Speaker 1 (00:23):
Today. Everybody, welcome to another edition of the Sports Exchange.
My name is Scott Morgan Roth Motor City, Mad Mount.
Very busy packed show tonight. I'll go to the crew
in a minute, but I do want to take it
out while I'll go over it now. Or to my
right is George Icorn. Welcome back, George.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Hi, good to be here.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Scott Candy, I like, welcome back.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Thanks, great to be here.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Scott and Willie Empton one of my best friends. Why
didn't have you on every Wednesday Night?

Speaker 4 (00:49):
Well, I appreciate being here once again midweek. Let's go
and get it.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
You certainly do that. And last, but not least, a
news member of the Wednesday Night group, Taylor Phillips Dactive.
Christopher went away for the weekend, but Taylor's gonna be
on every weekend. Jacob is just going to join the
crew when he returns. Okay, welcome to your new night. Yes,
we know exactly where you're from. Okay, Taylor, welcome there,
we see some miit and by welcome to this show.

(01:16):
Taylor's always on the Baseball Show, but now he's moved
over to the Sports of Change.

Speaker 5 (01:21):
Yep, I have so I just wanted to get this
a little crack of the bat, if you know what
I mean. So let's get to it.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Yeah, I'm going to start off unfortunately a somber note.
I don't like doing that, but it is what it is.
San news in the sports world in Indianapolis, owner Jim
Ersay died in the state at the age of sixty
five years old. Rest and teach, rest in peace. Mister
Ersay is wolla by everyone. He actually won a Super Bowl,
the team's loan title, and Pateon Manning obviously enjoyed playing

(01:54):
for him, and he loved his players. I remember his
situation now. However, at Super Bowl thirty when I covered
the Denver Broncos went over Atlanta and John Elway when
I asked him the question, how does it feel that
you orchestrated the trade out of Baltimore to land in Denver.
I'm gonna tell you one thing, John had the biggest
mile from here all the way to alast Gay. You
can't say that about Jim Mercay.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Though.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Jim Mersay was a guy who was a music lover,
He was a philanthropist, He loved his players, and unfortunately,
I know over the years he's had substance abuse this years.
I'm not going to get into that. But rest in peace,
mister Ersay at the age of sixty five. Everything you've
done in the NFL is nothing but positive. And I'm
sure that your family, I know what shill be taking

(02:37):
over their ownership and that'll be the Bulls player will
do a great job preserving your legacy. Rest in peace,
Jim Mercy at the age of sixty five. But that said,
let's go on to some of the other topics. They
have a lot interesting ones. But started off and I
am smoking, And I know why am I smoking tonight? No,
don't worry. I don't have anything in my hand except

(02:58):
the pen. But when the name show New York Knicks,
I got Carmelo Anthony watches Candemy's brand. You might think
I have, but don't get the wrong idea of people. Okay,
it is what it is. But Carmelo Anthony launches cannabis
brand and agency stayy seventy. Obviously, it had a successful

(03:20):
debut in Oregon. I had to bring it back to
New York City, where he played seven years with the
New York Next Now people in Detroit would prefer not
to think of Carmel Anthony because the pisson passed on
him for Darkomelo Chicic. But Joe Domer does get another
job in Orleans get into that. But I don't think
Carmelo is going to do into cannabis business.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
Mister Epting, Well, this is the loaded question mine usually
are this is this is a very loaded question, and
I want to say the percentage of players in the
NBA that use cannabis, it's probably pushing at least seventy

(04:07):
to eighty percent. And being in New York where it
is legal, and the name that he has and the
cachet that he has, and everything that he has done
for the city of New York actually being I guess
he was planted there after living in West Baltimore and

(04:31):
moving to New York. I think he's actually from Queens
or maybe Brooklyn. I don't see why not this income
revenue stream that he's generating isn't going to be a success. Usually,
when you have somebody like Carmelo Anthony who has done
so much in not just West Baltimore but in New
York as well. He's beloved by a lot of different people,

(04:56):
and he got the stuf he got to start out
in Oregon, which of course is legal there too. I
don't see any reason why he wouldn't be a success
at this. He's been a success of everything else that
he's done in his life professionally, so I don't expect
anything different here.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
By the way, the project is called stay Mey seventy.
I just want to put it out there. Do. What
do you think, Taylor about Carmelo Anthony's latest business.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
Is well, well, marijuana is harmed, is very harmful to
people's body, and I just don't I just don't see
Carmelo Anthony growing that business anywhere. It's just it's just
not going to work.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Candy.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
So the brand that he said, the way it's spelled out, Scott,
it looks like stay Mey seventy, but he wants it
pronounced as stay Mellow, which kind of makes sense. That's
a good play on words. I mean, I'm honestly with
Carmelo Anthony doing it stay Mellow Florida.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
I want it now.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
I honestly think it's gonna work, Tailor, because I think
it's the new norm that people are using as long
as it's legal where you are to help them. A
lot of people are using the marijuana for different health reasons,

(06:36):
and so I think I think as a player and
former player, I think it's he'll do well with it.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Hi JD.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Salute to j D Wytt.

Speaker 5 (06:46):
I get the legalty stuff.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Yeah, okay, so you know it's okay, I still want it.
Does we now get it? But you know what I
will say about the product though, it will remind me
of Aaron Rodgers. At least it's one thing he can
do is relax because he makes everything, but he relaxed
for his services.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
But we'll do that alone.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
And you know, I'm feeling really good tonight there will
I I have my great new crew on great stuff.
All right, I can't got the last word. I stay
in Maryland.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Well, yeah, there have been other athletes I know that
have gotten involved in it, but this is probably one
of the biggest names that I've ever heard. Yeah, I
mean we have, as Taylor knows, it's legal in Michigan
and just a few miles from my home, we have
a whole bunch of cannabis operations along a street called

(07:35):
gross Spec Highway. And you know it's not for me
or my family, but it is for some. So all
I can say is if if, if there is that
possibility for him to grow and to become a businessman successful.
A lot of athletes have gotten into other things and

(07:56):
and been successful in the business world. So I, for
one not the fan of it. But like I said,
if he's successful, all the more power to him.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Right now, I'm going to make some notes in with comments. Okay,
So I'm just going to go over it, put it
out there, and we move here. The Detroit Tigers off
a really roaring start. I know, I have two guys
who would love to talk about it not happening. Maybe
we'll do let's talk about for eightful night. But the
first time the two thousand and six the Tigers are
the best record in Major League faithful for fifty games,

(08:32):
and when you take a look at the fact that
the last time that's happened was the first time. Obviously,
when you look at their sixteen game sixteen series start,
they're twelve and four right now. As far as series
of concerned, the last time that that ended up happening
was in nineteen eighty four when they were thirteen one

(08:55):
and two. We all know what happened there. The Tigers
took two out of three from the Saint Louis cart
are back to back nights five to four as well
as five to one. Nolan Arroon, Nolan Arroon, I don't
take no, my friend. Tigers aren't good enough, but they
still teach at two out of three, and Bush stated,
my goodness, you know what I think, Nolan Aeronauts needs

(09:16):
stay mellow, stay melow because you I'm going to the postseason.
Nobody's ever heard me talk this soff before, and don't
get used to it. So you think about that best
record in MLB fifty fifty. My goodness, we're doing good.
On words, we go to stay more mel NFL hijacks

(09:37):
Christmas from NBA. What do you think of that one,
mister Willie, What do.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
You mean by hijacked? There's different There's various definitions of
the word hi jacked. Lebron James said it last year.
You know, I love the NFL, but Christmas Day belongs
to the NBA. If anybody is going up head to
head against the NFL, the NFL is going to win.

