Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yeah, h Ed, we're back line. This is the Pipple

(00:39):
Media podcast. We're gonna spit out the top entertainment stories
of the week. My name is John Draper. Shah, you
look cold even though it's been a hundred degrees in
the Northeast. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
I was gonna say. I'm actually extremely happy because I've
been dying the past week. So I finally got my
hoodie back on. Man, I feel I feel back to
normal because even my ac man, it just it's not
and have the ability to, you know, pull the house
down to seventy that I won. It's a and four degrees.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
It's a strain. B Show, Brian, fresh from the jazz
festival he went to in Cincinnati over the weekend. B Show, Brian, Uh,
is it nice and cool there after all the racial violence?

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Yeah, I mean the coolness is taking the edge off
of it for sure. And it's funny that that came
out today because even though this city didn't make a list.
I said this to Shat CBS Good Morning, said that
the number eight most stressed city in the country right
now is Toledo and then number seven's Philly. So I
feel like Sean and I are competing over that right now.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
But do you want some funny apropos of nothing. I
was curious how small a town I live in, growing
up in a city like Brooklyn that has literally millions
of people. My city has less than one hundred thousand people,
and I grew up in a city with two point
six million people. It's just so strange, you know, like

(01:57):
it's a strange thing. But B Show, it is. It
is a finally we get a little break from the weather.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Oh dude, it was amazing. Yesterday. I was exercising in
my garage, dripping sweat all over the mats, and then
I woke up this morning like shivering in my bed,
waiting for a comforter. So this is, this is what
I've been waiting for all summer.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
I cannot menopausal. B Show, that's a menopause.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Menopausal?

Speaker 1 (02:18):
What?

Speaker 3 (02:18):
What's perimenopausal? Is that the new excuse for women being
crazy lately? I hear all over that shit.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Don Stony, This isn't a farmer shirt. This is like
a shirt Gary Busey would wear in point Break. This
is certainly not a farmer shirt. But guys, we're happy
to be with you. We have a ton of shit
to get you, but please consider coming to patreon dot
com backslash Spitball media show. I mean, it's still the
most affordable premium program in the business, and we're finishing
up the June Q and A this weekend for the Patreon.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
You know, I was so sad today because I haven't
I have been going to McDonald's in probably like six
seven months, and I just craved it today for some reason.
I wanted a fucking falale fish, so I got me
a fialal fish. This is from their app by the way, right,
and I added a mcdouble. Went to McDonald's. I paid
fourteen dollars with the coupon, so I can't imagine how

(03:10):
much it was without the coop have been like seventeen dollars.
Do like a file of fish sandwich is like with
the meal is like twelve dollars.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
I got tanked out like a butt ago. Well, I
get tanked out a lot, and I ordered McDonald's and
it was forty four dollars and I didn't feel like
I got that much.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Like I was like, I am never going back to
McDonald's if I got to pay like almost like fucking
eighteen dollars on a regular basis for a meal at
McDonald's no thing, because you can just go to like
a much better place. But I say that to say this,
five bucks a month is the best value. McDonald's charging
fucking eighteen dollars for a burger out.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
It is so Yeah and b show. Not only that,
but then you get those bonus shows, you get the
full back catalog. They get it all.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
You get it. Oh, I think there's a song like that.
I can't think of me right now, but yes, John
is correct. We get it all here at Spitball Media.
Five dollars a month bonus shows. One of us does one.
Plus we have a Q and A every month almost
or hangouts during special times of the year. Check it out.
I was feeling very space ghost tonight. I don't know
if that space ghosts.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Yeah, I just saw I just put up a I
think almost like a forty minute.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
The other day.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Yeah, the other day boxing, Yeah, unboxing. So you guys
saw what I got, and uh, it was all vinegar
syndrome titles for the most part. And uh, there's a
bunch of cool shit in there, so go check out.
There's a one there's one movie I want to follow
up on because holy shit, if we have time, I'd
like to mention that one because that was probably the
craziest experience I've ever had as far as a movie. Uh,

(04:42):
and I'm definitely fucking throwing that movie out.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Well, I'm going to bring up a crazy movie that
I forgot to tell you both, that I mentioned last
week I was watching that's getting a lot of press,
and that is on a lot of people's top horror
films of the year. It might be online, but we're
going to get to that. But please consider going to
patreon dot com and thank you to the many people
who have contributed to the Patrio round all the way
back to the break of the Apocalypse COVID days. Uh, back
when we thought it was the end of the world.

(05:06):
Uh and now he knew it and we knew it now.
It might be due to a comment, but that's Patreon
dot com backslash spiball media five bucks, five bucks, catch

Speaker 3 (05:31):
We got a buddy Joe punches get well, man, he's
still yes.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
You particulatus feel better soon?

Speaker 3 (05:36):
Yeah, man, that sucks. Gary Thorpe all the way from
across the pond.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Oh, my brother from Ireland.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
We got Roe Joe Barr twenty four We got Russ Smith.

Speaker 1 (05:45):

Speaker 3 (05:46):
Hey, now see there was someone else up here where
they go John j LD nine nine nine jail d.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
I see Cyril Daniels talking about he hasn't had McDonald years.
What's up, Sarah?

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Hey, what's up?

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Man?

Speaker 3 (05:55):
I'm looking I think that's it if I missed you,
because there was a bunch chatter before we jumped on.
We were a little late.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Yes, Now he's saying. Don Stoney is saying he picked
up two issues of Physical Media Advocate after watching your show.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
What did you? What did you pick up?

Speaker 2 (06:10):
I'm curious, hopefully not the one that I'm throwing in
the trash because.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
And Marky's chilling with us. Oh twenty fourteen. Yeah, I've
had McDonald's like twice in like three years. Yeah, b
B looking all professional tonight. Yeah, b show you look
you look very professional.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
Should I do the Kevin Smith thing with the blazer
of the graphic t or No, it's the glass.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
I don't wear them off.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
But for some reason my eyes are.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
You look like a guy who killed this whole family
and now you're in court trying to avoid the death penalty.
That's what she looks like.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
You blowed up my spot, dude.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Oh, Don Stoney got the Lighthouse and the Great Great
White Shark cover shots. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
I was just commented in the chat room to him,
curious to see which edition he got, because the Lighthouse
got like four different releases and I bought two of them.
Iom an idiot, so I keep rebind the same ship
man Joe punches.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Do not have McDonald's, please do not.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
I feel bad now we're all talking about crashing out
of McDonald's and he's in the hospital.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Definitely do not have the McDonald's joke.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
Okay, So for those of you across the fucking like,
I know Gary Thorpson here, Robbie Rich might show up
at some point. For those of you who don't live
in America, Toledo Hospital used to have a McDonald's in
the hospital instead of a cafeteria.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
That sounds very America.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
In ohiogal there's rules against fast food.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
That's out there. No, Well, listen, we're happy everybody's hanging out.
I don't care what you eat. Honestly, I really don't
give a ship, but thank you for hanging out with us.
We really appreciate it. So we have a couple of
stories to get to. But I want to bring this
up so because I didn't really talk about this too
much online, and when I did, Drewari Uh, who loves

(07:58):
Marble uh like a lot, you know, took issue with
some of the things I said. So I saw Fantastic four.
I went and saw it over the weekend. Obviously this
is a very big movie B show. I'm curious where
the box office is. And I have to say I
liked it. I enjoy I thought it was a beautiful
looking movie. The colors, the color palette is Marvel's never

(08:20):
had a color palette like this ever. The sixties close
the CG looked pretty good. But I just found it
a little dull. And I thought Superman was a better film,
And I think that's a fair sort of comparison. Where
is it at right? Now b show box office wise.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
According to an article updated two hours ago from screen Rant,
it looks like this brought the Superhero movies a cumulative
domestic total to one hundred and fifty almost one hundred
and fifty one million.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Okay, so it's slightly underperformed comparatively speaking, Superman just passed
global five hundred mili. I have a feeling I'm just
gonna say this now, guys, because I this is just
my I when you start, I think this is going
to have a huge drop off, tremendous drop, unbelievable drop
off this week and going into its second week. Because

(09:11):
it is a good looking movie shot, it is a
unique for Marvel movie. But it's a lot of yak ofty,
yakay yack. There's just a lot of talking in this movie. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
I'm kind of surprised by that because the trailer looked
action packed. Like the trailer sold me because I'm rarely
ever into any kind of comic book movies and this
isn't something I would go to the theater, which I
probably should, because I feel.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
Like this needs I think you would like it because
it's very good. It's a good looking like it's just
the color like, dude, Like even my kids were like,
the color was so I go, yeah, they did something
with this color shot. I don't know what the fuck
it is, but it's so pronounced.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Yeah, they mess with the hues. They just use a
lot of warm colors, probably put some sort of filter
over it. But yeah, man, I mean this this movie
I feel like because I wanted to get rid of
all of my uh Marvel movies because I just don't
feel like I would watch them, but this is one
that I would watch. And then the Plastic Man that's
coming out with.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
A DC Well Clay face you said you're one hundred
percent it's an R rated horror.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
Yeah, yeah, I forgot about that one too.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
So yeah, I'll still check this out, though I'm just surprised.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
I think, I think just visually you'll be like, Wow,
this is impressive, but it's a boring fucking movie.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
What about the thing?

