Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Drew McIntire.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
You're listening to sports guys talking wrestling when they're not
covering the sports world. They're talking about the world or
professional wrestling. It's sports guys talking wrestling. Now here's Stu Myrie.
It is sports guys talking wrestling. Stu Myrick here. Thank

(00:24):
you so much for joining me on this Tuesday, the
twelfth of August, just a few weeks before the start
of football season college football. The Texas Longhorns preseason polls
number one, and they're an underdog against Ohio State on

(00:48):
August thirty. First, that's crazy August thirty. Excuse me. We
got a lot, got a lot to talk about with
wrestling this week. Let's start with this. This happened the
day after I recorded last week's episode. ESPN and WWE

(01:09):
are now bedfellows. ESPN reaches an agreement they will be
the new home for all premium live events in WWE
starting in twenty twenty six. I believe they're starting with
WrestleMania in twenty twenty six, rest mallon forty two, which
will take place in Las Vegas. Reportedly, it is a

(01:34):
five year deal one point six billion dollars. That billion
with a b works out till about three hundred and
twenty five million dollars a year. The events will stream
on ESPN's upcoming direct to consumer app, which is supposed
to debut in about a week and a half next

(01:58):
Thursday or Friday, something like that. There will also be
select events that will air on the Worldwide Leader, on
ESPN or one of its networks. I mean this is
you know, this is huge both for the ww and ESPN.

(02:20):
Let's not forget ESPN just acquired the NFL Network and
NFL Red Zone, so they're taken over part of NFL
Media's assets. Now they get the they get all the
ww pay reviews or pls, whatever you wanna call them.

(02:40):
Let's see. Uh. I'll read directly from the press release,
and it was funny. The press release came from ESPN.
Espn DTC service will stream all wwpls annually in their entirety,
with select simulcasting on ESPN linear platforms. Marquee pls include
Wrestle and SummerSlam, both Ju Night Events, and Royal Rumble

(03:03):
Survivor series Money in the Bank, among others. Ww will
continue to bruise produce all pls. So again, this starts
in twenty twenty six, I don't say. Okay, so it

(03:23):
says it will include Russemani, but I don't know if
it starts the beginning of twenty twenty six, So could
we see the next year's Royal Rumble on ESPN. We'll see.
As of right now, it does not include the video
library yet. I believe it was. It was Jimmy Petaro,

(03:50):
who is the chairman of ESPN has has expressed interest
in it right now. That type library, I think it
lives pretty much on YouTube. WW has these different vault
channels WW Vault, w cw Vault, NXT Vault, and I

(04:11):
think all the all those old videos reside there now
as far as the tape libraries for like the aw
A World Class Mid South you know out you know,
once WW network went down, haven't really seen much of those.

(04:31):
So uh, this is a big deal. So you know,
Pels will continue to be on Peacock for the rest
of this year. Peacock will still have SmackDown since SmackDown
still on Friday nights on USA Network. USA Network course
part of NBC Universal, So so SmackDown will air it

(04:56):
will you know, once it airs on Friday night. It
will be on Peacock the following day. Of course, Netflix
has Raw and this is domestically, so this is a
here in the United States. They still have all the
deals you know all over the world, but this is

(05:16):
this is pretty major. I mean again, one point six
billion dollars. That's that's a pretty hefty price to pay
for wrestling it And of course what's ironic is just
a few days ago UFC, who is of course part

(05:37):
of TKO with WWE, they signed a deal to give
the US broadcast rights to Paramount Slash, Sky Dance, Guidance
course just marriage with Paramount the home of CBS as
well as other networks. It is a I forget how
many years, seven point seven billion again b billion. This

(06:03):
will include thirteen numbered events and thirty UFC Fight Night specials.
Now here's the here's the kicker. So those you know,
which are currently done on pay per view through ESPN,
will now be streamed on Paramount Plus. So if you
are a subscriber to Paramount Plus, you'll get to see

(06:25):
all those events. It's so so they will be basically
be adopting what ww did with Peacock. Interesting and and
that's the thing with with the ESPNWWE thing. So if

(06:46):
you are a subscriber to their d you know, direct
to consumer app, which I think it's gonna be twenty
nine ninety nine a month that you'll strength you'll get
those included now now there and there's been conflicting reports,
but basically I think the most recent report is if

