Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yeah, welcome back to another exciting episode of Spitball Media podcast.
(00:39):
We're gonna be spitting out the top entertainment stories of
the week.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
We're glad you're here.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Uh, Sean, I don't know what's going on by you,
but I have floods, I have a one hundred degree
temperatures and it's uh, it's like Middle Earth out here.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Yeah. Man, I was really excited.
Speaker 4 (00:54):
I damn near started eating leaves outside, you know, I
started seeing the leaves fall a nice cool breeze, and
then now today it's hot as funk, it's rainy.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
And it's got small outside. It's just gross. Oh yeah,
same weather here, man.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Absolutely disgusting. B show. How is it in the Midwest.
Speaker 5 (01:10):
It's like mid seventies and swamp ass.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Yeah, it's disgusting.
Speaker 5 (01:15):
It's been ridiculous, man. It's like I went to the
office and because our air conditioning didn't kick on the
other day, was so hot in there. I smelled like
a sock. When I left, I'm like, oh, this is
not good.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
I contemplating putting the air on last night. It's almost
ducked over.
Speaker 5 (01:30):
We did two days ago, and my wife hates putting
the air on unless it's like ninety and finally she
gave in. She's like, this is fucking horseshit, let's turn
it on.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
Yeah, what Arizon twenty four hours ago?
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Your Arizona is just gonna well, I was gonna say,
when I walk by with the dog, I hear everyone
else's era, but I don't hear mine. If you're joining
us for the first time, thanks for hanging out with us,
consider giving yourself a gift, a special gift and affordable
gift with a lot of rewards.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
It's called our Patreon.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
That's where you're gonna get up to like fifteen hundred
hours maybe maybe more for just five bucks a month
of exclusive content. We're talking about like five years shot
worth of unheard public material.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
Absolutely, And there's a ton of people in the chat
room that are Patreons, so they can kind of co
sign the idea as well. But yeah, I mean a
ton ton of content on there, a ton of movie reviews,
you know, all kinds of.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
Shit, man, I mean solo shows.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
I don't know how many Q and A's we've done
so far, probably a lot, twenty thirty, I don't even know. So, Yeah,
and those are timeless because those are questions that you
guys are asking, So definitely recommend going back and checking
those out.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
If you're a you know, new subscriber, go check that out.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
And of course B show. It's an affordable premium program package.
Speaker 5 (02:43):
Unlike many others, it is in an era where everything
under the sun is going up in price, whether it's
other Patreon creator creators, no shade there, or whether it's
apples and bananas and fucking avocados, everything is going up
in the price. So we have five bucks gets you
the door thousands of hours of content, individualized content. When
(03:03):
you look at the Q and a's, and some of
the Q and a's have been so dense and so
deep that we've had to split them and do you know,
two different shows. So, like we said last time, instead
of doing a four hour Q and A and splitting
up twice in a month, what we've been doing is
carrying over to the following month and then October. We
haven't decided what we're going to do for a bonus
show yet, so yeah, stay tuned on that one.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
We'll do a Halloween theme and of course you want
to go to patreon dot com. Back slash Spitball media.
It's just five dollars. It's just five bucks. That's it,
five bucks, nothing zero. Your Disney Plus is going up
two dollars a month for no reason. By the way, Shot,
you'll appreciate this. Speaking of not being able to afford things,
I need a new door, a front door to my house,
(03:43):
and I need a new a storm door. So my
wife and I were talking about it and I said, well,
I think this is probably going to cost about seventeen
hundred dollars. Does anyone want to guess how much a
brand new, non wood, non steal a fiberglass door and
storm door costs?
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Anybody want?
Speaker 1 (04:00):
I guess it will blow your mind?
Speaker 5 (04:02):
Throw it to the chat first.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Yeah, well, Shaw, what do you think it costs brand
new front door of brand new storm door for your house?
Speaker 2 (04:08):
How much you think you spending.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Twenty three hundred dollars?
Speaker 1 (04:12):
Okay, B Show, what do you think we're spending over
five grand? B Show and Shah have their numbers. Joe
Punches has thirty two hundred, Donstony's going thirty two to
one thirty two oh one for Don Stony two thirty
two oh one. Do we hear thirty two thirty two oh,
three thirty two four forty nine hundred dollars from loads
(04:32):
forty nine one hundred dollars. It's astounding to just put
a new front door on your house because the old
one's crappy and you want to be ready for the winter.
So I assure you our five dollars.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Premium program package.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
It's just is very affordable. And of course there's a
great group of people in there. They push through this
very signature shot which is really the signature is the
Q and A.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
Dude just scared the hell out of me because I
need a new door and I want to replace my
windows and my back window.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Twenty g's twenty g's on fucking windows.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Windows easy, twenty g's right, big windows for the house.
Speaker 5 (05:09):
Twenty oh Yeah, for sure, I think we did. I
think it was ten thousand for us to do just
the windows on the back half of the house.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Yeah, Jesus, Chris, dude, I was going to get the
splits for the air, you know, the air and house.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Dude, the splits.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
We were going to get half the house done in splits.
It was six thousand dollars. Half the house. That's i'ming
upstairs where I am in my office in the girls
bedrooms and another bathroom and all that stuff.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Six grand to do.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Splits so five dollars Patreon dot com back slaves, fitball Media.
You can't you just you can't go wrong. B Shure,
who's hanging out with us in the old tap room.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
Got a few friends jumped in. We got Don.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
Stony, the Don Stony Esquire. Yes, Joe punches, the Joe punches.
He's not an esquire.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
Got our buddy, Chris Matthews.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Chris Matthews is peeping. He peeped this right away, this
d D shirt.
Speaker 5 (05:56):
Yes he did. We got Ryan Keith.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Oh what's up, young Ryan Keith? How are you sir?
Speaker 5 (06:00):
Yeah, there was someone else I thought snuck in there too.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Yeah, I thought I saw somebody else sneak in there too.
Speaker 5 (06:05):
But if we missed you, hit us up.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Yes, if we miss you, we will hit you up.
But thank you guys for hanging out with us. Oh,
keV Co, I see my buddy, keV Co chilling.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Who else? Yes, there's keV kep Co's in there.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Yes, absolutely, Okay, I just want to make sure we
didn't miss anybody.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Sorry, but if we miss you, we will get to you.
But interesting.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
We are now coming into like the Halloween home stretch.
I've been trying to catch up on some Halloween themed movies. Uh,
And frankly, I kind of struck out. I really wanted
to watch Dangerous Animals.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Have you checked that out yet? Everybody's telling us we
need to watch that.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
No, I don't have Shutter yet. Okay, I need to
get it again. I figured i'd just wait toll October
until VHS comes out, but I do have a pre order,
so I'm probably gonna just wait till it comes out
and just watch it on four K.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
But okay, and of course b show Brian, you know,
I think did you re enlist for Shutter for the season?
Speaker 5 (07:00):
Oh? I did. Yeah, I've only watched one or two
things on there. I gotta I gotta catch up.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
Yeah. Now, now, another movie we talked about a little bit.
I just want to get out of the way because
I watched it because a lot of people were putting
this on my radar was a movie called Night of
the Reaper. It is a an eighties throwback style slasher movie,
and uh, I checked it out this weekend. Frankly, I
was a little disappointed. It's not bad.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Shah.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
I think you would like it too. It's not it's
it's modern but based in the eighties. Lore takes place
in the eighties. I I I like the twist. I
actually didn't see the twist coming. There's a pretty significant
twist in the movie, which is I think why a
lot of people like it. But B show you saw
it as well. I thought it was okay. I didn't
dislike it. I just it was it was. I just
(07:47):
I maybe expected more from the heart.
Speaker 5 (07:49):
I didn't watch it.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
I thought shot watched it.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Oh, I thought you watched it.
Speaker 5 (07:52):
Yeah, I didn't. I want to. I know you. You
mentioned it and sent something to me about it. I
was gonna watch it this weekend and never got around
to it. We were I had to fuck with the
all weekend.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Oh take that ship the fuck down, obviously. Yeah, I
mean when I get to Dangerous Animals, I'm gonna check
it out.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
The show that's on my radar for the weekend.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
For sure, is at the moment where like The Nature,
the guy feeds bitches to the sharks. Oh, I forget.
Speaker 5 (08:16):
There's so much that's come out this year. I forgot
all about that. I thought you were talking about the
Nature Movie for some reason.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
No, no, no, that's this TV show with Maya Hawk
that's not available yet.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
But Seah, you remember that trailer. We thought that trailer
was great.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
Yes, I remember the trailer. I think I liked it
for the most part. I gotta I gotta try to
watch it's some shutter.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
Yeah, Shutters got it.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
Yea'll probably get Shutter next week.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Yeah, it's a good time for year to get it.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Yeah, there's a couple of things I want to watch
on them. Plus I'm sure they're gonna have some new
stuff coming out for October. Didn't we look at their
schedule for October.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
I don't think we covered it, but if not, we'll
have to cover it next week for Yeah, because it's October,
that would be a perfect time. We covered the regal.
We did the regal. Yeah that's yeah, yeah, Yeah, next
week we'll teke a look at shut Up because they
have the docket for the Halloween schedule. Marquis is joining us.
Shout out to Marquis there chilling with us. But you know,
I also got to wrap up Alien Earth. It ended
(09:11):
this week on a cliffhanger. We're not gonna spoil it
for anybody.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
Shah. You said you punched out early on that.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Huh.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
Yeah, I watched the second episode, and honestly I did
like it a lot more than the first one.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
Yeah, picks up, I don't.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
I don't really have a good reason why I checked out.
It's just simply because I have a hard time keeping
all the TV shows. But other than that, I don't
really have any complaints.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
Like, I liked it. It looked good. I liked the
premise from as much as I watched. The second episode
was really good.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
Yeah, second actually fucking pretty great.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Actually, I'm not opposed to rewatch it, like I probably should,
you know.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
So I might. I might start checking it out again.
