It's a week of sequel-trilogy inspired and related releases from Marvel this week.

Tava Ren has wrested control of the Knights of Ren but to save them she must ... strike down Kylo Ren? Legacy of Vader #8 changes the focus to Tava from Kylo as we explore the machinations of the Knights Ren since Kylo assumed the supremacy of the First Order.

Han Solo -- Hunt for the Falcon #1 (of 5) helps add more lore to how and why Han Solo lost the Millennium Falcon as Rodney Barnes pens a story that mixes loss, longing and a hint of desperation about Han, Chewbacca and their mutual love: a hunk of junk.

for the Falcon number one of five. Dig me on
the stage, spin make I'm gonna be.

As beerf.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Park on.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
I don't want seats running the Galla scenes.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
I'm gonna be talking about smell. This wouldn't be a
hyper Stays Hyperspace Stories original graphic novel.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
If it wasn't delayed.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Unfortunately, the Hyperspace Story is grievous original graphic novel, which
was initially supposed to be out in like the first
couple of weeks of January, has been pushed back to
February tenth. Technically, it's just a you know, two week delay,
so but no fingers crossed.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
It will not get delayed any further.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
If you head over to the Facebook page or the
Blue Sky feed, you can find a very interesting story
from pop Heist that's sort of it's a it's a
great primer on the The Guy and the Top The
The Guy, of course, are featuring in Alex Sigouri's run
of Star Wars from.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Twenty twenty five, and you know, take it out.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
It's it's a well written story, it's nicely done, and
it's it's it's evocative of what pop Heist has been
doing as a as a culture news website. It's it's
quickly becoming one of my personal favorites. And then of
course you can also head over to the Blue Sky page.
We've got some of the latest variant covers for December
third's Star Wars Legacy of Vader number eleven, which is

(02:03):
a perfect segue for a discussion of Legacy Evader number eight,
which we will discuss right after this short break. All right,
we are back and again this is a Legacy of
Vader number eight. Quite quite intriguing issue. I think it's

(02:25):
going to generate a lot of discussion online and the
usual places, you know, whether it be Blue Sky or
Reddit or whatnot, because of whom it introduces, which is
Tava wren So. And as a matter of fact, Marvel
is going all in on it because it's even written
on the cover introducing the newest Night of Wren Tava

(02:46):
wrint So. This is the Reign of Kylo Ren, Part eight,
written by Charles Soul. Art is by Stefano Rafaela color
artist is Nolan Woodard. Letters are by virtual coliker piece
Joe Caramania Derek who handles the main cover. We do
have variants, including a Revenge of the Sith twentieth Anniversary
variant by Chris Sprouse, Carl Story.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
And Niraje Menon.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
We have another one by Kyle Ingu and then Stephanie
Hans has a really tremendous, tremendous Garret cover that's the
one I ordered.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Book designer is Carlos Slow.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Mikey J. Basso is our assistant editor. Mark Pnitzia is
our editor, and then of course C. B. Sebalski is
our editor in chief for Lucasfilm. We've got editor Grace Aris,
Senior editor Robert Simpson, creative director Michael Siglane, Art director
Troy Alders. From the story group, we have Pablo Hidalgo,

(03:38):
Matt Martin and Elmi Skokhani, and of course we have
our creative art manager, Phil show Stack. So Kylo has
bested or maybe he never even was there to begin
with the missing the Jedi, and uh, what we are

(04:01):
seeing in this issue is what's going on with the
Knights of Ren, and it wastes no time in introducing
Tava wrenn. You know, we get a full page spread
of Tava. My name is Tava Rent and we are
on van door in the mid room, and these are
my nights, the Knights of Wren. But then I'm sure
our reputation proceeds us, Prior, baos oh its, your reputation