(07:08):
you have ESPN via a a certain you know, via
certain cable or satellite companies or streaming services, then you
won't pay the twenty nine ninety nine you'll get it included.
Now I have YouTube TV, I think as of right
now that's not they're not included. I gotta believe they're

(07:30):
that will be fixed eventually. Nevertheless, t KO make you
know they're Uh, they're making some some dollars so huge stuff,
all right, Uh, this whole thing with carrying carrying a
cross and scarlet Bordeaux. So in case you have been

(07:52):
living under a rock, their ww contracts expired on Sunday
two days ago, forty eight hours ago. There was there
was a lot there's been a lot of talk. Will
they get a new deal once they get a new deal?

(08:14):
Is this a work? Is this a shoot? Is this?
You know there's been a lot of speculation. As it
stands right now, it is around eight fifteen pm Central
on Tuesday, August twelfth. As it stands right now, it
is legitimate Carrying Cross aka Killer Cross aka Calvin Cross

(08:38):
and Scarlett Bordeaux are no longer contracted to WWE. Their
deals are expired, which means they can sign with anybody, AWTNA, MLW,
you name it. There's there, there are on YouTube. Carrie

(09:02):
Cross did this. It's called The Killer Part one and two.
Basically it's his his own documentary and I think it
centers around so he had a book published like a biography.
I think it's through E c W Press, and so
this documentary shows him doing the you know, the meet

(09:23):
and greets and the you know, the book signings and stuff,
and the second and the second part of it, which
was released on on Sunday, and it was titled my
WW contract is up. Now there's been a lot of
speculation or is is this a is this legitimate or

(09:46):
are they trying to do kind of a work type
deal almost similar to what happened with Our Truth. I
tend to lean towards the fact. I tend to lean
towards the notion that it is legitimate that Cross and

(10:07):
Scarlett are no longer a part of WW Could they
come back? We will see, I'll be honest, and and
this is you know, from everything I've heard, and you
know so I do. I co host on the Mark
Coke Show with Mark Coke, which is on Sundays from

(10:29):
ten am to noon Central eight to ten am Pacific
on KATE on FM in Las Vegas. Carry Cross is
you know, out of Las Vegas and everything you hear,
and it showed in that in the video he posted.
He is a genuinely good guy. He seems like a
genuinely good guy. I've I met him once. This was

(10:52):
in twenty eighteen at Kalifall Islley Club. He was there
to receive an award and he was just breaking out.
I mean this was he was still an indie wrestler
at the time. I think he was about to latch
on de Lucha Underground at the time and TNA or
Impact Wrestling at the time. But I will say this,

(11:19):
so last night on Raw, which you know and you
know I I kind of you know, I checked in
on it. There were a few signs, but there were
no we want Cross chants, kind of like you know,
like what we heard on the post show after SummerSlam,

(11:42):
there were no chances, and I wonder how much of
a cry there will be to bring Carry and Cross
and Scarlet back to WWE wrestling fans are you know,

(12:02):
they are kind of known to well, we're gonna move
on to the next thing. And in fact, look at
our truth our truth contract expires. You heard the chance,
then we want truth, we want truth whatever and all
the fervor and Nick conn apparently had to step in
to get Ron Killings back and they had this short

(12:26):
lived where he changed his character, you know, and cut
off his dreads and everything, and then now it's back
to you know, he was backstage greeted John Cena after
John Cena turned babyface and they had a little fun there.

(12:47):
But other than that, we haven't really seen truth a lot.
So yeah, they've kind of moved on. And I get
the sense that they'll move on from Crossing Border and Scarlett.
I could be wrong. Let's see, let's see if they

(13:11):
if he if they sign him in a week, let's
see what happens. But I don't know now, of course,
assuming this is real, and it is, you know, and
he is gonna be he's gone from w W, where
where does he end up? Because he's still he's still

(13:33):
he's still active in the ring. He can still work,
he can I've heard, you know, I think some of
the some of the banter say is say he should
go to TNA. He had a he had a stanton
TNA before. I'm not I think if if you believe

(13:56):
the rumors, he may not have left on the best
of terms. But it's a different regime now, I don't.
I mean, you know, it's it's the it's the you know,
kind of the quick reaction. Okay, if someone leaves ww O,
they're gonna go to AW. The problem is, I don't
know where he gets slotted in the AW is is

