Carolina. People apparently are fed upand they're stepping up, which I think
is amazing, wonderful that people arestepping up like that. But in the
first week, they had so manyapplicants our judiciary system met and they shut

(11:18):
down the applications coming in. Theyshortened it by a week, so the
second week was closed. The Lordknew that because he knew that that wasn't
where he wanted me to pursue office. And so I continue to pray.
He had me make some really bigdecisions and do some really hard things in

(11:41):
my own personal life and with ministry. After that, and after I took
the steps to do things that werevery difficult for me to do relationally,
he then told me exactly what hewanted me to do. It after my
obedience to do these small things thathe needed me to do in my life

(12:03):
that he then said he gave thisis the word of the Lord, this
is what I want you to do. So and people would say, well,
how do you know it was aword of the Lord, not a
ba burido or whatever. Well, there were there were dreams, visions.
People would come to me with wordsabout this and didn't even know that I

(12:26):
was considering it. I was prayingwith a friend one day she didn't know,
and she saw me in a visionand a situation that was clearly official
and what very clear to me,even who I was with, but I
won't go into that. I can'treally share the details of that, but

(12:48):
it was clear to me. GodI would be praying specifically about this Lord,
you know, confirm one more time, and he would take me to
scripture that said the governors did this, or you know, with just me
jumping off the page about governors. And so the Lord is funny, and

(13:11):
he's very specific, and he's andhe means what he says and says what
he means. And I have learnedthrough years and years of walking with him
to when I'm hearing his voice toknow when I'm hearing his voice and to
know how to follow. So notto say that I always get it right,
but I I'm with something this big, I'm pretty clear before I step

(13:35):
out. So you know, Idon't venture to say exactly what he's doing
through all of this, but Ido believe that he has a plan to
put me in office, and it'spart of his kingdom plan. And it
is unto cultural reformation, it's untorevival in the land, it's unto his

(13:56):
glory. It isn't for me,as a matter of fact. It you
know, when I released footage sayingthat I was running an announcement, and
I said in that announcement, Idon't have to do this, and I
don't have to do this as faras like, do I need this for

(14:16):
my own personal gain, for myname, for power, for any of
those things. I don't need itfor that. I'm doing it because God
asked me to first, and thennext, it's because there are specific issues
that I believe he wants me toaddress in the times that we're living in

(14:37):
and in this land. So good, and so let's just roll right into
Well, actually, I do haveone question. I want to back up
a second, because you said somethingreally profound that I want people to hear
is that you had some things todeal with relationally that he was calling you

(14:58):
to do. And the may havebeen considered small things, but when it's
relationship, that becomes a sticky wicketbecause you don't know how the you know,
there's another person involved. And Ijust wanted to stress that you were
obedient even in the things that mayhave been hard for you to do.

(15:18):
So you know, well done fordoing it. Thank you. Yes,
I actually believe the Lord said thatthat was It's not it's nothing against the
people because I love the people andso does he and I always will.
But when he asks us to dohard things, we have to be obedient

(15:41):
because there are outcomes. There's moreinvolved than just what meets the eye.
And he needed to know as aleader, if he's putting me in a
position of this type of caliber,I should say, or of this magnitude,
because I don't take it lightly.I know that it is a large
seat in the land. It's it'sa serious place to be seated, and

(16:06):
he could He wanted to know thatI could lead by his spirit, that
I was willing to do the hardthings, even if it meant that things
wouldn't look exactly the same as theyhad always in the past. It was
out of my safety zone or mycomfort zone, so to speak. But

(16:27):
I did it anyway because even thoughit was hard, and I think he
needed to see me do that inorder to say, Okay, now you
can go ahead, this is whatI want you to do. Wow.
I love that he there was atime of testing. Even while you were
getting confirmations, he's still just makingsure. Oh that's so good. Okay,

(16:48):
So let's come down to the issuesthat are on your heart. That
you really feel that he's called youto address, to stand for and all
of that stuff. Yes, well, tell me how much time do we
have. I don't even know wherewe are with the time. Yeah,
we probably have about fifteen minutes off. Okay, okay, I haven't been

(17:11):
keeping track. I'm sorry. SoI guess, you know, I want
to be clear that I'm an obviouslyconservative Christian woman, but I'm also a
Republican. I'm standing on that platform, and I, you know, want
to be clear about that because alot of people do ask what are you
a Democrat or a Republican or whatare you running on? So I'll be

(17:36):
clear that I'm Republican. I've beena part of the Republican Party since I
started voting when I was young.But I'm not you know, I'm a
policy girl, and I like tosay that I'm I'm running on Heaven's policies
and biblical policies, and so Ibelieve in the times that we're living in.