(04:25):
is a band of dirt sucking scoundrels scavenging the galaxy
for other people's treasures to fund your dissolute faithless pop slap.
Not that reputation, I mean our reputation for killing anyone
who doesn't do what we want, such as in this
particular case, opening that vault of yours. Never and it's
a very intricate artwork here that Stefano has done in
the colors by no loner.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Just top not.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
Are you sure, Prior, we could really use what's inside.
We need to sell it to fund our what was it,
our dissolute faithless lifestyle. You know you've got us all wrong.
And then she says, as Tapa ignites her blade, We're
not faithless. In fact, we're true believers. We believe in
the shadow and the power it gives us. We believe

(05:08):
in the Wren and the freedom. It reveals our beliefs
make us strong. We'll get what we want eventually. The
question is how many limbs will you have left when
we do. I mean, you don't need your feet to
open a vault. We've killed all your people prior, no
one's coming to help you. Always added other of your beliefs,
Taba wren. And as he says this, we turn the

(05:30):
page and we see, yes, a literal not an army,
but a band of people coming, wielding blades, normal and
perhaps even electro.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
And the prior looks up.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
And says, I think your faith is misplaced, and Taba
realizes it's this blasted and it looks to ignite what
could possibly be a thermal detonator. Ah no, not even
a thermal detonator. Looks like it's all you know. It
actually kind of reminds me of something out of Doune,
both the novel and and the the original movies with

(06:07):
the with the portable shields, and so Tava attacks. There's
a a very furious melee wherein uh, you know, whimbs
are separated from bodies. But Tava seems to be a
little bit giving, getting overwhelmed, you know, for the shadow
for the rent victual grdo I need?

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Where where are you?

Speaker 3 (06:32):
And then you know, the Knights of End she sees
have split there, leaving the temple cowards, and so it
leaves it to Tava to sort of get going. So
she hurls her lightsaber out, uh follows it, you know,
jumps out the window, and we cut to the night Buzzard,
which I've always always thought was a very intriguing looking ship,

(06:53):
and there's a there's Kurik talking to Vicraal. You think
she made it, Vicral considering just ditched her correct? Things
will get complicated if she did. We never should have
come here. Her ambition is going to get us all killed.
We can't wait around. Who knows what other surprises those
monks might have waiting. I'll get the Buzzard up, we'll
be gone, cling you think that's her. If it is,
we're gonna have something explaining to do. And yeah, Tava

(07:16):
jumps up onto the Night Buzzard, gets insides his got
and you know, then she proceeds to dress the knights down.
What in the blazes, what's said? We could have taken them?
I should kill you all. Maybe we didn't feel like
dying because of bad Intel. Tava, you said it'd be
nothing to get in there, take that vault. You were wrong,
So the minute it gets a little hot, you run,
leave your leader behind. You're the Knights of Wren, the

(07:37):
shadow made flesh. What happened to you, Kylo Wren? And
that just sends Tava, you know, like, who the hell
is Kylo Wren? He ran the knights before you came along,
before Badot, So he's the one Badot killed before I
killed him and got you out of that cell. Not

(08:00):
exactly Tellercardo. She should probably know, after all, the targets
probably on her back too. When he first came to us,
he used another name, Ben Solo. Stronger in the shadow
than any night in a very long time. You could
sense it burning through him. It was awful, cold fire.
Ben traveled with us for a time, and then eventually
he battled our leader, who called himself Rin. That guy

(08:21):
thought he was the embodiment of everything we are, the Wren,
pure and simple. He was strong too, but Ben was stronger.
He killed her in and took control of the Knights
of the Traditional Way with a good death. He became
our new leader and gave himself a new name, Kylo
rend And of course, you know, these are the events
that happened in the Rise of Kylo Red mini series
the Charles Soul also penned and Atson. It would have

(08:43):
been nice here for somebody who was not aware of
that mini series. Then Glory and you know, it's sort
of like a Greatest Hits in the Knights of Wren
when you know Kylo Wrinn was leading them before he
became the Supreme leader. We went where we went, where
we wanted, did what we wanted. He took what we wanted, credits,
artifacts and life, lots and lots of life. Kylo went

