Speaker 1 (00:00):
You are listening to Star Wars Splash Page, Comics and Reviewer.
This is episode number four hundred and sixty five, and
we've got two books for you this week, including Marvel's
Doctor Afro Chaos Agent and dark Horse Comics Hyperspace Stories
Codebreaker number three of four.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
A stage spin. I'm a beer park on.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
I don't want sits running the gas scenes Jet Jeff
here recording.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Split, So let's die right in and look at the news.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
First and foremost, November.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Solicits are out for Marvel and December so sits are
out for dark Horse U. The can he take away
from Marvel solicits is the fact that Doctor Afra was
not included among them. Now, this series goes through at
least issue five throughout October twenty ninth, but the trade
paperback is solicited for issues one through ten, So until
that solicit is changed, we are still going to bank

(01:15):
on there being at least ten issues of this series.
And it's likely given the I want to say shortened
month of November, but the fact that there's a rather
enormous US holiday at the end of that month, it
may just be skipping the month and we'll be out
again in December with the issue number six. Also revealed
from the solicits, Ethan Sachs, who's writing this week's episode

(01:39):
of this week's issue of Codebreakers, is going to be
doing Star Wars Boba Fett, Black White, and Red, number
three of four. So that's going to be a lot
of fun. And as we posted on Blue Sky, we
would be happy beyond compare if there was even the

(02:01):
slightest mention of Nikano Lash from his run on Bounty Hunters,
although he was very funny. He replied, you know, he
hopes that people are not arachnophobic in this issue. That's
probably a nod to the fact that we see some
Bomar Monks on a couple of covers for those issues
that were solicited. Dark Horse has just the one solicit

(02:21):
and that's going to be of course, Hyper Space Stories,
the Bad Batch Rogue Agents number one of four. That
is the same creative team that we had on Ghost Agents,
and really looking forward to that and also not Solicitors,
which I should say previously solicited for December is the
Young Jedi Adventures hardcover, collecting the two pre comic book
day stories as well as a brand new one. Other

(02:46):
than that, Cavin Scott is going to be right or
is not going to be but has written a new
audible original Star Wars The Jaws of Jack Who and
it is it's set between the Lot Jedi and the
Rise of Skywalker and it sees Ray struggling with her
training under her new master, General Lea or Ghana.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
Well it's not a comic book.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
We think it's kind of cool given the fact, you
know that Cavin has had quite quite a lot of
sequel trilogy content and stories that he's written. As a
matter of fact, you know, he he mentioned the go
is On bad Lands alongside Derek Charm, you know when

(03:28):
back in idw Star Wars Adventures in twenty seventeen. He
also did another story about Ray's doing her training with
the Luke Skywalker and Star Wars Adventures number twenty six.
So and then, of course, you know, so it's nice
to see him returning to a familiar locale, if you will.

(03:49):
So that is pretty much it for the news. So
why don't we dive right in and we'll be right
back with Marvel's Star Wars Doctor Afrok Agent number three. Okay,
we are back, and thank you Marvel. Star Wars doctor
Afro Chaos Agent number twenty number not twenty three, but

(04:12):
number three. The episode or the episode it's called an
episode that's one of those. The title is luck Bey
a totem written by Cherish Chen. Art is by Gabriel Guzman.
Color art is by Mike Ettia VC's Jared VC's Joe
Karamanya handle is handling the letter SORRYS can't find my
words today is handling the letters. The main cover is

(04:34):
by Ejakur, and there are variants, including ones by Bengal
and then Revenge of the Sith twentieth anniversary variant by
Chris Sprouse, Carl's Story in NEI Ajmnon and another one
by David Lopez. Carlos Lao is the book designer. Jay
Bowen is the logo designer.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Mikey J.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Basso and Drew Baumgartner are the assistant editors. Mark Paninzia
is the editor in CB Sebalski is the editor in chief,
and for Marvel we've got Robert Simpson as the senior editor.
Grace Rris the associate editor. Michael sigline I Mike is
the creative director. Troy Alders is the art director. The
creative art manager is Bill Shostag, and from the story group,
we've got Pablo Hodalgo, Matt Martin, and Emily Skulkhani. So

