Speaker 1 (02:22):
Yeah, well I only have that. Wasn't that the George Foreman?
Oh that's right? Uh, I don't know that doesn't rumble somewhere.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
I'm not a boxing guy, so I don't know.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Steve Raish when we need him gleaning over the new
cord we're about to give him so he can keep
his podcast. I need this guy eat my horse out there.
Anytime I could keep a horse roll, I gotta make
sure I feed him a little bit of Hey Steve,
if you're watching, listen, it's okay, right, So what we're
gonna get going, I'm gonna be all over the map tonight.
We're gonna start off with a Jamel Hill. It's like

(02:53):
Britney Grinder's Russian entertainment is a reason the WNBA should
increase pay. All right, Jacob, what are your u.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Oh god, they just said Jamil Hill. My eyes rolled.
But but here's the thing, no, because in the end
it is about what I mean, there's one lady that
deserves and possibly Becker's in the future, that deserves that
kind of pay if they get to theirs, maybe angel

(03:22):
rees of her shoes go, you know, and if they
get to know. But there are so few that are
bringing in the money that you would get for ratings
or any of that kind of stuff that deserve the money.
The whole thing that I say all the time is whatsoever,
when we saw those t shirts saying pay us what
you owe us, it should have been. It should have been.

(03:44):
Caitlin paid me what you owe me. In the back
of everybody else, you're saying, thank her. It's but it's
just the truth. It's just the truth though. But and
I and I like what the WNBA is starting to do.
You know, they're starting to spend money to try to
promote the league. But no, again, no, you still have
to be able to bring money back in, and they're not.
There's still the NBA is still losing money off them.

(04:06):
They're probably gonna lose it this year, knowing that Caitlyn
hasn't played much, she's been injured, so it's so it's
like they're gonna lose money again unfortunately. But no, they
don't deserve that.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
I'm candy.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Do I want to see women get paid more? Of
course I do, But at what expense? Do we want
the league to fold because we can't afford you know,
we're playing the players and we're not taking in the revenue. No,
I don't want it to fold. Would I like to
see more? Of course I would like to see more,
But they have to draw more in order to get

(04:43):
paid more. So they just gotta they gotta have more people,
more ladies, drawing fans in and selling more, whether it
be shoes, whether it be whatever it be they needed.
They need to market their product like the NFL markets

(05:04):
their product, because if they did that, they would be
able to get paid more.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
Georgia, Well, I agree that they do deserve.

Speaker 6 (05:16):
An increase, but that's always easier said than done. Like
Candy just stated, I mean, you know, and Jacob, the
league is subsidizing and they always have. The NBA has
always been subsidizing that league and helping it get started.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 6 (05:31):
You know, by now, I would have thought that, hey,
maybe they're almost ready or have already started on their own,
but that's not.

Speaker 5 (05:40):
The case obviously.

Speaker 6 (05:41):
So as far as the salaries go, I mean, yeah,
I mean, the league has been become more popular as
we know the last several years, and great great ladies,
great athletes. They're really great, and they've got a great
product that they're displaying. But the thing is is that
you got to have the way Street down that you know,
the owners of these teams, of the WNBA teams rather,

(06:04):
they've got to be willing to up the ANNIE as well,
and you've got to have intense negotiations with the WNBA
and the you know, their players.

Speaker 5 (06:13):
Association and the owners.

Speaker 6 (06:14):
And I don't know how much that gets publicized because
I don't hear much about the negotiations. But that being said, Scott, yeah,
they deserve more money. I don't know if she's coming,
you know, Brittany. I mean, I just don't want to
get into that whole side about the you know, her
being held by Russia and all that. But I mean
the bottom line is, yeah, they do need more money,

(06:34):
but it comes only after a solid product is delivered
consistently great.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
Chris, Listen, they definitely deserve more money, right because they are.
They are getting bigger crowds now, they're selling out the
big arenas, right, Yeah, thanks to Caitlin Clark. Without a doubt,
they are riding this momentum from her. But you got
to remember, we got all these other great players coming in,
like Page came in. She's really popular. You know, her

(07:03):
team's not doing that well yet, but you know it's
gonna take time. And they just signed a big TV
deal right less before this season, so they are bringing
in more money. So why they're losing money, I have
no idea. It makes no sense. So somebody to get
into that chase.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
The reason I'm the reason they're losing it by they
did get a deal with Ion and they got those
that's not a huge deal, but it's a better deal
than they had and they they shared one with they
had shared one with ESPN. But one of the issues
that they have with this is the fact that it's
like and that, yeah, we talked about this and I've
talked about it on the deal before. Yeah, they have

(07:41):
to go to RUSS and they have to have all
that kind of stuff like this. But but the biggest
thing is the one that is the reason they need
to be is the one that needs to get paid
at that moment, because she brought every chance that you
can possibly get if you get Kate, if you get
Caitlyn Clark, and at that point in time, she can
start her own league, and even Angel which follow in

(08:04):
because they would just be that league. But I mean Angel,
and this is the thing and it's not a thing
again Angels play, even though it's kind of funny sometimes
it's kind of funny sometimes that Angel Greece can't start
her own league.

Speaker 4 (08:17):
Right one, she's like a Dennis Rodman, right, She's a
good defender and she's a good rebounder.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Yeah, well she's a great view about her gone her
own stuff. But you know, but the but no, if
you're right, but that's the thing, she couldn't start her
own league. Name the one that can start her own
league and pay her starts there. But until that, if
you don't pay her, they can't pay anyone.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
Right, No, but it she is it, then don't have
a league. If you can't pay the players, right, then
don't have a league.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
I'm gonna I'm sorry with you. I agree, Chris.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
But the attendance is going up, the ratings are going up.
They got the new TV deal. I'm sure they're gonna
sign a new TV deal soon anyway because everything is
going up. So should they be paid more? Yeah, they
be paid Listen, I don't think they should be paid
millions of dollars. And I'm sure they don't want as
much as the NBA players. All they want, this is all,

(09:10):
this is all what they want. They want a bigger
piece of the pie. Right, the NBA players, how much
percentage of the revenue do they get?

Speaker 1 (09:18):
Right?

Speaker 4 (09:18):
They get like fifty percent? Right, I would think let's
say let's say they get fifty percent WNBA players are
getting nowhere near that, so maybe if you up that
a little bit, you know, then you could have an argument.
But they definitely deserve more. They shouldn't have to go
to Russia to play games, right, that that's not you know,
at least give them entertainment money, you know, like whatever

(09:40):
it is. I don't know what the amount is. I'm
you know, I'm not a financial guy, but it should
be more than what they're getting.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
And I'll agree with you, Chris, go ahead, g I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Right, So here's what we have. Okay, Chris, you really
nailed it pretty much heart the end. Here's what you have.
Javelle Hill. I don't always agree with everything she says. Okay,
she's probably the little person agree with the least of
who is out there. But this time I see her point,
and I'll say why I see her point. Okay, because

(10:09):
of the Russian detainment looked bad. And yes, Chris, you
were dancing around it that you shouldn't have to go
to Russia to subsidize your income. And I repeat the
words subsidize or income. Nobody says you have to go
out there and give McCain ransom. Yet the league hasn't
proven that it could be sufficiently stable for a long time.

(10:30):
But you don't want to make sure that they have
to go somewhere for a second job. And that's where
I see where Jamel is coming from. That's why I
brought this topic. A second job much, let's put yourself
at risk somewhere like that. But I see the point,
and that's why I brought it on. So Jamel, I'm
kind of with you on this one. I do agree

(10:51):
with you. They certainly need to be paid more money,
and a time will tell if they do. Indeed, go
ahead and get a little bit more. A lot of
things to get to.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Can I quick add I was just reading that, however,
So estimates placed twenty twenty three revenue for the WNBAT
around two hundred million. The league recently secured a new
media rights deal effect of twenty twenty six, valued at
approximately two hundred million dollars per season, suggesting the potential

(11:25):
for growth. So that new media deal starts next year.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
And not only that, I'm not going to get into
specifics on this topic as well, there are some expansion
piece coming in in the next few years as well.
Not going to get into that tonight. Way too much
to get to. But I certainly wanted to talk about
this with Jamel. I definitely see her point. And the
Britney Grinder was a wake up call to try to
get more money, and that particular situation, I understand it,

(11:52):
and I see it, and I'm trying to look down
in the middle objectively to it. So all right, hey, Mickey,
good to see you back in here as well. So
let's go out to Sacramento. The Oakland Age temporary stay
at Sacramento Suter Health Park there's been actually fraught with challenges,
leading to mounting frustration among players in staff. We knew

(12:14):
this wasn't gonna be an easy situation in the first place,
and for the next two or three years they're gonna
have to find a made a wait, make it work. Chris,
what are your talks about what's going on with the A's.

Speaker 4 (12:24):
It's listen, it's a bad situation and it's been it's
been a bad situation for how many years now, starting
in Oakland and now here, and and you know what,
They're playing in a minor league ballpark. You know the
balls are flying out there. It's it's it's horrible. But listen,
this is one of those things where Major League Baseball,
since they waited so long to fix this situation in Oakland,

(12:45):
that they're just gonna have to, you know, suck it,
suck it up and take that medicine right like like
we used to do when we were kids. Right, hold
our noses, take our medicine for a couple of years
until they moved to Vegas. It's as simple as that.
It stinks. It's horrible, but you know what, it's the
league's fault that they're in this situation, so deal with it,
move on, and Las Vegas can't come here soon enough.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Great points, Sorry, George.

Speaker 6 (13:12):
Well, yeah, I think it's a you know, we obviously,
Manfred and the MLB powers that be have egg on
their face. I mean we didn't anticipate two, not just Sacramento,
but then our friends in Tampa Bay with their situation.
Of course was the active nature, but the sacramental situation.
I agree with what you said, Chris. I mean, this

(13:33):
has just been boiling over and it just was delayed
all kinds of stupid reasons and people that wanted to
help the city, I mean, help the economy down there
in Oakland, or build a new place in Oakland because
of whatever reason. Listen, this is not something that could
not have been done any more crazily crazy than it

(13:55):
has been. I think the fans are trying to support
that team as much as they can in Sacramento. Yes,
it's still minor league stadium. Yes, you're gonna have problems
from everything from good sessions, parking, locker rooms, whatever else.
They have, grounds crew, whatever, they're just just it's not
major league Baseball already, and you know you're taking it,
and now you got to live with it for two

(14:16):
more years at least.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
It looks like Jacom.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
This reminds me of a little piece of trivia I'm
about to give. There were nineteen sixty nine there was
a team called Seattle Pilots, Yeah, the Sick Stadium from
the Neil Sick himself, and they they were working on
getting a new stadium. And I don't know if you
know about this, Chris, I'll tell you this little story.
They're looking to get a night their nice new stadium.

