Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is sporting Life.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Well, welcome along to the spot and I've Racing Podcast
as promised, We're back for the Bedford Derby Festival. It's
a Darby David R john By Berlin foot Ed Chamberlain,
Billy and Ash and David Johnson GC unavailable for selection.
Where you get his thoughts about the talking post from
itself on our social channels across the weekend ed Bedford

(00:26):
Derby Festival two days and does it excite you very much?

Speaker 1 (00:29):
So absolutely love it. It's the most exciting racecourse to
present that in the country. Crowds on both sides, two
earpieces needed, unbelievable buzz boardy I love everything about it.
It's a difficult cell, a bit like for Epsham itself
getting the crowd there for itp It's always been a
difficult cell for us with the way the races, there's
no getting away from that. The Grand National and the

(00:50):
Derby have been the two difficult ones for us over
the last eight years. Well, I've said it numerous times. York's, Goodwoods,
Kempton's and Royal Ascott have been successful stories. But this
year you know it's got half a chance when you
look at the sporting agenda on Saturday morning, What's on
England against our Door and Dora obviously have a huge audience.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
In the evening, but there's not a whole heap else.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
And the best thing is people are going to look
at the paper on Saturday morning AUDI, particularly the tabloids
and the red tops, and see nineteen runners and.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
It might be three to onderfield. Who knows nineteen runners?

Speaker 1 (01:23):
And the best thing about the whole Derby, I know
it's got it's got lots of good stories in it.
But the best thing from my point of view is
the betting is going to be fantastic on this. I
know that sky Bett and the bookmakers will come for
the party with places. It's a cracking betting race this
which is really really important. And from an ITV point
of view, the weather forecast is crap, which is good
news because more people will.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Be at home.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Your rain dance has been I wish we started right
National day. Yeah that one day you will one year,
It'll come round, don't you worry, Ben Linfot The weather
forecast with is me because your driving is down to
the worst park I think I've ever seen in my
passenger history. And please make sure you know where to
park on a grade and if the ground does go
soft like I'll be pushing you out again.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
It's offensive.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
But I am very good at parking in the incorrect space,
so we're less likely to be on a gradient and
more likely to be in a car pat right next
to the exit, which we'll get us to the hotel quickly.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
You could do parking scoots.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
You could park in ExHAM and get one of those
scooters which you're renowned for.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Scoot Can you do that?

Speaker 4 (02:24):
I can see d on EPSHM High Street on an
electrical scooter.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I'm scoting surprised, toy're moving on, thank you. We're now
going to discuss the bet th Darby, Billy and Ash.
It's a stranger. N O'Brien's got a very strong team.
He's got three Culture just had the drawer hot off
the press. The Lightning Winter, who has been the one
that the fives have been negative about, is out in
nineteen and Delaquais is in fourteen. Landborn in ten. We

(02:53):
haven't got the jockey bookings. Well, I think we're expecting
more on Delaquis presumed way Lord and Onlining Winter Colley
minutes maybe I was talking very slowly now in the
hope that something would come through. Really that the best
of the Aigno Bland Derby team.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
Is me already. Even though he's drawn probably next to
Bendlin for out in the car park, I'm still sticking
with the Lion in winter.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
He's the horse I've wanted.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
He's the Baddy Dieharse that I've been looking forward to
for the Derby all year. I thought, you know, looking
through rose tinted glasses, the Dante wasn't such a bad run.
You could certainly put a positive slant on it, you know,
he was. He got worked up before and he was
very keen early on. He got hampered, didn't get a
hard race, and I'm hoping that he will come forward
from that. And I'm also hoping that perhaps he's just

(03:39):
not a great workhorse. If you remember already he ran
at the corner at first time out last year. I
think he was sent off eleven to two in the
Maiden with Ryan Moore on IDs of March the same day.
So I'm hoping he just doesn't sparkle in the mornings
and saves it for the track. Now, the fact that
he's drawn nineteen is a negative without a doubt. You
don't want to be drawn out that white in the derby.

(04:00):
But I still think you look looking.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
At the prices, I think five to two too short.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
About Delacraat. Yes, he's very experienced. He should get a
mile and a half. He's wi do babbie, but he
should stay at mine and a half. Everything suggests that
he would. But his two runs this year it's very
easy to pick holes in them. He won the battle Sacks,
he beat Lomborn. Obviously that farm has been upheld. But
the lepers down thereby tried the last time. They absolutely
walked around the Lepersonne for a mile and just printed

(04:23):
the last two furlong, So I wouldn't put much stock
in that form. To step up to a mile and
a half will suit him, but I don't think he's
done enough to warrant his position at the head of
the market. He's too short for me and Lombourne. Our
colleague Graham North has been all over him as in
each way about for a while. He's a arse that
will definitely get the trip. He will stay, but whether
he'll be just quite classy enough, I'd have my doubt.
So all things being equal. I'm going to stick with

(04:45):
the Line in Winter. I think he's a bit of value,
but yes, the draw is a massive negative.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
David, we've got David, We've got one vote for the
Line of Winter. Where do you go with a valid
al trio?

Speaker 6 (04:56):
Yeah, like Billy, I think the Line of Winter is
still the most interesting one. And I was watching back
the Dantels they're live watching it with my dad and
a few of his friends, and it looked disappointed, and
I was watching it back and it wasn't quite as underwhelming.
I didn't think watching him back on videos when I

(05:17):
was live, and I know, you know, he's met plenty
of trouble. He's sort of thinking he's going to drop
out the back of the TV, but he doesn't. And
everybody was going on about how well night Walker finished
coming through from the rear. Well, night Walker wasn't making
up a lot of ground, or wasn't making up his
ground that much quicker than what the Line in Winter was.

Speaker 4 (05:38):
I didn't think he was losing it that much.

Speaker 6 (05:41):
And I think this still nineteen, I don't think he's
going to be a huge negative in a field like this,
when what we're going to want to see from him
is likely to be dropped out. He's going to be
ridden to settle. And how many times do you see
the derby where they come sweep into the and you
just see one horse come with a long, sustained sweeping run.

(06:04):
So I wouldn't be overly concerned.

Speaker 4 (06:06):
About the drawer.