(05:14):
to bring up to speed in this series for Doctor Afra,
she is now working for the New Republic. She is
joined Dagger, which is a shadowy subdivision of the New Republic,
and this team specializes in hunting down important and dangerous
archaeological artifacts, which is sort of you know, right up
a alley. However, as we discovered in the first issue
of this series, her electro tattoos were deactivated, which you know,

(05:40):
is causing Afro some real concern. So she has just
completed a mission with Luke Skywalker and now she's back
on Nakadia, a Dagger headquarters where she's listening to Mediora,
who is briefing the team about a totem that belongs
you know, to the to the Campy tribe, the Campy
p people and the importance of it. And what has

(06:04):
happened is a gangster, you know, a criminal underworld lord
has agreed to return the camp He's precious totem of
Marsi in a bid to sort of stay in the
good graces of the New Republic. But of course, you know,
being a criminal underlord, Sabi Sabo asity, I'm sure as

(06:29):
you will be is doing so for shall we say,
less than beneficent reasons. No, no, no, criminal underlord likes
to give away something and not get something back for it.
So of course an Afra is very very much pointing
this out to Meniora, the fact that Sabi Sabo Acidy

(06:50):
is not exactly the nicest guy, and he's known for
his brutality. You know, she says, Is this the Sabi
Sabo who fed his own brother to a pack of
feral cracks eels for a bottle of Yes, the crime
lord who routinely drowned his enemies in the vats of
to Toed sour before disposing of their remains in the
fallution swamps. Yes, that's Sabi Sabody and he's just giving

(07:11):
away a priceless relic. This must be a trap. Sabi
Sabo didn't become who he is by offering kind gesters
out of the blue.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
What nerf Hurger came up with this plan? And that's weird?

Speaker 1 (07:19):
That would be me And it's Han Solo, Hello everyone,
nice to see you again, doc uh And that's yeah,
it's General Solo. Then he walks in. Then he is
joined by ladies Earring and Stingsy and they will be
you know, emissaries for the compy on this mission. Now,
of course, uh Afra is very smitten with lady's earring,

(07:44):
noticing that she is carrying some very interesting uh some blasters.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
Uh you know, and of.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Course she is just like wow, these these old things,
they're mostly ceremonial and you know, finally media has to say,
Afra present, you're on this mission. Solo will need someone
to authenticate the totem. Oh are you sure you don't
want me on that six month expedition on hawth instead
or you don't wish to join us? Zerring says, oh,
I promise it's not you. I'm just allegit to psychopathic

(08:10):
gangsters who are like melting their enemies. And Sabi Sabo
definitely fits that descriptions. Should we be concerned, And that's
where Hans steps up and we see Sabi Sabo, you
know who it's very eel more a eel look like
looking creature and yeah, Sabi Sabi Sabo's reputation is richly

(08:30):
deserved and some Meteora says general Solo, you have the
most personal experience here. Perhaps you can give us some context.
And this is where we get some nice background for
people who may not be, you know, deep into the
Star Wars lore like we are or you are.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
Here's a short version.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
After the mess of the Clone Wars, there was a
void the criminal leadership on Fellushah new Blood was eager
to fill it, and after a particularly bloody conflict, Sabi
Sabo and his quarter clan came out on top to celebrate,
he commissioned another disreputable upstart to smuggle the totem out
of raw. That disreput will upstart being me of course,
hopefully this expedition is an opportunity to right some of

(09:06):
the wrongs and bring the tone of back to its
rightful owners and actresses like ah, so that's why you're
leading this crazy mission because you stole it in the
first place.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
And do you feel badly? Huh? Sure? Doc?

Speaker 1 (09:15):
And then this is you know one of the members
of Diagresses, Well, what significant does the totem hold? Well,
this is where Lady Xyring says, well, according to our elders,
it was forged by the sun gods and for generations
of Campy, it bestowed long periods of sustenance in peace.
As such, legend says, the totem is imbued with extraordinary luck,
the belief long healthy are people, which is now extended

(09:37):
to those who have held subsequent position, to which Metiora adds, well,
let's hope you find out find some of that luck
on this mission.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
Do you leave immediately? Luck?

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Says Affort As they leave and she turns her head back,
we shall see. So we get aboard the falcon and
they are making their way to Felucia. Meanwhile, you know,
Afra is doing some low key flirting with her new
friend while.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
In the cockpit of the falcon.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
You know, she and Han are catching up, and there's
still some bad blood, you know, as Hans says, it's
been a while, Doc, I can still feel those wasp
ORMs stinging. And of course that's from way back in
twenty fifteen's Star Wars number thirteen. Yeah, how's it been
going from metallic ice cube to trophy General?

