Speaker 11 (04:23):
Check one, check one, check one, check one, check one,
check one. Yeah, and we're back. Yeah, after the lawn hiatus,
the lawn hiatus till a couple of years off. Yeah, Yo,
(04:49):
it's your boy, DJ Chris g the King of the North,
back in the house again. It's another new episode three,
a brand new episode of the Straight from the Underground
two point oh podcast, the joint that started at all. Yeah,
we're back after almost a two year had hiatus, and
(05:13):
of course I'm kind of glad to be back. You know,
I had a couple of things going down, you know,
as you know, the reason why I stopped the podcast
because you know, we're back, and that's because I had
to stop doing the podcast. I didn't have time. My
(05:33):
mother had gotten sick and she needed someone to come
over and take care of her. And of course, me
being the person that basically just works, and you know,
I had my radio show on the side, and I
was basically doing this the podcast. I had to give
up the podcast so I could take care of her.
(05:55):
You know, it really was a no brainer. Excuse me,
it was a new brainer, no brainer. I had to
step away from my podcast duties. I also gave up
my straight rounderground daily show that I was doing on
my SFT five, a five radio network that I was doing.
(06:19):
I was doing a daily show, and I had to
give that up. But I didn't want to give up
my my w x IR show, so I shouldn't. You know,
I kept doing that, but I had to do up
the podcast. There was no way around that. I mean,
I just didn't have time to do it on Sundays anymore,
(06:41):
you know. Plus Danny k went to keep doing stuff
for Whaloe and my man ceo and Travis. Now, since
it was football season, you know, back then, or it
was the start of football season, whatever it was going, man,
everybody had something to do. So we all kind of
(07:02):
drifted the party and we decided to do podcast anymore.
But I knew it was gonna come back in some
show sooner or later. Bus we're still adjusting to all
the new podcasts rules that's going down, and it's bucked up,
because the whole everything that I'm doing right now started
(07:23):
with this podcast.
Speaker 12 (07:25):
You know.
Speaker 11 (07:25):
We've been over here like over four hundred something episodes today,
four hundred and twelve, yeah, four hundred and twelve, And
we've been doing this for like years, and pretty much
everything I'm doing now started from the podcast, and it
felt kind of weird to give it up, and I
(07:45):
really wanted to try to bring it back in some
capacity now. My mother, of course, has passed on, and
of course that this has freed up some of my
time now right now, still in a in you know,
still putting her matters and order her affears or order,
taking care of her house and all that, but it's
(08:09):
allowed me time to keep doing the podcast. Excuse me,
throw to dry as hell. Haven't had time to really
recover a lot of stuff I've been doing this morning,
preparing the podcast and trying to figure out a great
(08:29):
balance on how to satisfy the so called you. You know,
it kind of takes me off because I came into
podcasting back in two thousand and eleven, and this is
just when only a few people were actually doing it,
and some people in San Francisco, So you would think
we'd be further along more than this. But we had,
(08:51):
you know how my cast rules had changed. You had
a bunch of stars coming in. You had a bunch
of rap stars coming in also, and started doing their
own version hip hop podcasts, which of course meant that
these guys now setting what everybody thinks of podcasts should
sound like. We got people that talk for three hours.
(09:14):
You've got people that drink and talk for three hours.
Then you got people that just have it set up
where them and a bunch of other people talk about
what the current events. So these things are now hip
hop podcast now. When I first started, we were just
doing my radio show over again, were playing music, and
(09:34):
me and my crew was breaking down subjects and you know,
in between songs we would jump back, we would jump
back in talk about whatever, you know, talk about hip
hop knowledge, talk about sports, movies, whatever you know. That
was Ev and Sean Touch, Andy, Andy Rose and my
(09:56):
man Brian, Brian Herrett shouting Brian Harris. And you know
that's how we started. And then after a while, you know,
it was just me for a second, and basically I
was still doing current events and still playing music, and
then I started playing a lot more music. Now sitting
(10:16):
around the line and everybody like, well, it's what a
podcast that sound like? Everybody should be talking for two
to three hours now, trying to find a good balance
where I could play music and still be able to
talk about current events or stuff that matters to you
the listening. I'm wanna try to do a different type
of hip hop podcast, but we're not doing gonna be
(10:38):
talking about gossip and stuff. We're gonna talk about stuff
to try to get everybody right as far as like
hip hop. You know, now, what you guys can expect
from this podcast is basically, we're gonna hear some dope music,
then hear some dope interviews, and basically we're gonna kind
we're gonna cond trate on trying to be a little
bit more up lifting.
Speaker 10 (11:01):
You know.
Speaker 11 (11:02):
Yeah, we'll still go over a couple of current events,
but we're gonna try to figure out ways to avoid it.
