with it being hot. Yeah, I'm not looking forward to it.
I like Halloween, but not the cool weather.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Yeah, and of course, P show Brian, how's it going
over there in the old Midwest?
Speaker 4 (01:13):
You know, I had my like sweatshirts on. I was
wearing my pants really comfortable. Cool breeze is blowing in
and it's gonna be like ninety Saturday.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Yeah, it was eighty today and it got very humid,
and I was like, oh, last night I think we
had heat on, and now I got to put an
air on.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
I know, like I'm working from home this morning. I
had a sweatshirt on. It felt super comfortable, And then
I'm like, why am I sweating at like three o'clock
in the afternoon. Oh yeah, it's because it's fucking eighty
five degrees outside.
Speaker 2 (01:37):

as far as I'm concerned, but it's a Patreon dot
com back slash spitball meta. It's only five dollars. That's
a third of my peacock bill. Apparently shot. All of
my streaming services went up. I started looking at them
today and I got very depressed.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Yeah, I used to I used to love physical media,
which I still do, man, but I mean the pricing
for that is even going up. Where you know, everything,
everything entertainment wise is going up. Man, It's just it's wild.
I'm paying like fifty bucks a movie now, man, it's.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Oh yeah, that's a that's a quality in Atlanta City.
Not that I would know, but yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
What I've read movies are pretty much like anywhere between
forty dollars, like eighty bucks.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Now, yeah, just a flat out movie, well.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Like the you know, with like a nice fock. But
but if you're getting just like a standard regular ass
movie with just nothing, you're paying thirty thirty five bucks.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Yeah, wow, well b show. I stand by it.
Speaker 1 (03:21):

My god, who the fuck knows? We could be waking
up to a whole new landscape for streaming tomorrow. Not
to mention films, but thank you guys for chilling, and
of course for keeping the lights on in this place now.
Huge story coming out of the box office last weekend.
I'm dying to hear everyone's interpretation of this. The Conjuring
(05:58):
is a fucking block buster of epic proportion. How big
is the conjuring most recent output?
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Well, I think it's the eleventh highest grossing opening weekend
of all time, and maybe.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
The third for horror. B sho G.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Check me on this because I know the numbers are
just be impressive. Doesn't even cover it.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
Yeah, I'm looking for the actual number, but unfortunately the
link you sent me is not taking me where I
want to ge.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Oh is it for a city sweety picks instead? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (06:28):
I know.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
Sorry.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
The Cleric of Chaos is back. Yeah, it's up to him.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
Much love cleric. Let's see. So according to screen Rant,
the Conjuring Last Rites box office overtakes a top ten
movie of the century. This is one of the top
ten of this century.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
I said, yeah, like, I think it's one of the
eleventh gross movie of full time.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
It's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
I was that, all right, what is the actual number,
because I think it's gonna have a big second weekend?
Speaker 2 (06:52):
Two? No. One has one hundred and eighty four eighty
four no global though, because it opened global it said
eighty four.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
I thought it was a lot more than that.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
I thought it was. Why are you short about that?
Speaker 4 (07:05):
Eighty four million dollars start. The film's performance is also
strong internationally, so yeah, it might be one hundred and
eighty four with international.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Yeah, let's see if we can get the full box office.
But shot, I mean, this is just I have so
I'm a head scratcher. It doesn't begin to cover it.
Because I'm just gonna set the table here. I don't
know anyone who likes this franchise very much. I never
see it talked about in the horrid groups that we're in.
I only see like kind of middle of the road
I don't see people who know, like you know, French
(07:33):
early two thousands are like people who like Frontiers, you know.
To me, Shot, I feel like, oh, one hundred and
eighty seven million.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
One hundred and ninety four, one hundred and ninety four, Shot,
why is this happening?
Speaker 3 (07:50):
I mean, it's they're trying to appear, you know, to
like the general audience is it's a base of pitch
movie dude. I mean, and CIDI has did one hundred million,
but that was over a couple of weeks. It was
just the opening week. But I expected this to do phenomenal.
I don't know how I feel about it because I
don't like the franchise. I don't like Blumhouse. I don't
particularly care for this at all. Pot probably will never
(08:11):
watch it, to be honest with you. So I'm not
happy in that sense because I don't like it when
Blumhouse wins, because I don't I don't want the whole
genre to just be Blumhouse movies. But at the same time,
it is, at the end of the day, all win
for horror. So yeah, I'm happy in that sense, but
I don't support the conjuring anybody that's behind it. It's
not just not my type of movie. I am really
(08:34):
kind of surprised though, because I mean, the last one
didn't do well at all.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
Well, there was COVID, remember they released it on HBO
Max and in theaters.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
It was one of these covid kind of.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
But everybody hated it too, you know what I mean.
For this, Yeah, for this to outdo the first one
and the second one, it's kind of weird when the
last one was dogs.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
I don't think the first ones are terrible. I just
I think they go on a slope and they go downward.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Be sure.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
I am befuddled that this is now the tenth highest
gross gross opening of all time.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
Yeah, it's kind of an anomaly in a way. Like
I know they're popular, and I know they're middle of
the road, and I know they're they're made for general audiences.
I think rich daut said something about.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
Yeah, these are for people who don't like horror movies.
I said that too.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
It's a minivan of horror, so they're safe. And look,
I told you there's a lot of people I've noticed.
I'm starting to get kind of pissed and a little protective.
Halloween is getting a little basic bitch, like your average
basic bitch, like how I don't want to say house frows,
it's not right, but like your average person now was like, ooh,
let's start Halloween in September, and it's.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Like, which is a thing.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
Now it's everywhere I know, and like for people like
us that enjoy this shit, I'm fine with it because
I do know people that keep their decorations up year round.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
Crazy, but I know some people like that. However, to
see like the pumpkin spice latte people, they're like, I
want to give you see the conjuring. It's just I
think that's what it is. It's gotta be what it is.
There's nothing else.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
You think all the whites are making this money for them?
Speaker 4 (10:03):
I think so.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
You think it's a white people think it could be
shot that's actually is this a white people movie?
Speaker 3 (10:09):
I don't want what to say. It just like just
white people, but it's yours. It's the basic bitch movie.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
You can call them hockeys.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
It's your casual your casual audience, your casual horror audience
that watches maybe two movies a year, Insidious and Conner. However,
I think we should also factor in that like, you know,
movies used to cost what five bucks in the seventies
seven eight bucks, So for this to be one hundred
and ninety four million, it's probably also because movies cost
fucking twenty dollars again, okay.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
But still shot, this is one hundred and yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
But I mean just we're not We're not going off
of how many tickets are sold. I don't think this
is this is breaking you know, the top ten of
tickets ever sold. It's just the most money because it costs.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
So yeah, but they I mean, that's that's neither here
nor dad. Though. I mean I saw Eat for two dollars.
I mean, like you know, when I was a kid,
I saw a Rocky three.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
Ye, that's what I mean. Though, this would never be
in the top ten if we were calculating it by tickets,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Well, a lot of things wouldn't be in the top ten.
So this I believe B Show and.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Sinners and Final Destination are like the three movies right now,
like these are the ones bringing it. I think combined,
we're looking at global half a bill.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
Between these movies.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
In fact, I saw an article today. You might have
sent it to us or I might have just seen
it on Twitter that they're already starting to push a
campaign for the Oscars or whatever it is, for Sinners
and for Final Destination.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
I think, well, no, no, no, Sinners and weapons web
Oh that's right, weapons, that's right, Sinners.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Weapons.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
I don't read very well.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
And the DiCaprio movie, which I did want to throw
in here a little bit, has nothing to do with horror.
But they're looking like it's looking like Paul Thomas Anderson
and DiCaprio getting Academy Award nominations based on early reviews.
You know, a lot of people in the chat are saying,
you know, look, some of them were good. Some of
these movies were good. I'm not shitting on it as
a franchise shot.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
I just I don't.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
It's to me that I know no one who runs
to these every time they come out, crows about them.
And we are in a lot of horror circles, a
lot of broad stroke horror movie circles, you know. So
it has to be that the basic audience is the
middle of the Like, this is like what like like
for you to go see a Serbian film.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
This is there, This is like the middle of the road.
Serbian film to people.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
Yeah, I mean I think for the most part, it's
also the younger generation. I know my sister was super
hyph for it. She went out like the opening night
with all of her friends. So but I mean, this
is this is like, I don't know, are you guys
actually surprised that this did well? Like I'm surprised that
it did one hundred ninety four, But I existed.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
Shot this did like and I as grossed the opening
of all time. You thought it would crack at top ten.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
Not eying it was the top ten. But I mean
if it was one hundred million, I wouldn't be surprised,
because I mean, it's the conjuring, it's I see it
talked about all the time on Facebook groups as well.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
They promoted the piss out of this unlike other horror.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
Just in general. Though I hear about it's in people's
top tens all the time, It's just not in my
circle in my personal life, I don't see some people
talking about But online I see you mentioned all the time.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
You know, yeah, sure I have, I have I want
to see the movie because but if a movie does
because we both know this is doing thirty forty fifty
million over the weekend. It just is global.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
We're looking at possibly sixty to fifty million in the
box office. This weekend doesn't have a lot of competition. Okay,
so it does have the long road, the long walk.