(10:05):
It does not matter what person. I'm sorry, what team
or teams because they play like seven games in the
like a crazy back to back to back to back
to back to back, like double hitter type thing. But
the NFL is king in the United States and it's

(10:26):
going to remain that way because for the NBA people,
most people that are that are casual, not quite hardcore fans,
but like in between, they may not start paying attention
into the VA until Christmas. Some of us don't really
start paying attention until January. So yeah, it is going

(10:48):
to be a hostile takeover because it's the NFL.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
Right, that's definitely. What have you ever seen any games
on Christmas? I've seen them for both leagues, just for
the NBA, and I've seen them for the NFL. Pretty
good to be able to go on Christmas Day, You're
always on national TV no matter what. But no, nobody
competes with the NFL expects to win, No way le's trying.

(11:15):
NFL will take that day over NBA. Old it for
a while, no more, Taylor.

Speaker 5 (11:24):
I would I wouldn't mind watching both the NFL and
NBA on the same day on Christmas because holidays, the
holidays and sports all together should be fun, right, not
to mention the NHL, of course, So yeah, add that
and and I'm mind watching a couple of hockey games

(11:45):
along with football and basketball. You just flip through the
channels and stuff just to gig your big sports digest.
Of course, just like me, I'm a sports freak, and
this is this is this is something a really good
sports fan that has a passion needs. If you know

(12:07):
what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Yeah, I know, Joshua Door saying cannabis, he should be canceled.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
Okay, you know it always comes back to the cannabis.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Yeah, doesn't it, Joshua Door? Okay, beautiful thing, I joined
the chat room. Beautiful, Stay mellow, stay mellow. Yes, Willy knows,
I'm gonna have one with that all night. Stay meltw Knity.
You don't have to stay mellow. You can say something cannabis.
We know is boys? What candy?

Speaker 3 (12:37):
Which is more popular the NFL of the NBA. As
of twenty twenty four, the NFL has over four hundred
and ten million fans worldwide, while the NBA has around
two point four billion global fans. But when we're talking
about viewership, NFL hands down takes the case. If you're

(13:02):
talking about and I know we're not talking about the
Super Bowl, but in the US, the NFL Super Bowl
attracts over one hundred million viewers, while the NBA Final
averages around twelve to twenty million viewers. So NFL taking
over Christmas doesn't surprise me. The NFL is trying to

(13:24):
make money wherever they can, as much as they can.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
It's a business.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
NBA is a business too, but the NFL is more
popular in the US for sure.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
Okay, and well, yes, I would be more unhappy for
you with Trish Gosh's comments by all mean go ahead
and then will turn over to George.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
Well, no, no, I want I want to allow for
Candy's question or her.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
I'm good addressed, she says, she's good. No, I'll want
you to address. Go ahead.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
Okay, so can you put it up on the screen.
His first comment, that one, and then the next one.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Well, yeah, I've put them all three up that way.
Joshua Philsey is getting clarification on all his points.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
Okay, this is the one that really kind of rubs
me the wrong way, and I'll tell you why. Okay,
Marijuana is not a physically addictive drug. You may have
a mental addiction towards it, which in these days could
be just important, if not more important. However, it is

(14:36):
you don't have any physical withdrawals like you do with
heroin or crack or cocaine or crystal meth. And I'm
not saying this from any experience other than from a
cannabis standpoint. So when when when he says it starts

(14:56):
with cannabis, the next thing you know, you're doing hooker
or you're doing heroin hookers. You have to realize, mister Joshua,
and with all due respect, that people people have addictive
personalities and that is the driving force behind whether or
not a person becomes addicted to whatever substance that is

(15:17):
out there. I think it's I think it's unfair to
say that he should be that carmelo should be canceled,
because if the government has found a way to regulate
it enough to make it legal in some states, and
we know it's up to the states, right, it's nobody

(15:40):
should I don't think it's anybody's place to say what
anybody else should or should be doing, should shouldn't be doing,
simply because it is. It is almost impossible to say
what you won't do until you have to make the
choice on whether you're gonna do it or not. That's

(16:01):
all I had to say. Well, there's a lot more.
I could do a whole show on it, but oh
we could.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
I just wanted to touch base on it because I
thought it was an intriguing topic. And I have to
tell you I view Mellow as a very shrewd business person,
and obviously you know he's headed in the hope already.
And he'll also be a NBC also as a commentator.
So I realized, if you take the strong stuff, that
will have an effect. I'm going to preface it on

(16:27):
both sides, positive and the negative side, but it will
have an effect no matter how you go ahead and
in take it one way or the other. And I
want to keep those comments along those lines. If everybody
completely understand Gosha, I do truly appreciate your comments on
the matter. Some of the topics we bring on here
are necessary because they obviously are trending enough to so

(16:50):
he's going to get right and high right now. Okay,
go ahead, it can't hurt you. I mean, I've known
you long enough. Go ahead. I mean, if you want
to come on here and do it, I don't want
to do that. I don't know if they have sec
doing this stuff, but whatever, whatever, Okay, this is all right, George,
Let's go back to what we were talking about was Christmas, and.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
You mean, yeah, the NFL Grinch. They're like Grinch, the
grinch who stole Christmas. Well, the NBA used to own it,
but obviously the NFL now has got itself involved in it.
I'm just telling you my own personal feelings, okay, and
you can take them orried not. This is just another
encroachment on the family and the family holiday. And I'm sorry.

(17:35):
I do not put that television on on Christmas. Neither
would my sisters and wife and brothers and children want
me to sit in front of a TV. So I'm
not in favor of it. I knew the Lions were
going to be in one of them, thank god they're
not the home team. But I'm not in favor of it.
We got five NBA games, three NFL games. Geez. We
used to have the Aloha Bowl. We had the Blue

(17:56):
Gray Game. You remember that years ago. There was one
college football game and one bowl game. But anyways, I'm
not a favor of it. And yes, I do agree
with the sentiments. Of course, the NFL will stop over
them in the ratings. That's not the point. The point
is they continue to infringe on America's holidays, and I'm
not for that at all.