(09:05):
was real good at that good times for a while,
great times truly. But as the months went on, Kylo
started the change. He was remember the life of the party,
if you know what I mean. But yeah, he started
spending a lot of time alone. We see him talking
to himself or maybe to someone we couldn't hear even
for us. He got dark and we see that because
you know, there's one scene where they're relaying this story

(09:28):
and they're in a tavern. Everyone's you know, you know, happy, joyous, drinking, dancing,
the Knights of Rent, or drinking and dancing. Kylo's rent
of sitting across at another table by himself, his helmet off.
You see Ben solo space and then when he says dark,
Everyone's dead everyone. The Knights of Rent have killed everyone,
and maybe it Kylo wrenn killed everyone. So Kylo started

(09:53):
to bring us on missions, not the usual kind of things.
We did, not robberies or heists. These felt much more purposeful,
like someone out there was aiming the Knights at particular targets.
Someone was pulling our strings, so we didn't know who.
We weren't going to ask either. Crossing Kylo Wren was
a death sentence. They went on like that for a
little while until this one assassination mission some init Rem

(10:13):
war lord. We'd found a stronghold, rooted him out and
had him on the run. He and his people didn't
want to go down easy. They were putting up a
pretty good fight. You know. We see this guy fire
a rocket at Kylo Wren.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
Of course he uses the force to turn it around.
Strike be the guy who fired it.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
I saw Kylo ren get into plenty of battles when
he ran the Knight, some tough opponents, no doubt, but
in the end, no one ever came close. You went
up against Kylo Ren, you lost, and most of the
time you died. We killed the target easy enough, but
after that things got strange. Kylo seemed to sense something
to the shadow. The rest of us didn't just him.
He just he took a step forward, and then from

(10:51):
another direction there he was.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Snoke. So now we have Snowke care. We knew him
from you know, we knew him.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
He'd given us jobs from time to time, set us
up to recruit man Soolo in fact, untrustworthy even by
our standards, but he paid well and he seemed different
that day though, like everything we'd ever seen him do
up to that point was a lie, Like this was
the real hymn and the real Snoke was a monster.
Kylo rinn, it is time, and you know, here's Snoke

(11:23):
on this rain besotten world, in the inner rim, his
imperial his you know, his royal guards behind him, First
Order storm troopers behind him. Master Snoke, what do you
mean you will take the next step towards your destiny.
You will leave this rabble behind. They should be no
longer be in your presence, much less of mine.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
What did you just say? You withered old? You know,
says Victoral.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Crack up. The Knights of Wren are the rats of
the dark Side scrabbling for scraps, says Snoke. They were
useful as you explored and expanded your power, your time
with them, your rule over their chaos. You did well
be pleased. But now that chapter of your story has
reached its natural end? Shall I kill them?

Speaker 2 (12:04):
My master?

Speaker 3 (12:05):
The Night's like, wait, what what are you talking about.
We're loyal, We're the Wren were your guys. No, says Snoke,
I would not have you Sully your blade. There are
other weapons, and he says this. As he says this,
you know we see the First Order troopers rush from
via Knights of Rent, and you know above we can
see Snoke's battleship, you know, with lightning crackling through the sky.

(12:29):
We didn't just roll over. We fought as best as
we could, but Snokes had his death squads on us.
We didn't have the firepower to win that fight, especially
with Vicral down and Kylo Wrinn turned trader, and the
end all we could really do was run, like Snoke said,
like the rats of the Dark Side, not even scrabbling
for scraps, running for our blasted lives.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
We still are.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
It feels like we always will be, and Thomas as well.
I suppose I see it now. The knights of Rent
are broken, and I know why she raises a lightsaber
that's a lit and then turns it off.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
I can fix us.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
Let me cut to the finalizer, the flagship of the
first Order fleet. Hucks and Kylo Renner there, and here's Hucks.
We have the Corellian shipyards fully under our control, Supreme Leader.
Their fabrication plants have minor issues that may delay the
production of capital ships, but we can begin manufacturing fighters immediate.
General Hwks, Supreme Leader, forgive my interruption, but we have