(14:42):
Day one opening day of the same they were still
building platforms and seats in there. People were staying outside
wait for them before the game started. Things were horrible.
It was awful. And then and then they found out
throughout the season as they were going on, if you
had ten thousand people in the stadium, it was fine,
but once you had twenty five thous then the plumbing
went to hell. So so and then so they had that,

(15:05):
so they had to rent porta potties, which ended up
getting people locked in those porta potties sometimes because there
was the night game and everybody drunk and everything, all
kinds of ridiculousness. One year and they were gone. And
that was the Milwaukee Brewers, by the way, and and
those were the things like that. That was the reason
that became the Milwaukee Brewers in the first place, because
they had a one year in Seattle like that before

(15:26):
they became the Marinders in seventy six. But this is
the situation we're dealing with in twenty twenty five. You
can understand nineteen sixty nine.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
Not now.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
This is just stupid, This is just ridiculous, This is
just you know what, this is this childish how they
handled the whole Oakland situation. These are billionaires acting like
nine year olds. And then and then we've got this
situation and now you got two more years of this
and I'll bet you get plumbing issues in that stadium
eventually too. All Right, No, it could happen, especially if

(15:58):
they start getting people. It's like, and they get more,
you can have that.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
You can never know.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
It's like, it's crazy.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
Yep, Canty, we're.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
Gonna build a stadium one point seven five billion dollars
for a price tag. They signed the bill back in
Nevada in twenty twenty three for the funding, and yet
they didn't break ground till June of twenty twenty five.
Why are you dragging your feet? I mean, now, the

(16:27):
stadium's not gonna be ready to twenty twenty eight, so
they're gonna be where they're at for how many years?
There they're they're hurting their revenue of MLB. They're hurting
their own revenue. But this is their own fault because
they knew this was happening. This was that they saw
the writing on the wall and they didn't act fast enough.

(16:49):
And I'm sorry, but you need to be proactive instead
of reactive. And now you're being reactive to two stadiums
that you're playing in minor league ballparks.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
So let me ask you guys this. Okay, we're talking
about a minor league park? Would you rather play in
Oakland in front of three or four five thousand fans
in front in a forty five fifty thousand seats? They
ain't ever been to Miami. Hello, they don't drawl out
down there either. And that's a brand new stadium. So
here's what you have. You have an old stadium which

(17:24):
is by the way now they're using it for cricket
out at the Colisee and for cricket okay. Or you
go to a place where at least you have some
sort of a home field advantage, where the majority of
the place has got fans screaming for you. You know
you're in a catch twenty two. I mean, then what
the best possible place they can go? Again is putting
a band aid on top of a sword. But you

(17:46):
want to overpay on the lease in Oakland? Have any
of you people been to the Oakland Coliseum before ever?
And yeah?

Speaker 3 (17:52):
No?

Speaker 1 (17:53):
Is that the Jacob enough? Well? Here I have I
cover the lines of the Oakland Raiders there and I'm
gonna tell you something. I've seen some neighborhoods that spook it,
but that one does. And when there aren't many of
them there and you're doing it at night. Hey, go
to Sacramento. I've been to Sacramentos in decent down. I
understand the circumstance or anything but perfect. But still you

(18:16):
had to do something to get in front of people
that yell and scream and that have vocal gords. Granted,
my vocal cords are going to hell, but at least
he got four eleven to twelve thousand. They're getting decent
numbers for them. So there was no situation when we finished. Okay,
there was no situation. That's gonna be easy for the athletics.
I just figure that anything they gotta do, as far

(18:39):
as I'm considered, better than playing in front of a
place where you can hear a pin drop.

Speaker 5 (18:44):
The Masoleum they used to call the Oakland Coulsey and
the Masoleum.

Speaker 6 (18:47):
When I mean the Athletics couldn't get any fans exactly right.
It was a different facility for football, but for baseball, Yeah,
it sucked.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
You guys think it would be Do you think it'd
be possible if they could have shared let's say San
Franz Stadium.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
They wanted to do that, but the Giants turned them down.
They didn't want no part of them. The Giants couldn't
get the An's out of there fast enough because then
they own the entire Bay area, just like it did
many years ago when the Raiders left and then the
forty nine ers own the entire Bay Chris, I see

(19:25):
your point. Okay, let's make sure that let's make sure
that pizza doesn't have onions, anchovies and the rest of
all that stuff. But we don't see the cheese and
the sauce on it. Brother, That's what they tried to do.
They wouldn't do it. The Giants couldn't get them out
of there fast enough.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
Was it the Stadium of Spooky or wasn't Mark Davis's haircut?

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Now I feel the Alzheimer's is coming on faster. I'd
rather forget it. No, I was there.

Speaker 6 (19:54):
It was.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Of course, you're watching the Raiders all the Skeltons around two,
so that'll spook you. It was just an interesting place.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
I have to ask an interesting question. We can We
can build the stadium inside a racetrack and do it
for one game, but we can't build anything for these
two teams that are playing the whole rest of the
year in these small stadiums. That doesn't make.

Speaker 5 (20:21):
Sense to me.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
Let me ask you a questions. Hey, you're gonna bring
that up. Now you'll get a really, seriously really figure
gonna put the Tampa Bay Rays over at Raymond James
Stadium just because of Savannah Banana do it? Doesn't mean
they're hitting the home runs. They may be hitting home
runs at the gate, but they're not doing it play
regular faithball. So that one's out of the way. I said,

(20:43):
you're tying the racetrack to that situation, But what the
hell you gonna do? A whole line never been there
have been to California.

Speaker 4 (20:51):
But how many years has it been a poopole?

Speaker 3 (20:53):
Like?

Speaker 4 (20:54):
How long has it been this bed? They could have
been for a long years time.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
The bottom line is the politics and that it is ridiculous,
like it isn't a lot of these yes politics Unfortunately
I have a couple of political things I want to
talking about tonight, but not too arts like I'm going here.
So but it's interesting. The bottom line is the Apes
are doing the best in candate in that situation. I
get it. And of course we all know full well

(21:18):
that you know the race situation was just unfortunate because
of bad weather.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
Well, they did play the next day there, but Candy,
you brought up the racetrack. It was great when it
was sunny on Sunday the next day, and when it
was raining though they couldn't drain it. It was ridiculous that.
I mean, it looks stupid. The whole thing was that
goes about the flood like we have Noah's Arc. So
it's like, so that's why they don't do those type

(21:42):
of things, is because these are just repre made stadium
or all that kind of stuff. It's like, it's hard
to be able to make it for one hundred and
sixty two.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
But Jacob Wrigley Field, they have rainouts too, Detroit they
have rainouts too. I mean it's not like they put
building a stadium that has uh that has the retractable roof.
I mean, that was the smartest thing Milwaukee did. But
I'm just saying, if we can find money to put
a stadium inside a racetrack, there's got to be something

(22:13):
we can do to help these teams so they're not
playing in such a small stadium, and I don't know,
maybe there's a mid size or what they could do
to you know.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
A different team. They would have had ten fifteen, twenty
years ago. They've been dealing with it. Not that they're
twenty bcconeers. These are in the situations that they're in
because Oak of the dire straits. They had to do
something in Tampa Wall. It's inevitable they're going over to Hillbrop.
I'll get into that another day. So I get it.

Speaker 7 (22:42):
Doesn't they have a nice, beautiful dome stadium built out there,
like maybe they could have could could they have reconfigured
the dome, you know, to play a few games there.

Speaker 4 (22:54):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
No, you don't think so right, No, I don't think
all right, let's you know what, Let's move on. Yeah,
I understand where we're coming from, orally talking about the
fact that we know that nobody likes playing at that place. Unfortunately,
you have to tough it out for two or three
years and that's about it. No, there's no easy situation.
I don't know what the press situation was like. All
I know is when the A's came down to Miami,

(23:16):
the travel contingent for travel media wasn't very high, maybe
one or two, so that was about it. Plenty of
good seats of the press box if you were attending
that series. All right, Well, since Candy brought up the racetrack,
we'll go to a lighter topic. Okay, unless you want
to continue the racetrack think can you let me know
and I'll give you the whole show to host. Okay, right, well,

(23:37):
Japanning billionaire built a two hundred million dollars racetrack, just
the race with the wife and kids. Isn't that nice? Jacob?

Speaker 3 (23:44):
Oh, absolutely beautiful. You just hope his wife is and
Danica Patrick, so I mean that's the whole thing. You
have to hope. And then he loses all the time.
Then it'd be like John Elway when he would lose
a pool game and he would just sell it, you know,
just sell the whole table. You know, you could just
see him do something like that. It's kind of crazy.

Speaker 5 (24:04):
Like that.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
All right, missus racetrack, what do you think?

Speaker 2 (24:08):
Hey? Whatever, If you have that kind of money and
you want to spend it on a racetrack, go right ahead.
I could see a lot of better things you could
do with that kind of money. But I don't have
that kind of money to be able to say, oh yeah, Scott,
just buy build me a racetrack.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
I don't care what kind of shape I'm in I'm
going to get. If I get an opportunity for an
adrenaline rush like that, I'm going to do it, all right, George.

Speaker 5 (24:36):
Well, yeah, they said that this.

Speaker 6 (24:39):
Was designed by a fellow that's done designing Formula one
circuits and two point seventeen mile track with twenty two corners,
dramatic elevation changes and views of Mount Fiji, Food and
Tokyo Bay. It also includes luxury things, pool, gymnasium and
karaoke room. I mean, yeah, this is unbelievable. I have

(25:02):
never heard of somebody doing something like that to that
large extent for just being a gift. But the fact
better is we all know in the back of our
minds there's gonna be some racing there, and it's not
just going to be playful stuff or try to please
his wife. It's going to be regular circuit, whether it's
Formula F one or whether it's Indie caror somebody's going
to try that track out.

Speaker 3 (25:22):
We know that.

Speaker 5 (25:23):
So Japan, you got a brand new facility.

Speaker 6 (25:26):
Now you've got to work out trying to get on
on the circuit for having a major race there once
or twice.

Speaker 5 (25:33):
Yeah, it's funny though, it's funny that man would spend
all that money and give that as a gift.

Speaker 1 (25:38):
Yeah, come for a white band kid. Really, seriously, really,
what do you got wrong your eyes?

Speaker 5 (25:44):
Not that much money. I wouldn't spend that money.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
You spend somebody else's money. That's all right, everybody does it.
Don't feel too bad, George. There's plenty of other moments
I can get you embarrassed up, but not that one.
That's a lot of two hundred million dollars just to
race your wife and kids. Is one big expensive adrenaline rush.
But yeah, you might be right. Maybe he'll find a
way to go ahead and get a race. Let alone
the fact that's a Japanese guy, all right, Chris. I

(26:12):
mean the only race track I don't know about it
is on Friday night against the Vino at least forty
eight hours.