Speaker 4 (18:15):
And it's not just America's holidays, mister Iicorn, it's you know,
Christmas isn't just celebrated here. You know, it's celebrated around
the world as well in other places. But they don't
have to deal with the advent of the NFL and
the NBA shown all over the televisions and we're in
those countries. So it's a double edged sword, man, it

(18:39):
really is.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
Well, you know what, I agree?

Speaker 1 (18:43):
Well, transition from the NDAH to the w NBA. The
most black w NBA game ever was the Indiana Fever
versus the Chicago's guy Caitlin Conk versus Angel rees a
two point seven million views. Wow, if that isn't Larry
Bird Magic Johnson, tell me what it is, Willie, because

(19:06):
that is pretty good. The ladies game is really, really,
really gone well. And I'm telling you, Willie, if you
haven't done it, yes, he's sure you should cover it.
And c WA Women's Final four, it is unbelievable. I
appreciate the WNBA game so much more now having gone
to that final four and seeing Geno Orion. Know what
the thing was. But let's keep it on point here.

(19:28):
What are your thoughts about the WNBA. I'm matching those numbers.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
I think it's fantastic. I think it's tremendous. I think
it's awesome. However, I think I think the w NBA
as well as the NBA, maybe missing out on something
because when Magic and Bird came into the league at

(19:52):
the same time, just like Angel and Caitlyn came in
at the same time, and in college, Magic beat Bird
well in college. In college for Angel and for Caitlin,
you know, they beat each other twice or they one
of them beat one of them the other once, and
then you get drafted in the same draft and then

(20:15):
now you're on opposite sides of the I guess of
the opposite sides of the conference or what have you.
I think the NBA should get involved in this. The
w NBA should welcome their feedback, and they need to
market this thing like Magic and Bird. If they did
that without breaking any like morality issues between the two combatants,

(20:41):
they can they can. I think they're missing it on that,
and hopefully for them, they'll get it done. And I
know Caitlyn and and and Angel may not care for
each other personally. But that's the same way that Magic
and Bird started out. They weren't friends and now they're
the greatest of friends.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
Tell you what, I'll make myke tim a short and
sleep because I had to stay mellow. I know Willie
loves in a live feet off this stuff, right, negative
recurrence name then will I'm done, but I'm not. But
Taylor's not.

Speaker 5 (21:21):
Any Well, I'm gonna have to agree with Willie apting.
You got to know your enemy as well, but first
before you've become friends. And it's it's I believe it's
part of how the sports world works, with opposing and

(21:42):
uh uh teammate players and other stuff like that. H
it's the way. It's a way of socialism, part of life. Right, Yeah,
that's it, okay, Candy.

Speaker 3 (22:02):
Sports and viewership explode when you're talking about to opposing people,
whether they're conflicting with each other where they're not. For
some reason, media and fans love when they're when they're fighting,

(22:24):
where they're bickering, where they're not getting along. Let's face
it that there was stories out there that when Juan
Soto played against the Yankees that him and Judge weren't
talking to each other and that became more and they blew,
they blow some of these things up, which but that
causes more viewership. It causes people to read. The controversy

(22:47):
causes people to their attention. It catches their attention, and
that's what sparks viewership. Sparks this. So as Caitlin has said,
like the follow that she did, wasn't it you know
it was? It was a basketball move. But who who's
Who's bringing it up to attention? Now? Angel Reese's mom

(23:11):
is getting involved in and so the media is helped
feeding this and bringing these viewerships in because everybody likes
this little controversy and the little jabs here and there.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
Is it good?

Speaker 3 (23:26):
Is it good for for women's sport that we have
two good basketball players that are on opposite teams that
everybody likes to talk about them sparking against each other.
Of course, if it's going to bring viewership, great, because
it's it's about time that viewership goes up for women's sports.

Speaker 1 (23:47):
I knew Katie was going to put an Aaron Judge
reference in there with Lonsoco. You know what, well, you
have a good one coming up with Pagebackers. Is gonna
take her a little while to get going. I'll tell
you the NBA w n B A is definitely gonna
have to market stars if they do exactly what you're
telling it to do, Age and the rest of those
young ladies will be part of what they're looking to.
Georgia as the final word under something and we go

(24:08):
on a station break.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
Well yeah, I mean, you know, congratulations of the WNBA.
Two point seven million viewers is nothing to sneeze at.
Most watched since the WNBA All Star Game, which was
twenty five years ago, and I think this game peaked
at like three point one million viewers. So yeah, the
audience is there and the audience can only go up.

(24:33):
But I am not in favor of if it's if
it's if it's hateful or racist comments or anything like
that between Caitlin Clark and Angel Rayes. Obviously, that's stuff
that we we as professional in the journalism area, should
stay away from. Now they're going to do an investigation, Okay,

(24:54):
So I'm not saying you can't report it as a
news story, but I don't want that to be and
the media blowing this into a white versus black or
whatever twist they want to put on it. Let's enjoy,
Let's enjoy the quality play, the exceptional talent Caitlin and
Angel brought to that game. And I know it was

(25:15):
a lopsided score, but I for one, I'm going to
look forward to seeing more games. And I think you
can only grow from here. You guys are right, they
should do more, be more proactive to sell this game
or expand this game of the women's WNBA. I think
it's great. It's a great product.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
The lot to station breat candy.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
You were listening to.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
The South Florida Tribune Publishing Company published the book Lessons
from the Microphone, Tuning into the Entering Wisdom of Visionary Leaders.
It is written by our host Scott the MotorCity Madmouth
Morgan Roth, and the four is written by another panelist,

Speaker 1 (26:39):
And by the way, mister clappanwill you're in the acknowledgment section.
You've been a big help to me on that are
slash actually giving me pointers on all kinds of stuff.
My goals will make sure a bit more expanded. Will
when I write number two later on the share write
my second update. Anyways, the first next book I'm playing
writers a book overseas. I'll the vote that more a
later date. That set we're gonna go ahead and talk

(27:01):
about big money, but this time we're talking about it
in a different way, and that being this Sunday Night Baseball.
Two point five million views was watched Sunday Night Baseball,
the largest game since twenty eighteen, and you have the
Yankees against the Mets. Now get this, I love this

(27:23):
information because now I have a chance to be sarcastic
and no, I'm not going to stay mellow. I'm going
back to loud, and I mean loud as loud loud,
and I'm crawling of course. Now the other one out
there smoking it but still being dwindling may get this,

(27:44):
and we talked about this on Baseball before, but a
fact MLB and ESPN has mutually agreed to end the
relationship after this season. MLB is displeased with the minimal
coverage and all platform outside of live game is and
Rob Manfred cites the fact that dwind land subscribers. Me personally,

(28:07):
I think baseball is going back on NBC. I don't
know why. I have a gut feeling we're gonna see
NBC involved don't know where, but Willie, I guess the
biggest question I'm gonna ask you, And obviously and Taylor,
George and I talked about on Baseball. So I'm gonna
give you the floor and I'll let them see if
they want to update their thoughts. And Kenny was under
were her talks about the fact that MLB is cutting

(28:29):
tied with ESPN.