(13:29):
a ship requesting boarding. Clear it's not one of ours.
It's using a tight Man comm's code that was once
a private line to the Supreme Leader's predecessor, to which
Hucks says, is there a designation? Surely you must have
more information, and Commander I do, sir. The designation is
night Buzzard. That's it who in all the galaxies? And

(13:49):
then Kylo says, give them access, let them board. Old
friends have come to pay me a visit. Then we
see the night Buzzard approach the docking bay and land
and greeted by First Order troopers and Kylo and Tava
Wren walks out of the docking ramp. Hello, Kylo Renn,

(14:10):
who are you supposed to be? And then Tava reaches
up to her helmet, grasps it and removes it. I
am called Tava. I am a Knight of Wren, and
I am at your service. Tava's got red hair, luminescent

(14:35):
green eyes, and of course the the tattoo on her
neck that the but of the leader we met in
the Rise of Kylo w Ren. So this is gonna
generally generate a lot of online debate, you know, Is
this is this like the equivalent tomorrow Jade?

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Who knows?

Speaker 3 (14:53):
I think not, But you know, people like to have
their things and debate them, so let them go. So yeah,
she's coming in as an ally but clearly with an
aim to overthrow Kylo Rent just because I don't think
because she wants to, you know, user control of the

(15:13):
First Order. I think she just wants the Knights of
Rent to regroup and find their footing to be, to
be the terroristic, nihilistic group that they could be that
they could that they could feel it in their hearts
if they had hearts. So anyway, that's out this week.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
Check it out.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
Let us know what you think, Send us a message,
comment on the Facebook page, leave a review for us,
preferably five stars on whatever platform you get your podcasts.
It would all be appreciated.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
All Right, thanks Matt for that review of the Legacy
of Vader. Number eight. I'm here to talk about the
first issue of the new miniseries Hans Solo Hunt for
the Okay, we get that nice banner across the top
saying celebrating ten years of The Force Awakens, and a
really really really cool cover.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
I really like this.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
This this main cover on this one, this book. This
is Part one. It's simply called Part one. The book
was written by Rodney Barnes. Art is by Ramon Rosanas.
Color artist is Guru E Effects. The letter is Virtual
Calligraphy's Joe Karamanya. The cover artists are Ramon Rosannas and
Guru E Effects. We have some variant covers. We have

(16:31):
Carl's Story, Carl Sprouse, Chris Brouse, Carl's Story, and Neiraj Menon. Sorry, guys,
I'll get that right, Chris Brouse, Carl Story and Neiraj
Menon are doing a revenge of the SITH twentieth anniversary cover.
We also have variant covers from Gan Panosian, E J.
Sue and Pete Woods. The designer of the book is
Carlos Loud. Logo designer is Adam Delray. Assistant editor is

(16:54):
Mikey J. Basso. Editor is Mark Piniczia. Editor in chief
is Ceb Sebalski. As always for Lucasfilm, we have Senior
editor Robert Simpson, Associate editor Grace Urs, creative director Michael Siglane,
Art director try Alders and for the Lucasolms Story Group
Pablo Hodago, Matt Martin and Amlish Kukhani and the creative
arts manager your friend and mine, Phil Showstack. This issue

(17:17):
is a little extended. It's twenty eight pages instead of
the usual like twenty one, two, twenty three, so we
got a few extra pages. I'm not sure if the
rest of the issues will be semi extended or if
it was just this first issue. And this is all
about Han coming to Grips with middle age old age.
I'm assuming this kind of leads us into the force

(17:39):
awakens based on the way everything is drawn.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
You guys know me.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
I like to get them in as spoiler free as possible.
But we start out it's I guess it's a little
bit of a flashback, and we get a voice over
from Han saying, when attempting me impossible, I get this feeling.
Doing what folks say can't be done makes me feel alive.
Tried finding it in other ways places nothing is as sweet,