Speaker 4 (26:18):
That's gonna be great. But you know what I mean,
all these it's it's disgusting what these rich people do, right,
They build a racetrack when you know what they could
be donating that to help people, and there's tons of homeless.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
You might still do that, come on, japany wait, wait, wait, wait,
this is a Japanese billionaire. Forget about that Japanese billionaire
that wants I'm a toy with his family. Why I
respect him for that.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
But on the other side, yeah, he might be still
doing that. But yeah, instead of building one hundred million
dollar racetrack or whatever he paid to build it, you
know what he could have helped. I'm sure there's a
lot of needy people in Japan too, not just here,
but I'm sure there's a lot of needy people there.
Like if I was if I was the Amazon guy,
you know what's his name, i'd beat building.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
And he come on, it's only two hundred million bucks.
He's a billionaire. Get two undred million.

Speaker 3 (27:19):
That's so.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
I mean, that's only exactly a million dollars.

Speaker 4 (27:26):
Think about that, two hundred million dollars to go play on,
to go, go go, go race your car. Honey, you're good,
don't worry about it.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
Now, go ra I want to race against my wife
and my kids. Don't get any better than that. Oh,
bring it in, let's.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
Go, Chris. They give a lot of money to charity. Still,
they just have a lot.

Speaker 4 (27:46):
I'm sure they do.

Speaker 1 (27:47):
Yeah, I'm sure they do. Two or a million dollars
for a little toy like that. That's not a big deal.
I'll catch a wife and the caids. Yeah, well, seriously,
anything like that. Never mind, we got two hundred million
dollars if it buys you that kind of entertainment. Boy,
the Japanese guy has one interesting take for entertainment, and

(28:09):
it's worth two hundred million just to go ahead and
raise your wife and your kids.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
Hey, I went to a racetrack for for a guest today.

Speaker 5 (28:18):
Yeah, oh, graduation.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
All right, Well, let's go on to some other things.
I thought this was a good one to lay, you know,
since we Candy wants to put racetracks inside of other
things and then try to fix a couple of situations
with two teams that are dormant moving to different parts
of where they're at. But then they can put a
baseball stadium in.

Speaker 4 (28:39):
There's plenty of room there.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
Right, don't get me going there.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
It's bigger than Bristol.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
Right, okay, Oh you're talking with the track.

Speaker 4 (28:50):
I thought you could put a station.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
No, don't get me start. I know what they could do.
I've been to that truck enough times, all right, I've
been a couple of times. Yeah, me too, Okay, I'm
with you, all right, Let's keep going. Otherwise all come
up with some crazier ideas for a show that already
still you haven't even heard the rest of them yet,
you only heard just a few of them and can't
he's not anywhere near that station. Break. Let's go to

(29:15):
a pundit's fundit and Jacob, why don't you sid he
it around Jabari Parker's story that you were talking about,
she had a different one.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
Well, you know, I would do the Jabari Parker sidety
I was. I said something over to Scott Royer today.
I talked about Jabari Parker.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
He did four years in.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
The NBA and he decided I'm gonna I'm gonna go
to Europe. He didn't go because they couldn't get a job.
He went because he still could have gotten a job
in the NBA. He did it because he wanted to
be more competitive. He was finding out as he was
going through the teams. He's going through the league and
stuff that only like about twelve teams truly want to compete,

(29:54):
and everybody else is trying to get. Everybody else in
the whole thing is trying to get They're trying to
get that draft pick. That lottery they're trying to hopefully
get that one for you know what I'm saying, that one,
you know, that number one, and that little thing in
the balls, that lottery things. And it's like, and I'm
with him on something like this. It's like he knows
if he goes to Spain and he's at Barcelona right now,

(30:16):
that everybody in the league is gonna try to compete.
And see, this is the thing about a lot of
these athletes. A lot of these athletes won high school titles,
high school championship, they went for they were in the
NCAA tournament. They're all winning, going for winning. Now he's
going into the NBA and he's finding out that twelve
teams wanted to go in another eighteen are going for

(30:38):
those balls. And it reminds me of George carl in
his first season in Cleveland, started two and eighteen and
he got to the playoffs against Boston, actually got to
win against him. After all that stuff. He wanted to
compete no matter what, and he got the most impossible
thing from two and eighteen, got a playoff. We don't

(30:58):
see that anymore. This was the now the ownership would
tell him to stop or they would probably fire him
for trying. And it's probably it's coming back to me
now that it's it is like, for instance, the bulls
are around the same at all times. Certain teams are
around the same at all times. Like you, I mean,

(31:18):
you got to realize this is a two time champion
college champion with Billy Donovan and he's also been to
the finals in the NBA. Why is he constantly about
thirty nine to forty three every year? They're not giving
him help. It's obvious that these are Chicago's trying to
be that way. There's probably more teams trying to be
that way. It's why they don't get a mic now

(31:40):
it's coming to that back to me is why they
don't get a Mike Malone, why they don't like a
lot of these teams don't get these ones that are
right in the open to win because they'll probably tell
them if you if you lose your first like fight,
if you go fight and fight, and wants you to
quit for the year, and it's like, that's got to stop.
It's like, what is really by its up? It's one
if you would automatically get the number one, but it's

(32:02):
another if you're one of sixty or on one of
what twelve for the ball for the balls for the lottery.
It's like you're not guaranteed even if you get the
worst team. Michael Jordan had the worst team in the
history of the league with the Bobcats, and he still
didn't get number one. Yeah, that's true, and he could
have had Anthony Davis. So why tank? Why tank? That's

(32:24):
what I'm saying every single time. Why tank if you're
not guaranteed number one? Not that I'd want to anyway,
but there's where my point is.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
Okay, all right, Kene, do you want to address this
with Javari Barker.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
I mean he used to play in the NBA. I
remember that. You know, if he thought he could take
his talent someplace else, more power to him. But obviously
it's not working out for him.

Speaker 5 (32:51):
So uh.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
You know they always say the grass is greener, will
sometimes the grass isn't always greener.

Speaker 1 (32:59):
You know what, We're gonna leave us as a standalone
pundit topic if you want to take it for the night,
unless you have something else you want to add later
on your pundit segment.

Speaker 3 (33:06):
Well, we'll see with that. Yeah, we'll find out just said,
I'm gone right now.

Speaker 4 (33:11):
The problem can I can I just say a little
thing with this. I think the big problem with the
NBA is it's like, if you don't have a superstar
on your team, you have no shot anymore. It's that's
that's what kind of league it's become. It's it's not
like it was back in the eighties and nineties when
when you know, when the NBA was fun, right, It's
not like that anymore. You need a superstar player now,
it's it's it is what it is. So if you

(33:32):
don't have that superstar player, yeah, maybe the team is like,
all right, hey, if we could get a better shot
at getting that lottery pick, that first overall pick and
get the whoever the kid is, yeah, let's do it.
So I can understand what he's saying, Parker. But that's
unfortunately what the NBA is about.

Speaker 1 (33:48):
Now. I'll accept that as a last word on this topic,
No problem, Marlet'll talk about Derek Jeter was inducted in
the Baseball Hall of Fame with ninety nine point seventy
five percent of the vote, nearly unanimous. I cannot go.
He he ain't get a hundred percent mister Yank, what
do you think?

Speaker 4 (34:04):
You know what, it's ridiculous that he didn't get one
hundred percent. But again it's one guy or woman, whoever
that person was that had to be out there and
and be that person that didn't vote for him, that
didn't go on hundred, that didn't make him you know, unanimous. Now,
he shouldn't. He shouldn't be the only one that should
be in the Armists, obviously marrying Rivera. But I mean

(34:25):
all the players before that that got in, you know,
a lot of them should have been one hundred percent, right,
I mean, we could go down the list, up and down.
We don't have to name every guy, but yeah, I
mean it's ridiculous that, uh, you know, these these voters
have you know, you know, have this thing where oh,
nobody should be one hundred percent. If Babe Ruth wasn't,

(34:46):
then this person shouldn't. It's kind of ridiculous that it's
gone on for how many years now? I mean, this
is like a hundred years that we're talking about that
it's the same the same line. Oh, if Babe Ruth
wasn't one hundred percent, then you know, you know, this
guy should you know, poull. Shitn't discussion, it's it's It
makes no sense to me. I think it's stupid. If
you want to vote a guy one hundred percent, do it,

(35:08):
it should be done.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
Excellent points, Chris, if I wanted you to start off high.

Speaker 6 (35:13):
George, Well, we don't know what happened between him and
that one reporter, that one writer. Unfortunately they're human and
the unfortunately unfortunately human.

Speaker 3 (35:25):
I'm glad.

Speaker 6 (35:30):
That there's a story behind that which we may never know,
but there could have been a run in in the clubhouse,
there could have been something happened emotionally between those two people,
Jeter and the writer.

Speaker 5 (35:43):
We don't know, but it's still a dumb excuse.

Speaker 6 (35:46):
Yeah, I'm not going to vote for you then the
way you didn't answer my question or some stupid thing
like that. No, I agree he should have been a
hundred percent, but so many other ones are not one
hundred percent either. And the fact of the matter is
is he's a rightfully in that Hall of fame. He
got in in the first year of eligibility, overwhelmingly. But
there always is one cracker jack or crackpot, whatever you

(36:07):
want to call him, that has a grudge to bear
and it's unfortunate.

Speaker 5 (36:11):
But it's been going on for ballot after ballot, year
after year, not Candy, So.

Speaker 2 (36:24):
We don't know who voted what way. Like George said,
could there have been a beef. But here's my thing,
even if you had a beef or a run in
with Derek Jeter, when you're voting, are you voting on
your relationship with Derek Jeter or are you voting on

(36:46):
his credentials to get into the Hall of Fame? And see,
I think sometimes we missed judge, or we misguide our
feelings and put project them into some of our voting.
If you're gonna you're voting for someone to get into
a Hall of fame because of the work they did
on the field, not the relationship they had with you

(37:08):
or with somebody else. The only exception, I guess I
would say is that if they had a relationship with
a drug or a performance enhancing drug or something like that,
that's a little different.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
But yeah, we're going to open it. Let's go. She's
the one that she's the one that has to deal
with these at the end. And if I run at
a time issues, it'll be because she opened up new
cans of worms remember that, because.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
Let's let's not get there. But no, that's what I mean.
What I'm saying is when you're voting on something like this,
you have to take it seriously and it's about their
play on the field, not what about your relationship or
whatever happened between you two.

Speaker 1 (38:04):
So but it happens, let me tell you, writers don't care.
They can stick it to you. They will all right,
go ahead, Jacob.

Speaker 3 (38:11):
It reminds me of the new King of the Hill
when he had took his first uber and he goes, oh,
I'm going to give you a four.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
You I think you need to earn a five.

