Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Star Wars Splash Page Comics in review.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
This is episode number four hundred and fifty one. Jeff,
they can fly and in space.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
Big a stage spin.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Us as park on. I don't want seats running the
gust scenes.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
They can fly.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
What I'm referring to is Star Wars the highest public
fear of the Jedi four or five, which we will
be discussing on this episode, in which the nameless are
apparently how space clus So it's pretty pretty intense.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
I ain't mad at it, but yeah, so hi, Jeff,
how are you? I'm good, Matt. How are you make
it back from your your excursion?

Speaker 2 (01:07):
I did? I did? Yeah, I finally finally got them,
finally got home on Saturday on my birthday. No less,
happy birthday, thank you. Yeah, double Nickel day. So but
not on the dime.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
You and Pam are the same age.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Now, Hey, there we go.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
I know Nigel gave you a very warm welcome when
you got home.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
He did.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
I have not been able to pry him off of me.
You know, when I got home from work today he was,
oh my god, you're back. You're back. He said, yes, yes,
I'm back.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Calmed down Archie does the same thing to me. Dogs
are the best. Dogs are the best? Well they are, folks.
We do have we have three books to discuss this week.
From dark Horse, we have The High Republic Adventures Phase three,
number eighteen, even though day he said seventeen.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
From Marley, it got extended to number twenty.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
So okay, good. We also have mar from Marvel, we
have Star Wars A High Republic, Fear of the Jedi
number four, and Legacy of Vader also number four.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Yeah, yeah, good, good week for comics.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
We'll talk about those in that order. But Matt, what
did we got for news so far this week?

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Well, it looks like Marvel's Star Wars Volume four aka
twenty twenty five proved to be somewhat popular because it
is getting a second printing.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
I'm shocked shocked.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
I'm not shocked, not shocked in the least. So however,
I don't think it look at it a third printing.
I hope to be proven wrong. Gosh knows, I do
hope to be proven wrong, but we will see. The
main cover is just like the first cover, except instead
of an orange background, it has a great background and
the one in twenty five variant second printing is Ken

(02:43):
Lashley's cover of Luke Skywalker wielding a lightsaber, and that
was for the first printing was actually the foil edition.
So and foil edition covers are kind of cool, give
me a little pricey, like seven ninety nine or so,
depending or you know, depending on your comic shop, but
you know they are nights, so I won't lie, so

(03:05):
we will see. We've also got some new covers for
June twenty fifth, Legacy of Eighter number five. It's the
Aka Virgin variant Snicker Snicker Snicker, and that features Kylo
Renn And of course there is that same cover. Well.
It will also be available with trade dress on it,
so you know, if that's your thing. If that's your thing. Hey,

(03:29):
are you a fan of Star Wars The High Republic
Phase one? Are you? Jeff? Huh? Are you? Are you
a little bit even? Oh? Good? Right now? You? Oh
my god? There are four copies of Star Wars the
High Republic Phase one omnibus on Amazon for twenty eight dollars.

(03:51):
Twenty eight dollars that this book lists for seventy two,
or excuse me, this book list for one hundred bucks.
So I want to check that out if you're interested.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
That is a bargain.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
That that is a bargain. That's a heck of a price.
Actually even for me, gosh, I might even order one.
I already have it, so.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
At those prices you can't afford not to.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Seriously, Oh my gosh, that's incredible. And that is pretty
much all the news, except you know, this is the
week for solicits, so we should get a gander at
Star Wars comics coming up, believe for August Memory Served.
I could be wrong, but it would be the first

(04:39):
time I'm wrong, so so look for those on Thursday.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
All right, excellent. We haven't done a movie talk in
a while because we've been doing the rec room and everything.
But I did just want to reiterate I saw Sinners
again over the weekend for the second time. And let
me just implore all of you that are listening, if
you have not seen this film, go see it in
a theater. Matt, I will go see it in the
theater before it leaves.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Were Actually we're max do so we're actually thinking of
going up to New York to watch it in imax.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
I think you should, you absolutely should. I want to
go see the seventy milimeters Imax printed is showing here,
cannot get a ticket? One forty in the morning is
the latest showing and they're all sold out.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Well you can stay up late.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
No, they're all sold out. There are no tickets available
unless I want to sit on the very front row
at an IMAX screening. So no, no, you don't.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
You don't ever want to do that. I've done that
once and I regret it.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
And I've also seen Thunderbolts.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Uh, regret that so much that I went to the
box office and demanded a refund.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Good as you should. I did see Thunderbolts last weekend
as well. You haven't seen thunderbolt Cheat either, have you met?

Speaker 2 (05:50):
I have not?

Speaker 3 (05:51):
No?

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Okay, because because I'm a horrible movie gar No that
it happens.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Life gets in the way. I will say that, as
far as I'm concerned, Marvel is back. Anybody who was worried,
it feels like the Marvel movie we've been waiting for
for the last couple of years. So I think you're
gonna enjoy it. You're gonna love it.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
And just again, well I'm glad to hear you say that,
because you know, I thought Marvel was back with Captain
America Brave New World.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Well, and I enjoyed Brave New World. But again, to me,
Brave New World felt more like an extended episode of
a TV series. It felt like an extended episode of
Falcon in the Winter Soldier, which again not a bad thing.
Thunderbolts felt like a movie. Okay, all right, I did,
but I did very much enjoy Brave New World.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
We should probably address the excuse me, we should probably
address the elephant in the room, which is what you
think that and Or season the season, and you know when.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
When Disney announced their release pattern for and Or, I
was really miffed because I thought, why do this? Why
not just give us an episode a week, stretch it
over twelve weeks, give us three months to discuss it,
but understand how the series was constructed, this season was constructed.
I think Disney made the made a wise choice. I
think they did did right by the fans by releasing
them the way that they did. And I love that

(07:12):
The last really the last episode had very little plot
and it was nothing. It was mostly character, character work,
and I loved it, and we watched it went straight
from that into Rogue One. We actually watched it yesterday,
watched the last episode yesterday, went straight into Rogue one,
and if you have the opportunity to do so, I

(07:33):
highly recommend it because it's all connected and it's great.
Yeah and I and I'm gonna say once and for all,
hot take, I detest Sagerera as a character. I think
he's boring. I don't even think he's interesting. I get
why people love him, and I get why people love
Forest Whitaker's performance of him, but he just bores me

(07:53):
and I find him just infuriating.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
I just love the fact that for all these years
I thought that, you know, his dedication was so intense
because of his love for the rebellion. I want to
find out it's just because he's been uffing rocket fuel.
Oh yeah, it's crazy. So well, I disagree. I love
Sagamera as a character because he does what needs to
be doing and he realizes, as I realized a long

(08:20):
time ago, that if you're going to be waging a revolution,
that you can't be delicate about it. Although having said that,
then you look at what Luther and Rail did and
you can be delicate about it. So with a heart,
you know, and hit hard with a hammer from the Shadows.
So but yeah, I was totally stoked by all twelve episodes.