Excuse me, I believe that's this weekend. If I'm not mistaken,
and I'm.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
Not hearing anyone talk about that fucking movie.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
Well, it's in ninety six at Rotten Tomatoes. Be sure,
can we pull up the conjurings Rotten Tomatoes. Yeah, I'm
very curious to this. By the way, anyone in the
chat seeing this movie, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
I Drew Allari might have seen it. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
With a movie like this, you feel I don't know
anyone who saw I mean the people I know see it,
don't talk about horror movies.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
This does not surprise me.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Here we go.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
Okay, fifty seven percent critics score.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Okay, that sounds all right.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
In on top ten movie.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
Yeah this Yeah, guys, this looks pretty on the on
the nose. The audience that goes to see it, you know,
eighty percent of the audience loves it and less than
sixty percent of the.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
So this isn't even certified fresh and it's the top
ten highest crimson movie shot of full time.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
Man, I would expect, like, what do you think Jurassic
Park is? Like movies like that? Like that, That's what
I would expect in a top ten Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones,
Jaws like movies.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
We've got over this before.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
I feel like Conjuring four, what.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Did the original do? The Original is not a terrible movie.
Conceptually it was new people saw it. It was you know,
it was jump scare galore. But look at that B show.
Eighty six for the critics, eighty three for the audience.
I would a solid C plus.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
I think so. And you know the first No One's fine.
There's some cool little site gags in it, some stuff
I thought was fine. I think this is your prototypical
movie that we used to see when we were kids.
John where like, well, I guess in different generations, but still,
and I think you're gonna know what I mean. This
is one of the movies you take your girlfriend too,
because she's gonna want to like, oh my god, and
jump into your arms and share a popcorn with I
(15:18):
don't think this is for hardcore horror people, and by design,
it's not going to be as widely respected by critics
and people like us.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
So I'm pulling up the opening movies this weekend. Here's
its competition, Demon Slayer Infinite. I guess that's some type
of anime.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
The Long Walk, Spinal Tap two, Downton Abbey, Freaky Your Friday,
and Weapons are still in theaters.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
And then there's Caught Stealing, which is the uh Aronofski movie,
which I don't think is doing very well at the
box office, so it doesn't have incredible competition shot other
than The Long Walk. Now we have another big, good
horror property that's getting excellent reviews. I believe it's somewhere
about ninety six right now, The Long Walk on Rotten Tomatoes.
(16:05):
Is the Long Walk gonna get hurt shot from the
popularity of the Conjuring because I don't know that they
factored this in when they released these so quickly back
to back.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Yeah, I don't think they have the same audience. So
the Long Walk isn't like a horror movie or anything,
is it.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
It's a Stephen King property. They're promoting it like it's
the guy who did Black One?
Speaker 3 (16:23):
Is that the Long Oh shit? I remember that one? Yeah,
that really good. I remember that.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
I think it's.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
I don't know, I mean, that's not really necessarily a
horror movie, but I do think that they do cross.
As far as the audience, I don't know. I mean,
I don't expect that movie to do well, you know,
if anything. Yeah, I don't think that's gonna do more
than like ten to fifteen million or something like that too.
I don't think that's gonna do a lot.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
Okay, shout out to Marquise joining us.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
Are you expecting it to do more than ten million
opening weekend?
Speaker 1 (16:53):
Yeah, because it's got good reviews, and then promoted the
ball every horror movie I saw since, like March, I've
seen this trailer before, B show.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
What's the Long Walk looking like right now on Rotten Tomatoes?
And what do you think about it? Competing with the
Conjuring and Conjuring just seems like a fucking it's gonna
quab or everything again. It might.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
I also saw a note in that article about the
box office that they expect a forty six percent drop off,
so who knows if it's gonna be long lived. I
haven't seen anyone really talking about The Long Walk other
than us and people in our circles. So who knows.
But right now it's sitting pretty respectable with a ninety
four percent critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
She's I mean, it's shots coming out of the gate,
certified fresh. And you know people I know when not
these people, but you do know a lot of people.
They do look for this before they go see a film.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
Clearly, Yeah, for sure. We watched the trailer. It looked interesting. Yeah,
and I don't really remember much about it. I can't
really see too much because I don't remember it, but
it did I like the concept, you know, it seems
about rich and I don't.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Know the short story. B show Joe Punches is saying
it's projected to do between six and eleven million. That
sounds like a pretty weak number.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
Yeah, but in line with what Shaw said, it's like
usually you can get kind of a feeling for this.
I saw ads for the Conjuring all over the place,
so I kind of knew it was going to be
over social media. I haven't seen much for the Long
Walk since we watched the trailer. I haven't seen much
for anything unless I go to the theater to see
a movie. So not surprised Stephen King's been hot and
(18:22):
cold and what was the last property was the Monkey?
But that also had some steam on it because of
the long legs.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
Yeah, and it did, did, I don't know it did.
Respectable people seem to really enjoy it.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
And it was oz good Perkins, so they were cashing
in on, you know, long legs being such a fucking hit.
And I do recall when I saw The Monkey in
theaters there was a lot of people there, way more
than I thought that would be. I might get to
The Long Walk this weekend. I really want to see it.
The star is Cooper Hoffman, which is the son of
(18:50):
Philip Seymour Hoffman and the co star.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
Of the most recent Aliens movie. Uh, the guy who
played the synthetic There. They're the two and more Cammell.
So even though more camels.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
Of raging douchebag, these two dudes, these two kids are good,
you know. But Seah, if you had to pick one
to see, You're one could see The Long Walk if
you had to go to the.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
Movies, right, yeah, yeah, I have no interest in seeing
the conjuring. By the way, I looked up the top
three highest grosses movie grossing movies. Number three is the
excess at four hundred and forty one hundred thousand. Number
two is it Chapter two which did four to seventy three?
And number one is it with US seven hundred and
(19:30):
one hundred thousands. That's fucking crazy.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
Well, it was a big It was a hit.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
Though it was a hit, I didn't expect it to
almost do a fuck way above have a billion.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
No, I had no idea it was that success.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
Seven hundred and one.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
Yeah, that's monstrous. It's monstrous, I mean. But also keep
in mind this is a famous property, you know, like
it was a big deal. It was a mini series,
it was a superstar book. Most people know the story.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
They wanted to see the new Pennywise, a lot of
reasons to go check that out, and it was well received.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
But speaking of big Bucks, I am just blown away
by this the more I look into this.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
So you have the Sphere in Las Vegas, which is
an immersive sort of unique viewing experience.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
Concerts have been there, there's been residencies, and they're currently oh,
the Bayo Geeks is joining us. They're currently showing The
Wizard of Oz with Justice. Extraordinary sort of way to
view that movie. That is what's seventy years old if
I might even be maybe more than.
Speaker 4 (20:28):
That, there was like nineteen thirty five or something like that.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
Well, anyway, it's generating two million a day, and they
predict it'll do a billion before the residency ends. And
here's just a little can we blow that up possibly?
I mean, this is what it looks like. Look, I
mean this is the opening scene. There there's shit you
play it. There's shit flying in the air through the
(20:51):
actual air for you.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
I mean, shad. This just looks like a Universal Studios experience.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
Yeah. I sent you guys a couple of clips of
this a couple of weeks ago. Man, this looks like
a fucking incredible experience. There's a scene where the apples
are falling and they have like actual like little.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
I wish I could experience this. Man, this looks fucking
like a once in a life And this is the
perfect movie to do it, you know, like, wow, look
at that. What other movie can they do this with?
Speaker 4 (21:23):
Can you?
Speaker 2 (21:25):
I think caular Aar Avatar would probably be Avatar would
be extraordinary. I think Jurassic Park the first one.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
Oh, that'd be crazy.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
Four two Porky's revenge. See like.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
This is what bothers me about this though, is they're
not just changing and adding to the scenery to make
it more immersive. Look at is there also, like look
at the Wizard. It looks completely computer.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
It looks like my nutsack after I shave it.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
Hopefully it's not green. You gotta check that out. Due, Yeah,
I'm irish, it's really the emerald balls.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
Yeah, yes, I have an emerald ball sack. I've talked
about it for years.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
Hello, speaking to John's emerald balls. You get everything you
wished for?
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Darthy show?
Speaker 1 (22:08):
Do we how much they're charging to go see this?
I could only imagine what people are plucking dance.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
I have no idea, but as far as if they're
you know, using AI generation for anything, they are like,
I'm okay with this because you know, they kind of
have to redo it for the experience otherwise it's not
going to look like this.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
Well.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
Actually, according to some people who were worked on the project,
it's not all AI because someone got mad. People were
complaining about it on social media.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
Of course the beginning people shit all over it. Now
everyone's obsessed with it.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
Yeah, they were saying, oh, this is the problem with
AI and it's transforming this great property. And these these
graphic artists came out and were like, uh no, we
worked hard on this.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
Yeah, exactly do we have what the yellow brick road
looks like. I'm just curious because that's really like a
big thing, you know. I just thought of another one, Twister.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
Yeah, twister would be cool in the chat.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
Throw your throw yours in there. What you think would
be good? Dude, curious eyes wide shut. Now that's not
gonna happen, but that would.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
Be I would love to see Deep Blue Sea also,
I think that would look crazy, not Jaws. Deep Blue
Sea specifically just because it has all the like the
underground chambers with all the water and the different sharks
coming out.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
That was cool. They had a giant inflatable like legs
sticking out like the sphere dropped like the.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Sphear dropped on the witch. Ye guys, this look. Can
you imagine saying this?
Speaker 1 (23:30):
I mean, look at the collars, imagine the screen, third generation,
imagine mushrooms in this.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
Can you imagine you imagine my ass in this? Oh,
con Floyd's the Wall.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
Now, apparently they've been in talks with Disney to do
stuff like Star Wars, which would be cool. Could you
imagine the trench run at the end of.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
The original St. Jones the ball Oh ship.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
Yeah, you could do a lot here, guys, you could
do a lot of Terminator.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
I don't think they do R rated because it closes.