I honestly just forgot about it, to be honest with you.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Yeah, it's very divisive b show. Like the critic from
Forbes that we like quite a bit, he fucking destroyed
it today. He actually really fucking he fucking destroyed it
said it so is terrible, disappointing the finale. We're not
going to get it too into it. But Bisha, you
said you having a hard time keeping up with it yourself, Right,
(10:10):
I did.
Speaker 5 (10:10):
I got like three four episodes in and kind of
zonked out. Man it. Honestly it shah it's I did
the same thing. First two episodes are all right, then
it slows down and it's a lot of like backstory
and weird shit going on. It does pick up by
the end and it gets really interesting. But I can
kind of see why people were disappointed in this because
if you look at other alien movies and the type
(10:33):
of action it has. Other than some key scenes in
a couple of episodes like that are really heavy, there's
a lot of episodes where there's not a lot going on,
not a lot of action, not a lot of gore.
There's a lot of set up, especially in the middle.
So I can understand why people didn't like it. And
also the way it develops into the end, like the
(10:53):
last two to three episodes, the way they go with
the monster and the hybrids and stuff. Yeah, it was
a little different and strange. I like where it's going,
but now it's kind of taking it in a completely
different direction.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
So it does it does.
Speaker 5 (11:07):
Yeah, it's I canna understand why it's divisive. I liked it,
but we'll see where it goes.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
Yeah, shot people like stay away from any spoilers for
the finale because it just kind of abruptly ends, like
it literally just ends and they play a pearl jam
song and now you don't know if they're doing another season.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
It's really how many episodes was it?
Speaker 1 (11:26):
Eight? Eight eight? But I will say this, I think
you're both well great, maybe one of the best.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Look at it looks fucking gorgeous.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
I mean eight s eight is pretty tolerable, so I
might actually be able to get through it.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
They're roughly fifty five minutes. Fifty minutes. They never go
above to it.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
Oh, don't ruin it now, dude, Now you're now you're
making me invest eight hours.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
That's that's true.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Great, well you'read invested too, you got you.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
I got to now that you put it, Now that
you put it that way, man, now it's scaring me away.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
I shouldn't have said yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
And to be honest, Noah Hawley the writer, I'm a
super fan of b show like I love Fargo, I'm
obsessed with I only think Fargo has one bad season.
I liked his his X Men offshoot show that only
me and fucking Mish for the only two people in
America that was Legion.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Legion.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
Yeah, Legion was so fucking strange, like I like. I
like that he's weird, and I love the way he
opens every episode with a creepy montage of like nothingness
with creepy music.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
He does that in Fargo and it's slammed dunk.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
So I like this guy. So I'm already on board.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
With this dude.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
But I have to tell you, I was surprised with
the negativity. It's pretty rampant, the negativity towards it.
Speaker 5 (12:34):
Yeah, that I could understand people being indifferent to it,
or like, if you're a hardcore alien fan, if you
don't like this, I kind of understand why. But also,
after how many installments, you can't keep doing the same shit, Yeah,
you have to do something different, Like we can't just
can't keep doing And not only not only did Noah
Holly in developing this story give you more aliens and
(12:57):
a different variety, but he also expands on the idea
of the sentient robots. Yeah, and there's more to that,
which becomes a huge central focus.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
And the dustopian future that is remaining Earth, which why
Earth is like this and we have space travel and everything, which.
Speaker 5 (13:12):
I think I said this offline to you, guys, I'm
starting to get suspicions. I'm putting my old Alex Jones
hat on. I'm starting my spidy senses starting to tingle lately.
I think this is predictive programming. They're trying to get
us used to seven companies owning the world.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
I think they are. Yeah, uh yeah, so uh sah.
I'm very curious to see where you land with this.
But the practical effects, like Chris Matthews brings up, it's
very refreshing that they kept the like seventy style.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
Robot future spit.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
The buttons are all thick and everything's analog shah. You
know what I mean That there's a meticulousness to this.
Speaker 4 (13:46):
Yeah, And that's what I appreciated about it, especially the
second episode was the practical effects.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
And I'm glad they're kind of coming back, even.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
Though it was rumors about you know, Gremlin's three and
Joe Dante said, you know, the only way I'm making
it is if we use practice.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
Yeah, and he owns it. Yeah, the only way you
was doing it.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
So I'm glad people were taking a stance on practical
effects coming back. I love miniatures, like I think those
should come back. I don't know if they still use
them in Hollywood.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
They do, do they really?
Speaker 1 (14:13):
Shah? They use miniatures in the Phoenician scheme. Yeah yeah,
but I mean yeah, oh you mean like from a
creature standpoint, not from a back back drop.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
Yeah yeah, like more so those like you know, like
epic fucking blockbuster hits like Gladiator and shit like that.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
Like it's all CGI now.
Speaker 4 (14:31):
Whereas back in the day you would get a lot
of it would be miniatures, which I think looks better anyway.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
Well, if if people haven't checked it out, I think
they should check it out. You know, it might not
be your cup of tea, but the the you know,
it's an original story. It's a gorgeous looking show, and
I think the cast is very good. And I love
the practical alien. We see so much of this alien
in the latter part of the series, as it kind of,
you know, becomes a part of the story. Not to
(14:56):
mention the other monsters are disturbing, the eyeball thing. I'm
gonna have nightmares about b show for the next twenty
fucking that was fantastic.
Speaker 5 (15:02):
I don't want to remember it.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
So much worse, it gets so much.
Speaker 5 (15:04):
Fun on the I don't know if it's episode seven
or eight, but like it's trying to get into somebody's
head and he's like pushing it. You can almost feel
like the rubber.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
Of the practical arms with the eye monster, and like.
Speaker 5 (15:16):
How about this you mentioned the creature, Okay, the Xenomorph
is always like it's dark, it's always in shadow. It's
hard to see. I feel like you can almost like
you can almost picture what the texture of the creature
is like because you see it in the sunlight so much.
You can almost it's like this weird probably skin plasticy,
leathery thing. I think that was a great move to
show it and to lighten up the color of it
(15:37):
a little bit, because it gives it more life and texture.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Well shot, one of the things is you're gonna see
the alien, the Xenomorph, the seven foot one, you know,
the one you've seen already in daylight, like out outside,
like in fucking daylight, and it's just you know, you've
just never seen that before, you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
Yeah, which is refreshing in an alien movie, because again,
the backdrop has always been arc you can barely see anything.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
You can't see shit.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
And I love horror movies that are done in the
Daylight again. One of the main reasons I I appreciate
mitsmar and Wickerman and so much. Yeah, because it's very different.
It stands out immediately to.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
Be afraid during the day is very different.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
Right, Yeah, there's no it has it's it's more impactful.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
Yeah, more impactful.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
So check it out if you if you like it.
If you don't like it, you know it's it's a
style is it's a style issue. Uh, and don Stony,
you're bringing up Task. I'm enjoying Task. That's from the
writer of Mayor of East Town.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
Which I thought was brilliant.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
If you haven't watched Task yet, Mark Ruffalo is a
little insufferable, but it's a fantastic TV show. It's only
been three episodes. It's about a biker gang in Pennsylvania
who are being robbed by an unknown person to them
who's robbing them And uh, it's a little bit more
complex than that. The FBI is involved. It's a great story.
(16:54):
I'm curious to see where it goes. But uh, yeah,
but big story. This weekend, opening in the box office,
we have the triumphant return of the one and Only
mister Paul Thomas Anderson. Now I was trying to remember
shod the last movie he had in a movie theater.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
Was it that Phantom Thread?
Speaker 4 (17:17):
It must have been unless that pizza movie got a release.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
What was that, Yes, Pizza Licorics Pizza Pizza.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
Yeah, I think that had a limited run, but I
mean small run.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
Yeah, it was not a national release as far as
that goes. Anyway, his new film, One Battle after Another
opens Now. I heard that rams fan, by the way,
young John joins us, and Rams fans just joined us,
and neck Beards has just joined us.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
I heard that rams fan just got out of the.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
Movie theater seeing this movie. I don't know if that's sure,
if he's on his way tonight. But this is a
huge movie. Leonardo DiCaprio, Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn b show.
This went from supposedly it was supposed to not do
well and now I think at about a ninety six
or a ninety eight on Rotten Tomatoes, where are we at,
Jesus fucking Christ, And they're they're saying it's going to
(18:09):
be a record opening for Paul Thomas Anderson movie, Leonardo
DiCaprio movie, and a bit sial tilt, which.
Speaker 5 (18:17):
That's fantastic for these guys, especially those two Benizo del
Toro and Leonardo DiCaprio, to still be doing odd, weird
movies like this. They're getting critical acclaim is fantastic. This
late you know, I hate to say this late in
their career, but you know, both guys.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
They're not young guys. They're they're they're not young people.
So then is not a young man either quite roight.
Oh jees, that's right.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
It looks like it too.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Yeah, but he's playing it, you know, he's playing older.
He's not playing in their age group.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
Just in general. I saw him do an interview and
I was like, holy shit, what Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
He looks really bad. That's lifetime of drinking and smoking. Honestly,
that's what that is. That's a lifetime of excessive cigarettes
and alcohol. But I mean, he is he's a hard guy.
He's a fucking you know, he's a you know, whiskey
drink and cigarette smoking Irish dude, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
That's just it.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
But shot, my expectations for this movie are through the
fucking roof.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
Likewise, man, as far as DiCaprio, like, he's this is
my favorite era that he's in his career.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
Because again, yeah, he is getting older. He still dates
young obviously.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
He bangs young though the vagina he gets older, shot
the vagina goes date gets Yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
But I feel like he's just taking on projects that
he personally feels like he could invest in, like emotionally,
like creatively, because like he.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Doesn't need the money anymore. So he's just doing product
that he actually likes.
