Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello everyone, Thanks for joining me here at spiritual Sunshine,
where each of us comes to uncover our spiritual light,
which is divine love and divine wisdom. Yes, I think everyone,
no matter your religion, your ideas about spirituality, has our
own light, has their own life. Each of us is

(00:24):
part of what some call nature, some call the wholeness
of being, some call divinity. Each of us is part
of what makes this universe beautiful. And yes, even those
of us who take on a more let's say dark
aspect to more evil aspect, a spiritually dense and lower aspect,

(00:52):
has their role to play. Each of us have their
role to play in this grand theater of life. And
I do think it's kind of like a theater because
as we look at all the spiritualities around the world,
whether it's Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, even in a way atheism,

(01:17):
and its scientific understanding of what it means to be
a holographic universe, we come to understand that in a
way we're playing out roles that do indeed lead to
something greater, do indeed teach us and help us uncover
that light, that greater humanity that's at the core of

(01:39):
each of us. So you could say each of us
is the center of the universe, each of us is
the center of what it means to be alive. And
you could also say that each of us has a
fundamental I don't know what you want to call it,
a fundamental unity with the divine Creator, with the creative force,

(02:05):
really the artistic force behind the beauty around us, because
it's easy to take this life for granted, but ultimately
what we're talking about is an extension of ourselves. You
can't find a human outside of the universe, can't find
a universe without consciousness to find it, you know what

(02:28):
I mean. In fact, our quantum physics tell us that
the universe is in this infinitely probabilistic quasi state probable clouds,
you could call it, until a consciousness comes in and
solidifies it. These probability clouds exist when a consciousness is

(02:53):
absence absent from a situation. The only time material nature lidifies,
we've come to learn, is in the presence of awareness.
And funny enough, this has been proven in the lab,
proven essentially beyond the shadow of a doubt, that matter,

(03:16):
what we call matter, is in multiple states, representing what
could happen until consciousness comes in, and I don't know
if the consciousness at our core decides. I don't know
if it's just the unity that's deciding, the universal consciousness.
Maybe that's what's at our core as well that decides.

(03:40):
But whatever it is, it takes awareness for things to
seem and to be anything close to you know, material.
What we think of is the hard and fast universe
that's so real and so solid, you know, come to
find out it's only really seemingly solid. It only takes

(04:03):
shape in the presence of consciousness. And even in the
presence of consciousness, we know that it's all energetic. Material
is all energy. It's made up of energy, and that
energy is mainly empty space. And the deeper you go,
the more you realize every level, from atoms, the quirks,

(04:25):
you know, whatever we're talking about on an atomic and
lower scale, it's mainly space. And so what keeps us together,
what keeps us from fully coming into each other, colliding,
going through each other, and what keeps us actually as
a whole are the same thing. Magnetism, the opposite of

(04:50):
magnetism as well, whatever you want to call it, there's
a lot of words for it that are all over
my head. In fact, what draws magnets together is not
the magnetism, because that keeps them apart. It's there, what's
the words, it's the opposite polarity of magnetism. Funny enough,

(05:11):
what we call magnets because they come together. It's actually
the opposite of their magnetic nature that brings them together.
The magnetic nature of those objects is what actually keeps
them apart when you're bringing the same polls together. So
it's interesting when you learn more and more about it,

(05:31):
and when we think of what it means to be
one with the universe, we can't escape this idea that
what we truly are is awareness because it brings the
universe together. As we talked about, it's what allows anyone
to experience anything from the smallest amiba to a bug

(05:53):
or a rodent if you want to call them that,
to a human indeed, all life in a way the
way is sacred, is sacred because we share in this
divine light that we call the spiritual sun, the spiritual
sunshine of the universe. And so that's what we talk

(06:17):
about when we're here at Spiritual Sunshine, and that's our
topic for today. In fact, I want to dive deep
on what it means to have a greater awareness, a
greater will power in the world, a greater strength, a
greater embodiment, because we know what it's like when we're

