King of the North is back inthe house. Yeah, it's going on,

(03:50):
I was gonna do it every otherweek. They were catching up and this
seems like Yo. Seems that peoplewas out here feeling it. Yeah.
I liked the last episode, thelast episode of Indigo Phoenix. When I
hired, I see a lot ofpeople out there waiting for it. So
I'm gonna try to increase doing moreof these podcasts episode because I wasn't certain

(04:11):
that people are still hanging out therewaiting for me they do another episode.
But I see that people want wantthe podcast back. See the response all
across the boards, all all theplatforms, and that's crazy. I really
didn't think people are gonna be outthere. I expected maybe ten to old

(04:33):
people maybe checking out. We hadover a hundred downloads on Speaker alone,
and then I'm not even counting theiTunes, Google, Google Podcasts, I
heard podcasts and all that. Yo, a lot of people, you know,
not to have the other international platformsare run. So shout out to

(04:53):
ads the people that made this possible. Yeah, that's crazy. Thank you.
Hit me up a DJ Chris Gfive Day five on Twitter. Also
I g DJ Chris G five Dayfive on Instagram and yo, let's in
an interview. Season is back infull of facts. Yo, that's yo.

(05:15):
I love you guys, man ain'tso I. It shows that people
out there. This is the thingthat spawned everything else, and I'm glad
to see is gonna continue that peoplestill continue to support the podcast. Now
we're gonna do it a little differently. This time, we're gonna focus.
Basically, we're basically gonna and there'sa reason behind that. I get into

(05:41):
it a little bit later. We'regonna do this a little differently than we
usually do it. Usually I playa bunch of music and then we jump
right into the interview. But thistime we're gonna jump right into the interview
and basically structure an episode around theperson that we're interviewing. You know,
we're gonna play track speech D forthe person we're an interview, and this
time we're interviewing my man's eyes.In fact, you just heard a joint

(06:04):
from him. This is joined theintroduced me to him, more or less.
We're called Boom back Blocks. Aman. DJ Showtime put me onto
this track a couple of months agoand I started playing it and when I
was saving Zaz responded and he's beendown with the show him since. In
fact, i've been actually he's beenin the background for over a year or

(06:24):
more. I mean, I've beenplaying joints from him and really just wasn't
really catching everything, I admit,But now I'm a big fan. I'm
a big fan, and the dudeis on the level, and yeah,
you're gonna hear the interview. Man, it's gonna be flazed. I don't
you know, it's it's gonna bedope. So it's crazy. Man.

(06:47):
We got a lot of music toplay from him, and we're gonna,
we're gonna, we're gonna go ahead, getting to the getting to the music.
Take a pause, come back andyou guys, this brand new episode,
you know what. Shout out toy'all. You know, And like
I said, he'll keep the episodesa little bit short and it'll keep us

(07:08):
in that podcast format. This isthe format I despise, you know because
before when I first started the podcast, before a podcast became a thing,
we're just playing a lot more musicand then we do the interview here and
there. But now people want Iguess now the podcast format is now we
have to talk more. So we'regoing to do more talking about this episode.

(07:30):
So we're gonna get into it becausemost of the podcast formats and scenario.
Oh we're not a sign platform anyway, yo, not for that.
Let's get into some music, kid. Now, let's get to another joint

(16:10):
He's virtually not new to the game. He's been around for a while
now and he sent me in thefact we're gonna discuss it. We're gonna
talk about this new mixtape. Hehas a DJ glib Styles which basically covers
his twenty year career and even thoughyou may have started hearing in my SFTU

(16:30):
five Fight Radio is in the lastyear. He's got a couple of joints.
We're gonna be talking about that too. This dude has been is defining
hip hop. He's been around forplay some time. In fact, he
happens to do the same thing I'mdoing right now on ST five Fight Radio.
He has his own station caught forthe DJ's Radio and it's already picking