(14:23):
as crazy as it sounds. I mean, AW has had
has a pretty bloated roster even now, and I don't
know where you put him. I just I don't know.
It's he doesn't he doesn't seem like the type of
guy Tony Con would sign. I could be totally wrong,

(14:43):
but yeah, I think maybe, yeah, maybe his next best
landing spot might be TNA. Like I said, we'll see,
we shall see. Uh. So Fox just aired They're Special,
The TMZ Special the real Hulk Hogan. In fact, he

(15:06):
just ended twenty minutes ago. Vince McMahon was among the
people interviewed. They had interviews from Selester Stallone and Bill Goldberg, mcfoley,
Charlotte Flair, Jimmy Hart, and Vince. The first thing I'll

(15:26):
say is Vince looks. He looked. He looked kind of rough.
I mean, he he was dressed to the nines and
everything he's his hair is black except for a tuft
of silver or gray and up front, and I don't
know if that's him letting his hair go gray or

(15:47):
if that was colored. But otherwise he looks like he
looks like a seventy seven, seventy eight year old man.
I don't think there was if you are, if you
are a wrestling fan and followed wrestling for a long time,
I don't think you will. It didn't really divulge anything

(16:13):
that you didn't already know. Most everybody came to Hogan's defense.
In fact, Mark Henry, our dear friend, of course, not
only not only one of the hosts on Busted Open
on Serious six M, also the co host on the

(16:34):
morning kickoff on AM thirteen hundred Zone Here in Austin
with my cards. That was the closest to you know,
voicing disappointment. And there were several that voice disappointment because
of course they you know, yes, they go over the
highlights of his career and you know, beating the Iron
Chic in Madison Square Garden, you know him, and Andret

(16:56):
WrestleMania three, him and Rock wrestlming he eight and all
that gets all the highlights. They also addressed his as
they characterized it, missteps using the racial slurs, the sex tape,

(17:19):
and several of them did voice disappointment. Mark Henry was
very vocal about his disappointment. Now he in fact, he
gave he talked about how he had a plan for
Hogan to basically make good to show he's not a racist,

(17:42):
and it involved him them, he and Mark going around
to some of the historically black colleges and universities and
doing speaking engagements and talk to the students and everything.
And Hogan thought, you know, he said he couldn't couldn't
talk about it anymore. Even Vince talked about when they

(18:04):
removed him from w w N, the w N the
Hall of Fame after that incident. Of course, then he
was Welcome Back interesting, Vince. They showed when Hogan got
booed on the raw premiere on Netflix back in January.

(18:25):
Vince said he was angry about that. He said something
to the fact that that's not the way I would
have presented him, which I'm going, Okay, well, how would you?
I mean that, what what kind of difference would it
have made? But apparently he he would have done something different.
Not that again, not they have made any difference. Nevertheless,

(18:49):
it was I mean it was. It was an interesting show.
Is a one hour one hour watch pretty easy. As
I said, if you if you've been a fan again
and you didn't hear anything that you haven't heard before,
it was interesting. Jimmy Hart talking about Hogan's interactions with

(19:12):
Make a Wish Kids when he would do the wishes
for Make a Wish Foundation and talked about how emotional
he would get afterwards, you know, realizing that that kid,
you know, if they when when w W comes back
to that town, that kid may not be there, it
may not be around. It was interesting all in all,
Like I said, it was a good show. It was

(19:32):
a good watch. And if you if you don't know,
if you're not and if you don't know a lot
of the history. It's pray, pretty good, pretty good watch.
But again, most most wrestling fans, if you followed it,
you know as heavily as as some of us do.

(19:53):
Like I said, it's uh, like I said, you probably
won't learn much much, you know, anything new. So I'm
gonna take a quick time out when I come back.
Let's get into the ring with ww and talk about
what's been happening there. That's next on Sports Guys Talking Wrestling.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
We all want to go big then say that, yeah, boy,
we're doing big things. Is w w E Superstar Big
e And you're listening b to Sports Guys Talking coming
up some mouse watch me.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
Welcome back to Sports Guys Talking Wrestling. Steve Myrick here,
as I mentioned, let's talk about what's been happening inside
the ring in WWE. Uh. We'll start with SmackDown this
past Friday, so we now know, well, we know one
match that's gonna happen at Clashing Paris on August thirtieth,
and we've got a pretty good idea of another match.