(08:41):
I just that pervasive, underlying sense of dread. Yes, for
every single episode was just phenomenal. So I just you know,
I knew somebody on Facebook who had commented it it's
just so slow. It's like, man, you were just not
getting it right. This was not snow. And and I

(09:06):
gotta say, uh, the character of Claia.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
My favorite character in the series, became this season at
least became my favorite character in the in the series.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Yeah, there was just just something about just she was.
That's that slow burn writing and wow.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
Just and you've heard the story that that is that
actors This is that actors first acting job.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
Yeah, apparently she just she just graduated from acting school. Yep. Uh,
and that's impressive. So I've been on Elizabeth for forgetting
that gig. That's that's a wow thing.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Really doing everything that she could with it. It was amazing.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Oh, just phenomenal. And here's the things I would really
like to see and and and I think that the
medium of comics would lend itself very well to this
or even a novel. What becomes of her? Absolutely does
she end up becoming a spy master for the New
Republic or does she just simply fade into the background

(10:09):
to find and you know, to find a way to
find her her own inner piece. So uh, we'll see,
because clearly my, uh my, my, my, my, ship between
Dedra and Cyril is not going to happen. They are
not going to quietly leave Corussant and open up a
bed and breakfast somewhere that she runs with an iron fist.

(10:34):
So yeah, I you know, I'm still I still think
about that ending for Dedra, for Di Dedra, for Dedra,
just you know, the way that the way that Dedra
just ends up being consumed by the system she helped
prop up and just knowing, just knowing that she is

(10:57):
building components for the second Death Star. So so anyway,
neither here nor there. If you haven't seen it, go
see it. It's it's totally worth it, and I won't lie,
I will be I will be advanced ordering the second
season on AGD on UHD of hand, or oh yeah,

(11:18):
this gosh, it was so good, so so good. All right,
well what do you say we jump into the comic books?

Speaker 1 (11:28):
Okay, sure, why not? It is while we're here so
we let's start with the Dark Horse. We have a
High Republic Adventures issue eighteen. You said eighteen of twenty, yep.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
Eighteen of twenty. This was extended, so we will get
nineteen on June twenty fifth, and then I believe we
get the issue number twenty on July sixteenth.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
So maybe not the final showdown like it says on
the cover.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Well, I think it's kind of clear. So so. But
the Jedi and the Warden Part five. This is written
by Daniel jose Older, illustrated by Harvey Tolabaut, colored by
Michael Attia, lettered by Commoncrats, Tyler Smith and Jimmy Baitencourt.
The cover art for the main cover is by Elisa Romboli.

(12:13):
The variant cover is by French Carlo Magno. Dark Horses
publisher that's Mike Richardson. The book's editor is Spencer Cushing.
The assistant editor is Joe Kavanaugh, designer is Rebecca See.
Digital art technician is Anne Gray. The pre press technician
that's Jake Johnson, and from Lucas Moulm. We have creative
director Michael Sigline editor Grace Aris, Senior editor Robert Simpson,

(12:39):
Art director Troy Alders creative art manager Phil Shostack, and
from the story group, we've got Matt Martin, Papla Hidalgo
and Emily Shchukhani And we opened up Star Wars the
High Republic the Battle of Ariado. As we discovered last
issue that shadowy figure that had been haunting Farzala was
none other than his former master overtook Glee and after

(13:01):
consulting with his old friend and teacher, Farzala experienced a
personal revelation that drove him to change his approach to
the battle and altered the course of the war with
the Nile. Now mere moments after commanding resistance forces to retreat,
Farsala has ordered his allies to remain and fight for Ariadu.
And that is what they do and what I would
want to say before we dive into this issue. The

(13:25):
hyperkinetic activity that Harvey Tolabau and Michael Attia have drawn
and colored, and the words that Daniel jose Older has written,
and those words brought to life by Commoncrats Tyler Smith
and Timmy Baitencourt is nothing short of f word phenomenal.

(13:48):
Every page of this issue was just solidly packed with action,
vibrant color and just almost literally seat of your pants.
Oh my god, what's gonna happen next?

Speaker 1 (14:01):
So uh, it feels like it feels like the Dead
episode of and or the with the Uh, that one
episode that took place entirely on I'm Losing It the
Planet with that the Empire was invading Gorman Gorman, that
episode on Gorman with the with the the when the

(14:22):
revolution happened. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's that's what this book,
this comic reminded me of.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
That's a that's a really good analogy. Uh, and just
it's just nuts. I mean, you know, Farsala is got
control of basically an old abandoned battery uh that somehow
is still viable, and he sees that the warden is

(14:48):
bringing his ship to attack the lava reactor core that's
underneath the Arco Royale, and all it will take is
one solid shot from the nile to hit that reactor,
and it will it will immolate and destroy area out
of the city and briefron and along with everybody there. And

(15:11):
far as Allah knows that he's got to do this,
He's got to take that shot. But he also knows
that if he takes that shot, he says, a really
good chance of killing everybody he knows and loves, and
so he's having to wrestle with that, but he's also
having to realize, you know, I'm a field commander and
I've got to make these hard decisions. And you know,
once we get through that, he says, you know, all

(15:32):
fighters check in and we turn the page, it just,
oh my god, just this non stop, just panel inset,
panel inset of everybody going crazy. You know, this terrace snube,
there's Zine, there's Lula, you know, it just it's it's just,
you know, it's you know, it's it's a you know,

(15:53):
lava locks. Uh uh, you know, uh, Lady Tarkan. It's
just it's going crazy. And this, I mean, it is
just this panopoly of color and action and fighting and
you know, it's it brings to mind that opening scene
to Revenge of the scyth Over Corus with all the
fightings going on. Uh. And then you know we see

(16:14):
Sage with Yaddle, who's down by the lava core and
you know, say not Sage five A excuse me five
A discovers our resident weasel, Jacoby Snell, who's hiding, who's
having A you know, better late than never, crisis of
conscience going uh five A have you ever done something

(16:38):
so truly horrible and unforgivable that it changes the very
fabric of our reality. I've been busy recently with the
war and all, but I try to make it a
regular practice. The truth covered scales of the void do
demand their own chaotic balance, though, so I tend to
offset those acts by doing something truly rungeous as well.
It feels a bit nickny, but we must all make sacrifices.
Why do you ask Jacoba Jacoby's gone? And of course No.