Speaker 6 (06:08):
It's all about whether he settles. And I think you know,
given that the way that they race going uphill, they'll
be going across the far side of the track in
the early stages anyway, So I think i'd rather be
very high than very low with a horse like the
line in winter, So I wouldn't be overly concerned by
the draw Obviously he has not had the ideal prep

(06:30):
and the lord about his price will still be debated
dependent on the jockey bookings, but I would be signing
with him. And as Billy was saying, delaquare, he's formed.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
Just isn't that good?

Speaker 6 (06:44):
You can see why he's found his way towards the
head of the bets in it's because he's won a
couple of trials, But I mean it's over twenty years
since the bally Saxon Darrenstown route has been successful. I
think high Chappell was the last.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
Force to do that.

Speaker 6 (07:00):
And he's also got that Dubarwie who do, hasn't He
obviously still never won the derby with a son of
his Dubari famously didn't stay and he was a son
of Dubai Millennium whose only defeat came in the derby.
So wouldn't it by be ironic if it was Delaquare
the coolmore to put the Dubarwie who do to an end?

(07:21):
But I think that will still be remaining for another year.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Yet Scoope has gone two nil to the Lightning Winn't it?
What would will be riding if he was six out lighter.

Speaker 7 (07:32):
Six five stand these days day A lot of ways
I should have said three nil, three nil for the Yeah,
you can't believe this.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Next one.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
I have the same doubts about Delaquare as David. I
thought he he that trially won at Lestown last time,
was very slowly run and he sprinted away from them.
And I have my doubts that he is a man
and a half horse. I think he could be a
ten fur long horse in the race. You know he's
out with Tepping who as a miler and same thea

(08:09):
Barwie concerns. So he looks at ten Ferl horse to
me the lining winter. He absolutely screams a mile and
a half all the way through his pedigree, see the stars.
His dam was a mile and a half winner, she
was a sister to male and a half winners. And
whatever he's done, so find his career. I think we're
going to see the real the lining winter over a
mile and a half at some stage. Whether that's Saturday

(08:30):
from Stale nineteen in a Derby, I'm not sure, but
I think he's the mile and a half horse at
Ballydyle that's in the Derby. Lamborne would be a bit
too slow for me to be winning a Derby. So yeah,
out of the three, absolutely the lining Winter.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
And what sluck me was even through the trials and
tipulations with augustlow Dan and City of Troy and the
recent resurrections, there was never even a hint that More
would ride anything else in the Derby. But that puts
me off slide off the light of winter. The fact
that is, if he thought he was the real deal,
it would be crossing his mind not to be rided
him he might ride. That's the beauty, this podcast, the

(09:07):
slot wheels he might go. We don't think he is God.
There give us your body. Dial farts well, and I.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Don't fancy the line of Winter. I think he might
be my life. I disagree with Scoop the way races.
I think he's fast. And I'm amazed that DJ was
at York that day and wasn't put off by the
mess that the line in Winter was before the race.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
I mean he was an absolute in the bar, not
the disclosed.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
I know it's difficult at Natesma. I would have to
have to walk across, and then there's gonna be nothing
compared to Epsen. Good luck getting the line and Winter
to the start and keeping a lid on him. And
then did you see him just before he went in
the stalls? And then he pulled like stink. And I
know what happened with August Road, and I know what
happened with City of Troy. But Aiden had more time.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
This is the Dante.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
This is a trial he never uses because it comes
so close to the Derby. And he's had since the
Guineas to turn those two. He hasn't had long to
turn it around, but nothing like the Guineas. He just
hasn't had the time. And listen, Ryan might ride him,
but I personally couldn't be with the line and Winter.

(10:09):
I couldn't be with Delaqua either. We've talked about endlessly
with Dubo. He's got a cadence delaquas like Lance Armstrong,
and to win a Derby you need more of a
yan Ulrick to use a cycling analogy, and I take
them both on. I think and I think lamborne or
finished third and be hot favorite to win the legend.
That's where I stand on ballet dots.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
There you go, so I grained off on the podcast
there that's very much his. I'm gonna you go first
with ruling cart. I mean we're talking about the avenue
of Dubawi win in for cool, I've got to justify.
I go into post for goodolph in it a two
thousand guineans winner as well decent dot in seven, simple
question will this stay?

Speaker 1 (10:46):
I've got my doubts. I was with him for the Guineas,
but I think I'm probably against him on Saturday reluctantly
because I think he's a really good horse. But I've
got my doubts about STAMINAI I just think also with him.
You know, he's a breeze are I just feel he
was absolutely tuned to the minute for the Guineas. I mean,
he looks sensational that day and he at the end

(11:09):
of the day. I know Bwick gets a lot of
credit for the way he rode in the race, but
his instant turn of foot was decisive, wasn't it. I
just think he's he's quick, and I'm loath to desert
and already loathe to desert him. And isn't it just
brilliant that we've got both Guineas when are going to
depths and that is fantastic. We'll talk about the oats
in a minute, but it's so good and adds so
much more interest to it, and I am loath to

(11:33):
desert him, but I'm going to particularly at the price.
He could easily go our favorite ruling court two thousand guineas,
when in the derby, I could easily see him going
my favorite, and I'm reluctantly going to pass him over.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Scoop. I didn't seen what we saw in the Guineas
in terms of ability that any questions. I don't think
there's over the cast giving you quick and into the
dip handle a plum. Is it a with a plot even?
Is it just simply a question of stamina with him?
Is that the older thing he's got to answer?

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Yeah? Absolutely, he he's got the best form. Like you say,
I think he's well balanced. I think he'll be found
around Epsom, But stamina is a major question mark with him.
You know, bad Justify out of a high chapel mayre.
On that basis, you might think, oh, well, he's got
a good chance of staying. But when you dig deep
into his pedigree, it's all mile it's all a Miles's pedigree.

(12:20):
And just looking at the guineas, I mean, he had
too many gears for Field of Gold and he's come
out at the current and done what he's done in
the style of a real top class miler. He's got
to be a miler for me. Ruling a stretch ten
but a mile and a half at Epsom, I think
it asked such a different question for a horse that

(12:41):
has got the speed to do what he did at
new Market, and we've seen it.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
We've seen the.

