Speaker 1 (00:03):
You're listening to Star Wars Splash Page Comics in Review.
This is episode four hundred and sixty one, and Matt
and I are together apart this week, So I'm gonna
throw it to Matt now for the news and for
his review of the Marvel Comics offering for the weekend,
that I will be back to discuss the dark Horse
(00:23):
Comics offering and solicits for next week.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Big on the stays spin made, I'm husting gonna big.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
As before park On, and I don't want Sis running
the gas scenes. Absolutely. Here we go with the news
last week, and it seemed to party for dark Horse Comics.
(01:00):
The big news out of the public panel was the
fact that the Bad Batch are going to be returning.
It looks like that's going to be in December with
another five issue hyper Space Stories mini series, same creative team,
which is very, very exciting, and this is going to
be called the Bad Batch Rogue Agents. Now, if you
(01:21):
were at the publishing panel, you were treated to a
lot of really great reveals, some of which we have
on the Facebook page and on the Blue Sky feed,
including gosh, several pages from you know the upcoming Star
Wars tales from the night Lands, which looks really good,
including issues two and three. There was a peak at
(01:45):
December Nights Star Wars Young Jedi Adventures hardcover from dark
Horse Comics that of course collects the two free Comic
Book Day issues as well as a brand news story
and just super cute. Then we all have so also
had a look at some of the upcoming covers for
a Legacy of Vader and Jedi Knights, as well as
Doctor Afri Chaos Agent, although that was number five, which
(02:07):
we already got from solicits which were released last week.
The big reveal was goodness gracious, it looked like almost
almost ten pages from January thirteenth Star Wars Hyperspace Stories
Grievous trade paperback and it looks just super incredibly cool.
I gotta admit I can't lie about that. And of course,
(02:29):
like I said, we had solicits for October from Marvel
dropped last week, and then solicits from dark Horse for
November also dropped last week, details of which you can
find on the Facebook page, including all the comic book
covers that we have for now for all those titles,
(02:50):
so definitely do check those out, all right, This is it.
This is the end Star Wars the High Republic Phase three,
the finale The Beacon from Marvel Comics. A lot of
build up to this one pretty intense story, but it's
(03:11):
a nice way to wrap things up, so to speak.
This being Star Wars, of course, there's always a not
a backdoor, if you will, but a stepping off point
for potentially new stories and perhaps the High Republic phase
more said, they're calling it. So this is the High
Republic of Beacon. Written by Cavin Scott. Art is by
(03:32):
Marika Cresta, colors or by Jim Campbell. Letters are by
Virtual Calligraphies Ariaa Mayor Phil Noto has the main cover.
Carlos Lao has got the book design. There are variants,
including one by Ario and Adito. Always good to see
Ario back, you know, for a High Republic project, even
if it's just a cover. There's also one by Joseffic,
Kevin Coley and Federico Blee, and then Chris Browse Carl's
(03:54):
Story and Nei Aje Menon have a Revenge of the
Sith twentieth Anniversary variant as well. Drew Gartner is the
editor on this book. Smart Ponzia is the senior editor.
Cebe Sebalski is the editor in chief. There is a
special thanks and a shout out to Mikey J. Basso,
because there should always be. And from Lucasfilm, we've got
Robert Simpson, Senior editor, Grace Harris, Associate editor, Creative director
(04:17):
Michael Sigline, Art director is Troy Alders, Creative art manager
is Phil Shostack, and from the story group, we've got
Matt Martin, Paplo Hidalgo, and Emily Shrew Connie. So, yeah,
Ariado has been saved, the Nile have been beaten. Marcia
Enroe has been confronted in the Trials of the Jedi,
the last novel by Charles Soul And yeah, you're gonna
(04:39):
have to have read that novel to sort of really
glean the full effect of this book. You know you're
not gonna be lost, but you know it certainly does help.
And we open up and we're on Corussan, and this
is Kiev's narration. My name is Keith Trince. I'm a Jedi,
a Master no Less Marshall for the Stormwall Defense Fleet.