(17:59):
You know, so my grandparents wereactually Democrats years ago. I do
believe that this isn't really against orfor any one party. I believe there's
probably good things about both, andthere's corruption on both sides. So we
you know, that's the nature ofpolitics, and that was what I was
addressing earlier. Politics is not reallyfrom God. Government is. And that's

(18:23):
how God convinced me to move forwardwith all of this, is that he
wants me in a seat of governmentso that I can govern from heaven and
bring heaven to earth. And thesystems that we've created are political in nature,
and they are really governed from notfrom Heaven, but from Earth or

(18:45):
even from I would say even fromthe enemy's camp in a lot of cases.
And when I say that, Imean Satan's camp. They're evil a
lot of times. And so he'swanting to bring the light in to the
darkness. He's wanting to bring heavento earth, as Brilan has eloquently put
it, and that is why he'scalling me into this. But one of

(19:11):
the things that I want to do, and believe that God's asking me to
do while on there, is toreally rescue and defend the children. I
think there is an attack on theminds of the youth and of the children,
even at a very young age. They're targeting children right now. And
when I say they, I mean, you know, either the far left

(19:34):
or if we want to even excludesaying far left, just say evil,
evil forces wanting to take the childrenout, wanting to steal their identity and
their purpose that God had given themfrom creation at wanting to steal that at
a very young age. You know, we know that there is a window

(19:56):
of time when children are developing andgrowing that they are they process and take
in like a sponge everything they're learningand everything they're taught, and so they're
targeting children at that age. Iwant to protect that. I want to
protect innocence. I want to protectpurity, I want to protect creation life.

(20:21):
And these are the things that they'recoming against, all the things I
just named, or the things thatare under fire by the enemy with the
children right now. So I wouldlike to make sure that there are safeguards
in place where the children have environmentsto be safe where they're in their home
lives, but also to be safewhile they're at school, to be safe

(20:42):
in the libraries, whether they're publicor school libraries. We never need to
have content in those libraries available tochildren that is not age appropriate. And
pornography, to me, isn't ageappropriate for any age group. And I
don't think that the library is aplace for pornography on any day of the

(21:03):
week. So that's something I'd liketo have be addressed. I know that
Mark Robinson, the current lieutenant governor, has been addressing some of these issues,
so have legislators. I will saythat the lieutenant governor position, while
I'm at at this point in theconversation, lieutenant governor in North Carolina is

(21:26):
actually an executive office, but itis also a legislative office. So that
position is given the power to influencelegislation in a way. So I would
have the ability to do that inthis area of safeguarding the children and putting
up putting up very strategic safeguards inthe schools. Curriculums need to get back

(21:49):
to the basics of teaching history, correct history, truth, but also teaching
math and just the basic things thatwe need to be in tell human beings
and live, you know, likenormal everyday civilians. We don't need to
be politicizing gender, we don't needto be politicizing race, and so we

(22:12):
need to really put some safeguards inplace where politics and school are not mixing
so much and that they're not politicizingthese things and targeting your children with lies
about these things, because I thinkwe're trying to indoctrinate the children to believe
lives about who they are and reallyabout the history of our country. And

(22:37):
we've we've got to stop that,I agree. And also this freak thing
that they call climate change. Ohyeah, there are so many issues.
There are so many probably an issuein every department, you know, in
every subject matter where there is alie being taught and there's a twisting of

(22:57):
the truth. And I just wantto be a voice that brings truth to
the table. I always say, people may not agree with me when they
hear the truth. They may notagree in their minds with what I'm saying,
but their spirit knows when they've heardthe truth. And I want to
be a truthful, reasonable voice thatbrings, you know, honesty and truth

(23:22):
to the table, and not justopinions, but actual, factual truth,
biblical truth to the table. That'sso good, That is really good.
And the one question that I knowthat I asked you when we met in
person, and I'm going to askyou again, is what is the same
or different from you versus the currentLieutenant Governor of North Carolina, Mark Robinson,