Speaker 4 (12:45):
Guineas and the Diver won by the same horse over
the years, but we've seen it won by horses who've
got away with it in the Guineas, they didn't get
away with it Epsom they got away with it over
a mile, the likes of Camelot and See the Stars.
I don't think you can do it the other way around.
And if you do do it the other way around,
you've got to be very very special. So for me,
at the price is I'll be taking him on. I
just yeah, I think he's too quick to win a derby, David.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Let's talk about the ground that there's rain forecast, has
the chance that scoops forty overs by the three pole
as well. But if the rain does arrive, it does
get on the easy side. Will that be a concern
for you for ruding cop Yeah.

Speaker 6 (13:22):
I think obviously anything that is going to put the
emphasis more on stammina than speed at the trip is
going to be a negative for his chance. He I mean,
he did win his maiden on good to soft ground,
so I don't think the ground itself would be an issue,
but the emphasis on stamminer in the ground perhaps would be.
I think it's very difficult to have a strong opinion

(13:42):
on whether it'll It's easy to have an opinion. It's
whether you prove right or not, I guess, but I mean,
you know, he's obviously by justifies and he who triple
croround winner won over the Belmont over a mile and
a half side City of Troy last year, and the
damn she's by high shat for our self, who's obviously
a Derby winner. So I think, you know, you can

(14:03):
look at the pedigree and make a case for how
he might stay. I think if he does stay, he
is the one that is the potential superstar in this field,
isn't it because of what we saw him do over
a mile. If he can do that over a mile
and a half, then you know the world is his oyster. Really,
So in terms of the kind of performance that I

(14:24):
would love to see in the Derby, he's the one
that I would really love to see come and win
the race because he could go on and have a
great season if he does. But at the price given,
Like you say about the ground placing an emphasis on Stammina,
my hunch is that he might just be running on
empty in the closing stages.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
Billy potentially not that he's he s a virus to
William Buwick eye. Then where you wanted to sit on
the horse with the last two folongs a being that
dealt with him.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
Absolutely. He's John seven, so I suppose he has options there.

Speaker 5 (14:53):
But you'd have to think already that if you want
to get Ruling Court beaten, the one way to do
it is in sure that it's a weather or race.
He is a class act, and I echo Ed's concerns
about the fact that this is possibly a bit of
an after thought, like the Guineas was certainly the main
plan with him, and I didn't think prior to the
Guineas that he was going to run the Derby even

(15:13):
so I'd have slight concerns there. But yes, if you
want to get him beaten, make sure it's a well
run race. So I would be claver guessed if, for example,
Lambourne wasn't up near the front of the race. You've
got the two Charlie Johnson horses and the race they'd
like to go forward, So I think it will be
well run and his stamina will be tested to the
absolute limit. So if there are any doubts about it whatsoever,

(15:34):
they will be found out. Like you said, tough ask
for William Buick. I mean, I'm not sure you'd want
anyone else in that position. He's righting at the top
of his game at the moment.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
But you know, even even he can't do.

Speaker 5 (15:46):
Much about it if the ars doesn't day, So it
is a massive concern. He is a class act. But yeah,
it would kind of put me off him slightly.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
As well for a race like this, just a guess
on opening will he stay Billy Nash just building can't
get home with that ab No.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
Would be my Yeah, that would be my inkling.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Anyway, there's the social media clips orted if it wins scoop,
we'll get that one ready. They there is a strong
British challenge, just like Childing. It's a very strong challenge.
We've got Ray Beckett's got two in there. David there's
got the Dante in the products and he's got a
horse and TWN helped gardens with the typhone number. Then
they keep tapping the nose in the the office that

(16:25):
we were Talle helped Gardens. He's back up there on ratings,
he is.

Speaker 6 (16:29):
Yeah, Delaquat who beat him narrowly in the autumn Steakes,
I think any beating by a neck or so, didn't
he and we don't think that Delaquer has had to
improve to do what he's done in two starts in
the spring, so yes, stand up Gordon's Autome stakes, so
one brings him right into us, I think, and when
you look at his pedigree, you'd have no problems to

(16:52):
see him go over a mile and a half. And
it's obviously soft ground in the Autumn stakes, so any
kind of rain that is going to come, he's not
going to cause him any problems. I think if he's
one of them that I think it's quite difficult to
assess in terms of his price because he's had such
an unconventional prep and you know, I dare say something

(17:15):
hasn't been one hundred percent right with him. For them
to end up having to run him at the end
of May in a mile race, it was specially put
on for him. But if he had had the opportunity
to have a normal prep, I think he might well
have shown even more than what he did at Salisbury.
So I think he's a really interesting horse. I think
obviously they're representing different owners, but I think the fact

(17:37):
that race Beckett's got pride of arras in here and
also was as keen to run stand at Gardens and
this has been the plan with him for a long time.
So it does make you think that from last autumn
onwards they've always seen him as a potential Derby horse.
And when you think of the strength and depth of
the race Beckett two year olds into three year olds
this year, I think that is potentially pretty significant.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
And I keep watching the Dante people watch you like
in winter, trying to read into that.

Speaker 6 (18:04):
Well.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
The more I watch it, while I can't say anything.
Beaten by Pride of Others finished in front of him
at EPSOM, how deals it? Oh?

Speaker 1 (18:11):
I backed Damaster straight afterwards. Aldy, he's about the same
price now as he was then mine. But I thought
damisus demisis he's a giant in Greek mythology. I think
he could be a giant over a mile and a half.
I like those front two from the Dantee, I really do.
They're my idea of the one too. I'm not totally
convinced about the order it will be in. I think

(18:34):
Pride of ARUs is the result the Derby should want,
EPSOM should want, Jockey Club should want ITV should want.
It's exactly the kind of result the Derby needs already
to show that you don't have to be a powerhouse
to win the Derby. Dreams can come true admissibly a
wealthy owner breeder, but an owner breeder with four mayors
and five or six horses in training.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
So it's a nice story.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
Her husband is very ill in a care home, and
it would just it's just the kind of thing that
Derby needs. In my opinion and pride of Arras, I
think would be a great result for any everyone if
he could win it. I can't see why he couldn't.
He again got a little bit buzzy that you're keep
a close eye on him for the pre limbs, but
he'll have learnt an awful lot from that. And I
thought it was mightily impressive. And I thought in the

(19:20):
race at York that damaged a smack de horses just
going to absolutely relish a mile and a half at Epsoence.
So I really like those two lady. They are my
one two in the In the race itself, I think
is there a better trainer in Britain than Ralph? At
the minute Rayth Sorry at the minute, I wouldn't say so.
I think he's the best trainer in Britain, art winning
trainer in the right hands should be a shorter price.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
Pride of Arris in my opinion, and.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
I'm going to do the reverse exact to Audi because
I do think the gods that source is going to
run a big.