Speaker 4 (24:03):
It would have to be something so like immersive that
you have to be like in and around it.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
Though.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
I don't think you'll take Jurassic Park. You know, movies
like that are.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
Probably are rated.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
Seems like again you'll lose it and you have My
children are probably at this, which is why it's making
so much money.
Speaker 4 (24:16):
He's just look at the flying monkeys.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
Fuck you, this is incredible.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
I gotta say I'm doing a one eight on it now.
Looking at all this ship, this looks pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
Yeah, Avatar, I.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
Think it would be a huge.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
That's the one I would see them doing next is Avatar.
That wouldn't be surprised if they do some don't like
Fast and the Furious Man, something like that.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
Again, I don't think they're doing R rated movies.
Speaker 4 (24:42):
Fearious family, Right, let's check out. Let's check out some
of the ones. Okay, so we got Frank, He says.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
Star Wars anything Muppets. Whoever brought up the muppets for sure? Yeah, Mark,
he said that I could.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
See Dark Side of the Fan by Titanic, Dark Side
of the Moon. No, but Pink Floyd's the Wall.
Speaker 4 (25:01):
Oh, Donstony says, one night in China, iiO.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
Yeah, possibly possibly. Let's see the Conjuring four the Country four.
It made enough money, doesn't need to make anyone.
Speaker 4 (25:12):
One hundred and sixty three to three hundred dollars a
ticket depending on seating. That's not bad compared to other
shit going on right now.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
Wow, Endgame Avengers, Endgame Beaus. Was it one hundred and
sixty three a ticket? Dude?
Speaker 4 (25:23):
That final battle with Endgame?
Speaker 1 (25:25):
Yeah, that would be People lose the fucking minds. You
lose your minds, Like, yeah, look, this is a thing.
I think we need an East Coast version of this.
Frankly shot, what do you think I mean?
Speaker 3 (25:38):
Now that I think about it, THO, one hundred and
sixty is kind of crazy, dude, once we add Taxi
Wizard of Oz, Yeah, it's like two hundred bucks after
taxes and popcorn and ship that's two hundred person. You know,
you go with one go on a date, man, You
almost spend a five hundreds a day.
Speaker 4 (25:51):
Remember it's Vegas too.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
Yeah, everything's expensive bottle Yeah, and nobody goes there. So
it's like it's completely it's like what Atlantic City was
eight years.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
It is it just all money laundering? Still, is that
what they.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
Nobody goes there. It's it's nobody goes. It's too expensive.
It's a lot of a lot of nonsense going on there.
It's just not worth it.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
You know, most people have legalized gambling in proximity where
they live. Yeah, we've got another thing. Yeah, everybody's got it.
I have it.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
I have it Upstate New York. You know what I mean,
I can go you've had it, you have seen it
fifte yeah, exactly. So it's not like it was fifteen
to even fifteen ten years ago when it was like
it was a destination. You know, although my brother Mike
just went to AC in July and he said AC
still has like a coolness to it. It's not as
you know, it's it's like basically all the old shit
(26:39):
is dead and gone and they put newer shit. So
but it's uber expensive, and you know a lot of
people are just addicted to keep going. Somebody said minus
one Godzilla.
Speaker 4 (26:47):
Wow, I will notice this though. I watched Godzilla minus
one and on my new TV, I can't turn off
like the motion stabilization. It looks really bad. Oh, it's
like the Godzilla effects look terrible.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Well, listen, it's good. This is a thing. It's gonna
be a thing. It's super successful.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
People are I'm sure if we went and saw this,
you know, even a little drunk or a little high,
we would just we would be like in tears watching it,
like oh, like you know, to the bitter end. So
I think it's gonna be It's gonna be part of
our lives, and it's gonna be something that residencies they're
gonna find bigger and better to do there. You know,
Now that we're getting closer to the Halloween season, we
(27:24):
wanted to check in and see if anybody's watched anything.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
I sadly have not. I did catch up with Aliens
TV show. It is getting some slack now. Some people
find it boring. I enjoy it. I'm having a great
time with it. Other than the Godsmack song at the
end of this week's episode, I'm on board. That was
My friend Julia was like, that was such a huge
jump to Shark And I'm like, I know because I've
(27:48):
giving us bangers and now they gave us like which
one was the first.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
Big song they had? God Smith like draw men?
Speaker 3 (27:57):
Is it the snake song?
Speaker 2 (27:58):
No, prior to that, it's even before that. That's the
That's it. And I'm like, oh, this doesn't fit at all,
but I'm enjoying it. You know.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
I'm getting ready for Hollow's Eve, trying to catch up
with some some horror movies. We'll talk a little bit
more about that on the on the post. So have
you caught up to anything this week?
Speaker 2 (28:15):
I know I just mentioned to you Weapons is on
digital now.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
No, nothing new. I've been watching a bunch of like
classic movies. I've been watching a bunch of comedies recently. Actually, okay, yeah,
I kind of I don't know, man, Once in a while,
I like, I like going back and watching like old
comedies and anything throw out there. You don't give me
a second, I'll bring a second.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
I forgot b show.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
You caught up to two movies both I've seen one
recently one not that long ago, Companion with that gorgeous
kid in it and what's her face?
Speaker 2 (28:48):
Gorgeous? Just stunning.
Speaker 4 (28:49):
Sophie Thatcher, Sophie Thatcher.
Speaker 2 (28:51):
Never can remember her name, always remember her face and
clown in.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
A Cornfield so B Show companion. You know, I was
disappointed in it. I didn't think it was a write
script and I just thought it was very hokey.
Speaker 4 (29:03):
I would have to agree. I enjoyed it for what
it was. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I thought
it was an interesting like the idea was better than
I guess the overall script and performances. I thought she
did a really good job, and I like this situation
that she was in good.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
Jack Quaid, I like Jack Wade, I watch Boys, I
like Jack Wade.
Speaker 4 (29:21):
Yeah, and it's funny because, like I really wish and
I think we talked about this when the trailer came out.
I wish they wouldn't have given it away in the
trailer because they could have played that initially.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
They didn't initially what she was.
Speaker 4 (29:33):
They they not in the first one.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
They sold it out a little further down the line.
Speaker 4 (29:37):
Yeah, but that's what I'm saying is you could have
gone probably a good twenty to thirty minutes into that
movie without knowing what's going on, and then when it flips,
it's like, oh shit, okay.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Yeah, I didn't. I didn't like the second act. I
found I didn't like. I found that I didn't like
anyone on any of the characters. Like, you know, she's
a robot, so I was like, who gives a fuck?
But like, you know, clearly, if you have a robot
like that, you gotta that into another century. I mean,
there's just no like, you know, I thought they I
thought that could have been. Honestly, and this is gonna
sound a little sleazy, I thought it should have been
(30:08):
a hard R movie where he's just pounding this robot
all the time into oblivion and then the roebuck gets
tired of it and then turns on.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
I think that would have been a much more interesting story.
Like if me a goth was the robot, that's what
we would have got, Well, it would have been.
Speaker 4 (30:21):
It would have been I guess a little bit more
what's the word indulgent?
Speaker 2 (30:24):
Sure, but I don't think they were.
Speaker 4 (30:26):
Going for that.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
You know, the fact she's literally a sex spot. I mean, like,
that's that's what she kind of.
Speaker 4 (30:32):
Was, I know, but the idea was that she didn't
know that, right and in a relationship and she's sentient
and she's in programmed to do anything to make him
happy and to feel and then he's fucking with the settings.
So like, to me, it was fine because the concept
was okay, first she doesn't know. Then what happens if
you have a sentient robot that thinks it's alive and
(30:56):
has these fake memories and you're bibing him with these
things that make it feel real, right, and then what's
the ethical efficacy of that type of shit? And then
when you start programming it to do bad shit and
then you want to shut it down, and then the
thing tries to survive, Like it's almost like what's going on?
Speaker 2 (31:11):
Yeah, what's going on right now?
Speaker 4 (31:13):
Is like where is this going?
Speaker 2 (31:15):
It's it was cool. What did you think of Clown
at a Cornfield?
Speaker 4 (31:19):
Both better and worse than I expected?
Speaker 2 (31:22):
Yeahs has moments and then you're.
Speaker 4 (31:23):
Like, you know, yeah, the main girl in it tiny,
very cute, very time.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
Yeah, she's good. I like that kid.
Speaker 4 (31:31):
My daughter said she's in some other movies. I think
she's like in her like mid to late twenties.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
Or something, not that younger. I think, yeah, she's been
around a hot minute. But yeah, I'm terrible.
Speaker 4 (31:40):
A couple interesting twists. The only issue is I felt
like I was watching Hot Fuzz because like, by the
end of the movie, I'm like, come on, I kind
of saw this coming. It was you'll ruin it for me,
not ruin. The movie just like kept taking me out
of it. I cannot, fucking for the life of me
take Will Sasso seriously. Oh he's a right his voice,
(32:01):
ma'am Will.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
He's an impressionist too, so it's I know.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
But like to me, it was a movie that that
bordered on horror comedy in areas, but then when he
would show up, it's like Jack Black, right, Jack Black
shows up like when he was in Star Wars. I
love Jack Black, but Jack Black is always Jack Black.
It's always, hey, everybody, I'm a Jack of Black.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
I got a light saber.
Speaker 4 (32:27):
Like he could never be a Jedi Knight.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
He's not winning an Academy Award anytime soon. But I
thought the killings look good. I thought they looked okay, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (32:34):
Lots of good killings, some good ideas.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
I think that's why people like it. Honestly, it's the kills.