Speaker 4 (19:35):
Right So the work movies with Scorsese like Tarantino, No,
actually yeah yeah, d Jiango and now Anderson. So he's
doing he's making his rounds man.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
B Shure. I might say he's the top actor of
that generation right now.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
I mean, is there anybody bigger?
Speaker 1 (19:56):
Like I mean in terms of the work now, I'm
not even talking about the success said whatever. I'm talking
about the work, like his work. If you look at
his dustier like like like Shaw said, this is like
he's apexing right now, he's just Leo.
Speaker 5 (20:10):
I mean, I'm trying to think of Jesus Christ. There's Titanic,
Romeo and Juliet.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
When you're going back now, I mean you're going back.
He was nominated for an Academy Award for Gilbert Grape
when he.
Speaker 5 (20:21):
I was gonna say Winsay and Gilbert Grape. I mean,
if he's been on fire for thirty years or more
at this he's ridiculous, dude, dude. And I'm trying to
remember anyone that was like his contemporary at that time,
because during the nineties you had like Tom Hanks, who
was in his like mid to late thirties, you had.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
Well Cruise slightly Cruise, I think is a contemporary.
Speaker 5 (20:40):
But like contemporary, but like older because I think older like.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
Brad Pitt and Cruse are older.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
But he's in that category star wise, you know depth,
Thank you Chris Matthews. Depth. I would put Depth, Cruise Shot.
Don't you think Depth, Cruise Pit are in one category?
Speaker 3 (20:57):
Yeah, I would put Brad.
Speaker 4 (20:58):
Pitt, Yeah, King Phoenix, and and DiCaprio.
Speaker 3 (21:02):
There is the three.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
Joaquin is in. Is DiCaprio's a flec I think is
in DiCaprio's category.
Speaker 3 (21:08):
And he doesn't have nearly as many.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
He doesn't have the good work, He's not well, he's
not as good. He's just not as good.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
As be sure. Let me share the screen real quick.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
I just pulled up Joe Punch is saying, is he
the modern day Daniel day Lewis, I think so, would
you think? Well, look at the guys his career.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
This isn't even all his movies, it's just some of them.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
This is the but shot. These are like epic movies. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (21:33):
Look we start off with basically Titanic, Gangs of New York,
Catch Me if you can.
Speaker 3 (21:37):
You know Spielberg obviously.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
And by the way, Shot he's the star of all
of these movies.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
Yeah, like he's that.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
Was that was Scorsese?
Speaker 1 (21:45):
Right, David was? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (21:47):
Yeah, Departed, same thing. Yeah, he's got a ton dude.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
J Edgar Hoover, the Hoover movie, Right, you played Jay Go.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
Hoover, Shutter Island? Who was that that was?
Speaker 1 (21:55):
That was? No? No, that was Scorsese, says Jesus, look
at this guy.
Speaker 5 (22:03):
Did you say, catch me if you can?
Speaker 2 (22:05):
Yeah, that's with Spielberg.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
I mean he's That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (22:08):
Not only has he worked with everybody, but he's done
almost every different type of movie other than like an
actual hard horror.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
Guys, don't forget Departed, don't forget Gangs of New York,
don't forget Inception.
Speaker 5 (22:20):
Speaking of Daniel day Lewis, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
I mean this is like this, dude shod nobody's got this. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
I think my top three from him is probably Gangs
of New York Once upon a Time in Hollywood.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
Wow, probably the Jango Those are prime. That's not three.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
Be sure you have your top three.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
I mean he's got bangers, man, Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (22:39):
It's so hard. We none of us mentioned the movie
he won the Academy Award for Either Too.
Speaker 5 (22:45):
I'm really partial to some of those early ones once
he and Gilbert Grave.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
I really Revenant he won for the Remnant.
Speaker 5 (22:51):
He did, but in as weird as it is, Romeo
and Juliet that boz Lermann.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
I love that, So I think that movie is fucking
artistically gorgeous.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Man.
Speaker 5 (22:58):
And then maybe Wolf of Wall Street.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
Oh shot, we forgot about to me.
Speaker 5 (23:02):
And I know maybe he's done this in other movies,
but that seemed kind of against type for him to
play just that ship bag New York Wall Street rich guy.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
But he nailed fucking great. Dude, do you got three?
B show?
Speaker 5 (23:13):
It's hard for me, man, Yeah, I said, I think
that was it. I think yeah, see, I go ahead,
because I think I said it was I'm.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
Going Gangs in New York I'm going, Uh, it's tough.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
I have to go depart it.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
Dude.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
He was just so fucking good. He was just so
fucking good.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
So I got Gangs in New York, departed, and I
think I'm gonna go Once upon a Time in Hollywood, man,
because shot, did you know he made up that one
scene in the trailer where he's yelling at himself and
breaking things? Did you know he made that whole thing up?
Speaker 3 (23:45):
No, you like he did improv?
Speaker 1 (23:46):
Yeah, the whole thing.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
Yeah, they just were Tarantino. They just started talking.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
That was not Yeah, it's completely made up.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
Dude.
Speaker 4 (23:54):
Now that we pulled this up, I totally forgot about
this boy's life. I haven't seen that in probably like the.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Great den Funny and Rough movie that's about.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
Thomas Wolf, about the author Thomas Wolf. B you got
your three man, he's got bangers.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
I've never seen Basketball Diaries.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
Has amazing, amazing, incredible.
Speaker 5 (24:11):
I said, I'm I said, I'm partial to that Romeo
and Juliet movie because I saw that really young. Well,
I can't find you. I have to switch one out
for Gangs of New York because that movie is fucking great.
And then maybe the Wolf.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
Of Wall Street. Yeah, yeah, well dude, I mean, but
look at this. I mean, you're not going to see
another guy like this, sho, You're just not gonna see another.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
Guy like this. And who directed The Great Gatsby?
Speaker 2 (24:35):
Baz Larrmon.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
I think it was Lehman almost positive Gatsby's okay, it
was style over substance with Gatsby. You know it really
was am I right, b Shaw, Boz Lehman, Yep, yeah,
Boz Lehrman and Shah. You notice he's working with the
same three or four people all the time, you know
what I'm saying, Like.
Speaker 4 (24:58):
Yeah, it's pretty much called Scorsese, Tarantino and hopefully now
Paul Thomas Anders and I'm hoping.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
Imagine he's imagined that's his new mus now is is
he's working.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
With What was that Don't Look Up movie? We watched
the trailer for that?
Speaker 1 (25:12):
It was okay, it was very netflixy. It was like
a thing where a comic's coming. It's a dark comedy
by Adam McKay. It's a lot of famous people. You know,
he plays like a chubby like he's like a puffy
scientist who's no one's paying attention to this thing it's okay.
It's very like like political. In the chat, people are
talking about Joe Punches is talking about Inception. People love
(25:32):
that movie. Uh, he's got Wolf of Wall Street and Departed.
Ryan keeps like Gangs in New York, but Cameron Diaz
brings it down. Yes, she kind of sucks in that movie, definitely. Uh.
Don Stoney's got him in the Revenant. That's his Academy
Award turned for him. Shah, I think he should have
at least.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
Three or four Academy I agree. I think honestly, he
probably should have more. It's crazy that you work with
Alex Garland. Also, we'll forget about that. What did he
do with Alex Carlin the Beach?
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Oh that's right, Alex Garland.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
Wrote first the book.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
Yeah. Well, listen, this movie is supposed to be fantastic.
I'm gonna probably see it during the week. I don't
know if I can get to it this weekend. I
am definitely going to see it. And Uh, I have
a feeling it's gonna be a movie We're gonna be
talking about a lot com Academy Award season for sure.
Speaker 5 (26:25):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
But we want to get to some other news.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
Uh. Keenan Thompson. Uh, Keenan Thompson of Keenan and kel
who we recently just talked about because he's rebooting out
of fucking no Apparently he's getting into producing now. But
Keenan Thompson, as we discussed last week, is doing a
sleep away camp.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
We don't know much about it.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
It's very early in the stages, but it's involving the
original some of the original people. From the director point
is it going to be co writing it. But we
just found out this week out of nowhere, Keenan tom
is gonna be producing a macho man biopic. Now obviously, shah,
this is a thing.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
Where casting is gonna be.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
Everything, absolutely everything, and we probably have no idea even
on the radar this might be.
Speaker 2 (27:18):
But what was your reaction to hearing this.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
I'm actually all for it.
Speaker 4 (27:24):
Again, he's a he's a big time macho man fan.
I think that's anyway, so you must and Lenny Pofo
actually wrote the movie and work with him on this
craz I'm excited for man. I'm hoping, you know, he
puts some soul into it and puts his heart into
it and actually puts some effort because again, casting I
don't know who they would cast as macho Man.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Might be an unknown, just somebody who could pull it
off physically and with a voice that was believable. That
might be it. I probably a younger person obviously, who
could they could?
Speaker 5 (27:53):
You know, they should just have Dan Soder do the
voiceover and just have some random guy play it.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
Be sure. What do you think of this, because again
I think casting. To me, it's gonna be casting at
the end of the day, just casting, Like, yeah.
Speaker 5 (28:04):
You can't have a situation like iron Claw or some
JABRONI walks out looking like Rick Flair and everyone says
like it stops the movie dead. That's the one thing
everyone hated about it.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
People really didn't like that.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
Yeah, sorry, no, no good. I was gonna say, what
about Chris Hemsworth.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
He was supposed to play Hogan, so that might be
a little weird.
Speaker 5 (28:23):
He's a little big too, because I would have to
imagine that with this movie they would find someone a
little shorter, and that would be part of the thing,
like I gotta get I gotta compete with the big guys.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
It's gonna be a shorter, younger person that we probably
a TV actor that we don't know who the fuck
it is b show or you know, maybe Pedro Pascal.
You know, I'm gonna pro Pascal is gonna play Lannie
Paedro Pascal is gonna play Lue Albado.