Speaker 3 (38:20):
You need to earn five. Hey, what's this two? And
that's what reminds me of It's like it's all politics. Yeah,
it's all politics, every ounce of this. It's like, oh,
I don't like It's like you know something that's been
our I mean, we're not gonna open this part of
the candle words. I'm just gonna say it this way.
It's been twenty years of our own politics. We see

(38:43):
on the news. It's like, if you don't like me,
I'm not gonna give you this or I'm not gonna
get this stuff it's like it didn't start with Now,
I promise you that it's just a little louder about it.
But it's like, but we're if we see it on
the news, like with the in Washington, d C. We're
gonna see it here. We're gonna see somebody that didn't.
We're gonna see somebody. Oh, he insulted. Remember the whole

(39:04):
thing with the Yankees. There was a beef with the Yankees.
I'm not even saying about a Hall of Fame thing
that started a thing that said if any would goes
to the Yankees, he retire. It's called Ken Grivey Junior,
all because Billy Martin want him running around in the
on the field. And it's like and there's just little
things that always happen. You don't know the story. It's stupid.

(39:24):
And it's like what happened with the Each Hero too,
that was ninety nine.

Speaker 1 (39:30):
All right, Well there, now you're leading a mind territory. Okay,
that's good. I'm glad you did that. So now I'm
gonna go ahead and take it over, and you're handing
me the rock to finish this topic. And then we're
going to internet. Just don't trip over there.

Speaker 3 (39:43):
Just don't trip when you're taking the baton.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
Oh god, I don't need that. I got enough medical problem.

Speaker 4 (39:47):
That's the best one. I answered this question.

Speaker 3 (39:49):
Go for it.

Speaker 1 (39:49):
I will hear you know what, there should be three
hundred percent. You have Derek Jeter and Echro Suzuki, Thank
you very much. And I'm leaving it at that. Zuki
should have gotten that hundred percent. And even but the
person didn't want to show us station and he had
a chance to have dinner at his house, and Derek
Jeter should have gotten his for all I know, could
have been a Red Sox writer than said no because

(40:10):
they hate each other. And I'm leaving it at that.

Speaker 4 (40:12):
Make the ballot public.

Speaker 1 (40:14):
There you go. Yeah, but that will never happen either.
Nobody wants to show their face. They just don't. I
see your point. It just won't happen. But I will
say this, I am going to talk about international travel,
one of my newest toys, and I'm going to put
things in perspective really quickly. Okay, that we're in London
on the first half of our trip, and get this,
the US strikes three Iranian nuclear sites, and President Trump

(40:38):
said jointly joining Israel's effort to decimate the country's nuclear program.
This on that front, and things have been quiet on
that front ever since. Why am I even bringing this
up on the Sports show. I'll tell you what. Before
I took this trip overseas. It's one thing to sit
in our own little confined from America. I think in
everything you saved, all of them sitting in loving and

(41:01):
all this business take care of internationally, then you're wondering
what world reaction is gonna be. And if that doesn't
put international perspective into travel or international I don't know
what is, you know, And.

Speaker 3 (41:16):
Well, the big thing is, I can say this part
for you. It would be a little it would be
a little bit skittish for somebody to go across the
world and something like this, because for something along those
lines right now, especially when the world is so that
it is so small now every right, everybody, this isn't
just like oh Brits or Irishmen or anything like that.

(41:38):
You got people from Iran, you got people from Iraq,
you got people from Pakistan, you got people from all
of them all over the world, and you get it
bombed everything all of a sudden, you meet somebody that's
from those areas. So now and then and guess what,
you're American. So now it's one of those things. It's
like and they can tell it really fast, so I
can see what you're talking about.

Speaker 1 (41:59):
Yeah, the bottom line is is this. I mean, we're
all the way out in London and I can't say
it enough, and all of a sudden, this thing takes
place where he's stricting the nuclear site. Of course they're retaliated,
and he's joining his reose efforts in estimating Iran. I'm
not gonna get take a position on it, but all
I'm just saying is it's just when you're here in
the United States, you're use seeing it. Then you go
over these all of a sudden you think a little

(42:20):
bit differently because you're across the pod. Okay, let's continue
on to Major League Baseball. That's all I'm saying about it.
I'm not getting political. But you know, when you had
your first trip overseats tonight, I'm not going to tell
you make your own guy, let me use it. All
I was giving you was an international perspective, travel without

(42:40):
the chopsticks. All right? Major League Baseball? Okay. Osie Alvarado
has officially been reinstated from the restricted list. Nolan Hoffman
was optioned. Alvarado is not eligible for the postseason. Basically,
all this is is a trade deadline move.

Speaker 4 (42:58):
Your thoughts, Chris, Listen for the Phillies, I think this
is great to add another big time arm to the bullpen.
I know he's not gonna be eligible for the playoffs,
but you know what, these next thirty something games like
this is gonna be big for Alvarado too, right, to
kind of show that, Listen, I messed up, but I
can make up for it at least in these games

(43:19):
for you and kind of rest maybe some of the
other guys if I could take up some of these innings, right,
I think it's I think it's huge for the Phillies.
Gives them a huge, huge boost down the stretch here
on these last thirty games. You know, and Robinson is
pitching well too since he joined them. Yeah, this is
huge for the Phillies, especially after the bad news with Wheeler.

(43:42):
I mean, right, wheel is probably gonna be out. That's
that was a humongous blow and that's gonna be their
big blow going into the playoffs losing Wheeler. But listen,
Alvarado getting him for these last thirty games, that's that's
a huge boost for them for that bullpen.

Speaker 5 (43:56):
George, Yeah, I agree, it is a huge boost. What
is he thirty years old?

Speaker 6 (44:03):
His career stats are nineteen wins, twenty six losses, but
a really good era three point thirty nine and his
major league career fifty two saves. Yeah, the Phillies, I mean,
they're going all in. We know that Dave Dombrowski and company.
They're going all in.

Speaker 5 (44:19):
They want to win it.

Speaker 6 (44:20):
This is the year for them, they feel, and obviously
they're every step along the way is important to them
to take.

Speaker 5 (44:26):
They're loaded with offense. We already know that they got
a killer lineup, and the pitching staff is always the
one that sometimes has let them down.

Speaker 6 (44:35):
So I think Alvarado, like you said, he may not
be eligible for postseason, but hell he's he's going to
do his best job to try to get them there.
I really think that he still has some good, good
baseball left and I really think it's a It's.

Speaker 5 (44:48):
A positive for the Phillies.

Speaker 1 (44:49):
Scott Cay.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
Alvarado allowed no runs in five rehab appearances with Lehigh
Valley and allowed four hits, struck four batters, and issued
four walks across five innings. To make room, they've optioned
Nolan Hoffman to Lehigh Valley. You know, you feel bad

(45:13):
because they say he took a weight loss drug and
didn't know that part of that in that drug was
a band substance. Whether he knew or didn't know, I mean,
the team should know and the teams should have already
instructed him. Is it a boost for Philly? Of course

(45:33):
it is, but they also have to be careful because yes,
you want to rest some of your players, but you
don't want to rest them too much because they're used
to going all these games and they need to if
they're in a groove. You need to keep them in
a groove and you need to keep them going and
their arms hot and stuff like that. So while yes,

(45:54):
it is definitely a boost because who doesn't need another
arm or couldn't use another arm, especially a good arm.

Speaker 3 (46:01):
Jacob, Well, you know something, the big thing about is
this is the time to do it now if they're
going to do something like this, because really, by itself,
as far as as far as hitting, Dodgers kind of
stopped hitting, Cubs kind of stopped hitting. They but the
pitching's kind of helping. You're kind of like fourteen to
ten in your last twenty four the Mets have stopped hitting.

(46:22):
These are teams that are struggling Philly sort of, but
they're six and a half ahead. This is the time
now to take advantage when there's so many of the teams,
whether you're wild card or in the or leader in
the divisions, to go take it and run away when
it be a chance for a World Series, because an
unusual amount of top teams are struggling with their hitting

(46:44):
and or struggling with pitching, depending on it's just not both.
Because if that's the case, and you've got the Rockies.
But the big thing, but the big thing about this
is somebody is going to make a run in September.
I'm not going to say multiple because there's two many
struggling teams. So the Phillies are gonna give this this
shot even if Alvarado can't make it through. But with

(47:04):
all these teams out that you might as well take
a chance right now.

Speaker 1 (47:08):
I agree, do you have to number one? He's available,
he's fresh it without eighty games, right so essentially have
a fresh arm. So I look at it. That's why
I mentioned it in the context I did. It's like
a trade deadline move. Yes, Zack Wheeler's out and they've
had a myriad of other I think their closer came
back after a potentially serious injury. But the reality of
the situation is is that you got a live arm,

(47:30):
your miles will ride with it. So since I was
on the travel team, I'm going to go back to
it again today. The Chargers will travel around the globe
this season, and another thirteen miles beyond Beyond the chargers
total travel miles, get this thirty seven and eighty six
The Earth recomforts twenty four thousand, nine hundred one. Jacob,

(47:53):
how about some frequent flyer miles of those LA Chargers.

Speaker 3 (47:58):
Yeah, it's you know what that means Last year they
didn't have a whole lot of them. Means where they
were going. It's means that they're in a certain specific
divisions right now. So that's that's gonna happen with you
know what that happens with that, That's gonna happen with
Las Vegas eventually too. And it's like it's gonna happen
with those alsos Like you can get those miles. You
gotta face those places eventually, but you gotta face those ones.

(48:20):
You gotta go to Chicago, you gotta go to Minnesota,
you gotta go to all those places. But like next
year alone, they're probably gonna be closer. So they'll just
take it through this year. Main think about it. Win
those games because that helps if you make the playoffs.
Your plenty traveled.

Speaker 1 (48:38):
I think the Chargers are traveling across the pond or
was it Brazil? Yeah, they're going to Brazil that fact
or a little bit with those mouths if they're still
traveling a long way. But that said, it'll turn over
the candy.

Speaker 2 (48:52):
Yeah, the Charger, I mean the Chargers thirty seven eighty
six miles. The second place is the rams La Rams
both West Coast teams. The third one is Seattle, oh yeah,
another West Coast team, the only one. And then the
fourth one is not a West Coast team. The fifth

(49:13):
one is the forty nine Ers, another West Coast team,
and the one that's the fourth that's the that's an
East coast team. It's the Jacksonville Jaguars of course, because
they travel multiple times to go over seas. I thought
was also interesting all, the team's total travel will be
six hundred and twenty five one hundred nine hundred and

(49:34):
forty seven miles across all of the teams this year.
Now the difference, so the Chargers are traveling thirty thirty
seven thousand, eighty six miles the least is the Cincinnati
Bengals traveling eight thousand, seven hundred and fifty three miles.

Speaker 1 (49:55):
And that's just going to their stadium, those things, right,
I don't Jacob, all right, George.