Speaker 4 (32:39):
Yeah, and the one big dude, the bat, the mayor
or whatever. The fucking weird teeth that looks kind of
like Elon Musk. Yeah, creepy motherfucker.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
That dude's a voice actor and a character actor. He's
been in a ton of shit. That dude has been
a gajillion things.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
He's more. He does a lot of voice acting and
stuff like that.
Speaker 4 (32:55):
John, you wanted to see companion. According to Don Stoney.
Speaker 1 (32:58):
I'm just saying, if that, if that had if that
Sophie Thatcher Road, But I just I'd be banging until
the warranty ran out?
Speaker 2 (33:04):
Shot? What what did you want to grab for us?
Speaker 6 (33:07):
So?
Speaker 3 (33:07):
I watched two comedies. I don't really want to get
into those too much. Everybody seen them funny people. I
watched again and Get Him to the Greek. I wanted
to buy that. I like a lot more than I
wanted to get a physical copy of it, because I
was like, you know, with all the Diddy stuff, like
once this goes out.
Speaker 2 (33:22):
Of and Russell and Russell for that matter, I was like,
all right.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Once this Blu Ray goes to out of print, I
don't think they're going to upgrade this movie to four K.
So I feel like, once it's out of print, it's
gonna be on eBay for eighty dollars and I'm not
paying eighty dollars for a shitty fucking five dollars blu ray.
So I got those two. These ones I really want
to get into. By the way, I watched the documentary
on Warner herd zog and the whole documentary was on
(33:48):
How Crazy He Is and it mainly covered fitz Fitzgaraldo.
Was that the name of the movie.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Maybe I don't know that documentary might be old. I
think I've seen it.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
Yeah, Fitzcaraldo. Yeah, have you ever seen that movie?
Speaker 2 (34:00):
No, but I've seen that documentary.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
Holy shit, man throw like he's just throw. You need
to see the movie that That ship is crazy. They
pulled a goddamn real life ship off of a fucking mountain. Yeah,
with with local tribes man using like wooden nothing else
pretty much. You know, they had a bulldozer, but I
think they pulled it with a bulldozer and it broke down.
(34:22):
This movie took years, I mean, because I mean it's insane. Please,
it's it's on YouTube. People need to watch this Warner
herdz documentary. It is fucking what else did Yeah? I
watched Fitzgaralo. Definitely, it definitely checked that out. I watched
this is a documentary, The Killing of America. You ever
see this? No, so documents all the crazy ship. It's
(34:46):
almost like Faces of Death, but not as gruesome. They
don't show the actual violence or anything like that, but
it covers everything that happened as far as violence, as
far as gang violence, any kind of assassination.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
What is that from?
Speaker 3 (34:58):
This is a seven? Seven put us out. I'm pretty
sure this might be on two B. You can look
it up. It's called The Killing America.
Speaker 2 (35:03):
I love that title.
Speaker 3 (35:05):
Yeah, and it's got a it's got all the serial killers,
you know, all their real trial footage and oh.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
Wow, okay, I want to check that out. Seven has it.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
Yeah, seven has it, And I'm pretty sure this is
on two B. And then the last documentary is also
from seven. It's called Sexploitation. So this covers the history
of titties and film. My favorite top there you go,
John from Black and White. There's no nudes on here,
so we can show us. But yeah, so this is super.
Speaker 4 (35:31):
On the Coverageohn Jesus chill say, I'm not one.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
I'm completely flaccid, but.
Speaker 3 (35:36):
Thank you, thank you very But as you can see, man,
it's got like footage from the sixties, seventies, eighties.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
Does it have like Russ Meyers movies in there? It
does something weird. Russ Meyers they actually.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
They just put out all the Ross Meyers, well not
all of them, but keep put out. I think four
or five of them.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
I own four K those Russ Meyers movies.
Speaker 3 (35:52):
When you're a kid, dude, they're on fucking four K. Now,
Russ Meers movies are on four fucking K.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
They're considered ClassX because they were so four caro.
Speaker 3 (36:03):
We still don't have fucking We still don't have some
really major movies.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
I know we don't have Barbarian on four K very
excited media, but we have Valley of the Dolls or
whatever like you know that would even be I.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
Have that criterion.
Speaker 2 (36:19):
Yea. What I'm saying, well, titties are more popular. What
do you want me to tell you?
Speaker 1 (36:23):
Everybody loves boobs, But speaking of boobs, yeah, that sounds awesome.
I I want to check both of those out. I'm
gonna have to run, you know now that Bisha, I'm
going to go back to to b Now that all
the horror movies are coming out now.
Speaker 4 (36:37):
Oh shit, yeah, you know, I'd be honest with Toby
is the undisputed champion of streaming. I think we should
do an endorsement deal with to B because we're like
the best value in podcasting and they're the best value
in streaming.
Speaker 2 (36:48):
This is very true.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
But we got some cool movie trailers we want to
check out, and one of them I have some mixed
feelings about. I haven't really watched the trailer because a
lot of people in my world, coming from like music,
are very protective of this movie, and I'm a such
a huge fan of like Christopher Guests movies in general.
So there is a long awaited, often thought never to
(37:11):
be done Spinal Tap sequel, and it's out in theaters
this weekend. I don't want to see it in the theater.
I don't need to see that theater. I'm a super
fan of Spinal Tap. It really is like a moment
in time. Rob Reiner really tapped into something They're pun intended,
and it's lived on for generations.
Speaker 2 (37:30):
It's one of those movies either people absolutely adore or
they just don't get. We're gonna check.
Speaker 1 (37:34):
Out now the Spinal Tap two trailer and it's opening
in theaters this weekend.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
Hi, I'm Martin de Bergie.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
Forty years ago, I was honored to direct the film
called forty years This is Spinal Tap good.
Speaker 5 (37:54):
Even.
Speaker 4 (37:55):
Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten
eleven number and make that all alone?
Speaker 3 (38:04):
These go to.
Speaker 2 (38:04):
Eleven top.
Speaker 4 (38:11):
Literature?
Speaker 3 (38:12):
Yeah, yeah, really, A lot has happened since the last
time I saw you, Cripto, have you been playing music
at all?
Speaker 2 (38:21):
At a pub?
Speaker 3 (38:26):
This is the site of Spinal Taps Reunion.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
Concert New Orleans.
Speaker 3 (38:30):
There was a cancelation.
Speaker 2 (38:32):
Who was supposed to be there.
Speaker 7 (38:34):
An evening with Stormy Daniels.
Speaker 8 (38:36):
Oh, there'll be the regular merch and hope has had
a rather brilliant.
Speaker 2 (38:43):
Says an artisan.
Speaker 4 (38:45):
We're still short drummer.
Speaker 2 (38:46):
What happened? He sneezed himself into.
Speaker 8 (38:49):
A Bolibeian's dogmatically possible, So you think he might fill
the bill?
Speaker 2 (38:53):
I don't want to go.
Speaker 8 (38:54):
We've only lost eleven or twelve drummers.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
The thing that you guys had as kids.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
Is there's still there. I'm in a band.
Speaker 3 (39:06):
The castle is breaking apart and coming back together.
Speaker 8 (39:10):
But the more we retreat into the music, the nicer
things becomes to be profound or anything, and it would
be the first time for me.
Speaker 3 (39:20):
Stonehead.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
Imagine, please wear something. There's a lot of.
Speaker 4 (39:31):
Interesting to.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
Wow, you're singing. Start.
Speaker 8 (39:36):
What we need to do is secure your legacy. If
during the gig at least one, but ideally no more
than two of you were to die, would you settle
for a coma.
Speaker 3 (39:47):
Oh no, that's interesting.
Speaker 8 (39:48):
You know, that's a great bit of thinking out the
little box.
Speaker 4 (39:51):
I suppose.
Speaker 1 (39:52):
Actually, Wow, okay, okay, I'm into it. I think this
looks great. I I hope it doesn't suck shot because
I love the original. It's just a very fun idea.
And I can't believe. I know they made them look
older because.
Speaker 2 (40:08):
They're supposed to be older, but I mean, it's just
a weird vibe to see, like Paul McCartney and Spinal Tap,
Like it's weird.
Speaker 3 (40:16):
Yeah, you guys will have to pardon my ignorance.
Speaker 2 (40:18):
But you have never seen Spinal Tap. It's incredible. It's
a fake documentary about a fake band. It's fucking incredible, dude.
So I know.
Speaker 3 (40:26):
I know Criterion put it out on four K, and
I wanted to give it a shot because I've heard
so much about.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
It, you would love.
Speaker 1 (40:35):
It's a big fucking deal, dude. It's a big fucking
deal for sure. That's why they made it. That's it
took forty years to make it.
Speaker 2 (40:42):
B Sure.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
I think it looks good. I think it's in the
spirit of the original, for sure, it is.
Speaker 4 (40:47):
It's kind of it's odd, like I get Paul McCartney
and I love Elton John I do. I'm in I
guess closet.
Speaker 2 (40:54):
Everyone in the chat is dropping references. It's crazy.
Speaker 4 (40:57):
I don't know this reunion my top oasis one from
Jamie Pennycook, like I'm with ran o'keefa. What a completely
different direction than he thought. However, I don't know it's
spinal tab. They're old. My only concern is they waited
too long maybe, and that they're a little too old
to do anything.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
That's probably part of the documentary though, you know.
Speaker 4 (41:20):
I know, But like, is it gonna cause a slow
down and it's gonna be boring? I don't know.