Speaker 4 (10:19):
Not bad?

Speaker 1 (10:20):
How's it been going from Imperial Lackey to New Republic Lackey,
uh noted A says he's up on the carbon ied Doc.
Let's just get to this mission in one piece, shally.
And so they arrive, and the quarter clan is got
a wonderful little palace, and we see Sabi on his
throne and yeah, very much a moray eel kind of species,

(10:42):
resplendent in green robes with armored epilots and towering over Han,
you know. And Sabbi says, welcome to the quarter plan
and Hans is Sabby, your big sack of slime.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
You're even uglier than I remembered.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Ah, generally, not just still the only rogue I'd ever
let into my home alive. Welcome back to Solo and
the famous copy. You have made a long journey. Thank you, Asidy,
your fierceness on behalf of the campy. We are glad
to receive this gesture and to welcome this toe. Wait
a minute, what is this an oily mark? Then he's
a spying the totem. Who's responsible for this display? I

(11:17):
was clear on the importance of this being properly arranged?

Speaker 4 (11:19):
Was I not? Was it you? Taki?

Speaker 1 (11:22):
No, Sir, I would never And Sabby just turns in
and bites Saki's whole ahead and proceeds to eat him whole,
which discussed on and discuss Afra and then finally.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
Burp, pardon the interruption.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
We don't tolerate poor observance of orders here, nah, the
notorious doctor Aphra, I will have to keep an eye
on you. Ah this zero need to acknowledge my existed
sir uh. And then you know the Copierre saying there
it is the totem of Marxi, and Sabbi says, I
have survived much chaos with it by my sign. But
perhaps the dawn of the new Republic is a sign
that changes in the stars for all of us and

(11:59):
says that's very progressive of you, Sabby. If you're ready,
perhaps we can let the doctor take a look, be
my guest, after you. Doc after walks it up, picks
it up, analyzes it, looks at it, and says under
her breath, no, no, no, no, what did Medior say?
Such patterns were never seen on items related to their deities.

(12:21):
Thank you for the opportunity to examine such a precious relic.
And she walks back over to haunts in general, that's
a fake tote um up there, you joking? And you know,
ladies earlings like, is there an issue? Oh am, I
not surprised. Oh, that's right, because I said this is
going to happen right before we left. KRK he ate
his own clansmen over a fake. That's commitment. We need

(12:44):
to find the original lady's earing. How are your powers
of distraction the stings, you know, any disturbing jokes? And
after's like, wait a minute, you want to secretly poke
around the quarter clan's headquarters improvised? Do you have a
better idea? Let's just take the fake. It's a pretty good,
pretty good one anyway. So Hi looks over just hey, stingsy,
quick question, do you remember the time that lieutenant of
you were slipping too a sour pitt and drowned? I

(13:06):
bet Sabbi would love to hear all the gruesome details.
It was one for the ages. Oh, I suppose I
could recount the story. Great, while your lady are hearing,
are relating the tail, doc and I will retrieve that
gift we prepared from the ship. Be back shortly, all right,
And so that's what happens is uh, you know, the
campy go to entertain Sabby and Han and Afra are

(13:29):
making their way through the quarter plants headquarters trying to find.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
The original, and that's what they do.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Uh, And it works out nicely, and they get into
the quarters where the original totem is find it in
the canton, the bucket, if you will, the storage had
storage case, and of course is holding us is. Now,
if someone had been wiped out my electric tattoos, I'd
have crackediced. I'd have cracked this thing open just by
looking at it. But now this is going to be tricky.

(14:00):
And Hon just pulls out his blaster and taps it.
Fu fuck key pops out. Ah, Oh, you don't know
that one. Looks like this general knows a lot a
thing or two more about, say, cracking, than you do, Doc,
you smug smuggler.

Speaker 4 (14:13):
That's right. And so.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
It turns out that you know, they have found the
original and uh, Sabby gives the fake to the comby
and they're about to leave, and as they're leaving, we
get a gun to afters said, sorry, Afra, you're not
departing just yet. Oh, this is very disappointing, and it is,
of course Lady's earring who has a kind of Afra's head.