Speaker 6 (50:07):
Well, we know who's there. We know who's there. Michigan's
owned Jim Harbaugh. But that is a very difficult schedule.
I mean, they've got primetime games galore. You mentioned already
about the trip to Brazil. Uh, you know, and and
Jim in his days at Michigan used to take the
team overseas, but that was different. That was a two

(50:27):
to three week trip. This is very intense and a
very grueling schedule. And that's very astute, miss Candy about uh,
you know, four out of those top five being you know,
West Coast teams plus as you mentioned Jacksonville. I don't
know what's going on, you know, and I know that
the league says these are great international games are great

(50:47):
and all that, but the toll, the toll that's taking
on some of the players and some of the franchises
that you can't just overlook that.

Speaker 5 (50:55):
You can't. But I know they want money, they want
more exposure. They're getting that, But at what price? At
what price, we'll.

Speaker 1 (51:03):
See, Boy, you're gonna you're setting yourself up for a whipping.
After I get done with Chris, I'm gonna nail you.
Now go, you're really going I'll set them up to.

Speaker 4 (51:16):
I'm with George. But you know what, at the end
of the day, the NFL doesn't care about the players.
There we talk about players safety. They're worried about players safety.
They got the nicer helmets now they're thicker with the
cushions and all that. They don't care because they know
they know that the next guy is coming next year
and the year after that. So they don't care about
players safety in that sense. They only care about the money.

Speaker 1 (51:39):
Right.

Speaker 4 (51:39):
The NFL is a monster. It's just going to keep on.
It just keeps rolling with all the money. So now
they go into other countries. You know what, Seattle is
always going to travel the most because they're in Seattle.
That's fine, but you know what, Yeah, these other cities
and like the charges listen to, charges were coming in
this season as one of the favorites to get to
the super Bowl, right, so now they got the toughest

(52:01):
road to get there, you know, and then you got,
like you mentioned, Cincinnati's got the least amount of mile
miles to travel. I don't think they're going to the
super Bowl. They don't have the defense. But you know what,
it's nice to only travel eight thousand miles, you know,
total for a whole season for seventeen games. That's pretty good.
So but yeah, the NFL doesn't care. They're just looking

(52:22):
to expand and roll out. Eventually, we're going to see
a team in Europe, right, probably in England. I mean
at that's coming. Probably Jacksonville is gonna go out there.

Speaker 5 (52:31):
It is what it is.

Speaker 1 (52:32):
But here's what it is. What it is, Ichporn's about
to get roasted. You bought a sick and moll aad.
You're worried about seventeen games, they're about ready to add eighteen.
You know it's gonna end up happening. Sick the man.
There's gonna be more international games. Everybody's gonna have to
get involved at International hay. At some point you have
to give up a home game in a road game.

(52:54):
So that's how they're getting that extra money. I realize
that you have some of the some of those, uh you,
although you don't have the piano anymore, but once upon
a time that you had one. Okay, this is where
all they have money's going in the world. This is
just this to me is the appatire leading the main course.
When they get that eighteen game schedule and the players

(53:14):
are getting that extra money. That's what you're really talking
about here. If you think that this mind number of
thirty seven thousand was high until they ask for more
than you're in the forty thousand mark for some of
these teams. This is just a different This is a preluto.
What's about to happen is all it is. It just
all happens. The Chargers are out in LA and they're

(53:35):
gonna get hooked a little more. But wait till game
number eighteen hits and every team has to give up
a home game and a road game, and then we'll
see where you'll talk about fireworks. You're gonna get them
right now. I'm gonna give this order a face of
break candy, and then we can proceed from there. A
lot more good things to get to after she gets done.
Give them my voice a little fleear.

Speaker 2 (53:56):
South Florida Tribute Publishing Company published a book, Lessons from
the Microphone, Tuning into the Enduring Wisdom of Visionary Leaders.

Speaker 1 (55:00):
Back to you, Scott, Thank you, Kendy. Well last night
this was a hot topic with Inside the Fist, and
I'm gonna bring it back for everybody else to get
a crack at it as well. It's part of the
title of the show and thea legend. Pat Riley defines culture.
Pat Riley defines culture this way. People don't ever come
into my office and tell me to fire a coach.
Your job is to play basketball. That's culture, all right, Chris,

(55:24):
what do you think about pat Riley's burget of culture.

Speaker 4 (55:27):
Listen, pat pat Riley's one of the greatest coaches in
NBA history, right with the Lakers and then and then
with the Heat, So yeah, he's all about I mean,
when you think about eighties NBA and early nineties, he's
one of the first guys you think of outside of
the players, right pat Riley, without a doubt. You know,

(55:47):
before the Bulls started their run, it was the Lakers
and the Celtics, So yeah, definitely.

Speaker 6 (55:53):
George, Oh yeah, I mean he's he's just been a
tremendous coach. He's been a tremendous front office executive. I
was trying to say, I agree with Pat. You know,
Pat's got his opinions, but that I'm not gonna argue
with him about that culture thing. And you know, it's
really interesting to see because he's just one of those

(56:15):
guys that just has so much respect for the game
and so much respect for the history of the game
as well. So I've always been a Pat Riley fan
and I'm not going to counter him on this one.

Speaker 5 (56:27):
I think it is.

Speaker 6 (56:28):
And don't forget our friend Chuck Daily too, Chris when
you start screwing off names, and of course Phil Jackson
as well. So I put those three right at the
top during that era as head coaches, and there's others too.

Speaker 5 (56:40):
But anyways, I like Riley. I like it he's talking.
He's talking good stuff, Katy.

Speaker 2 (56:52):
Every every person has a title, and there you have
a title for a reason.

Speaker 3 (57:00):
You have a job to do.

Speaker 2 (57:01):
You were hired to do a specific job. If your
job is manager, you're supposed to manage. If your job
is to coach, it's to coach. If you're a GM,
you're a GM. If you're a player, be a player.
Don't be the GM. Don't be anything else. Now, can
you give your opinion, Well, maybe if it's asked for,

(57:23):
or maybe if you're respected enough and you're at a
certain level, you can give your opinion privately to somebody,
but not publicly. There's a reason again, you're a player.
There's a reason you're a GM, and there's a reason
you're a coach. Keep to those That's how I feel.
Keep to your job title.

Speaker 3 (57:45):
Jacob, Well, one thing I liked about him is he's
set that up because Lebrenda decided he wanted to wind
whatever we wanted fire, and it was and you know
who he wanted fired. It was Spolster. And then he
stood up to Lebron on that or the brand devils
I just said and called and he called him out
on it and did that, and that's true. The thing is,

(58:06):
I'm gonna listen to a guy with eleven rings, whether
it's coaching, whether it's whether it's coaching, whether it's the president,
whether it's ownership, whether it's anything. I'm gonna I am
going to listen to him. He has won and he's
probably the coolest old man we're gonna know. If you
saw that, if you saw his classic cars, that he has,
and the and the let's see and the condo he has.

(58:28):
He's just the coolest guy in Miami. So there's the
whole thing right there. I'm gonna definitely listen to him
on these things. But remember this part. Even they're struggling years,
they're like forty four thirty eight, that's their struggling gears.
Those are the ones that are like, Okay, they're in
a play in game. If that's your idea of struggling,
and then they just come back the next year and
get number three, then that's just another thing that's his

(58:51):
that's his culture. They're constantly around a lot of teams.

Speaker 1 (58:55):
Can't say that, Hey, by the league, arn'cher. Just so
you know, I have actually have met Jerry Jones many
years ago out in Arizona. Pretty cool guy, so I
have no problem. He's definitely well respected. Thanks for the comment,
very much appreciate it. As far as we're concerned here,
pat Riley's one hundred percent accurate. He really, really really is.

(59:17):
Don't ever question him. He's got a lot of championships
and he's done a marvelous job making sure the Miami
Heat have an excellent culture there, and of course he
didn't do bad work with the Knickerbockers as well as
the Lakers as well. But what he's done in Miami
as the general manager and his entire body of work
with the Heat, nobody's gonna question pat Riley as far
as I'm cont in your gold back to the yard

(59:38):
stair long, I Carrey, Well, good way to get to
some publicity. Don't Miami make history as the first can't
see to make the playoffs? I don't know. I don't
think they made the playoffs last year or what you're
talking about the Miami Heat. I'm sorry, yeah, you know what.
I think. You're right? Good point. Well, there you go.
Have validates what I just talked about. Thanks here, It's
got me a little confused a little bit. Great points

(59:58):
by this guy. Keep it up. Appreciate in your taka.
You're on YouTube hopefully if having subscribe, please go ahead
and do so. Much appreciated. I'm gonna good to our
non sports topic of the night. This one should be
right up, George Iiicorn Valley. Oh, I had his name
written all over this one. Yeah, and not the one
in your house, George. But Robert provokes an American missionary

(01:00:21):
who spent his career ministering and I repeat, ministering in
Peru and Leeds. The vaticant powerful choice of bishops was
elected the first American pope in the two thousand year
history of the Catholic Church. Robo sixty nine took the
name Pope Leo X I V. I don't know what
pope number that is, but he was selected by one
hundred and thirty three cardinals across the globe. As every

(01:00:43):
I can tell, I'm not big on Roman numerals. Oh,
I not have American pop. Is that what it is? Okay?
Thanks you cat that. I was never big on Roman numerals.
But I Cory, what do you think we have an
American pope in office? That's why I brought you on here,
I gorn. I had to make sure we had le
top of. It doesn't happen only once in a while
on the Marget day we're talking about American pope. Isn't

(01:01:05):
he from Chicago? I think he was sill a white
Sox Studentsn't it.

Speaker 5 (01:01:08):
He is a huge white Sox fan. Praise the Lord.

Speaker 6 (01:01:11):
Yes, as the first time an American got the uh
the call to be pope, and as another side.

Speaker 5 (01:01:18):
Of Scott knows where this is.

Speaker 6 (01:01:20):
We have a city in Detroit called gross point At
several cities, very rich area, and he was actually ordained
at a church in gross Pointe in Michigan. He doesn't
the pope doesn't have a lot of ties to Detroit itself,
most of most of them all of Chicago. But he
did receive one of his ordinations in Saint clair monta

(01:01:43):
Falco and gross Point. Uh. Yeah, I'm very happy about him.
He's very down to earth. He seems very well liked
and and certainly he's a big baseball fan.

Speaker 3 (01:01:53):
We know that.

Speaker 5 (01:01:53):
So far, so so far, so good. That's what I say.

Speaker 1 (01:01:57):
Well, we got an American pope. Just because I'm not
really Catholic doesn't mean he can't be happy in America.
And it's going to be out in Rome by the
time I get there. Next you're visiting the Vatican, at
least you'll have a motor mouth inside. Well, I can
only imagine what kind of a video bear all right
by the way, yards talk long care. You can't discredit
pad has done all teams. I'm never discredit that he's

(01:02:19):
been a part of He's been a legend of the game.
You know, the yard stock. Let me give you something
to remember, GMT A great minds think of like believe
it a pat Okay? So, uh, Pope Chris, what do
you think about the selection and the Vaticain?