(17:02):
Five does not know that Jacoby was in the process
of selling out the Jedi, and and uh and aria
I do. And we cut to the warden ship. And
just the way Daniel has written the Warden, I mean,
this guy is just so full of himself, and he
is just so into the moment. You know, he is
feeding off the chaotic energy enveloping everybody. It just because

(17:24):
you know, he knows that he's about to finally get
that kill shot and make a name for himself. And
you know, to rival, perhaps even Marchion Roe, keep us low.
So any straight shots they fired us, we'll hit the
arcole Raal. Stay focused to clear my nile. Don't get
distracted by those republic fighters. And of course Grandma Snell.
You know Granny Snell is still being held hostage on
the bridge, you said, pathetic little clown. All we have

(17:47):
to do is hit one darken against us, but Warden
can it?

Speaker 3 (17:52):
This is war?

Speaker 2 (17:53):
We went it all out or we've lost well setting
off the lava reactor corps wipe out our ground forces, sure,
but it will be ours. And then of course one
of this toady says, Wurden, our shields are taking a
beating that one dual pilot fighter won't let up on us.
Then Granny Snells just shriveled, abomination, discarded a waste of
your gene pool. Then divert some fighters from the Arcarry

(18:14):
Allen had them take it out and so much shook
that old fossil up. You mean, like, no, you fool,
We still need her alive. In case of pathetic, brand
Son decides to try anything cute, just cover her mouth
or something, and it turns out an annoying two seater
fighter pilot fighter ship is Zeene and Lula so and

(18:35):
uh they along with lady Tarkan are telling Farzala, we know,
we know that you're we know what that cannon can do.
Lula don't, and Lady Tarkin says she's right, Farzala, we
all knew what we were getting into. That blast will
wipe us all out. But if it'll save Arey, I
do and you know. Then then Lula says, you have

(18:57):
to take Lula end Zin and say it together. You
have to take the shot. And this panel showing them
is awesome because it's an external shot of the two
of them viewing into the cockpit where they're looking down
around me. You know, they're looking at Farzala, and farz
Alla says, I know. And then we cut to the
Jacobi who's wandering through the complex. I didn't turn out

(19:22):
to be the man you hoped I would, Grandma Snell.
But five days right the Galaxy de Maan's balance, my
usefulness to the Nile hinged on my inside knowledge of
this place. Now I'll use that very inside knowledge to
stop them in their tracks. And when all of a sudden,
a shield goes up around the Arka Ryal, much to

(19:42):
the Nile's surprise.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
And the surprise of every everybody.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
Yeah, including the Jedi, and we see the warden a
shield system. What and Granny snell a man, even if
you BOLLI chops win, it will have all been worth
it to have seen your face right now who and
of course her guards we're still getting hammered by that
fighter and Lula and see like are you all seeing

(20:08):
this reading? Someone activated the shield generate around the Arco
and far As All I was like, wait what the
Arco has a shield generator? And Lady targers, I've never
been so happy not to know a crucial piece of
information about my city. And then Tarasson, who says we
can do this protect the Arco Royale, and then you know,
then we see Jack. Then we see Jacoby who has

(20:33):
climbed into a speeder, and it is you know now,
all that's left for me to do is make you
proud Grandmas now by becoming a Krispy chart carcass and
five A has a Stowa board the landplea speeder. G fine, ay,
how did you what are you doing here? I know
the look of someone who's about to do something incredibly
reckless and unhelpful, so I followed you to make sure

(20:54):
you do something incredibly reckless and helpful instead, but how
well for starters. I made some adjustments on those things.
That's the last time we wrote it in the battle,
and yeah, it is laden with firepower and guns, and
it's got a juice engine and boom. And you know,
back on the Warden ship, the guy gardening Granny ricking

(21:16):
the old maintenance when he just entered the battle and
took out three of our fighters ward what.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
Is going on? Destroy them dirt?

Speaker 2 (21:23):
And then you know Granny's had enough. She starts pummeling
her guard. Pull up jack ofby Stell in the hollow
and bring me the grandma. And all of a sudden,
why do I feel? When that grandma has cracked open
a door to the bridge, at Mo is getting through
and she falls out with the nile guard and starts plumbing. Aha.

(21:48):
And it's a great full page spread here, And then
of course we cut back to our our our protagonists
and there's far solid say sharp everyone, this ain't over yet.
The work won't stop it. He's destroyed everything inside. That's
why we've got to stop him, says Zeene. And Luis
has too many fighters on me. Far as you know,
then far As All is just like come on back up,

(22:10):
Master Snuba, and clear a path for Lula and zine
on it, Master Farzla. We'll have to trust those Arco
shields for now, although I don't know how long they'll hold,
and Lady Targets is not long. If I had to guess,
they're probably older than the Lady Krivlin So. And then
of course, fate being fate, and a good turn of
a good turn of a plot twist courtesy of Daniel.

(22:31):
Here Jacoby's telling five A five A, I literally owe
you my life. I don't know what I was thinking.
I'm sure you'll find a way to make it. Oh
my hang on?

Speaker 1 (22:40):
What off?

Speaker 2 (22:41):
Funk? And grandma'snell falls on the speeder not the landing
I was planning. But I guess I'll have a few
more years, said me, thanks to that now breaking my fall,
Granny Jacoby, you did this. I knew you had it in,
had it in you, my boy. And then of course
we're back to the Warden and he's getting the bad news. Warden,
our shields are given out. We have to It doesn't matter.

