Speaker 1 (00:32):
And we're live, I spitting out the top entertainment stories
of the week. It's August, summers grinding down. It's hot
as balls, but we're here to soothe those balls with
some wonderful entertainment news and trailers and conversation. My name
is John Draper. I'm joined with the Prince of Philadelphia.
His name is Shaheen. Shaheen. Is it like a thousand degrees?

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Honest, it's just human as hell.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Man.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
I went down to the lake earlier and I didn't
I didn't too hot, but I just try to walk
the dog and he was just not having yeah, trying
to put him outside, and he was like, falk that.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Yeah, mine, I can be the face right outside.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
On the grass and I'm walking my my chovy ass
right back.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
And so yeah, it's weird when they give you the
finger when they don't have fingers. B sure, Brian, how
is it in the Great State of All He gives me.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
His asshole usually just as yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Same here, it's like swamp. I feel like swamp thing,
trudging around, sweat dripping off my ass, except I don't
hit Adrian Barbo's giant tits to stare at. That's you
know the one downside.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
She had a man face but but a woman's body.
I was watching to.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Escape from New York a couple days ago and my
wife goes, ugh, oh, she's got a nice tits.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
She's a handsome woman, as they would say Adrian Barbara
and who could forget her and creep show. But listen,
we have all night for that. If you're joining us
for the first time, thanks for checking us out. We're
here each and every Thursday at eight thirty on the
East Coast. But we have a special Patreon It's at
uh patreon dot com. Back slash Spitball Media. You thought
I was gonna say something else five bucks a month shot.

(01:59):
It's in a Phebie affordable premium program package that has
oodles of outstanding exclusive content all across the board.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Yeah, and included is my favorite show is the Q
and A's. We got a ton of them. We did
one recently. I believe it was almost almost two hours.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Well, we split it, we split it.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Yeah, there's tons of exclusive content on there. I mean
we're talking like thousands of hours.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Yeah, a couple of thousand, easily.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Definitely gonna check it out. A couple we'll be doing
on watch along sometime soon for the holiday.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
So yes, we're trying to figure that out. Maybe before
the holiday, maybe the holiday season. B Show Brian, you know,
maybe we should do B show is planned because the
summer is almost wrapping up, and of course we do
have that Q and A out there, but maybe we
should try to plan a holiday watch along.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
That would be fun. Well, what do you mean, like Christmas.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Holiday watch alot.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Yeah, like like we can.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Watch Halloween and a Christmas one.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Man, Yeah, we do. Like Halloween, we do one. We
can do Halloween. We do Silent Night, Deadly Night, the
o G.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
I was gonna say the Christmas one sounds fun because
there's so many that I'm sure a lot of people
listening and haven't heard of promise.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Uh we could even dude, we could like do a
swear tournament, just list.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
I think we should do some underground stuff that like
most people haven't seen, you know, because if we do
Crampis or something like everyone.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Yeah Crampis is a little pedestrian.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Yeah, if we do many lesser known films.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Yeah, lesser known. Of course. You got to go to
that Patreon five bucks a month give yourself a gift.
You've been good all summer. Okay, you haven't had any fentanyl,
at least to your knowledge. Five bucks, knock it out
of the park. You can get in on that August
Q and A and Patreon pals. You got your August
Q and A up right now. We've gotta have another
special episode for you before the end of the month,
and of course, uh you know, make sure you get

(03:37):
your questions in now before we move on to the
content here. We wanted to do something a little special
tonight because there's been so many shows and so many
things happening. It seems like a lot of stuff is
kicked off. But we would be remiss if I didn't
bring this up immediately, because I am the only one
on the panel this weekend that went out and saw
what many people have almost universally said is not only

(04:00):
one of the best, if not the best horror film
of the year, but the best film of the year.
I'm talking about Zach Kreeger's Weapons. Now, if you're not
familiar with Zach Kreeger, if you saw a barbarian and went, oh,
my fucking god, this is brilliant, you are familiar with
Zach Kreeger is his second writer director debut, so to speak,

(04:22):
his follow up to his debut and b show Brian
this motherfucker. This guy is starting to look like a
goddamn genius. And this movie did very well over the
opening weekend. I know.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
We'll talk about Monkey in a minute, because I watched
it this week. About how do you think Zach Kreeger
stacks up against Oz Perkins?

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Oh wow, I would say, compare him more to Ariastor
after you saw Midsommer.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Okay, okay, and Schod.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
The reason why I'm saying that is this is a
two for two. This guy has now banged out to
high level, successful, out of nowhere fucking movies that have
like really changed the tone. Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
I don't know how I feel about Perkins yet, just because,
like I mean, the Monkey, I enjoyed it, but it
wasn't it wasn't anything like Long Legs, you know what
I mean. Like, it wasn't in the same tone at all,
And of course you don't. We'll get into that in
a little bit. But I don't know how I feel
about The Keeper because we don't know much about it yet.
That comes out this year though, right.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Yeah, towards the end of the year and it looks tremendous.
It looks absolutely tremendous.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
But dude, either way, though, shout out to him for
putting out two movies in one year. That's not easy.
I mean, he's got The Monkey and releasing in the
same year. That's that's pretty fucking crazy.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Yeah, but Shah, I do think a fair comparison is
the Ariaster because of the writing and the directing, which,
as we know, is not you know, there's great guys
that direct that didn't write it, and there's guys that
write it and don't direct it. This is now a
guy who is only directing his own shit, much like
you know some of our other favorite people, like yeah,

(05:58):
it comes to mind right, you know, but uh, shot,
what have you heard about weapons? Obviously it's dominating the
fucking landscape right now.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
I mean, the hype is there, man. All I've seen
is is great reviews so far. I'm supposed to see
it next weekend, so hopefully i'll see it next weekend,
but I'm expecting a lot, man, And I don't want
to go into it, you know what I mean, overhype
in it, just because I don't want to set myself
up for failure because that's essentially what happened with Long Legs.
For me, like, I really enjoyed it, but people were saying,
this is like the scariest movies since Silence of the

(06:29):
Lambs and all this crazy shit, and overall, I thought
it was a good movie, but I thought it was,
you know, a little overhyped. So I'm going to go
into it with realistic expectations because you know, a lot
of movies people tend to hype up and I tend
to be let down by it, even like the Substance,
you know what I mean when people when that came out,
people said that was like the best horror movie in
the last twenty years. I love the fucking substance was

(06:53):
what was I don't know, I think it was number
two for me last year.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Yeah, everybody's one or two. It was everybody. It was
like everybody's wonder two.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
But I mean saying it's like the best horror movie
in the last two decades, I mean, come on.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Yeah, b show. Obviously the hype on this is tremendous,
but you know, I don't know, could you pull up
box office because this definitely delivered. It was like a
thirty nine million dollar movie that did close to eighty
I think. Well.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
I pulled up the Rotten Tomatoes. I was surprised to
see that they're still at ninety four percent from eighty
six percent from the audience. Wow, I can work on
box office in a second. But it's interesting that streamer
keeps fucking with my layout. Interesting that to me, Zach
Kreeger seems, at least from these this movie and Barbarian

(07:38):
to be what most people would like M Knight Shyamalan
to be.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
Well.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
M Night Shyamalan will put out a movie the premise,
you think you know what it is, and then all
of a sudden it takes a turn and there's some
surprise or some shit. Half the time it pays off.
Half the time it doesn't. So far, Zach Kraiger's what
two for two?

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Yeah, in a big way, in a very big way.
Like so if you funny makes reviews.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
Yeah, he might be able to be the guy who
does M Night Shamalan better than AT Night Shamalan.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
Well, it's funny you said that because someone in the
chat just brought that up. But bishall, I'm just gonna
rewind a little bit to acknowledge some of our friends
in the chat. I see we have hay Now rich Dal,
we have Joe Punches, he's a big fan of weapons.
And then of course give me one second night. Thanks
you guys for hanging out there. Don Stoney hanging out
with us. He is an attorney, so please address him

(08:28):
as Don Stony Esquire. Our good pal Chris Matthews is
in there. And then of course we have rams Fan
zero eighty six, and I saw somebody else, Josh Richard's
eighty one. What's up Josh uh? And then I did
see Young John in there, but I believe he had
to step out. He just wanted to say hi for
a moment and Dirt Mo dirkin way from the Dungeon TV.

(08:52):
He asked to Hollywood to do a remake of the Warriors.
The Brooklyn person's gonna say, no, no, don't do that,
not now, not ever. Thank you, don't do it. Markey's
hanging out with us. You shout out to him. Slave
of cheeks is there? Who does Young John j ld?
He was just saying he's about to head out to work.
Thank you John for checking in. And then I want

(09:13):
to say somebody had something in there. I think it's God,
where did it go? I'm so sorry, guys. Gary Thorpe,
you had a little message in there my first night
in my home and my newborn still had to tune in. Gary,
Thank you and congratulations as far as that goes. I
didn't want to miss that. And of course Ryan Keith
was mentioning M Night B Show when you were mentioning him,
and of course the Jusifer Yarsifer is there, So shout

(09:35):
out to everybody chilling in the chat. Thank you guys
for hanging out. You know, it's funny he was bringing
up M Night B Show the same time you were
bringing it up.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
And first, thank you, Josh. You're sitting just signed up
for the Patreon, so.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Oh thank you, Josh. Make sure you get a Q
and A in there for August. If not, multiple questions,
you can ask whatever the hell you want.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
Absolutely so we were talking about tonight, Shyamalan. You are correct,
and one thing we've talked about on the show before.
I think we did a deep dive on one episode
maybe a Patreon.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
I think we did too at night.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
His his work is mixed with us, like something like
I like I don't like the village, shot likes the village.
I love that someone didn't mind the Beach movie. One
of us hated the Beach movie. So it's like very
be mixed, That's what I'm saying. So it's very mixed,
and a lot of people are mixed on him too.
It'll be amazing to see if Zach Kraeger can continue
this quality. And I mean people seem to be digging

(10:27):
this stuff. So according to screen Rant Weapons has now
reached accumulative box office goal of one hundred million days,
sixty million at the domestic and forty million internation.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
And it's gonna have a big weekend. It does not
have stiff competition shot this weekend. This movie is gonna
make a lot of money.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Dude, Dude, I did not expect a hundred million, but
I thought it made the ten million. I didn't know
a hundred million. That's that's what Insidious did. Remember how
they were hyping it up saying, and City has just
broke a hundred that's I mean, good for him, man. Yeah, movie, No,
it's a it's a no.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
It's it's lions Gate is the and then it's forty
Countries twentieth Century Fox on the lions Gate.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Okay, I was hoping it was Neon Man, I would
be happy for.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
No, he has a contract with you. So I also
want to remind somebody. Drew brought up a great point.
It's a thirty eight million dollar budget, so this smash.
But guys, if you guys remember when we did a
deep dive on Barbarian because we were like, this came
out of nowhere. We did a deep dive and we
discovered that that was never supposed to go to theaters.
It was sold for like ten million and be shot

(11:32):
at the last minute. They said, ah, we'll just put
it in theaters and see how it does. What was
that Barbarian was never supposed to be right? That's right?