Speaker 5 (28:45):
Like it's just gonna be some random thing Lannu his
own dick and everything.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
Yeah, he probably couldn't.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
He could not lying.
Speaker 2 (28:55):
I mean an older version. I wouldn't hate that, honestly.
Speaker 5 (28:57):
Throwing frisbees and ship around.
Speaker 1 (28:59):
And I think casting this is to me is a
casting thing. And who's gonna play Elizabeth. It's just like
I'm already like and like, how dark are we gonna go?
Probably a little dark, But I'm excited about this. But
it's very early stages. Not much to report here, but
(29:19):
recently I want to bring this up. We get to
some trailers. There was the Fantastic fest is going and
there's some festivals going on, and a lot of horror.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
Movies are screening at these festivals.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
And one of the big talk, big talk films coming
out of this as a movie I had not heard
of until the other day. It's called Primate. And this
when I started reading about this and watching people's tiktoks
b show about what this was about.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
My brain was on fire.
Speaker 1 (29:50):
Basically, it's about a family that has a domesticated chimpanzee.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
They go on a vacation with it.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
It gets bitten by an animal and gets rabies and
starts systematically murdering the entire family.
Speaker 5 (30:01):
Oh my god, it's like Kujo meets a monkey.
Speaker 1 (30:07):
Now we have little We have a poster for it.
But but guys, the thing that stands out to me
is that it was said that the primate is not
played in CG or by an actual primate. It is
played by a practical effects person shot in the fucking
cost And by the.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Way, I love that poster.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
With the little Teddy bear and shit, yeah, oh show,
what are you thinking here?
Speaker 3 (30:36):
I'm excited for you. I don't know much about it
other than what you just described to us.
Speaker 4 (30:41):
But hey, man, if it's uh making some noise at
the Fantastic Fest, I'm sure it's going to be good because.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
Everything else that they're raven about is pretty much what
I'm excited about. So yeah, I'm a good hit coming out.
Speaker 4 (30:52):
Though, Man, I mean this, this list for this year
is getting long because I don't know is this getting
a released this year.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
Or I'm not sure. I might have been looking for distribution.
B show, what do we know about this? There's very little.
We're not going to get any pictures or I think
there's one still of a person who's a victim, but
like was like, but that's all we're getting.
Speaker 5 (31:11):
Yeah, I think it was almost like an Emily blunt
looking woman on all fours, like creeping around an apartment
is the only thing I saw. And it says even
though it premiered at Fantastic Fest September eighteenth, it will
receive a wider theatrical theatrical release in the United States
on January ninth, twenty six.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
Shall shah that opening up the year with this fucking thing.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
There was another big horror movie coming out in January,
I think too. Yeah, I think it was the twenty eight, Yes.
Speaker 1 (31:38):
Twenty eight, twenty eight years Later Bone, which is now
available on Netflix. By the way, we should point that out.
Joe Punches said he watched and said it was a
solid film. B Show, if this is not hokey, you know,
this could be like you know, remember that scene and Nope.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
Where everybody was like, oh that was so uncomfortable.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
We really didn't even see the brutality now, but it
was obviously very cg Unfortunately, now we're talking about this
was made for the brutality of the chimpanzee killing everybody.
Speaker 5 (32:06):
I think so, but also probably heartbreaking too. Oh because
when I when I see that trailer and I see
the little chimp kind of crouched down holding a teddy bear,
This isn't just a rabid chimp. It's almost like Kujo,
where this was somebody's pet, someone's extended family member, and
now it's going berserk. And and on top of that,
(32:27):
it's not just a dog who can jump on people
and claw at him. It's something with like opposable thumbs
and superhuman grip. This is gonna be fucking gonzo as.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
Far as I'm concerned. Yeah, Ryan Keith said, listen, I
have no sympathy. If you have a domestic chimp, you
kind of deserve it. I agree you should not have
a domestic chimp. Yeah, I'm sorry. Only Krusty the Clown.
Mister Peepers is mister Peepers. Mister mister Peepers.
Speaker 5 (32:51):
Ton Stony, Peter Dinklic is Peter Shot.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
Peter Takolz plays the private.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
Hilarious what if that's the reason you can do a
toxic Avenger.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
Dude, would it be funny if we found out that
it was really him and the costume the whole time. Well, listen,
before we go to trailers, we want to point this out.
I don't know how to pronounce their names, but the
brothers who directed both talk to me and Bring Her Back,
which I still think is the horror movie of the
year for me, Bring Her Back. They are huge. Day
started out on Australia and New Zealand. I think New Zealand,
(33:21):
excuse me, as a death match Officionado's one of them
just had a fucking death match and did a hillacious
spot that was all over the internet. That caused a
little controversy between some people in the wrestling industry. But
the spot was like a scaffold into glass spot. But again,
these are these guys are huge fans. If you haven't
(33:43):
seen it, we'll just play it here real quick for you.
And uh, it's a very quick what is it? We
don't need the audio b show. It's just like, let's
see so this was in Mexico. Wow, Joey Janella.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
Oh my god, I think we need to put things
in perspective real quick. This is not a wrestler, yeah,
this is the movie.
Speaker 4 (34:06):
Yeah, and this is one of the craziest bumps that
most wrestlers wouldn't take. Like, this is a fucking crazy
ass bump.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
Dude.
Speaker 4 (34:13):
That's a pane of glass. Going on to what you
were seeing right there is spiderwebs made out of fucking
barbed wire.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
And it was an explosive death match, so they had
explosives on the outside and this this was done for
that a twenty four documentary.
Speaker 1 (34:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (34:27):
So yeah, as you can see all the cameras and
they're in a junkyard. Those are all stacked cars.
Speaker 4 (34:32):
Do you see this is in Mexico, right, Yeah, Mexico
Zona twenty three. I actually did their T shirt this
company right here.
Speaker 1 (34:39):
Do we know who the other person is in the match?
Speaker 3 (34:41):
Yeah, it's a Clope. Yeah, from GC to.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
Psychotic death match guy.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
I mean, listen whatever the guy likes to him though, man,
we got oh yeah, of course, I mean I like
this movie, but b sure, I mean, like again, you know,
this guy is a death match guy.
Speaker 2 (34:55):
This is their thing.
Speaker 1 (34:56):
They're they're taking their their fame from making mainstream film
into doing a death Match documentary. I mean, it's just,
you know, I don't really have an issue with it.
Speaker 5 (35:04):
I mean I kind of get the gimmick of it.
If you're involved in that world, you're immersed in it,
and you're making the documentary about it, and you're a fan,
you're probably gonna want to do that. My initial reaction
was like, you guys are making movies, now, why the
fuck would you be taking a bump off? Very caled,
you know what I mean. But he's very lucky like,
and especially if you think about like the way you
saw him bounce and then like the barboarre almost got
(35:26):
caught on his head, Like yeah, dad, it's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (35:29):
That's so dumb.
Speaker 5 (35:30):
I don't get it. I know it's not for me,
but I mean these guys are making their mark and
they're making movies, so more power to them.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
Yeah. Well, you know, like shot pointing out, he's not
a wrestler, but they are death match Officialonados. This isn't
something he just woke up and said, Oh, I think
altimate death match, like you know what I mean, He's
not like yeah, yeah, that's what I'm saying. S Like
to me, it's like, oh, well, he has credentials kind
of from being a fan and always talking about it,
and that's how they got their start according to you, right.
Speaker 4 (35:57):
Yeah, absolutely, they used to do like death match like
back or stunts to themselves.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
That does not by any mean Oh yeah, that doesn't
prepare trained at all. And again, to put things in perspective,
death match wrestlers would not take that bump of course.
Speaker 4 (36:13):
So that's why I'm saying it's fucking I give this
guy a whole lot of respect for going because that's
a crazy, fucking.
Speaker 1 (36:19):
Bump, insane spot. And look, it caused a lot of
controversy on the internet.
Speaker 3 (36:23):
We did it for the documentary.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
He did it for a ye, he wasn't doing it
for a hot dog and a handshake.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
I think it wasn't.
Speaker 3 (36:28):
It wasn't like he did it as as like you know,
this is like a.
Speaker 1 (36:31):
Moment to break it.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
Yeah, that wasn't. It was for the movie, which I almost.
Speaker 5 (36:36):
I almost admire that more because he's not doing it
to be a mark like a lot of guys. He's
just doing it for the movie for the nothing.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
I'm sure he's it.
Speaker 4 (36:43):
I'm sure like he's marking out for doing it, but
like he's doing it for the movie.
Speaker 3 (36:47):
He's not doing it to like just rest in front
of well in the junkyard in Mexico for Noal.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
I'm sure we will watch the documentary when it comes out.
I'm almost positively will. But we have a bunch of
very cool fucking trailers want to get to uh And
we're going to start with this Netflix trailer about a
court case that I stumbled into kind of accidentally. And
many people may have heard of this court case before. Now.
I'm not going to bury the lead here, but we're
(37:13):
just going to watch the trailer. It's called Perfect Neighbor,
and it's coming to Netflix. It is a true court
I guess it's a true crime documentary series or documentary.
I don't think it's a series, but it's coming to Netflix,
who has been putting on some pretty good ship lately.
Speaker 5 (37:30):
Sorry to find it.
Speaker 2 (37:31):
Oh it's okay, Sha, you have not seen.
Speaker 3 (37:32):
This, right, I have not. I don't have Netflix, so.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
Okay, well you might get it for this. And this,
by the way, one Sundance Directing Award. Clearly this is
oh shit. Yeah, so maybe you might want to check
this out. I didn't know it won Sundance.
Speaker 5 (37:49):
Oh shit.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
I went on, was Dad just on the emergency the
Favors Children Office for any of you guys over here
and Real nine one one, and it's real time, so
we're gonna see the story in real time.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
Which is screaming around.
Speaker 5 (38:12):
Sometimes we rally against modern technology, but it gives us nugets.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
They can't walk even so.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
These are police cameras that were watching the address.