(23:03):
We're still going to wipe them off the map, sir,
because in this life you're either everything, oh you're nothing
at all. Now, climb what I said. Climb, climb, I said,
And then there's only one way to build up enough
power to do what needs to be to be done.

(23:24):
And this bottom panel shows the ship and Harvey Tolabaut
is just on fire with his artwork, and the colors
again by Michael Attia, are just mind blowing. So we
see the Warden ship start to pull up, and I
swear to god, Jeff, it looks like something you would
have seen in a prequel trilogy movie, you know, whether

(23:46):
it's one of the you know, the troop ships from
the Republic on Geonosis or you know, or just you know,
the fighting over Correspond again and the Revenge of the Sith.
It's just incredible the way it's rising up. It's almost
like about the fly off the page. And of course,
you know, so Terras and who says, the star Hopper
is accelerating skyward and Lady carka, stay on it, We'll

(24:08):
keep on the fighters down here. Who knows what he's
planning and Lula and Zeene and you know, are flying
and Luna says he's planning to build up enough speed
to break through the Arco shield to take everyone out
but with him, but if he keeps going Farzala because
they realize that they are ready to go. So and
we turn the page and we cut in on Farzala

(24:31):
and it's a two page spread and it's gorgeous, I know, breathe.
And then dominating this page are the ghosts, if you will,
of the Jedi that have fallen. You know, we see
Stellan geos, we see loading great storm and so many more.

(24:54):
We see Obra took and Farsla is like the force
flows through me. One shot and we get another double
page spread. Then the gun powers up and fires and
just again, this two double page spreads in a row.

(25:19):
It is incredible, and the colors are out of sight
and these letters by Comograft really hammer home the intensity
of this one shot. And then you turn the page
and the star Hopper just.

Speaker 4 (25:35):
Disintegrates with a big cocka woo, and we get an
inset panel that's broken up and split, which is very
nicely done of the warden who's clearly catching fire.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
We get a to be continued, so just absolutely bonkers.
So we'll see the remnants, I hope in issue nineteen,
which is dueout June twenty fifth.

Speaker 1 (26:08):
All right, yeah, really really good book. I enjoyed it.
I kind of let you take the reins on that
one because there's so much going on. I figured one
voice was probably good.

Speaker 2 (26:19):
Love this book, Love this book. I'm gonna miss it
when it's gone.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
I agree. I agree one hundred percent. So we're gonna
take a short break and then we'll move back to
discuss the two offerings from Marvel. Yay, all right, welcome back.
Let's talk Fear of the Jedi number four and this

(26:42):
remind me is four of five five. I was assuming
was there a time when story arcs typically lasted six
issues or do I have that wrong?

Speaker 2 (26:56):
Well, you know, speaking of mini series, back in the eighties,
when they first first started, like Marble had the supposedly
the first ever mini series, it was Contest of the
Contest of Champions, I want to say, it was two
or three issues, and then the industry standards sort of
became four issue mini series, and then there were the
occasional six issue mini series. There was some eight issue

(27:19):
mini series like Fallen Angels for example, right, and then
then we had a lot of twelve issue maxi series
like the second Vision in Scarlet Witch and Vision Secret
Wars issue yeah, and Secret Wars yeah, Secret Wars and
Crisis on Infinite Earth was twelve issues, so you're right.

Speaker 1 (27:34):
There used to be four issues, and then for some reason,
I was thinking at one point they switched to six
to you know, half a year, but now it's sort
of settled at five because you can get a good
twenty five dollars trade paperback out of that.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Yeah. Yeah, so that's why, you know, you know, and
it does vary, I mean because you know, like the
the legacy of Vader the first artist six issues, so
that you know that that that science first trade will
be six issues, but most most of them have been
five issues, you know, as we have discovered.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
So okay, makes sense. So this is this is four
of five and this is Nightmare over Aria do really
really striking cover with a nameless as you said, the
nameless Catululu with Keief Trenis in its in its clutches.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
Oh yeah, oh yeah so and that's of course. The
main cover is by Philonoto. This is the High Republic,
like you said, Fear of the Jedi Chapter four, The
Nightmare Fleet written by Cavin Scott. Art is by Marika Cresta.
The colors or by Jim Campbell. Letters are by Virtual
Calligraphies AREAA mayor. Carlos Lao is handling our book design.

(28:38):
There are variants, including one by Ben Harvey, Chris Sprouse,
Carl Story and neiradj Minon have a Force Awakened tenth
Anniversary variant. The book's editors are Danny Chasm and Drew Baumgartner.
Mark Pnizzia is our senior editor. Cebe Sebolski is our
editor in chief, and we get a special thanks to
Mikey J. Basso and then the same crew from Lucasfilmbert Simpson,

(29:00):
Grace Aris, Michael Siglane, Phil Shostack, Matt Martin, Papolohidalgo and
Emily Shikokani. And again, you know, this has been a
fairly fast paced mini series. And this is happening at
the same time as the events of The High Republic

(29:22):
Adventures Battle of Aria Dow. So the book we just
discussed happening on Area I Do and in the skies
over Area I Do. The events of this issue are
happening over the planet of Aria.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
I Do, above the sky exactly.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
So Jedi Marshall kief Trenis and the Republic Stormwall Defense
Fleet are trying to hold back Nile reinforcements from joining
the battle, but weird things are going on all The
Tempest Breaker lorda d ship tay Sirik has been attacked
by the ghost of his long dead love of his life.
Build our uh and it's not the Nile armada that

(30:03):
has shown up, but it's you know, I mean they
they're there, but they're joined by giant winged nameless alongside
the storm ships. So we just got every it just
got yeah, everything, which just has everybody freaked out. We
open up and you know, there's there's Keev you know,
and yeah, yeah, Marshall keep we need to do something, please, Geo,

(30:30):
So are you seeing this? Are you kidding? It's hard
to ignore Lurida, good glad, it's not just me. So
next question, well, what are we gonna do? It says Skier.
You read my mind, Sker. What can we do after
everything we've endured since the Great Disaster, everything the galaxy
has suffered? And we turned to a two page spread

(30:51):
maybe this is how it is, and it is literally
a giant, enormous winged nameless attacking the vector you know,
the vectorship geos.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
You know, it looks kind of cute. It almost looks
like it's just trying to cuddle with the ship.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
Is this just me friends?