Speaker 4 (11:40):
Yeah, ever, and it's funny how like, I just I
can't get past the fact that the movies are so good.
But there from what I'm hearing, and you guys can
I know John and Drew can correct me if I'm wrong.
How different is this movie from what you expected going in?

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Well, here's the thing. I'm not gonna talk about the movie.
I can't because it's too and I'll tell you why.
It's it's very literal and there's maybe six speaking parts
in the whole fucking movie. I mean, so it's like
you gotta understand it's and it's also non it's a
nonlinear so there's a lot happening in this, you know,
hour and forty five minutes more or less. I would

(12:22):
say it's very different from Barbarian, But I felt the
tone of the fact that this motherfucker knows how to
put a little scare in you out of fucking nowhere
with very little pretense. You know what I'm saying. Shah,
You know, when you're not sure what the plot of
movie is and you're like, I still don't know what's
going on, and then they give you something juicy, You go, yo,

(12:43):
what the fuck was that? Remember, Like Barbarian did that
a little bit.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Actually I went into Barbarian expecting to
hate it. It's because it was partially spoiled for me.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
Like I saw the creature, so I didn't even know
there was a creature in the movie.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Yeah, so I saw it already and I was like, no,
it is what it's about. Like, I'm not really into
this because, to be honest with you, the creature I
thought was kind of if he I wasn't really a
but it worked dude, it worked because of a concept.
I love the concept. I thought the concept was fucking
just grimy and dirty and nasty. Yeah, so that that's
what initially drew me to it. So I'm hoping Weapons

(13:18):
at least has some of those layers. I don't know
if it does. Does it as a.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
Disturbing it does I just want to bring up Ryan
Keith says it's a symptom of Hollywood where mid budget
movies are going by the wayside when they two could
be hits. Yeah. I think it's marketing, Ryan, I absolutely
think it's marketing. For example, The Monkey, and we're gonna
talk about The Monkey in a minute more detail. I
thought I didn't think the marketing for The Monkey worked
for me, b Shore, because I I'm I think they

(13:46):
should have marketed as a straight horror comedy. It's a
good movie. I We're gonna talk about it more detail.
But I found the marketing was just like from the
guy who gave You Long Legs, and it's like, Oh,
the creepy, fucking disturbing Satan movie that everyone's on comport
but what that loves. Oh it's a horror comedy. Yeah,
yah yah yuk yah you know.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
What I mean, and then I have people online saying, like,
disagreeing with you. I saw on Twitter saying it's not
a horror comedy. It's like it is completely a horror
I don't know if that's just a symptom of like
we've talked about the Blumhouse effect, where there's a lot
of movies that come out, and I think it's because generationally,
like younger people aren't able to just take and handle

(14:24):
that tension. They have to blow it off. They're nervous.
So I don't know if it's they don't realize that
that's not horror, like if like we've watched movies, even
recent ones, where it's very tense and it consistently lasts
throughout long legs long exactly, it's dread and it really
intense movie, Whereas there are movies that I keep saying Blumhouse.
But that's that's like an overarching generalization. I guess where

(14:48):
I'm sorry, I'm going, driving me up.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
Someone is screaming in yes, Is it like you guys
shooting a girl's gone wild in the house? What the
hell's going on there? Children gone wild?

Speaker 4 (14:57):
I wish no, My kids are probably just filming TikTok
and screaming the fucking metaquest VR, I'm gonna kick some
fucking ass anyway.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
Um.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
B show It's all right, you know, I just want
to read this real quick, and then I want to
move on from this because we really don't want to
talk about the plot rams fans said drapes. If you
take out the final twenty twive minutes of weapons, what
would you rade it? Home run? Because even look, I'm
not gonna lie to you, the last twenty twenty five
minutes is like a fever dream, like do you're both
gonna be there, like, yo, what the fucking fuck? And
it just comes it you and comes it yet and

(15:29):
comes to you. Remember Barbarian did that for the last
fifteen minutes, And now it's a creature chasing you in
the fucking street and you don't know what the fuck's
gonna happen. It's that kind of a film. But I
do think that, uh shah. One of the things that
I like about this is now we have another voice
in Hoa to kind of fill this void that we
didn't have three years ago.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
I honestly don't even think we have that void anymore.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
Man.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
I think there is probably a solid like seven to
eight star directors. Yeah, that are doing something like essentially
like masterpieces. Again, Like you know, with ari Aster, I
think he's kind of steering away from horror, which makes
me sad because I think's.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
Gonna go back. I have a feeling he's there.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Yeah, But he's such an artist, dude, He's such a creator.
He's one of those guys. He's like, I don't want
to duplicate what I've done before. I got to accomplish
something new. And I get that, But I love his
horror movies.

Speaker 1 (16:19):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
I want him but.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
Also shot not for nothing. They're kind of hard to duplicate, right,
I mean you can't yep.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
I mean you don't have to necessarily duplicate it. You
could do something completely new. But I just trust his
vision so much that I all watch anything he makes,
preferably hard.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Oh yeah, yeah, I mean, well, wait, do you see Eddington.
It's just it's it's the most It's so ambitious because
of how much no one wants to be reminded of
COVID forever, and yet he goes, fuck it's COVID movie.
He is the biggest stars in Hollywood. COVID movie, you know,
and it's gonna you know, lose like thirty forty to
fifty million dollars. But before we before we move on,
B show, you you saw it together. So now two

(16:53):
of us have seen together. Uh, and that's still making
money as well. So right now these are the one
two punch wh is now that Sinners has sort of
died down for people, and it's been on cable, it's
been on rotation in HBO. The two big movies right
now floating around there are together and of course weapons
and you'll hear about these movies for a little bit

(17:14):
obviously as we move into the fall, we got a
bevy of horror films to come out.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
Is Together a big movie though? Because I'm looking at
didn't do well? No, it's only made like twenty million
dollars world.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
I didn't do well. I don't know why. I think
a lot of people I staying away. I don't know why.
I think people that's seeing it are enjoying it, right,
B Show, But I don't think enough people are seeing it.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
Yeah, but what was the marget though? Because twenty million
for like a small independent.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
Probably was about thirty million. I would see you think
so oh yeah, I'm gonna say thirty mili.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Shit, man, because a lot of those eight twenty four
movies d end up making like ten million, you know.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
Yeah. Uh.

Speaker 4 (17:50):
Wikipedia says seventeen million.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
Oh wow, okay, and it did twenty.

Speaker 4 (17:55):
Twenty twenty so far worldwide.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
It's not gonna do any better now. No, Weabon's out there.

Speaker 4 (18:00):
It did ten and it's opening five days in twenty total, so.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
That we might have to examine down the road, because again,
that's gonna be a movie that is gonna be when
we go at the end of the year, everyone's gonna
be like Sinners Together, Weapons, Weapons, Sinners Together, you know,
Final Destination twenty eight years later. It's gonna be the
same shit. It's gonna be the same fucking shit over
and over and over again. But we wanted to get
to movies and shit that we've watched. But I want

(18:26):
to bring this up because I am still crowing after
the debut of Alien Earth. Now. Alien Earth is the
TV show that is a Hulu exclusive by Noah Hawley.
If you're not familiar with Noah Hawley, he's not really
known for films. He's known for the Fargo TV show
and the short lived Legion, which was me and mission

(18:47):
one other person with the only people that watched the
show on the planet Earth.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
I try to like it was.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
It was, but it was very ambitious. It was like
I wasn't on a lot of weed back then, and
I kind of feel like I want to watch it now,
like just trip out and watch it now, because I
have a feeling if I watched it now, you'd be like,
oh my god, this is like the best shit I've
ever seen in my life. But Noah Hawley is now
taking the reins for the TV show. This takes place

(19:13):
before the first film. It follows Prometheus, and then I
guess coven It and then this. So that's where we're
at with the movie. It debuted the other night, back
to back episodes. They're about fifty minutes long forty eight
minutes long. I watched both of them. I will say
the first one, Shah, I thought it was great, love

(19:34):
loved it, but I thought it moved a little slow,
and then the second one barreled me. I was literally
screaming at the TV last night watching the eight foot
xenomorph that looks unbelievably good, Maybe the best looking Xenomorph
we've had in years. Jah, I know you've only seen
the first one, so we could just talk a little
bit about the first episode. What did you think of

(19:55):
the first episode?

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Yeah, so I actually just got finished watching the first episode.
I plan watching a second. I'll probably watch it tonight
after the show. It started out very slow, I'll say that,
which is what I heard. So going into it, I
knew it was going to be slow. I thought the
CGI was amazing in this looks like that crash scene

(20:16):
with the ship when it hits the buildings and all the.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
Oh, it's like a Marble. It's like a big budget
Marvel Like.