(18:03):
and we get a flashback to Han, you know, try
flying out of a scrape in the falcon being chased
by some really interesting looking, uh interesting looking ships. They
look a little like tie fighters, but they've got their
wings are smaller or the the eyeball is bigger one
of the two. And it goes on to say a
life of that adventure excitement has added up to one

(18:24):
big disappointment, and we can cut to Mallistair years later,
and what happens here is Han has bought a racers
has a pilot that he's I guess sponsoring. He's bought
a racer for this pilot because he's been told all
the guy needs is better equipment, and he's Han is
there with with Lando and he says Abu Kar you

(18:47):
call yourself a pilot. You got the best racer credits
can buy, and you're driving like a nerve herder. And
Orlando tries to get him the calm down, says, you're
gonna bust a pressure valve if you don't calm down,
and so Han, in I guess true fashion, jumps over
the wall, runs down the stands and pushes the driver
out of the way, gets in the racer, and of

(19:09):
course comes in first. And he does look really cool
in these sunglasses, I will say, but he kind of
reminds me more of Clin Eastwood than Harrison Ford the
way they're writing here, I'll be honest, I'm not sure
I like the way they're riding Han in this section,
but that's neither here nor there. I will withhold judgment
until we get to the end of the book. But

(19:30):
here he seems more like, honestly, more like Hank Hill
than Han soul of the way he's reacting. Because of
course he gets disqualified because he wasn't a registered entrant.
He says, I'll take my trophy now, and they tell
him he's been disqualified, and of course he says, one
fair and square, you're just mad. I made these so
called pilots look like amateurs. And so he's very much
you know, man screaming at clouds or get off my

(19:50):
lawn territory here. And I don't know that I like that.
I don't know that. I don't want that from my
hon you know, very protective of the character. And Lando
tells him, you're an owner, you can't behave like that.
And he says, well, they needed to see how it's done.
So Lando says, my team's up. Maybe this one teach
you so personally. And of course Lando's racer starts losing,

(20:12):
and he can't understand why Lando looks so calm. Alando says, well,
there's always another race, and Han tells him he used
to be the most competitive guy in the universe next
to me. Of course, Alando says, then life moved on,
and I never knew Han to be particularly competitive. I
guess maybe when he was younger, but when we met
him in a New Hope, he didn't seem really competitive

(20:35):
except about his ship.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
You know.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
I don't know, maybe I'm just misread the character. I
don't know, maybe there's some EU stuff I'm not aware of,
but this does not feel exactly like Han yet, but
I have a feeling by the end of the story
it will. But Hans says, those days in the Falcon,
ripping and running across the galaxy put him behind me.
I can't believe I let her slip out of my hands.

(20:59):
And Alando says, when's love time you two spoke, and
Hank goes spoke with who let us as I forget it.
We've earned peace, my friend. It's time to relax and
drink the good ale. And I'm assuming Landa was talking
about Leah here when he says, so, when's the last
time you spoke? You two spoke, and uh, Han, And

(21:19):
this is the next thing that Then Hans says, that
doesn't sound like Han. He says, I get it. You're
just mad because I said the Kessel run record in
the Falcon instead of you and let us to see
you next week, buddy. So this is Han reliving old glories.
This is the guy who never got over you know,
scoring the winning touchdown in the state football game in
high school, or or that time his band opened for

(21:41):
Nirvana or something. I don't know. It just seems very much,
very I keep comparing about other characters, but it reminds
me of Witterson from days and confused. I just this
does not feel like Han right now. And maybe this
is a Han we haven't seen, so maybe this is
where he was and why things went wrong. Maybe we're
learning this. I just it's not not what I wanted.

(22:03):
But again, I'm gonna withhold judgment. The writing is great,
the story is great. The art is phenomenal. I haven't
mentioned the art here, but the art and the colors
are phenomenal. But he says to himself, you know, drink
the good al sounds like quitting. Says there truth to face, Hans,
old boy, I wasn't meant to be a big wig.
I'm stuck on the I'm no good, stuck on the ground.