We're gonna try to help the independent artists come up.
We're gonna try to help the independent producers come up.
Anybody that's involved in hip hop right now is trying
to get you know, DJ, You're gonna we're gonna try
to uplift everybody We're gonna try to get everybody on
the same page.
Speaker 5 (11:24):
You know.
Speaker 11 (11:24):
I've always been about that, trying to help the next
man rather than just help myself. Hey yeah, let me
get into some music.
Speaker 13 (11:31):
Man.
Speaker 11 (11:32):
The start off from my man Thunny Brown, DJ King Flow,

one man DJ Green Lance with the beats in the background. Yeah,
I'm coming straight from Rochester, New York, Upstate New York, YO.
I'm returning back to podcasting, as you guys know. Had
to take that break, you know, And basically that's one
(30:06):
of the reasons why I had to stop too, because
I was still trying to understand the rules and how
they do the advertising and all that. We gotta take
certain breaks and all this, so I have to come
back talking and all that. Hit you guys with music
from Ill Clinton featuring Daniel's Sun with One Way Ticket.
Before that Thunny Brown with the Population Control a my
de free styt he did Dil's Nagassi when Conway the
(30:29):

featuring Rampage and k Benger with Paradise City for that
hairline Brothers at Northside Drew and I see who else
is on there and I'm a supervisor. Well, King Arthur
had stepped back. Also another joint from Thunny Brown which
started off with music with him and my man DJ

Speaker 27 (31:17):
Check them out.
Speaker 11 (31:19):
Let's see what else. Uh, let's see. We also had
Napoleon the Legend, the Ringing Sledgehammers featuring d styles and
produced by j R. Swift. The fact that Great Minds
is out right now. She having Napoleon, he opened up
the show. I forgot the city, he opened up the show.
Shout out to him, you know, and I congratulate another
dope album which is out right now. And that's when
(31:42):
we were also gonna try to bring across to you
some dope music. In fact, I got a couple of
joints from Napoleon the Legend off that album that I
want to run for you guys as well, well, so
you guys can so you guys can check it out.
Let's see, you know, and also you know we're gonna
(32:02):
dive into the MC's that pretty much I feel form
basis of.
Speaker 8 (32:07):
The underground now.
Speaker 11 (32:10):
I know there's some people out there probably be like yo, Chris,
Yo are you gonna spotlight some local dudes, and I've
always spotlighted local dudes. They just gotta come with a
proper package, and they gotta come correct. You know, a
lot of times, a lot of people when they do
local shows, they let people get on and basically they're
(32:33):
not really correct. Dudes have like one song, not even
a few, not even more than three songs. They have
like maybe one song, and all of a sudden, people
are getting interviews. It's like, come on, you know, I've
always had that standard. I've been doing this for a
while since the nineties, and I've always tried to hold
(32:54):
people to a certain standard as far as like hip hop. Now,
if I'm gonna play hip hop, I'm across the globe.
I have to maintain a certain standard with dope hip hop,
even if it's from my own area. I can't just
let anybody one like funk Master reflect sat back in
the day. Not everybody can come up here anyway. I
(33:17):
will like like pretty much the line. I think it
was fifth Penny, and there was a couple other people
that I interviewed right before we left, right before we stopped,
And we're gonna bring all that flavor back too, and
this is also a haven for all the people that
I can't interview on my FM show. Now, I love
doing myform show that that is my heart right now,
(33:39):
but I also love doing the podcast because I can
spotlight the people that I can't play on my FM show.
You know, a lot of people, believe it or not,
it's twenty twenty five. There's a lot of people that
really don't, for lack of a better word, don't fuck
with FM radio. So this show was gonna be kind
(34:00):
for them. You know, this is where we're able to
you know, chitchat. We can do interviews, we could be unleashed,
we don't got to hold nothing back, and we can
pretty much play a lot of shit that we want to.
As you notice with the podcast, I can play pretty
much anything I want and I don't have to worry
about f SEC regulations like I do w now WXAI
(34:22):
is my favorite show. I love doing my FM radio
show due to the fact that not only does it
put a limit on me, but it gives me three
hours to do what I want and play a lot
of stuff that other fmdjs can't play. So there's the
uniqueness in that. Like I said, I love doing the
show and we can do interviews and all that, but
(34:44):
it limits us a little bit because we can't really
really get into it. So this is where I'll be
able to like really get the people that you know,
for some reason don't try to do FM radio edits.
You know, they just sitting out records like you know,
I talk to people like Chub to God, Itto, my
(35:07):
man the Bad Seed, Terrvino.
Speaker 32 (35:11):
I mean this.
Speaker 11 (35:11):
I mean, yeah, I tried to spotlight them on Effort Radio.
But this is where people just get loose or whatever.