(20:59):
So it started John Cena cutting the promo talking about
how you know, talk about he was afraid he's afraid
of Brock. He's afraid of you know, when he leaves,
people won't remember him. I mean, it was pure baby
face promo. He was great. Well, then here comes Logan Paul,
Here comes Drew McIntyre there, and they talked trash and

(21:21):
then they they or it was Logan Paul talking trash,
and then Drew McIntire sneaks up and attacks Sena, and
then here comes Cody Rhodes. They set up the main event,
you know, that night, Cody and John taking on Logan Paul,
Drew backintire. That match happens Shenanigans, Logan, Paul and John

(21:45):
Cena fight their way to the back. Meanwhile, Drew McIntyre
a tax, Cody kicks him through the monitor that's on
front of the announced desk. So it is going to
be John Sena at Clash and Parents Clash in Paris
facing Logan Paul, not Brock Lessner, which I'm going, okay,

(22:13):
you brought Brock back and now okay, well I think
we know why, and that's coming up here in just
a bit. As I mentioned, Drew mcautarre attacking Cody at
seems like it hasn't been officially announced, but seems like
that's going to be Cody's title defense, his first title
defense since winning back the title at Clash and Parents

(22:35):
Uh Paris. Cody Cody, Orge Drew McIntyre. Now, as I
as I mentioned, so it's not Sena versus Lessner at
Clash in Paris. There are reports floating on the various

(22:55):
wrestling websites that WW wants to do a premium live
event with John c universus brock Lesnar as the main
event on Saturday, September twentieth. Now, if that date sounds familiar,
that's because that's the same day as AW All Out

(23:17):
in Toronto. So seemingly, once again, WW wants to try
to counter program against AW talked about it the last
time they did this Saurday night's main event. Yeah, the
events in Atlanta going up against all in Texas and

(23:41):
how it failed miserably. I have the sneaking suspicion I
think it'll fail again because as as much of a
moment as it was there at Metlane, i've stadium with
brock Lesnar coming out, the prospect of seeing Sena versus

(24:06):
Brock again, a match that has been seen multiple times
in the past, I'm not sure how how many people
are gonna be clamoring for that match now? As of
right now, we do not know what, you know, we
don't even know what the card's gonna look like for
all out. They're still trying. They're building towards forbidden door

(24:28):
within the Japan, so they haven't even addressed aw aloud.
But I don't know. It just kind of it just
feels like it feels like they're gonna they're gonna try
it again, and I think it's gonna fall short of expectations,
but we'll see. Let's see what else? Uh that was?

(24:49):
I mean SmackDown and Raw both, it feels a little
like they're trading water. They're okay shows, but nothing nothing,
you know, big and Yes, coming off Summer Slam, there's

(25:09):
there's always kind of a lull, like you know, Solo
Socoa and the m f TS, which I still don't
know what that means. I don't when I hear m
f T, I'm thinking of the crypto stuff that you know,
you like, buy and sell whatever. I don't think that's

(25:30):
what I don't think that's what they they're referring to.
But this the it just feels flacked. Sami Zay gets
the win. On SmackDown, they're in Montreal. Solo comes out
and then Sammy Zain beats him, gets one, two three.

(25:51):
And then Raw on Quebec City, Sammy's battling Russeph and
then here come the m f TS, your Solo and
Taalatoga and Tonglow and everybody, and they're gonna be and
they're beating up Sammy. All right, whatever, I guess I

(26:12):
wasn't that impressed. Uh. Something else happened on Raw. Naomi
the current women's World champion. She was slated to face
EO Sky. Well, it came out just before Raw, like
a couple hours before Raw, that Naomi was not medically cleared.

(26:36):
Now what that means, we have no idea. There has
been no report, there's been nothing on an entry even
through fight full or Wrestling Observer or those sites. There
hasn't been any clarification. It's just that she wasn't cleared.

(26:58):
I did see something, you know, the ww's they were
promoting all the different podcasts they do, and Stephan Mann's podcast.
I think this week is supposed to have Jimmy Usso
and and Naomi. Do we hear something about it? Then?
I don't know, but it just seems seems weird that yes,

(27:22):
she's not medically clear, but we don't know why not
to mention there's a lot of skepticism now with Seth
Rawlins faking his injury. Now you don't know what to believe,
and it's just it's kind of messy. We all said.
So it was ross started with seeing Punk cutting promo.