Speaker 5 (38:22):
These are the Real nine one Yeah, bondy cams, dash cams,
ring cameras, all kind of stitched together.
Speaker 3 (38:31):
Like the keys were trying to do. You even know
how to drive?
Speaker 1 (38:39):
Always walking? There doesn't need to be a pulpers every
time it gets playing.
Speaker 2 (38:43):
In the yard.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
She's this is sort of the advent of Karen culture
and a.
Speaker 3 (38:47):
Lot of ads.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
Called uhh uh, what did Karen do?
Speaker 2 (38:58):
Another n on one calls out shine.
Speaker 1 (39:05):
If they Karen lost that guy?
Speaker 6 (39:07):
And then.
Speaker 2 (39:13):
Here the ambulance.
Speaker 5 (39:18):
Seeing the people waving them in.
Speaker 1 (39:19):
That's yeah, this is Florida.
Speaker 5 (39:24):
I feel like it, like it has to be.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
It has to look at all the whoa wow, perfect neighbor, Wow,
what is it? Guys?
Speaker 2 (39:38):
This comes out show, This comes out in two weeks.
Speaker 5 (39:40):
Man.
Speaker 4 (39:42):
Ironically enough, recently I've been really getting into true crime.
Speaker 1 (39:46):
Yeah, me too, So I.
Speaker 3 (39:48):
Watch it on YouTube a lot. I watch a lot
of them.
Speaker 1 (39:51):
That's what I'm watching. Yeah, I just kind of got
addicted to that recently.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
Ye know.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
It's it's like some of the best content out there.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
It's fantastic. It's better than I got.
Speaker 4 (39:59):
Into it because this they found a they found to
be heading in a basement, and then I fell into
that algorithm and now before I knew it, YouTube's recommending
you for all the five thousand different cases. So I'm
super into that genre. Actually, so this this is kind
of right up my alley.
Speaker 1 (40:16):
Reb Netflix, Man, you want to check it out. Won
all these awards. Dude, when Sundance directing an award, that's
a big fucking award. Bro Oh, Fuzzy Bears joining us.
B Sure, I know you'll be watching this.
Speaker 5 (40:27):
Oh yeah, I mean and yes, Oh calla Florida so big,
big surprise.
Speaker 1 (40:31):
Yeah, I know the chat I got you checked that
it was Florida for sure. You can just tell, first
of all, if you've if you've gone to anyone's home
in Florida, they all look exactly like that, unless you're
rich or you live like like that. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (40:43):
What's interesting is like two questions. One, we had people
in our neighborhoods that were like this just not this psychotic,
which leads me to believe, in wonder, how many other
of these Karens are out there, A lot that would
go that psycho in this to be arrested and perpetrate crimes.
It's like we joked around.
Speaker 2 (41:04):
A horrible crime just to keep kids away from your yard.
Speaker 5 (41:07):
It's like, there's a clip I put up like four
years ago when we were doing Break the Apocalypcause. It
was Karen's mysteries about like Karen's assaulting kids selling water
on the corner and shit.
Speaker 2 (41:16):
Oh yeah, yeah, calling kids on lemonade stands.
Speaker 5 (41:18):
But this has become a thing now. It's we predicted
this five years ago.
Speaker 1 (41:21):
It's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (41:22):
Well, I don't know. This story is from a few
years ago.
Speaker 1 (41:25):
I would not recommend doing a deep dive because it'll
ruin the story for you. But we'll be we'll probably
be talking about it in.
Speaker 2 (41:31):
A couple of weeks.
Speaker 1 (41:33):
But a big trailer that came out this week highly
anticipated Maggie Gillenhall's interpretation of the Bride of Frankenstein, called
The Bride now shah. This star is Jesse Buckley from
I believe from Her from the Garland movie.
Speaker 2 (41:54):
Him, not Him, I called it him. That's the new
movie Men.
Speaker 1 (41:59):
Yeah, that's the girl from Men. She's the bride of Frankenstein.
Christian Bale as Frankensteining. Jake Jillen Hall is in the movie.
This is a very strange trailer. A lot of people
took a big ship on it. We're gonna watch it now. Uh,
it's Maggie Jillen Halls the Bride. I think it's coming
out early next year or maybe even very artsy.
Speaker 5 (42:24):
I love that laugh. Warner Brothers huh okay, which is
surprising because doesn't universally own these.
Speaker 1 (42:35):
Yeah. Maybe because they're calling it the Bride by the Accident.
Speaker 7 (42:42):
It wasn't in the accident. Oh boy, everything we did
they did it on purpose.
Speaker 6 (42:54):
I like the shot with all those wires, the old
ass bulbs, and I.
Speaker 1 (43:04):
Just love that Christian Bale is right, I have to
do now.
Speaker 5 (43:10):
Wow, he looks like the one for a Telly Brother
from the Cookies.
Speaker 1 (43:24):
So I think they did this in the nineteen twenties.
It's an interesting time to do it. I like these visuals,
big man, you don't want to play? Oh you don't
want to beat the Frankistan.
Speaker 5 (43:41):
Frankie.
Speaker 3 (43:42):
Oh yeah, jesus, I don't those bod.
Speaker 1 (43:51):
This looks like a bas Leerman movie. Actually, these visuals. Wow,
you know it's gonna be edgy because they put a
curse word in the trailer. That's how that works. What's
my name?
Speaker 2 (44:09):
She looks like Gwyndeth Paltrow, doesn't she?
Speaker 1 (44:10):
Guy yet?
Speaker 5 (44:11):
Very much so.
Speaker 2 (44:18):
Monstrous?
Speaker 1 (44:21):
Oh they have Peter Scar's guard a Nett Benning March six. Okay,
it doesn't come out till next year. Shot very artsy.
I didn't know it was gonna be this artsy. I
thought it would be more classical. But I like the visuals.
I just like the the the artsiness of it.
Speaker 3 (44:37):
Yeah, and usually I love experimental art house films when
it comes to this, though, I don't know how I
feel about this bro because more of a traditional like.
Speaker 1 (44:49):
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I thought it would be
like no sau.
Speaker 3 (44:52):
And that's kind of what I wanted. I'm not sure
about this man. They're like out in their Frankenstein clubbing, like, well.
Speaker 2 (44:58):
What's the nineteen twenties?
Speaker 3 (44:59):
I so I don't know if he's like fighting people
outside of bars and ship I'm like, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (45:05):
That's oh yeah, maybe they went on a date. Maybe
they went out to a nice, nice meal.
Speaker 3 (45:08):
Right, But I want I want Frankenstein to be Frankenstein.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
What did you think of Frankenstein?
Speaker 1 (45:13):
Though? I think he looks okay, I just looks okay.
Speaker 3 (45:15):
I'm not a big fan of it.
Speaker 4 (45:17):
I I wish they got somebody that was bigger.
Speaker 3 (45:20):
You know, he looks too like norm.
Speaker 1 (45:22):
I guess he's not Frankenstein enough.
Speaker 3 (45:25):
Yeah, he's not Frankenstein enough. He's not threatening enough.
Speaker 1 (45:28):
Okay, be sure.
Speaker 3 (45:29):
Okay, though, like I'm not, I'm not, I'm not.
Speaker 1 (45:32):
I'm curious about it. That's my like, you know what
I mean.
Speaker 5 (45:36):
He honestly looked like Robert Dove. That's the name I
was looking for. Like thing that bothers me with the
starry face. Yeah yeah, but like, okay, I'm either gonna
love this movie or hate it. And I have a
feeling i'm gonna hate it. I And here's the strange thing.
I'm with you, guys. I like the visuals. I like
this style, just not for a Frankenstein movie, you know,
what I mean, like if it was if it was
(45:57):
like a twenty speakeasy gangster movie almost like.
Speaker 2 (46:00):
Yeah, it's like Bonnie and Clyde.
Speaker 1 (46:01):
I mean, that's like they could.
Speaker 5 (46:03):
Have just been frank get in here, frank A, we
got to dig up the body? You say like that
to me, I don't. That doesn't appeal to me.
Speaker 3 (46:09):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (46:10):
Yeah, I like her a lot though.
Speaker 1 (46:12):
Shots she's a great actress, so I feel like she's
got a good vehicle for her.
Speaker 3 (46:16):
You know, who's who's directing this.
Speaker 1 (46:17):
Do you remember Maggie Jillanall? Okay, yeah, Maggie Jillan All.
This is not her first film.
Speaker 3 (46:23):
She's done some artists on the second movie.
Speaker 1 (46:25):
Yeah, she did another. Yeah, she did a previous love
she did a small movie. You know.
Speaker 3 (46:29):
But you know, I think they're doing the regular Frankenstein, Like, yeah.
Speaker 1 (46:33):
That comes out, that comes out of Christmas time, the
regularly You're completely different. Yeah. I think they picked that
time period for the clothes in the noir, you know,
which I respect that, like the like the chandelier and
the Tommy guns and the clothes. You know.
Speaker 4 (46:50):
Yeah, I just I feel like it was too crowded,
like there was just too much chaos going on. I'm
used to Frankenstein just being kind of like a little
bit more subtle.
Speaker 3 (46:59):
I guess that could be for.
Speaker 1 (47:01):
The purpose of the trailer, though we don't know that's true. Right.
How many times have we seen the trailer and be like, oh,
this isn't what the movie's like.
Speaker 2 (47:08):
Yeah, be sure, Like I'm optimistic. I didn't love it.
Speaker 1 (47:11):
I didn't hate it, but people fucking really didn't like it.
Like people were really angry about it. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (47:17):
So take the trekky nature of like Friday the thirteenth
and Halloween purists, but then multiply that by like three
or four. Because this is Frankenstein. It's literature. It's a
movie that's almost one hundred years old now, like, yeah,
people expect a certain thing. It reminds me how Dracula
two thousand got shillacked when it came out because it
wasn't like a traditional vampire or Dracula movie.