Speaker 4 (10:20):
Did he look better than the right?

Speaker 1 (10:21):
Yeah he looked fin Yeah, he looked fine. He was
one of the bright spots of the movie. U B Show.
It's interesting because on paper, four or five months ago,
this should have beat Superman's Balls, And my theory is
people didn't think Superman was going to be that good.
Went and saw it and told everybody it was amazing,
and it made a lot more money. What's happening here?

(10:42):
I think b as people saw Fantastic Four thought it
was just okay, And now that's not inspiring people to
go see it. Yeah, and to be.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
Honest with you, Fantastic Fours be kind of snake But anyway,
I mean, they've had other opportunities, haven't done well.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Literally the third in the twenty first century.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
Yeah, and you know, I know, honestly, Fantastic Force kind
of been a punchline for a while for even comic
book fans because the movies have been so bad. So
you're going with a property that's kind of damaged goods.
You try to do something cool and interesting with the style,
which reminded me kind of of what they did with
was it Late Night with the Devil? Just a different style,
a different look. Yeah, but it's fucking Superman, Like, come on,

(11:20):
that's America's superhero. I know in Dark Days we embrace Batman,
but Superman is America's superhero. And they had Crypto the Dog,
which that's the one thing I don't think Marvel or
DC figured out that Disney did. It's like, well, how
do we work an animal? How do we look work
a base?

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (11:35):
What do we do?

Speaker 1 (11:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (11:37):
And now they've got Crypto.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
So yeah, it's going to be interesting because anyone would
have took the smart money and said Fantastic Four was
going to have a bigger box office and it looks
like it will. Not That doesn't mean it's a flop
or anything like that. And again I would tell people
to go see both these movies. But shot, honestly, if
you watched both of these films, I think you would say,
as a non compient person, Fantastic Four is a better

(12:01):
looking movie, but Superman is a is a better film,
which is a weird thing to say.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Yeah, I mean, to be honest with you, I'll never
be able to judge because I'll never see Superman. But
Fantastic Four, I would check that out because I mean,
I have I have Disney now, So yeah, watch. To
be honest with you.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
You should watch. It's a lot of fun. It'll blow
your mind. Just it's like watching a comedy. It really is.
And and by the way, I don't oh hey, and
not rich dal was joining us like Chris Matthews said,
super it's it's a better film. I'm not saying Fantastic
was a bad movie. I'm saying from my palette. I
enjoyed it. I love the way it looked. I love

(12:41):
that they did the thing I've been talking about online
for seven fucking years before it even came out, making
it a sixties period piece. But I thought it was
very boring. And they made Read Richards Shah and b
show Read Richards, who was supposed to be the one
of the two or three most incredibly smart, brilliant leaders
in the Marvel world. He was like a bumbling Woody
Allen character. Like he was like like he like b

(13:03):
show like they like they couldn't let him be like
the boss of it. They had to let Sue storm. Oh,
by the way, that woman is stunning, Vanessa Kurby. I've
never seen her before, and I think she's just gorgeous. Gorgeous.
But Pedro Pascal Bishow reminded me of a modern day
Woody Allen character.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
Yeah, that's honestly makes my dick go to the inside
place that I could understand, like bumbling sitcom dad, but
modern day Woody Allen. That's that's a fucking choice for
a superhero movie, especially for character like that. But you
know what, that that right there, And I'm not one
of these like, oh, down with the woke shit guys.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
Yeah, it wasn't at all. I'm not even I just
think they made a choice.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
But time after time, Marvel Disney lucasfilm, they're doubling down
on this ship where DC is just trying to make different, interesting,
cool shit. So hey, and to the Victor, go the
spoils because Superman.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
Like you said that, I predict a massive, massive drop off.
Speaking of this weekend, big big horror film opening right now,
one we've talked about on the show. We have very
high expectations. The movie, The Body horror film together starring
Alison Brie and real life husband Dave Franco, opens tonight

(14:15):
and B show. I think somewhere I spread it was
at ninety eight percent Rotten Tomatoes.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
Well I read that it debuted one hundred.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
It's probably dropped since then.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
It was one hundred. Yeah, this is extraordinary. I mean,
like we we were gushing over this fucking trailer, guys,
gushing over it. Where is it now?

Speaker 3 (14:35):
Oh, we'll check this out. Ninety one percent critic score
eighty percent audience, so at least the audience scores holding
up to.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
Yeah, audience scores. Shaw, what's your anticipation for this? I
know you said this is a movie you would actually
one hundred percent go see.

Speaker 4 (14:49):
Yeah, one hundred percent. And I mean this, talk to
me and Weapon.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
I think I think those three are the major films
that are coming out so far this year.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
I'll bring her back, you mean bring her back?

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Bring her back?

Speaker 5 (15:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (15:01):
Yeah, which is the talk to me directors?

Speaker 4 (15:03):
Yeah, yeah, I got them confused.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
Currently my number might be my number one, I think.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
But dude, I tell you what, man, I am subscribed
to a lot of YouTubers. Every single person that has
seen this says this wins Movie of the Year by
a landslide.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
It's the new substance, that's what everyone.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
People have compared it to substance, and they say it's
much better, Like, I don't, I don't know if you're
comparing it to Possession. You know, the andre's a lot, yeah,
of course, like the codependency on each other and relationships
and the body horror. So I don't know what I'm
walking into, but I'm I'm thoroughly excited.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
For this one.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Man, this looks fucking great.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
Yeah, b B show. I think this is gonna be
the movie. I honestly feel this is going to be
the movie that gets everybody talking about horror for the
rest of the year.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
I think. So that's a good, you know, good point
of the horror movies. If I had to choose between
this and Weapons, I want to go see this one
opening really yeah really, It's just I haven't feeling ram
fan hits on it right now.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
Why both of you are saying this, Yeah, what of
the barbarian dudes? New movie? Here's why that's one hundred
percent critics for you right now.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
Rams Fan. Rams Fan said it, it's getting a little
bit over hyped.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
I've said that too. I'm worried about the hype.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
Those movies, I feel don't always hold up as well.
Whereas Together is just kind of it's slowly built this
over the past couple of weeks, so like people are
starting to talk about how crazy it is, whereas Weapons
is like, watch this trailer, isn't this weird? Here's this?
I want to let the one that's more natural play
out and take other this is more interesting.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
I would say this is my second. But shot. The
difference I think is we have no idea what weapons
is about. We have no clue. And by the way,
when Barbarian debuted, none of us knew what Barbarian was
about either, and it wasn't about anything that we thought
it was about.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
Keep that in mind, is weapons twentieth century Fox? Also,
because I know Barbarian was, I'm hoping it.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Yeah, he's got a deal. Yeah, he's he's got a deal.
Is that Jay is J T. Molner and not JT.
What's his name?

Speaker 6 (17:02):
Not J T.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
Mulner. He's the He's the zach Kruger, zach Kraiger. J T.
Molner is strange darlings guy. But shah, keep in mind,
remember let's rewind the clock. None of us knew what
the fuck Barbarian was about. None of us knew what
was about.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Yeah, I think that's why I'm more excited for together,
because I know I kind of have a good idea
of what I'm getting into with Weapons.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
I just I have no clue.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
I'm just going off of critics claiming this is the
best thing ever happened. So but I'm sure it's gonna
be a banger. I mean that dude, he impressed me
with a Barbarian.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
I thought that was great.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
Yeah, oh, BYO Geeks is joining us? Well, I think
b show these are two movies that you're gonna need
to see early on for not getting ruined and in
a theater for that experience.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Yeah, it's like the sixth sense type of thing where
if people start talking about it, then what's the point?
You know, you can see it play out. But whereas
I think Together You Together will still be an experience
because of the spectacle. Although to be fair, with Weapons,
we have no idea what we're.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
In for, no no idea. Is it a ghost movie?
Is it a serial killer? Is it Aliens?

Speaker 3 (18:05):
Is it the parents are really is it the parents
that actually did that?