Speaker 2 (20:22):
The looks super realistic. So as far as the plot,
I'm a little confused. I know there's like three tribes
of there's five.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
Now there's five operations that control what is Earth? You know,
one hundred years from now.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
Doesn't sound too far off, It really doesn't.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
It's like, really doesn't Google Apple fucking Amazon.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
It's like, yeah, there's five and now there is so
much influx of the AI of the artificial person, whether
they're a cyborg, whether they're a full on AI b show,
or whether or not they're the new version, which is
of human intelligence and emotions passed into an AI.

Speaker 4 (21:01):
Oh god, that sounds so creepy, but it sounds like
where we're going.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
Oh we're going on Jesus Christ.

Speaker 4 (21:07):
And honestly, I think we deserve it. My wife said
something earlier today. I said, you know, we deserve exactly
what we get, But now I want to see this.
I think from the trailer, I was surprised how impressive
it looked from you know, for something that smaller budget
going to streaming, because usually, like even the Mandalorian, even
though that was praised for having good effects, because I
used a lot of like projection screens on sets, it
looked very natural. You could still tell it was a downgrade.

(21:31):
There's a lot of claustrophobic sets and reused areas that
were very tight together. But just everything seemed like it
looks like big budget here, which is not at all
what I expected for something to hit.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
Well, wait to see this way to you see this
fucking shit, honest to god. Shot. What I loved was
everyone said, Noah Hawley did a good job making the
seventies future technology in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
That's that's pretty much what I got from it, too.
It seems like and you know, be sure, right man,
we'll probably it's probably not too far fetchmen. Really nine
years or whatever?

Speaker 1 (22:04):
Really not?

Speaker 2 (22:05):
I mean, look at Ai in the last two years.
How much has advanced. Imagine one hundred and twenty fucking
years from now.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
Dude, it's really really not. I love the second episode.
I love the usage of black Sabbath at the end
of the first one, which Noah Hawley has used black
Sabbath before. Spoiler alert, he uses tool tool on notorious
for not allowing anyone anyone They only hit fucking iTunes
four years ago. Okay, not even four years ago. They

(22:33):
weren't even allowed on streaming. But they must have fucking
thought enough of this to say, yeah, you could use
one of our songs in your TV show. He's ending
every episode with a full song, a hard ass song,
which is a pre building bridge to the next episode.
I will say this about episode two. It was better
than ninety percent of the horror films that I've seen
this year. It is gory, the special effects are absurd. Shoan,

(22:57):
what did you think of the xenomorph? Looks great?

Speaker 2 (23:00):
So I was gonna ask you this when yeah, when
it when it first, does it have like like spider
legs in the back or am I bugging out? Did
I see that correctly?

Speaker 1 (23:08):
Like it's smaller, it's eight feet, it's an.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
Eight ft well, the first alien that comes out right
when it breaks through the glass door, does it have
like spider legs? Or am I just don't think so?

Speaker 1 (23:19):
No? I no, no, I don't think so. I don't
think so. It's fleshed out. There's so You see so
much of the xenomorph in the second suck Like. You
see it fighting, you see it killing, you see it massacring.
The fact that it's like stands size to size with you.
It has a good fight with the cyborg guy shot
the cyborg like the guy who turns his hand into

(23:40):
a fucking like that. That looks amazing, This sounds amazing.
Oh my god, b show the special effects through the
roof and the blood and gore in this are off
the charts.

Speaker 2 (23:52):
The one thing you're gonna hate, though, is the product
placement in this. Dude. The first fucking episode, the whole
thing is Disney Like, there's just Disney advertising.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
Well, hold on, you're you're you're obuscating a huge point here.
The reason is All of the New Ais are named
after Peter Pan and the Lost Boys because they're children.
That's why.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
So they're playing ice Age in the background like it's yeah,
but keep in mind it's one hundred years later. Like
the second episode, they're watching old baseball because it's nostalgia
now to watch.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
I get both.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
Yeah, yeah, but it's it's extremely long. It's like cringe
worthy long. That's why I'm like, if it was like
a split second, like I get it, they really pan
in on the fucking Peter Pan and the ice Age
like it's like a fucking yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
I kind of forgot about that because when you also,
I also don't want to I don't want to put
the cart before the horse because there's only two episodes.
You know, there's other monsters in this there's other So
now you're gonna see guys, the other monsters that he made.
When he gave an interview, he said he wanted them
to be worse than the xenomore dude that's got they're

(25:00):
all practical. They're all practical.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
Yeah, that's what I was asking about the spider legs
because I was wondering if he's you know, the scorpion
in there, I don't know if they're cross hatching the
DNA's between the aliens and insects, so I don't I'm
curious to see what comes out of it.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
But yeah, wait, do you see two? It has everything
that you want, everything that you want.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Watch it tonight.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
Yeah, I'm excited. I love it. I'm totally dialed in.
I'm a huge fan of Fargo. I'm a huge fan
of the Fargo TV show. If you've never seen it,
it is brilliant. The first two seasons are like on
a whole other level. Last couple of seasons not as good.
Oh yeah, the eye thing and the second thing with
the eyes.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
Like eight eyes.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
Yeah, and it looks real. It looks really well.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
It's one single eyeball too.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
No, yeah, but it's but it's got eyes in the
eyeball and it runs around.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
I'm with Drew Yar. Horror movies always need a smaller
budget and practical effects.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
But also acting is on point. Shot right, everyone's good,
everyone's good. No.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
The thing I noticed is, dude, they have every race, color,
everything you can imagine. Dude, I swear to you. There
is an Asian guy, there is an Indian guy. There's
a ginger white woman. There's a mixed black dude that's
half white, half black. There's a full black dude. Yeah,
they really everything. I think they really should have just
had a benoiton woman. They got literally, oh yeah everyone.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
By the way, the girl herself Sidney Chandler. Her father
is Kyle Chandler, who you've seen in one hundred movies,
who is also now part of the DCU. I think
he plays Kyle Rayner in The Green Lantern. She's gorgeous.
She's kind of racially ambiguous. I thought she was Asian
like her she might like some sort of half this
half that. She's as white as a ghost. That girl
shot that girl looks Does that girl not look white?

(26:46):
I mean the main.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
Girl, she looks white.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
I thought I thought she looked Asian.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
No, she's a white dude. I could tell you.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
Well, I didn't know that she was her who she
was because she's also from a TV show by the
sex Pistols called Pistols. She plays Chrissy Hind, which is
a very disservice to.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
You.

Speaker 1 (27:06):
Don't think Wendy looks Asian?

Speaker 2 (27:09):
I mean, let me google her again.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
I don't pull up Sidney Chandler looking, I would have
bet she was some kind of half Asian. She had
like a Brandon Leathan going.

Speaker 4 (27:22):
Oh yeah, I can see what you're talking about here.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
Or Latina. That girl's white as a motherfucker. She all white?
You this girl? Really?

Speaker 2 (27:36):
Yes, it's a white woman.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
This is what the honkeys look like these days.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
Yes, man, that's why I fell in love with white
people again. Man transitioned over.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
Look like this show. If I told you this girl
was half Asian half Latina, you would even blink.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
Though, I mean, I don't even know nowadays, I really don't.
It's hard to tell. If I looked at her at
first glance, I wouldn't think that.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
She's like she's got a great look.

Speaker 4 (27:59):
Though she's got she's like an anime character.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
For That's what I'm saying. Like to look at her, dude, like,
come on, she's gotta she doesn't look Asian.

Speaker 4 (28:05):
She looks like the way.

Speaker 1 (28:08):
She's one hundred percent white. And I'm like, yeah, her
father is Kyle Chandler. Wait do you see her father?
He's like he's the dad from Friday Night Lights. That's
her dad. He's in a hundred movies. This motherfucker, where
do you go to ads, too many ads in this motherfucker.
She's a good actress. She's very good. She's very good.

(28:28):
My boy, Timothy Olephant looks like he starved himself to
play an Ai in this I he's got the blonde hair,
he's and shot. It's weird. I had to look to
see online who was Ai and who wasn't. Somebody said
she could play b York.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
That using me, man, I can keep up with like
what's what? Who's a human? Who's an Ai? Who's you
know what I mean? There's so I gotta I gotta
adjust to it. Plus I was, to be fair, I
was scrolling a little bit in my phone. I got
a little distracted from time to time because it was
so slow in the beginning.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
But oh yeah, for sure, for sure. Well listen, we
wanted to check in with some stuff that everybody's been
watching on their own. Shot caught up on a ton
of shit. B show, caught up on some shit, And
of course I just saw obviously, I was just talking
about that. I saw. The big movie was Weapons. I've
been to like four movies in like four weeks, so

(29:21):
I might, Uh, I don't think I'm going this weekend
show why don't let the people know some of the
stuff you caught up on before we get to some
of our trailers that we wanted to.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
Yeah, so I watched some two A twenty four movies.
I watched Death of a Unicorn. I think I watched
that like last Thursday night. I didn't really like it too.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
I didn't like you I could have been should have
been way better. Great premise, bad execution.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
Yeah, and and the CGI looked really bad at looked awful.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
Took me out of the movie. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
And I like the concept of like evil unicorns, Like,
I thought that was a cool idea. It was a
very cool idea even I liked even in the cast,
you know what I mean. The cast was dope. It's
overline like a little bit comedy, yeah, maybe like thirty
percent comedy, Yeah, which I was fine with. Like overall,
I would have enjoyed it if the CGI just wasn't
so fucking bad. I though it was pretty terrible. It

(30:10):
really took me out of the movie.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
They seem to not care about CGI, which is.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
Surprising because I mean, a twenty four man, he usually
they put out good shit, you know.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
Yeah, Like they spent some money on it. Too. It
didn't look like cheap like like it looked like a
location movie, like they went somewhere beautiful to shoot it,
and da da da da and Paul Rudd and Jenna
Artega and like, but yeah, it just falls apart there,
BA show if you heard anything about it.

Speaker 4 (30:33):
I heard it was a disappointment. I heard it was
one of those movies where they just slapped the cast
together and there was really no substance to it that
it wasn't all that great. So I didn't have very
high expectations. In fact, Rotten Tomatoes it's at fifty three percent.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
Right now, Yeah, that sounds a fair I think that
sounds like a fair estimation. There. What was the other
eight twenty four movie shot you saw? Uh? So?

