So I am gonna fly solo today. We do just
have one book to discuss. It's Star Wars issue number
four of the new twenty twenty five series. I will

share with you a little bit of news. The only
really villain news we have is that the Grievous book
got delayed two weeks to January twenty seventh, and Marvel's
November Sliths Solicits should be out this week along with
Dark Horses December solicit So I just watched the Facebook
page for that. Matt is really good about getting that
updated and he'll have everything you could want to know

about what's going on there. So with that being said,
let's go ahead and dive in to this issue. We
got a really really cool cover with Leah and Luke
and really some really cool Stormtroopers and Alisha on the cover.
That cover is Phil Noto. This issue was written by

Alex Sigura. The interior art is also by Phil Noto.
Letters are by Virtual Calligraphies. Clayton Coles film Noto also
did the inks art all the inside art. We do
have some variant covers. There is a Revenge of the

number four Shock and Aw. And if you recall, at
the end of the last issue, we had some folks
that had landed on a planet and were getting beset

descended upon by some battle droids, and actually I marveled
at the fact that they actually made battle droids scary.
They sort of baited and switched to this month, folks,
that part of the story comes in at the very end.
We do not get that story, so we have to
wait until next month for that. So let's talk about
what we're gonna is happening in this book. I'll just

(03:19):
read the crawl to make things easier. After investigating a
raid on New Republic supplies, Luke, Skywalker, Rinzanot and their
squadron tracked down the pirates responsible to the Edges of
the Funeral Sector, only to be ambushed wah wah. Luke
then learned that the Nagai are being exploited by a
group of Trees and as Pirates colluding with the villainous
Xantark gang that Balance and Han Solo have been tracking. Meanwhile,

(03:41):
Princess Leh and Man Mathma are still contending with the
complications of a tents meeting with the Perosi delegation who
refused to join the New Republic. Elsewhere, a crew of
New Republic trading the crew of a New Republic trading
vessel has gone missing, and that's the crew we talked
about at the end of the last issue. So we
open up this book in Caltrace in the Fineral sector,
we get a really cool ship that's landing and we

(04:03):
have a group here and they're saying, it appears the
ship was able to retrieve our agent from Bestbin. And
if you were calling the last issue, Han and Valance
were headed to Bestbin because there was a friend of
theirs that needed their help and they got there too late.
This is the agent that they were able to retrieve. Says,

(04:23):
we are truly lucky with the New Republic reading our
efforts to solidify the Funeral Consortium can take root. We
will not be cowed by the Republic's efforts too, and
I think gets interrupted. It's Prime Minister, we have much
work to do in advance of be patient. Prefect Walls
or the Prime Minister says, we are in a very
precarious moment and for our planet and our goals. What
happens next hinges on what we learn in this moment,

(04:43):
and the agent that arrived is actually Arena Oscure. Garlev, though,
is the character that the person that Han and Balance
were after. So she arrives. She says Garlett is dead.
The curse guy Rebellion will now die along with him.
I have alerted our partners as well. Prime Minister says,

this is truly good news. Orena Oscure, and the Prefect says,
or do you mean pray to r Coyon, and Randa says,
the time for ob obfuscation is over, Prefect, call me
whatever suits you and someone else's speak your mind, Prefect.
I think it's The Prime Minister says, well, was this necessary,

(05:25):
Amovar to act in such haste? This is am I
the only one who finds this entire enterprise disrespectful. I'm
used to my battles being fought in the light of
the sun, not in the shadow. So this is somebody
who deals a great bid and honor. Apparently says are
we a government or are we a mob? And she
has a point there. I do like that point. Says

we tarnished the Perosi reputation by associating with this this
criminal an Zati sorceress what glory is are and wallowing
in the dirt my leader, And we get a close
up on Randa's face and her eyes are just just
steely blue and uh she knocks something out of the
prefix's hands or yeah, and says, uh, She's tell me,

prefect wallser, how can one who failed, who's failed so
magnificently still criticize those who clean up their messes And
gets her in a in a like a like a
half Nelson or something and says, you had your chance
to destroy the Jedi Skywalker and you failed. But now
Garlav is dead, the one guy who stood against our plan.
So I must ask, is there anyone else you'd like
to question my methods? So again, just like the Empire,

she's gonna rule with an iron fist. From then we
go to Chandrilla, which, if you recall, we spend a
lot of time on during and or season two. It
was a gorgeous city where man Mathma lives. And here
we have Luke in what looks to be for a second,
I thought it was horrible names stealing scars Guard's characters shop,

(06:54):
And then may be so Luke is Is is explaining
to Ren what the Crown verity. He says, it's one
of the most sought after Jedi artifacts. They're so little
to the Order, and even it's still one of a kind.
And she says, what is it doing? He says, it
allows a person wearing it to tell truth from lies,
but it also forces the wearer to speak the truth.