(14:41):
I'm going to need the totem, the genuine one. Police
and sobs like, what is the meaning of this, Zerring says,
you tried to pawn a fake on us, Sabby, but
the sure doctor here caught your rubs and retrieved the
real thing for us. And Ha's like, I don't get it.
The whole point was to return the total to your people.
Lady's Eering. Oh, we're not going back to the ca
capital stings He says, We're going far far away to

(15:02):
live our lives in peace without any more obstacles. Finally,
Syring says, and of course Zabbia is now pissed. This
is ridiculous. Kill them and next thing you know, pe
poo pew pewp man Sabia shot. Sabi's tenants are shot,
all due to Lady Zerring. And I just remember that
you know her species has three arms, which is really
it's kind of unsettling, Like, what's kind of cool? I

(15:24):
told you that I may surprise you, doctor, Zering says,
the ceremonial plasters my ass our ship is waiting for us. Here,
it's time to go, says Stingsy. The quarter Klan will
chase you to the edges of the galaxy, and Zerring says,
we'll see if your luck can outpace hours. It was
fun after it, don't take it too personally. Well, we
have good news and bad news. The bad news is

(15:45):
is I think that they have that may have been
the love of my life and she's running off with
an absolute slimo. Afort says, which I think is kind
of fun because I know one of the criticisms of
this series so far is the fact that there's been
really don't mention of Magnetvin or Sanastaro's but this is
also just Afra being afro so and Hans says, the
good news is they just left with a fake and

(16:09):
of course you know Sabbi is not dead. He's back
on a throne. I cursed the day I agree to
this exchange. Explain yourselves, actressays Solo. He says, after you
call it luck, call it years of dodging death. I
have a bad feeling about that room. We need insurance, Han,
and this is a flashback. Things can go sideways in
there now. It's not what it looks like. No, no, no,
another copy. Don't tell me you were going to pull

(16:30):
up a double cross. Wow, you still are a dirty schedule.

Speaker 4 (16:32):
How do you want to do this?

Speaker 1 (16:34):
And Han says, don't be offended this this deco was
insurance against you, you know, but you know, so that's
why they ended up having, you know, another duplicate which
they gave to the lady's hearing. And so Sabbi is like,
so what now, smuggler scum my crew is outside. I
could kill you both, keep the true tote for myself.

(16:54):
Tell your Republic you New Republic, but you never landed
on Pellusha. Sorry, Sabbi Han says, but this whole arrangement
was done with the full backing of New Republic intelligence.

Speaker 4 (17:04):
Killing us only trigger a search party and you would
end your reign here.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
Ah, I'm too old for these politics, Sabbi says, tell
me about it. But Sabi, your legacy is as shirt.
What do you need the totem for? Let it return
to its people, allow the campy to rebuild what was lost.
So that's what happens, and they end up deciding, you
know what a says. Affra says, we have the two totems,
let's flip a coin. Heads gets heads, Sabi, Sabo gets

(17:28):
the totem. Tails that goes to the copy. May luck
be in your favor. The coin is flipped and we
are aboard the falcon, flying away. What do you think,
says Han? Will history ever be able to distinguish between
the two, and Afra says, I don't think it matters
that much. I'm not even sure luck exists. I used
to think so believing helped me survive the tough moments.
Now good luck seems to be more the result of

(17:50):
doing good work. Han says, do you sound like Skywalker?
Afris says, I guess so luck is a bit like
the wind maybe. Afras says, not very quantifiable, but it
would be nice to have at the galaxy. Perhaps the
total will show us if that's true. And then as
they say that, the falcon goes cripral what not again,
I just replaced the hyperdrive motivator, Hans says, don't say it, Doc,

(18:13):
I'm not. Maybe the camp won't be able to tell
the difference. And that's where we end. And so we
get our next issue and it's number four and it's
going to be Chebacco and it looked like Chrysanthon as well.
So good issue, fun, nice little one and done and
nothing to complain about that there, so so definitely do

(18:34):
check it out.

