Tonight was a very special episode of the Sports Honchos - the Honchos Halloween Spooktacular! We also marked the 44th episode of the Honchos with a tribute to another 44, Washington Redskins great John Riggins. After a discussion of their favorite horror/slasher films from the late 70s and early 80s, it was time for the Headlines: a Pop Tarts lawsuit, drunk Amish buggy drivers, and a list of favorite Halloween candy in each state.
The sports portion of the Honchos started with a recap of the college football from last weekend, the stupidity of a 9 OT game and the worst taunting call of all time, the best games of the upcoming weekend, and the always fabulous Blue Hose update.
In the NHL/NBA/MLB segment the Honchos examined the NBA's 75th anniversary team, the continuing saga of Ben Simmons, and the Braves-Astros World Series match-up. The segment ended with a look around the NHL and the sad tale of the Chicago Blackhawks scandal.
The showgram ended with a brief look at the MLS and then it was time for another high-spirited NFL whiparound review of the games from week 7 and the games of note upcoming in week 8. The showgram hit the witching hour as it always does with a special Halloween-themed Dope of the Week. This week's winner was Mike Leach, head coach of the Mississippi State football team.