Speaker 6 (01:02:33):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (01:02:34):
You know, I'm not a big pope person, but you
know what, he's from America, so hopefully he's a good choice.
I think outside of America, right, I think outside of America,
and you know, all around the world may not have
been the most popular choice, you know, because of what's
going on with our country right now. So but you

(01:02:55):
know what, best of luck to him, God bless him.
Obviously he is blessed by God to vote. But right
here there you go, well, good luck to him, and
hopefully he does a great job.

Speaker 1 (01:03:06):
I'll tell you, Chris, there's a reason why you're a
permanent member on this panel here because you come up
with some good liners.

Speaker 6 (01:03:11):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:03:12):
I love going on his show. Man, this guy has
come a long way. And yeah, he's I had a
guy get this and on Twitter who was going to
try to collaborate with him, and he respectfully declined us.
And I'm looking at his h stuff in the direct
message at four hundred and thirty four followers, and he's
followed twenty seven hundred and some. You know what, After
looking at you, I refectively declined you and blocked him

(01:03:37):
and every show you're following twenty seven hundred some people.
You only have four hundred and thirty four. Get me
a break, Pope, seriously, really, let me tell you. Yeah,
Pope Provos, whatever your name is, you know, this guy
needs a few prayers on Twitter. Man, this guy's in
deep trouble. All right, can't you go ahead? I knew
how would take this to a different level? Look at her?

Speaker 5 (01:03:57):
What with you?

Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
No, I'm happy for him. I mean, it's kind of
nice and refreshing to see someone from the United States,
albeit Chicago, you know. But no, seriously, like for someone
from the United States to get voted in. Let's face it,
he's he didn't just go in. He got voted in
so by his peers, by people that know him, and

(01:04:21):
no others.

Speaker 3 (01:04:23):
Voted for him.

Speaker 2 (01:04:24):
So whether some people like it or not, you know,
he got voted in, and I hope he does a
great job.

Speaker 1 (01:04:32):
Yes, hundred thirty three cardinals voting a man, the American Pope.
I guess it's fourteen. I guess now that Jacob Kirk
and one hundred.

Speaker 3 (01:04:41):
And thirty three Cardinals and two Cups.

Speaker 1 (01:04:44):
But still, but when you have five people on this show,
you're definitely here the shine go ahead.

Speaker 3 (01:04:53):
But he's a White Sox fan. He's also a Bears fan,
so maybe he'll pray and he'll be Tyson bag and
as the start quarterback week one.

Speaker 1 (01:05:01):
Other than that, I mean, it's just I was waiting
for the enticeon pagent and I knew I was going
to get it from you. But love this topic.

Speaker 3 (01:05:11):
I want to win, win, win.

Speaker 1 (01:05:13):
What can I say? Yeah, well, join the club.

Speaker 5 (01:05:16):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:05:16):
We have a few teams out there that are struggling
right now back in No Town. But I'm not going
to get to that. But more power to you. But
I was waiting for that Tyler pageant reference and thanks
to mister Christner, we can do it. Yeah, yeah, all right, whatever,
I'm looking up later since I have another hashtag I
have to look up. I have to make sure right
around right, otherwise Candy's gonna call me back when I'm chilling. Okay, Well,

(01:05:37):
let's stand the sports of the team, but this is
much much more different. Uh, go out there and get
him pull more power than American got out there, and
I'm looking forward. I'm already planning my next trip overseas,
and let me tell you, I'm looking forward to it.
And then I plan to do the work on my own.
I don't need to travel agent the next time. So
get this now. Dick sbarding Goods and nearing a deal
to five foot Locker for two point three billion dollars

(01:06:00):
agreement values. It looks like it values a foot claimer
at twenty four dollars per year, eighty six point five
percent premium of its recent closing price. Let's just show
you what a money guy am. What are your thoughts,
What are your thoughts taken about the fact that Dick

(01:06:20):
forty Goods and foot and foot Locker are about to
become one.

Speaker 3 (01:06:26):
Well, you know something, this is exactly that the foot
Locker just completely did a redesign a couple of months ago,
which is a lot more efficient, a lot more cool,
especially for especially during like we've got black Fridays and
Christmases and everything, and it's a lot better. And they
tore out their little basketball area with all the basketball shoes,
they did all that stuff. But it's too late if

(01:06:49):
they're buying. If Dix is buying it. It's too late.
They should have done it a couple of years earlier.
They kind of stuck to the same thing over and
over and they did that type of deal. It's been.
They gave this the they gave it all. Good try,
but foot locker has kind of been eighties, the eighties
mall staple and it's one of those deals. Like Dix

(01:07:10):
has just dominated the world now as far Dixon, you
can say it could maybe one or two others is
a couple of minor ones that do, but mostly Dick
Sporting Goods and as a foot locker. They tried, but
you know, you can't you can't get sometimes you can't
get past the eighties. You know, that little reputation they have,

(01:07:32):
you know, all that kind of stuff. So Dick Sporting
is gonna become the ESPN of the sporting and a
good world.

Speaker 1 (01:07:39):
Candy. You know.

Speaker 2 (01:07:42):
The transaction implies an equity value of approximately two point
four billion and an enterprise value of approximately two point
five billion. Man, you know, these are two pretty big houses.
I mean, we've seen some we've seen some of the
stores that we would normally go to go by the

(01:08:04):
wayside where you know, like Payless Shoes is no longer
in the US. You see other shoes or retail outlets
that are no longer in the US because so much
is going online, so much is going online. I think
you're gonna see more of these big companies in order
to survive, have to merge with others and kind of

(01:08:26):
expand what they're doing, or I hate to say it,
they're gonna be They're gonna be lost because the Amazons
of the world are not going away.

Speaker 6 (01:08:37):
George, Yeah, I think something like this was inevitable. I mean,
you know, there's a there's a lot of this that
happens in a lot of industries, not just the sports
apparel industry or sports sports shoe industry.

Speaker 5 (01:08:53):
It didn't come as a total surprise to me. They
are number one Dix, They've been that way for a
while in their niche and then obviously foot Locker. And
I'm glad you brought that up, Jacob about.

Speaker 6 (01:09:04):
The Yeah, the stores were in the malls and and
now so many malls are just being destroyed.

Speaker 5 (01:09:10):
But uh, or Tarry darn Well, I think that it
would be successful.

Speaker 6 (01:09:15):
But yeah, it is the big guy kind of taking
over the guy that's in the middle of the pack.
And it happens a lot in American business, it really does,
whatever industry it is.

Speaker 5 (01:09:26):
But this is huge. This is huge Dick Sporting Goods
made of smart move I think here, I really do, Chris.

Speaker 4 (01:09:35):
Yeah, you know, it's coming down to a lot of
the smallest stores that were big in the in the
malls since all the malls are closing up that you
know that they're closing up now too. So I think
foot Locker did a great deal in getting as much
as they're getting right from from Dix. And to be honest,
a lot of the places like Dix as well, is

(01:09:56):
going to go away because everybody does shopping online now,
Like why go to Dix when I can just go online.
I know what sneakers, I know what my size is.
I'll just go to Nike dot com or rebuk or
whatever store is online Amazon and get my stuff there,
you know, And and I think most people now are
doing that right there, skipping go into the store. First

(01:10:17):
of all, there's just hardly any more moles, right, how
many males have closed probably by you guys and by
me as well. So it's it's not a thing anymore.
Everything is online, So hopefully Dix and I'm sure they do,
Like they have a really good website that's where they're
going to do most of their business. So you know,
it's just a sign of the times. What I want
to know is what's next, Like, what's the next big.

Speaker 3 (01:10:39):
Thing Walmart's going to absorb Target.

Speaker 1 (01:10:42):
I'll tell you what. Come back to the Sports Exchange
next week with you will, and I'll tell you what
the next thing. Yeah, all right, because I'll come up
with it. Don't worry, Okay, don't worry.

Speaker 4 (01:10:51):
Yeah, I want to know what's next because I want
to know where I can invest.

Speaker 1 (01:10:54):
We'll come out nine o'clock for a time and i'll
tell you what the next thing thing. It's gonna Friday
night on your network.

Speaker 5 (01:11:01):
All right.

Speaker 1 (01:11:02):
Here's why I'm gonna solve my problem with the shoes.
Howie Long, you represent the right company, and that company
happens to be about two miles away from us called Sketchers.
And I'll tell you those shoes a couple of my
fatta key feet considering every place I can see trouble
in contact. So I love my Sketchers. But I know
think it's a great move for football Locker to be

(01:11:24):
bought out by the export togethers all right, well something different.
Now we're gonna go ahead and talk some quarterbacks that
we're going to New York. So I'm gonna make it
an easy one as we transition to the next one.
We're going to the New York giants. Who will start?
Don't need any long major drawn on answers. Who will start?
Is it Russell Wilson, Jackson Dart, Jameis Winston or Tommy

(01:11:48):
To me, all right, we'll go to mister New York
who's laughing at me, Go.

Speaker 4 (01:11:54):
On, listen. It ain't gonna be Tommy DeVito, that's for sure,
and it's not gonna be Winston. Winston's probably gonna get traded.
I think it's gonna be Russell Wilson. He's going to
start the season. I don't think he's going to finish
the season. I think we're gonna see Dart at some point.
It's just a matter of time, you know, as good
as he's looked so far in the off seed, in
the preseason. I know it's only preseason, but I think

(01:12:15):
Russell Wilson starts, and by the end of the season,
I think Jackson Daught'll be the starter for the Giants.

Speaker 6 (01:12:22):
George, Well, I kind of agree with what you said, Chris.
I mean, Wilson I think is the smart choice right now.
Obviously he's hopeful that he's got some good football left
in him, and I don't know. Yeah, well he could
be it could it could be changed later in the season,

(01:12:43):
like you said to Dark.

Speaker 5 (01:12:44):
But I've always liked Russell Wilson. The fact of the
matter is is he just still can't win the big one,
I mean consistently, and he's bounced around so many teams
the last couple of years. But I'm gonna go with Wilson.
Wilson's my number one for now, maybe Dart later on.

Speaker 2 (01:13:01):
Candy Wilson starts, it's his job to lose, and I'll
leave it at that.

Speaker 3 (01:13:11):
Jacob, I think Dark, believe it or not, starts. I
think Wilson's the one that gets traded because I think
because because you were talking about this with James, I
think he's perfect for New York, for the media world,
so you can get something along those lines.

Speaker 5 (01:13:27):
I think.