Speaker 2 (30:53):
I watched The Legend of Ochi, which I liked one
hundred times more than A Death of a Unicorn.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
H that one reviews.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
It's it's got great effects and it's just such a
colorful fucking movie. It's like an adventure movie.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
Is it a bummer?

Speaker 4 (31:07):
Though?

Speaker 1 (31:07):
I don't know that animal like that's a little bit.

Speaker 2 (31:10):
It's got sad parts. Of course, it's not like a
real animal, so it's like.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
It doesn't matter though the pretest is really about Yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
It does hit you in the fields though, But overall, man,
if you like like adventure films and just colorful filmfully.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
Shot man, Yeah that thing, that thing is really cute.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
Just looking movie. And Wollem Dafoe was in there too. Man,
I forgot.

Speaker 3 (31:30):
Forgot.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
Yeah, now I believe we've all seen The Monkey at
this point. B Show.

Speaker 4 (31:35):
Correct, Yes, I watched it this weekend.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
Okay, so I you know, I was disappointed in it
because I again I brought this up when I saw
it earlier, and I guess in the winter. I just
didn't think it was marketed that well. I didn't think
it was a bad movie. I just didn't didn't think
it was marketed properly. What was your interpretation of it,
B Show, Now that you've finally seen.

Speaker 4 (31:54):
It, it reminds me of even though there's parts I
liked about it, it's it's like we've talked about before.
It was just a series of scenes and it was
a horror comedy. It was like there was some really
cool kills. Oh yeah, there was My favorite I think
is the hotel pool. Now she jumps in the pool.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
The opening's great, The openings fucking fantastic.

Speaker 4 (32:14):
Yeah, there's I mean, there's a lot of cool shit.
There's a lot of great ideas, but it basically just
my estimation. It felt like someone read the book and
then went all right, I'm gonna take this, take this,
take this, take this, and we're gonna show this happen.
It's like the south Park thing we've talked about. This happens,
and then this happens, and then this happens, and then
this happens. And there's a couple like points in the

(32:35):
movie where it takes a turn. But really, to me,
it was just a series of scenes nothing. I mean,
a couple had impact. But to me, it was like
it wasn't serious enough. They would buffer it with comedy
or goofy shit. There was some good ideas, it just
didn't seem like from especially from Oz Perkins, who had
just pulled off long legs. It's to me it seemed

(32:57):
like a huge step down.

Speaker 1 (32:59):
Okay, yeah, I mean, but it's not a bad movie.
It's just no, not at all shot. What was your
take on it? Overall?

Speaker 2 (33:07):
My main issue with it was was just too comedic. Man,
I was not expecting it, even though I mean, you
watched it prior to me watching it, so I kind
of got the up that it's not going to be
exactly what I expect. But I didn't realize how much
of it was comedy, you know what I mean. I
mean the gore was was cool. Man Like, I like
the premise. I guess it's probably not going to make

(33:27):
my top five. To be honest, it's probably number five
for me right now, just because it might be a
top ten. Yeah, I'm probably.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
Yeah, yeah, maybe maybe top ten. That's fair. I mean
it was. It was definitely again not I don't think
anybodys are saying it's bad. I just don't. I didn't
when people were jerking off over it, like this is
the best. I was good. Pokings hits it again and
I'm like, no, not really the ending. What did you
guys think of the ending? Because I still kind of
didn't understand the bust thing. Did you where were you

(33:54):
on that bea show? Because you recently saw it before.
I haven't seen it since.

Speaker 4 (33:57):
I thought it was like, I'm not going to ruin it.
I thought it was a very final ending, and to me,
it just seemed like they kept stacking up kill kill, kill,
like to try to overdo it at the end. So
I didn't think it was anything much more than that
or just to sell like the de nihilism of it,
like because that's the story. It's like, this is the

(34:19):
curse and this is what you live with and you
just have to you know, basically, shit happens and you
have to deal with the consequences, right, Fate is inevitable.
So I thought it was just it had to do
with that. But I thought there was something shoehorning at
the end. It didn't need to be there, I really
I like, Like I said, I didn't dislike the movie.
I liked it, but it had a hard time keep

(34:40):
my attention one because it was really long. It felt
really long.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
It was about fifteen minutes too long. I was, yeah,
and that ending underwhelmed me, Like the crescendo with the brothers.
I was like that, Yeah, should have been a bigger moment,
Like I don't know, it was like a two minute
moment and then it was over, right, show what did
you think at the end?

Speaker 2 (34:57):
Ding To be honest, I barely remember it. Wow, Okay, Yeah,
I mean that movie didn't really leave much of an
impression on me. I just remember the gore scenes.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
For the most part, that was very good.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
That was well execute. Other than that, man, I mean,
especially for like a Stephen King film, I went into
it not really expecting a fucking comedy, you know what
I mean?

Speaker 1 (35:18):
Yeah, well, yeah, I mean he's written so much ship.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
And I hope he kind of shies away from doing comedies.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
Man.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
I'm hoping we don't walk into The Keeper thinking it's
a fucking we have that long walk.

Speaker 1 (35:27):
That's no comedy. Uh, there's no way that's a comedy.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
Long walk.

Speaker 1 (35:32):
Yeah, Stephen King. The guys that walk and tell you
you can't stop walking, they blow your brains out. O.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
Yeah, I remember that.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
That's not but that's Stephen King.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
That's you know, I'm talking about Perkins. I'm hoping that
The Keeper is Yeah.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
J T. Mulner from uh uh, the writer and director
of uh Strange Darlings. Uh. He did the adaptation for this,
So I'm excited. I will go see that for sure.
And even though Mark Hamill makes me want to fucking
puke every time he's on the Internet, but I'm gonna
let that go. But were there any other honorable mentions

(36:06):
before we move on to We got some banger trailers.
Be sure, anything else you caught up with?

Speaker 4 (36:10):
Yeah, my kid is into Wednesdays, So we.

Speaker 1 (36:12):
Watched the first I'm waiting to watch that with the girls.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
Yeah, we watched this the second, but is the first
half of the second season to were caught up four
or five episodes. I love Louise Guzman. I don't know
how I feel about him as Gomez Adams at thee
I think.

Speaker 1 (36:26):
Too, it's a little hokey. Yeah, it's probably the hokeiest
thing on the whole show.

Speaker 4 (36:30):
Yeah, and it kind of works, but it also doesn't,
so I don't know. Steve Buscemi's in This is like
the new hald Master, which is fun.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
Yeah, pretty fun. It's fun, interesting.

Speaker 4 (36:40):
Murder, mystery angle, some red herrings. As good as the
first season, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
It was fun.

Speaker 4 (36:47):
Doesn't have the heat, not at all, but it's it's fine.
And also Wednesday at one point is wearing Adidas Windbreaker
like breakaway fucking pants. Oh that's funny, And she was
running across the screen and I'm like, she runs, yeah,
you'll there. They're in a fucking caper or some ship
going Okay, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
It's cute. It's a cute see show and it's a
good looking show.

Speaker 4 (37:09):
Yeah, and she's running across the screen and I go, Sophie,
why the hell is she wearing Adidas pant that I
used to wear in seventh grade?

Speaker 1 (37:15):
And I love that.

Speaker 4 (37:16):
This is completely fucking weird. But no, it's fine. There
is a cool scene, a creature kind of scene about
it's like a legend of the camp and it takes
on a life of its own. But basically this kid
who it's very Edward Scissor handsy, but basically this kid
at camp died this legend and he replaced his heart
with the machine. So oh, yeah it is. It is

(37:41):
pretty fun but very Tim Burton.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
Okay, shot anything else that you caught up with you
want to mention before we move on to the.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
Dead Wes Anderson movie theaters.

Speaker 1 (37:51):
Yeah, I enjoyed it.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
Yeah. I thought it looked really really fuck like any
frame and again that could you could say that about
any Wes Anderson film, but this looks but I mean
this movie, man, I mean if you think about the
colors like that, the heale and that the contrast of it,
I feel like it's like on a fucking hundred, right,
But it doesn't overwhelm you for some reason, Like it
doesn't look like it's oversaturated with color. Yeah, it's just

(38:13):
very vibrant.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
I love the opening of that movie with the plane
and the crash. Yeah, very funny. It was just very funny.

Speaker 2 (38:21):
And usually I don't I don't really. I mean I
get his humor, but I don't really find it funny.
This was probably one of the.

Speaker 1 (38:26):
Well you're there for the art, like you're there for
the high art. You're dialed into the color, the cinematography,
the music. I love that cafe ending at the end.
I don't know why. That just blew me shot. That
fucking blew me away. That cafe, the tightness and the
shot where they're in that little tight cafe eating. You know,
it's just so great. You know.

Speaker 2 (38:45):
Let me ask you this, do you think these are
sets or they go into actual like locations like these mansions?
Are these fucking sets or these people's.

Speaker 1 (38:53):
Remember he uses a lot of miniatures for external and
then he does build and then they build sets like
they go.

Speaker 2 (38:59):
I mean, if these are sads, dude, I mean these local.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
Oh this is gonna get Yeah, he's gonna get nominated
for eight Academy Award technicals like this is gonna be
like original screenplay maybe too. I like this movie a lot.
Anyone who saw it loved it. Violet went back and
saw it again like we went and saw it. She
just fell in love with the girl, like who plays
the nun with such a great character. Best thing, Benisi
aldul Toro has been shot a long time, you know.

Speaker 2 (39:23):
I agree. I think this might be actually one of
my favorite uh Wes Anderson movies, and this might.

Speaker 1 (39:28):
Violet said that too. Violet said, I think this is
in my top three now, and it is.

Speaker 2 (39:32):
I was gonna say the same thing. It might be
my top three now.