Speaker 5 (18:40):
All right, Thank you Matt for the news and the review.
Of this week's Marvel book. I am here to talk
about our dark Horse offering for the week, which is
Star Wars Hyperspace Stories Codebreaker number three. This is part
three of four titled Nowhere to Run, Nowhere to Hide.
It's a great song from the sixties. This book was

(19:02):
written by Ethan Sachs, penciled by Mark Yarza, inked by
Jose Marzan Junior, colored by Nicola REIHI. If I'm saying
that incorrectly, I apologize, Please let me know. It's a
letter by comic crafts Tyler Smith and Jimmy Baittencourt. Cover
art is by Diego Galindo. Publisher on this book is
Mike Richardson. Editor is Spencer Cushing, Assistant editor is Joe Cavanaugh,

(19:24):
Designer is Rebecca Gee, Digital art technician is Conley Presler.
Pre press is Jake Johnson. And for Lucasfilm Creative director Malcols,
sigline editor grayce Aris, Senior editor Robert Simpson, Art director
Troy Alders, creative art manager Phil Showstack, and for the
LUCASILM Story Group Matt Martin, Pablo Hudalgo and Emily Shkukhani.

(19:44):
Speaking of the cover, it's it's it's an interesting cover.
You get the big I can't ever think of the
creature's name with the big big creature we saw in
the the Moses Cantina and the Force awakens and we
have a hologram of Podammer and BB eight in front
of him with a highlight of the title of fleeing
the First Order. So we opened this one up, and

(20:07):
we're in Narcaga City in the Market district. And if
you recall, Poe was sent out to find a code breaker,
which he thought was going to be a device or
at least an adult that the First Order was keeping
locked up. Turns out it's a kid. It's a moon
same as Darth Plagis. I believe, yes, Darth legas a

(20:29):
banking clan and there so Poe and Cheka is the
kid's name, and BB eight are on the run and
they're trying to find another way off the ship and uh,
Cheka notices that the wanted bulletin is not a great likeness.

(20:50):
My chin doesn't quite look like that, which is funny,
and Poe, you know, begs him to come on, and
he's getting a lip from bbaight at the same time, too.
It just makes me laugh. So they run up there,
there's first Order stormtroopers looking for them. Thankfully they haven't
been noticed. They make their way to what he thinks
is going to be a safe house and immediately get

(21:11):
told to go away. And he opens the door and
it's I can't remember the creature's name, but he's one
of those with the horns. And he says, which part
exactly is not as bad as it looks because poseat
is not as bad.

Speaker 4 (21:22):
As it looked.

Speaker 5 (21:25):
And uh so this is this is somebody that that
he knows, and he said, he's asking him, he's we
need to get the goal of safety. She could help
the resistance, and it's got the stuff right there. You
mistake me for someone who cares. And gross Shank is
his name. Sorry I didn't mention that. He says, this

(21:45):
is for a higher cost, a gross Shank, and gross
Shank says, I only believe in a higher price for
my services. But but this is on the house. He says,
I secured your berths on a commuter shuttle to Hosney
in Prime under fake names. Figured you'd probably cript this
whole mission up. The post says, I don't know what say,
and he says, well goodbye is enough, So he tosses
him out the door. And he had mentioned earlier that
there's a bounty on their head, and he goes. He

(22:06):
gets on a communicator and he says, how much did
you say that bounty was? So we know they're probably
still in trouble. So Poe asked check out how ended
up in the service of the First Order, and Checkis says,
a story. It's a bit of a downer. He says, well,
it hasn't actually been a kemtono of laughs so far,
so try me so the story. It is a tragic story,

(22:27):
says Ever since I can remember, I've been able to
process large amounts of data after just a glance and
detect patterns that others could not. She's a Samot. So
my mother believed it was a gift from the force.
My father thought it was a gift to the Banking Clan.
He worked for them and thought that my skills would
enhance my family status. He miscalculated, which is a great line,
sort of an understatement. The banking plan gave me to

(22:47):
the First Order. My father realized his mistake and tried
to stop them from taking me off world. He didn't
stand a chancing yet to also stormtroopers. My mom once
told me that if we ever were separated, the force
to bring us together. But I've come across no scientific
for evidence it would support such hope. So this is
this is a pretty tragic tale for this character. And
Post says, I'm sorry. I know how it feels to
lose a parent. I lost my mother around your age,

(23:09):
but she's still with me every day. Once you're safely
and resistance custody and check us, says, then they will
use my abilities just as the first order did. He goes,
that's that's not in the fact of the matter. Is
she's right? He she they're right. I think it's a female,
but I'll go with they, And BB eight chimes in again.
He says, we were giving orders. BB What do you
expect me to do? He says, I promise we'll get