Speaker 2 (47:39):
Yeah, exactly, it was more like an action movie.
Speaker 5 (47:41):
Yeah, so I get it. I really want to like
this because I love Frankenstein, but it gives me the
vibes of like when the Joker was like a heroin
Chic tatted up Gangster in the new uh the movie.
Speaker 1 (47:56):
Yeah, that's a great analogy. But do we think the music,
the techno music, maybe put this at a different pace.
If they use like a classical dark orchestra, don't you
think the three of us would be like, Wow, this
looks really interesting.
Speaker 3 (48:08):
Well, the musical choices is.
Speaker 1 (48:11):
Specific.
Speaker 3 (48:12):
It's off putting to say the least. But it's also
European of everything. Even though I like the way it looks,
it doesn't fit what I expect from Frankenstein, you know
what I mean.
Speaker 2 (48:23):
Yeah, No, it's not what we thought.
Speaker 5 (48:24):
Yeah, Like I expect a gothic type of flair for Frankenstein.
Speaker 1 (48:28):
I thought it would be like those fatu I thought
she was making Brad frank Stein.
Speaker 3 (48:31):
But I want to Castle. I want him fucking alone
with the doctor.
Speaker 1 (48:35):
That's what I want, Beaker, I want the lightning bolts.
I want the lightning bolts in the neck, the bolts
in the neck.
Speaker 5 (48:40):
And if you're gonna do modern go like modern tech.
We're in the the advance of technology. Blah blah blah.
I don't get the twenties. I don't get that.
Speaker 1 (48:48):
Well that might be you know what we'll see. It
could be a completely different universe. It could be a
fucking dystopian world. I don't fucking know, but we want
to move on with the trailers. Now. Many years ago,
when I was a young man, there was a very
movie that like people went and saw. It was very controversial.
It was called The Hand that Rocks the Cradle. And
I never thought a million years this movie would get remade,
(49:10):
let alone with Michaeh Monroe, but it did, and it
looks pretty good. I'm probably old enough to remember the
original and how big of a film it was. It's
about a woman who takes on a nanny who then
tries to usurp the role of the wife. But Micah
Monroe is in it and another the broad It was
in the Fucking Thing remake, and she was in the
(49:32):
Huntress and the Margot Robbie movie, the fucking Harley Quinn movie,
The Bad One.
Speaker 2 (49:37):
But this is The Hand that Rocks the Cradle.
Speaker 1 (49:39):
It's a remake from I want to say early nineties,
late early nineties, maybe ninety ninety one. We could always
look that up. But Micah Monroe is the star. This
is a big role.
Speaker 3 (49:50):
Start hiring. Colin Murphy is a nanny and I was
curious about your experience.
Speaker 1 (49:54):
Is there. She's cute, she looks great, she's amazing.
Speaker 6 (49:58):
Really became a part of our family.
Speaker 1 (50:07):
Wow, she looks great.
Speaker 3 (50:10):
I didn't even know that was her.
Speaker 1 (50:11):
Yeah, it's her. Do you know who the other woman is? Too?
But she's blonde and you just don't recognize her. Uh wow,
starts to go crazy.
Speaker 5 (50:20):
She's starting to have like Hillary dun.
Speaker 2 (50:24):
You can recognize her show? Do you recognize her?
Speaker 1 (50:29):
Let's go to Hulu. I didn't know that.
Speaker 8 (50:32):
Wow, what do you know about her besides what she's
told you?
Speaker 3 (50:36):
Huh uh, you're wearing my dress?
Speaker 5 (50:38):
She great?
Speaker 2 (50:40):
Yeah, oh that's great.
Speaker 3 (50:44):
You don't see what's been happening.
Speaker 1 (50:46):
They go into her room.
Speaker 4 (50:47):
They're in there for hours.
Speaker 5 (50:51):
This is a long term Okay.
Speaker 3 (50:53):
Is there's something wrong with my mom? She's said, doesn't
like yourself.
Speaker 2 (51:01):
This is a big role of the microman rons.
Speaker 3 (51:04):
You're mos pretending to be someone else.
Speaker 1 (51:06):
Oh boy, that's Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Guys blond hair? Is it? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (51:16):
I know you don't recognize her.
Speaker 5 (51:17):
No, I don't see her in the I wanted to
make them look alike. I.
Speaker 1 (51:22):
Oh, it's coming out soon. I know you're their friend.
Speaker 3 (51:26):
But this feels like my house.
Speaker 1 (51:28):
Now omergency emergency. Wow, you're my favorite. I'm going with
her what I want? It's bird rotting out.
Speaker 3 (51:46):
Oh here he comes to be.
Speaker 4 (51:48):
You think if you try hard enough, you can stop
bad things from happening.
Speaker 3 (51:57):
But you can't.
Speaker 5 (52:01):
Whoa damn.
Speaker 1 (52:05):
Wow. Yeah that's Mary Mary Elizabeth Winsteady show.
Speaker 5 (52:10):
I don't see her, so go ahead, go ahead.
Speaker 2 (52:12):
I've never seen her with anything but jet black hair.
Speaker 5 (52:15):
I know, and I was looking for in the credits
about it, don't.
Speaker 1 (52:18):
I don't see pull her up, pull up, pull up?
Speaker 2 (52:20):
The original shot? Have you ever heard of the original?
It was a very big movie.
Speaker 1 (52:23):
And it's time I have not known.
Speaker 5 (52:25):
Oh, let me go back.
Speaker 2 (52:26):
Yeah, my dude shot Michael Monroe looks great.
Speaker 3 (52:31):
She does.
Speaker 1 (52:31):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (52:31):
I don't know how I feel about this man. It
looks good like it looks good as far as a thriller.
I don't have any complaints or anything. It's just not
something particularly excited to watch.
Speaker 3 (52:44):
I don't know. I probably will watch it, though, because
it does seem like like it would be a good movie.
It's just thrillers aren't necessarily my go to unless it's
a strange Darling obviously. Yeah, oh yeah, she looks completely
different in that did.
Speaker 1 (52:55):
Yeah, dude, she's been in everything, She's in everything. She's
B show.
Speaker 5 (53:00):
She looks completely different, and I didn't.
Speaker 3 (53:03):
Wasn't he in a comedy? What is he from?
Speaker 5 (53:05):
He was the Stoner Guy in The Stoner Guy and.
Speaker 1 (53:08):
Knocked Up, Knocked Out? He's in a lot of movies.
He's in a lot of those Stone O'Connor roll. He
always plays the friends. He's even in the Spider Man
reboots B Show. Can we see who directed it? She looked.
This is a huge thing for Mica Monroe. I mean,
this is how she's pivoting. I think out of the
success of Long Legs.
Speaker 5 (53:25):
B Show, which, Yeah, this seems a little bit more
of a safety, mainstreamy type of movie.
Speaker 1 (53:31):
Yeah, it doesn't.
Speaker 5 (53:32):
Look like it's gonna be I want to say streaming.
Speaker 2 (53:36):
Guys, it's going right to streaming.
Speaker 5 (53:37):
So it's not Michelle Garza Cervera.
Speaker 1 (53:40):
I'm curious who the director is, if she's done anything,
What is she done?
Speaker 2 (53:45):
No?
Speaker 1 (53:45):
Not really?
Speaker 5 (53:46):
Isaceles Clara's Rage the Original?
Speaker 1 (53:48):
Can you put up?
Speaker 2 (53:49):
B shall put up the original? Just hand the rocks,
The Cradle of Arigin.
Speaker 1 (53:51):
I want you guys to see who was in the original,
because it was a huge movie, Like everyone went and
saw this movie. The original, Yeah Hudson, Okay, Oh, Julian Eckler, Yeah,
Annabella Sciora is the mother and Rebecca de Morney was
the nanny. But Julianne Moore is in it. Ernie Hudson.
(54:12):
This was a tremendous guys. This was what year is
the specio of ninety four ninety two. This was a
huge film, Like, this was a movie everyone saw.
Speaker 3 (54:22):
I've honestly never even heard of this.
Speaker 1 (54:24):
The original's great. It's a baby in the original, so
it's so much creepier.
Speaker 3 (54:29):
I always get a Jody Foster and Julianne Moore.
Speaker 5 (54:31):
Mixed because of the sound of the Lambs movie.
Speaker 1 (54:34):
Yeah, Don Stony brings up Martin Starr was from Silicon Valley.
Speaker 3 (54:37):
It was a great agent and also Panic in Tulsa King.
Jody Foster is in panic room, right.
Speaker 2 (54:42):
Yeah, Jody Foster's in Panic Room.
Speaker 3 (54:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (54:44):
Yeah, I'm gonna check this out. They got a lot
of buzz, A lot of people in the chatter are
excited to watch this. It looks like a fun Halloween
watch guys.
Speaker 5 (54:50):
Yeah, and it's one of those, Like I was gonna say,
I don't think it's normally up our alley because we
liked some stuff that's more intense. Yeah, we like cult stuff.
We like something with a little bit more mea on
the bone. But this doesn't look bad. It looks creepy.
The performances are probably gonna be good. Mike Monroel, I'm
a huge fan of.
Speaker 1 (55:06):
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like, she's great, she looks
this is the she looks. She looks like she's she
looks like she's gonna be hit a home run with this.
Speaker 2 (55:15):
RAMS fans asking if we saw the nineteen seventeen version.
Speaker 1 (55:17):
I have not. I'm not that old, RAMS fan. I'm
not that old. But we got a couple more trailers
we want to check out. One of them is a
Bigfoot there's another Bigfoot movie. I can't believe, shah, how
many the last ten years. It seems like Bigfoot movies
are like a thing.
Speaker 3 (55:39):
Well, Bigfoot is getting out there again. Man, it's just
with Ai. There's so much footage coming out.
Speaker 4 (55:45):
I swear to you, man, I've seen probably like twenty
different Bigfoot clips and new alien clips that look legitimate.