Speaker 4 (19:48):
Races playing with fire on this podcast? Is its compared
to ballydal has to lands Armstrong and now it's called
ray forral One was a slipper time to be fair.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
Well, there would be an edit. There will be no
editing this podcast.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
School be careful.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
Oh yeah, neighbors, scoop, what do you make of that
dancing and the what do you make it? Tell out? God?
What's the pick of the back?

Speaker 4 (20:11):
It's a strong hand for for for Rafe, He's it
seems a matter of time to me before he wins
the Derby. He's obviously got a great Oaks record and
he's gone close in the Derby with Westover and he's
got a really strong hand this year, and I think
both of them have got excellent chances. It's the Dancy Farm.
They went slow early and there was about six in

(20:33):
with a chance for furl on out and he could
pick holes in it for that reason. But I was
really impressed with the way Pride of Arris put the
race to bed on the far side, and he was
sort of he's down near the line, wasn't he? And
he had plenty in hand and it was only his
second start, and I think there's just so much more
to come from him. So he's clear number one for me,

(20:53):
for Beckett, and I think he's got He's got an
excellent chances, obviously related to a couple of horses who've
one around Epsom, and you would think the track would
be ideal for him. He won't mind any rain and
I think he'll stay, so he's really really solid for me,
Pride of Arris. In fact, I would probably have him
as favorite, giving everything we've discussed so far. In terms

(21:14):
of the ballot, door O horse has one from sixteen, Scoop,
is that a concern. I don't think sixteen's a concern,
even the line of winter out in nineteen that I
think you'd rather be that way than install one or two.
I know we've had a couple of winners from one recently,
but they were excellent horses and excellent rides. I think
you can get covered from out there and get a
good position pretty quickly, so I don't think a wide

(21:36):
draws too much of a negative at all. And yeah,
I think Pride of Arius really solid. Standout Gardens. He's
got a very different profile, hasn't he and a big
jump up in trip he's bred for it. He's a
bit of a wild card. But I think that price
discrepancy with della Quarry's wrong. I think that might tighten
up a bit between the two between now and post time.

(21:58):
But yeah, Stronghand for race and Pride Pride of Arris
big chance over the winter.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
I think it's fair to say that Stanhope Gardens was
looked like he was going to be the Beckett number one,
but even at the Dante, even as late as the Dante.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
They still doubted whether they could get him there. It's
obviously been a real hurry to get him.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
To the Derby, which is an ideal.

Speaker 6 (22:17):
Just going back to the drawer, I think once you
start going to like fifteen and upwards and people are saying, oh,
there's not been many winners from there, it's because how
many derbies are fifteen or more runners?

Speaker 4 (22:28):
You know, obviously there's always.

Speaker 6 (22:30):
A stall two, a stall one, a stall three, there's
not always a stall fifteen, still sixteen et cetera. So
I think you know you've got to bear that in
mind when you're saying, oh, there's not too many horses that.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
Have been winning from out why breaking news news, breaking news, ryo,
Colin Key the line in winter, Oh that's the line
in winter, don't you, billy?

Speaker 3 (22:56):
What's that on the lion?

Speaker 2 (22:58):
That's it.

Speaker 4 (22:59):
That's a big puzz if the linebacker is well.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
Colin Kane hasn't won a Derby yet, but watch the space.
This could be his year.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
There you go, I'll look at him. Look how happy
they had now those liars, the tame liar Bill are
your thoughts on the dancing damasis? I'm quite sure that's
how you pronounced the great giant. I'd be worried about him.
Off the bride, let's sand down and yah, he went left,
he wandered around it did it might just be greenness,
but he's gonna have to have learned an awful lot
to cot with on the bits of evidence off the

(23:27):
bride of those two tracks, very.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
Possible, And take your point. I thought overall it the dance,
it was a very good race.

Speaker 5 (23:33):
It looked wide open beforehand, and you'd have to say
it's thrown up a whole pile of potentially very good horses.
The winner was really good on the day, showed a
great tourn of foot. Damasus I thought ran perfectly well.
I was slightly disappointed with him at sand Down the
time before, but it was a nice step forward and
he'd be It's entirely possible he'd step forward again. The
mile and a half should suit him, and like I said,

(23:56):
it looked a good race on the day. It was
a lot of the princes are coming here again, which
is always a good sign. And yeah, it's like I
don't think there's I think the form will work out.
Night Walker was another one that that seemed to work
to run quite nicely on the day. But as it said,
there's you know, Pride of ARUs because only a second

(24:16):
starter was a it was a big improvement for him.

Speaker 3 (24:18):
So there's it's not certain that any of the ones
in behind will beat him.

Speaker 5 (24:24):
But like I said, the line in Winter I think
will command a good bit of hoping you'll comand a
good from the run.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
I'm gonna stick with him, but I have a lot
of respect for Pride of Rus. I think he's gonna
take a lot of beating well.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
We've got heads one, two, three, we've got Pride of Us,
Demsius and Lambond have callt him a different name the
second time there. That sads one to think battling for one,
two or three for you for the derby.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
Place, yeahs the Lion in winter and we often see
one at a big price placed at Epsom and my
out of the ballpat one is Tuscan Hills for Raphael Frere.
He ran in the dancing as well, and he'll love
every drop of rain that falls at them over the

(25:07):
next few days. Soft grounming at Ponti late as a
two year old, and I thought he ran all right
in the dancy.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
He made a.

Speaker 4 (25:16):
Striking move from about four out to get within the
neck of the lead at the furlong polland just tired
in the closing stage. But that was his first run,
first run back. I think he can come on from that.
And we've seen Amo hit the board in the Derby
with a couple of big price ones out with King
of Steel Majo Star, and he could be another one,

(25:38):
particularly if the rain gets into the ground. So sixty
six to one or something like that. Tuscan Hills for
the three.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
There you go. It's his six to one in scopes
to make dinner y'l one two three starts off.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
I'm fascinated by mid Deck.