(23:32):
you to safety. We're close to leaving this planet and
putting the worst danger behind us. And then he says,
there's worst danger behind us, isn't there? And he turns
around and there's this big guy and he says, he
picks him up with one hand, pull up by his
head with one hand, says, can't we talk about this,
and just shoves him away and posts, I guess not,

(23:53):
and he says, come to Grimgar, little girl, I don't
have to kill you to collect the bounty. He goes,
that is very generous of you. It's a grum Gars.
This guy's name, and BB eight sets his pants on fire,
which of course causes him to kick BB eight all
over the place, and Poe gets up and says, come back,
I'm not finished with you. I love pose attitude. He
gets attacked by Kuwaki and Monkey Lizard, a salacious crumb creature,

(24:17):
and he says, it's not like the big brute needs
more help and than gramp what is his name? Grumgar
knocks Pose blaster out of his hand, and of course
Poe says it too late to talk this out. Then
I guess my fist will have to do the talking.
I'll let you know that I was trained in hand
to hand comback by the Spice Runners a KA Jimmy.

(24:38):
And he's hitting him, the guy just Graham guard. He says, well,
how embarrassing for your old crew, and Poe hits somebody
he says out and he says, my turn, and he
just lays him out flat and check says you should
have named for the side of his head behind his
ear doits and skull ridges are slightly less thick there slightly.
He says, well, it's good to know for next time.
Grum Gar says, won't be a next time. First starts

(24:59):
playing a lot of credits to kill you and to
bring the girl back. As for that annoying droid, Gromgar
will destroy that one for free, and postas just do it.
As Grumgar has his hand around pose neck and he says, oh,
you got a death wish or something, and Posta as
I wasn't talking to you, babe, runs right into him,
hits him. A monkey lizard starts scratching at his eyes.

(25:23):
Poe gets a gets a metal rod and cracks him
on the side of the head side of the head
skull ridge. He says, thank you for the suggestion. Then
they get set upon by these stormtroopers and Boebe says
something and posts a little optimism wouldn't hurt buddy, I
mean our luck is bound to improve sometime, and then
he asks check Out, how did you know where to

(25:43):
hit the doe? And he says, I read a lot
remember at least I read a lot. You should try
You should try reading sometimes, he goes I read sometimes.
For example, I know something about puffer pigs, and I
feel like this is a reference that we've seen elsewhere,
so I'll defer to Matt on that one. But he
picks one up, and of course it expands like a
puffer and throws it at starts to throw it in.
The poor guy selling the puffer picks is not again,

(26:06):
and then the storm troopers say not again. So this
is something I believe this may have happened even in
another issue of this book. Folks. I'm telling you, I
read these books and then I move on, and if
something reminds me of something, I'll remember it eventually. So
they're almost to the commuter shuttle and they see a
bunch of stormtroopers there, so they know they're not going
to make it past the stormtroopers. And a droid comes

(26:29):
up and says, sir, pardon my eavesdropping, but if you
seek an alternative destination, I suggest taking the shuttle to
the Museum of the Battle over both the Woui and
we see a hologram of the space station. It is
a captivating look at one of the key battles of
the Clone Wars, and it needs some visitors since the
First Order scared away all the tourists. So Phoebe says, whoop,

(26:49):
and so would they take off in this shuttle really
cool looking shuttle too, And Bibe's still talking to Poe
because I know she's just a kid. She's also got
a gift, one that could stop a war before it starts,
and BB says something else, and Post says, it's not
my call. Some things are bigger than all of us.
But he says, I know she's just a kid. So
they get to the Museum of the Battle over Batha.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
Wu.

Speaker 5 (27:12):
I assume I'm saying that correctly. It's really cool looking.
I like this little like geodesic dome in the middle
looks a little like Epcot Center on the green. And
they land and then the course Post says ends up.
BB it's an attack because he sees a bunch of
battle droids and some ships and everything, and the battle
droid says, no greetings, no reason to disintegrate me, sir,
I mean, look like an old battle droid, but well,

(27:34):
technically I am an old battle droid. I have, however,
been completely repurposed to be a fully functional tour guide.
I am now known as Guy Dee, as the reprogrammers
either had a limited imagination or a good sense of humor. Anyway,
Welcome to the museum, and they're looking around, and I
have a feeling I know where this is going to go.
I think Poe's probably gonna hijack one of these ships,
because he talks about the fact that they've all been