Speaker 3 (01:13:28):
I think what we're gonna see eventually, though, is I
think we're gonna see the Vida tell me to Beatles
start one game against Ben Denucci, and the winner basically
gets the whole mob gets the Mob family. So if
we're gonna see something like that, so either way, but
really by itself, I think Wilson's the one that gets traded.

Speaker 5 (01:13:46):
I just do.

Speaker 1 (01:13:47):
Yeah, you know, it's amazing how you say that, because
I was surprised that they signed Russell Wilson. I thought
Jameis Winston was going to be your starter at the beginning,
and he would be the bitch Bridge quarterback for who
they drafted Dart, So there was a show. I would
like to say Winston, but it's inevitable if Wilson starts
and then and I guess it's just a matter of
how many games into this thing are you going to

(01:14:08):
be in before dark finally takes over. We'll stay in
the quarterback. Then we're going to the Cleveland Brown's depth chart.
I had some fun with this one last night though,
when we talked about the Cleveland Browns getting fleeced by
Deshaun Watson. But now I've decided to graduate and just
list the four in the order with the existing was
got Joe Flacco number one, Kenny Pickett, Dylan Gabriel, should

(01:14:29):
George Sanders. So the big question to this handle is, well,
the Browns carry four quarterbacks, Jacob you lead off.

Speaker 3 (01:14:36):
Yes, yeah, I mean they have to make up for
they have to make up for no real kicker, which
I'm almost expecting. I'm almost expecting Justin Tucker to be
there so he and Deshaun Watson so that he and
Deshaun Watson can have.

Speaker 1 (01:14:52):
Oh that's funny, man to get it. That's that is
all right? Well, you agree is bad. I think that's
what that's what Christmas brings.

Speaker 4 (01:15:11):
Yeah, now that Justin Tucket thing was bad, and their
quarterback situation is probably just as bad.

Speaker 3 (01:15:16):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:15:16):
Yeah, Flacco is gonna start obviously, but after that, I
think it really depends on who they believe in more
Gabriel or Sanders. Right, I'm really not sure because the
Browns are are a complete mess. One of them's got
to get moved. There's no way they're keeping four quarterbacks.
I mean, even the Browns are not going to do that, right,

(01:15:38):
So I would think one of the one of the
rookies are gonna I would yeah, no, I know it's
the Browns, right, Yeah, I would think one of the
one of the rookies are gonna stay Listen, they traded
for they traded for Pickings, right, yes, right, they traded
for him before they signed Flacco and be they drafted

(01:16:00):
those two kids, so they obviously have They obviously liked
him more than anybody. So I think as long as
he's healthy, which he's not right now, he's going to
be on the team. So it's probably gonna be him
and Flacco and one of the young kids, right, whether
it's Marie Gabriel or.

Speaker 1 (01:16:16):
Or Sanders.

Speaker 4 (01:16:17):
I would you know, it's either way, it's not good.

Speaker 5 (01:16:21):
George, Well, they're continuing their.

Speaker 6 (01:16:26):
Utility. I think the Cleveland Browns. Yeah, you can't have
all four, no question about it. Yeah, and I agree
that Flaka is going to be starting. But you know,
I'd like Hanny Pickett, I really do. I mean, he's
had some struggles obviously, fifteen to ten career wins and losses.
We all know he didn't things didn't work out in

(01:16:47):
Pittsburgh and then in Philadelphia for a little bit. But
I really think that I would not give up on Sanders.
I would not give up on him.

Speaker 5 (01:16:56):
That kid's has shown an awful lot of moxy and
and uh, it's a it's a dilemma that they put
themselves in with having four guys there right now. And
I really think that. I my gut tells me, Son,
this is going to be number three. And you know,
but flaccoh yeah, he's gonna start the year. We'll see
what he could do. The Browns are just so so

(01:17:17):
messed up. I mean, they just don't have it on
both sides of a offensive defense, both sides of the ball.
But uh, I'm gonna go with Flacco. But I do
think that they will keep pickings.

Speaker 3 (01:17:28):
And hey, George, Hey George, I'm just expecting, like when
he goes into Pittsburgh and Flacco throws an interception, there's
gonna be a video off there of his kids going
he sts. I'm just imagining that happening. Alright.

Speaker 1 (01:17:47):
So, so who we got now? Who went already so far?
All went?

Speaker 3 (01:17:52):
Or did you go get a candy?

Speaker 1 (01:17:54):
I think candy has to go ahead.

Speaker 2 (01:18:00):
So it's Flacco's job right now to lose. Let's face it, now,
are they gonna keep all these No? I think unless
they have a clear second, they need to shop whoever
they can to get the most that they can at
for whoever else, whoever wants one like, who is in

(01:18:22):
the market that needs somebody and shop that one, because
there isn't one that's gonna stand out way much that
I've heard of that is standing out way above all
of the others. So and you need a lot of help,
So go with the help that you can get from,
you know, the most bang for your buck.

Speaker 1 (01:18:44):
Well here's the thing. Okay, Flaco won the're two years ago.
Why they got rid of him as anybody gets got
them in the playoffs? That was dumb and stupid. Anyways,
he won with them. Now, one of these other quarterbacks,
whether Sanders, Gay, they're good trade day. There's a team
or two that could be desperate and he might land
a bigger draft choice, like getting one of these now

(01:19:06):
that they've competed in what they were working when they
were drafted in the first place. Now, since i'll steal
this one from you, George, Okay, maybe there is a
Sanders that could land to Detroit and they won't have
to put them on the layaway like Dion once said.
Maybe Schaed Sanders will take hand in Hooker's place, because

(01:19:26):
this guy's awful. Yeah he is, absolutely he is't gonna
make it. I don't know where he's gonna end up.
But he's I can see Dan Campbell looking to get
rid of him. He give him every opportunity again, but
that's an exaggeration. I don't even think it's for a
hair day, because it's outright stupid of me to say
it when I've seen crazier things. And I can only

(01:19:50):
see the look at Dion Sanders faces and Shador Sanders
ends up in Detroit. Sorry, Dion, he won't have to
go on lay away with you. Once thought you had
to go on way away period. That was bad. All right,
let's go to my town, Jacob, you know.

Speaker 3 (01:20:09):
Well Atlanta. Right now there, at this point in time,
we have an interesting little situation where nobody is playing
games in the preseason. We're talking Penis and we're talking Panics,
and we're talking the Cousins, neither of them, which means
ninety percent of the ninety percent of the reps are

(01:20:30):
going to the third stringers in the whole preseason, ones
that won't play, and then they're wondering. They're gonna be
wondering why they're struggling early in the year. They're having that. Meanwhile,
the braves that braves are just about out of the thing.
But they're won, then they won't like the eleven of
thirteen now, So it's what they're continuing to try. And

(01:20:50):
the thing is they're gonna make themselves a run late
and fall a little short because they were the one
team that kept everybody when everybody else started themselves. So
they're gonna face a lot of those teams le so
it's going to be an interesting time over then they're
probably gonna fill their stadium again.

Speaker 2 (01:21:05):
Kindy, who wants a free Hamburger?

Speaker 3 (01:21:11):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:21:11):
You missed it? It was today? Today was George Webb
in Milwaukee in its twenty three chains gave away free
Hamburger free burgers because the Brewers one were on won
a winning streak of twelve in a row. This promotion
goes back to the nineteen forties. How cool is that

(01:21:33):
that a restaurant in a town, in a small market
town celebrates their team the way they did. I just
think it's cool. They also gave Now it remains to
be seen how many they've given away today. Obviously they
they ended the promotion. It was only like a four
hour promotion. I think it was from two to six

(01:21:55):
pm in that central time. But they gave away over
one hundred thousand coachers for those that couldn't make it
in that time, so at least they know they're giving
away one hundred thousand burgers. Crazy. The Brewers are playing
really well. I hope that continues. I hope they didn't

(01:22:19):
get too hot too soon. I know they've been playing
the Cubs and they've lost yesterday a doubleheader.

Speaker 5 (01:22:27):
But they.

Speaker 2 (01:22:29):
They took the first game. So the one thing I'm
gonna say, Jacob, don't count them out until the game
is over. They have come back so many times, and
you know what, they've had so many different players do it.
That's part of what's really kind of cool is they've
had different players come forward and do really well. One

(01:22:51):
of the things Christian Yellis used he used, and I
think this is really cool, he used a bat that
he had there was a Bob Bucher bat, and on
the day he used it, he went like four for
four or four for five and he hit a home run.
They showed one of the guys have has Bob Buker
cleats on this past weekend when they did the the

(01:23:14):
players could choose things, you're they can still lose to
them and they'll still be ahead of them in the standings, Jacob,
but that's quite a bit considering the Cubs were ahead

(01:23:34):
of them by side. I'm gonna throw it back, and.

Speaker 1 (01:23:44):
It isn't Candy and I had taken Candy this time.
That's okay.

Speaker 2 (01:23:47):
It depends on the sport. Now, if we're going to
go into football, yes, Scott and I, George and I
have a little bit of a rivalry. Well, actually Jacob
does too, because you know, his team is and my
team is. The all this rivalry in the NFL, not
that it's been much of fun.

Speaker 3 (01:24:03):
I don't hate your team, though I want to be
your team.

Speaker 2 (01:24:08):
So but what I would say is from the preseason
games that I've seen the Packers so far play, they
really need to get back to discipline because they've had
way way too many penalties thrown, way too many false starts,
holding some of those penalties that they really need to

(01:24:30):
clean up as well as and we've said this before,
like the timing just doesn't seem right yet, and that's
why they have preseasons.

Speaker 1 (01:24:39):
So all right, George was going on your time? Now
you can talk about Detroit because you had the permission to. Oh,
that's so nice of you. I appreciate that.

Speaker 5 (01:24:52):
Love.

Speaker 6 (01:24:53):
Tigers don't get used to it. Seventy six and fifty three.
They're one nine out of eleven nine and two in
their last eleven. Riley Green is still striking out too much.
Let's see here. He still leads a team with home runs.
The twenty nine RBIs ninety two. Spencer thurkos and of
course at first is doing well. Torres has dropped off

(01:25:15):
the second baseman from the Yankees. I mean he's he
was real hot the first half, but the last month
and a half. And Baiaz too has been really going
under the radar for a month and a half now.
I mean he made the All Star team, but he
really hasn't contributed much offensively. But all in all, they're

(01:25:36):
doing okay. They're doing okay. I mean, Derek Scouoble is
a great pitcher, we all know that. But Casey Maize
is another one who's had a hell of a year
twelve wins now and the bullpen is maligned as they've
been obviously picked up a little bit of steam here
and has done well. Alex Lang is back who was

(01:25:57):
injured and out all of the year because of surgery
and of course, you know they got the best in
the bullpen and the new guy they picked.

Speaker 1 (01:26:07):
Up, a George. If you're got to name a roster,
just name the whole damn roster if you're looking at it. Sure, okay,
really is that the best you could take out of it?