Speaker 1 (39:34):
Man, Yeah, b show. It's very good. It's very entertaining
because there's so much like color and like so much
locations and like like destinations. They have to go to
the Middle East, they have to go to Asia, they
have to go like they're going all like shit, they
go like five countries, right they go to Like it.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
Reminds me of like those old like sixties and like
fifties and sixties like adventure movies like rat Race kind
of where they're like going to different locations and countries
like I that's I like those type of films. So
this really resonated. Look at this, Look at any of
these shots. You look at the one next to it,
Look at the table.

Speaker 4 (40:06):
Like the color of the table, Yeah, like the muted yellows,
the muted sea greens, and then there's like therapes on the.

Speaker 1 (40:13):
Table the paper. It's like it's like four different colors.
It's like four us in one shot.

Speaker 4 (40:18):
See that's do this. You guys are talking about like
how vivid and vibrant is and how color saturated. But
then I look at the pictures.

Speaker 1 (40:25):
And they're all like mute and well, but he does
that in different shots, like for example, B Show, there's
a credit scene of in an old fashioned bathroom with
women working and it's shot right shot.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
Shot you actually just passed it, just pass it.

Speaker 1 (40:39):
And it's it's one of the most brilliant.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
All the way to the left with the bathtub scene.

Speaker 1 (40:44):
Yeah yeah, yeah, B Show, that is it. That is
one shot and people will move in and out of
this shot for the whole opening credits. Wow, right shot.
It's incredible.

Speaker 2 (40:56):
Yeah, it's just I don't know me being an artist,
like I I fucking I had a boner the whole time.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
This movie was the plane. I love the plane, Love
the plane, the plane.

Speaker 4 (41:05):
Yeah. I wasn't complaining saying it wasn't vibrant enough. I
was just saying it's funny.

Speaker 1 (41:11):
In the context.

Speaker 4 (41:11):
It was completely unexpected based on how you guys were
talking about it. But it's still very very nice.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
Yeah. And then b show he owns like a mansion,
and like they shoot like in the foyer of the
mansion with these giant staircases, and it's just it's this
wide shot or it's like all these things are happening
off camera, and a kid shooting an arrow off camera, right,
and he's just like, what the fuck is going on?
In the first ten minutes of the Moon.

Speaker 2 (41:32):
Yeah, he's got like seven eight kids out there in
the balcony. One of them shoots the air.

Speaker 1 (41:36):
One of them shoots a real ara. He taught the
kids all like they're all esoteric children. It's a strange.
It's a strange movie. But like, I think it's totally
worth the watch, and I'm glad you saw a shot
because it's I enjoyed it quite a bit when I
saw it in the theater.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
From Paramount, I think, right.

Speaker 1 (41:52):
Yeah, Paramount plus, Yeah, Paramount plus has it now I
think I think they might have a lot of his films.
I feel like HBO Max had some of them. I
want to watch Showtime did yeah, Paramount is with Showtime.
They're the same company.

Speaker 2 (42:04):
Now I want to watch Apartment seven a next that's
on Paramount as well.

Speaker 1 (42:09):
That is the uh rose Baby prequel baby.

Speaker 2 (42:12):
Either Peacock or Paramount.

Speaker 1 (42:14):
I think it's Paramount because it has Rosemary's Baby. I'm
almost positive it's on. Oh, Peacock has it as well.
They're saying, okay, good to know. But we have a
bunch of trailers we wanted to get to and a
couple of them are documentary films vastly different from one another,
so we'll space them out because we want to give
them their due. Now, one of them is a documentary
on Charlie Sheen. Now, if we can rewind the clock

(42:37):
about ten years ago, twelve years ago, Charlie Sheen was
like a big fucking deal. He had left his show
under a fucking huff with the fight with the with
the owner with the writer of Two and a Half Men,
and then he decided to do a tour, which was
just him saying inappropriate things and getting fucking drunk and
like frat guys, fell in love with this dude. But

(42:58):
he's a fascinating guy. I think he's fifty nine now,
and just to see where he is at sixty compared
to where he was twelve thirteen years ago fascinates me.
So I don't know what they call it, but it's
the Charlie she It's the Sheen Documentary aka Charlie Sheen,
aka Charlie Sheen, which is not his name. His name

(43:19):
is Charles Estebez actually, but we're gonna play it for you.

Speaker 5 (43:22):
Now, how do I present this with any class?

Speaker 1 (43:31):
I think we're past that. We're past that.

Speaker 5 (43:33):
Yeah, when you got a lot of shame about a
lot of stuff, shame, shame is suffocating. I lit the fuse,
you know, and my life turns into everything's.

Speaker 1 (43:44):
It wasn't supposed to be.

Speaker 5 (43:47):
There's only one personal live that has the answers to
so many people's questions about me, and that's fuck it.
Somebody call action.

Speaker 1 (44:06):
Speed you want it.

Speaker 3 (44:08):
Because he was lovable, brilliant, had so charming and smart.

Speaker 1 (44:11):
Charlie is a probably baby pussy bitch.

Speaker 5 (44:15):
Charlie's career really took off and the whole world goes,
he's that fucking guy. Imagine what that did to my head.

Speaker 1 (44:25):
He was the highest paid TV star of all time.

Speaker 5 (44:28):
Everything was fine for a while, nobody got hurt, nobody
got arrested.

Speaker 1 (44:35):
For a while, and he started experimenting with everything.

Speaker 4 (44:41):
When it started to change, it was quick, keep happing,
saying no, no, no, I'm in the hospital now, but.

Speaker 1 (44:46):
Next week I'll be ready for the show. Oh my god.
When Charlie said that he was smoking seven Graham rocks,
he was he was smoking seven gram rocks.

Speaker 4 (44:53):
He testified against me and I went to jail.

Speaker 5 (44:57):
I was aware things were coming on glued when I
can't imagine being my dad, I have really.

Speaker 1 (45:03):
Hurt the people I love.

Speaker 6 (45:04):
You can't really have a relationship with someone going through addiction.

Speaker 1 (45:07):
No, Charlie Schobert, He's gonna tell you the truth.

Speaker 5 (45:11):
The stuff that I plan on sharing. I had made
a sacred vow to only reveal to a therapist.

Speaker 4 (45:17):
Is there gonna be anything called limits.

Speaker 1 (45:22):
Now? Because he's gone, okay, shot. I have to watch
that because I have a feeling there's so many awful
things this man did that we don't even know about.

Speaker 2 (45:35):
I still can't believe he's smoking fucking quarter ounce crack rocks. Yeah,
that's fucking insane. I'm seeing more, more and more of this.
We had that pee wee one that recently came out.
There was another one too, right, somebody else had, was
it Ernest? Yes, yeah, yeah yeah. So this this seems

(45:56):
to be a theme. I think it's probably cheap to
reduce these, so you probably gonna see more and more.

Speaker 1 (46:01):
That Flix pays well, they have a reputation of paying
the big, big fucking box dude.

Speaker 2 (46:07):
But what I mean is these are easy to pump out,
you know what I mean, Like, if you have the money,
you don't have to put much into the production. That's
just getting a couple of people together and telling stories
and splicing some clips in there. It looks interesting though,
I check it out. You know, I still haven't seen
the p V one. I need to see.

Speaker 1 (46:21):
That B show. You know, it's funny when I heard
him talking, I heard Artie Lang's voice like in my head,
like the like the like the the dried up you know,
because he's you could see he's dried up. The hell
he's not on anything. You could just tell he looks
like he looks like a rehabbed person. But then I
saw that montage of his movies and I said, fuck,

(46:42):
this guy had a great career.

Speaker 4 (46:45):
I forgot how many movies he was in because movies.
He's almost like Robert Downey Junior in a way where
they had a career, they had to go off track,
they kind of come back on for a while. I mean,
fucking even, what was Major League nineteen ninety one?

Speaker 1 (47:00):
It was eighty eight or eighty nine, Man, it.

Speaker 4 (47:01):
Was close, and then Platoon was like nineteen nine and
it works.

Speaker 1 (47:04):
Yeah, that was like eighty nine or ninety.

Speaker 4 (47:06):
And then the run on two and a half Men
was crazy.

Speaker 1 (47:08):
So here's the thing, it was the highest paid actor intelligence.

Speaker 4 (47:11):
I have an issue with documentaries like this from a
philosophical standpoint of here's someone who was described as a
narcissist who allegedly knowingly possibly infected people with HIV yes
without telling them that he was positive allegedly and now
toward the end he's gotten. It reminds me the the

(47:32):
born again Christian and wrestling thing, where like people can
be pieces of shit and then they go I'm good,
I got God. Now I'm gonna tell everyone forgave me.

Speaker 1 (47:39):
So you guys have to ha ha.

Speaker 4 (47:41):
Yeah, So like I don't know him doing this for Netflix,
getting to be like, oh, I'm gonna be honest now
and I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (47:48):
Okay, So he got the people who like Chuck Laurie,
the Creative two en f men who he was at
war with for a decade, and John Cryer who you
know other and even Heidi Fly So he helped put
in prison participate in this short pen. Doesn't you know
he's kind of a closed guy, like.

Speaker 4 (48:02):
I understand, but like, you know how it's gonna be recepted.
People aren't gonna think about that portion of it. It's gonna
be oh, that was terrible when he was being a
piece of shit, but look at how much of a
great guy he is now, Like I don't know.

Speaker 1 (48:14):
That we're getting that. I got the, I got the
he's still he's just not on drugs and alcohol anymore.
But all right, well I'm gonna check this out. I'm
gonna chee this out.

Speaker 4 (48:22):
It's like if they did an a Vince McMahon documentary. Now, yes,
it would show all the shitty things that he may
have done, but if he can get on there and
show that I'm a handsome son of a bitch and
I'm charismatic. Everyone's gonna go, oh, well, you know, look at.

Speaker 1 (48:34):
All We'll be sure we should cleanse the palette here
with a documentary about a way more important person named
Martin Scorsese. Uh, there is a Martin Scorsese documentary, and
I know Sha is gonna watch this the day it's
available because he talk about careers and just like one
of a kind people. Martin Scorsese still making movies in

(48:58):
his eighties. But there is a documentary coming out. I'm
sure it's gonna be loaded with stars, and we have
the trailer for it now. Of this up maybe one
of the most prolific directors of all time, Marty was
very upset.