Speaker 2 (41:24):
I hope, I just I hope it's in the spirit
of the original.
Speaker 1 (41:27):
I have a feeling there's a lot of funny shit
in there, you know, And I don't know.
Speaker 2 (41:33):
I just it. The original is such a fun shah,
you would.
Speaker 1 (41:37):
Love it so much. Man, it is so fucking funny, bro,
It's just so funny. And they play all their real
instruments and they wrote all these fake inappropriate metal songs,
like all of them they wrote like for real everyone everyone,
everyone you see playing is really playing and sing it.
Speaker 3 (41:53):
Yeah, Barnes and Nobles doing fifty off in November, that's
usually when I stuck on my criterion, So this was
actually on my lest to buy. Yeah, I was gonna
blind by it, but yeah, I'm glad you guys being
it man, because it's oh yeah, look at the chat.
Speaker 1 (42:08):
Everybody's dropping comments like dude, it's really and there's there's
a lot of weird like it's a fake. They call
it the first like mockumentary because it's shot like right,
b show, it's shot like it's real and nothing is real,
but they never break the fourth wall.
Speaker 4 (42:22):
Did that come out first or did Fall of Western
Civilization Part two come out?
Speaker 2 (42:26):
I think they were.
Speaker 1 (42:27):
Part one was the punk, so that might have predated
it too, was the metal so but it is. I
it is every bit of like everything you heard about
it shot is legit, like everybody is super into it.
It's a lot of people dropping it, uh dropping the
chat in there. But it looks really, really funny, and
I don't think it's going to do well music box office.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
Oh seventy five percent. Okay, shot B show, can you
just put with the originalism there? I'm just curious because
it's for such a revered just the original spinal tap.
I bet it's in the nineties or something, because it's
like a it's people worship that.
Speaker 4 (43:01):
One ninety eight percent baby.
Speaker 2 (43:02):
Shot shot ninety eight critics, ninety two audience.
Speaker 3 (43:08):
Doesn't surprise me. I've heard nothing but great things about it.
It has so many people have recommended it during.
Speaker 1 (43:13):
It's Yeah, it's and it's a hard r there's a
lot of funny shit in it. And to think that
they really really and they make most of it up.
Like as they're going along, they they're like a fake
English rock band and they get lost. There's a scene
shot where they have to go play this huge concert
and they're so like out of it. They can't find
the stage. Like it goes on for like ten minutes. Yeah,
(43:34):
like and they just keep they're walking out into the street.
They're right, it's the greatest thing ever.
Speaker 4 (43:38):
Dude, I think shot with you having worked for wrestling
shows before.
Speaker 2 (43:42):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (43:43):
Anyone who's worked any sort of show like that or
knows musicians or anything, you would appreciate the humor in
this movie because that's what it's all about. It's riffing
on all that.
Speaker 2 (43:52):
Yeah, it's really like like like it's it's just like
how like you know, how weird it took its own
world or.
Speaker 4 (43:57):
Like or the big one is like they think they
write the song Stonehenge, you think there's gonna be these
big blocks on stage.
Speaker 2 (44:03):
That's a really funny part of the movie. Okay, shot.
Speaker 1 (44:06):
There's one point they get this booking agent and it
books them at like an amusement park and uh and
then they show up there they have the marquee and
it says puppet show and spinal tap and they get
mad that puppet show is.
Speaker 2 (44:18):
The top building. It's besides.
Speaker 3 (44:23):
So this is completely a parody like this, it's completely.
Speaker 2 (44:26):
Yeah, it's all fake, but never but it never breaks
the wall like.
Speaker 4 (44:31):
It's a mockumentary.
Speaker 2 (44:32):
It's one hundred comedy. It's all fake. And then they
were like and then the manager goes, oh, this guy's
I'm totally this is it was supposed to say spinal
tap then puppet Show. It's just the greatest. Oh my god,
I haven't seen that.
Speaker 1 (44:47):
It's incredible that line when they show up to the
puppet Show.
Speaker 2 (44:52):
Oh, I can't stop laughing.
Speaker 4 (44:53):
All right, I don't think I've seen it since like
Late Night Comedy Central, like back in two thousand and two.
Speaker 1 (44:59):
But shot, it's like it's like one of those things
like they you don't know it's you know it's fake,
but you never they never acknowledge it's fake.
Speaker 2 (45:06):
They never ever acknowledge it's fake.
Speaker 1 (45:09):
So this trailer I just saw the other day, it's
a Netflix series hosted by Maya Hawk.
Speaker 2 (45:15):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (45:16):
And it's about the horrors of nature. And I thought
this was fascinating. It's called Nightmares of Nature. I believe
it's a mini series. It's a trailer for it. It
looks really intriguing to me. I like, shit like this.
Uh And I believe it's a Netflix exclusive. We're gonna
check it out right now.
Speaker 7 (45:34):
Nature is for war and beauty.
Speaker 2 (45:38):
Well, she sounds just like a mother for the.
Speaker 7 (45:40):
Creatures who live at in a while, this place is
a nightmare.
Speaker 2 (45:49):
Oh, Wow, I didn't know that.
Speaker 7 (45:56):
Today I'm going to tell you a scary story where
the trees have eyes and every.
Speaker 2 (46:03):
Sound these nature shows a fish?
Speaker 7 (46:09):
Aren't they the last you ever hear? In here? Nightmares
are realities. Anything that moves into insect ship the.
Speaker 6 (46:21):
Most doesn't last whoa sooner you figure that out, the
better your chances are abstain.
Speaker 7 (46:35):
Alive Nightmare of Nature.
Speaker 2 (46:40):
I love the title.
Speaker 1 (46:42):
Cabin in the Woods, Lost in the Jungle October twenty eighth.
Speaker 2 (46:46):
You show it's a Netflix exclusive shot first and foremost?
How much does this kid? I don't know?
Speaker 1 (46:51):
I know you never watch Stranger Things, but maya hawk
that's like her big thing?
Speaker 2 (46:55):
How much? Fucking? I mean? She looks like a combination
of her mother and a father. But if you, if
you didn't know who that was, would you know who
that was like? Would you would you recognize her that?
Would you recognize who's like? God? I just drew a
blank kill Bill? What the uma? Thurman?
Speaker 5 (47:13):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (47:13):
Not at all? I have to actually look her up
again because I don't remember what she looked like.
Speaker 2 (47:17):
Well, the voice, you don't think she sounds like her mother?
Speaker 4 (47:20):
After you reminded me who her mom is? I could
hear it now thinking back on it, but I wouldn't
have guessed that.
Speaker 1 (47:25):
No, like her, Yeah, well I also watch her on
Stranger Things, So when you hear a voice a lot,
she looks like she looks like her a little bit.
She looks like a combination of Ethan Hawk and Uma Thermid.
Speaker 3 (47:37):
This looked cool, though, Like I like the concept.
Speaker 2 (47:39):
Yeah, I figured you're.
Speaker 3 (47:40):
I do fear that it's gonna have some pretty gruesome
stuff in there. Like I get it, man, nature is
is pretty cool and it's the cycle of life and
all that, but I still don't want to see like
birds hunting lizards and mice and like it's just it's
tough for me to watch that stuff, like I don't Yeah,
of course, I don't know if I want to watch that.
And it looked like mouse was about to go on
a trap, Like I don't want to see that.
Speaker 1 (48:00):
Man, that's weird, the trap thing. I don't really find
that that's not nature to me. I don't understand that
might be I have a feeling that's not Actually that's
for thematic purposes because the idea is nature.
Speaker 3 (48:12):
That's not nature.
Speaker 4 (48:13):
Well, like that's my thing too, is like if if
they're there shooting like cutaways and stuff like that, Like
are they setting these animals to get eaten?
Speaker 2 (48:23):
That's illegal. You're not even allowed to do that.
Speaker 1 (48:25):
And you think the daughter of like Ethan Hawke and
Uma Thurman is going to be a pro.
Speaker 4 (48:29):
No, I'm just saying the way it's shot. Interestingly, it
looks like obviously they're a range, Like they're showing like
this mouse crawl up toward the camera and shit, yeah,
like how is this gonna play?
Speaker 1 (48:39):
But I think they might be is showing them in
our lives and then showing them in nature unencumbered.
Speaker 2 (48:45):
That's what I think it is.
Speaker 1 (48:47):
Like, you know, like like a mouse has to worry
about a mouse trap blah blah blah blah, but like
a thematically, but then out in the wildfield mice have
to worry about predators.
Speaker 4 (48:55):
And kroggy there's a pit vipe out, which yeah.
Speaker 2 (48:58):
I don't know, I'm super shot, just as animal sensitive
as you, dude, Like, I like, you know, I like
I think.
Speaker 3 (49:04):
About that ship all the time, man, Like how cool
like nature actually is, Like when I'm walking my dog
all the time, I like I think about it all
the time. I'm like, man, I'll see a rabbit. I'm like, yeah,
that rap is probably gonna be dead in two weeks. Man,
it's gonna eat it, like you know it is. It's
true though, it's like the brutality of like reality is.
It's kind of rough to take a times man. But yeah, yeah,
so I don't, I don't.
Speaker 4 (49:23):
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (49:24):
Man.
Speaker 3 (49:24):
It looks really good though, like this is I want
to watch.
Speaker 2 (49:27):
But it's like they put money into it.
Speaker 3 (49:29):
I'm just afraid that there might be some scenes that.
Speaker 1 (49:31):
Yeah, you could always do a little field work in
the beginning to see what people say.