(23:48):
the current lieutenant governors. I believethat his policies and my policies stand
in the same exact place. Idon't know a thing that he stands for
that I don't, or vice versa, so we would we would. He's
running for governor. I believe wewill work very well together and make a

(24:11):
dynamic team because of you know,we won't have the resistance of trying to
constantly pull a tug on each other'spolicies, because his policies and my policies
stand a line, a line that'sso good, that is really really good.
Okay, is there anything else thatyou want to educate people on or

(24:37):
comment on as far as your platformor the election or the state of I
don't know the state of the world. What do you What do you have?
RIBERTA? Sure? Sure, Imean I can talk about a few
more of the points of things thatI'm standing on. Obviously, don't want
to make promises that I can't keep, so I'm not going around promising the
world because I've never been. LikeI said, I'm not a politician.

(25:00):
I am a mom, a wife, and I'm saying enough is enough.
Not on my watch. I'm followingthe Holy Spirit to even step out to
do this. But it's because Ibelieve God is saying enough is enough,
and he's having someone stand and asa mother, that's what I'm doing to
protect the next generation. I alsoam going to be an advocate for life,

(25:26):
so, you know, protections forthe unborn. I know we've made
some forward momentum in North Carolina legislatively. I would like to see us continue
in that forward motion to really eradicatethis idea that abortion, you know,
being used as birth control is okay, because it isn't. It's never okay.

(25:52):
You know, the Creator, JesusChrist himself is life. I am
the way the truth of life.No one can come to the Father except
through me. Is what he said. He is the Life. And I
really even struggle with how the churchhas been lacks a daisical on this issue.
I don't know how you can withone hand on Sunday morning worship Life

(26:14):
himself, yet with the other hand, on Monday morning, you know,
take life in the womb. Sothis isn't I don't know how we can
reconcile that in the church. SoI stand very firmly that we are to
be protecting and putting up protective legislationon behalf of the unborn, they cannot

(26:37):
speak. I want to be avoice for the voiceless, a truthful voice,
and a voice for the people. And the people may not always agree
with me on everything, but likeI said, when they hear the truth,
their spirit knows they've heard the truth, whether they agree with it or
not. So I want to bea voice that really addresses these hard issues

(27:00):
and is firm, firm, biblicallyfirm with the heart of God on these
matters, because I know that ifwe stand firm on biblical God honoring values
in all these areas, it didn'tmatter what it is, whether it's the
life of the unborn, religious liberties, advocating for veterans, for the elderly,

(27:23):
whatever those cases might be. Ifwe stand on biblical truth, and
we stand on the Word and onthe heart of God on these issues,
God is going to bless North Carolinalike we've never imagined being blessed. And
I believe that he'll do the samefor America if America follows suit. But

(27:45):
I want to see North Carolina reallybe a city on a hill that may
seem cliche to sum that is abiblical term to be a light in the
darkness, a city on a hill. But I believe that that is what
God is calling me to this seatfor, is to really help lead to
set North Carolina a part in thenation, to be a city on a

(28:06):
hill and to be maybe even aspiritual example or covering for the nation,
because we know things aren't going verywell across the nation at large. But
we can work on We can startat home. We can work on what
we have here at home, andthen it will expand from there. I

(28:26):
believe. Oh, I love that. Yes, and then you also mentioned
the human trafficking. Yes, thatis another issue with the children. We
know that human trafficking is and thesex trade is one of the largest forms
of slavery ever in human history. It is the largest form of slavery ever

(28:49):
in human history. Let's let meclarify that. And that must be addressed
to how can we have to youknow, have a blind eye that I
don't know how we can do that, So I want to do everything possible.
We have two major thoroughffaars in NorthCarolina where two major highways seventy seven

(29:11):
crosses eighty five and one and seventyseven Crosses forty and another and those both
are right here where I live, north and south of me, and those
those areas need to be targeted hardcoreto really try to come advance in a

(29:32):
great way to stop sex trafficking inNorth Carolina, and I'd love to see
it eradicated in the United States. But you know, you know, I
always say that the heart of Americacan't heal until the hearts of Americans heal,
and the only one who can dothat is Jesus. And we know
this. So this is what Iwant to bring into a public office.