Speaker 7 (49:13):
You get a call Spielberg at the office and Steve,
I love that.

Speaker 1 (49:17):
They're all boys. I just I love you. Come over
to the house.

Speaker 7 (49:20):
They want me to cut all the bloods birding that
cut the guy who loses his hand, and he was
going crazy.

Speaker 5 (49:25):
I mean the stories you wanted to kill the head
of the studio.

Speaker 1 (49:29):
You had a gun.

Speaker 6 (49:30):
I was going to get one, so you said you.

Speaker 4 (49:33):
Were going to get it.

Speaker 1 (49:34):
This is over taxi driver, really and you said you
were going to do well with the gun. Oh, I
was gonna. I don't know. I was angry.

Speaker 6 (49:40):
I said, I'm going to threaten them or maybe just shooters.
And I had no idea. I mean I was threatening.
What I wanted to do, and that was the gun.
I'm gonna. I would go in, find out where the
rough cut is and break the windows and take it away.
They're going to destroy the film anyway, you know, so
let me destroy it. I'll destroy But before destroying it,

(50:03):
I'm gonna steal it. Said Marty started that.

Speaker 7 (50:08):
They said, I didn't know what to do. And then
I don't know who idea that mollified the m p
a A.

Speaker 1 (50:19):
But it might have been Marty.

Speaker 6 (50:20):
What if we took that whole sequence and turned the
color down and make it feel more like a tabloid,
you know, make it Brainy.

Speaker 7 (50:30):
Save the movie because he didn't have to cut Eddie
the violence.

Speaker 6 (50:33):
He just had to take the color red down to
a kind of brown.

Speaker 1 (50:37):
Ho shit.

Speaker 2 (50:38):
That's bizarre, man. Yeah, I would check this out the
day it comes out here. I love I love Marty Man.
I think he's probably one of my favorite people that's
still alive that's not family related.

Speaker 1 (50:52):
Oh my God, I am.

Speaker 2 (50:53):
Fucking mesmerized by this already, and we only got one clip.
This wasn't even really a trailer, it was more of this.

Speaker 1 (50:58):
Was a teaser. This was the teaser because of Cparently,
this is stories about his career that have not really
been told.

Speaker 2 (51:04):
I vaguely remember this story too. I think I'm watching
it on like a YouTube video, but I just assumed
it was fake. I just assumed it wasn't real.

Speaker 1 (51:11):
I love that he called Spielberg in like seventy and goes, yeah,
I'm gonna go I'm gonna kill them, I'm gonna go
take my movie and murder them.

Speaker 2 (51:18):
Well, keep in mind that was like one of his
first movies too, So he was.

Speaker 1 (51:20):
The second film, meand Streets.

Speaker 2 (51:21):
He didn't have much of a career yet, he was
willing to risk at all.

Speaker 1 (51:24):
This was like the first bigger studio film, right Mead
Streets was gritty, It was like a gorilla style making,
but b show like there's So these are two of
the most brilliant, prolific generation defining people literally candidly talking
about one of them getting a gun to steal their
movie back.

Speaker 4 (51:46):
It just it's it's symbolic of that spirit that came
out of USC in the nineteen sixties in southern California.
You know, when the Hollywood Code died and they were
looking for new voices. They took chances, a lot of chances.
Something that I've debated with another friend of mine who
talks about, like why there aren't any good movies anymore.
It's like, well, you only watch the studio shit, the

(52:07):
big stuff, And the reason why is because those studios
used to take chances on George Lucas, Brian de Palma,
Martin Scorsese, Francis fort Coppola, and like they would independently
finance some of their stuff and then go to a
bigger studio to get it made or to get help
or distribution. That really kind of happens now, but you
see that with a twenty four neon focused features stuff

(52:27):
like that. Maybe Blumhouse so but but it is very
evocative of that spirit coming out of the sixties, where
it was very experimental, very much independent in nature, and I'm.

Speaker 1 (52:38):
All Freddy Man a lot of grit. Yeah, I was
like when I saw this, I was like, oh, show,
it's gonna fucking lose it. When he sees this.

Speaker 2 (52:44):
Fucking yeah, man, I gotta I got a soft spot.

Speaker 1 (52:46):
For a Oh he's Legends, Legends on Legends.

Speaker 2 (52:51):
Here to see some of his movies. I've never seen
The Comedian Is that is that what it's called?

Speaker 1 (52:56):
Or like the The Legendiro and yeah, The King King
of Comedy de Niro and Jerry Lewis.

Speaker 2 (53:03):
Yeah, I've never seen that one.

Speaker 1 (53:06):
You know it's dark. Just try to believe you're gonna
you watch this movie, You're gonna be like, this is
really dark.

Speaker 2 (53:12):
Like I'm waiting for Criterion to put it out.

Speaker 1 (53:14):
Man.

Speaker 2 (53:15):
They have most of his movies though, so waiting for
that one.

Speaker 1 (53:17):
Yeah, I'm excited for this documentary. We have another movie
coming out with a pretty big star. Timothy Shallamy is
in a movie by one of the Saftie brothers. I
believe this is Benny saft. There's two Safty brothers. They
have split up. They used to make movies together. One
of them is an actor one of them the other
is more of a director. I don't know which one
this is. This might be the one that made Smashing Machine.

(53:40):
I think that's Benny Safty. There are two brothers from
Queens that I like quite a bit. I've seen some
of their films. Enjoyed them uncut gems. The movie with
Pattinson where he used the drug dealer that high times,
high Time, High Times, high times whatever. That movie shot
movie is amazing. That sound. That's like a mean streets
kind of movie. The drug Dealers in Queen like the

(54:00):
drug Dealer Brothers and Queens and ones in the hospital
and Pattinson's like a junked out like maniac. But this
is movie called Marty Supreme. A lot of people excited
about it because it has Timothy shallow May in it.
It's doing a lot of great work, big big name.
We're gonna check it out now.

Speaker 8 (54:20):
Hey it's Marty Mouser. I'm in the royal suite. That's
not even the lobby yesterday. Okay, well they never talked
to a natural movie star. You know, something of a
performer too, are you? Yeah, you don't believe me what
you have the daily middle Friend.

Speaker 2 (54:36):
Yes, it's a nice picture.

Speaker 1 (54:38):
Right, she looks pretty good. If you think that's some
sort of blessing, is not.

Speaker 2 (54:46):
It means I have an obligation to see a fairy
like caterpillar.

Speaker 1 (54:50):
And with that obligation, oh that's Josh. Okay, Benny Benny.
That's Josh Benny is making believe. But I'm telling you
this game it feels about.

Speaker 8 (55:04):
And it's only a matter of time before I'm staying box.

Speaker 3 (55:08):
Yeah, fuck that guy.

Speaker 1 (55:19):
This just looks good. That's h brand rash.

Speaker 2 (55:33):
I'm not trying to control you, lotty, but I don't
think you understand the stakes.

Speaker 4 (55:38):
The high stakes of power here world poker or world
ping pong.

Speaker 1 (55:43):
Yeah, well this is the sixties, I think, so.

Speaker 4 (55:48):
It's very different of our dream of yours.

Speaker 8 (55:50):
Doesn't work, It doesn't even enter my consciousness.

Speaker 3 (55:57):
H m hm.

Speaker 2 (56:03):
Oe which you no one's ever thought of?

Speaker 4 (56:04):
Was that seeing you already found a way better?

Speaker 2 (56:06):
I get more engaged now, Buddy, custom ball like that,
it's cost a lot of Money's customer. It's original ball
for the original guy. It's Marty Supreme, not the Mrty
normal bull.

Speaker 4 (56:16):
It looks like the Peter Grig wrestling fan right there.

Speaker 3 (56:18):
Man.

Speaker 1 (56:18):
Well, Josh Saftie's like to put in a b show.
You've probably never seen any movies unless you've seen it
on cut gems. But show they like to put in
like real people like. They put in like they put
in real people like. They don't so it's like kids. No,
they'll put in like random people on the street, like
they'll put what.

Speaker 2 (56:35):
I mean like kids like kids.

Speaker 1 (56:37):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, but there's a lot of hype on this,
Like there's a lot of hype on this for the
Academy Awards, because the Academy loves this kind of shit
b show.

Speaker 4 (56:46):
Yeah, no, it looks good. I mean we've seen trailers
for like the Ferrari movie and this and that, and
this is one of the obscure ones that I think
looks interesting. It's just so bizarre, the ping Pong deal and.

Speaker 1 (56:57):
Well, yeah that is the backdrop is a little unusual.

Speaker 4 (57:00):
Yeah, and like the Alphaville version of Forever Young, I
enjoy that. I mean fine, but no, it just it's
quirky interesting, looks good.

Speaker 1 (57:08):
Yeah, shot like it's this I said this, and this
is also an a twenty four movie.

Speaker 2 (57:11):
Yeah, usually I love a twenty four man. The Pink
Pong kind of took me out, to be honest with.

Speaker 1 (57:17):
The competitive Ping Pong was a big deal.

Speaker 2 (57:20):
It's probably one of those movies I'll check out when
it comes on Max.

Speaker 1 (57:22):
But I mean which probably it'll it'll go to Max.

Speaker 4 (57:25):
If it was a big deal in the sixties. It
means it was probably money laundering, right, probably.

Speaker 1 (57:29):
Yeah. You know, Sidney Sweeney's been in the media a lot,
and she's got a small movie opening this weekend called Americana,
which I didn't know what the fuck this was.

Speaker 2 (57:38):
Are people boycotting that movie because it's a fucking genius?

Speaker 1 (57:42):
No, I don't think they are. But uh, I only
saw the trailer for it like recently, and I didn't
even know this was coming out, but I thought it'd
be worth bringing up because it actually looks like a
really good, low budget kind of movie. And we'll check
it out now. It stars her and Paul Howser. Is
that the guy who the wrestling guy who wrestles Paul

(58:03):
Walter House Paul Walter Hauser. That's a little too long
for me.