(05:00):
And recently I've been keeping my thoughts to myself that
Keev has largely because I don't want to hear them.
Command to Jay and this is port Control. Welcome home,
Thank you Control, requesting permission to doc Permission granted, Geos
proceed on a signed route. I hope that goes for
us too, Geos. I'm sure they'll have a place for you.
Timpess breaker, Jared says, still Lorna d as long as
it's not the brig, Hey, Lorna. It depends if we're
(05:23):
finally off the Marshall's criplis Quinn, what's it to bey
is a noble leader, conquering heroes or clapped in irons?
Loren up, this is an open channel. Keeve says, you're
right and we should be celebrating. You won the Battle
of Verryadho won the war against the Nile, and for
some reason we're treating it like a funeral. As for me,
I took a shot Keiv, bloodied my nose and got
the job done, the job you signed me up for.
(05:45):
And keeb Is reflected, I suppose that's true. I was
the one who urged Lorna to be better than she was,
to be more. I led her into battle. I told
her that she was fighting for light and life, and
then what I punish her when she did what she
thought was right, what was needed, taking the winning show
against the enemy who was using our fears against us,
an enemy at any other time we might have saved,
should have saved. Chios comes back to reality. The geos
(06:10):
is yours, Bellco. Please complete docuing procedures going somewhere, Ski
says Skier. I've been summoned to the temple. Do you
mind if I accompany you? It's been a while, of course,
the more the barrier. And then we you know, we
see the two of them at the Jedi Temple, and
it's wonderful to see the temple in all its glory
and grandeur, in its busyness. You know, it's pedestrian this
almost in a way. The twins are there, Terrek and Sarah. Oh,
(06:34):
it's so good to see you. Your mission was it?
It was a success, Yes, a success. The nameless are
no longer a threat and peace. Peace has been restored.
The cost was worth it, the twins say, But they
are decidedly still shell shocked the cost. But you two
are still together. Yes, my twin and I will always
have each other no matter what the future holds. And
(06:54):
speaking in the singular Here, Sarah has agreed that we
try to find a way to forward that allows us
to be more independent, even though Sarah still insists on
competing each other's sentences. Some things will never change. Well,
I certainly know a certain Crinian who will be leaves
to see you. Chit, chit. I'm sorry I didn't bring him.
(07:15):
I should have thought, but I'll have Sababa get him
to you after I caught up with Avart L's are
they here, Trek Sarah, are they here? Maybe that's something
you should discuss with Master Yoda. Why Sarah, what's happened?
What was the cost? Master Yoda will explain Keev. He's
waiting for you in the council chamber, and Yoda has
(07:36):
delivered the news. I don't believe it, says Keev. And
there's no way to go back. Sacrifice much they have
for the sake of us. All gave everything for light
and life, and keep tears up and clinches our fisted.
So many have no of course, there's not a kiev Skier, don't.
(07:57):
I'm sorry, Grandmaster. It's a shock, that's all. I will
meditate on what you said. On the example, Avar and
Lsar have given, and not only them. Much success have
you had in commanding the fleet, Marshall Treni, says Yoda.
I'm not sure much you have learned at uncertain times.
Much you have grown. Many we have lost since this began,
much wisdom and experience. That it is the way of things.
(08:17):
The order indoors comoiney new patawans, new masters, the new
members of the Council. Yoda has invited Keeb to join
the Council, and keep is shocked. Skiers been settled, were settled,
I should say, and key, says Master Yoda. I am
not ready. No, but you will follow. But you will
(08:38):
be if you follow the path. The force is prepared
like those who have gone before you. Stellin Loden, Avar,
Chris and Lsar man your path, Keeve trainish your destiny,
my destiny. How about that? The mass and we cut
the Dalma four months later? Why is nothing ready? You know?
Lord is very upset. There's much activity going on. Laura,
(09:02):
Please you need to call me down. No, no, I
don't This is important. Quinn. Don't you get that? Don't you?