(29:57):
You know, Christian have been calledevery mountain of society, just like those
doing evil or probably feeling called tobring evil into every sphere of society.
Well we're you know, witches reallydo this well and Christians need to learn
to do it better. But we'regonna take We're going to take the light

(30:18):
of Jesus back into every sphere ofsociety. And he's asking me to start
in government. It's so good. When you were talking about ending the human
trafficking or addressing the human trafficking atthose major places, I was wondering if
you have any thoughts on law enforcement. Oh, absolutely, I support the

(30:42):
police and law enforcement. I thinkwe should actually have more law enforcement than
we do because we know in thepast several years some of that has been
the funding for some of that hasbeen removed. So I'd like to see
that put back in place. Andfor our veterans, our law enforcement,

(31:04):
all the service industries, that thenurses, all these people would be honored
in their places really of what theydo to serve the communities, and that
they would not be shamed for beingin that position, that they would actually
be honored. That is so good. And this just occurred to me,

(31:25):
so potentially it's Holy Spirit, Idon't know, but I just want to
say it out there for the audiencefor everyone that all of these service people,
law enforcement, and everyone else Riveramentioned need our prayers. They need
to be protected, yes, andto help them because some of them may
not know the Lord, but theycould know the Lord like Jesus is well

(31:48):
capable of introducing himself to anyone, especially if we're praying for open hearts and
open minds and opportunities for them tohave that encounter with the One True God.
Yes, So I just want toencourage everyone to pray not only for
what Rivera is doing as far asprotecting the children and cleaning up education and

(32:10):
cleaning up what the things that areput in front of them, like she
said, the pornography and even ageappropriate materials and putting truth in front of
them instead of the indoctrination of liesin the in the various areas. So
so pray for all of those things. Pray for Rivera and her campaign and

(32:32):
you can go to Rivera for nsee just like her Cup says back there,
you want to do a product placement, oh sure, bless my NC
dot com. And we just encourageyou to not only pray but give into
her campaign because she is a voiceof the Lord and a voice who is

(32:55):
bringing Kingdom to the earth. Andwe definitely want to quantum entangle literally trade
into what she is doing with ourfinances, with our prayers, with our
agreement on the earth, because that'show things get done. I mean,
money is the tool that we useto get things done, and prayer is

(33:16):
the thing that brings heaven to earth. And when we release declarations that are
in support of everything that she isrunning on and even protection for her and
for her team, I know Rivera, your team is all also a kingdom
is so cool to see. Yeahto her amazing team members that she has.

(33:39):
I met Noel. That was reallyfun to meet her, and I
met yours and it's just so coolto see kingdom people banding together like a
Jolto army, locking arms, gatheringpeople from around the state and even like
on this show, there's multiple placesall over the world. We're in twenty
seven countries. So if you lovewhat Rivera is doing, yeah, definitely

(34:02):
link arms with her in spirit,Pray for her and her team for have
protection, and pray for the financesto come in that the Lord's will will
be done in the campaign that she'sbeen called to. You guys, this
isn't this isn't the women her part. The Lord is definitely calling and so
we believe that the Lord will provideand we are a part of that provision.

(34:27):
Those are any last thoughts that youhave, Rivera. Yeah, I
would just say to add to whatI've said that I do stand with Israel.
The Lord is very clear and theword of God that those who bless
Israel will also be blessed. Wehave a prayer team for this campaign who
meet every weekday morning. If youwould like to be a part of that

(34:47):
prayer team. Maybe reach out toBrilain or to myself at Rivera for the
number four NC dot com and askto be a part of that, or
be a part of anything on thatwebsite that you want to sign up for,
of course, but but yes,we've been actually setting aside the prayer

(35:07):
team for the campaign. In thislast couple of weeks, during the war
with Israel, we've actually been prayingspecifically for Israel, and that is on
God's heart and we want to doand and line up with what we know
is on his heart. So that'sso good. Thank you, Vera,

(35:28):
thank you for everything that you're doing. We honor you, and we bless
you, and you know we're we'rewe're standing with you. Thank you so
much. And it's going to takean army of us, blinking arms.
It's not I said the other day, and I say it to women all
the time. It's not a timeto be jealous. It's not a time
to be insecure as a body ofChrist. It is time to lay down

(35:51):
our differences, link arms and seewhat we can really do together. So
I invite you into that in thiscampaign. Thank you. I agree,
