Esattamente 75 anni fa, l’11 maggio 1946 il Teatro alla Scala di Milano riapriva i battenti dopo i rovinosi bombardamenti del 1943.
I restauri a onor del vero erano già iniziati prima della fine della guerra, ma a dare l’accelerazione per il ritorno della grande musica in città fu la volontà di Antonio Greppi, sindaco della Milano liberata, che con il suo “pane e musica” volle che insieme alle case distrutte venissero riedificati anche i luoghi simbolo dell’orgoglio meneghino.
Quest’anno la scala riapre, dopo la pandemia, simbolicamente proprio nello stesso giorno e la mattina dell’11 maggio, nel foyer del teatro verrà scoperta una lapide in memoria del Sindaco Greppi.

“Rinata ed eterna, la Scala non aveva mai simboleggiato con una più vissuta verità il destino di Milano.”