I get it? But nothing. It wasn't this difficult when
I was a ruthless pirate pillaging every planet that looked
at you the wrong way, or maybe an infamous murderer
wanted for the ravaging of planets across the galaxy, specifically
this planet, says toy Seric, thanks to not helping. Yeah,
he's right, but you're right, it's just just feels like
(09:25):
a lot is going on. And of course this is
where the journalist pounces, where the decorated war hero Pounce
is still not helping today, and you're still not getting
another interview. Officially, I'm not here, even though you are.
None of this has anything to do with me, even
though you're paying for it, says quin Quinn, says Lorna. Lorna,
it's fine, I'm not here to interview you. Your funding
of Donald's reclamation is still off the record, although I
(09:47):
wish you'd allow T nine to record at least some
imagery of brother Lycos and his daughter at work there. Frankly,
extraordinary efforts were reviving a planet the Nile Decimator would
go a long way to reassure the public. With the
blateness over and whether Lecos and the daughters are doing
an amazing work, that's where Tay steps up, and that's
where I really do have stepped out. The children of
(10:09):
the Storm's rehabilitation. It's going to be a long and
drawn out process. They were badly abused by Baron Bold,
forced to perform terrible acts against their will, acts that
still haunt them night and day. Coming to terms of
what they've done will be a darn sight. Easier without
a cam droid in their faces. There you go. I
knew you'd get there in the end, but if I
(10:30):
can't interview anyone, I'm not really sure why I'm here.
Well you can get a shot of that, Quinn says.
Then we see a Jedi transport landing, and Lauren is like, great,
they're already here. No sign of earners, speaker, if you
want something done done right the noble friends and colleagues,
welcome to Donna and outstep Terrek and Sarah kal Knaka,
(10:50):
you know, Skier, Yoda, so many more, And Lauren is
doing herbilovel best and scar of steps up Noble and
Laura's just don't make me repeat it, Scale, it's already
sticking to my craw But I can't wait to see
how you handle what's coming next next. Oh and Lord
and turns up and looks and Chancellor, Lina So, Chancellor So,
I didn't see you there or your pets. It's gratifying
(11:13):
to see you again, mister, a testament to how far
the galaxy has come and Dona with it. This is
quite incredible. So many people are working in Unison, rebuilding
up for such hardship. You are to be congratulated. Uh
oh no, not me. I'm just I'm just the money
if I'm paying off numerous debts. The people, they're the
ones putting in the work and scars talking to the Chancellor,
(11:36):
a community of survivors, Chancellor coming together to create a refuge,
a sanctuary for anyone displaced during the recent troubles, anyone
still hurting. One might almost call it a work, a
great work, the greatest, And he says, and a name
this great work as master, scare inded it does, Grandmaster.
It is called the Beacon. And Lina So tears up.
(11:58):
Perfect skier, that is absolutely perfect. And Trek and Sarah
Bry they're one. Thing is puzzling me, I thought, Keith
trendis to meet us. She was supposed to. She's been
here for months, helping establish a community while she considers
her future that's why she came here. She told you
that specifically, and Lorn is just like and yet now
she's nowhere to be seen. Where's the Jedi when you
(12:19):
need them? And then we see Orbelin. Well, I don't
know about anyone else, but I've been in the galley
making one of Master Yoda's favorite recipes. But a celebratory feast.
That is why we're here, isn't it? And Taya's like,
you bet your slimy little suit of pods its orbel
and old Chump the mother of all knee up celebrating
a light life and everything in between with everyone. And
that's what we get, is that we get this wonderful
two page spread of just, you know, everyone finally in
(12:43):
a moment of peace, you know, everyone just being themselves
and being with each other and exulting in being with
one another. And that's where Keith's dialogue and narration comes back.
The feast was everything Tay said it would be more.