Speaker 2 (49:35):
But if it's not over the top animal violence, I'll
watch it.
Speaker 3 (49:38):
There's a there's a website called does the Dog Die
in the Movie?
Speaker 2 (49:42):
I've heard of the website.
Speaker 3 (49:43):
Yeah, so it tells you every movie ever that has
had any kind of animal cruelty or any kind of
triggers period. So I'll wait for this to come out.
I'll go read some reviews.
Speaker 1 (49:52):
Yeah, there better be cats and dogs in this motherfucker.
I ain't watching that shit. Look, speaking of Well Made
the Rock, now that he looks a lot more like
me and like himself, I think he's kind of biting
me personally, but as far as that goes, and we
are the same age.
Speaker 2 (50:06):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (50:07):
He just got a fifteen minute standing ovation at the
Venice Film Festival for The Smashing Machine, and there is
already buzz that this is his one shot and also
for director Benny Safti, not his one shot, uh, for
an Academy Award sort of look for the first time
ever after making just I would say ninety seven percent,
if not ninety eight percent, ninety nine awful crap movies.
(50:30):
But this is the updated trailer for the very very
uh anticipated Smashing Machine, the story of UFC even Pride Fighter.
Speaker 2 (50:39):
Really, Mark Kerr, please, Mark.
Speaker 9 (50:44):
Kerr, Hello and thank you to everyone.
Speaker 2 (50:49):
This is bund me to be here today.
Speaker 3 (50:51):
Is that the Yes, I thought that was a quip
from it.
Speaker 2 (50:55):
Then No, extremely understanding to me. Looks like it won
a bunch of stuff. Event grad it's the way I got.
Speaker 9 (51:06):
Because my tummy, you know what that would do my tommy,
I would get sick everywhere.
Speaker 5 (51:09):
No, it's about perspective, okay, just on the inside.
Speaker 4 (51:16):
You don't feel like the Genesis or Phil Collins on
that song. Y, yeah, that's the original only slowed down.
Speaker 8 (51:24):
Oh my goodness, this truly shocking.
Speaker 2 (51:30):
We got some elimonade in the Pride Tournament.
Speaker 4 (51:34):
I know this.
Speaker 7 (51:35):
Song when he's distant.
Speaker 2 (51:38):
Sacrificing everything. What do you have for me? Is strong?
To be a day without Yeah, it's like a day
without sunshine. He became a big truck. There's kind sing.
Was that boss rooting?
Speaker 10 (51:51):
This is it?
Speaker 2 (51:52):
Yeah? That's it? Really what happened? That's suppos speak more
call apologize. That's Ryan Baker fighter.
Speaker 9 (52:06):
I know that you've been questioning whether I am the
fighter that you thought that I was. And one of
my biggest regrets in life is the answer to that question.
Speaker 2 (52:17):
I was Wow. I promise she's gorgeous blood dude.
Speaker 3 (52:26):
To see Mark back out there truly remarkable.
Speaker 10 (52:29):
I just need you to let me in.
Speaker 2 (52:33):
And the director talking in it. Whats next? It's simple?
Speaker 3 (52:40):
Am I going to hurt him?
Speaker 7 (52:42):
Let's go before he hurts me?
Speaker 2 (52:46):
Ready? I think so? You think so? Yes? No answer?
Speaker 4 (52:51):
Are you ready?
Speaker 2 (52:52):
Yes?
Speaker 7 (52:58):
How's that feel?
Speaker 2 (52:59):
Feels great?
Speaker 7 (53:00):
Drink some more?
Speaker 2 (53:01):
Yes? You can stretch memore ye too much? Never?
Speaker 1 (53:10):
Oh, Benny SAFTI wrote it too shit. I think this
looks really good. I mean it's got super.
Speaker 2 (53:14):
Buzz on it. You didn't even recognize the motherfucker and
you've known me like your whole adult life.
Speaker 3 (53:19):
Right, No, it does look good man. I'm surprised the
Rock is in this because usually with the Rocks involvement,
the movies usually turn out through dog shit and I
hate absolute dog shit. Other than The Rundown. It's probably
the only Rock movie that I've enjoyed ever in my life,
which was one of his first ones. But this, this
actually looks good man. And again not the pat A
(53:39):
twenty four on the back, because they've They've started putting
out a lot of shit that I don't like. But
this looks. This looks like a banger. So yeah, I
don't know if I'll see it in the movie theater,
but this is a day one purchase for me. Man,
I will buy this as soon as it goes on
pre sale b show.
Speaker 1 (53:54):
It kind of looks like it's gonna deliver here. It
just the trailers impactful, know everyone, It looks. It has
a very gritty.
Speaker 2 (54:03):
Tone to it, you know.
Speaker 4 (54:05):
I like it. I like how it looks, and I
think with the guy like the Rock, like Mark Kerr,
who was a huge guy, who else are you gonna
get in Hollywood to play him. You might have gotten
the guy from Shit the show. You turned me on
to the big jack fucking blond dude reach.
Speaker 2 (54:21):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, Reacher, Jack Reacher like that as
a monster.
Speaker 4 (54:27):
But like I think the Rock could could in some
way relate to the I guess the athletic background and
the competition in that regard, even though wrestling is not
the same as MMA, but like that sort of living
in that world, maybe he brings a different perspective to it.
Speaker 1 (54:42):
Yeah, and this is very different, just because a lot
of people in the chat are asking me, I did
see Mark Kerr fight. This was Pride, which was the
Japanese much more harder. You can knee, you could elbow
in the head. This was the nineties end of documentary
The Smashing Machine on his run. And some people are
pointing out, like Don Sono, he's fifteen and eleven. But
(55:05):
Chris Matthews points out he was completely destroyed. His body
was destroyed, he was riddled with drugs. You know, he
came out of the gate like you never saw it.
He looked like the Hulk in real life, and then
he eroded. And that was that's the story. That's part
of the story. Yeah, Chris, he was no Don Fry.
Don Frey is a better athlete. And Mark Coleman, who
(55:26):
was played by Ryan Bader, who is his mentor.
Speaker 2 (55:30):
They had to.
Speaker 1 (55:30):
Fight, and Mark Coleman was also swollen out of his mind.
I'm not going to give too much of it away.
If you don't know the story, it's part of it.
But I'm excited for this. I highly recommend. I feel
like the Smash Machine documentary will now come out. I
know we saw it, like you can get it on
like YouTube or stream it and legally or something like that.
But if you've never seen it, it is brutal to watch.
Speaker 2 (55:51):
He talks just like this guy. He looks just like
this guy.
Speaker 1 (55:55):
And you know that if you've never seen old Pride fights,
have you ever seen a Pride fight?
Speaker 2 (56:02):
They're disturbingly violent.
Speaker 3 (56:05):
Yeah, I've seen plenty of them when I used to
get the when I used to tape trade, you know,
that's what I got to Yeah, yeah, I would get
a ton of those Bam bam. Bigelow was up there.
There was a bunch of random people, like random wrestlers
that went up there.
Speaker 2 (56:18):
Yeah. Yeah, there was soccer raba like.
Speaker 4 (56:21):
Though wasn't it.
Speaker 2 (56:23):
No, that was Pride Soccer Robs.
Speaker 3 (56:24):
His pride was huge.
Speaker 4 (56:27):
But I thought Bam Bam Invader and those guys wrestled
in u w F.
Speaker 1 (56:30):
I yeah, I think that was you Wi. But soccer Raba.
There was a couple of there. I'm forgetting a very
famous Japanese wrestler who.
Speaker 4 (56:38):
Was there, Murder Grandpa. What's his name? Fuck?
Speaker 2 (56:41):
I forget.
Speaker 4 (56:42):
He used to dude with like the fucking ship Sha
in the movie.
Speaker 1 (56:45):
Whatever we're thinking of is in the movies. Well, yeah,
well character somebody plays him in the movie. This is
the ninety early nineties. I'm excited for this. I really
want to check this out.
Speaker 4 (56:54):
Minro Suzuki, Suzuki Suzuki.
Speaker 1 (56:58):
Yeah, guys, I think from all Japan when old, because
this was like back when all Japan was still around
Baba's company.
Speaker 2 (57:05):
Yeah, but Soccer Rob I think was in there. Well.
Speaker 3 (57:07):
This was also during the time where they were trying
to mix wrestling with mixed martial arts, like FMW was
bringing in karate people and yeah, who was the big
black dude, the super muscular guy.
Speaker 2 (57:19):
He became an actor.
Speaker 3 (57:20):
He bob sat like you uhould do some FMW stuff.
Oh yeah, there was a lot of that was brutal.
Speaker 2 (57:30):
Ship ever, the rock got soccer robuts thing.
Speaker 4 (57:32):
My buddy and I got drunk last summer and had
a TV that I can wheel outside, and the women
were the ladies with us, my wife and his wife.
They were like, what are you guys talking about. We're
trying to remember the names of the fighters.
Speaker 2 (57:43):
Takama and I.
Speaker 4 (57:44):
Always remember Fry, I never remember Takeyama's name. And we said,
like two in the morning, all drunk watching these dudes watch.
Speaker 2 (57:50):
That fight together. Oh yeah, se, you know what we're
talking about. When they just punched each other like five minutes.
Speaker 4 (57:54):
Straight without stopping a million men.
Speaker 1 (57:57):
Dude, Yeah, we were all yeah with the world was
a different place anyway. This next trailer is getting a
lot of buzz, possibly because Mad's Michelson character actor Extraordinary,
is in it. He is mostly known in the States
for the Hannibal Lecter TV show, where he played Hannibal
Lecter for a few seasons that I got canceled. People
are still still pissing about that.