You you'll get the idea, you know, and I don't
got no problem with that. I just go on ahead
and just be like, screw it.
Speaker 32 (35:24):
I just.
Speaker 11 (35:27):
You know, we just let it all lose here. Plus,
you know, we'll have guests. I plan on having a
cross room of guests that will be on the show.
Shout out to DJ Supremacy from Roxley Radio. I plan
on having him join me on a couple of discussions
as well. I won't my man Kato to have him
(35:47):
come through as well, my man c l and Travis,
you know, favorites from the original show as well, you know,
and of course Danny k. You know, we'll have everybody
come back and try up and have it up, you know,
and we're still trying to figure out if we're gonna
do the visual thing we you know, people always say
I should do the visual thing, you guys, you know,
(36:09):
but there's times where like like today, I'm unshaving today,
I really didn't feel like doing a video across Instagram
and doing it that way. I didn't feel like doing it.
It was just like, nah, I'm just gonna stay un shaving,
and I'm just gonna go ahead and introduce the reintroduce
the podcast, let everybody know what I'm up to, and
(36:30):
keep it moving that way. Okay, anyway, yo, we gotta
go ahead and keep it moving. Let's see, welcome back
to the podcast. Thanks for tapping in. Shout out the speaker,
and of course shout out to all the podcast platforms
that are now listening to us again. And we're gonna
(36:52):
get into it. In fact, I'm gonna let my man
Precise Politics take over for a quick sec but to
play a new joy for him in drug beats, and
we'll get into a set. Let's go, yo, yo, what's good?
Speaker 36 (37:11):
This is Precise Politics aka No Face to God General
for Street Flavor entertainment and you're listening to my man.

stuff I plan I plan on releasing m P three's
of my old original ninety shows that's going to be
exclusive to the mixed Cloud channel. You guys can cop
that stuff there and become a subscriber, and pretty much
you don't have to worry about ads and we're reminding
or nothing like that or limits on your listening to
(01:13:10):
the show. You can listen to the show and pretty
much get access to hundreds of episodes.
Speaker 7 (01:13:17):
You know.
Speaker 11 (01:13:18):
In fact, the Daily Show, the Daily Show is up
on there, and pretty much all my FM shows from
the last eight years is up on mixcloud dot com.
Make sure you go copy it too as well. We're
about to start the SFTU five, a five radio app
that should be ready with the next month. You know,
(01:13:40):
I've been talking about it for a while, but I
didn't have a chance to do it until my mother passed.
So now I'm really kind of trying on to it.
And we're revamping my website, which is straight from the underground,
to put it in a website. A little while ago,
they did an update and pretty much not all our
links to everything offered. We had everything linked on the website.
(01:14:01):
It did an update and it knocked out all the
links to the AFRO Radio show, links to speaker dot com,
the links to mixed Cloud, everything got destroyed. So we
just said skip it. We're just gonna rebuild it from
the ground up. Unfortunately, it's taking some time, you know.
Plus we want to try to give it a little
(01:14:21):
bit more interactive feel with the website, you know, because
we got Mercher on there. We want to try to
provide a website, you know, we want to try to
put videos up on there.
Speaker 32 (01:14:31):
You know.
Speaker 11 (01:14:32):
Plus we have a bunch of other DJs that participate
on SFTU five five Radio. We're want to try to
spotlight some of their shows as well, you know, So
we we we we try, and you know, it's only
me and Carrie and my Man show my you know,
three man operation, and we're trying to pull it together
like we got a whole team of us trying to
(01:14:52):
work on it.
Speaker 32 (01:14:55):
You know.
Speaker 11 (01:14:56):
Basically, it's also just me really, and you know, it's
go little trying sometimes trying to put all this stuff
together by yourself. So I'm basically you know, working harder.
But I saw my man Antoine, my man Antoine from
YouTube he has he has a couple of channels on YouTube,
(01:15:19):
and he always said that if you want something, you
have to go out there and get it. You gotta
work harder than everybody else. You know, it can't be
about just the money, but you gotta work harder than
anyone else. So you gotta go out there and get it.
You want a certain status, if you want to be
the man, you gotta work like the man. And I
(01:15:40):
believe that, I believe that I'm behind that one hundred
percent to try to be the best at what you
can whenever, and you just gotta keep going. You gotta,
you gotta keep up. And that's also my that's also
my notice to all the independent artists out there. You
(01:16:00):
want it, you're gonna have to go out there and
get it. No one's gonna hand a due to you.