Speaker 5 (25:52):
I'm not going to put him in the one, two
and three because I don't know enough above his French
form already to tip him. But I think he's a
really interesting contender and he certainly adds to the race
to me my one two to three. I'm gonna stick
with the Lion in winter. Colin Kean is definitely not
a negative, so I'm gonna stick with him. I think
probably Artis will be hard to beat, but a little
bit like Scoop, I'm going for an outsider to fill
the three, and I'm going to go for Tennessee stud

(26:13):
of Joseph O'Brien's. He's a Group one winner from last
year and now it was probably the softest Group one
there was ever run. There was only three runners in it,
but it was a mind a quarter on soft ground
in Saint lou And I think that tells you loads
about this horse.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
I think he's a guaranteed stare. He really wants a
more and a half.

Speaker 5 (26:29):
This filly he wanted made another nine four uns last year,
so he's certain to stay. He was very easy to
back on his reappearance in the lepers Down Derby Trial
and the way the race was run was no good
to him. Certainly that test the speed wouldn't have suited
him at all. So I'm hoping he'll have come forward.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
A good bit from that. He'll definitely stay more than
a half.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
I think they'll ride him quite close to the pace
and I could see him certainly outrunning his ads a
fifty to one.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
I think he'll give you a good run for your money.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
What's the one?

Speaker 3 (26:54):
Two three? There?

Speaker 4 (26:55):
Again?

Speaker 2 (26:55):
Very sorry?

Speaker 3 (26:56):
The Lion in Winter Tennessee stud.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
British are British Medalist for billar There must be a
good cold is by their last DJ you are one,
two or three?

Speaker 6 (27:08):
Yeah, I'm pretty keen on pride of Arris. Think you know,
when you look at those two performances, the sand Down
win and obviously the Dante, both of them visually really impressive.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
You know, you just can't knock cur what he's done.

Speaker 6 (27:23):
I always think the Dante it's like that perfect blend
in terms of it's always a really good race, so
it ticks a lot of boxes in terms of it
being quality form, but it also gives you a better
chance of staying the trip than when you've got the
really good horses that are coming out of the Guineas
that obviously have the stamina. It's proven that's very much

(27:44):
the case here, So Pride of Arras I think will
go really close. I do like stand up gardens as well,
at a price. And I would also put a bit
of a shout out to the French horse, who I
think it's really interesting that they've decided to supplement him,
and he just looks a real big pousehol thing that
it looks like they're going to make plenty of use
of him if they ride him in the same way

(28:05):
as what they did at Shanty and san Clude last time,
and in the way that you like to have your
horses spread about and keep your options open.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
Instead of our tech.

Speaker 6 (28:14):
One from the front in Midac and Pride of Rus
to come from the back as well, so all options covered.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
I think, what about you.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
Well, I like Pride of Ours. I think Ruling Court
might just get away, but I don't think he's going
to stay to where I can see him in the fame,
and I think Lambond will be the frame as well,
but pride of ours to win the Bedford Darby for
rave Beckett Well want gold Ralph and I shall celebrate
with him afterwards. I just him in the press conference
looking forward to that. We've got the best thread the
Oaks on Friday, and then go to post change. We've

(28:46):
got the poster girl and this is does it flower?
Loads of ones extra name but classic winner again stepped
up in trips similar to Ruling Court. Though we just
don't know stammarda whas we don't. I think she could
be brilliant over ten.

Speaker 3 (29:00):
Not sure, just not.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
I'm convinced she's much much, much the best over ten.
I mean, when when the horses come into the paddacord,
it almost looks unfair. I mean, she's so big compared
to the others. She's a tank.

Speaker 3 (29:12):
Shouldn't really call a female a tank, but she is.

Speaker 4 (29:14):
I mean, she's that newmarket. It was like, oh my god,
compared to the others.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
And she won that day and you thought I step
up A trip's definitely going to suit her, because all
she does is just grind and grind and grind. I'd
be loath to oppose her, but when I want to
back her at six to four over a.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
Month and a half.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
I'm not sure.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
I'm not sure, but.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
She's going to be mighty difficult to beat in her class,
and I think she is different class than the rest.
I just think her class might get her home.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
David, what did you make of it in this performance?
So what do you make of a prospective of getting
a mile and a.

Speaker 6 (29:47):
Half Guinney's performance? I think was good. Looked a pretty
good race since she was pretty authoritative, and the film
has begun to work out well. But I don't really
like her as a mile and a half Philly the
pedigree the Dan promised him run. She ran third in
the Mooseadora. I think she pulled hard that day and
they decided after that they'd go back to the Coronation

(30:09):
with her. I think she ran over a mile and
a half once. It was in the phillies of Meres,
and I think she was a fifty to one chance.
Didn't show anything that day, so I don't think it
was necessarily the trip that beta them, But you know,
she certainly wasn't a mile and a half Philly. And
you look at Night of Thunder as well, and he's
had thirty three horses at time form have rated one

(30:32):
hundred and ten or higher, and of those, only three
of them have stayed a mile and a half thunder Kissed,
Global Storm and thunder Us.

Speaker 4 (30:41):
I think thunder Us actually ran in the derby.

Speaker 6 (30:43):
So I just think, you know, we've seen so many
knights thunder He has a lot of good horses, but
very few good horses over a mile and a half,
So I think there's a lot of things that she's
got to work against if she is to stay a
mile and a half and around six to four. When
you look at some of these that she's taking on,
that much more likely to stay in mine and a half,

(31:05):
even though they don't have such good form yet, I
think there's reasons why they'll take a step forward. So
I think taking on Desert Flower at six to four
is a pretty easy decision to make, and.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
I'd imagine she's a filling you'll be looking to take
on as well skip.

Speaker 5 (31:19):
She is.

Speaker 4 (31:20):
Yeah, it's just that stammina question mark combined with the price,
combined with a bunch of phillies against her that look
like they might improve at a mile and a half,
I think it's quite an easy decision for my style
of punting. Certainly, I think she gives a chance her
self a chance of staying because she seems pretty relaxed
and straightforward, and over a mile she's been absolutely fine.