Speaker 2 (58:19):
He's got a new horror movie. It looks like a
slight comedy horror called dust Bunny.
Speaker 1 (58:24):
I really like this trailer. I'm seeing this pop up everywhere.
I have a feeling this is gonna be a pretty
popular film, and we're gonna.
Speaker 2 (58:30):
Check it out right now? Oh so forty right?
Speaker 4 (58:37):
Go wow.
Speaker 2 (58:40):
Yeah, it's kind of heavyweights here lions Gate. Huh Chicken
with the light bulbubs? Yeah, what did you see? Make
this the loud?
Speaker 4 (58:50):
If I do it drowns us out?
Speaker 2 (58:51):
You have a got it?
Speaker 9 (58:54):
What do your parents think about monsters?
Speaker 10 (59:00):
Did you know that better?
Speaker 2 (59:04):
Yeah? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (59:07):
Is that enough to kill monster? What makes you think
I killed monstens?
Speaker 7 (59:11):
You seem like to kill things?
Speaker 2 (59:14):
Jesus, she believe in monstas. I really like the vision.
Speaker 7 (59:24):
You're a monster, you believed in you.
Speaker 4 (59:26):
It's one of those CG movies that it's like, it's okay,
it makes sense.
Speaker 2 (59:30):
Oh, the creator of Hannibal Thesa.
Speaker 4 (59:32):
Didn't need you a Brad Fuller. He was the guy
who walked out of Creditor thirteenth or whatever.
Speaker 3 (59:36):
Yeah, that came to kill me.
Speaker 2 (59:42):
Will December interest think time you hear to that?
Speaker 3 (59:46):
No, what a month to eat your family?
Speaker 2 (59:49):
Have you seen something you shouldn't have seen?
Speaker 4 (59:51):
Is it supposed to be a family movie?
Speaker 2 (59:53):
Not necessarily, it's it just told me a future.
Speaker 3 (59:56):
I know it's true.
Speaker 6 (59:57):
Well, I mean us do you think you know?
Speaker 2 (59:59):
Yeah, Shiploa.
Speaker 7 (01:00:06):
Her being here won't stop them, they will, right.
Speaker 4 (01:00:11):
Oh, David dash Man, you seem rinker getting the credit.
Speaker 7 (01:00:16):
You got the girl.
Speaker 2 (01:00:18):
She looks familiar to.
Speaker 1 (01:00:27):
Wow, show that looks like a very well made, expensive
endeavor there. I don't know if it's gonna do good
in the box office because it looks like a pretty
confusing sort of landscape.
Speaker 2 (01:00:38):
But I'm seeing this pop up everywhere.
Speaker 3 (01:00:41):
Yeah, it looks like a mash up between like I
don't know, like a like a big Fish movie.
Speaker 2 (01:00:47):
Oh wow, great, like fucking acknowledgement.
Speaker 3 (01:00:49):
There because it kind of looks Tim burtony, you know
what I mean. It looks but like a little bit
more violent and even like a little bit of hell
Boy maybe, like don't think mixed those two. I feel
like the reference kind of get this. You know it
looks good though, like it looks interesting. I just don't
really I can't pinpoint what kind of movie it is.
Speaker 2 (01:01:09):
Can't tell my understanding.
Speaker 1 (01:01:11):
B show you could g check me on this is
that a little girl hires like a guy who's known
to kill monsters in like a dystopian sort of future
setting to kill a monster that she please lifts under
her bed. That's like the short version of the story that.
Speaker 4 (01:01:25):
I read too. And you know, to Shaw's point, I
was gonna say, not movies specifically by name, but the
movies he named are like those mid to late two
thousands movies where almost like the peak of CG, where
we know it's CG, we know it's not real, but
it's like whimsical and it kind of makes sense and
it blends together. So no, I'm it reminds me, yeah,
(01:01:47):
of like the mid two thousands Tim Burden, like Charlie
and the Chocolate Factory, and Alice in Wonderlands.
Speaker 2 (01:01:53):
Has that color palette too.
Speaker 3 (01:01:54):
That's probably we like a little bit of like Fifth Element,
you know what I mean, just.
Speaker 2 (01:01:57):
Like Fantastic Element a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:02:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:02:00):
Yeah, I don't think they're giving us too much of
the plot right now. They're just kind of dropping it
as a table setter. But I could see why, you know,
just from the vibe why people are excited about it, you.
Speaker 2 (01:02:13):
Know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:02:14):
And somebody says that the Gemini killer from Dexter Resurrection
it could have been. Yeah, somebody said Utopia with Rain
Wilson vibes oh thank you, Don Stony.
Speaker 2 (01:02:22):
Yeah, and Matt Bichelson is a great actor. He's got
a great voice. He's kind of got a great looks
like he could be looks.
Speaker 4 (01:02:28):
Like a villain pet He was a Bond villain in Cinarella.
Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
Yeah, fucking great in that movie. Yeah, he was great.
But his Hannibal everybody just jerks off over. Have you
even though you ever seen that show? People fucking love it?
Speaker 6 (01:02:41):
Mm hm.
Speaker 2 (01:02:44):
Yeah I have.
Speaker 3 (01:02:45):
I actually I own it, but I don't. I don't
remember much from it. I just it was a lot
more violent than I expected it to be.
Speaker 1 (01:02:51):
Yeah, gory, a lot of a lot of body parts, dismemberments,
like a lot of other serial killers.
Speaker 3 (01:02:56):
I think the house that Jack built, you know, that
one scene.
Speaker 1 (01:03:00):
Not as like uh artsy, you know, it was pretty artsy. Yeah,
Joe punches it. What was incredibly violent. It was like
the most violent thing on TV for a while. But
it didn't have a huge audience. But then it got canceled.
Everyone lost their minds. Anyway, This next trailer is good
is It's a weird one. It just came out this week.
Speaker 2 (01:03:20):
It stars Robert Pattinson and Scarlett Johansson. They're a couple. Uh,
and it's called Die My Love, and uh, it's got
a weird twist to it.
Speaker 1 (01:03:33):
You just kind of let it wash over you for
about thirty seconds because it takes a very ugly turn.
Speaker 2 (01:03:37):
There a couple and something is wrong with the wife.
That's the only way I could describe it.
Speaker 1 (01:03:48):
This is this is the studio that put out the
substance and this was nominated for the Palm Door a Top.
Speaker 4 (01:03:55):
Okay, all right, I'm getting weird vibes from this already.
Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
Oh I said, I said, scar Joe, it's Donald, It's
was was gonna Jennifer Lawrence.
Speaker 2 (01:04:04):
Okay, she's gonna get a lot very artsy.
Speaker 4 (01:04:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (01:04:12):
M oh says he produced this showlis and it is
the studio sufrom the Sextons.
Speaker 2 (01:04:23):
Linus. That's a great shot.
Speaker 4 (01:04:26):
Huh does she rabbit or something?
Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
She said?
Speaker 3 (01:04:41):
What the fuck was that?
Speaker 2 (01:04:43):
Okay, I know a little bit about this movie. B show.
It is a it's a mental illness component. Okay, That's
that's all they're saying about it right now. But it
looks like one of those high art, crazy fucking movies
with really good looking people in it. Oh sorry, address, I.
Speaker 3 (01:05:03):
Don't know what the fuck I just watched, but I
was really into it. Visuals are great, right, yeah, because
at first it almost looks like a like a thriller,
almost like a like a what was that little not
not Little Darlings, Strange Darlings, strange dark. Ye, it kind
of reminded me of that and a little bit a
little bit, but then it kind of switched it up
and it got real weird, and then I was like, oh,
this is what is This is like an acid trip almost.
Speaker 2 (01:05:25):
So yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:05:26):
This is probably my favorite trailer of the night, to
be honest with you.
Speaker 2 (01:05:29):
Okay, well we got a big one coming on.
Speaker 3 (01:05:32):
Yeah, well so far.
Speaker 2 (01:05:33):
So yeah yeah yeah, b show.
Speaker 1 (01:05:34):
It's like it's one of that you have to do
a deeper dive here because it does look like like
almost like a rom com for a hot second maybe,
and then there's a turn and then.
Speaker 2 (01:05:44):
You're like, what the fuck am I? What are the
fuck's going on here? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:05:47):
It looks wild like at first she's crawling on the ground.
I'm like, all right, is she acting like a dog?
Speaker 2 (01:05:50):
What the hell is this? She looks great, by the way,
she does fucking great.
Speaker 4 (01:05:54):
It's strange. I got a mix of like psychotic but
like sexual like this raw energy and shit like it. Yeah,
that's what really keyed me into this so far. So
I do like it as well. I'm interested to learn more.
Speaker 2 (01:06:05):
About it though. Yeah, they're not telling you too much.
Speaker 1 (01:06:07):
It is a mental illness, but it's about I believe
she has schizophrenia or something to that effect, and she
just and that's where the movie just takes a turn.
Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
But Scorsese shot producing it. Huh, pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (01:06:19):
That's pretty cool man. Ye what what company put out substance?
Speaker 2 (01:06:23):
It was movie right, movie has a substance, So this
is a big look for them. And this was nominated
for the Palm Dora con Uh. And Lawrence hasn't been
doing much so you know.
Speaker 1 (01:06:32):
I think she has a kid now where she got
married again or some shit. And I like pattinsoning. I
think he's doing great work. I will definitely check this out.
I'm very curious. I have a feeling this is gonna
be one of those you know movies that people it's
got some fucked up shit in it, because it looks.
Speaker 3 (01:06:45):
Like I think it slept on.