Speaker 4 (28:34):
Well, ESPN is the alleged worldwide leader, but their coverage
of baseball, in my opinion, has diminished over the years,
and I don't know if it's because of some of

(28:57):
the games they feature with not so good teams. And
then of course I don't know who's exactly responsible for
the Major League Baseball package on direct TV or whatever.
I don't know who's responsible for those things where people
can actually go and watch their individual teams on those

(29:20):
type of platforms. I actually have to be one of them.
I have a firestick and I'm able to watch the
A's every time they play. So there may be there
may be fans of teams out there that don't get
to see their team on ESPN nearly as much as
they would like to see it. So now, and I'm
thinking the MLB maybe over all of that to include

(29:43):
the MLB Network. And if that's the case, guess what
I get it, because why keep feeding gas to a
vehicle that is starting to sputter, you know what I mean?
So when you when you put it in those terms,
it's like, Okay, we can shift our dollars to our
own in our own house. We're gonna, we're gonna, we're

(30:07):
gonna upgrade our own house and really be able to
start marketing these things or these individual games to teams
or to fans of teams, like even the Seattle Mariners.
We know they're in first place, they're playing very good
baseball they have all season long, But how many times
do you really expect to see them on ESPN?

Speaker 1 (30:27):
True? Very true? So are you? I guess my question?
Follow up question you Williams. Are you glad that MLB
is cunning ties with ESPN? Do you like the move?

Speaker 4 (30:39):
I mean, I don't know if I like it or
dislike it, but from a business standpoint, I totally one
hundred percent get it?

Speaker 1 (30:46):
Good enough? Okay, Taylor, you commented on it before, but
you have anything that's changed from the last time we
spoke about it. We're refreshing your memory. MLB is getting
rid of ESPN. Of course, keep in mind ESPN's and
a d NHL, and they do a lot with the NBA.
All I can say is I do miss Chris Berman,
John Miller, and of course fill Morgan. You can do
nothing about it pass unfortunately, but that's some great Sunday

(31:07):
night cruise. But are you do you have any refreshing
thoughts on the topic.

Speaker 5 (31:13):
So, ESPN a few years ago was losing viewership, especially
on Sports Center and other talk shows like first Take
around the Horn part in the interruption and now they're
losing viewership on Sunday Night but baseball And now I
hear NBC is trying to pick pick that up. I don't.

(31:37):
I don't mind NBC or any other network picking up
on it. I think Sunday Night, Sunday Night Baseball concept
dessert does deserve, uh business wise, a new like a
fresher environment on a on a new on a different network.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
And I just.

Speaker 5 (31:58):
And MLB has been on a BC before, like like
in the nineties, from eighties to nineties. Just it just hasn't.
But that's the last I saw MLB on NBC back
in the nineties. That was like three decades ago. That
was a long time ago in my lifetime when I
was a kid. That's amazing. That was amazing. I don't
even saw the ninety six All Star Game on NBC

(32:22):
in Baltimore. It's crazy.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
Well, a lot of us are old. Note for remembering
when Kurkgaudi and Vin Scully, Gariziola.

Speaker 5 (32:31):
Ab Costas don't forget and.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
Momb Costas only for that great mind scle like I've
trained you that. Yeah, go ahead, Candy.

Speaker 3 (32:40):
One of ESPN's problems or difficulties has been that they
paid some of their high talent a lot of money,
which meant that they couldn't afford some of the other talent. Now,
when we look at some of the sports, there have
been some rates that have called games for years and

(33:04):
years and icons that have called games. Who calls Sunday
night games for MLB on ESPN right now?

Speaker 5 (33:13):
Cal Ravage?

Speaker 4 (33:14):
Yeah, Carl Ravage, and he's he's pretty good.

Speaker 3 (33:16):
Though, who else anybody? I mean, can you name all
of Like if I ask you who does MU, you're
gonna know all of And sometimes that's who draws people
in too.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
Is maybe you, like.

Speaker 3 (33:30):
I would say, and this might differ from all of
you guys, I don't know, but personally, I grew up
listening to Bob Bukerk call Milwaukee Brewer games, and I
obviously he's not around anymore, but there were there have
been a long time where we'd even turn the volume

(33:50):
down on the TV and listen to him on the radio.
So my question is, is there are a lot of people
that like that and then therefore don't like the now
national broadcast on ESPN, And maybe because it's not they're
not as well known broadcasters on the ESPN that people
aren't tuning in, or is it also on Sunday Night,

(34:12):
that there's other things, it's a family night, and if
they're not drawn in by the viewership, because I would say,
there are so many baseball games a year, whereas there's
some when like when you're talking about like the NFL
season and they play on Sunday, you're gonna watch it,
whereas maybe in the summer, Oh, you know what, I

(34:34):
can do this with my family because there's one hundred
and sixty two games, I can miss this Sunday night game.
So that could be another reason why ESPN isn't the viewership.
Isn't there Wow ahead finish. I'm just saying, yes that
were they smart to put the Yankees and Mets on

(34:56):
this Sunday that Sunday Night the Subway series? Of course,
of course those are two draws. But if you're gonna
put on, if you're gonna put on a team like
Seattle and the Marlins, who's watching that.

Speaker 1 (35:11):
Candy? The only thing I'll say about is they used
to have baseball Tonight on go lead in, the lead
in anymore, they just don't have it they're not putting
forth the effort to preview the games like they used
to get it. George, and I can relate to Ernie
her well if we really all know that as well
all the people that would replace National. I get everything
you're coming from. But es Began is taking shortcuts a lot.
Put the game up and that's it. That's all they

(35:33):
want to do. Georgia as the last word. But let's
go to the chat room real quick.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
Ratt.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
Ralph Williams is coming in a little bit, so I'll
let candy and rapid fire but his comments up and
then we can go from there. Okay, so he just
joined in the show. MLB has its own network and
on Fox. Okay. I listen to local broadcasters as well.
Join the club, and of course the first one. A
lot of players are getting into cannabis player places former Steeler.

(35:58):
The cast just open one. Yeah, I mean obviously it's
a is this after Thanks for joining us, Ralph? All right,
George has the final word. Have a lot of other
good stuff to get to. I wanted to make sure
that since it went from one extreme numbers to the
other from the w NBA, it wasn't a baseball I
really should. I think the whole big thing is I'm
just glad that MLB is getting rid of ESPN. I

(36:19):
really am. I think it's about time. If you're not
getting them their best effort, go somewhere else. That's all
they pretty much to say, George, you can finish the
topic other things to get that. Well.