(06:38):
feeling weak in a situation. I mean, there's all kinds
of versions of that for me where I feel like
I come out of something a little I don't know, disjointed,
maybe a little disconnected, little confused as I am right

(07:02):
now as I make sure this video is still going.
And we can feel that in any situation when we
talk to friends, we might come away from an experience saying,
you know, I didn't really feel quite there. I felt misheard, misunderstood,
felt like I couldn't get a word in. You know,
maybe it's a group of friends and we feel like
we're kind of on the outs. You know. Sometimes when

(07:22):
we have a best friend and there's other friends near
that we don't really know or we're kind of you know,
threatened by, we can posture and we can kind of
try to shut them out. You know. Some call it
like a beta move, right, And I think we've all
been in that experience where we feel a little jealous

(07:43):
and feel like we want to, you know, kind of
control things a little more. We want more attention, and
it goes further than that, beyond social situations. When it
comes to addiction, we can feel despondent after giving in
to something. I know what it might be for you,
But a lot of our addictions are approved by society.

(08:05):
You know what I mean, Watching Netflix, strolling on TikTok,
diving in deep on a topic on YouTube or x
or Twitter or whatever you want to call it Reddit,
you know, diving deep on topic in a library, and
just feeling like we can't escape this mode of being,

(08:27):
whether it's learning, whether it's falling into drug addiction, whether
it's porn addiction, whether it's yearning to be with someone
and having to deal with not being received, trying to
find someone else, no matter what it is. It could

(08:50):
be religion, it could be spirituality. We can dive too deep,
we can find ourselves disconnected, destroy it. And so what
we learned is that in those situations, if we bring
more awareness to them, bring more understanding and yes, compassion

(09:11):
for ourselves to them, we can find a greater strength.
I recently heard something interesting from a Harvard psychologist on
a podcast. I'll have to They call him doctor K.
I don't know his whole name, and he was talking

(09:32):
about how in the studies around willpower, we find that
if you bring more attention to them, willpower increases. And
he pointed out that if you really think about what
it means to have willpower, kind of comes back to
just being more aware. So if we're struggling with addiction,

(09:55):
whatever it is, there's one side of things that once
at one way, and then there's another aspect to our
mind or bodies, our nervous system, whatever it is, that
wants it another way. And so when we are struggling,
there's an attention there on the struggle. When we're applying willpower,

(10:16):
it could be said that we're applying more awareness. Something
about willpower involves more awareness, and when we don't have
an awareness of that thing, that situation, that yearning, then
there is no real struggle. We just fall into it.
We're automated, as he said, And this is something we've

(10:38):
talked about for a long time, but it was cool
just hearing it from someone else. You know, a lot
of people talk about these things now, but he had
a real insight here that awareness equates to willpower, and
I hadn't really thought about it in such clear terms
before that awareness, that light, that spiritual light that we

(10:59):
have called consciousness, It relates to willpower on an equal basis.
And when we're more automated, when we're just falling into situations,
when we're not bringing awareness to them, we don't have willpower.
In those situations, there's no struggle. And so indeed, if
we want to find more willpower when it comes to

(11:21):
our addictions, we just need to apply more awareness. We
need to bring a heightened sense of awareness to that situation.
That's what I got from his talks and that's what
I find in my life. Right you probably see it
in yours as well. Thinking about it that when we're

(11:42):
more aware of how our emotions are turning, we have
a heightened sense of agency, heightened sense of distance from
those emotions because we're aware of what's going on, heightened
sense of distance from that sense of personality we call
ourselves that id you know, as they say ego, you know,

(12:08):
we have a heightened sense of oh, oh, there's this
mind or these feelings or these thoughts that come up
and want to behave a certain way, And so we
have some greater strength in that we have a greater
willpower in the spaciousness of just being aware, in the

(12:31):
presence of just being more aware. And that's really all
it takes to find some progress and whatever it is
that you want to maybe find an escape from emotionally mindfully,