Speaker 6 (18:09):
Like?

Speaker 1 (18:09):
What the fuck is it?

Speaker 5 (18:11):
You know?

Speaker 3 (18:12):
I don't think there's We're not gonna know until we know,
and if it's anything like Barbarian, it's gonna be something
completely out of left field that we're not expecting. So yeah,
by the way, I said I'd rather see Together. That's
not a slight on weapons Sophie's choice yeaheah, Yeah, sure.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
I really hope it's Aliens though, man, because I mean
the last alien movie that we got that was really
good was you can't be saved or they can't save you.
You know, no one want.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
Yeah, Yeah, I think Weapons is going to deliver. I'm
excited and i'll be I'll be giving a spoiler free
review next week together I'll be seeing it this weekend.
So I'm very, very excited about that. But you know, guys,
before we get to a lot of trailers, a lot
of us have been checking in with some films that
we saw, and there was some big films that kind
of debuted streaming wise, and one of them was highly

(19:00):
anticipated Happy Gilmore Too. Now I'm just gonna say it.
Saturday night, I was a little long run and I
put it on and I am not a huge Happy
Gilmore fan. I maybe saw it once, I'm not. This
is not Adam Sandlers. Zumer is just not my jam
at all.

Speaker 5 (19:18):
I do like him.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
I think he's very funny, but he's not like I
can't watch a whole movie with this motherfucker. I'm my
favorite movie Adam Sandler is Little Nikky, which is everyone says,
the biggest piece of shit. I just think it's great
because it's got a lot of cool bands in the
soundtrack and so naturally. I love that.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
It's my face Asie the devil or is dead. No
Ozzie kills the dude at the end. It's just the
head off the bat. But but uh happy Gilmore too.
I'm just gonna say it. I lasted about eleven minutes
and I was not interested. I I just it just
didn't hold anything from me. Shat you said you watched
it over the weekend as well.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
I did.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
I did.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
I don't think I hated nearly as much as most
people do. I did get some nostalgia from it, and
I think all the cameos for the most part that
I wanted to see I got to see. But to
be honest with you, like I thought Eminem was like
decent in there. But I didn't need Eminem in there
post Malone. I didn't need post malone, you know what
I mean. I thought it was a little bit much. MJF.

(20:18):
I love the fact that MJF is the son. Yeah,
Like you got to understand too, man, MJF. Like his
first company that he worked for was CZW, Like that
was the first I actually got to know him. Like
there was a guy that I got to know. The
guy There's a guy that I got to become like
really good friends with. His name is Mike Besler. He
was a pro wrestling illustrated writer, right, So I got

(20:40):
to know him through a show called In Your Head
and I would get him interviews. Yeah, I would get
him in because we used to both call in. So
we just became friendly and he's, you know, he liked
my art, So we just talked all the time. And
he was like, hey man, since you're at CZW and
at these indie shows, can you put me in touch
with some of these wrestlers that you're friendly with. So
you asked for you know, Joey Janella, Sick, Nick Mondo,

(21:01):
a couple of the DJ Hyde, a couple other guys,
and he asked for MJF, you know. And I got
in touch with MJF at the show and I told
him he was and later on I'll never forget he
hit me up on Facebook. He was like, hey man,
I'll always owe you one because you got me my
first interview through a pro wrestling lah. So to see
that guy like, you know, next to Adam, that's fucking

(21:21):
I don't know, it was just cool a shit to
me because again I got to know some of these people,
you know what I mean, It's like doing things. It's
like it's like InCred because this isn't just aw like
this guy's on a fucking Adam Sandler Netflix movie.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Yeah, it's a big role fan.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
Like Beverly Hills Cop. Not expecting a lot, but expecting
like Camios and then there's gonna be some funny shit.
And I don't want to ruin anything because I think
most people have seen it and I'm not gonna be
too district.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we don't want to talk too much
about it.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
No, But like the fact that they Rocky five Happy
Gilmore right off the bet, I was like, I remember
in there.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
Yeah that that I thought that was weird. I don't
My wife and I were.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
Sitting watching it. We had a couple of white claws,
and as soon as they did that, I said, like,
they should they do Rocky five? I go fuck this
movie and she goes what and I'm like, yeah, dude,
they rocky fived it.

Speaker 1 (22:16):
And then that kind of took me out of it.
I'm not gonna lie. That's when I decided almost that
it wasn't really I was like, this is a dumb mine.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
It was just dumb. And yeah, there was some cameos
there to make.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
Way for the cameos. They had to cut a principle
out to make way for the cameos.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
Yeah, but then there's like there was a couple of
funny scenes, but it was shitty. The I think the
funniest thing on, ironically is that they've cast Becky Lynch
as one of the cringe golfers and she was completely
typecast in that role.

Speaker 6 (22:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
Yeah, people said she was at a place. What did
you think. I didn't get that far into it.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
So yeah, you know, I don't. I don't obviously care
for so that absolutely nothing out of place. Again, it
was too many cameos. Like I liked it when it
was like Adam Sandler and his and his friends, like
that close circle that he always puts, and that's cool
with me. All these extras that are coming in and
I don't need that.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
It's a bit much. It's like, I don't give a fuck.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
It was funny to see John Daily drink fucking hand
sanitizer for the alcohol once. I didn't need to see
it four times.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
Yeah, it's yeah, it's they go back to the well,
this is not Sandler's humor though, And like AJ Daniels,
what's up to a j he said, same thing goes.
I like Sandler, but the movies aren't. They just didn't.
I don't find them funny. I just you know, I
like him a lot. I thought Uncut Gems he got
robbed of an Academy Award nomination. He really fucking did.
But that's because the Safty Brothers made that dude into
a fucking, you know, big thing and punch Truck love shot,

(23:35):
you know, when he was Thomas Anderson. He kind of
got fucked out of an award for that too, at
least the nomination.

Speaker 4 (23:41):
I agree that was.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
That was the first time I took him serious there
as an actor. Oh shit, I didn't. I didn't realize
he could do this, you know, you know, because he
plays the same character.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
Like Adam Sandler. As much as I love him, I
hate half of his movies because.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
Yeah, there's yeah pretty much like after I think Little
Nikki or maybe Mester Deeds. I think that was his
last one.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
That was good Stretch. I like Big Daddy. It's great,
it's fine, that's like story, but that's a tenth movie,
you know what. I mean, so it's like it's a
very sweet movie, like, you know, it's very New York.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
I don't know if I told you guys this, but
we're watching the movie and the one golfer comes on
and my wife goes, is that chas Bono? I'm like,
what she legitimately thought, Haley Joel Osmond was chas Bono?

Speaker 1 (24:26):
Haley Joel Osmonds in the movie.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
Like come on, dude, dude, you know what.

Speaker 4 (24:29):
This felt like.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
You ever see that show Celebrity Squares?

Speaker 1 (24:32):
No Hollywood Squares? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (24:35):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever, Hollywood Squad. This is what I
felt like I was watching, you know what I mean?
It was just like fucking cameos just popping up, and
it's just like, yeah, I get it, dude. You have connections,
you have friends.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
I get that. Yeah, you're a famous guy. Of course
you know these people.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
Here's here's the point, though, if you did a really
good set of movies you got fucked out of awards,
wouldn't you also just do these high budget movies as
excuses to hang out and get.

Speaker 1 (24:57):
Your feet Netflix paid him a gajillion dollars for his
for exclusive, just like they did with Eddie you know,
and stuff. Like that. But I will say this, had
this gone to theaters, I think this would have done
very badly. I don't think there was a pain an
audience for this outside of streaming. Yeah I do. I don't.
That's why he doesn't have movies in theaters. He's not
that guy right now.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
They're just afraid to put comedies in theaters.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
Well was saying that. But Naked Gun supposedly is going
to be the biggest irreverent comedy of the last twenty years,
and people are already saying they go balls deep on
every level.

Speaker 4 (25:29):
They don't.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
They make fun of everything and everyone. So but we'll
hold off on that until that gets to some sunlight.
But there's some other movies we checked out, and I
just want to bring this up because I mentioned it
to you guys over the weekend. I finally watched Ugly
Stepsister on shutter Watch.

Speaker 3 (25:46):
It like three months ago.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
No no, no, no, I finally watched it. I watched
it over the weekend. I texted you guys instead, I'm
watching Ugly Stepsister and I was up Bryan. Ryan keeps
joining us and it's very good. I have to say,
I think it was a little overhyped. But there are
three or four scenes in that movie shot that reminded

(26:08):
me of I hate to say, I know you're not
gonna like this. It reminded me of bad taste, like
that kind of body horror that nineties eighties uncomfortable society
that Brian Yet is in the movie, Like you know
what I'm talking about. Shot like where it's like they're
just doing gross shit, like you know, Like I don't want.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
To say I've seen the movie. I've seen the movie.
I watched it.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
Oh you watched it.