Speaker 2 (36:29):
Yeah, I mean this is something that's been progressing or
you know, going on for years now, the lack of
creativity by ESPN slash ABC and covering MLB.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
There was a time way back in the day when
ABC and NBC split the coverage are rotated, like every
other year, one would get the World Series one, We'll
get the All Star Game. Well that that came to
an end. I think that there's just so many different
things up there, streaming services and watching movies and like
you said, Candy, a lot of family things or people

(37:03):
going out on Sunday night. And plus they're never gonna
draw the ratings on Saturdays and Sundays except for the
World Series on Sunday night. But I'm just saying, when
the NFL starts, like you mentioned, Sunday night football, well
then that's another disadvantage. And and I don't think ABC
wanted to deal with that, They didn't want to challenge
the NFL on Sunday night. They they and in fact

(37:25):
they got the Monday night package. But all this to say, yes,
I agree, I think it's time. I think it's It's
gonna be interesting to see if they're going to add
NBC to it, or possibly even CBS. I don't know,
but they have a good relationship with Fox right now.
They're probably gonna continue that. But for all of the
reasons you guys stated, you know, there's so much more

(37:46):
alternative things out there. If I got a local team,
I'm gonna follow a local team, not gonna worry about
watching a national game. Proliferation. There was a proliferation of
all these games on on baseball and.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
The Okay, we're gonna go back to basketball. And for Georgia,
it's just like old times, right New York. Next, Indiana
Pacers Indianapolis five hundred week, My goodness, we had a
lot of good times. We ended up seeing the game
market where arena right, I mean, once upon a time
it was torn down. Never been to the good place.

(38:20):
But you ever heard of Reggie Miller, Spike Lee. It's
so live. Nothing has happened to them yet, don't. Hopefully
he doesn't. But we can relate to that, right, George.
We had a good time watching the Pacers and the
and the next yes, the time of the year they
were here at Indianapolis, your Memorial Day weekend, and the
Pacers are paysing. Once upon a time they used to

(38:40):
have a team called the Indianapolis Racers. Bro you hockey
team out there. Of course, the only hockey person on
the planet is out there smoking cannabis. Now it doesn't matter.
Probably don't know about the Indianapolis Racers. But once upon
a time when Gretzky did play that a little fun.
But the reality of the situation is, here's what we
have going. Indiana is looking for first title and won

(39:01):
championships in the W and the ABA and the Familiarity
Faith by the name of Rick Carlisle is with Indiana
won the title in Dallas, Oklahoma City is seeking their
first title since moving to Oklahoma City. Once upon a time,
you ever heard of the Seattle Supers on it, Oh
my goodness, they were good. Yeah, Minnesota's looking for the
first ever title, you know as the Wolves. Once upon

(39:24):
a time they were the Minneapolis Lakers. We know how
that worked out. When in Minneapolis, former Minneapolis Lakers got
beaten up by the Wolves. Okay, the Wolves ate up
the Lakers. I don't know how you eat up a
Laker because it's water. I no wonder how the name
actually made it.

Speaker 4 (39:37):
They drunk them down exactly.

Speaker 1 (39:40):
Yeah, they got good. Remember those old big goals And
that was the different level there. And of course in
New York next eve A one one since nineteen seventy three,
much of the dis may of Stephen A. Smith, who
probably is the only guy on the planet who takes
care of his area. He doesn't have gray hair, despite
all the miseries that he's had. But there's beloved Dallas
Cowboys not okay, and a little loan of the fact

(40:03):
that his Nicks. He's a fair weather fan. But I
did meet him actually over at the Super Bowl, take
a picture, learned a lot of room trying to be
a little bit nicer than him.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
Not much.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
Can't role model. Everybody loved this. This is something you
role model. Either you have it or you don't, or
you have to know when to use it. But I
guess the question now that a ramble to all that
stuff George, you don't have to reminisce back there. The
only thing we have to reminisce is the fact that
Jim Nighbers saying the greatest back home in India. Lawrence
Sanderson was very nice over at the parade, and we

(40:32):
got to see some basketball on motorsports. We did we
did so and with all that, and I said all that,
who's going to break the longest rout? Who's taking that
long motor? About to get to who's gonna break the drum? Really?

Speaker 5 (40:45):
Theirs?

Speaker 1 (40:45):
Really? That's it me. You got to Willy, who's gonna
break the drum?

Speaker 4 (40:56):
Out of least four teams? Right right? That was a
rhetorical It was a rhetorical question, a little bit of yeah,
don't don't get me started on that. Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1 (41:14):
Now the one that we could get it started is
not You're probably gonna listen and listen later anyway. But
he's taking care of the others.

Speaker 5 (41:25):
Now.

Speaker 4 (41:25):
I like stuff, I like. I like okay ce. And
the reason why I say okay, see is because any
team that can defend the way that they defend, I'm
gonna always push my pile of money towards that team.
If I was a betting man. And not only do

(41:48):
they are they superior defensively, they're awfully deep. Uh, they're
very athletic. They've got a lot of bigs, a lot
of length, and Shae gilgis Alexander is the presumptive MVP.
That dude has ice water running in his veins. So

(42:08):
I say, okay, c out of the West and for
the East. I mean, I'm rolling with New York because
I kind of want to see them win at all.
I really do. But I don't know if they're gonna
have enough to necessarily get by Indiana first or Indianapolis.
I like to call the states that have teams to

(42:30):
bother city that they play in the Indianapolis Pacers. I
just think that that New York they have a little
bit of a matchup advantage in my pinion, over over
in Indiana or Indianapolis. So I'm gonna say, you're gonna

(42:52):
see the Knicks in the finals for the first time
since what nineteen ninety nine, And you're gonna see the
Thunder in the finals for the first time since two
thousand and what eleven twelve No. Eleven when Okase had
Russell KD and James Harden and none of those guys

(43:14):
are still there. And none of them oh well, James
and Russell hadn't won a title yet, and KD won
one because he defaulted to the team that he couldn't beat.
If he can't beat him, join him. That's what he did.

Speaker 1 (43:26):
It's true, so true. Oh I know, is I remember
the nineteen seventy nine Seattle SuperSonics and when they ended
up losing in seventy eighty seventy nine and Lenny Wilkins
as your coach and then Dick Mount on the other side.
Those are some great series.

Speaker 2 (43:40):
Back in the day.

Speaker 1 (43:41):
Amazing these people in the audience remember for those are
some great series. All right, Taylor, we may be over
your head on part of this part of it that
we're not over here. Who's going to break the drought?
That's all you need to know.

Speaker 5 (43:51):
Well, first off, before I answered that question, SG eight
did win the NBA NBA MVP, So yeah, I would,
I would say so. So that being said, right now,
the nixt League eighty five, eighty three, eighty seven, eighty three,
one seven third quarter that's on TNT and True TV Plus.

(44:16):
But man, that's a close one. It's gonna be it's
gonna come down to a game seven, but I'm gonna
I'm gonna pick the Knicks and seven. And then for
the Western Conference Finals, the Thunder and the Timberwolves. I
think I just think SGA and the Thunder are way
too much Thunder and four.