Speaker 4 (01:06:46):
Man.
Speaker 3 (01:06:46):
I think this is a This is kind of like
the underdog of the year. This could be really, really
fucking good.
Speaker 2 (01:06:51):
Okay, well I saved this for the last We've been
putting this off for a few weeks. This is gonna
bring up some mixed feelings. I'm already predicting it now.
Ryan Murphy, who has a deal with Netflix UH and
FX rather I think it's Netflix and FX UH to
produce real crime series.
Speaker 1 (01:07:08):
He did The Menendez Brothers. Recently he did The damer
which was fantastic. He's done the Crime What the fuck?
He just did that show that you Me and b
show liked, but then it didn't turn out that great grotesquerie.
But also he's really known for the long running anthology
series on FX.
Speaker 2 (01:07:27):
What the True Horror? What the fuck is that called true?
Speaker 1 (01:07:31):
What is his series called American Horror Story?
Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
Him? That's him, That's Ryan Murphy.
Speaker 1 (01:07:37):
Anyway, he decided that he wanted to do a retelling
mini series of the true story behind h serial killer
Ed Guyin, the sort of blueprint for all of this
in terms of true crime.
Speaker 2 (01:07:50):
UH. And he decided, you know Ed Guyin looked like
he was missing a chromo zoon or two. Who could
I get to play ed gein. I know, let's get
the hot guy from Sonsy Charlie Hannam and let's make
sexy ed guind Uh, this is gonna be If you
haven't seen.
Speaker 1 (01:08:06):
It, this is a weird one.
Speaker 2 (01:08:09):
I don't even know. Okay, let me just shut up.
Let's just play it. And it's called uh, chainsaw? Is
it called chainsaw?
Speaker 8 (01:08:17):
Right?
Speaker 4 (01:08:17):
It's called monster the ed Gen.
Speaker 2 (01:08:19):
Story, Monster, the ed Gens story or long Legs too apparently? Yeah, exactly. Oh,
let's think that's a short one. You guys haven't seen
this yet? No?
Speaker 4 (01:08:32):
Oh my god, I waited.
Speaker 2 (01:08:33):
I waited.
Speaker 3 (01:08:38):
What shocks you most about it?
Speaker 2 (01:08:46):
Wow? Oh?
Speaker 4 (01:08:48):
The lamp?
Speaker 2 (01:08:49):
The lamps? What was his childhood? Kufeesh? See that? You
see that? Yes, yes, you see. I'd love to show
you something worse. I like the music. It's taking up bodies.
Speaker 7 (01:09:30):
You're working too fast.
Speaker 6 (01:09:33):
I'm sorry, mother, Just go slow and steady, take your time, sweet.
Speaker 2 (01:09:42):
Boy, put the skin on.
Speaker 4 (01:09:45):
Oh damn, oh.
Speaker 2 (01:09:51):
It's coming up soon. Okay, Now show if this could
be the fucking best shit ever or really really bad.
Speaker 3 (01:10:03):
I'm kind of impressed by it, man, I'll be honest
with you, man, I'm not into TV series at all,
but this year we're getting Alien Earth, We're getting this
Ed Guin story. It's like the Derby.
Speaker 2 (01:10:15):
Yeah yeah, welcome to Derry Yeah, coming.
Speaker 3 (01:10:18):
Up soon, I said, Derby, Yeah, welcome to day sexy
ed Guy. This looks good though. I thought it was
gonna be like actual, like Leatherface, but I'm glad they
went a different round and actually we're doing Ed guyin himself. Yeah,
and it kind of looks like him. To be honest
with you, it does.
Speaker 2 (01:10:34):
It does, but you can still tell like it's the
dude from if you never watched Sons of Anarchy.
Speaker 3 (01:10:38):
I've never seen it, so I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:10:39):
Well, most people know that.
Speaker 1 (01:10:40):
I mean, it's been a long time, but this guy's
Sons of Anarchy forever for people.
Speaker 2 (01:10:44):
That's just what he is. But it doesn't. It looks
well made man.
Speaker 4 (01:10:49):
Well, and not just from a money standpoint, like from
a composition standpoint, from an artistic standpoint, you know, the cinematography.
We'd say that a lot. It's it looks really well done.
Those shots were bizarre, and I'm surprised, I don't know why.
I'm surprised at how garish the masks and the props.
(01:11:10):
Look for something that's going to Hulu. I thought it
would be.
Speaker 2 (01:11:13):
A little bit more Netflix, not even who looks Netflix?
Speaker 4 (01:11:15):
Oh sorry Netflix.
Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
Yeah, he has a deal with both Effects and Netflix.
Speaker 4 (01:11:19):
But it looks good. I mean, honestly, if people didn't
like the Texas Chainsaw masker, this is not gonna be
probably as intense as that.
Speaker 2 (01:11:27):
Yeah, but like, can you pull up the print to
add because there's a really cool print add of him,
like what I think a chainsaw that looks so good
and that's the one that they're.
Speaker 1 (01:11:38):
Using to promote it. But shaw, this is like you're
gonna have to break this TV cherry big time.
Speaker 3 (01:11:43):
Man Seah, I'm gonna have to get Netflix for this,
of course.
Speaker 2 (01:11:48):
And it's following it's perfect.
Speaker 3 (01:11:50):
Yeah, and then Nightmares of Nature. I might check that out.
I'll have to wait to see some reviews. But I'm
glad Netflix actually has some things coming out that I'm
kind of into because yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:12:01):
Yeah, look at well that one. Yeah, pull that one up.
That one looks fucking great.
Speaker 4 (01:12:04):
Ah, there you go.
Speaker 2 (01:12:06):
Yeah, we can't see it. We only see the Oh
there you go. Yeah that's dude. I'm sorry, that looks
fucking insane.
Speaker 4 (01:12:15):
Can you guys see the blood splatter on the T shirt?
Speaker 2 (01:12:17):
And yeah, shot, look at this is amazing, Bro, this
is good.
Speaker 4 (01:12:21):
Look at this one.
Speaker 2 (01:12:22):
Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:12:23):
I don't like the green though. The green doesn't make
sense with this. I don't know why the theme is green.
Speaker 2 (01:12:29):
I don't know the crosis death yeah, body decomp members.
Speaker 3 (01:12:34):
Look, this is like the Reanimator, you know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (01:12:36):
The dead skin masks. Dude, dude, David.
Speaker 1 (01:12:38):
The house was full of the mask, like the real
This is what people don't understand for and no one
who's not that familiar with it. The true story behind
ed Geen a guy and I don't know how he
pronounced it is so much worse than anything that's ever
been portrayed b show in any of the movies ever.
Speaker 4 (01:12:53):
Not to ruin anything, but he did ship. They alluded
to it in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre with like the
room full of game. I keep saying Garrish for some reason.
That's oddities but like he would cut people's like ladies
off and keep him in jars. He made belts out
of nipples. He would upholster his couches with skin. Yes, yeah,
(01:13:14):
like in sexual parts and stuff like it was fucking gross.
I don't he would have.
Speaker 2 (01:13:18):
Sex with the parts that to keep them in jars.
Speaker 1 (01:13:20):
Yeah, and he would talk to his dead mother, you know.
And and but he maintained a real life, a real
presence in that town.
Speaker 2 (01:13:29):
I think this could be. This is either gonna be
the thing we can't stop talking about or the thing
that we really think they fucked up.
Speaker 1 (01:13:37):
And it's coming very soon. Three weeks from now, we'll
be talking about this motherfucker.
Speaker 4 (01:13:41):
And think about like all the stuff that it had inspired.
So like everything from obviously Psycho Texas, Chainsaw Massacre, Silence
of the Lambs, Tourist trap. Oh for sure, Like anything
like that in that vein is inspired by that story.
Speaker 2 (01:13:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:13:55):
And I like Charlie Hannah Hunt. I I I'd like
him a lot. I was super I'm a super Sons
of any fan. I loved him in the Guy Ritchie
movie The Gentleman. They've been trying to make him a.
Speaker 2 (01:14:04):
Thing for a while. Green Street Hooligans was was really
his breakout, which I think got him Sons of Anarchy.
Uh love that fucking movie. I just he's a really
good looking dude.
Speaker 1 (01:14:14):
Chicks, I mean when that when suns Vanick he was
in his heyday, everyone in my office wanted to bang
this dude's brains out, you know, including my girlfriend at
the time. Like, so it's just really, you know, it's
weird that he's playing like a waterhead fucking guy who.
Speaker 2 (01:14:28):
Makes lamps out of people. I'm just saying, but that's kind.
Speaker 4 (01:14:30):
Of bulls out of people's skulls and ship I used.
Speaker 2 (01:14:33):
To make bowls, like like food bowls out of.
Speaker 3 (01:14:36):
Skulls, like I've seen the documentary on him, I actually seen.
I've seen a lot of the like the real life
crime scene photos. Yeah, and pretty much what you saw
on terrifying and also bone Tomahawk like he did ship like.
Speaker 2 (01:14:51):
That like that like for a long time, like and.
Speaker 3 (01:14:54):
He slipped them from the vagina up all the way
up to like him.
Speaker 2 (01:14:57):
Yeah, you'll see it probably in the mood.
Speaker 1 (01:14:59):
You'll get to see it, you know, because if you
remember the Dama, they don't hold back, so you know.
And the damer fun was so fucking brilliant, absolutely brilliant,
and it won a Golden won an Emmy for the
dude who played him in a Golden or a Golden Globe,
so the kid from uh, what the fuck he's from
American Horror Story. But anyway, we're gonna head on out.