Speaker 3 (58:06):
Oh, well, as you do.

Speaker 1 (58:10):
She had a million dollars, I'd go to Nashville thing professionally.

Speaker 5 (58:14):
I didn't know you were soon hissing country music.

Speaker 3 (58:17):
The music is there?

Speaker 1 (58:20):
Wow, I really idea I'd like to run by you.

Speaker 2 (58:25):
I think something bad's going down.

Speaker 7 (58:27):
Have a look at the newest addition to my humble
Little Collector Party, a Lakota Indian ghost shirt.

Speaker 2 (58:34):
Hello I've got shirt. What do you want it?

Speaker 5 (58:40):
I would prefer it to be in the hands of
someone such as myself who could actually appreciate it.

Speaker 6 (58:44):
If someone were to make an effort to liberate that garment,
I would pay.

Speaker 1 (58:52):
Okay, fair enough. So it's a movie. Okay, Yeah, I
got like a million dollar artifact in the track of
my car.

Speaker 5 (59:04):
Listen to me.

Speaker 2 (59:05):
I just smashed that son of a bitch's head.

Speaker 6 (59:08):
I'm gonna get us out of here.

Speaker 2 (59:09):
My home is here.

Speaker 6 (59:10):
In the Great Spirit, What am I supposed to say
to that?

Speaker 1 (59:15):
I have you seen an old damiew shirt?

Speaker 6 (59:17):
The white woman?

Speaker 2 (59:17):
Has that white woman, your mom, your sister?

Speaker 7 (59:19):
Who I am the reincarnation of sing Come on, kid,
this saying exactly the golden ager cultural appropriation right now.

Speaker 1 (59:27):
I remember more horses on my day. I don't think
we should do this. The thing is worth a lot
of movie.

Speaker 5 (59:37):
All I want is the artifacts up.

Speaker 3 (59:42):
Apparently in the.

Speaker 2 (59:42):
Middle of a goddamn murders free.

Speaker 1 (59:45):
This looks hard. Oh that's all Simon rax Arcane Zach Player.

Speaker 8 (59:53):
The world is so full of bad things his Friday,
especially this year alone.

Speaker 6 (01:00:00):
The waitress is goddamn ye.

Speaker 1 (01:00:07):
Are you any good singing?

Speaker 6 (01:00:10):
I'm a hidden Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:00:13):
Hmm. Oh so Braun oh show, that's Braun b r
O and they put out a lot of small market boys.
That's that looks like a fun road movie.

Speaker 2 (01:00:22):
Yeah, it looks like a almost reminds me of like
true romance and like natural band killers, kind of like
that vibe like road trip CA. Yeah, I mean I
love Sydney Sweney.

Speaker 1 (01:00:33):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:00:34):
She is completely uh taking over Anna Taylor Joy Like
she's she can get she's gone, she's out of sight.
It's a it's all about me and God.

Speaker 1 (01:00:45):
She got married. I think I got on. I mean
I think she's just kind of chilling out right, got
too skinny.

Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
Man, She's like a toothpick.

Speaker 1 (01:00:50):
She needs to eat a little bit. She's got to eat.
B Sure this looks like a fun movie.

Speaker 4 (01:00:55):
Yeah, man, a lot more than I expected. I just
thought it was gonna be some goofy like what was it? Immaculate?
Was fun, but it wasn't like this big, over the
top deal. This just this seems almost like not a
Wes Anderson movie. Someone said, maybe like an early almost
like an early Tarantino movie where it's like an odd,
odd character road movie heist. No, it seems fun. I

(01:01:18):
really don't get the hate for Sydney Sweening other than
like she's not like Vava voom. And I heard someone
describe her as having low income eyes, which I thought
was really fucking mean.

Speaker 1 (01:01:31):
Yeah, no one, no one's looking at her eyes. But
you know, yeah, I that opens this weekend, and I
was like, you know, maybe, I was like, I'm just
gonna set that one out. But we got a couple
more movies to catch. There's a couple of horror movies
that are opening. One of them is coming to theaters
this weekend. I've seen this solicited a lot because of
all the rooms, the chat and chats, all the groups

(01:01:51):
and shit, I'm in Fajara and it's called Witchboard. This
got pushed really hard on me from people, so I
thought maybe we'd check it out here. I thought it
looked okay, but I saw it's even playing by me,
which is unusual, and it's opening this weekend in theaters.

Speaker 4 (01:02:08):
Has this trailer been out for a couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (01:02:10):
Which board mm hmm, Yeah, okay, I just want to
make sure I had the right one. Yeah, I've again
killing directed by Chuck Russell. Yeah, back to hear called
this board.

Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
Oh dude, I'm into it already.

Speaker 1 (01:02:25):
Yeah, it doesn't look bad.

Speaker 4 (01:02:32):
Nice, I'm in.

Speaker 1 (01:02:39):
This is in theaters, guys.

Speaker 2 (01:02:45):
The director of the Mask made this.

Speaker 1 (01:02:48):
Yes, yes, what shots like twenty years ago?

Speaker 2 (01:02:51):
Yeah, I know what I'm saying. Where's he been? What
has he been doing for He's.

Speaker 4 (01:02:54):
Been doing other ship because doesn't produces a lot of things.

Speaker 1 (01:02:57):
Yeah, if you want a producer, ju damn. Yeah, just
get pushed hard. You have to trust me. Jeez, how fuck?
I might have to throw the movies. I know I
might need a tissue.

Speaker 4 (01:03:16):
Supposed to me, Christian, this is.

Speaker 1 (01:03:20):
Not to you. Yeah, it looks Bernana's right. They're pushing
this hard.

Speaker 4 (01:03:32):
On the internet, little Patty.

Speaker 1 (01:03:41):
Okay, yeah, b sure, can you pull this up the
reviews because I I must have just got distribution because
I think that's why I was getting pushed. But shot
what an unexpected good trailer? Right?

Speaker 2 (01:03:52):
Yeah, so this is I'm pretty sure this is a remake.

Speaker 1 (01:03:55):
Well, no, there was a movie called this previously.

Speaker 2 (01:03:58):
Yeah, because I've seen that Witchboard. I don't know if
it's a remake of that, but there was a Witchboard
from the eighties. I believe Vinegar syndrome put it out.
So yeah, this this looks great though the only complaint,
as usual is the CGI at the end. There's the
one spot where like the I don't know if it's
a witch some kind.

Speaker 1 (01:04:14):
Of creature, it doesn't translate that well.

Speaker 2 (01:04:16):
Yeah it looks a little iffy, but other than that
and everything else looked fucking amazing.

Speaker 4 (01:04:20):
Six, which is appropriate for Sydney swingy.

Speaker 1 (01:04:24):
No, this is witchboard.

Speaker 2 (01:04:25):
Yeah this isn't Sydney twenty.

Speaker 1 (01:04:27):
You still got your mind?

Speaker 4 (01:04:29):
I know, my mind's in the gutter. Sorry son, he
was asking anyway, nice segue, anyway.

Speaker 2 (01:04:33):
One out, your mind's in the gutter, man.

Speaker 4 (01:04:36):
Dude, the Sydney Sweeney and then the chicks at the
fucking orgy and yeah there was an orgy.

Speaker 2 (01:04:42):
God damn.

Speaker 4 (01:04:42):
Now this looks good.

Speaker 1 (01:04:43):
And Chuck Russell I was.

Speaker 4 (01:04:44):
I saw a little bit of some stuff that evoked
some of his earlier work, like Dream Warriors.

Speaker 2 (01:04:49):
He directed Dream Warriors, and.

Speaker 4 (01:04:51):
He also I think produced uh maybe part of the
Green Mile, not there Mile. His name has been around
a long time, Shawshank Redemption, I think so I may
do a lot, but not a lot of directing lately.
As far as I know.

Speaker 1 (01:05:03):
Yeah, this is in theaters and it's a great trailer.
It looks if it's as good as the trailer, then
you it's gonna knockout punch there. Sixty nine is an
interesting review, but it hasn't That was a critics score,
B show right, because it hasn't didn't open.

Speaker 4 (01:05:16):
Yet open no audience score yet.

Speaker 1 (01:05:18):
Okay, so it's sixty nine for critics, which seems fair.
I bet you the audience score is going to be
in the seventies, possibly eighty. But if you want to
see a horror movie and you want to stay away,
if you haven't, I've already seen Weapons and Together, this
might be a place to go. Anyway, we got one
other horror movie. I like this trailer quite a bit.
I think this is a bloody, disgusting movie. A dream eater.
I just love that title. So it was being solicited

(01:05:40):
quite a bit this week on a lot of horror groups,
so I thought we would check it out here and
then we're gonna head on over to the old Patreon.

Speaker 4 (01:05:50):
I gotta skip the ad first, of course.

Speaker 1 (01:05:53):
But who would have thought that which board would be
such a home run?

Speaker 4 (01:05:57):
Yeah, it's funny how there's certain movies that like, we're
not expected dingered. Like when we went through at the
end of last year and looked at like the slate
of movies for this year, this wasn't even close to me.

Speaker 1 (01:06:06):
There's still a plethora of big horror movies coming out
big this year. Toxic Avenger and like next week.

Speaker 6 (01:06:12):
That's right, doctor said, sometime away might be good for you.

Speaker 1 (01:06:18):
Yeah. They compared this to the Evil supposed to.

Speaker 5 (01:06:20):
Record any sleepwalking of what you remember from each episode.

Speaker 1 (01:06:22):
I think I could be.

Speaker 2 (01:06:28):
I could see what.

Speaker 1 (01:06:35):
Oh, I like that back to bed.

Speaker 3 (01:06:38):
People do.

Speaker 1 (01:06:40):
That's he's here here.

Speaker 4 (01:06:46):
There are other people seeing this thing in their dreams
night after night.

Speaker 1 (01:06:51):
You need to get out of that house. Now, wasn't
that Alex.

Speaker 3 (01:07:03):
Isn't you.