Speaker 2 (44:35):
All right, George, Well, yeah, first of all, I think
it's a great, great refreshing change of pace, Okay, for
for fans and for media like to see these teams
in there. Okay, So no LA and no Chicago, no,
you know, and on not. But the fact of the
matter is is that you take a look at the Knicks,

(44:57):
and I tell you what, I didn't realize that it
was that battle record. Okay, two championships, six losses. Okay,
So you're right, Scott, you mentioned nineteen seventy three, the
last time the Knicks won. Seventy three. You're kidding me,
Oh my god, do the math. It's forever forever for
a major city, a major team like the Knicks. Now,

(45:18):
they did get there in ninety four, and in ninety nine.
Of course we know they lost, so they've got a
lousy joint two fifty percentage in the NBA finals. All
just to say they got a big opponent. Man, this
Indiana team is hungry too. It's gonna be a war.
It's gonna be a war. I'm gonna go with Nixon
seven on that one, and I gotta go with my

(45:39):
man Willie. I cannot go against Okac. I mean, they
are playing some great basketball. I'm gonna go with them
winning their series, and it's gonna be a fun run
in these conference finals.

Speaker 3 (45:52):
Good Candy, okay see, I think is gonna come out
of the West. M As for the other side of things,
the Pacers took down my Milwaukee Bucks, and they did it.
You know, I watched a lot of those games. I

(46:14):
watched a lot of the Nick Pistons games. They both
play very scrappy ball. They both you know, it's not
like they're winning flashy. They're hustling all the time there.
I think it's going to be a close series, Like
you guys have all said that it's gonna go down

(46:36):
to seven. But I'm going to go against all of you, gentlemen.
And one thing that most of you don't know, and
Scott keeps reminding me of this, I was technically born
in Indiana. How can I go against my Indianapolis.

Speaker 1 (46:57):
I'm glad it came out of your mouth and not mine.

Speaker 2 (47:02):
Yeah, technically born an into that idea, and I love
it only.

Speaker 3 (47:09):
For a year and a half, so I don't really
relate to it. But yes, I was born.

Speaker 1 (47:13):
The birth certificates is Indiana, not West Not like we
can get out of that. George and I know where
we were born. I don't even know Herman keep her
hospitals still around where he used to pick mine.

Speaker 2 (47:27):
Off and Holy in Detroit for me, holy Cross they're gone.

Speaker 1 (47:32):
Line was hurt. Well, I was born in Sinai Hospital there.
That's the only thing Alzheimer's has an effect that where
I was born Where I'm going to end up later on,
Well that's actually Milwaukee. And Katie's waiting for a long
time down the road to the mostata information that mister
Owl doesn't take my Heimer's and send me quiet. But
that's besides the point.

Speaker 5 (47:52):
I'm not going down that quick.

Speaker 1 (47:53):
So all right, so here, I'll give it to you
this way. I love Rick Carlo Heart is rooting for
or the Indiana Pacers. But let me ask you guys
a question. Okay, I think the Knicks are there when
the O. J. Simpson. Thing got going too, right, Wasn't
that the old truck? Was that the old U the
white Bronco, White Bronco.

Speaker 2 (48:14):
Right?

Speaker 4 (48:15):
Yeah, you talk about cannabis at that time for Menabi.

Speaker 1 (48:20):
I don't know what I'm talking about. All I'm having
a good time today and I like the odds of
backerger that Willie. I'm for an entire show, which makes
it even better, which I love this guy. That's why
we got to do more stuff together, Willie. But I'm
gonna pull for Indiana. I have a heliy to get
it whitewashed by Oklahoma City. There are the Oklahoma City SuperSonics.
That's what I'm gonna call Oklahoma City Superstar. Gotta have it. Sattleson,

(48:43):
never watch the team in the first place, thinks they're
gonna get one of it. That's that. That's my piece
of relaxed mellow moments.

Speaker 2 (48:53):
Okay, you got it. During Game five, most NBC affiliates
split the coverage of the game between the NFL Hall
of Famer O. J. Simpson Slow Speed Freeway Chase and
the UH and the Elijah Land versus Ewing nineteen ninety
four NBA Finals. Very good, very good. You guys, remember
that that was Yeah, that was something that happened.

Speaker 1 (49:15):
On I can't forget O. J. Simpson. Nobody ever forgets them.
But I will say one thing about O. J. Simpson.
Many years ago, before all this other business came down,
he was one of my first major interviews over at
the Orange Ball when Howard Cosel turned me down with
a jerk. I never The only thing I didn't tell
Howard was why don't you change a two pay at
turn into?

Speaker 5 (49:30):
Yah?

Speaker 1 (49:31):
My god? And I never was smart enough to do that.
Oh but I never did that. But OJ Simpson was
nice and he gave me some time, and you did
a pretty good job. I never knew about the.

Speaker 5 (49:39):
Other business took care of later. I wouldn't care.

Speaker 1 (49:41):
But that's one of my prouder moments as a young
he it is, Ohjay, it was okay, rest of DAC
even though we know that you did it and he
can't come after me now, okay, Doki smoking and we
are smoking that night with some more topics anymore. Billy's
never seen scooter like this before.

Speaker 4 (50:02):
But boy, yes, I have yes, I have yes when
I watch you guys, when I'm off of a particular
particular night.

Speaker 1 (50:13):
Oh cool, it'd stop, all right, but now you get
the witness.

Speaker 4 (50:16):
Yeah, that's different.

Speaker 1 (50:17):
Scooter was there's a time when I was actually a
scooter when I was playing hockey way back in the day,
and I wasn't relaxed and well, I was really on fire,
like the Phoenix road Runners, which are probably in the
all right, I'm a two Sun road Runners. All right,
stay on the NDIA team a little bit. This is
the first Western Conference to be played outside of California

(50:39):
since nineteen ninety six Seattle against Utah. So you talked
a California that is well, can you believe it's been
that long that we've got all these Western Conference finals
and this is the first time? Is that ninety six?
And it was Seattle in Utah. ID like to throw
all these little facts out there. Nobody has to comment
on backs. Just want to make sure that we have
the smartest audiast on the planet. Of course, if you're

(51:00):
watching us, we know you're smart. If you're not watching us, okay,
feel free to watch it. We still think you're smart
because we're just glad they can have a fund of us.
Every Wednesday night at nine o'clock pm Eastern time. So
a couple other things I want to get to, and
I'm gonna talk about a non sports topic of the night.
I'm just gonna mention it. Anybody wants to talk about it, fine,
but the non sports topic of the night it comes

(51:21):
from Japan. Japan sets the Internet should be record at
four oh two terabytes a second using standard fiber opticon.
Do I know in any of those words mean? Nope,
but I know it's fast, just like Indian Fl's five hundred.
What do you think?

Speaker 4 (51:38):
Will I agree? I don't know what any of that
stuff means, but it sounds fast, and I honestly I
need to get my hands on it because of all
of the things that we have going on here. So
thank you to our friends in Japan for creating that.
Now let's see how much they're gonna be able to

(51:59):
sell it to the highest dinner.