There was singing, laughter is so much fun. There's nubs, Yes,
Nubs isn't here? Has are the other young Jedi. That's
(13:04):
pretty cool. That's going to drive some people crazy. Someone
told me that they even saw council members dancing a drag,
but I think that was just the Mapa talking. Yes,
there were people absent, faces we would miss for the
rest of our lives. But beyond our grief, the feast
was an opportunity to look forward again. And here we
have Jedi from some of the other High Republic Adventures
(13:24):
comics as well, to remind each other why we'd fought
for so long and so long and so hard, for friends, family,
and those we'd never even met. For everyone that mattered,
we knew, and before we knew it. The night was over,
the tables cleared, Farewell said, now the real work would
be get a fresh start for everyone, some more than others.
(13:47):
Yoda looks to scare. The shuttle is ready, Master Scare
leave me most of course, Master Yoda. I just Lorna.
I still haven't seen Kiev. Oh, yes, I wanted. I
know she wanted to see you before you left, But
you know, Trendi's better than most. What do you mean
before we leave? She is coming with us? No skier,
I don't think I am. And there's Keev haircut short,
(14:12):
Jedi robe's gone. Lorna says, I'll leave you guys to it.
We have a lot to talk about. But what does
that mean? Keith? What is this? Where are your robes?
Your saber? Ah? Yes, my saber that she pulls into
her jacket and pulls it out. I'd hope you return
it to the temple for me. If you are the
grand Master, and Skeeve is shocked, and Skier is shocked,
and Keith starts to cry, and Yoda shows up, a
(14:35):
decision you have made, Master Trenni's a difficult one. At
least I thought it would be. All my life. I've
been afraid I wouldn't make the grade, that I didn't
even deserve to call myself a Jedi. And I know
you've all told me differently that this was my path,
that everything that's happened is the will of the force.
Of these last few months, I found myself more afraid
(14:55):
of what the Jedi are or who will become Keev No,
let me se be scared. If there's one thing we've
learned over the last few years, it's that bad things
happen when we don't talk to each other. There. If
there's a threat out there that's worse than more genre
or the Nile or dangerous, what will happen. Then the
(15:16):
Guardian protocols initiated by the reinitiated by the Council in perpetuity,
this time Jedi leading armies into battle. Lightsabers swung in anger.
You already made me a marshal when all I wanted
to do was help those who were hurting. When all
I wanted to do was serve help people, you did
keep Treadi's great service your game? Did I really you
o to listen to what I had to say in silence,
(15:37):
how the path ahead was one I couldn't tread because
it scared me, scared me more than I thought possible.
He accepted my saber, told me that I always had
a place at the temple. But I think he knew
as I did that those days were gone, and Scared
didn't say a word. He just turned and walked toward
the ship. I think that's when my heart finally broke,
(15:58):
And just like that, they were going and I was alone,
wondering what I'd done whenever this was all a terrible mistake.
Fortunately I didn't have to wait long for an answer.
So when do we started? Shouldn't you be haway to
coorse the By now I have been appointed as the
Jedi Liais on to the Beacon. Oh, Liaison, that's interesting.
I didn't realize we were getting one. You worked until
(16:20):
ten minutes ago. You know they've asked me to be speaker.
I had my suspicions, which means you'll have to do
what I say. What else is new? Oh the shut
the criff up, Dad. We got work to do, the
end and the beginning. So yeah, hits all the right beats,
(16:45):
pulls on all the right heartstrings, all the right remembrances,
all the right ways to look forward, and thus concludes
the High Republic Phase three.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
All right, Matt, thank you for that review. And I
am going to discuss from dark Horse Star Wars Hyperspace
Stories Tides of Terror number one, and this is number
one of four titled Something in the Water. And we've
got a great, great cover of Mace Windo and Kit
Fisto fighting this giant like see serpent looking guy. I
(17:40):
say serpent, but he's got claws and arms. So this
was written by George Mann. That cover a art that
I liked is by Edward Omello with Valentina Todeo. Cover
b artist by Pius Bach. And if I'm mispronouncing those names.
I apologize. Pencils for this issue by Luis Morocho was
inked by LeBeau under would We also have a cover
(18:02):
art c by Edwin Galman. Don't want to leave that out.