Speaker 4 (26:32):
Yeah, I've seen it.

Speaker 3 (26:33):
You I thought John saw it. That's what I was.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
Oh, you saw it before week. I just saw it
this fucking week.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
I know I saw like two weeks ago. I just
didn't mention it.

Speaker 4 (26:41):
But I've seen it.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
I dude, it's definitely my top five, to be honest
with you.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
I know that it's knocking on the door. It's knocking
on the door for sure.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
Yeah. And I thought it was shot like it was gorgeous.
It's a gorgeous look.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
It's a good look at movie.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
I wasn't expecting it to be like I don't know, man,
I it was kind of breathtaking, like it's it's it's
a fucking shutter movie and it's it's gorgeous. It's definitely
body I didn't expect really body horror out of this,
you know, but it is.

Speaker 1 (27:08):
And what did you think of my bad taste analogy?

Speaker 2 (27:11):
Like the like the gross, like I see where you're
coming from.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
Gross.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
Bad taste doesn't jump in my head because bad taste
just looks like ship.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
But the tape worm thing, the amputations, the amputation.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
That was my that's the one that made me fucking
cringe because I was like, oh, holy, she's a trailer.
And then you get to whoa not not?

Speaker 1 (27:32):
Because I mean, look people can watch this and that.
How about the eyebrow thing? What the fucking fuck? Bro?

Speaker 2 (27:39):
Yeah, and that's like, that's what I like. Where's this
movie from? Do you remember what country from?

Speaker 1 (27:44):
Think? It's it's European, right, it's European. I think they
was speaking German maybe, but I know we pulled this
up previously.

Speaker 3 (27:53):
Let's see it says language is Norwegian, Polish and Swedish.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
But we okay, wow, okay, it's a Polish movie. Yeah,
which Polish movies? Dude, Poland is I've only seen one?

Speaker 1 (28:04):
They go deep.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
I'm if you look at their stuff from the seventh.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
And they go deep, they go, they go. What's interesting
about this movie is, without saying too much, is because
it's a foreign R rated movie. Their version of R
is things like penises, semen, uh, amputation uh. Like they
don't give, they don't give.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
Fuck dude, I this this might make my top five
at the end of the year.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
Like that much I liked it that I.

Speaker 3 (28:35):
Want to see it. I'm just sandbagging on shutter because
I know there's a bunch of stuff coming out on there.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
I want to hit it all at once.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
But yeah, I really did.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
I wanted to see this movie when it came out.
I didn't get to it. I didn't expect the other
ship you guys are talking about. Like I figured, Okay,
they're so in her up or turning their back into
a courset or something.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
But oh no, it's it's no, there's so there's it's
it's really uncommon. It's it's a dark comedy really, but
the I mean show the amputation scene alone is.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Like, that's the one that got me, man, That's the
one that made me on.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
It was like Takasha mik fucking that's the one I
expected because I think in the original version of Cinderella
the book, they actually do that shit. So I'm like, okay,
that makes sense.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
But yeah, man, yeah b show. I mean, look, the
movie has been out for a bit. They do a
thing where the guy says, all the women are doing
like eyelash extensions, these eyelashes, right, because they're trying to
doll them up for a dance. Yeah, but the eyelash extensions.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
Are sewn into your fucking ilid.

Speaker 3 (29:37):
And then just take it that time like that, and
I'm like, right, shot, that sounds amazing.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
And and Takashi Miki is the perfect example because he
had that one movie and The Masters of Horror, I
forget what it's called, but he had that one short
movie in there, and like the torture scenes with the
needles and stuff. I was like, yo, this, that's that's
a perfect fucking analogy because uh yeah, yeah, I enjoyed it.
More Polish horror though, Man, I'm telling you, Poland puts
out some fucking bangers. I got a lot of Polish movies.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
Yeah, yeah, put out yeah. Shot. We both also saw
on the Shutter Network Ash, which is like a trippy
space movie, uh from that odd performance artist director who
has like a Wu Tang clan type name. He doesn't
go by local names. Uh, Flying Lotus, Flying Lotus. Uh,
this was a movie I think execution didn't lead up

(30:30):
to the expectations, right, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
I honestly, I okay, So I love the set design
because it's an independent, low budget guy.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
It looks really good for the budget they have, you
know what I mean, Like, I'm sure a lot of
fucking effort went into this. Oh yeah, but I've also
seen his previous movie where it was just bad shit,
disgusting and just crazy and insanity, and so I went
into this expecting a lot of gore, which we got
some at the end. And you know, I just I

(31:02):
don't mind slow burns, man, but I just thought this
was very very slow.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
Yeah that was a little bit.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
Yeah, I just wanted a little bit more action out
of it, you know. And it's you can tell all
the budget went into the set because there's like two
actors in the whole fucking movie.

Speaker 1 (31:15):
Like, yeah, pretty much that's like five speaking parts. And yeah,
but uh, but shop, what did you think Joe Punches
brought up? The incredible practical effects they did a very
strong practical effects to the color scheme I think was yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
Yeah, and again the end, you know, the part with
the fucking the face like it looks it looks amazing,
Like the practical effects look fucking crazy, right, Yeah, that's crazy.
I just wanted a couple more parts of that spliced
in between the movie because I feel like we had
a we had a great ending, but getting there was
almost like a task, you.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
Know, it was really yeah, I was waiting for it
to end. It's only yeah, thirty minutes.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
Yeah, but it drags that That was my problem, was
like the last twenty minutes great, Yeah, the beginning of
the first hour and fifteen or whatever, it was like, yeah,
it was kind of it was kind of a task, man,
I have to really just like push through the B show.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
When you get Shutter, Yeah, when you get Shutter B Show,
you should check this out because I think atmospherically, because
that that's very weird, trippy music and a lot of
cut scenes and it's you know, it's one of these
things where you wish the story was better. But a
lot of people I think that would say they enjoyed it.
They enjoyed it because of how it looked not necessarily
how it moved almost like beyond the Black Rainbow, perfect example. Okay, well,

(32:26):
and then you know that's those are sometimes hard movies
to get through. Are you saying there's like no action
pretty much between them? It's a lot of shot. What
do you say it's a complicated plot for a small
for a small, independent little movie, Like it's a little complicated.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
Yeah, for sure, for sure. And I think the execution
was kind of like the issue, like you could tell it.
I mean, it's a gorgeous fucking looking movie. The guy
obviously put a lot of effort. The color palettes again
that you mentioned.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
I love that for sake, right, like, oh god, so
good looking. I love it.

Speaker 2 (33:00):
My only issue is again it's just like it's it's
visuals over substance, you know what I mean, There's not
much there's not much depth to it at all, but
visually it's stunning. It's a great looking fucking movie. Yeah,
and the practical effects there. I don't really think there's
any c g I in it, really.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
No, I don't think there is at all.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Yeah, it's all from background stuff like that, But as
far as like the actual gore scenes and all that
I think it's all practical. I don't think any Yeah
that was.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
The style and it has just fantastic from Uh yeah,
I think when you get it, I think you should
add it to the to your watch list. And Shah,
I think both of you need to see before the
year is over. The the Jenny Penn movie with the
puppet in the asylum, because that's that is a real
that is a real, real good movie. I think people
are gonna be talking about those two movies in particular,

(33:47):
the Jenny Penn remember the one with John Lithgal where
the serial killer is in is in an old age
home and he's using.

Speaker 2 (33:56):
The puppet retirement home.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, there's something Jenny Penn that was the
rule And dude, fucked up movie, man, so fucked up well,
and it's a dude, it's crazy. It's like a fever dream.
There's like the ending is weird and you're just like,
what a movie. These are movies worth checking out on
shutter for sure, And uh I just paid my shutter

(34:19):
feet today. But we have a bunch of trailers to
get to and uh one of them is a strange movie.
It's a small market movie starring ice Cube, which the
entire film is his computer screen. I'm not making any
of this up, people. Literally, the entire fucking film is
him his You're seeing him looking at his computer screen

(34:43):
from his computer screen. It is a new take on
the classic HG. Well's story War of the Worlds. I
love the idea behind this, but I don't know if
this is for me. But we're gonna check it out
with you right now.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
I can hear this week.

Speaker 1 (35:03):
It's a mirror pay.

Speaker 7 (35:07):
You took the Sunday Crave Guards shift again.

Speaker 3 (35:08):
He's got that old Laurence Fishburg look.