(27:55):
retrofitted and rebuilt. The Museum is a chronicle of the
Clone War, sending on a battle for the Giant Gas
the jet gas Giant below us a key Republic victory
over a larger separatist fleet led by the notorious General Grievous.
Then he says, we refurbished this beauty, so it's as
good as new. And again that tells me what's going
to happen in the next issue. He says, let's move

(28:18):
on to the separatist naval exhibit, shall we? And Post
says this is all quite fascinating, but do you have
a transmitter I can borrow? So it gets to the
transmitter and sends his message in and he goes, she
could be the key, So what is a sheep? She
could be a key to defeating Cali Ren and his forces.
It's just that's a lot of responsibility to ask, responsibility
to ask if a kid, given the change in circumstances,

(28:39):
I wonder if we should rethink my original order. That's
if I can get to you, get back to you.
Max Wing is lost and I need an extraction quickly.
I'm sending you my coordinates now. And so from there
we cut to the General offices and we have someone
that says, tells Jennifer Scoreshawan, we have an intercepted to
distressed golfer and a resistance pilot name of Damer and

(28:59):
we it tells him where they traced it, and she says,
should I alert General organize per her request? And this
guy General says that will not be necessary. I will
handle the delivery of the message myself. And he's smiling
in such a way that makes me think he's not
going to deliver the message.

Speaker 4 (29:17):
So we'll see.

Speaker 5 (29:19):
But back at the museum that the battle, Droid is
going is going over his spiel, and of course Cheka
is taking all of this in, he says, And while
the Separatis are Mauda closed in for the kill, the
republic forces orchestrated in an ambush positioning tanks on the
asteroid ring that surrounds the planet, and Checka says, that
is so wizard. The droid says, it does seem quite
wizard indeed, to be a pilot on an important mission.

(29:43):
And CHECKI says, well, maybe you'll have a chance someday.
I've always wanted to be a pilot too, but that
was not logically plausible for a moon child from the
planet Scipio. So maybe one day both of us can
be heroic pilots together. And Poe is watching them, and
Bibi runs into a battle droid and and knocks it over,

(30:03):
which then knocks over all the droids in line with it.
You know a lah, you know motorcyclesky. It kind of
made me laugh, And the droid says, oh dear, that
brings back some archive trauma. I'm gonna have to remember
that when that brings back some archived to trauma. And

(30:25):
the alarm stets going off, and be and Post says,
the great baby, look what you did, And he says, no,
that's a proximity alarm. It's proximity alarm that means, and yeah,
the problem is it's not the it's not the Resistance,
it is the first order. We got a really cool
TI Advanced or TI interceptor that's painted red. It says

(30:47):
the mission priority is to get the code breaker, but
after that, po Dammern is mine, it says, to be concluded.
It's our next issue. We get a really cool look
at the cover battling the Bansheet. I'm gonna be interested
to see how this book ends, and I like that
Poe is having some givings about the work he's being
asked to do, but he's still going to carry it out.
So we'll be right back. Take a short break, I'll

(31:08):
be right back to discuss these solicits for next week. Okay,
very simply for next week, we only have two books
from Marvel. We have I'm very excited about this one.
We have han solo Hunt for the Falcon number one,
number one of five, and we have a Legacy of
Vader issue number eight, which you know, the last issue

(31:29):
we were sort of sort of unclear about how I
feel about the series, but I'm looking forward to the
next issue to see what happens. So we will be
back next week. Matt and I will hopefully be able
to record together. But If not, you know you'll hear
from one or both of us. But we'll be back
with reviews of those and any other news that comes out.
And I just have to say, folks, if you're not

(31:50):
watching the new season of King of the Hill on Hulu,
if you're an all a fan of the show, check
it out. It's better than the last couple of seasons
it had back when it was on. I'm really enjoying it,
full disclosure. It's one of my favorite shows of all time.
It is my favorite animated series of all time. And
the fact that I feel like they did it justice
should be enough to admit you to check it out

(32:11):
if you're at all interested. And if you've never seen
it before, go back and watch the first few seasons
and then then jump in this one. So we'll be
back next week with all of those reviews. Until then.
For Star Wars splash Page, I'm Jeff that was mad.
May the Force be with you always.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