Speaker 1 (31:07):
Yeah, and they call.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
Him George, but it's Grcantuan and you know, and just
and it starts tearing the thing apart, and it actually,
you know, like a talon cracks the viewport. Uh, it's
just you know, and real the journalist is like the
viewport and every you know, everybody down and just you know,
and Sbab is like, danger of rapid decompression imminent, you know,
and and you know, and the skipper is just like

(31:31):
one way to die horribly at times. Sababa forces with us,
the forces with us, the forces, and all of a
sudden everything stops and okay, so not as dead as
I thought. And Sibaba says a danger of decompression halted.
Something must have plugged the breach, you don't say. And
Rhea's the reo was like, but what how And the

(31:52):
captain looks over, how do you think real Keev trindas
and there's Kiev and Keev has force and she's struggled
for yeah, yeah, and you know, and you know, and
Velko is Vlko is amazed, and and Kiev it was
just like Falco raise a containment field to seal the whole,
I won't be able to hold it for long and

(32:12):
Reel It's just like, but how can she hold it
at all? I thought that nameless blocked attempts to manipulate
the force, and Velcas is always asking questions even now.

Speaker 1 (32:21):
There's a but there's a hint right there, because when
I saw that, I thought, I wonder, what, what what
what that's about? Because again they're supposed to not be
able to use the force.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
Very good, very good point of observation here by real uh,
you know, proper journalists always observing. Uh. And Velka says well,
and keeps a Jedi one of the best I've ever known.
We have to believe they can save us, real, because
if we don't, we've already lost. And then we cut
to the fighters and there's a Jedi e Luke, who

(32:52):
is watching from afar this enormous nameless space, nameless just
trying to tear tear the geos apart by the light
Master Skier. How are we supposed to fight a nameless
that big master skier, Master Sker, can you hear me?
I hear you, Jedi e Lock Sabers Grace, He's gone,
They're all gone. We're right here, I Dan, You're not alone.

(33:14):
It is the nameless, clouding your perception, playing with your mind,
all with all our minds. And then we see Orbilin, Orbilin, Orbilins.
Do any of you have eyes on Jedi e Lock
and one of the Orbilan's because remember Orblon, has he
split himself?

Speaker 1 (33:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (33:30):
Multiple times.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
You may have spurred himself too thin.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
Yeah, but I'm afraid I am struggling to focus, Master Skier,
whether it is the nameless or the effect of separating
myself so many times. Maybe Kiev was correct, Perhaps this
wasn't the right time for it. Oh no, oh please
stars no Orbelin. One of them has me Scire, that
has my vector. I creep crunch and Orbilin is ejected

(33:59):
into the back of force. Save me, save me, and
he starts to crystallize in the vacuum. Say orbile ns
is Scire. Archivists respond, and then the other orbits. It
appears I have lost another part of myself scar, finding
it harder to pull myself together. Splunch, great, He's.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
Starting to remind me of Odo from deep space nine.

Speaker 2 (34:27):
Yeah, yeah, exactly, and so Orbilon has collapsed into a
puddle of goop. Gra Jedda. You look, Master Orblon has
been incapacitated. I am engaged with the nile on the
far side of the metal. I need you to recover
and return the archimists vector to the geos. Yeah, yes,
of course I see a master scare as vectors drifting.

(34:48):
But how should I get him back to the long beam?
Focus on the force I did, The force will provide, Yes,
should be simple enough. Guide is Victor to the hangar bay?
Only how can night with that creature there? It's impossible creature.

Speaker 1 (35:05):
And then of course, and we're seeing, we're seeing, we're
seeing different perspectives.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
Yeah, because now we're at the tempest Breaker piloted by.

Speaker 1 (35:13):
And she says, what what in hittannguash hits an AGA's
name is that pup talking about? And uh her joy there,
says mister Slowna. We're taking a pounding. You think I
don't know that Q four because how repair is going?
We need that thrust. And so Quinn is down there
doing his best. He is b a that easier scoot
and tape. We're here. She's just wait, you need they're
not said, sih, this is the person who's going to

(35:36):
tear you apart with her bare teeth speaking. You need
to get your beardy butt to the circuity base now.
And meanwhile, tay siriic Is is the whites of his
eyes is all he has. He has no pupils. Now
he's getting force force blocked by He thinks the ghost
of darmackisis yea, his husband, and he's remembering that he

(35:59):
you know, how he stole the hand of Siberius from
the archives after Biltarmak died. And uh, he says, I
didn't stop there, and he lashes out at him, and
he says, you don't know, don't you know, dear husband.
Shouldn't a Jedi recognize their own saber Laura, if you
can hear this, tell me, is anything strange going on
up there? She says. Strange like what he says the

(36:20):
gays electric appearing out of nowhere to ram head first
into the geos. It's not just strained, it's impossible. Marchian
Row never leads the attack, not when there are others
willing and able to die in his name. And uh,
and on the other ship. Keeth Treninga says, way does
she say the Gays electric, because they're not all seeing
the same thing as what they're what they're saying. So
the captain says, one minute, Kiev, We've almost got that

(36:42):
energy field. And he says, and uh, the gess is
the fear. You can feel the fear, can't you, commander?
All consuming absolute? And uh, they finally get the h
the power rerouted to the field generator generators and I
like that they tell this this journalists, just making yourself
part of the story. Rail says, I've been part of

(37:04):
this story since Valo. I can't see that changing anytime soon.
So they activate the energy field so Keev can relax
or sort of relax for a second, and she says, Laura,
tell me again what you're seeing, And Laurna says the Gays,
why what are you seeing? Says what I fear the most,
And that's the strangest thing of all. She says, Yes,
I'm scared more than I've ever been, but I can

(37:24):
still use a force I shouldn't be able to, not
with the nameless the size of a pergol on the hall,
that's truly what's out there says, you're seeing nameless, your deepest,
darkest fear me too, which is hardly surprising. The reports
are coming in from every ship in the fleet, reports
of every horror, imaginable colossus, wasps Exo, Gortz, Suma, Vermanov,

(37:47):
long Dead Lovers. This is Tas saying. He's saying, Keev,
none of this is real. And Lorna figures out shes tays, right,
this is exactly like Neboo. We're all seeing what we
fear the most. Although for the record, I do not
fear marchionl bood he wrote. And so Keith says, could
it be the child of the storm, and and thesays, well,

(38:08):
she was locked into device on Naboo, a machine that
boosted her force given abilities, trapping us all in fear scapes.
If they found a way to broaden the range, and
uh keeps says Sababah, you were a child of the storm.
If Fatara is hiding somewhere in the Nile fleet, and
Sababa says, then then I will know we're forever length
thanks to Baron Boolin's experiments, one big unhappy. And then

(38:32):
we see the eye what looks like the eye of
sourron in this this bottom panel.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
Yeah, but it's just's eyes, it is.