Speaker 1 (01:07:10):
Damn Okay? I think that. Yeah. Shot, this is another thing,
Like I feel like those are things you've seen before, right,
But it's a weird how things that you've seen before
in movies keep popping up in these like found footage,
first camera shoot movies, right, like like there's never an

(01:07:32):
end to it.

Speaker 2 (01:07:33):
Right. Personally, I'm not a fan of The trailer kind
of reminded me of like quarantine ish, Like we've seen
this before. It's nothing original, and anytime they say it's
like terrifying, scariest movie here, I immediately just assume it's
going to be dogshit. And Eli Roth Man like, I mean,
he's done some good stuff, but recently other than Thanksgiving,

(01:07:53):
I mean even Thanksgiving was okay, that's.

Speaker 1 (01:07:57):
For Eli Roth It was good if it was somebody else. Yeah,
I do.

Speaker 2 (01:08:01):
I do like the name of the movie dream Here.

Speaker 1 (01:08:04):
But that shot with the snow is crazy. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:08:07):
Yeah, remind me of a Long Legs a little bit,
rest in Piece of Marcus Crane Man. His his clothing
line was called Dreammeater. Wasn't really mind him. Yeah, Oh wow,
I didn't know that rest in Pisa Marcus Marcus.

Speaker 1 (01:08:18):
Crane uh B sure. I Like I said, I I
thought it was. I like some of the stuff in it,
but it's just weird the way these things keep popping
back up over and over again. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:08:26):
We watched the trailer a little while ago about like
people going into a house. It was almost like limital
spaces and you couldn't find your way out. So like,
I feel like we've seen that a little bit there.
It kind of reminded me of the movie with the
weird grandparents and the kids go to stay.

Speaker 1 (01:08:39):
Oh that's a good movie.

Speaker 4 (01:08:40):
It is, that's an And you know what, I I
didn't dislike the trailer too much, but like again, as
soon as I see like, oh my god, that's so
scary because the camera's shaking like it just it.

Speaker 1 (01:08:54):
I took it scary because the guy looks like Jesus.

Speaker 4 (01:08:57):
Well yeah, jeez, yeah, I get it, but I don't
Scary Jesus.

Speaker 2 (01:09:01):
Scary Jesus.

Speaker 1 (01:09:02):
That's a good name for a band, by the way,
especially if you have a metal band.

Speaker 4 (01:09:05):
Spooky Jesus.

Speaker 1 (01:09:06):
Spooky Jesus is so much better than Scary Jesus. They're like, hey,
who's opening tonight, Spooky Jesus. Dude, they suck bro like
shitty Beatles my favorite name for a shitty Beetles. Yeah,
it's the greatest name. Every time someone brings up a
band or if they go hey, I heard you, what band
were you? And I go shitty Beetles. Maybe you've heard
of it, like just because I just it's just such
a douchebag thing to ask.

Speaker 4 (01:09:27):
Wayne's World should be required reading or required watching for everybody.

Speaker 1 (01:09:30):
I'm seeing more people use clips from Wayne's World like,
and I'm like, yeah, that shit was funny, Like, I
don't know if it holds up like shot. Do you
think A Wayne's World would hold up today?

Speaker 2 (01:09:42):
If you watched it back in the day, maybe with nostalgia,
you'd probably appreciate if somebody's watching it in twenty twenty five.
Absolutely not, dude. I watched the original Happy Gilmour the
other day, uh, and I loved it for the most part.
And I fucking hate Adam Sandler now man like it's
hold up, well, dude, it does not hold up. It's
very cringe. When he's like doing like the Google Gaga ship,

(01:10:04):
I'm like.

Speaker 1 (01:10:04):
Dude, what the yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:10:06):
I watching? What is this?

Speaker 1 (01:10:08):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:10:09):
I'm not. I have a weird relationship with Adam Sandler
because I really like his movies, but I don't like him.

Speaker 1 (01:10:14):
You know see, I like him and I don't like
his movies.

Speaker 2 (01:10:17):
I like him as a person, I don't like him
as an actor. I like you the same character every time, dude.
It's just it's the same.

Speaker 1 (01:10:23):
He wears clothes from Walmart and Kmart like clothes. He
does not spend money, he does not all up.

Speaker 2 (01:10:28):
And that's Nick Foley to man, but do you like
do you love Nick Foley right now?

Speaker 1 (01:10:32):
I used to tell, used to used tell the internet.
If he wasn't on social media, he'd be my one
of my top three of all time. But then the
Internet happened.

Speaker 4 (01:10:40):
Speaking of the Internet and Adam Sandler, have you guys
ever seen the Facebook page people who look like Adam
Sandler but aren't Adam Sandler.

Speaker 1 (01:10:47):
No, I hope it's women, because that would be the
greatest thing.

Speaker 4 (01:10:49):
There's been a few, but no, it's basically just random
pictures of people from the Internet that look like Adam.

Speaker 1 (01:10:54):
Jews basically is what you're saying to b show. Those
are called Jews you always. I'm just saying you're probably
don't know a lot of them where you live. True,
and I have a house full.

Speaker 2 (01:11:03):
Of that's true.

Speaker 4 (01:11:04):
Well, my job was gonna be my daughter always says
I dressed like Adam Sandler, so I was gonna take
someone take.

Speaker 1 (01:11:08):
A picture for me. That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (01:11:10):
I post it to that page tagging spitball media And
you should do.

Speaker 1 (01:11:14):
Listen that you should dress his happy Gilmore for Halloween
this year.

Speaker 4 (01:11:17):
So you just gotta like roll out of bed basically, yeah,
just roll out of bed, don't shave golf club from someone,
and then.

Speaker 1 (01:11:25):
Count your money. He's worth like a half a billion dollars.
I wish, dude.

Speaker 4 (01:11:29):
I think when people hate on him, like, look at
the way he dresses, I'm like, who gives a fuck?
He's got more money than.

Speaker 1 (01:11:35):
Gone he's I bet you he's worth three hundred million
dollars because he is all of his own shit, you know.

Speaker 4 (01:11:41):
Because like, honestly, if you were in his position, you've
already made all the movies you want to make, and
they keep throwing money at you to make more movies,
wouldn't you just gather all your friends and be like, hey,
you want to go to Hawaii? Buddy? Yeah, yeah, let's
go to Hawaii for fucking six months.

Speaker 1 (01:11:54):
Okay. Just as a side note, slave cheets slave cheeks
wants to know my shirt? This is a Morrissey shirt
that says only can judge me? Yeah, and what is
Don Stone? He goes Draper's quote from last week's Patreon
the Internet was a bad idea, Yeah it is. I
wish the Internet didn't exist. I really do, because so
many people I like, I could still like, honestly, like

(01:12:15):
if I did the the metric of people I love
that I met because of so the Internet versus people
I can't stand that I used to love. The can't
stand that I used to love. Dwarfs it, like absolutely
dwarfs it. Yeah. Joe punches. Yeah, he's I said, a
half a billion, four hundred and thirty to five hundred
million net worth and he and he wears basketball jerseys

(01:12:37):
and shorts. He dresses like he dresses like a twelve
year old in in like nineteen ninety seven, like honestly,
like he really does. But good for good on him, honestly,
Like I'm not hating on it. I'm jelly, you know
what I mean. And he's like almostly he's like gotta
be fifty seven, fifty eight years old. I mean, he's
no young guy. Oh you thought it was Johnny Cash. No,
it's not. What do you got there at Bisha?

Speaker 4 (01:12:59):
For some reason, they must not be a part of
the group anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:13:02):
Okay, never mind, Fuck you guys. You didn't look like
him enough. Man, they kicked your ass out.

Speaker 1 (01:13:06):
Oh here we go.

Speaker 4 (01:13:07):
People who sort of I guess there's multiple now, but
people who sort of looks like.

Speaker 1 (01:13:14):
It's like.

Speaker 4 (01:13:16):
It's a lot of it stupid and random, and like
most of you kind of go like like it makes
you take a second second.

Speaker 2 (01:13:24):
Look, I see, I see what they mean.

Speaker 1 (01:13:29):
People.

Speaker 2 (01:13:29):
Johnny might be right. I'm pretty sure these are all yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:13:33):
Yeah, I think this is like some anti semitics site.
You might want to you might be on a watch
list speech show anyways, speakers, I mean that looks just
like That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (01:13:42):
Most of these look, this is this is what.

Speaker 1 (01:13:46):
We call a shmear body smear. But listen, we're gonna
head on out over to Patroon. We have a very
special we have two special topics to cover there and
to kind of tease the old palette there. We're gonna
be talking about the twenty eighth anniversary of South Park
that just happened yesterday. Unbelievable, just out and their ratings
are through the roof. And of course we wanted to
talk about the paramount deal with UFC, staggering deal. Just

(01:14:11):
what's been going on the death of pay per view
is something that should I wish twenty years ago happened,
would have saved me a fortune. But we're gonna had
on over there. Now, please consider going to Patreon dot com,
Backslash Spitball Media five bucks. People. That ain't nothing you
couldn't even get from from three blocks from your house
with gas at this point, so please please please check

(01:14:32):
it out. Thanks for our friends for hanging out in
the chat tonight. Thanks to people like our good friends
over at Wrestling Soup, the Drew Yari Show. Hey now,
Rich Dal his podcast is starting I think in like
ten minutes if you've gotta go check that out if
you're staying online tonight. And of course our good friend
Sam Hoyos and Playing Dead. I think he just put
out a new video that. Dude's always pumping out the songs, man,

(01:14:53):
I don't know how he does it. Necromaniacs podcast. They
just did a Jaws three, the first three Jaws retrospective,
which I think it was an interesting idea. And I
just did an interview with Ringsiders that hasn't aired yet
over in the UK talking about Summer Slam and so forth.
A lot of stuff going on at wrestling. I've got
a lot of engagement there. Pretty wild for a guy

(01:15:13):
who barely watches. But we're heading out over to Patreon.
Please consider going there. We're going to see you guys
next week. Hope you have an awesome weekend.