(31:42):
But it's a completely different kettle of fish settling well
over a mile and a half and it's just too
big a question mark for me at six to four.
So yeah, class Philly, like hair Cow, it's here over
ten and back at a mile I would think later
in the season, but yeah, not for me in the Oaks.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
I've just got slight reservation out of the track with
her as well been and that they said twice in
the Finished Mind and in the Guineas shot a little
bit lost about in the dep and it was when
hit the rising ground that she came around. And I'm
not confined she's going to be at the salter to EPSOM.

Speaker 4 (32:13):
I suppose you.

Speaker 5 (32:14):
Could say that about literally everything in the in the
field or I don't think anything has has formed EPSOM before,
so it's going to be new to all of them.
A lot of them are quite inexperienced. So yeah, that's
a concern. To be honest, I'm gonna fly in the
face of what the lads have said here and I
think she wins day, and I think she'll win. To
be honest, I think she's a class above these phillies. Now,
yes she has been, she'd been able to run to

(32:36):
her level because she's been running in a better race
than some of these. But I just like the way
she goes through her race. She saw them mile really
well last year, which to me is always a good
indication of whether a horse will stay fur there as
a three year old.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
And she got a mile as strongly last year. She
was going away at the end of the Guineas. She
had a lovely relaxed way of racing.

Speaker 4 (32:53):
Yes, the track is a slight concern, but I just
don't know how strong the opposition is.

Speaker 5 (32:59):
And I think, just even looking at time from raising
she has with the exception of Whirl, she has a
lot to spare over the others, and I think she's
the one.

Speaker 3 (33:08):
Look.

Speaker 5 (33:08):
I think at sixty four she's a classic winner up
against horses that aren't really proven at this level, so
she will do For me, I think she's the one
to beat, and I think she's got a good chance
to get in the trip.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
So yeah, I'm happy to stick with her here.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
To be honest, billy, we've got three from Ballet Doyle,
and we've got jockeys for two of them that I
can see. Ryan All on Minie Hawk, Colin Keane on Giselle,
nobody on Well my own selection, which Moody bigs volumes.
What's the pick of the ballet Diyal three for you?

Speaker 5 (33:36):
Well, first of all, I want to just refer to
quotes that Aiden made yesterday and he had a media
zoom called yesterday and I thought it was very pal
He said about jockeys, he said, Ryan will always ride
the horse he thinks has the best chance.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
That's always been the way, regardless, and that's the way
it has to be. And his very next line was
Ryan rides the horse we think is going to win.
So you can take up your own mind there.

Speaker 5 (34:01):
Who decides what at bally Dial anyway, I'm not surprised
he writes Mini Hawk, because they have been you know,
they've been very big on Mini Hawk for a while.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
But looking at her farm, she has loads to prove. Now.
She's a very well bred Philly.

Speaker 5 (34:14):
She's by Frankly, she cost one point eight five millions
a year when she's half sister the Kingman. So really
bred Philly. She was impressive for Chester, but her form
is a long way below what the likes of Desert
Flower has achieved. I would agree with you from what
we've seen on the track, World is the best of
the bally by the trio.

Speaker 3 (34:33):
She's just one of those ones.

Speaker 5 (34:34):
She reminded me a little bit of Content last year
in that she just seems to get better with racing.
She's very tough, very good chance that she'll stay. She
was impressive in the Musidora, so yeah, I think she's
probably the pick of the bally Dying throo for me.
Giselle is another one that's been a bit of a
talking horse, but she missed most of the last season.
She was behind her in the group three at the

(34:54):
court towards the back end, and we didn't really learn
anything from the Linfield Loakes trial except that the mind
I should be well.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
Within her range.

Speaker 5 (35:01):
But of the three, I think World has depicted them
from me, even though clearly Ryan Moore or Belly don't
think otherways.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
Scoop you of a man at Chester? Did you see
many hawk and think there's the oaks on it?

Speaker 3 (35:14):
So many Hawk?

Speaker 4 (35:15):
I thought I was the reason why I was impressed
with her at Chester was it was the first start
of the season and I think expectations I thought she
went off thirteen to eight. I think in terms of
the standard of performance there were they were fairly low.
They just wanted to get a win out of her
and move on from there, and that's exactly what they got.
Like Billy says, she's plenty to find on the figures.

(35:39):
I like Gizelle out of the three. I just think
she could have a bit of star quality. Fascinated to
see Colin Keen on her. She looks a real tricky
ride to get her settled in the early stages, but
I loved her. Damn newspaper of record remember her winning
at the Breeders' Cup, And I do think, yeah, I
do think she's got a bit of star quality. But

(36:01):
none of the ballet dial tree for me and the Oaks,
but of the three looking forward to seeing she's hell and.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
Giselle's horse that we had to put all actually people
tapping the nose and I's got one better than the
longte and on the track it was Giselle. We were told,
did you see it off at Lingfield? In that til
to think she might live up to the hype one day.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
Saw plenty of Linkfield to say, I want to take
her on in the oaks pretty that way. You're so
right to remember bedtime story fairy Godmother. We kept there, No, no, no, no,
that's one better at home. And I thought it was
the supermodel. Not it's a ballet, isn't.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
It, Giselle?

Speaker 2 (36:32):
Yeah, it's a ballet.

Speaker 3 (36:33):
I couldn't have her, scoop.

Speaker 1 (36:34):
I'm afraid after being I was at Linkfield that they
couldn't you give her half a chance? That Ryan Moore
was on her, she obviously takes an awful lot of knowing.
I can't see her settling at Epsom. I think she'll
be very, very free in a small field. She wouldn't
be for me a world.

Speaker 4 (36:48):
When they come into the paddock, you won't give her
a hope.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
And hell, when you see desert Flower against World, you'll
just think it's a mismatch.

Speaker 4 (36:54):
They shouldn't even be competing against each other. She's she's
nothing to look at well, but she was very good
in the Musidora. But I thought many Hawk was much
the most impressive, probably the one I would have taken
out of certainly all the trials.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
At Chester, and I think she's very straightforward and very
good and I'd be amazed if she's not right in
the mix and Ryan Moore choosing her or being told
to ride her, whichever it is. Billy is the final
piece of that jig, so I think she's much the
best of the bally Doll three.