Speaker 3 (55:50):
Is just like it's probably ai right, So I don't know, man.
Speaker 4 (55:56):
I've only seen two bigfoot movies that I've enjoyed, so
I'm do for some.
Speaker 1 (56:00):
One of them is Boggy Creek and the other one.
Speaker 3 (56:02):
Yeah, Bobbie Creek.
Speaker 4 (56:03):
And then the one exists, the one with the blair
Witch guys exists.
Speaker 1 (56:08):
Yeah, the blair Witch guys. But Bobcat gold Weight one
is good too, by the way, it's fucking excellent. It's
probably better than exists, but both very good. And this
is called the Last Footprint, and we're gonna check it
out now. It followed me home, whatever it is, it's here.
(56:29):
I love bigfoot movies for letting hums do this, Earl.
Speaker 3 (56:33):
I know this isn't easy to talk about. Caleb didn't disappear,
he was taken.
Speaker 1 (56:40):
Something was out there that looks like Nick Offerman said,
it was big a.
Speaker 2 (56:44):
Little bit and if you're smart, you'll stop looking for him,
Harry and that.
Speaker 5 (56:53):
This looks a little low budge.
Speaker 1 (56:54):
But I'm sure, how could you have a high end
bigfoot movie that they don't exist, Dude, They're all low budgets,
even the good ones.
Speaker 5 (57:05):
Not that guy belongs in That looks like Adam Sandler,
But isn't.
Speaker 1 (57:11):
Adam Sandler page I should Why don't they ever ask
me to be in any of these movies?
Speaker 5 (57:16):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (57:16):
Ship?
Speaker 5 (57:17):
You see that in there?
Speaker 1 (57:18):
Yeah? That was that looks cool.
Speaker 2 (57:21):
Like that?
Speaker 1 (57:24):
So this looks at the hybrid found footage, low budget.
Oh that sound hopefully the go me definitely what I
was talking about. I'd like to see a little.
Speaker 5 (57:44):
Bit more of the big fo I don't know, damn
rams fans got a bigger feet than I do.
Speaker 3 (57:47):
If we go missing none of this was my idea.
Speaker 1 (57:56):
Oh I like that? Yeah, okay, saw the acting looks
like like like eighties porn. But I like the noises
and I like the uh. I like, I'm curious to
see what Bigfoot looks like.
Speaker 4 (58:08):
Well, we got a smoke, you know, quick little teaser
of what he looks like. It's definitely a dude in
the suit, which I kind of I kind of like
that because I mean those eighties movies that were all
the Bigfoot movies with Boggy Creek and uh, the.
Speaker 3 (58:21):
Night of the Demon. Have you ever seen Nine of
the Demon?
Speaker 2 (58:23):
Maybe?
Speaker 3 (58:24):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (58:24):
All those were just like fucking basically wrestlers and uh
Champanne suits.
Speaker 1 (58:28):
So I don't know.
Speaker 4 (58:29):
I'd check it out, man, I mean, it's not something
I'm like chasing after since we didn't really get much.
Speaker 3 (58:34):
Of a trailer other than some uh you know, quick
little still shots of what it looks like.
Speaker 4 (58:38):
But hopefully it's gory though, Like, well, these movies gotta
you know, kind of make up for it because exists
started out very slow, dude, like I was fu, picks up,
it picks up, but I was dying for an hour
and fifteen minutes. I'm like, please, for the love of God, like,
give me something to hold on to.
Speaker 3 (58:54):
But yeah, it did well. But y'all check it out, man.
I know you're excited for this though.
Speaker 1 (58:58):
You're a bigfoot guy, yeah, b sure you like bigfoot too.
I love bigfoot.
Speaker 5 (59:02):
I told the chatroom. They said, they're glad that you
carried on Kevin's tradition of bigfoot love, and I said,
we're very bigfoot friendly.
Speaker 2 (59:08):
We're super bigfoot friendly here. We're a big for friendly.
Speaker 1 (59:10):
Show for sure. Absolutely.
Speaker 5 (59:12):
But bigfoot positive is that?
Speaker 1 (59:14):
Yeah, we're bigfoot Yeah, we're big foot positive. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (59:18):
No, I think look, it's the creature is gonna look bad.
I hope at least the gore looks good, Like I
want to see big Foot likes rip someone apart with
the bare hands.
Speaker 1 (59:26):
And I'd like to see some tearing that some waffle stomping.
Speaker 5 (59:29):
Imagine you like twenty four inch.
Speaker 1 (59:32):
I just like the noises because they don't like they
like like.
Speaker 2 (59:36):
You know, it's just fucking nasty. It's like a nastiness
to it, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (59:39):
Shot, Yeah, the Bigfoot kind of looked like the creature
from Where the Wild Things Live?
Speaker 3 (59:44):
Have you guys ever sad?
Speaker 1 (59:44):
Oh? I love that.
Speaker 2 (59:45):
Yeah, I love Where the Wild Things.
Speaker 3 (59:46):
Kind of looks like that. It didn't really look like
a like a gorilla suit.
Speaker 4 (59:50):
It looks like, you know, somebody cause playing one of
those creatures from that movie.
Speaker 1 (59:54):
Yeah, I'm sure it'll be like streaming on I'm sure
it'll be on two B. It's going to B. Don't
even catch yourself.
Speaker 5 (01:00:02):
Is it gonna which is it's gonna be to be?
Speaker 1 (01:00:05):
I think to B will make a big deal out
of it and we will all watch it. But we
got a couple more trailers before we head out. One
of them is a movie we did a teaser for that.
It just screened that fantastic fest and destroyed. People are
drooling over Shelby Oaks. They flesh out the story a
little bit more in this trailer. We're gonna check it
(01:00:26):
out now. This is coming out I think before the
end of the year. I hope this looks like this
could be a bang. A must be on a list banger,
because I have seen I don't watch TikTok, but I'm
getting inundated with TikTok's about this fucking movie. This is
just a little They give us a little bit more
of Shelby Oaks. It's a little teaser. It's coming out soon, guys.
Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
October comes out in a month. Yeah, this is all different.
Speaker 1 (01:00:55):
Shit, you my sister's not dead.
Speaker 3 (01:01:03):
It should be a really.
Speaker 1 (01:01:14):
So show. This is another Neon, you know. Neon's having
a pretty good run here.
Speaker 4 (01:01:20):
Yeah, I'm this is probably the movie I'm the most
excited about, just because again I've been following that director
on YouTube.
Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
For like, yeah, you talked twelve years.
Speaker 4 (01:01:30):
So I've known about this movie four years ago, five
years ago when he started funding it.
Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
So I've been looking forward to this forever. Interesting thing
is Chris Stuckman.
Speaker 4 (01:01:41):
He used to be a Mormon, right. Wow, so he's
very much against cults. He did like a whole hour
hour and a half about how he doesn't speak to
his family.
Speaker 3 (01:01:50):
They disowned him once he left the religion, so he
actually lost contact with his sister for twelve years. So
a lot of this movie, oh, this is direct correlation
his personal Wow.
Speaker 4 (01:02:04):
And I heard an interview with him and he said
he it wasn't intentional. He was like, somebody actually mentioned
that to me, and I realized that I subconsciously inserted that.
Speaker 3 (01:02:14):
Into the movie because it's such a big part of
my life. But it wasn't intentional. It just happened.
Speaker 1 (01:02:19):
Holy shit.
Speaker 3 (01:02:20):
Bo, that's that's a really interesting little tidbit for you.
But yeah, this looks I mean again, we didn't get
much out of it. Yeah, Neon trailers for thirty seconds.
Speaker 4 (01:02:29):
It's gonna tell you anything. Yeah, but I've heard nothing
but amazing. Like people are like, yo, this is the
new voice of horror. This is his fucking direct debut.
Like he's fucking already.
Speaker 3 (01:02:39):
Killing it and he's a big horror fan man, Like
this is a horror guy.
Speaker 1 (01:02:42):
Well this could be the kickoff shot for his career.
I mean I think visually this looks fantastic. Bum Sorry,
share what we gonna say.
Speaker 3 (01:02:50):
No, I was just agreeing with you.
Speaker 5 (01:02:52):
Yeah, No, I mean I I love when people come
up from the grassroots to do something really cool and
it looks good because I think, I think we want
to root for the little guy, but sometimes when it's
small budget or whatever, it doesn't really look lan great
and you want to give him some grace. But luckily
we don't have to do that with this. It's a
cool concept personal to him, so you know that even
(01:03:13):
if it doesn't have a big budget and a big
wide open, you know, uh, I think it will have
a talent pool. I'm just saying talent pool and stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:03:21):
Like that like box Office.
Speaker 5 (01:03:23):
It is so personal to him that you know, he
just put everything he had into it. So I'm I'm
excited for this man.
Speaker 1 (01:03:28):
Yeah, this is this is a must watch. And by
the way, shot this coming out the week of Halloween
sounds like a banger of an idea.
Speaker 3 (01:03:34):
Yeah, see, this is one. I will go to the
movie theater.
Speaker 4 (01:03:38):
I have to because I want to support that guy,
man like I want to support people that, you know,
the underdogs essentially, because again I've seen his career come
up from him making home fucking movies on to this.
Speaker 3 (01:03:49):
So and I love Neons. I want to support.
Speaker 1 (01:03:51):
Yeah, Neon's having a good run for sure. Anyway, before
we head out, I've wanted to play this trailer because
we talked about DiCaprio, but you know, taking DiCaprio and
some of these other names out of it. Daniel day Lewis,
who retired from acting sort of famously after just eating
up the Academy Award like he smelled fart, says an
(01:04:11):
Academy Award waiting for him. Many say he's the greatest
living actor alive. Like many many people have said this,
he decided to come out of retirement for a film
that his son is the director of. It's an art
house movie. I don't know much about it. It's called
Anomi Anomi, an Enemy, an Enemy. I want to we
(01:04:32):
wanted to just check out the trailer because it's fucking
Daniel day Lewis. Okay, So if Daniel day Lewis is
in something, we're going to talk about it. And we
have not seen him in many years. Anyway, We're going
to check out the trailer for his His son is
the director of this film. Oh, Sean Bean's in it too.