Speaker 1 (52:03):
I mentioned it. I'm not going behind you because you
hit a other bulls eye that will relaxed today. I
thought that, Tyler, what do you think is that fast
or slow?

Speaker 5 (52:16):
One word? Interesting?

Speaker 1 (52:19):
Good enough? Okay, all right, Candy.

Speaker 3 (52:22):
That's fast.

Speaker 1 (52:28):
I'm glad this topic is short because then we have
my town, which is are some topic that candy when
I had created on Fire Up the Country Club.

Speaker 6 (52:35):
All right, George, Uh, I'm gonna say it's lightning fast, Okay,
Japanese people are doing those favor You need to get
it over here that way.

Speaker 1 (52:45):
All you people that are for it's any of the
things that they have a piano in the background, don't
have internet problems. And yes, I can't wait to see
the time comes that I corn go ahead and get
that Apple phone so we know it'll be fast and
furious and they'll technical problems. Noll, relax, my town.

Speaker 4 (53:04):
Tokyo drift.

Speaker 5 (53:05):
I agree, I need my own router. I need my
own router that way.

Speaker 1 (53:09):
And the Japanese thought of something to make and you know, well,
I think it's your first rodeo, which is my town thing.
Kenny came up with it on the country Club Fire Up,
and I think it's pretty good over on sports Trap
and the other stuff from but I love all right,
so you know what, Well, what's going on in your town?

Speaker 2 (53:31):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (53:32):
Well, the Rangers were on a bit of a winning streak.

Speaker 2 (53:35):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (53:35):
They finally pulled themselves above five hundred. The Dallas Stars
are in the Western Conference finals for I think the
second straight year, the Arlington Renegades of the u f
L are still doing Arlington Renegade things. And on a
on a more terrible note, the Dallas Cowboys, of course,

(53:58):
traded for George Pickens. I don't think it's gonna help
much because George Pickens is a diva. If you can't
play and be under control under Mike Tomlin, that who
tried to feature you in their offense, and now you're
coming to the Cowboys with a team coached by Brian
Schottenheimer who has never had any experience. I don't think

(54:22):
as a coordinator, let alone the head coach who wants
to be a sixty to forty run team. And you
get this guy and you got Ceedee Lamb on the
other side. Oh, I can't wait for the implosion here
in Dallas Fort Worth.

Speaker 1 (54:38):
I can't either know that he brought it up. Taylor.

Speaker 5 (54:43):
Well, the Tigers keep taking two out of three front
from the Blue Jays and the Cardinals two out of three,
two series in a row. After sweeping the Boston Red Sox,
they just keep on winning three and seventeen. While on
my on my off season edition of As the Wing

(55:05):
Wheel Turns the Red Wings, the man they're just trying
to find their metal toughness right now, while Dylan, they're captain,
Dylan Larkin winds about, you know, the team not gaining
any momentum during the trade deadline, while Tom McClellan criticizes
his own team yet again rightfully so, about lacking toughness

(55:27):
and Steve Eiserman. Yeah, of course he didn't do too
much of the trade deadline. But that's no reason for
Dylan Larkin to whind about it. You've got to play
effing hockey, like Tom McClellan said. The Pistons turn around season.
Of course, they just they finally want a playoff game. Yes,

(55:47):
I get it, but they need to stop turning the
ball over. And then the Lions, of course got their guys.
Tyler Williams. They yes, they waited until the sixth round,
had an edgebrusher like I'm at has and I but
he's really he's actually better than what most Alliance fans
may think.

Speaker 1 (56:10):
Candy, you began to segment. You know, it works. What's
going on in your town.

Speaker 3 (56:17):
Right now? In my town back in Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Admirals,
which are the National Predators affiliate, are in the playoffs.
They are playing tonight. It is Game three. The series
is tied one to one, but the Admirals are down
to nothing going into the third. The Brewers took two

(56:40):
out of three from the Oreos. They lost today in
eleven innings. Down here in Florida, the Panthers are in
the NHL playoffs and they took the first game last
night from the Hurricanes. I believe it was five to
two was the final score. That's kind of what happening.
I mean, we were at the Marlins game, two of

(57:04):
the Marlins games this past Sunday, and I do have
to say I said this on The Girls Show last night.
I continue, it continues to surprise me that I go
to Marlins games and I see things I've never seen before.
So I saw my first note here with the Marlins,
and now I saw my first immaculate inning. We're nine pitches,

(57:26):
nine strikes, And that was Sunday at the Marlins game.

Speaker 1 (57:33):
Cal Quanto. Yeah, I was on the watching that I'm
going to get to talk about one because I'm really
looking forward as the segment. You know what I like
about the segment. I'm gonna talk about something that nobody
will ever get around to talking because we have a
lot of good media distribution partner really do cover Uadership Florida,
your South Florida, or Atlantic Miami Hurricanes, just to name
a few, let alone a lot of major sports win

(57:56):
now covers many other anymore. As I pick and choose
what I want to do as time goes on, a
lot of that based on access to by the way.
But the one thing I'm going to go into Gainesville
with this one, Well, I'll talking about baseball, but you
get this. I have a good program up in Gainesville,
Mike Soula, and they win national championships in Florida. They

(58:17):
produce an awful lot of players. I tag Willie out
a lot of these things as well, and he's kind
enough to retweet these things. And one of the things
that I'm gonna actually put into the story out there
is a guy by the name of Liam Peterson who
struck out thirteen and Ranger's record at the time to
seven and two and a six four win over the
Arkansas Razorbacks. So get this, thirteen strikeouts in college. I

(58:40):
don't care if you're swinging a wooden bat. I don't
even care if you're going out there and swinging a
torpedo bat. And by the way, just an FYI, the
Atlanta Braves ended up getting some torpedo bats. They figured
they'd do well with the Yankees. I don't know how
that's working out, but the Atlanta Braids are part of
the torpedo bat family. We'll see how it works. I
don't even know, but I got it. I'm using that.

(59:02):
I've got a torpedo bat and alumina bat wood bat.

Speaker 2 (59:05):
Go man.

Speaker 1 (59:05):
That was a month ago, so what better late than never?
So what did you know you did? Because yeah, of course,
of course you're on baseball you better know that stuff.

Speaker 5 (59:17):
Yeah, of course we talked about it. I've read about it,
notifications on my phone. There's nothing illegal about it.

Speaker 1 (59:24):
No, not only illegal, but it so I don't care
if you're wearing a torpo you're using a torpedo at.
And I don't like the Atlanta braser doing thirteen strikeouts.
And doesn't matter what piece of hardware you're using. It
pretty pretty good. So the bottom line is is Liam
Peterson great. Stop looking forward to me and reading more
of the releases coming out of the University of Florida

(59:45):
the Gators ahead.

Speaker 3 (59:50):
Can I be back to my town. I want to
make one one more announcement. I don't know if you
guys all heard, but the Wisconsin Badgers they are playing
No Day next year and twenty twenty six. They have
decided to move the date from September fifth to September
sixth because they're going to go play at lambeau Field.