Speaker 2 (37:21):
For me, I just want to find somebody to ride
work at this stay, she'll jockey. The next time, David,
you were at Ark, I was going to taken with
the world. What did you make of her? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (37:31):
I thought she was really impressive, and you know, sort
of similar to how we talk about the Dancy. The
Musa d'ories obviously stands up historically as a really good trial.
I think, you know, Bali Doyle win it with Snowfall
a few years back. Solt sister completed the double a
couple of years ago. And I think world ticks a
lot of boxes, particularly when look at the price and

(37:51):
see because of the jockey bookings that she's around seven
to one. I think and just think that looks to
underestimate a chance. And I know they were talking straight
after that she might not come to epsom might prefer
to go to France. For the prijer Dianne. But she
is obviously here. So if you're back in now, you're
not going to lose your money, well you might lose
your money. At least you're going to get a run

(38:13):
for your money at this stage. So I think I
think world ticks more than enough boxes to make her
worth back in at around seven to one.

Speaker 2 (38:23):
Right, school, I'm gonna let you go first with this.
I've got out the team fourth in the Guineas on
only a second career start for Shadwell. And so you've
been to a revoir lots of people liking her from
Ape Beckett for the Family of Luck. Here goes the
best of the rest for you and your Betford Oaks one,
two three.

Speaker 4 (38:39):
Okay, well let's go with revoir for raf Beckett should
be a strong each way fancy for me, Dave, I
really fancy her to run a big race. She's by
French Dabby Win, a study of man who's personally I
really like special over a mile and a half. Like
you say, she's from the family of luck here who
Red Beckett won the Oaks with and strikingly similar profile

(38:59):
to that. They're coming into this race. So she won
a back end Maiden over a mile and then was
second in a trial. I think it was the Lynfield trial.
Look here was second in before coming on to win
the Oaks and Revoir very similar one at Nottingham over
a mile at two. Look impressed me at Newbury in
that trial that killing Queen won at ed Walker's Philly

(39:22):
last time.

Speaker 3 (39:23):
Not too much.

Speaker 4 (39:24):
Expected that there she went off ten to one. She
ran green, but she ran on strongly and I think
she's definitely going to reverse that form and have a
massive say here. So yeah, Revoir for me in the Oaks,
and we'll go with Giselle and Desert Flower to complete
the three.

Speaker 2 (39:40):
There you go, Chamblain your Betford Oaks one, two or three.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
I think I'm going to stick with Desert Flower. You know,
I'm just going to take that risk. I'm going to
take that risk Desert Flower to beat Minni Hawk and Albertin.
I liked Elbertin before during and offer the Guineas, and
I think she could be a big improvement. So Desert
Flower I'll take the risk, second, Mini Hawk, third Alberte.

Speaker 2 (40:03):
What I like give this concert stuck on the flank
as well for one, So experience isn't I thought iought
it was a good run from Alberte DJ are one
two three.

Speaker 6 (40:10):
Actually see World going pretty close to making all. I
think she'll be bang up there throughout. Minihawk will push
it close all the time, and I can see Desert
Flower weakening into third as well. So World to beat
Mini Hawk and Desert Flower.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
Billion Ash. This is a we've got a lot of
with a fan fare a British tip for billion ash
shot put at timestamp on this twelve fourteen, on the
fourth of due five billion ash shot one two three
for the betfread Elks place.

Speaker 5 (40:39):
Well, there was some impressive flip flopping the chamberlain, there
were the goal but I can I can see the.

Speaker 3 (40:44):
Race going very similar to the whole DJ called it.
Whorld will make the running.

Speaker 5 (40:48):
Mini Hawk would be close to her, but I think
Desert flooring past the two of them at the final
felun and that's the way I think they'll come home.

Speaker 2 (40:54):
Right. So now we've also got on flat day the
other group won the bet thread Culbination Cup and this
is this is really good Venewal, isn't it. Mate. So
in a lot of ways about the fact that Calander
Gann's coming over from front.

Speaker 1 (41:06):
Yeah, we've had some below par renewals something we have
very small fields in recent years. I did think a
few weeks ago this might be the race of the season.
I thought it might actually be even better than it is.

Speaker 4 (41:16):
But it is good.

Speaker 1 (41:16):
They've held their ground a number of them, and having
Colandigan is really cool. I'm really exciting. We've got Johnny
Murder with us for the two days lading on ITV
with the Aga Khan link, so there's a lot of
chances to go our memory lane, all the great horses
they've had, the five Darby Winds and so on, and
having coland Agan had some real star quality on the Friday.
So yes, a race i'm looking forward to for me
is much the best. Is need to coin a Mark

(41:38):
Johnson phrase here. Much speedier than the rest of these.
I cannot believe even Billy could make a case for
jan Brogo after what we saw last time. And then
Giavolotto's very admirable.

Speaker 3 (41:49):
Is this his trip?

Speaker 4 (41:49):
It might be, and then the rest of them are
a decent but caland Agan should be much too quick
for these.

Speaker 2 (41:56):
I'd like to think, David, we all know you're a
big Calandergan three seconds X to his name. Now you
want to get his head back in front of It's
just the perfect opportunity to do so it is.

Speaker 4 (42:07):
Isn't it.

Speaker 6 (42:07):
And that's the thing. It's like I keep telling people
it is pretty much as good as City as Troy,
City of Troy, but he keeps getting beaten, so you
know the excuses will be pretty thin on the ground
if he's beaten in this this race, isn't it? Because
you know, you look at the form of that Judmont International,
even running in the Champion States last year. This looks

(42:30):
it's an interesting group one, but it's not a bona
fide the top quality running of a group one? Is
it in the same way as what the King George is?
So yeah, I'll be disappointed if Callandergan is beaten here
for sure.

Speaker 2 (42:43):
It should be a world Hoodwids believe there's continuous and
will go forward with him. For young Vogel, what do
you think of the Bady Doyle two?

Speaker 3 (42:51):
A continuous spirital for him?