You know, remember, record labels are pretty much dead. You know,
there's only like three major record labels right now that's
running everything. And if you are independent, you're gonna have
to set up things like with your own website. You
have to go through places like dancamp dot com. You
(01:16:23):
have to go through you know, all kinds of spots
you try to get your material out there. You gotta
try just as hard as the people out there that's
out here calling themselves starves. Because right now it's gonna
be a shifting hip hop that's going on, and some
people have noticed it. Some people are still in the
dark about it. Where things are about to change. You know,
(01:16:47):
the air of the stupid rapper is pretty much over.
Or the rapper that talks about just talks about drugs,
the rapper that talks about how much money they got,
what cars they driven, how many bitches they fucked. The
air of the stripper rapper is almost dead, you know,
the people that's doing the weird TikTok dance and what that.
(01:17:08):
That era is almost done with. People want to have
more acceptance in their lives. And it's incredible because I've
been waiting for like over thirty something years, almost twenty
five plus years. Let's to flip because when I first
came into the game, we had a lot more variety.
And some people sit back and say, well, Chris, what
are you talking about. There was whacking seas back, doing
(01:17:29):
too and whatever. But no, we had a lot more variety.
We had people, you know, we had all kinds of
You had trycoll questions. You had your NWA's ya, your
public enemies YA, your ex clans. You had your kid
and plays. You had your rock hymns. You had eminem,
you had nas, you had Daylight Soul, you had your Firesides,
(01:17:52):
you had the Souls and mischief. You had all kinds
of different you know, the Skyfaces, the ghetto boys, you
had Luke and them. You had different types. If you
wanted to listen to a different type of hip hop,
you had access to it all and none of none
of it was none of us was shunned, you know.
(01:18:13):
But then there's an era where things got a little
bit more weirder and stupider, and somebody that bled to
two thousands, and people just started coming into the game
that really don't love the game. It was declaring themselves
great performers and even saying they wasn't rappers, they were performers.
(01:18:36):
You know, some people that was rapping even sat there
at like they they they're ashamed to be called rappers.
You know, I'm a rock star, I'm a performer.
Speaker 35 (01:18:48):
You know.
Speaker 11 (01:18:50):
People were treating DJs like they were like like they
were request request lines. No dare anybody come up to
a DJ and tell them, Yo, I got something on
my phone that will rock just as hard as what
you're playing on a dance word nobody's dancing. I gotta
I gotta ox cork? Can you plug this in? How
(01:19:13):
how stupid is that?
Speaker 35 (01:19:15):
You know?
Speaker 11 (01:19:15):
We're gonna talk about all kinds of weird, weird, weird
stuff that's happened in the industry and how we could
solve them. And yeah, I'm all about trying to find
solutions to this and how to how to submit stuff.
I know THEICE people out there that listening to this, like, well, Chris,
how do I submit to your station? Well, I have
an email that's s F t U five eight five
(01:19:43):
at gmail dot com. Please please have an MP three
ready along with artwork who's featured on it, and of
course your name and the producer's name, and if you can,
please include a clean edit so I could play it
on my FM show at my from radio station, you know.
(01:20:04):
Otherwise than that, you can submit it here and you know,
if it's dope, I'm playing it, you know, but it
can't be just some bullshit it could. It has to
be some dope material. I don't play nothing but dope. Shit,
I not trying to play any bull crap. It's gotta
be it's got to be funky, it's got to be
dope for me to play it. You don't gotta be
boom baptist. It just gotta be dope. That's the thing
(01:20:27):
that people kind of confuse with me. There, you're all
about boom bap. Yeah, I'm down with the boom bap.
I'm from East Coast, but I like hip hop from
all as. If you listen to the show, I like
hip hop from all areas, and it's gotta be dope. Anyways,
speaking of dope, let me go ahead and stop talking
and move on. I think I fulfilled my podcast. Notice here,
(01:20:51):
let's get in some music. Man music from Excel. This
is called gold, and let's get into it. Let's let's
get into some new music. Let's go.
Speaker 3 (01:21:04):
Uh yeah, murder Mags, what's up?
Speaker 5 (01:21:10):
Straw?
Speaker 36 (01:21:15):
One glimpse in my eyes, you can see the scars
that came from this ship. I survived with shit and deprived,
no vision, just submission to die close to death. But
there was in the position to thrive. Thro the stress
as a youth stole my innocent vibe. I watched souls
leaves where I resign. Sitting there, fried weed smoking the
air high got me questioning all the lessons in life,
(01:21:36):
and all listen. The message is with from heving phone
the Cuban linc Go necklaces. I found monatomics liquefied and
ingested it. Yeah, so shines in my DNA and Caesar
with the cannister, free of mind and lead the way.
Don't speak much. I don't say more than what I
need to say because God's on the hunt. I don't
want no easy prey in niggas. The sheep blinded by

my focused lock. Now I'm on it right twice a day,
like a broken clock, trying to see what's in store.
But shit, it's over stocked life. Stop me for my