Speaker 7 (35:10):
Almost But Dad, when's the last time you left the office?

Speaker 1 (35:14):
That's classified? Oh, Apartment Hall, mad Security, it's Epstein files.

Speaker 8 (35:27):
Yes, the surveillance industrial complex is collecting massive amounts of
data with the Goliath program. Our most precious resource on
Earth is data. I thought it was Sydney Sweeny and
data is food for the Superior Intelligence.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
She has good jeans and we're not allowed to say
that anymore.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
Wow, that looks pretty cool, by the way.

Speaker 3 (35:55):
You Wow, whoa can you tell you what they're comprised?

Speaker 6 (36:03):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (36:05):
No, sir, I've never seen anything like this even before you.

Speaker 2 (36:10):
Yeah, Oh wow, this video is coming in from all
over the world, terrifying machines riding out of these meteors.

Speaker 1 (36:19):
That looks pretty good to me. Man, some of these shots, Yeah,
get away from that.

Speaker 9 (36:27):
Down.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
Wow, I'm coming for you now.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
Interesting. Okay, so shot. I have to say I was
impressed with that trail. I like the concept. I just
don't know if I could watch two hours of a
movie like that. Well.

Speaker 2 (37:02):
I saw a tagline on there that said, it's worse
than you think, and they are goddamn right.

Speaker 4 (37:07):
I've hated everything about that. I fucking hated that.

Speaker 1 (37:11):
Dude.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
That is an exact type of movie. I don't like
cheesy cgi aliens. It's robot know no thing.

Speaker 1 (37:19):
Well, it's a take on war. That's what world the
world is though.

Speaker 4 (37:22):
Yeah, but I like the Spielberg version more.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
I haven't seen the classic like sixties version, but the
Spielberg one was like legitimate, like Aliens.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
You know a good friend shot. Jamie Pennycook is saying
it's on Amazon Prime right now, this movie. Yes, didn't
know that one right to a Prime B show, B show,
Like I said, I like the idea, I just don't
I think two hours is like a bit much to
see a film like that.

Speaker 9 (37:45):
It is.

Speaker 3 (37:46):
And here's the thing. I watched Unfriended a long time ago,
and it was interesting to watch with headphones in on
a tablet in a dark room at night. Yeah, because
it was immersive, right, it's fun. Yeah, that's kind of However,
this is an action movie. It's not about people streaming
something second.

Speaker 6 (38:00):
You know.

Speaker 3 (38:01):
Fine, maybe if they would have made this movie ten
years ago, during the heyday of the found footage, this
seems way kind of dated now. And I know, new technology,
AI data, big data, all that shit, it's topical, but
it also feels dated in the sense because it feels
like they're going too hard on the found footage, which
is like ten years old.

Speaker 1 (38:20):
I know, it seems like we've exhausted this, but you know,
I mean, you know, if I got none to watch,
I might check it out over the weekends on Prime.

Speaker 2 (38:27):
The thing is, I don't have a problem with the
found footage portion of it, because found footage, more than
ever now makes sense with everyone streaming and using Yeah, everybody, fine,
that actually makes sense. Like, I think that's a good
use of it. I just I hate like the platform
they're using. It looks like something from like the nineties.
It's like super cheesy, like the graphics.

Speaker 9 (38:47):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
I think the graphics date too.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
They looked they obscured it.

Speaker 3 (38:51):
Early on, I thought, okay, they're obscuring it with kind
of the distortions, so they're getting away with it. And
then there's like full on, here's a plane, like no
physics involved, just dropping out of the sky and.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
The thing is, man, we were just talking about this
off air. They discovered some interstellar object that might be
coming towards Earth. So like, this would actually terrify me
if it was if they executed properly.

Speaker 1 (39:13):
But Frey and Frey and it hits us.

Speaker 4 (39:16):
I mean, it's a fucking thing, dude. It's they've detected it.

Speaker 2 (39:18):
It's coming towards us apparently, So it's cool.

Speaker 1 (39:20):
I'm tired, but I.

Speaker 4 (39:22):
Don't want to work anymore.

Speaker 2 (39:23):
Man, take me out.

Speaker 1 (39:24):
Well, Well, something we're all excited about that's coming out.
I think in the fall is the HBO. By the way,
it's now HBO, it's not Max anymore. Will be officially
prequel to the IT movies and franchise, which is now
like a a it's a series. Welcome to Darry. They
released another trailer for it. I have to say, the

(39:46):
more I see about this, the more I am excited
to watch this. I am very very I wasn't the
biggest IT person, but I'm excited to check this out.
So we have a new trailer released for the HBO upcoming.
I guess it's a I might be a don't know
if it's a mini series, but omitted series, maybe limited series.
Welcome to Darien. This looks great.

Speaker 10 (40:09):
My family and I just moved to town and we're
looking for things to fill the place.

Speaker 1 (40:13):
So how are you adjusting?

Speaker 5 (40:15):
Things are certainly different here.

Speaker 1 (40:20):
Dairy is a beautiful place, but things.

Speaker 7 (40:23):
Do happen from time to time.

Speaker 1 (40:29):
Well, it's kind of topical, isn't that situation you do
not wish to acknowledge.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
Or you are not aware of the caliber of disaster.

Speaker 1 (40:40):
I love these shots so far.

Speaker 7 (40:43):
Maddie was last seen the night of January fourth at
the theater.

Speaker 1 (40:46):
Oh, they're using micro feet.

Speaker 5 (40:47):
You did tell me he'd been seeing weird stuff for
a while before he disappeared.

Speaker 7 (40:51):
What in the hell is it the Samrita?

Speaker 1 (40:54):
You know, an evil spirit.

Speaker 3 (40:56):
Well, there's quite a diverse town for night.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
You should be a very diverse for the at least
watch for the tell tale signs of corruption. How many?
Oh yeah, they have a shot shack referend You have
to tell someone.

Speaker 7 (41:08):
No one's gonna believe us.

Speaker 2 (41:11):
Most people they only believe what they can see with
their own eyes.

Speaker 3 (41:22):
Why did you see the picture?

Speaker 1 (41:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (41:24):
Did it look like the old one?

Speaker 9 (41:30):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (41:31):
I don't know what the hell it is.

Speaker 7 (41:38):
People in this town. It's like the Devil's any.

Speaker 1 (42:08):
Wow, shah, there's no way you're not watching that.

Speaker 2 (42:12):
No, see, I'm into this. This, This redeemed the whole
You don't watch you don't watch serious.

Speaker 1 (42:18):
This an aliens are gonna change your whole game.

Speaker 2 (42:20):
Yeah for sure, man, I mean this this looked great
because the thing that I like about it is they
they showed so much without really spending too much time
on showing specific scenes.

Speaker 4 (42:30):
And it looks like it gets weird.

Speaker 6 (42:32):
Man.

Speaker 2 (42:32):
I mean, there was some almost like cold horn vibes
to it. There was some dude with a fucking wooden
mask in the middle of the woods. I'm curious to
see what that leads to.

Speaker 1 (42:40):
We don't know the origin. We don't know. This is
not from the books, This is not from the lineage.
This was created out of the lineage. You know, b
show how brilliant was putting this on in October. Holy
fuck amazing.

Speaker 3 (42:53):
I hope that continues, and hope Stephen King continues to
be associated with good stuff because he's kind of half.

Speaker 1 (43:00):
Well, he's got the long road. I think we're all
excited about the long road, you know.

Speaker 4 (43:04):
Coming like the Monkey.

Speaker 2 (43:05):
I just watched The Monkey recently. I didn't.

Speaker 1 (43:06):
I gotta check that out. Oh yeah, Monkey coming to
Hulu the seventh, August seventh, which is in another week.

Speaker 3 (43:13):
As far as the trailer is concerned, I really, I
really am interested in what they're doing because it's not
just about the clown and the kids. It's like how
this evil force has warped the entire town, this pall
that hangs over it, which deepens it more than just Okay,
we've seen the clown story with the kids. Now we've
seen it again. Now it's something to brought it out
a little bit and give it some more.

Speaker 1 (43:33):
Well, hopefully they're flushing it out. That's what I that's
my interpretation is they're going to flesh out the story
because they have card Blanc. Now they don't, they don't
have to. They're not tied source material, but I think
visually it looks amazing. I think they I think they
spent up a good penny on this motherfucker. It looks
like it was shot like, not on a set, but
it looks like it was shot like it looks. I

(43:54):
love the wide shots of the town. I love the
sixties ear late fifties vibe there, and I hope this
is just delivers. Honestly, I'm excited about it. It's gonna
be a fun watch in October. This is a trailer
that next is that I saw in front of Eddington
last week, which we're not really talking about because I'm
the only one who saw it and it's very complex.