Speaker 1 (38:38):
He says, I see her kiss where says there's no
way to be sure, but she's shackled in an engine
of her own design. The pain is intolerable. We see this,
it's a it's a it's a splash page of her
and it just looks terrifying.

Speaker 2 (38:49):
Yeah, I feel so bad for Hatar here.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
Tearing her apart. She will not survive. And the says
I should be glad. I should dance on her grave
for putting me through this, from making me him And
I said, who are you seeing? He says, someone I
let down a long time ago, someone who tried to
teach me the truth about the hand about me. I
kidded myself, I could control the wretched thing. I could
help those who couldn't help themselves, when all I was
doing was filling the gaping void within my heart where

(39:14):
he used to be. And finally, the spirit says, hey.
He says, I'm sorry, my love, and I hope you
forgive me wherever you are, because you're not here, not now,
and not ever. Any slashes through him.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
Yeah, he confronts his fear. He confronts his fear, and.

Speaker 1 (39:29):
They say, Siric, are you good? He says, no, I
don't think I am lora, but one day I will be.
And he's see he's holding this. Uh, I guess this
is the uh the orb that was that's I think
that's scoop projection. Okay, okay, gotcha, gotcha? And uh, he says,
tell Quinn, I'm on my way. So he's gonna go
back finally go back up and help and so uh

(39:53):
he you know, tells Skeer says, did you hear that
the nameless aren't real? They're an illusion generated by hitar
and so he says, which does raises a question? If
the nameless aren't real, what is destroying our ships? And
he says, all Jedi must look beyond our fear, focus
on the force and the force alone. And uh uh,
I keep want to call it Kooley because his name

(40:14):
is Kooley backwards lee leuk. Yeah you look, he says, Yes,
trust the force because the Force will show us the truth.
He says, I see it masters, or rather them not
nameless at all, but scave droids, hundreds of scab droids.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
Yeah, that explains that. That's why the ships are being
torred apart, he says.

Speaker 1 (40:33):
But it can't be. Whatever is attacking the geos is huge,
he says, yes, Ryle, Yes, it is, and it's a
huge scave droid.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
Bring bring brings to mind those giant probe droids from
the what was it Dark Empire? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
I remember the first time I saw was like, wow,
that's a arcantoid probe droid. I mean it would make
sense it would be that big, right.

Speaker 1 (40:59):
Yeah, No, those are cool. Yeah, it's very very, very
very similar.

Speaker 2 (41:03):
So so yeah, this sets us up for a heck
of a conclusion, I think, you know, especially dovetailing with
the High Republic adventures. I'm looking for me.

Speaker 1 (41:11):
I'm looking forward to see how they how they counteract this.

Speaker 2 (41:14):
It's gonna be interesting.

Speaker 1 (41:16):
Yeah yeah, absolutely. All right, Well that leaves us with
one more book to discuss. We're going to take a
short break and we'll be back to discuss Legacy of
Vader issue number four. Heck yeah, all right, finally from
Marble Legacy of Vader number four? Is this four or five? Also?
I think right there's at six?

Speaker 2 (41:35):
No, this is this is a monthly ongoing Oh.

Speaker 1 (41:37):
This is a monthly ongoing. I don't know why I
was thinking this was a It feels like a miniseries,
that's why.

Speaker 2 (41:42):
Well, it's got a nice, tight compact arc, that's for sure.

Speaker 1 (41:45):
Exactly so. And if you've forgotten, this book is taking
place between the Last Jedi and the Rise of Skywalker.

Speaker 2 (41:53):
That's true. It is.

Speaker 1 (41:57):
So ut see what do we got? What's our? What's our?
Create a team on this one, Matt.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
All right, So we have an art first off, it's right,
written by Charles Soul. We have a new artist for
I believe this issue at number five, and then Luke
Rosswell return with issue number six. So Stefano Raphael is
handling the art. Nolan Woodard is our color artist. Virtual
Calligraphy's Joe Karamania is handling letters. The main cover is

(42:23):
by Derek Chu. There is of course a The Force
Awakens tenth Anniversary variant by Chris Sprouse, Carl's Story and Neirajmnon.
There is a variant by David Marquez and Jesus Evertov,
and then Mark Aspinall has a variant as well. All
quite good. Book designer is carlos Law. The assistant editors

(42:44):
on this book that's Mikey J. Basso and Drew Baumgartner.
Mark Ponitzia is the editor. CB Sebalski is our editor
in chief, and of course, for Lucasville, we have Grace Arris,
Robert Simpson, Michael Sigline, Troy Alder's Phil Showstack and from
the story group, Paplo Hidalgo, Matt Martin and Emily Shkokkhani.
This is the Reign of Kilo Ren Part four. Kilo

(43:07):
has left Tatouine and is now headed to Naboo to
further explore his family's history, and we open on board
the finalizer. Great exterior shot by the way Ah and
Kylo is talking to Hawks. Both star Killer based on
the Supremacy have been lost. With that mind, General Hawks,

(43:30):
I have a question, could we still destroy a planet?
It depends on the overall objective Supreme Lida. Pulverizing an
entire planetary body down to its atoms could pose a challenge,
but there is more than one way to destroy a world.
We retain our siege of dreadnoughts and the star destroy us.
With us potent orbital to ground assault capabilities, we could,

(43:53):
given time, scour an inhabited planet clear of all structures
and life. Very good general, I'm glad to hear it.
And then we cut two days before on Netboo, a
very broken Netbooh, and Vannye is there with Kylo walking

(44:15):
through what clearly is the royal pal not the royal palace,
but the ancestral home of Padmeyamidala first tied away. Now
it does deserted, ruined home. If you're trying to show
me the galaxies infested with rotten vanini, I already know this.