(27:46):
You know, he had the title and then gets cashed
in on by Seth. And then here comes La Knight
because La Knight had the match last week and Punk
came in, and then here comes Jay Usso who also
wants to rematch, and so or it was it was
so it was, it was the It was Paul Hayman

(28:08):
and the Bronson reading bron Breaker. The bron Brons an
called him and they end up, you know, making a
match Punk and Night against Bronson reading bron Breaker. So
they get to the match and Shenanigan's happened. Here comes

(28:29):
Seth and then here comes Jay us So and then
you know they beat him up and stop and you know,
the the vision is as they are called now, Seth
and the bron Brons standing tallty in the in the show. Okay, well,

(28:50):
and then and then Adam Pierce comes out. Okay, is
that's the way you want it. It's going to be
a fatal four way at Clash in Paris, seth Rawlins
defending the World Heavyweight Champions against unk Uh Jay Usso
and l A Knight, and then you have them, you know,
tussling and then the and it all felt kind of lazy.

(29:17):
It was. It was kind of one of those things.
And maybe maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm just I
don't want to see. You know, We've been seeing a
lot lately of the can they coexist teams and they
end up not I guess, the exception being Charlotte Flair
and Alexiblizz. But it just I don't know. I they

(29:41):
announced that for for Clash in Paris, and I'm going, yeah,
I mean, nobody in the right mind believes Cess gonna
lose the title, so it's kind of like, why do
I bother? I mean, we know Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre,

(30:01):
which again probably be a good match, but Cody's not
losing that title, so I don't know. I get the
field and look, it'll be Paris, so the crowd there
in France will be hot. They'll get a huge house
and they'll tout you know, big Gate and YadA and
merchandise and YadA, YadA YadA, which is fine, but as

(30:27):
a show as appeally, and you know, streaming it on Peacock,
I'm not exactly gonna be clamoring. Besides, that's that's the
first weekend in college football. I'm gonna be watching. I'm
gonna be watching college football. I mean, Texas, Ohio State
was the l s U and is it Clemson? I think,

(30:50):
I don't know. It's gonna be a good day of
college football. So I'm i'm an just catch the highlights.
We'll see. Uh. Bailey cuts this promo on raw. She's
sitting there in the lake somewhere talking about how she
is to disappointing herself and you know, she's feeling low

(31:13):
and she's lost, and then it goes it fades black
and then you hear kind of the evil cackle. Is
it t Are we teasing a Bailey heel? Turn? Are
we seeing them? Are we gonna see Bailey go back
to being a heel? I don't know. I guess we'll see.

(31:38):
I guess it could happen. So this Saturday Triple A
having Triple Mania thirty three this Saturday, nine pm Eastern
EPM Central on ww's YouTube channel. It will be the
first Triple A event under the WW banner. Corey Graves

(31:58):
and jbl on English commentary for the show. Matches are
ours follows. In a fatal four way, El Hil the
Kingo defending the Triple A Mega Championship against Dragon Lee
Dominic Mysterio in El Grande Americano, which one though, uh so,
that'll be a fatal four way. In a street fight,

(32:19):
Los Garza, Berto and Angel will defend the Triple A
Tag team titles against Pegano and Psycho Clown in a
triple threat match for the Reigna Durana's Championship. Flemaire defending
against Fabia Apace and Italia El Messius defending the Latin

(32:39):
American Championship against El Hilda, Doctor Wagner Junior in a
six person tag Nino am Burguesa, Mister Iguana and Lola
Wes from NXT facing the Judgment days Finnbaler, j D.
Mcdonna and Roquel Rodriguez. You know, Roxane Perez will be
in tow and then we'll have a Copa Bardall match.

(33:03):
It's similar to real rumble. Eliminations are by pinfall, last
person standing wins the Copa Bardall or the Doll Cup.
That's Triple Mania this Saturday, nine pm Eastern a pm Central.
See it on ww's YouTube channel, with Corey Graves and
JBL providing English commentary. I'm a step aside for a moment.