(44:15):
I might have to do a whole show on it
this month, or if Shassi's it, we might have to
do a whole side show on it. But because it's
just so bizarre. But this is a Spike Lee movie
that's not really getting a lot of press that's coming
out soon. I believe it's some type of remake, but
it's an a twenty four movie that's going directly to Apple.
Apple is just becoming something we're all going to have

(44:36):
to have at this point. They just have too many
things on it, and it's it's called Highest to Lois.
It's got a brilliant cast. I think this trailer is
great and I was so excited when I saw this
in the movie theater because I'd heard about this film,
but I didn't know anything about it. And I'm a
huge fan of Denzel Washington. So this is highest to
Lowest coming to Apple. But it's an A twenty four production.

(45:03):
It can be back to life than just making money.
It's integrity, it is what you stand for. It's what
you actually believe. Do you believe in yourself?

Speaker 6 (45:14):
Do you believe you'll be successful?

Speaker 10 (45:20):
And the hard time will come from the good times.
The hard time will come from success. The hard time
will come from the money. And the mayhem follows? So
can you handle the mayhem? Can you handle the money?
Can you handle the success? Can you handle the failure?
Can you handle the lovers? Can you handle the memes?

Speaker 1 (45:37):
Can you handle everything that there is in between? That's
the question I have for you. Can you handle it? Oh?
Money ain't good money? B shure. I don't have Apple,
but I have to get it now because I won't

(45:58):
see this movie.

Speaker 3 (45:59):
Yeah. I mean, I always think like every time I
see Denzel Washington. Not every time, but a lot of times,
I still se him with the backwards hat doing the
hay Kids type of thing, and I wonder how long
he can continue doing that. But he still looks cool
as shit doing it. So, you know, this looks good.
I don't know if I'm want to get Apple TV
for it, but I really would like to see this.

(46:21):
I'm curious another one of these movies where it shows
us kind of a general sense what's going on, but
doesn't give you everything. And I'm all on board for that.

Speaker 1 (46:29):
Yeah, show this looks like the most New York movie
I've seen in a long time.

Speaker 4 (46:34):
Yeah, And I love Spike Lee movies man, like Clockers.

Speaker 1 (46:38):
I'm a bit I'm a big Spike Lee movie fan,
low key, likely just because he doesn't make that many
in the last bunch of years.

Speaker 2 (46:44):
Yeah, but I mean, you know, Clockers is probably the
last or he got game. Those two are like some
super power fucking New York City movies, and we don't
really get those like New York hip hop films anymore.
You know, I love to see a high Rockies in this.
That's that's kind of dope. But we haven't gotten a
good Spike Lee movie in a long time. I mean,
I can't even tell.

Speaker 1 (47:04):
You, no, I the last movie I saw off his
in the theater was his Old Boy remake, and I
was the only one there, and I still stand by it.
I think it was okay. I I Old Boy is
my favorite film, but I think it was okay. But
I think, you know what, Denzel just has this I
think innate thing that only a few people have that

(47:24):
as soon as he starts talking, B show you you
you go like you know what I mean, Like you
just kind of go, yes, you know what I mean,
Like when you see in a movie.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
Like such poise and such presence and such just I'm
trying to think of the word I'm stammering here, but
just doesn't even aura.

Speaker 1 (47:44):
Yeah, he's aura.

Speaker 3 (47:46):
It's like what people used to say, there's a reason
why Eddie van Halen is a great guitarist, But David
Lee Roth was the front man. He was the magic,
he was the the karasma. That's Denzel. He just has
side that very quiet, very subdued, but intense charisma.

Speaker 1 (48:02):
Yeah, and shot also, like I'm a huge fan of
Jeffrey right. What you don't see in this trailer, but
I think he plays the antagonist in this movie. So
you have Spike League, Jeffrey Wright, Denzel Washington, New York.
You know, it just seems like I can't miss.

Speaker 2 (48:19):
Yeah. You know the only thing that makes me kind
of annoyed is that it's it's an Apple for production.
Well yeah, to A twenty four. But Apple is putting
it out because I think they put out Macbeth with
A twenty four and then never got like a well
I know, yeah, I know, and I collect all the
E twenty four movies, so you know this will never

(48:40):
get a physical release because Apple doesn't Yeah, out that
was an Apple movie.

Speaker 1 (48:45):
I never I know this is true, you know, yeah, yeah,
I'm gonna Me and my wife are arguing over it
because I was like, we're trying to find like she
was like, we are not paying for another streaming service,
and I'm like, you know, the Mets have games on
Apple that I can't watch about one every thing, and
I'm just like, and I really want to see that
Macbeth very McBeth. I am a I am a McBeth person,

(49:05):
Like I go see Macbeth in multiple I've seen Macbeth
regionally here I've seen McBeth. I've seen a one man
Macbeth on Broadway. Alan Cummings did a one man Macbeth play.

Speaker 4 (49:17):
I saw John who did the o G McBeth. Was
it a Polanski?

Speaker 1 (49:23):
Well, Richard Burton, I think was mid the og That
wasn't Polanski. I think Richard Burton Macbeth. There's been There's
been various Macbeth's. There was a modern day one with
John Totorro did a mafia version one that was called
something that most people haven't seen. But I'm a McBeth person.
I've seen McBeth maybe six seven different illiterations in my life.

(49:47):
But I don't know Plansky did it really?

Speaker 2 (49:51):
Who played McBeth?

Speaker 4 (49:53):
Macbeth?

Speaker 2 (49:53):
Who played but I knew he did it?

Speaker 1 (49:56):
Oh, I could watch that.

Speaker 3 (49:57):
John Finch, John Finch Wow.

Speaker 6 (50:02):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (50:03):
Yeah. And I like Shakespeare shit. I'm a fan. I'm
a Shakespeare guy. I go see Shakespeare shit and I
enjoy it. I don't like the comedies as much as
I like the dramas. But Macbeth is my favorite, my absolute,
absolute favorite. My second is probably Othello, and my third
is probably Tempest. But I was a theater kid, so
to me, this is all like very different shit. But
I will be checking out that movie. Uh. And I

(50:24):
love the use of Big Payback, one of my favorite
James Brown songs, even though it's been used entirely too much,
entirely too much in movies.

Speaker 2 (50:31):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (50:32):
But we have a really cool trailer to check out.

Speaker 3 (50:34):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (50:34):
This is a small market film, but I love the concept.
I just saw it today. It's called American Sweatshop Amaze.
Like this sounds like a bad religion album right off
the bat. As soon as I heard this, I was like,
I'm gonna be checking this bucker out. But we're gonna
check it out right now. And it's a small market movie.
You've never heard of it, don't be surprised. But where
do you see the concept?

Speaker 7 (50:56):
Thank damn it? What just my first in the morning
is a beheading? Oh yeah, I've seen that one. The
job is easy viewing posts that have been flagged by users.

(51:16):
If she could violate all terms of views, click delet.

Speaker 2 (51:21):
Click Oh what okay?

Speaker 8 (51:24):
If you're going to throw up, try to actually do
it in a trash can because they tried to recurpet
cleaning here.

Speaker 7 (51:29):
Remember we're not sensors. We are moderators.

Speaker 2 (51:35):
I've an area.

Speaker 9 (51:39):
Yeah, oh my god, I mean a lot of balls
on this.

Speaker 1 (51:52):
I want to send the hammer ticket to the police.

Speaker 7 (51:55):
You did your job, you click the let end of story.
I wish there was something I could do.

Speaker 1 (52:04):
You don't need to wish. You're a police officer.

Speaker 7 (52:06):
You could just go do something.

Speaker 1 (52:10):
This guy's a maniare it will hurt you worse, you
won't do you know that?

Speaker 7 (52:16):
Do you buy chance? Have a gun that I could borrow?

Speaker 1 (52:20):
What? You're not the hero here, You're just a regular
person doing a regular job.

Speaker 4 (52:31):
I can't feel free until I do something about it.

Speaker 1 (52:36):
Violence goes viral, always has, always will. I'm likely this.

Speaker 7 (52:44):
Sometimes the only way to stop a bad thing is
with another bad thing.

Speaker 1 (52:58):
All right, right? Shot? Seriously, this looks great.

Speaker 2 (53:04):
So this is hands down my favorite trailer of the
night so far. I love this concept. I was telling
you guys this. I watched a documentary on this. I
don't know if it was on a streaming platform or
if it was on YouTube, but they legitimately interviewed moderators
for Facebook that do this exact same thing, and they
described the same thing.