(12:51):
we just have to apply that light that some believe
comes from the Creator, the spiritual son of creation, the
Creator create tricks, the create trists, the Holy One or
not holy at all, depending on your perspective, but just

(13:14):
the creativity of the universe. It uses awareness to solidify
the universe. The more awareness in a moment, the more
things are coming together in wholeness, you could say, and
that's true for ourselves inwardly as well. The more awareness,
the more things come into wholeness. And like sunlight, the
more light we shine on those inner dark pools, those

(13:39):
inner swamps, those inner bogs, the more things start to heal,
the more growth we see, the more illumination. We can
avoid the crocodiles and the alligators or what have you,
the water moccasins. We can come to have a better
integration with the aspects of ourselves without killing them, right,

(14:03):
We can just avoid falling prey to them, allowing them
to have they're momentary. You know, if you're in a
boat or if you're walking through with the right gear
and you notice something like that, you avoid it, but
it's still there, it's still alive. There's a life to
our negative side as well. There's a life, but we

(14:26):
don't have to embody it. We can kind of treat
it more like you know, that bog, that zoo, but
more freedom there to escape, to find space, to find
breath and light and health. So it's really nice, right
you can start to fill that empowerment just thinking about

(14:48):
this a little bit, like, Oh, all I have to
do is bring more awareness. I don't have to fight
to overcome this addiction. And I think that's actually true
that we find more agency even when it comes to
I don't know, drug addiction, food addiction, self harm. We

(15:13):
can find more agency, more ability to just be our
true selves to kind of overcome when we just bring
more light, more awareness, more compassion as well, because we
can't forget compassion, can't forget the warmth of what it

(15:33):
means to be sunlight, what it means to be a
human really born from sunlight. I mean, how could we
not be right all the life around us empowered by sunlight.
We eat plants, or we eat things that eat plants.
Where does that energy comes from? Its sun. It's the sun.

(15:55):
We're an embodiment of divine light, of energetic offering. You
could say that's what we are, energetic offering. You could
say we're like a river. Things come in and we
do stuff, we eat, we drink, we breathe air, which
is also something we consume. And then we are we are,

(16:22):
and so in a way, we're like the sun. We
offer ourselves to the earth. We're an expression of what
it means to be the universe. And that's why it's
okay to just be at times, to just be and
be okay, because that's what the sun does. Before it

(16:43):
was so shining and bright, it was just perfect still,
but also at rest. It was at a state of
formation of bringing things to it through what we call gravity.
And then as it grew, as it became more settled,

(17:07):
what happened, right, a greater flame started to burn and
then lo and behold. Millennia later, we have life on
the surrounding planets, at least one of them, probably more
underground in times past and times future, and we know

(17:35):
that these things just come together so perfectly, because when
we look at how the universe has been created has evolved,
we see that things just come together so nicely, and
there's so much statistical perfection, right, so much statistical beauty.

(17:59):
You know. They all always say, if this hadn't been perfect,
then this whole thing would have fallen apart. If that
hadn't been right to a t, which is such a
low percentage chance, we wouldn't have life on this planet,
we wouldn't have the Solar System, planets couldn't form, Space,

(18:21):
wouldn't be space the way it is, etc. Etc. And
so there's a perfection. There's some kind of perfection to
this universe, whether it's just by random chance, maybe there's
a lot of universes or something else, something more conscious.
There's a perfection here, and it's something that we can

(18:46):
relate to, we can accept as part of ourselves, because
you can't separate us from what's around us. We're part
of this shining forth that we call the universe, the
one realm the universe. So thank you for joining me
today here on Spiritual Sunshine. Be sure to subscribe or

know what you think I'm curious where your thoughts go
when it comes to this topic, and just go forth

(19:29):
find greater wholeness in terms of peace, in terms of compassion,
in terms of understanding, as you bring awareness which brings