(33:26):
When I come back, Let's talk a little ae w
next on Sports Guys Talking Wrestling.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
This is Martel Vintageous Porter m VP, and you're listening
to Sports Guys Talking Wrestling.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
He break rules, Sweet break checks, speed break all, Sweet
break legs.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
We break back. Here on Sports Guys Talking Wrestling is
go into a little w or excise me AE. First off,
our dear friend the natural Dustin Roads sending out a
tweet today quote pre op work being done on my
knees today. Had some shots in the nerves. Hurts like

(34:15):
a bitch, but now my knees feel no pain at
the moment. Can't wait for August twenty first to get here.
Tired of this pain. Plus the hole in my leg
is almost healed, thank god, so looks like August twenty first.
That's when he will go under the knife for knee replacement.
I think it's double knee replacement if I'm not mistaken.

(34:38):
I know that they've got a Road Wrestling Association event
this Sunday, which i'll cover here in a bit. I'm
pretty sure he'll be there. So but you know, again,
we love him. I love him. He's a dear, dear friend.
So I want all the best for Dustin. He's still

(34:58):
got a he he's got a lot of time left
on that AW deal and he wants he wants to
come back and still perform. So I have all the
faith in the world he's gonna come back and he will.
So all the best to our dear friend, the natural
Dustin Roads as he gets ready for double needy replacement.
AW has announced Title Tuesday. It will be a special dynamite. Now,

(35:24):
this is gonna happen in October, so that's during the
Major League Baseball playoffs. Uh, so that's you. Sometimes that
will get shifted. This is one of them. So, uh,
Title Tuesday Dynamite it would take part as it will
take place as part of their AW. I'm coming at
Daily's Place in Jacksonville on Tuesday, October seventh. Collision will

(35:45):
be the very next night, also in Daily's place. I
don't know if he'll air on Wednesday or Phil Air
on the on that Saturday uh after, but Title Tuesday,
so though I'm sure there will be some title title matches.
As many tillers as they got, I'm sure they will
plush let's see they so that'll be wrestle dream. They'll

(36:09):
be next on the card, so it'll be that'll be
that'll be interesting. They have also announced they're gonna be
a part of Galaxy Con that will be in Columbus,
Ohio in December. You'll have Ring of Honor Final Battle,
the traditional last pay per view of the year for
Ring of Honor, that will be on Friday, December fifth,
and then eight to Collision on Saturday, December sixth at

(36:32):
Galaxy Con in Columbus, Ohio. Should be a fun, fun atmosphere.
It's gonna be a there's a ballroom there, which they've
been doing a lot of ballrooms here lately, so that'll
be I'm sure it'll be electric. Crowd should be up
for that one. That'll be fun to see. I they've
had this tournament tag team tournament to determine who's going

(36:56):
to face the Hurt Syndicate at Forbidden Door for the
aw World tag team titles brody King and Bandido beating
the Young Bucks. By the way, I mean, how much
of you love the Young Bucks now? I mean it
is hilarious. I mean the stuff they're doing, and this
is look Nick and Matt are. They are great at

(37:17):
making fun of themselves. They you know they they you
know you had the They went with the whole EVP entrance,
but then the little screen comes up just a little
bit of the way, so they had to crawl on
their knee and they asked for Pyro. Well you hear
this big bang? And then not nobody shot a Roman candle?

(37:38):
One little flair? Over?

Speaker 1 (37:42):
Was it?

Speaker 2 (37:43):
Last week? When they came out, the lower third just
said talent name social media record. This time it said
Max and Jeremy. Now, for those that have followed the
Young Bucks, I mean, and you gotta be following Young
Bucks for a long time. That is a callback to

(38:06):
when they were Max and Jeremy Buck collectively known as
Generation Me all the way back in TNA wrestling. So
loving it. And then on top of it, they lose
to Brody King and Bandido, which I was kind of
hoping because I think they're the hotter team right now.