Speaker 1 (53:24):
Man.

Speaker 2 (53:24):
They were saying, like, there's child abuse, there's animal cruelty, murders, suicides,
like all kinds of crazy shit that they see on
a daily. Like, again, this is more terrifying to me
than most horror movies because I know this happens on
a daily It's happening right now. Somebody's flagging shit down
right now.

Speaker 1 (53:43):
Oh for sure.

Speaker 2 (53:46):
Crazy concept And I think, I don't know, man, it
looks good, man, And this looks really exciting.

Speaker 1 (53:50):
Does anyone know who this girl? Don Stoney says. She
looks like Brittany Murphy who's still dead. We haven't figured
out a way to bring her back yet. Her name
is Lily Ryan Hart. But b show, do you think
this qualifies as a horror film? Because I feel like
it kind of walks that line.

Speaker 3 (54:04):
It does looks like it's leaning into that. I would say,
maybe what psychological thriller? Like a thriller for sure? I
like the concept. Man, It's like, what would you do
if you put yourself in that situation? Can you just
be one of those people who continues watching this terrible shit?

Speaker 1 (54:22):
I know?

Speaker 3 (54:23):
But then once you go out and do this, you know,
is this real? Is it fake? And then what happens
when you take action and violence begets violent. It's like
it's a very complex type of story for such a
simple premise.

Speaker 1 (54:35):
I really like it, man, Yeah, I like them of us. Well,
I love that title. I think that title is so
fucking punk rock for sure. But that girl looks familiar.

Speaker 3 (54:44):
I don't know who the firm Riverdale?

Speaker 1 (54:47):
Oh wow? Okay, so she's either Betty or Veronica. I
assume she's one of those two. Riverdale was supposedly a
very cool show, very cool show. I guess she was Betty. Yeah,
I guess, yes, Veronica I think was a girl who
was like Latina in that show. What else is she from?
I'm just curious?

Speaker 3 (55:04):
Look both ways, Halen Harper, Chemical Hearts and Hustlers. Okay, yeah,
she looks kind of young Olie's angels.

Speaker 1 (55:12):
I see Oh god, that bomb? Okay, well I didn't
see that, Bishow. What does SNDN mean in our private chat?

Speaker 3 (55:18):
What is that sn DN?

Speaker 1 (55:21):
Yeah? You have it in the in the as the
trailers that I don't know what that means.

Speaker 3 (55:25):
Silent Night, Deadly Night teacher.

Speaker 1 (55:27):
Oh well, now we got to play it. We got
a couple more trailers for you guys, but one of
them is interesting because its stars the dude, who I
think was the worst thing to happen to the Halloween
reboot franchise. But it's a remake. We're rebooting the classic
Silent Night, Deadly Night series, which we always love to

(55:48):
revisit around the Christmas time around here. The trailer came
out a couple of weeks ago and we haven't been
able to squeeze it in. It's a teaser trailer, but
I am excited for this because it's Silent Night, Deadly Night.
I believe it's coming to theaters at Christmas time, which
could be a big deal.

Speaker 2 (56:05):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (56:05):
Anyway, this is the teaser trailer for Silent Night, Deadly Night.

Speaker 6 (56:11):
In nineteen eighty four, one film shocked audiences. It was
banned from theaters, that traumatized. I remember generation yea oh
from the studio, that bright look. He too comes anew
and on the vision of the cult classic.

Speaker 1 (56:35):
This Christmas.

Speaker 6 (56:38):
Spread the Hall of Me Fear Silent Night, Deadly Night.

Speaker 1 (56:51):
Okay, now, Bisha, I think this is coming to theaters
even though it's a bloody, disgusting, but I love the
look of it right off the bat. I just love
the It's a little gritty looking.

Speaker 3 (57:00):
It looks good. It reminds me of movies like Silent Night,
Deadly Night, and Christmas Evil. It's got like the kind
of the Terrified Three had this too. It's one of
the things I actually liked about it, where like it
looked a little gritty, and because of the grittiness with
the glow of the lights, it made things seem kind
of hazy.

Speaker 1 (57:17):
Yeah, it did look pretty cool Terfire three. It's funny
brought that up.

Speaker 3 (57:20):
And I'll say this as a Halloween fan who hated
Halloween ends. I don't think his performance was the problem.

Speaker 1 (57:27):
I I don't know, but the character I didn't. The
character didn't.

Speaker 3 (57:31):
I like the kid who played Corey, who's going to
play the main character in this movie. So this for
what I saw, not a whole lot, but looks pretty
good so far.

Speaker 1 (57:38):
Yeah, sew, what did you take on this? Because you're
very familiar with all the but I think almost every
Silent Night, Deathly Night.

Speaker 2 (57:44):
Yeah, I've seen the first three. I know there's five
of them. I have all five, and i've seen the
last two. The first two I really enjoyed.

Speaker 3 (57:53):
I like this, you know.

Speaker 2 (57:54):
I like the way it's shot too. It shot kind
of like like how it was in the eighties. It
almost has like peel V shots too, you know what
I mean, like the way they yeah interesting. Yeah, it
has like PELV shots, which I which I appreciate in
a case like this because I don't know if this
is coming to theaters, but this is something I would
go to the movie theater for.

Speaker 1 (58:13):
I hope been. I mean, if terrify a minute at
the theater is bloody disgusting to get into theaters. Oh,
our friend mister Anderson is joining us. Uh, mister and
out to a good friend there. But he said, I
like it when the lens doesn't look so polished in
these type of harrifles. Yeah, that's what I think what
we were talking about. Like it it's like the color,
like I don't know, it looks I hate this is
gonna sound strange, but it almost looks like a porno

(58:34):
movie to like an old Honestly, I don't know. I
know that sounds weird, but like the like that, you know,
like when you see a movie with this kind of
color scheme shot to film, you're not seeing a gritty
drama or a rom com shot. You're seeing something really
either really fucked up indie movie or a horror film.

Speaker 2 (58:56):
Yeah, it feels it feels like filthy and grimy, you
know what I mean. I want these movies to feel dirty,
you know. I don't want them polished. I want them
to look kind of like this, does you know? I
would even like some scratches on the on the on
the film, you know, like act maybe there, you know,
maybe that's what Grindhouse films they have. You know, they

(59:17):
have all these scratches and dust and dust particles still
in the film. So I'm sure that's probably something they
would have to digitally put in.

Speaker 1 (59:23):
But that's I'm sure that that would be fun, that
that would be fun.

Speaker 4 (59:26):
That'll do that in two seconds.

Speaker 1 (59:28):
So yeah, I would I help way up to look
and see if this is going to theaters. I hope
it does. I would love to see this at Christmas
Time movie theater. I really would, I really really would.
I just think it would be so funny. I think
there'd be a lot of old people there that remember
the old one, because I was a little boy when
that was in the Daily News and the New York
Post how it was getting banned and there was protesters
at the Oceana Movie Theater in Brighton Beach in Brooklyn,

(59:51):
and I wanted to see this movie so fucking bad.
Like I was in like seventh grade and I really
wanted to see this movie. And you would hear the
silent dark dardar, no one under seventeen will be admitted
of that parent of regarding, and I was like, fuck,
and my parents sucks so bad. There's no way I
would ever get to go see this movie. But b
show just a quick reminder. I know we have a
special trailer we're going to close out with. Is that

(01:00:13):
the Jester two Jitters? Or is that is Jitters?

Speaker 3 (01:00:16):
Jester two and Jitters are two separate movies. Jitters is
the one that I got hit up had talked to
the director about.

Speaker 1 (01:00:22):
So well, yeah, who was that director? Let's play it
now since we brought it up, and then we'll go
right to that whistle and then we'll just call it
a down.

Speaker 3 (01:00:28):
So Mark Zammitt, he's a director, producer, actor, He's the
CEO of Aptitude Films. He sent me a link to
his trailer for his new movie called Jitters. I feel
like we talked about a teaser or saw a picture
this a while back. I basically I'm not gonna say

(01:00:48):
anying about it till we watch it. But it's an
interesting concept. He has an Indiegogo that I'll post a
link for if anyone's interested. But it's basically a thriller
horror movie, says Detective Collie Moore, a single to a
first father, stumbles upon a mysterious case. Digging deeper discovers Jitters,
and then we will watch the trailer.

Speaker 1 (01:01:06):
Well, we don't know this guy, but he sent it
to us, which we think is very cool, and it's
exactly in our wheelhouse. So I'm sorry. What his name is? Mark? Oh? Sure,
let me go back. What's his name? It was Mark Zammitt,
Mark Xammitt, Mark, Thank you for uh for asking us
to share this with our with our pals here, and
we're gonna we're gonna give an unbiased opinion of this movie.