Speaker 5 (42:53):
I mean, former Classic winner who has been relegated to
the role of pacemaker in recent times and he's not
very good, missed the break totally the last day, so
he will eventually get to the front. But yeah, they
hope will be that he'll try and set it up
for Ambroidle. But as I said, I mean you couldn't
back them Bridle with any sort of confidence after his
antics at the corner of the last time, we were

(43:15):
quite happy to given the benefit of the doubt. Last
year already, he started late, got better as the year
went on, and even though he looked a bit awkward
in a few races, it was easy to put it
down to greenness, and he was still managing to win
those races. But I think that ship has sailed now,
and after the way he performed at the cord of
the last day, he looked a really, really difficult ride.
There's some mitigation the factors a mind and a quarter

(43:37):
which is too short for him, but he was giving
Ryan no help whatsoever at the cor hanging badly to
his right. And if he does something similar to Epsom
then it's just going to be a disaster. Articular, the
step back to a mine and a half will suit him,
But on all known form, he has a lot to
go to live up to Calland again. And I can't
see Caland again beaten in this race.

Speaker 3 (43:55):
It looks. It looks his for the taking to me, Scooper.

Speaker 2 (43:59):
You got to me and the Ammo silks for the
first time. Jokes would have from La said, Gee Volotto,
for Oshi Murphy, Mirco Botty, what's the big dangers to
Calandagan for you?

Speaker 4 (44:09):
I think it's Giavolotto. I think if there's a horse
to beat him, it's Marco Botti's horse. I mean, he's
run over mal and half three times in his life,
and he won the Princess of Wales is at Newmarket
by over three lens. He won in shot in the
Hong Kong vas by over two lens, and then he
was beating in the Shema Classic last time with Kalandergan
finishing five lengths ahead of him. But that day they

(44:30):
went a right crawl and it turned into a sprint,
and that one suit giav a lot two We know
days further. He's obviously come from the cup races mal
and six sort of races at the arch et cetera.
So I think he wants a strongly run mall and
a half and in that scenario, I think he can
put it up to the French horse. Now this should
go quick. You've got to me, he will go forward.
You would think ancient wisdom and the ballad or horses,

(44:51):
so he could be settled nicely for him, and yeah,
he'd be the one.

Speaker 2 (44:55):
I think Calandergan has to fear. That's the big grace. Now,
I would say, sometimes we'll go about five or six minutes.
Please just give us a sort of guide to the
three year old dash go through the top of a
horseboy horse guide way. You'd like to see them all drawn.
But joking apart, they're the three great ones. Scub. Not
asking you for tips, but I know you love the handicaps.
Over the two days as well. You find plenty of

(45:16):
punting opportunities, many of them trained by Andrew Baldens that.

Speaker 4 (45:21):
I'm sure Andrew Balden will have a strong team at
epsom Dave. He always does, so will Shaker Bade. He
has got a magnificent strike rate at this meeting. I
think it's nearing forty percent something like that. Honestly, it's
an incredible strike rate. And including in the handicaps, he's
got one running on Friday Botanical for George Bowie. He's

(45:45):
got a fantastic chance. He I think he was second
at York last summer in the John Smith's Cup off
a very similar Mark moved from Roger veriin to George Bowie.
Since then he's got Ryan Mark books, he's got cheap
pieces and he's backing handicapped company for the first time
since Yark. And the only thing is I think he's
been pretty well found in the market. But I can
absolutely see why. I think botanical has been laid out

(46:07):
for this.

Speaker 2 (46:08):
Just something especially have anything but thank you skill pay
could do was way lord and is riding well. My
concern that they're going to go to jockey or breaking
just cannot keep up, cannot keep up. At last word
to you, there's not to talk about the Derby and
its position in the national psidechi et cetera, et cetera.
If you had imagine want to change one thing with it,
If you could do one thing for Derby Day, it

(46:30):
might give it a bit more bizazz, even though do
not think it needs it.

Speaker 1 (46:33):
What would it be fill the hill, find a way
to fill the hill, connect connect with the community. I
would have a massive, great concert on the Thursday night,
get people engaged with Epsham and incentivize people that come racing.
It says awesome day out. It's an amazing place, the
most ridiculous race course you'll ever see in your life.

Speaker 4 (46:53):
And I defy any family or anyone to come and
not enjoy themselves at EPSOM.

Speaker 1 (46:59):
There's also different options from the top hat and tails
in what everything enclosure is called, all the way through
to free on the hill. It's got to be packed
already for that magic to come back again. That's got
to et some Jim Allen and Brian the chairman, there's
who's awesome.

Speaker 3 (47:12):
He's such a good guy.

Speaker 1 (47:14):
They've got to find a way to pack that hill
and make the Derby look like a Derby again, and
then you can roll from there. And from an ITV
point of view, you look at those races. I know
Scoot might like those dashes, but it's not the most
high quality card you're ever going to see building up
for the Derby, is it?

Speaker 3 (47:30):
In truth?

Speaker 4 (47:31):
And again I would I would have a play around
with it, and I'd have a bigger Saturday if you could.

Speaker 1 (47:36):
And the most important thing is to pack out, pack
out the racecourse and engage with some like Grand National
does with Liverpool and other sporting events do with the
local community. That I've always said that's the key to
a successful event.

Speaker 2 (47:51):
It's good to me and you can pack the hill
and look good on a T shirt as well.

Speaker 5 (47:55):
I do.

Speaker 2 (47:55):
I have a campaign, absolutely, but I don't know in America.

Speaker 4 (48:00):
Question is how do you do that?

Speaker 3 (48:01):
How do you do that?

Speaker 1 (48:02):
I would get people there, probably on a Thursday night
and get a real big artist to come and play,
and incentive by people to come back at the next
up of the day, show how magic the place is,
because it is very very special.

Speaker 2 (48:13):
Who would you choose as a musician, Scoop, it would
be our music apt for the Thursday night Springsteen. That's
what GC singing as one of these is not on
the podcast. I went to see Springsteen that caught live
a couple of weeks ago. First perst I saw that
was GC because I believe we nearly did on the
spot podcast, but we don't have any recording equipment. But

(48:36):
there you go. Well time has beaten, does it won't
do some so much for to two clocking days ahead,
don't forget live on ITV with Ed and the team,
Thanks to add to then to Billy and to David,
and we have to wait for very long for our
next podcast. We're back in just over a week, looking
ahead to Riolas Gott and all the treats at laon
store