Speaker 4 (44:35):
Well.

Speaker 2 (44:36):
There is much to be learned here, my prince. This
place was not always this way. Once it was glorious.
And what happens here is because this whole page is
sort of like it's almost like a pastel wash, you know,
to show it's how drab everything is. And then you
turn the page. And then for centuries that Boo was

(44:56):
the center of culture and power for this part of
the galaxy it operated. It's a democratic monarchy, if you
can imagine such a thing. Powerful people built lakeside retreats here.
That one was home to Marlowe and Vellis Santeca, made
wealthy from their family's exploration of hyperspace routes. So right
then and there we get a you know, a high
republic reference and then of course there were you know

(45:18):
for reference. Yeah, yeah, but yeah to lor Santeka, do
you do you know that clan and Kylo says, I do.
They saw a steep decline. I might have heard something
about that, but that family was only one of many
to reside here. In fact, one of the most powerful
people in recent memory claimed Nepo was his home emperor,

(45:39):
Chief Palpatine.

Speaker 1 (45:40):
And the way that they've drawn Vanni in this in
this issue of such to this episode is maybe the
creepiest art I've ever seen in a Star Wars comic.

Speaker 2 (45:48):
Yeah, yeah, it's very it's uh. He kind of reminds
me of Max Shrek from the original Nosferato very much so,
so just you know, over it's and then we get this,
you know, this.

Speaker 1 (46:02):
This next part I love. I don't know about you.

Speaker 2 (46:04):
Oh, it's great because it's a lot brighter, it's still
got that sort of almost U you know, washed to it.

Speaker 1 (46:10):
And we and what I love is what we learned here,
because we learned that after Palpatine took over his emperor,
he basically still took care of Naboo. He wanted. He
the empires of the planet Neboo's monarchy. The world was
still wealthy, still safe. Citizens here knew that the Emperor's
benevolets came at the cost of their freedom. While other
world suffered, Naboo did not, and many knew it here

(46:32):
and elsewhere. So basically Naboo was became the favorite son
of the emperor, and everybody else in the galaxy got
jealous of them. Once the empire fell, some felt that
certain citizens of Nebo had profited from their association with Palpatine.
It should be punished. Factions arose, distrust mounted it was
never the same again, sounds awfully familiar to societies that

(46:53):
we see today.

Speaker 2 (46:54):
Uh huh.

Speaker 1 (46:57):
And this next part I'm not I'm not a huge
fan of what does here? He because I suppose this
was Palpatine's mansion and goes on destroyed after riot by rioters,
all this stuff and all making all these assumptions. And
Vonnie says, actually, my princess home belonged to She's I
don't care. I Palpatine is irrelevant to me. He's dead.
I'm interested in the one who killed him, Darth Vader.
He says, well, he says, you told me this place
was important to my grandfather's rise to power. I don't

(47:19):
see it. He wasted my time. I have not, my prince.
Naboo was tangential to the empress path, but for Vader
it was central.

Speaker 2 (47:27):
That's an impetuous little prick.

Speaker 1 (47:29):
I know as you saw his pain on Tatooine, you
felt it with the pain and power that came from
this place was so much greater. You see, Naboo is
where Vader fell in love don Dom and we get
this whole thing about how podme Amidala. You know it
was a powerful, brilliant woman, a worthy match for your
grandfather from a young age. He says he did not

(47:50):
rest until they were joined for forever, wetted on this
very world. Basically ninety nine no's in a yes is
still yes, basically is what Vane is saying. Once he
had Padme, he never let her go, and we see
him force choking her and and Kyloes, what is this
pablem you're suggesting to understand Darth Vader's power, I need
to fall in love. Ludicrous like you could give him

(48:14):
the point and he would still miss it. You could
hand him the point in the palm of his hand,
and he would still miss it.

Speaker 2 (48:20):
Yeah, he missed it, or he would just outright drop
it or just ignore.

Speaker 1 (48:23):
It because you overstepped by Ana. I am displeased. No,
my prints, nothing like that. And I love this next
part because we see he says it was not he
was not afraid to grow attached, to allow one thing
to become the center of his universe. There is strength
in that focus. Vader's fear of losing Padme made it
possible for him to do anything, anything to keep her safe.

(48:44):
When we see this image of Vader standing literally on
top of a mountain of skeletons, mountain.

Speaker 2 (48:49):
Of bones, that's creepy, though I know, he.

Speaker 1 (48:52):
Says, do you not see how powerful it is? It was?
It meant he did not limit himself as other Jedi did.
There were no rules for Darth Vader. If you find
something similar around which to center yourself, then you too
would know no limits. And Kylo says, I have no limits.
Now in John, he's sort of needling him. He says,
is that true? You have everything you need, everything you desire.

(49:12):
If that were so, I suspect you might not have
come to me. But if I'm wrong. Take your sabers,
strike me down, and our travels together will cease, he knows.
And so Kylo's are remembering, you know, we said, it's
great image of him back to back with Ray in
the and Snoke's throne room in the Last Jedi. And
he says, and they get interrupted by a couple of

(49:33):
people telling him, you don't want to be mucking around
up here. It's not safe. Worse than that, it's cursed,
says A beautiful queen used to live in this house
fifty years ago. I think she lived here, and then
she left and she came back dead. That a big
funeral for her in theed. No one knows how she died,
but we know what happened next, don't we, Shanga, Oh, yes,
we certainly do. And this is the part that I love.
This is my favorite part of this book. A spirit

(49:54):
of death came here and we basically get what would
be like the Tall Tale version of Vader. It's it's
this very abstract looking I don't know what what art
style would you call this, Matt. It just it's not
really hieroglyphics.

Speaker 2 (50:10):
Not hieroglyphics, it's this more. It's just.

Speaker 1 (50:14):
It's just more suggested.

Speaker 2 (50:17):
Yeah, yeah, it's just sort of like a blend of
whimsy and fantasy but also malevolence. Yes, so, and it
brings to mind, uh, at least concept wise, that backup
story that Jason Aaron wrote, I think for his last
issue of Star Wars Volume two. You know where the
Tuscan's built a wicker you know, a wicked worship, so uh,

(50:41):
you know, and and and the question here being is
it just did Vader come and do this? Uh you know, Yeah,
but you know, it's just like wow.