(38:27):
Uh so, you know, and it's kind of you know,
we talked about, you know, the young bucks start and
make the decline, you know. So I mean, but yeah,
God bless Matt and Nick. It's they're it's hilarious. Meanwhile,
Brodi King Bandido they're calling him Brodido. They're gonna face
FTR in the finals of that tournament. Now that match

(38:48):
has not been announced, the date had not been announced
or win but if we FDR versus Brodie King Bandido,
the winners get hurt syndicate at Forbidden Door, so that'll
be interesting. Alex Winsor beat Queen Amanada, Skyblue and Billy Starks,

(39:10):
so she will be the ae W wrestler in the
four way TBS title match at Forbidden Door, where Mercedes
Monet will defend against now Alex Winsor from AW along
with somebody from CMLL and somebody from Stardom. By the way,

(39:30):
in case you haven't seen the video, Mercedes Monage, do
you sow Athena who now runs Metroplex Wrestling up in
Bedford up in the Dallas war Worth area. She ran
an all women's event called Who Runs the World, and
so she is in the ring. I think she was
announcing like a new title from Extroplex Wrestling. It's I

(39:53):
think it's called the American Josie Championship. All sudden, the
CEO music hits. Here come Mercedes Monette with that TBS
Championship around her waist, gets in the ring. Athena and
Mercedes do the Ceo dance, which, okay, that was that
was interesting. But yeah, cool to see Mercedes Monette showing

(40:16):
up in the Metroplex. That was cool. We also know
that there is gonna be something called the Technical Spectacle.
It will be on Collision this coming Saturday. Nigel McGinnis,
which okay, Nigel McGinnis coming, you know, coming out from

(40:36):
behind the announced desk. He's gonna get in the ring
Danie Garcia, Hechicero and Lee Moriarty. It will be a
four way Technical Spectacle. The winner of that match will
face Zach Saber Junior for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship
at Forbidden Door. That could be interesting. Lee Moriarty, I

(41:00):
think he's still the pure champion. Or no, that's no,
that's no, it's Lee Moriarty from Shane Taylor Promotions had
to say, of course, now with Don Kallis family and
then Nigel McGinnis and Daniel Garcia, so that could be
an interesting match, and I'll be interested to see how

(41:22):
how well Nigel can faire in that one. I don't
you know. On on the surface, I would say no,
they're not gonna have Nigel go over, but I guess
stranger things have happened, So we'll see Ian again. That's
gonna be this Saturday on Collision. The technical spectacle should

(41:45):
be fun. When I come back, I will let you
know what's happening independent wrestling around the state of Texas
plus TNA. They've got emergence coming up and I'll tell
you about it next on Sports Guys Talking Wrestling.

Speaker 1 (42:12):
Wow, this is the Worldwide Desperado, the Callahan death Machine himself,
Sammy Callahan. But you're listening to the Sports Guys Talking Wrestling.
Thumbs up, thumbs down. No, actually give them a thumbs
up because they're pretty good.

Speaker 2 (42:33):
Back here on Sports Guys Talking Wrestling, got a few
cards to tell you about this week in independent wrestling
in the State of Texas. I'm gonna start with Metroplex Wrestling.
They have Saved by the Bell This Saturday at the
NPX Arena in Bedford, Bell time, APM Central. Tommy Becker
will be there, Tata, Maddy Avadon, Ethan Hunter, and Moore.

(42:53):
That's Metroplex Wrestling this Saturday in Bedford. H ot Per
Wrestling presents a Master of Puppets at the WACOS Waco
lions Den in Waco, Bell time, seven pm Central. Brick Savage, King,
Carter by a World Sky, Della Cromosa and more of
that's Hot Pro Wrestling this Sunday in Waco. And Death
in the Family has Tate Party Tonight Sunday at the

(43:17):
Empire Controllerm Garage on East Seventh Street, ear in downtown Austin,
Bell time seven pm Central, Dmitri, Alexandrov, Gary Jay, Sue,
Young Jack Callaway and more. That's Death in the Family
this Sunday night, right here in the Beautiful a t X.
And that's a look at independent wrestling around the state
of Texas. Wherever you may be, go out and support

(43:41):
independent wrestling. One other car that's gonna happen this Sunday,
The Roads Wrestling Association presenting Hell or High Water Sunday
RWA Bullpen in Leander, just north of Austin, belltime six
pm Central. If you cannot be there live and there
are tickets of available, if for no other reason, like

(44:02):
I said, I think Dustin is going to be there.
Dustin Road will be there, so if nothing else, come
out to wish him well as he goes under the knife.
But if you can't be there, it will stream on Twitch.
Search Roads Wrestling Association on Twitch. You'll see it. I
think it's real Roads Wrestling. The card looks like this,
So Movie Mike, the brand new r W A champion,

(44:25):
cashed in his Roads Cup to obtain that title. He
will face t Y Shane in defense of that championship.
Vert Vixen, Now here's this one's interesting. Vert Vixen will
defend the r W Women's title against Hian and Jasmine Allure.