(22:23):
And then he looks at a picture of Hen and Ben,
his son, and he says, no good at a lot
of things, and that one's a little bit of a
gut punch. I like that one, though, But he says,
I'm not sure I am anymore. Wasn't always that way
when I was up there. I was Han Solo, a scoundrel.
And he says to himself out loud, I want my
life back, and he has a droid. Apparently droid's name

(22:45):
is C four d O. He says, whatever does that mean?
Master solo? So he's got a protocol droid. Another thing
I don't know that Han would have. He hates C
three PO with a passion. Why would he have a
protocol droid. Maybe he just got one that he's programmed
to do things the way he likes it. So he said.
Hans says, I'm dropping the civilians going back up there,

(23:07):
and the droid says, how you don't have a ship.
So okay, it just dawned on me. The droids can
be a name, can be shortened to SEE four. So
I wonder if he's going to blow up at some point.
That would be hilarious. I'm calling it right now. He says,
I got a ship. I just need to find her.
And this is where we get the rest of the issue,
and probably the rest of the title, the book, all

(23:30):
of the issues several worlds later. And I really like
the way they did this montage. We've got four vertical
panels taking up the page, and they're all lit differently.
You've got one with an orange shoe, a green hue
kind of a grayish brown hue, and a blue hue
very similar to what Soderbergh did with traffic color coding
each sequence, and the droid says, I'm not feeling very safe,

(23:52):
Master Solo, and he Hans says, yeah, isn't it great?
That's Han. He says, you just lie back, let me
do the talking. He says, in order, I'll take great
pleasure in obeying. So they go into this this bar
and he meets up with a man named Barbon, and
he has to pay him to get information, and apparently
he finds it. Ducaine has the ship because he stole it,

(24:14):
and he tells him it's on Oskatoon. Says, they hold
on to falcon on Oskatoon till he pays, So it's
been stolen from him, or at least confiscated from him.
So Han of courses, not if I get to her first,
and he goes to Odd. Next we go to Oskatoon
and he's there with C four and they figure out

(24:34):
where it is. And C four finds out exactly where
they hold the ships of his size, and he's able
to speak basic to a. Oh, one of the little
arm droids like at Jabas Palace. I can't think of
what they're called. I really like those things though, And
he says, who knew you were such a sweet talker?
When when C four is able to get him in,
they get inside and she's not there, and then they

(24:58):
hear an alarm or something. Hansas, I guess your friend
back there was a little too nice, and they start
getting glassed by a bunch of droids, so they have
to get out of there, and uh, the sea forces
what's next? And he says, I'm calling Hans says, I'm
calling in reinforcements, and he does that as he's watching. Uh,
some people played to Jarrek and so we know where
he's going. He's going to Catchik and on Cashik. We

(25:19):
cut there and we get a nice uh story with
a nice litle snippet with Chewbacca and his son fighting
against a big, a big spider and they get it
caught in a in a trap. Hans shows up and
of course they insist that he stays for dinner, and
he calls him Lumpy, but his name is actually Waru.

(25:40):
He says, right right, right, Waru, I meant Waroo. After
he calls him Lumpy. It's a nice little little uh
moment there, and it's a wish shock spider that they've
killed and uh. Hans says, of course, your dad saved
the day. That's what he does. And so they're telling
him all this and then Chewbacca. I love it because
Chebacca is wearing an apron because he cooked. Oh no,
I'm sorry, it's moll. It's wearing the apron. But they

(26:05):
all he sends him away so they can talk to Han,
and Hans says, I am so glad you asked you.
I'm getting the falk him back, but I need your help,
and he lowers his head. He says, don't you miss
our adventures the money and he says something. Han says, sorry,
big guy, we don't have time. I have room for three.
So he wants to take his son with him, and
so he tells Waru that, you know, he can't go,

(26:27):
and so they they're going to leave and they're taking
off in Chewy's ship. Says, you sure that piece of
junk can make it off the ground, and of course
Chew he does not like that, and he says, I'm kidding.
I'm getting surprised you left it here. I'd be real
worried someone might take it, which again kind of sounds
like han't kill. But that's that's that's Han and Chewy.
That's their banter. And he says, just like old times.