Speaker 5 (01:26:22):
Attendance has been, well, they're selling out the game?

Speaker 3 (01:26:27):
What are they doing?

Speaker 1 (01:26:29):
I'm gonna put the words et cetera on yours etc.
Dot dot dot what else?

Speaker 5 (01:26:35):
That's it?

Speaker 1 (01:26:36):
Good? All right? Thanks? Got I need a wine cooler
or something to put me to sleep, although you came
pretty close there, give me a break. We know they're
pretty good. At least they have tonight and tomorrow night
off after they're impressive three games. Sleep with the assholes,
that's all. You had to stay sick of that impressive
sleep of the astros. Okay, and they look good doing

(01:26:58):
it and show them out. A couple of times. The
guy's leading me a roster. Did you go to the
game today? Maybe that I'm not answering that, Okay, don't
then he must be looking at the roster on top
of his computer. Okay, anyways, all right, Chris, Now that
George is getting riddled, roasted or whatever, he's got there
to go make sure it goes down the hat. George, Okay,

(01:27:20):
go ahead.

Speaker 4 (01:27:21):
Well, I you know, if we're talking about Mike Town,
I got to talk about the Yankees last night. I'm
sure you guys heard all the noise in Tampa, right.
Yankees hit nine home runs. They became only the only
team to hit nine home runs in a game twice
in the same season, and tonight they got five more
home runs, so their bats are are live in a way.

(01:27:43):
Hopefully the pitching could could finish the job, you know,
the rest of the way and into the playoffs. Two
big things for the Yankees real quick. They need Max
Freed to be the guy that he was in the
first half of the season. And we need someone to
close because, uh but Duard blew the save tonight, but

(01:28:03):
I'm not going to hold it against him. Hopefully, hopefully
he could bounce back. But that's Those are the two
key players on the pitching side that we need because
the bats are are awake right now and I'm loving it.

Speaker 1 (01:28:15):
Okay, Well, my town goes to my alma mater, your
software of Bulls. First of all, our late basketball coach,
Amir of dur Raheem was inducted. Died a couple of
years ago. I believe it was a heart attack, but
those two batter, Madame, he's a super class actor and
taking a picture of him, Coach Raheem rest in peace.
I'm glad that US have put you in right away. Scott, heman,

(01:28:38):
obviously known for his baseball prowess, played there from eighty
four to eighty six. You have also to k t
I j A. Katija Lexo women's basketball twenty fifteen, twenty nineteen,
Koweika Mitchell nineteen ninety nine two, two thousand and two.

(01:29:00):
And here's the big one of the group, Jim Levitt
inaugural coach for USF. I'll tell you what. I had
a chance to meet Jim Levitt, and of course I
once talk to him when he was here at FAU.
Jim Levitt built that program from scratch. I hated to
see him get let go. I know why they let
him go. I'm not going to get into to the details,
but I am so glad that they put him in

(01:29:22):
the USF Hall of Fame. I really, really truly am
built that program, had him a top my program right away.
And if it weren't for Jim Levitt, the USF program
wouldn't be around and it would be building it on
campus stadium. So it's only fitting as they're building it
on campus State and a Jim Levitt goes in their
great job. Jim, I'm really proud of you. And I

(01:29:43):
had a chance to even interview on the field after
a USF came in Cincinnati for homecoming and we had
one of the most flamboyant interviews, like you wouldn't believe
Chris get ready for Friday Night. But what Jim and
I did on the field that Raymond James was classic.
It was really last day. All right, one more segment,
but I'm gonna mention you guys a little bit, but

(01:30:05):
I'm gonna take this one. Unfortunately, yesterday my uncle Bob
Stroll passed away at the age of eighty three weekshire
to his eighty first birthday. But I'm going to bring
another president into this. Former President Joe Biden was diagnosed
with prostate cancer a few months ago. Thankfully, we don't
have an rip with Joe Biden yet, and I hope

(01:30:27):
it's a while before we do have an rip with
Joe Biden. Mister President, hope you get well I hope
you're taking the necessary treatment that you get. I'm not
going Tobey's get a question performance one way or the other.
How you did on the job. But the reality is
you served the country. That's good enough for me. But
there is no rip. But Bob strolls a different animal.

Speaker 5 (01:30:48):
He wants.

Speaker 1 (01:30:49):
Owned a business called ow Pro Sporting Goods. My dad
owned it, Sam green Blat, He's the reason I met
George Eichorn, Right, okay, you Sam green Black did so
stroll being a co owner, and that's where Georgia and
I got in contact WXYZ Radio and where we were today.
And I wrote a book because of all of this.

(01:31:11):
I all allow that to my uncle Bob, I really
do so stroll the dead at the age of eighty.
Cancer was diagnosed a couple months ago. They gave him
six months to live and as I mentioned, he would
have been eighty one three weeks on the night. So
Uncle Bob, I appreciate well. Number one, I appreciate the
fact that he helped me get Jeeves. But more importantly,

(01:31:33):
I want to thank you for everything you've done over
the years. If it wasn't for you and my dad
in the sporting good business. I wouldn't be sitting in
front of this national audience today, as well as all
the different people that I've had the opportunity to entertain
over the years, as well as right for so Bob Stroll,
Robert Troull rest in peace, appreciate everything he did. What
else can I say? Any closing thoughts?

Speaker 3 (01:31:54):
Jacob, Yeah, one of the things I'd like to be
able to see is we see so many darn injuries
in this league. You know what I'm saying, in all sports,
too many of them. Whether it's the pitchers, whether it's
all the you know, all the polls we get from
the hitters, whether it's whether it's the three or four
weeks to get out, as far as the running backs,
whether it's a football. I mean, remember, no one stays

(01:32:14):
all games, all year, all the time, all anymore.

Speaker 1 (01:32:16):
You know, you don't.

Speaker 3 (01:32:17):
You're never gonna see Cal Ripkins twenty six hundred straight
games go out, You just won't. People don't play that long.
But here's the thing I have to say. Think about
Kareem Abdul Jabbar for a second, and Robert Parrish and
both played immense amount of games twenty some odd years,

(01:32:38):
and and you know, in sixteen seasons for Kareem Abdul
Jabbar for eighty two games, sixteen straight, and.

Speaker 1 (01:32:45):
You have to won. He did with yoga, and he did.

Speaker 3 (01:32:48):
It with being light and being light on his speed
and doing all that kind of stuff. And you have
to wonder why aren't these why aren't these strength conditioning
coaches at least putting that into there system. You know
what I'm saying, Why aren't they? Because we're not We
don't have anywhere near enough athletes playing the whole way,
and because they're getting hurt too easily, they're all trying

(01:33:11):
to be way too powerful and their muscles are tearing
too easily. And it's like we should start getting a
lot more flexibility than we need get you got to
get out your strength. They'll get that wrong, but you
need to mix with some flexibility. And I'm just saying
somewhere something. I'm down the line. We're going to have
to figure something out there because too many of these
guys a getting hurt.

Speaker 1 (01:33:28):
Great points. Sorry, can't any closing thoughts.

Speaker 2 (01:33:32):
You know, all I would say is knowing rest in
peace to your uncle, but knowing that don't live with
regrets like you know if you have a bucket list,
don't wait, do it now. You know none of us
are promised tomorrow. Make the most of what you have

(01:33:56):
right now.

Speaker 4 (01:34:00):
Chris, I'm going to say, what's Candy just said to
condolences to Scott and your family as well. Yeah, just live,
Just live your life right, no regrets, don't look back,
look forward. I seen it the other day. There's a
reason why the rear view marror in your car is

(01:34:20):
smaller than the you know, your your front windshield, right.
You got to keep that stuff behind you. You got
to look forward. Forward is more important than your than
your past. Your past is your past. You can't change it.
It's great, it's bad, whatever it was, it's behind you. Now,
got to look forward and live your life.

Speaker 1 (01:34:38):
Great self. And Chris, he's really done a marvelous job tonight,
and I'm glad you're going to be permanently assigned to
the Wednesday night sports have change. This is where you
belong at nine o'clock. I've seen what you've done tonight,
and you've been on a lot of shows, but this
one you're more impressive.

Speaker 5 (01:34:51):
Acts.

Speaker 1 (01:34:51):
You've done great everywhere I put you, but tonight you
can finally say that this is where I'm going to
be on every Wednesday night, every night, So look forward
to seeing Christopher Night Georgia.

Speaker 6 (01:35:00):
Closing thoughts, closing thoughts. Yes, finally the Illags did the
right thing. Serge feder Off number ninety one will have
his number retired up to the rafters at Little Season
Arena in January in a game against Carolina. But there
is a lot, there's a lot of bad blood between
Serge and Red Wings management over the years.

Speaker 5 (01:35:23):
But I'm fine.

Speaker 6 (01:35:24):
I'm finally happy that they put things in the past
and they're going to honor him, which he so rightly deserves.

Speaker 1 (01:35:33):
Okay, Well, bottom line is this funeral is on Friday
at ten am. I won't be able to go there
at my Alzheimer's disease, unfortunately, has progressed to a point
where I can't really do anything on my own except
maybe a five or ten minute drive. Sorry, I'll be
watching it when they stream it. But nevertheless, you know, again,

(01:35:53):
I bring it up tonight. I mentioned it yesterday, but
I've had a full data process at all. Life is
too short, Candy, and everybody's right. You have to have
a bucket list, and that's why I put international travel online,
have fun with it on these shows once in a
while because they come up without the whole stuff that
validate my passion in my bucket list. And I think
the biggest lesson I've learned this summer is as much
as I've enjoyed international travel like I have, I want

(01:36:16):
to do more of it. So even though i won't
be able to be up there Friday, and I'm still
looking forward to Friday night at the fights, and the
way you guys are building it up anyways, with the
viewership is projected to the eye, it'll be good. Now,
all kidding aside, it'll be good to have fun with
Anthony Sabino. I think I want to build this up

(01:36:36):
to experienced baseball people talking baseball, and I hope that
you and Rob have the biggest audience you've ever had
because it might force you guys to scratch your head
and bring us back again. And then I'm going to
have both of you guys that act as Savino and
my agents, so you guys can make money and we
can make money, and we can make a lot of
people happy with their public dam So that said, yeah,

(01:37:03):
it will be so much fun at well, So that said,
No'll get everybody an opportunity to get a hold of them,
all right, take them you lead off, Thanks rom.

Speaker 3 (01:37:11):
Well, I'm on I'm as Chris knows, I am on Facebook,
and I totally never ever give my opinion on anything ever.
So I mean it's like I never no one ever
sees anything I ever say. So it's you know, it's
like so, I mean there's that, and then there's and
then there's time where I also never give my opinion,

(01:37:33):
and then there's you know, but I get that.

Speaker 5 (01:37:35):
I'm on the.