(01:00:12):
So how cool is that? Playing Notre Dame at lambeau
Field September sixth, twenty twenty six.

Speaker 4 (01:00:18):
Brilliant marketing, right there is.

Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
I agree, Willie, Notre Dame plane Atlanta. Sense you haven't
sports a change the crew towards Iycorn Katy like Taylor Phillips,
mister Minton, Well, yeah, dang legend over at Shakepack Media
Group going for a long time. They have a lot

(01:00:41):
of fun. They keep having fun every Wednesday night, praise
top Bill at the end of the Showy George's gotta go. Well,
so I forgot I did that on purpose. Yeah, I know,
I had to see if it was not his toes
there or playing the band off.

Speaker 2 (01:01:00):
I'm going to just throw out some names and I
just I think this is fascinating. All these teams that
used to be in Detroit. Okay, did Detroit Wolverines, the
Detroit Lightning, the Detroit Drive did, Hetroit Turbos did, Detroit
Rockers did. Detroit Safari and Neon did. Detroit Vipers did,
Detroit Fury, the Detroit Ignician, the Detroit Cougars, the Detroit

(01:01:24):
Express did he tried Shock? Did he trit Demolition? The
Michigan Panthers, Well now they're back. The Michigan Stags, Detroit Wheels,
Detroit Loves, Detroit Caesars, Detroit Auto Kings, and Detroit Softball City.
Those are all the teams that tried, maybe some not

(01:01:44):
very successfully, to play in a league in Detroit.

Speaker 5 (01:01:48):
I thought it was don't forget the Detroit Falcons.

Speaker 2 (01:01:51):
Falcons.

Speaker 5 (01:01:52):
That was before they changed their That was that was
before they changed their name to the Red Wings.

Speaker 1 (01:01:58):
Yes, in nine, part of the same franchise. They've had
enough on them that failed. Don't put the Falcons in there.

Speaker 2 (01:02:06):
I forgot one more. I can't believe I forgot the
Detroit Stars of the old Negro League.

Speaker 5 (01:02:11):
Yep, exactly here you go, all right, Well, that's okay,
that's it.

Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
I just thought I throw some names.

Speaker 1 (01:02:19):
Well you did that, but I'm not hashtaging because they'll
probably never pick him up anyways.

Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (01:02:23):
I get as many as I can, you know, so
I have my hand working pretty good. Got a lot
of them out there. Hashtags are fun actually to keep
my might, keep my head into the game. So but
I did that purposely to see if you were on
your feet or playing the piano, because we know you
don't have a phone that really works anyways. That's another
way to embarrass him on there, to get an Apple's phone.
That's okay, I corner and I can get along with that. Well,

(01:02:44):
he's just getting used to this stuff, and we know
he's eating it alive. His scooter is scooting over. Mister Eichord,
who's pretended the Beethoven? Did Beethoven used to play the piano?
I think?

Speaker 4 (01:02:55):
I don't know, Yes he did.

Speaker 1 (01:02:58):
Where do I come up with Beethoven? Oh? Well, I
have a stupid Are you talking.

Speaker 4 (01:03:01):
About Beethoven the musician or Beethoven the dog?

Speaker 1 (01:03:06):
I thought it was Beethoven and musician, wasn't it?

Speaker 2 (01:03:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:03:09):
Beethoven, isn't it?

Speaker 1 (01:03:12):
I don't know. Don't get me started with all the music.
I just know there was a Beethoven someplace.

Speaker 4 (01:03:15):
It is.

Speaker 1 (01:03:16):
I just know that when people ask me about Pond's delion,
I say, po, I mean I don't know how.

Speaker 5 (01:03:21):
To play piano as well.

Speaker 1 (01:03:24):
Don't forget your music lesson. Okay, I don't want to,
but I kind of make sure I got I have
the conscious of time here with Lily. So with that said,
this is a really tough question. We didn't do it
over Memorial Day on weekend, mister.

Speaker 4 (01:03:34):
E When is Memorial Day or week Monday? Like Monday?

Speaker 5 (01:03:40):
Yeah, yeah, Monday. Every month, every last Monday in May
is Memorial Day.

Speaker 4 (01:03:44):
I'm just joshing.

Speaker 1 (01:03:47):
Don't mention the word Josh. He's gone now, Josh.

Speaker 4 (01:03:51):
No, I actually will be out of the country really, Yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:03:57):
Maxico, Mexico, Yes, Porta mm hmm good good goodo Mexico.

Speaker 4 (01:04:15):
M hm.

Speaker 1 (01:04:15):
It's up about you, Taylor.

Speaker 5 (01:04:18):
Well, I'm just staying here, that's it.

Speaker 1 (01:04:22):
What about you?

Speaker 2 (01:04:23):
Like, Yeah, I'm staying in town. Web a barbecue or
something like that. Yeah, let's remember what this day is
all about the men and women of our country who
gave their life for our country. Thank you exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:04:38):
I don't forget that anyways.

Speaker 4 (01:04:40):
One quick thing on that too. I don't know if
anybody else on here is the military but I am
a vet, and we need to educate people to not
say happy Memorial Day because there's nothing there's there's it's
not meant to be happy. It's meant to be in
remember rents, you know what I mean. So just kind

(01:05:03):
of educate the audience out there on that.

Speaker 1 (01:05:06):
Well, I hope everybody has a good weekend period. Willie.
You are right, boy. You always catch me in my tracks.
I don't know it wasn't my tracks. I really I
think it's crazy weekend. I do because you at least
you get the three days off. You don't have to
use the acronym. T B I am. You know what
that's that for? Tv im?

Speaker 4 (01:05:26):
TB I am Taylor. Can I borrow your microphone so
I can try to diagnose with that what that means?

Speaker 5 (01:05:34):
Magnifying glass?

Speaker 1 (01:05:35):
You got my microphone for anybody? iPhone?

Speaker 4 (01:05:38):
Do I say microphone?

Speaker 2 (01:05:39):
Said?

Speaker 4 (01:05:40):
Yes, you have mercy. I meant to say magnifying glass.
All right, is getting close to my cutoff time? That's
what it is?

Speaker 1 (01:05:48):
No, we got five minutes. It's okay, at least I
think I don't know? All right? Anyways, you know what
TB I am is no good? I'm glad you're recording this.
Everybody can hear it. Okay to mad it's Monday. There
you go.

Speaker 4 (01:06:01):
Oh okay, well there you go.

Speaker 1 (01:06:03):
Now you're recording. Now they all get to hear first time. Okay,
what are we doing? I'll tell you what, Kenny, you
can answer the question for both of us. Who's coming
to town?

Speaker 3 (01:06:12):
Not My brother is actually coming to town with his wife.
So we do not know something. What we're gonna be
going out to eat Sunday night. Who knows exactly what
our plans are Sunday, but it's together with family.

Speaker 1 (01:06:27):

him off before its cut out time. And if I'm
looking at my it's ten seventeen and I have thirteen