The Jed already Order used to mean something ran They
weren't about wielding power, it was about being part of
a greater movement. And he gets interrupted in says Elesia,
what is it? Says the need to help Luke, it's
Leah and we cut there and man is as asking Ilia,
do you think this might be a little rash? So
what's happened is lea is is convinced that they have

to act. She says that Caltrace was a valued part
of the Old Republic. We agreed they'd be one of
the first planets to approach about the New Republic. This
is a planet, says the Parosi and their allies in
the Funeral sector have made it clear they want to
disrupt our plans on every front. And I refuse to
sit back and let that happen, and Mon says, you
know is trying to be strategic about it, and Leah says,
something is wrong. I know it. I spoke to President

(07:55):
Schwarin an old friend. He sounded off different. He asked
for a meeting in person, even after officially declining our
offer on behalf of Caltras, and Mon of course wants
to take a minute to think about it. Luke shows
up and he says, we just want you to reconsider
what you're doing. She says, my mind is made up.
Leah says, my mind is made up. Caltrn is in trouble.
I know that much. If we're to invite system to

join Systems to join the New Republic, we also have
to show them why it benefits them. A government that
does nothing is nothing. And she's absolutely right, and Luke
offers to go with her. She says, I can take
care of myself. We didn't get this farbaplan say, if
Alisha will be with me, that's to soothe your panic
while you wait there, So she and Elisha take off.
She just plus, I need to check someone to check

(08:38):
on my husband when he returns, especially after what happened
on Cloud City. And from there we cut to Caltrace
and she has arrived and she meets President Schwaren, who
is wearing this really I guess that, I say, maybe
can't breathe air. They're wearing this like aquatic device. Looks
like an underwater device. And she tells him, you know,

(08:58):
you seem distressed, and he said, well, it's been a
great challenge. It's been a challenging time. The galaxy's experiencing
great tumult, and she says, it's a good time to
find community. To his Vain, that's his name. It's why
I was confused by Caltrace's rejection of our offer to
join the New Republic, says, we can support each other,
old friend. The resources Caltrace provides to the New Republic
would help us become more secure, and in return, we

(09:20):
would provide Caltrace with a greater sense of unity. He says.
Believe me, Leah, I understand all, but you must also
see this is out of my control. She says, what
is out of your control? And she realizes something is up.
I guess her spider sense the Force is telling her
and she says, Elisia, we need to get back to
the ship, and they immediately get set upon by a

(09:44):
bunch of stormtroopers. President starts apologizing, he says, and one
of the troopers says, we don't need to keep anyone
alive except the princess. So Leah says, do as I
do as he says, Kith, we don't have much time.
That's Aleisia. We don't have much choice. A common proper
on cal trace, it seems. And so from there we
go back to Chandrella. Han has landed and he's found

(10:05):
out that Ley has gone to the funeral sector, and
Valance says, Orlando's crew said garlev ship was headed that way,
and so we know that Rana stle the ship. And
Hans says, you know Garlett kid, And Luke says, I've
heard the name. He's a freedom fighter for his people
than a guy. And Hans says, well, was he's dead now?

(10:27):
He crashed Land of a Class said he's looking for me. Orlando.
We never got to find out what he needed. He says,
we failed him. I don't know if they failed him,
but they did the best they could. And Luke tells
a story about raiders attacking their trade vessels. We corded
him one of them and a guy pilot with some
kind of double agent pointed me to gadriland before destroying himself.

(10:49):
But I also discovered a gang the Zontark were using
it as a holding area for enslaved and a guy
so that somehow got an Imperial hardware and reperend weaponry.
But my arrivals scared them off. They burned the entire
town down. They were ruthless. And he says, well, that
about tracks with what we discovered. What about Garla? How'd
you find this out? He has a friend, she's gone now, jesuit.
She said Garlab was their leader, trying to fight for

(11:11):
his people's freedom. Hans says, so the Zontark are tied
into the attacks on our ships in Garla's death. I'm
too old for coincidences. And Rinn says, if Garlish kill
her is heading to the funeral sector, Hans says, then
we're already behind buckle in. This might get bumpy and
they take off the head there back I said, We're
back on Caltreas and Leah and Alisha are in u Kith.

(11:35):
We'll call her are in a cell and Kith says
it's only a matter of time before man realizes their problem.
Lay says, we don't have the luxury of Kith follow
my lead, and she starts acting like she's choking, So
Kith gets the door to open. The trooper comes in says,
what's all the ruckus? He was helping Medick get someone
in here. Can't you see she's dying. He says, I'll
have to and Leah kicks him and knocks him out

(11:57):
with one kick, apparently grabs his gun, says this is
where they brought us in, and Kit says, we have
to go, Princess, and she says no. She realizes that
the president is imprisoned as well, says you know me
well enough. On aw Alisha, the new Republic doesn't leave
friends behind, and of course he immediately starts saying, you've