(44:46):
So triple threat now the interesting thing. And they've in
Vert and Jasmine have a very uh complicated pass, shall
we say so, Vert Vixen and Jasmin Ure trained together,
they've tagged together, they've faced each other, and it has

(45:07):
gone up and down so many times. So after Vert's
last title defense, hi On comes out attacks Urt Vixen,
and here comes Jasmine Allure and appears she was trying
to save Vert. So now it's going to be a

(45:27):
triple threat for the RWA Women's Championship Vert Vixen, hi
On and Jasmine Allure. So that should be fun. Chad Lennox,
who will have Tunda in tow as well as probably
Mama Lennox facing the living dead girl Abadon. Abadon made

(45:49):
their presence known last show as Chad Lennix saying there's
no one alive they can out wrestle me. When then
here comes Abdon. That's gonna be fun. That's good, and
they've met before in Ebadon you know, disposed of Chad
Lennox so to speak. So uh. In a tag team match,

(46:10):
the Rhodes brothers, Wayne and Wyre Rhoads, now Here's here's
an interesting one INVI you know I call you know,
think back to my dear friend Kenny Cross, who I
did inspire commentary with for so long. Wayne and White
Rhoads facing none other than the Eighth Day Father Oday
and team are the great. I believe they are former

(46:34):
New Texas per Wrestling Tag team champions. They are one
of the more more solid tag teams in Texas Wrestling.

Speaker 3 (46:43):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (46:43):
We've seen him in Inspire. Uh. And I mentioned Kenny
because Kenny would lose his ever love in mind every
time the Eighth Day would come out. Now they get
They get Wayne and Wyatt in a tag team match.
Misty Mark's facing off against Sophia Rose. Jimmy House will
take on Vin Parker. Cordell facing off against Jesse Funaki.

(47:06):
Yes as in the Son of Funaki, Shoe Funaki Smackdowns
Number one. Yeah, that guy. So Road Wrestling Association Hell
or High Water This Sunday our w a Bullpen in
Leander Bell Time six pm Central, Fine roadse Wrestling Association

(47:28):
on the Socials. You can get the tickets. I believe
their ticket's still available. You can get them through event Bright.
So if you want to just go to Event Bright
search Road Wrestling Association. If you can't be there, stream
at live on Twitch. So there you go. TNA their
next event emergence this Friday night, eight pm Eastern, seven

(47:50):
pm Central on TNA Plus. It will come to us
from the Chesapeake Employer's Insurance Arena m Baltimore. Among the
matches on the car allright trick Williams will defend the
TNA World Championship against former World Champions former X Division champion,
none other of the Big Man Moose. Leon Slater will

(48:11):
defend the X Division title against Cedric Alexander. That should
be a fun one. That's gonna be a lot of fun.
The Hardy's Matt and Jeff defending the TNA World Tag
Team titles against Zachary Wentz and Myron Reid filling in
now as part of the Brascals with tre Miguel out

(48:31):
with injury, so Myron Reid picking up the slack, so
he and Zachary Wentz will vie for those tag titles.
Mike Santana will face Sammy Callahan. Zammy Callahan has said
if he loses this match, he's retiring from pro wrestling,
which blows me away. I mean, I've been lucky enough.

(48:52):
I've gotten no Sammy over the years. He was one
of the bookers for Russell Serkis back in the day.
I've been to, you know, a couple of his Revolver
events when they would come to Texas and in the course,
you know, on the rest May weekend. So that's it's
crazy to think Sammy Callahan could be retiring from wrestling.
If he loses to Mike Santana in a no count out,

(49:15):
no DQ match, Steve Macklin will defend the International Championship
against Jake Something that should be a fight. That'll be
a big fight all in off, should be a great show.
TNA Emergence this Friday night, APM Eastern, seven pm Central
on TNA Plus, coming to us from Baltimore. Before I

(49:39):
let you go, before we before we wrap this up,

On top of that, my birthday is next week, So
happy birthday to me. I'll be fifty seven years old,
you know. Plus taken a week and I'm going to Aruba,

stuff happening in life, and so because of that and
some other things, I'm gonna take a break We're gonna