Speaker 1 (50:54):
So yeah, they're saying that it did. Yeah, that he
basically came wrecked the place, brought the water and flooded
the whole building. The spirit, the spirit haunted, and it
would have become clear that to speak of the queen,
to acknowledge that she ever lived at all, would mean death.

Speaker 2 (51:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (51:11):
Of course Kylo said, I'm gonna go ahead.

Speaker 2 (51:13):
That's just brutal. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (51:16):
And of course Kylo is just like, this is nonsense, superstition.
So maybe so. But folks believed that most of the
fancy people left this part of the world and then
the bad people moved in. We're not saying it's unsafe
here because of some curse. Not really, it's because of
And then they get interrupted, Well, look at this four
fools walking around my property like it's nothing at all.
You're trespassing. And some guy, some older guy with a beard,

(51:38):
surrounded by a bunch of people in masks like you do.
Kylo says, oh do you think so? I disagree and
just knocks the guy out and take makes quick work
of all of his all of his underlings and everything,
both with their blasters and with his fists, and Kylo says,
this place is cursed, but not for me. And the

(52:00):
two kids are going by all the by, all the hells,
you've you've killed us. This was store Varuna. He's nobody really,
just to grunt. The boss has sent out to collect
their protection payments. But the Varunas won't tolerate this level
of disrespect. They'll kill us once they hear what you did. Yeah,
this is who the Varunas. Why did he say this
place was his as well? They used to be one
of the ruling families of Naboo. They made a lot

(52:20):
of money during the Imperial occupation. When the empire fell
they needed a new source of income. They decided to
make up the difference by annexing properties all over the planet.
They claim ownership, charge ran and kill anyone who disagrees. Again,
sounds familiar.

Speaker 2 (52:33):
Which is interesting because, uh, you know the Varuna family.
Uh yeah, they were rulers, you know, particularly ours Varuna.
He was the king of Naboo prior to the reign
of Amadala, and he was apparently assassinated. He was also

(52:58):
responsible for hiring CEO. So there's always that, right.

Speaker 1 (53:06):
And so so Kyler just says, well, why don't you
just kill him? He says, well, they have a valley claim.
You don't know how things work around here, He says,
all the ruling families are interrelated. You go back far enough,
it's just one family. The Varunas have connections in Aaboo.
For better or worse, lineage matters. So they said, well,
one of the Varunas got away, which means more will come.
We need to hide. So they they take off in
their boat and uh, as they're leaving, Kyala goes, you

(53:31):
were wrong. You're wrong about Vader and podme Vane. The
story those insects just told us made it clear. Darth
Vader realized that his past was not a strength. It
was a weakness. I'm worthy of the legacy he was
trying to build. So he returned here and destroyed any
memory of it. He understood what the people of this
world do not. These fools are obsessed with their past,
maintaining it, letting it control them. Lineage matters, pathetic, and

(53:52):
he forced chokes these two kids out from a distance.
They're in the middle of the lake.

Speaker 2 (53:56):
Yeah, they're all they're they're already bulging eyes bulge out
even further.

Speaker 1 (54:01):
Yeah, but I can help them. And so from there
we cut back to the bridge of the ship and.

Speaker 2 (54:06):
Hut back to where we opened the book.

Speaker 1 (54:09):
Yeah, and Hucks are saying, you know, I ask why
you're asking these questions? Uh, if I may, why are
you asking these questions? You have a target for us,
a plant you wish to destroy, And he says, possibly,
so if you completed my throne yet, General, he goes,
it remains in progress, Supreme Leader. The design incorporates rare materials,
which takes some time to obtain. But and as he's
walking away, huxas saying, I can sure you will be
finished before you realize. And he's got his head in

(54:32):
his hands, and and uh, Kyla goes back and and
I guess he's he's broadcasting. He says people in Aboo,
this is a supreme leader of the First Order. I've
commandeered your communications network. I'm unimpressed with you. And he
goes talking about their you know, their obsession with lineage
and superstision of causer society to fester because you can
like not let go, you hold yourself back. Now that

(54:55):
will change. All that was will be swept away, and
Naboo will embrace the few.

Speaker 2 (55:01):
You've been ruled by.

Speaker 1 (55:01):
Queens, You've been ruled by an an emperor. Now I
am your king. And he does not look sane or
healthy in this last shot either, does.

Speaker 2 (55:12):
He No, he does not. He's he clearly needs some sleep.

Speaker 1 (55:18):
Yes he will, Yes, yes he does, Yes he does.
So uh yeah, so so this is an ongoing series.
So uh yeah, I really really enjoyed this book. Any
of the thoughts on this one, Matt, uh.

Speaker 2 (55:36):
You know, Charles solely promised us that this is going
to be a deep dive into you know, what made
Kylo Ren become an actual leader of the First Order.
And it's clear, Kylo it's still you know from what
we saw, you know, you know, let's go of the past.
It's dead kill it. You know, he's this is you know,
this is we're seeing him really, you know, sort of

(55:58):
take that to heart now. I mean, you know, I
gotta admit I was kind of shocked that the boos
is still it was still around by the end of
this book, because I figured, you know, just he was
just gonna be the first few pages that he was
just gonna just yeah, he was just going to destroy it.
So I'm impressed that the Boo was still there, and

(56:18):
I'll be curious to see what's going to happen because
the next issue sees the launch a ground attack on Naboo.
So maybe this is going to be sort of the
spark that reunites the surface in the in the the
aquatic world together again. So we'll say, could be, could be?

Speaker 1 (56:34):
Yeah, all right, well we will take a short break
and moving back with the solicits for next week. Heck, yeah, okay, Matt,
let us know what we have to look forward to
next week.

Speaker 2 (56:49):
Well, it's a holiday week, so uh, because the Memorial Day.
But we only have one book and it's May twenty eighth,
and it's The Rise of Skywalker Adaptation number four. Or five.

Speaker 1 (57:01):
All right, So we'll be back next week to discuss
that and anything else that happens between now and then,
and hopefully we'll have another recordom for you. So until then.
For Star Wars splash Page, I'm Jeff, I'm Matt made

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