I didn't know that.
Speaker 7 (01:04:51):
Oh wow, okay, Alle, that looks fantastic.
Speaker 5 (01:04:59):
One a visual the mail stream on the horizon. Damn,
this is my life.
Speaker 1 (01:05:07):
I've seen my ship.
Speaker 3 (01:05:08):
I love souls.
Speaker 5 (01:05:08):
Really, I'm in so far just because of the visuals, you.
Speaker 2 (01:05:11):
Will reach gen.
Speaker 4 (01:05:16):
Wow, you got old guys getting like lighthouse fives from that.
Speaker 8 (01:05:20):
Now, God, those eyes, this is another planet stalk.
Speaker 1 (01:05:31):
It's crazy. I'm more into the visuals. Yeah, it looks
fucking This is like an Irish Oh twenty years.
Speaker 3 (01:05:44):
What did they horror movie?
Speaker 1 (01:05:47):
Yep, but yeah, it's like a Jesus Oh shit, it's
like a ten for long sturgeon in imbedded.
Speaker 2 (01:05:54):
This is some kind of Irish Christ.
Speaker 7 (01:05:58):
We were to fund some soldiers.
Speaker 3 (01:06:00):
Oh boy, Brain never spoke to me about.
Speaker 1 (01:06:03):
Oh shure, she's in this too. She's a great actress too,
to lease tell me what.
Speaker 5 (01:06:11):
She wasn't the one from the Home Invasion movie?
Speaker 1 (01:06:12):
Was she quick? Maybe? What do you want from me? Brother?
Speaker 3 (01:06:21):
What do you want?
Speaker 1 (01:06:44):
Uh? Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:06:47):
You're a going to her old brother family are again?
Speaker 1 (01:06:54):
Oh Jesus Yo, Ronan day Lewis, that's his son, b
show Can you pull what this is, What this is about? Shot?
I don't know what it's about, but I know I
want to watch it.
Speaker 4 (01:07:06):
Yeah, I didn't comprehend anything from it. I don't know
what the fuck it's about.
Speaker 3 (01:07:10):
Love the visuals. I am super fucking into it.
Speaker 1 (01:07:13):
Holy shit.
Speaker 3 (01:07:14):
Immediately it looks ridiculous. This is his son's first movie.
Speaker 1 (01:07:17):
Yeah, so's like twenty something or old guy. I think
he's like twenty five or something like that.
Speaker 3 (01:07:22):
Again, look how gorgeous films look nowadays.
Speaker 1 (01:07:24):
Look how beautifully it's shot.
Speaker 3 (01:07:25):
Like we're talking about me.
Speaker 1 (01:07:27):
The greatest living actor, and all we're talking about, not
that he did anything wrong on the trailer, the surrounding
set pieces, the real moving pieces. You know what I'm saying, Like,
what the fuck?
Speaker 3 (01:07:39):
Well, it's it's mainly people's capabilities are through the roof.
Now they have access to the greatest cameras. Like everybody
can do this now, not everybody.
Speaker 1 (01:07:48):
But you know what I mean, Like, but can they
do it with Lewis?
Speaker 3 (01:07:51):
No, No, they can't. He has that connection obviously.
Speaker 4 (01:07:53):
But I just love seeing, you know, smaller filmmakers, you know,
making their debut being able to do this and kind
of really show their talent versus having a start out
on making fucking you know eight bit you know, VHS
tapes and shit like that.
Speaker 3 (01:08:09):
So this looks great though it's kind of surreal too.
I don't know if there's like, yeah, it might.
Speaker 2 (01:08:15):
Be a supernatural element to it.
Speaker 1 (01:08:17):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:08:19):
Look, I'm gonna take a step back. I I understand, yes,
young creators and upstart have a great opportunity with the technology,
but let's not ignore the fact that the director is
fucking Daniel day Lewis's son. So it's not the same
as like, hey, Sean got a grant for the University
of Pittsburgh and he's got some equipment. He's gonna go
shoot something. So I will say that now.
Speaker 4 (01:08:40):
No, I was mainly saying it because of Stuttman two,
since we're just talking about him making his debut. It's like,
you see all these people making their debuts and the
first film already looks this great, And it's mainly because
of the cameras they have, right, it doesn't look like and.
Speaker 5 (01:08:54):
The color grading technology and stuff like that.
Speaker 4 (01:08:56):
These wide shots that you're seeing, anybody can pretty much
do them now because drone beforehand, you really have to
have a budget to do this, Like now you just
fla the shot.
Speaker 1 (01:09:04):
You also got to have the foresight to get that
shot like you got, like you know, like you and
I are not getting that shot. We love movies, but
I'm never getting a shot like that in my life.
We might. You don't know, maybe, Bisha, what is it about?
Do we know anything about the plot?
Speaker 5 (01:09:16):
The only thing and that what I was saying that
wasn't to take away from his skill, because I agree
with you. I expected Daniel day Lewis and Sean Being
to steal the trailer and it was the officials. So
I don't want to sound like an asshole and say
pish posh, but it just as a former soldier reunites
with his brother after living in isolation in the woods
of northern England for twenty years.
Speaker 1 (01:09:37):
Oh boy, so I think they committed some war.
Speaker 5 (01:09:40):
Crimes long buried secrets.
Speaker 1 (01:09:42):
Yeah, and somebody's having a little bit of a breaky
breakdown shot.
Speaker 3 (01:09:49):
And when is this coming out?
Speaker 1 (01:09:50):
October third?
Speaker 2 (01:09:53):
I don't think it's getting a national.
Speaker 4 (01:09:56):
It's not rated yet. That's why I'm asking how is
it coming out October third? It's not even eat it
b show?
Speaker 1 (01:10:01):
Is it rated? Yet because when the trailer dropped two
weeks ago, it might not have been rated.
Speaker 5 (01:10:04):
Now let me see where it's releasing.
Speaker 1 (01:10:07):
They're probably trying to get like a PG thirteen rating,
but it's probably gonna be an heart rated movie.
Speaker 3 (01:10:13):
This.
Speaker 1 (01:10:14):
This looks like this. It looks like they did some
They kept showing like I like my Ira, but I
like Army Ship Radar rated R okay, So it got
a rating and it's rated R. Well, I'm I'm very
curious about this. I would watch Daniel da Lewis far
in a cup for two hours. I don't give a
fuck the guy's I mean, shah, the guy is in
(01:10:35):
a class by himself.
Speaker 2 (01:10:37):
There's nobody even in the league.
Speaker 1 (01:10:38):
With that dude.
Speaker 3 (01:10:39):
Yeah, I pretty much watched that. Dude. Watch two Girls,
one Cup and.
Speaker 1 (01:10:44):
You know shot, there will be blood like Masterpiece right
like this, No and ad in gangs in New York,
I've never seen.
Speaker 2 (01:10:51):
A move overall like like performance.
Speaker 3 (01:10:53):
I've never seen Phantom Thread.
Speaker 1 (01:10:55):
But yeah, I wish I watched it because it's Paul
Thomas Anderson with.
Speaker 4 (01:10:57):
But I mean, those are the three that really kind
of catapulted him to the top as gangs in New York.
Speaker 1 (01:11:02):
Well, yeah, no, in the name of the Father. Also
the Last of the Mohicans, I mean his palette.
Speaker 4 (01:11:08):
Is Yeah, but he had those pretty much back to
back and started, you know, yeah right because it was
gangs in New York.
Speaker 1 (01:11:14):
Then it will and then he was like, yeah, he's
very selective, dude. He doesn't just show up to do ship.
You're not just getting this guy to show up. But
gangs in New York they will, they will be. Blood
is maybe the great one of the greatest film's top
five films of all time. I believe that. I totally
That's just blows my mind every time I look at it.
You know, I haven't seen that was that time you
(01:11:36):
saw that.
Speaker 3 (01:11:36):
Show Ship when I first came out. I haven't seen
it any years.
Speaker 2 (01:11:41):
You see, I've seen gangs in New York like a
hundred times.
Speaker 3 (01:11:43):
I saw gangs in New York last year again to
shake my axe, and she was not having it.
Speaker 1 (01:11:48):
Be sure, you're gangs in New York very much.
Speaker 2 (01:11:50):
So.
Speaker 5 (01:11:50):
I saw it in theaters when it came out, and
I don't think i've I've caught it since.
Speaker 1 (01:11:54):
Well, I'm gonna be trying to check this movie out
because I would like to see. I'm curious what it's about.
The visions are ridiculous, and the woman in that movie
is an Irish actress.
Speaker 2 (01:12:04):
She's a character actress.
Speaker 1 (01:12:05):
She doesn't do that much these days, but she was
nominated for an Academy of what I think in the
early two thousands. She was also from The Walking Dead.
She played the Alpha and the Walking Dead. Oh okay, yeah, yeah,
she's she's a handsome woman, but she's a great actress.
I don't know her name.
Speaker 2 (01:12:20):
I should know her name because she's very talented.
Speaker 1 (01:12:22):
She's Irish. I don't know if Sean I think. I
don't know if showing bean's Irish, but Daniel.
Speaker 5 (01:12:26):
Day lewis either Irish or English.
Speaker 2 (01:12:27):
She's Irish. No, she's one hundred ccent Irish.
Speaker 1 (01:12:30):
Samantha Morton, Samantha Morton, good character actress.
Speaker 2 (01:12:34):
I'm very curious about this movie.
Speaker 1 (01:12:36):
And who knows Sean maybe his son is going to
be like a big deal, you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (01:12:41):
Yeah, we'll see.
Speaker 1 (01:12:43):