There is also a Nowhere Games and Comics retailer variant
by Tony Fleeks. This was colored by Michael Attier and
lettered by Comic Crafts Tyler Smith and Jimmy Baitencourt. As
usual for dark Horse Publishers, Mike Richardson, editor Spencer Cushing,
Assistant editor Joe Cavanaugh, designer Rebecca Gee, digital art technician
(18:26):
is aj Newle, and pre press is by Jake Johnson.
And for luke'sfilm, we have our creative director Michael Siglane,
editor Grace are A, senior editor Robert Simpson, art director
Troy Alders, creative art manager Phil Showstack, and from the
Lucaswilms story group Matt Martin, Pablo Hidalgo and Amlish Kukhani
did that all one breath, and we open with ondaalgas
(18:46):
with a screw and a huge green most just looks
like it is similar to the one from the cover,
but different. This is colored green with a heart shaped mouth,
and we have Kit, Fistu, Fisto and Mace Windu workoking
at it, and and Fisto is saying it's working, and
Window is saying, keep pushing it back into the cave.
And so they're trying to force push this this monster,
(19:08):
I call it a monster, this creature back into a
cave so that they can get away or they at
least subdue it. And we hear from from off off
screen quote unquote we have a master window. And then
Kit looks up and we see a silhouette of someone
and he says he said. Fisto says, no Padawan. He says, okay, Master,
I got this, and Mace Window gets almost sliced to
(19:29):
bits by a toenail as this uh, this padawan which
is uh, which is a Mancala mon kalamari h Jedi
padawan leaps off of this cliff and his name is
Nadar and he slices this this creature and kills him.
(19:50):
And he says, see, Master, I told you I could
do it to Fisto, and Kit says, well, we're not.
We're trying not to kill it.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Not.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
Our destruction is always the easy option, which is something
we hear from the Jedi a lot. They like to
do it without loss of life. And not Our, you know, rightfully,
says it was trying to kill Master Window and it
had already eaten people from the village, and May says, well,
it was scared and hungry. While we cannot, for a
moment condone what the creature did. As Jedi, we must
always strive to find a peaceful way forward, which again
(20:19):
is the way the Jedi works. And I bet that's
going to come back into play later on in this
in this series. And so now Our says, I thought
I was doing the right thing, and Kit says, I know, Patawan,
that's all we can ever do. And I like that,
he says, He says, perhaps meditated on this. As Jedi,
we must always look for a more diplomatic solution, and
(20:40):
not Our says even when dealing with monsters, and Kit
Fisto says, especially than my young friend. And it was
an impressive move. Obviously, as your teacher, I take all
the credit. So it's it's fun. Kid's having a good time.
He's trying not to be too hard in the kid
and I and I get it, you know, he messed up.
But he's young. And they get back to the ship
and there's aemester from Coruscant. They have a new mission
to go to the planet Tortoise, and t U r
(21:02):
d Us. As I'm saying out loud, I realize it
sounds like Tortoise like turtle, and Yoda is telling the
tensions are running high aboard a new underwater research station
built to explore the ruins of an ancient civilization, and
it's sponsored by the Republic, but some of the locals
(21:22):
fear that the station is harmful to aquatic wildlife and
dangerous beast dwell among the ruins. So the Jedi Council
has agreed to send a delegation to kind of smooth
things over. Are there to meet Master shot t there,
who's already aboard the station, So they think, thank you,
and says, sounds like we're in for some fun, Padawan
(21:42):
Kit says to his padawan, and he says, on a
diplomatic mission, isn't that just the Jedi Council's code for boring, says,
don't worry about are I'm sure there'll be plenty of
diplomacy to keep you occupied. In them reminded of was
it a aggressive diplomacy or aggressive negotiations. With the negotiations
lightsabers from attack at the clones. So they get to
(22:03):
the Axle Research Station on Tortoise. Everything is underwater when
they get here. I love the way this looks. The water.
It's all blue and everything. They get blue hues and everything.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
And they're in a huge, little like shuttle looking thing,
and they meet shot Tea and this outpost that they
built under the water looks like a big doughnut with
a spire coming up out of the middle of it.