(01:01:30):
I believe. Is it coming to video B show? Is
it streaming?

Speaker 3 (01:01:34):
I think they're sorting that out.

Speaker 1 (01:01:36):
Okay, well we're gonna check it out. Let's let's check
out Mark's movie, Jitters.

Speaker 3 (01:01:47):
Sam, you've seen your fair share of bad.

Speaker 1 (01:01:50):
Thanks. What's going on? It's gonna be the.

Speaker 7 (01:01:58):
Next big thing.

Speaker 1 (01:01:59):
It's called jit is yellow? Oh? Is that an evil
clown jitters. So it looks like it this kind of
looks like se I'm punk.

Speaker 9 (01:02:14):
I love that.

Speaker 1 (01:02:15):
That's my favorite shot. Next thing right now, the clown's
creamy out.

Speaker 9 (01:02:22):
It looks like Brad Garrett in a way.

Speaker 1 (01:02:24):
That would be great if it's Brad Garrett jurors and
big deep voice. Wow, that's cool. God fail whoa this
based is real? Wow? Is this an American movie?

Speaker 3 (01:02:50):
I think he's based out of the UK. But let
me double track some.

Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
Cool visuals there, shah, I I I'm curious what that's?
What that what? I'm curious more about the story now.

Speaker 2 (01:03:00):
Yeah, I think I think he should definitely be proud
of this.

Speaker 1 (01:03:02):
Man.

Speaker 4 (01:03:02):
I was not expecting it to be as good as.

Speaker 1 (01:03:04):
Yeah, it's cool trailer.

Speaker 2 (01:03:06):
Yeah, this actually looks good, man, it's it actually looks
really really good. I really liked the scene with the
eye gouged out, you know, like that that looked like
some really really good practical effects.

Speaker 1 (01:03:16):
Body. The fire ship looks pretty fun. The fire ship
for a small market film, that a little much.

Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
I don't I don't know what what the clown had
on at the end with like the almost like the
old school fucking Martian.

Speaker 1 (01:03:31):
It looks like when they electric cute you the way
they that's yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:03:34):
I don't know what he had on, but that give.

Speaker 1 (01:03:36):
Like forties and fifties there.

Speaker 2 (01:03:38):
You see, this is this is a smart way to
approach a movie on an independent budget because he's not
trying to use terrible c g I like, he's just
using with the bare minimum that they have. They're making
the best of it, and it made it look fucking
groun like this is this is how you're supposed to
do it. So yeah, yeah, man ship, I want to

(01:03:58):
watch this. I watch it when it comes out.

Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
B show Mark made this a lot easier for us,
being a nice, cool guy because he put out a
good trailer.

Speaker 3 (01:04:04):
I know, you know, I always I always wonder how
it's gonna go because.

Speaker 1 (01:04:09):
Maybe you want to know something crazy. I'm just gonna
say this now because I've never told you guys this,
but I remember a couple of years ago when we
got when our friend Uncle Creepy was going to come
on to talk about the upcoming Terrifier too. In the
back of my mind, I was like, oh, I hope
this movie doesn't suck, because, like you know, we're talking
about it like six months in advance and giving it

(01:04:30):
like all this attention and then it becomes like this
fucking astronomical thing. You know, but b show, we might
have to have Mark come on and talk about this movie.

Speaker 3 (01:04:39):
Yeah, if he's willing, I'd love to have him on.
The thing I liked about it was the visuals were cool.
I love that hot tail against the skyline. I did
not expect, like film quality resolution wise, it to look
as good as it.

Speaker 1 (01:04:55):
Yeah, it looks good. Yeah, it looks good.

Speaker 3 (01:04:57):
And then the thing about Jitters the clown. You can
go really bad with clowns, you can go really good
and effective. Yeah, And there's something about him, the clown
that designed the head. It's like it's a little over
the top enough to where it works, but it's not
too much where it slaps you in the face. And
then it's almost like at the end of the trailer

(01:05:19):
when the gizmos start lighting up on his head. Yeah,
like it just takes it up at the notch. So
another notch. Excuse me, I mushmouth that one.

Speaker 1 (01:05:26):
Yeah, well, Mark, we might be having a conversation with
you on the air where you could flesh out this
show for us and tell I flesh out to the
film for us. But it's Jitters and yeah, that was
a lot of fun. Listen, we're gonna close it out
with a movie. That trailer came out earlier this week
from the star of it is Daphney Keen. If you
don't know that name. Daphney Keene is a young actress

(01:05:47):
who played X twenty three in the Logan movie who
also played the character again Laura, who is X twenty
three in Wolverine Deadpool, and she's becoming a bit of
a little bit of a starlet. She turned out to
be a gorgeous kid. She seems like a sweetheart. Great.
I'm a big fan of the character X twenty three
from the comics. She has a movie, a horror film

(01:06:08):
coming out. She's the star of it called Whistle. It's
a great trailer and we're gonna check it out now
before we head on over to Patreon. Oh I f
c shut her nice? What the hell is that? Oh?

(01:06:37):
I like that?

Speaker 11 (01:06:38):
Whoa whoah that.

Speaker 2 (01:06:54):
Flow thick frost.

Speaker 1 (01:06:56):
Yeah a lot of plus is only one my but
what's here?

Speaker 5 (01:07:01):
What if you hear the pestle scream, it's like ink
in depth with Yeah, it's not a choice.

Speaker 1 (01:07:18):
Wow, whoa.

Speaker 3 (01:07:28):
Yo.

Speaker 1 (01:07:29):
I don't care if he did the nun shot. I'm
gonna see that fucking move.

Speaker 4 (01:07:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
I don't know, man, This one is questionable for me
because it's a toss up. Some of the scenes look
really good and then some of it looks really really cheesy,
looks very blumhousey. So I this is one of those
I would have to check out to really be able
to give like a proper opinion on.

Speaker 4 (01:07:46):
Because the trailer I was all over the place.

Speaker 2 (01:07:49):
Some of the scenes, I was like, oh shit, I'm
sold on, like again, just like the previous trailer from
Mark that the guy set on fire, like that looked great,
and then the portion where the lady where the demon
is like crawling in the HVAC system and like that
looks really cheesy, look very blumhousy. I don't know, man,
it's I'm not too impressed by it, to be honest
with you.

Speaker 1 (01:08:09):
B Chow.

Speaker 3 (01:08:11):
I like the idea. I like some of the visuals,
and I think that's supposed to be like a Mayan
death whistle, And I think when they went to war,
they just they designed a whistle that they would blow
that sounded like someone screaming and ship. So that's I
guess the lore is if you hear the sound of
the whistle, then you were going to die.

Speaker 1 (01:08:28):
Fine.

Speaker 3 (01:08:29):
I like old shit. I like ancient shit. It's I
like more of that and not vampires because we've done
that to fucking death and possession movies too. But like,
that's that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (01:08:38):
I like it.

Speaker 3 (01:08:39):
I like Daphney Keane. I'm willed to go out on
a limit this one. However, the the herky jerky heads
and ship like very blummy.

Speaker 4 (01:08:48):
It's a bottle concept. I just don't think it's they're
the right people to do it.

Speaker 2 (01:08:53):
The director of None should not be touched on something
like this.

Speaker 3 (01:08:55):
Yeah, the nun is just I don't you notice how
they waited for that credit to the very end, and
I show you're like long legs the monkey.

Speaker 1 (01:09:05):
It's like, shit, you love You're not gonna like this,
but check this out. I would check this out. I'm
concerned it might be PG. Thirteen and I'll skip it.
But it looks like it's a talk to me kind
of movie, you know, where it's gonna have brutal death scenes,
just fucking brutal brutal death scenes. You know, and she's
a cute kid, that Dafty keys. She's becoming a little
bit of a heartbreaker there. God bless her. You know

(01:09:27):
she's she's only about twenty. You know, she hasn't done
that much, but she's a part of that big lineage
now with the with X twenty three and all that
other shit. So interesting, interesting idea. I hope it's I
hope it's good. But we're gonna jump out over to Patreon.
We got some cool shit we need to talk about
over on the Patreon, So you got to go to
patreon dot com back Slish Spitball Media five bucks, five bucks.

(01:09:49):

your toes?

Speaker 5 (01:10:33):

somebody we were supposed to plug that we didn't plug?

Speaker 2 (01:10:45):

Speaker 4 (01:10:46):

Speaker 2 (01:10:47):
Yeahspically right a streaming like ten o'clock.

Speaker 1 (01:10:52):

Speaker 2 (01:10:53):