(26:48):
So back on Oskatoon, we have some people talking and
one says I've never seen a priceis low. And somebody says,
consider this your lucky day. The third person says, if
you buy today, that is So they make a deal
and they they leave in their ship and leave this
guy standing there. And then a guy walks in who
only has uh no, he has two arms. He's got
a gun in one hand. Really weird looking guy looks
a little like oh Christian Bale's character from thora Love

(27:14):
and Thunder, the black and white looking guy. And he
tells the guy. He says, you better have a good
reason for being in my warehouse. And this guy says,
your house. I just bought this place and everything in it.
He says, that's odd. I don't remember putting it up
for sale. He says, I just paid a man. Have
my credit says you cappen to catch that man's name.
He says Duncan or Ducane. He says, ah, the man
I hired to watch the place for me. And the
guy says, that was your mistake. I paid for it.

(27:36):
So it's mine. I don't think you understand how ownership works,
or somebody can't sell something that's not theirs, but whatever,
he says, my mistake. He says, you paid some guy
and barely remembered his name, so I'm pretty sure we
know what's going to happen there. But we cut to
the ship, and he says, and the larger guy, looks
a little bit like a bug says, quite a profit
we'll make off this one. And the other character says,
a handsome one, indeed, And then the buggy looking guy says,

(27:57):
time to settle up, Ducane. So we know this is
Duke care and he is a week way I believe
it looks like. And so Ducaine says, I've had a
slight change of heart. And the other guy says, we'll
cheat me and I'll go to the authorities rather than
spend time, Rather than spend time on a I'd rather
spend time on a penal outpost, and have you ripped
me off? And du Kaine says, I see that. In
that case, consider our partnership terminated, and just shoots him

(28:20):
out the airlock. Somehow. He says, such a shame. These
partnerships never seem to work out, so we know who
we're dealing with here. This is Ducane. That's where we
get our to be continued and the next issue. The
cover looks great. It's Chewy and Han in a firefight again,
and I will say I love the way the characters
are drawn here. Han and Lando both look older but

(28:41):
not ancient. This looks like it could be, you know,
a while, a little while before the Force awakens, not
a whole lot before, but a little bit. Again, I
don't really like the first part of the book, the
way Hans written it. Just it didn't ring true to
me somehow, And again I'm gonna withhold judgment because these
folks know what they're doing. They haven't disappointed us yet,

(29:03):
and so we'll see what happens. Maybe a little up
being my favorite Han solo title ever, but again everything
I did enjoy everything about it, except that first section.
Just the way Han was written again didn't ring true
to me, But everything else was wonderful. So Ballo means,
check this one out. Be back in a couple of
seconds after an ad break to talk about these solicits

(29:23):
for next week. All right, So for next week, looks
like we only have two more books again, but this
time we have one offering from dark Horse and one
from Marvel. From dark Horse, we have Tales from the
night Land, number one of three, which sounds like it
might be kind of fun and maybe a little spooky.

(29:45):
Could this be their Halloween offering this year? Again, I
like to go into spoiler free as possible, but I'm
looking forward to that one. And for Marvel, we have
Jedi Nights number seven, so Matt and I will be
back to discuss those. Hopefully we'll be able to discuss
them together next week. Just due to the holiday week
this week, it was a little tough to connect, so
hope you guys understand, and we will be back next
week to discuss those books and anything that happens between

(30:07):
now and then until then. For Star Wars splash page,
I'm Jeff. That was Matt, and of course me with
you always the Star Wars splash page. The song is

Stuff You Should Know
Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