And they've got these it's got four four legs to
stabilize it. We learned that those are to stabilize as
well as I keep everyone safe. And so they meet
(22:35):
shot Tea and they say you look like you're settled in,
and she says, well not the Grandmaister Sam written all
over there. He's from the Tordusian government to oversee the
excavation of the ruins. He wants the station to continue
its work, while Lady Helen Valks leading the protesters. They
want the accivation if excavations sorry halted to protect the
creatures that live in the ruins. She says those two
groups are constantly at each other at this throat, and
(22:57):
then she introduces in a qualish, no squid heead what
a squidhead, whatever squidhead is, Matt would know. This is
Potterina scoof the station chief and our host. And he says,
we appreciate your kind invitation. And this says that kind invitation. Indeed,
(23:21):
you're doing me an enormous favor. Someone needs to knock
the heads of these two squabbling of these squabbling fools together,
and so he gives them a tour and we learned
everything through. And I love the way they've done this.
They've got the host, you know, in an inset panel
which with this nice orange background and the orange against
the blue, I just like it looks very aquatic, very
marine like. It says. It's supported above by the seabed
(23:42):
by four large stilts which stabilize the structure and protect
the precious axe lot ruins below. So's while the integrity
of the station is absolute. There are twelve large escape
pods mounted on the undercarriage, and the unlikely event that
they're needed, which means are going to be needed. And
for those who expressed concerns over the Zorf and that
inhabit these depths. They are dangerous and aggressive if approached,
(24:02):
but our station and vessels are well equipped to repel
any such attack, and the creatures are showing little interest
in our scientific endeavors. So then when it get he says,
we'll gather in the four year and I'll give you
a tour of the inside. And inside it's all purples
and pinks and oranges. Again, I love the colors in
this book. They go to the laboratory, where the RKO
team is hard at work assessing, recording, decoding several key
(24:24):
artifacts already recovered, and the communication center they makan station
wide relay as well as open lines to all the
surrounding vessels and the surface, and an engineering the team
insure as we're running a stage ship, maintaining the air
and water filtration systems, and monitoring the overall integrity of
the station. So they got it pretty well into control.
We get to the sleeping quarters and they look like
a little pods or cells that they all would sleep
(24:46):
in a lot of bunks, but again looks handa comfy.
And then they go to the viewing gallery where there's
it's basically like a glass floor, where they can see out,
and he says, what we believe this was once a
central district of ancient Axelot city over five thousand years ago.
And the padd one is creepy, like peering into a grave.
(25:09):
And Uh kit Fisto says, perhaps, but it's important that
people acknowledge and understand where they came from. History can
often teach us a lot about the present, which is true.
And we get to the recreation area and they say,
please take a moment and enjoy the surroundings. Will be
convening the conference in just a few minutes. And the
(25:31):
padawan is standing at it at a very large window
looking out on let's say it's four panels here, and
he looks and something comes towards him and he says, master,
do you see that? He says, I sense and this
this this creature, this is the one from looks like
the one from the cover. We get a clang and
actually says the word clang into the into the into
the glass and uh they said, why did you attack
(25:53):
like that? And uh kit Fisto says, well, you did
say you wanted excitement. Padawan, are you okay? Says yes,
Master on fine and she came out of nowhere and
mace Wind who says, I sense it's ill intent. The
creature meant to scare you. The Pedalan says, it meant
to eat me, and of course their host saysm sorry
for the disturbance. As I mentioned earlier, the zorphan can
be quite ferocious, but we're very well protected here in
the station. And shocked, he says, and what about the
(26:17):
scientists taking part in the archaeological studies of the ruins,
And they say, well, there have been no incidents and
during which any people or creatures were hurt. Now, everyone,
if you'd like to show it, come this way. I'll
show you to the conference suite. So they get inside
and there's the Lady Vaux's assembly there and they're protesting,
you know, put a stop to it now before it's
too late, save the zorphans nesting ground, no more digging,
(26:39):
you know, standard protest. And the Pedalan says, seeing that
creature just now makes me think they have perhaps they
have a point, and kip Phosis says, perhaps they do
have a point. As Jedi, we must be open to
all possibilities and listen to all points of view. Our
place here is not to judge. We must help the
Tordusion people come to a peaceful solution. Oh, and try
(26:59):
not to get eat by the Zorphan while you're at it. Ay. Yeah,
And so we cut to later on and they're, you know,
they're arguing all this activity is starting up the spawning
ground of the entire shoal of Zorphan, and the pro
exploration site says the creatures can be relocated if necessary.