(12:20):
got to understand. She goes, we've known each other since
we were children. Tusvine, don't apologize, but do tell me
who's forcing your hand. Almavar, the Pirosi leader, maybe talk
about this on the way. Maybe maybe it's just me.
I don't know. But he reveals that she has a
puppet master, Praetro Coyon, who we know is Rhana Oscure.
So they approach his friends looking for a partner for
the funeral Consortium their building. But I soon learned that

(12:41):
they had other friends, the zon Tark, this gang we
learned about. They wanted you as bait for your brother.
They believe he knows too much, he says, and Kit
says that this is a trap for Luke and of
course they've been found out, so breaching Ptul three fifteen
and she tells the President will cover you, but we
will need your help. She says, you'll have it no

(13:02):
matter what. Leah, that's what friendship means. And he runs off,
and so they start, they start shooting, and they Leah
says their only chance is to get back to the ship,
and Kis says, no way. The Caltrace defenses will let
us off the planet. She goes, well, we can't worry
about that now, after she shoots a trooper. Just can't

(13:22):
worry about that now if Sharin Phils will be dead
before we leave the ground. And so from there, the
Falcon is about to arrive and Valance says, not expecting
a warm welcome here solo and he says, I got
no time for the pleasantries myself. Balance he says, Zenat
you look like you speak diplomacy. This is rad He says,
tell these dryed acts. We want lay in her team

(13:42):
back yesterday. He says, they're not not sure, they're ut
for talking to us. I just says, damn it, and
what can it ever be easy? And we he's surrounded
by imperial looking ships, all sorts of ties and it
looks like a republic cruiser even and Luke, he says, well,
now where's the fun in lack is Luke, this is
the way this is all shaping up. It's going to

(14:03):
be anything but fun. And back inside, the President is
doing something and he says, may the Force be with you, princess,
and he hits a button and says, my friend, and
those are his last words because he gets killed brutally
by the stormtroopers. I says, see what he was up to,
But unfortunately they've destroyed the computer or he has. And

(14:24):
back in space, the Falcon has taken some hits, and
Valan says, you know, we have to get to the
surface if we need to save your wife. And Hans says,
it looks like we're starting to look like we're the
ones who needs saving, and Rin notices that the Caltrace
defences have shut down. The rest of their fleet is grounded.
And if I'm reading this right, they're blasting their own ships.
And we cut down to the bottom to the planet

(14:45):
and we see that that's exactly what's happening. These big lasers
are hitting a bunch of tie fighters, and Han notices
that the ships are stopping, they're pulling back. He says,
this dumb luck or we get falk and do you
read me? This is princess. And then he says, Leah,
I thought you were We were here to pull you out.
She's just funny how that works. Huh, She says, listen
to me. Han head back home to Ben. I'm not
sure how long I can hold this can hold them off,

(15:07):
but we got lucky here. But and Kit says, Princess,
we're getting an urgent message from the surface. She says,
connect the Malaysia and it's raina oscure and she says
I've heard. Lias says, I've heard much about you. You
to think for this disaster. She says, I'm merely assisting
the Federal Consortium. She tells him President schwar And is dead.
His perversion of his own planets meager defenses will serve

(15:28):
as his final crime against the people of a colch Race.
So the planet now stands with the Funeral Consortium. You're
not welcome in the sector. Be wary of the choices
you make. Leah says, well, Oscar, if you and Almavar
are so upset, show it all. I see here your
ships scurrying away, your reserves and shambles. If you think
a bluff will send us running, you have a lot
to learn. The New Republic doesn't scare that easily. And

(15:51):
the Prime ministers Oscar, this was not what I was promised.
And Raina says, the strategic repeat retreat is sometimes and
the imperils No, the Prime Minister says no. For the
funeral Consortium distraught to thrive, retreat must never be an option.
So she's one of those that believes in showing strength
rather than just being strong. So what we find out,

(16:15):
mon says it Lea is on route back to Shandrella.
We must deal with this funeral crisis immediately now that
we know that they're disrupting a diplomatic efforts. So unfortunately
we'll have to wait to discuss anything Han because we
refuged a stressed signal from one of the trading vessels
attacked by the Zon Tarka ship we thought lost, and
this is the crew we learned about at the end

(16:35):
of the last issue. Luke says they're alive. That's great news.
And she says a crash landed on Laura Dell in
the funeral sector, but they do not appear to be alone.
I'm sure in the recording we were able to recover it,
says I repeat. We're stranded in the funeral sector. We're surrounded. Please,
looks like we crashed next to well, a functioning ship
from the Separatist Alliance. And then we hear Roger Roger

(16:58):
look out take over. They're everywhere run ry and that
we get it to be continued. Hopefully the next issue
doesn't end with a panel referencing back to this one.
Hopefully we actually get to find out what's happening on
this planet next time. Really good issue, a lot happening,
a lot packed in there, we get, We get some
good time with with all of the main characters. Really

(17:18):
really enjoyed it. But but I do I am looking
forward to seeing what's going to happen with the with
the battle Droids in the next issue. With that, we'll