They've moved before, after all, they clearly weren't present when
(27:20):
the city was in use, and said, well, we don't
know that. We barely knew anything about the axel Off
people and how they lived. And it says precisely my point,
lady Walk, which is why you should step aside and
allow my team to do its work. And she says,
you're willfully twisting my words of Grandmaster, which he is.
He says, progress always comes at a cost, Lady Walk,
I'd say, disturbing the comfort of a few fish, it's
barely worth getting wound up about. And of course she
(27:41):
responds with a few fish and shocked, he says, well,
please remain calm. We're here to find a position of compromise,
and then kit Fisto and Mason window at the same time.
Since something, we eat this great panel of them turning
around with an explosion behind him. I gotta say, I'm
not a huge fan of the way Mace is drawn
on this panel. I don't know, it just looks looks
a little unfinished. But the rest of the art art
(28:03):
is great otherwise. But this is the one kind of
the one misstep I found on this in this book.
But then there's an explosion outside and one of the
legs that snaps in two, and we get a great
it's rumble on this this whole page, and it says
rumble down the page and in red letters, and we
see each each of our main characters reacting to it
(28:27):
in different ways, and oddly enough, the only one who
doesn't seem alarmed or surprised is the the the maister
who's who's like so you would think he's not the
one who's who's done it. But that's it. And then
the last panel is a click and everything just goes dark.
I see everyone's stay calm, the Jedi are here to help,
(28:49):
and we're hearing what's that here? Woo, The station's alarmed,
something's happened. Trying not to worry. The emergency protocols will
kick in at any blink moment. Let's come on, And
who says, you're all quite if I'm trying to raise
my engineering team for a report, and please rest assured
the station is unsinkable. And of course the Master says,
you better sort this out right now, because that you
know you can do that. And you hear grown and
(29:14):
Kit says, he says, Padawan, protect the civilians, and me says,
Chief scooth, what are your people reporting? And the Chief
says reports of an explosion submerci book collide with one
of the station's supports. Station integrity is holding, but the
chief supporting leg is gone. Chief supporting leg. You think
they would all share the load, he says, Please try
to stay calm. My people out of the station under controls
(29:36):
just a few minutes. This is what we were trained for.
And we see scuba divers outside. He says, force be
with us. There are people in the water, and Kit says,
in those shapes out there in the gloom, it's the
orphan and they start just eating everybody, and Patawan says Master,
we have to do something. That's where we got our
to be continued. So something has happened here. There's been
(29:56):
an explosion and now there are people out, divers out
and they're getting eaten. So I've really really liked this one.
You've spent a while since we've gotten to spend time
with kit Fisto. We spend plenty of time with Mace Windu,
but not enough with kit Fisto in my opinion, and
I like the two of them together. So I'm really
looking forward to the rest of this I really really
really enjoyed this one, so I think that you will too.
(30:24):
All Right, for next week, we only have one book
that we'll be discussing on this show On Tuesday, however,
the Star Wars Vision's Treasury Edition is due out, so
if you've been looking forward to that, you can pick
that up on Tuesday. On Wednesday, we have from Marvel,
we have Legacy of Vader issue number seven, and that
will be the only book we have next week. Ideally,
Matt and I will be able to record together and
you'll be able to hear our interplay, which I know
(30:45):
you love so much. But until then, for Star Wars
splash page, I'm Jeff. That was Matt, and may of
course be with you.