(16:52):
up steam already already. Let's justsay this, one of my boys,
DJ Jazzy what from um at fiveRadio, from the Ease Up Show,
It's already joined up with him,so he gets played on that show too
as well. You know, Jazzy'salways entrepreneur, He's always trying to join

(17:14):
up with somebody, so he's onthat station too as well. I might
even join. Shit, what thewell, my brother let me present to
you guys, the CEO artists offour Dads for the DJ's Radio, Zize
and the House. What's up,guys, You're going on? But love

(17:36):
it? How you feeling? Man? I appreciate you for real, man,
it's going on. They Hey,yeah, I appreciate you as well.
You said you wanted to kick iton my platform. So we're gonna
kick it on my platform. Sowhat's up. Let me first say,
you know, I appreciate everything youdo. I've been watching you for some
years now and I love what he'sdoing, you know, And actually,
you know, you one of thepeople that inspired man because of the because

(17:57):
of what you do and what otherdays do. I decided to do this
platform, you know, for theDJ's Radio, And like I told you
in the conversation we had on thephone, Man, you were part of
that as well, my brothers, any DJ there, you guys are part
of the for the DJ's Radio nation. Man real, So I appreciate everything
you do for us. Man,all right, but before we get into

(18:18):
all, you know, the wholefor the DJ's Radio, let's talk more
about you yourself as an artist andhow you started as an artist. How
are you, what's going on withthis journey? How you transition from being
just an independent artist from back inthe day to the independent artist you are
now in difference between that. Solet's let's start with how you started.

(18:40):
How did you get into this wholething? So pretty much, man,
it all started with, you know, buying records, from this place called
Bates on the Lansing Street in Manhattan, Lanzi Street. You know, I
used to go to Bates and Iused to get you know, whenever my
parents should give me a couple ofdollars, you know, we'll go get
that vine. And then um,I started asking for a radio. Man.

(19:03):
So I've really been recording since sinceback in the day with the radio,
just with the radio, and Istarted recording, you know, on
like four tracks and onnot and thenI became better and better and now,
you know, doing it on anotherlevel now where I'm actually mixing my own
stuff now too so and mastering myown stuff. So you know, it's
been been a long time, man, a long time coming. So I

(19:25):
just kept with it, man,and dibbled and dabbled, and then life
got in the way. And thenyou know, in the back of the
head, I was still like, you know, I'm gonna still do it.
So I always kept doing it.And then now it's like I put
the producer thing down too, soI'm just focusing on the ramin. And
I'm glad I did, man,because now there's a lot of people don't
want to work with me. Now, you know what I'm saying I really

(19:45):
appreciate that. You know, actuallylooking at the mix tape you had with
DJ Glid Styles, it pretty muchcoverage your your journey in the hip hop
and it's pretty dim impressive. Imean, you sit the TI me the
other day and I was super impressedwith this. This is this was like
a great collage of talent. Um. Hold on, let me. I'm

(20:10):
trying to see if I can putit up right now. But Yo,
you have had some great features onhere, man. I mean you worked
with everybody I know, Negma,Jamal Honesty. Let's see. I think
you got to track it out herewith Listen, try to see if I
can get this up here. Napoleonthe legend, uh shoot truck North from

(20:37):
the right, Yeah, yeah,Trump north Man. Of course. You
know you got track with Fat fiveBoys, um and the vat be do
Voter. Yeah. And it's likemad people out here. It's just you

(20:59):
know, g Casino if mad peoplearen't here that you know, we played
on the show that we've been playingon the show. And it's like,
Wow, your influence is big andspreading. And I heard your you know,
shout out to Nagman that for TVwho put me onto you a couple
months way before, like a yearago, when she sent me the Combined
Thoughts AB album. Oh yeah yo, and that was his flavor. I

(21:22):
was like, Yo, how canwe? Then then you know, shot
shout my man DJ Showtime. Hewas like, Yo, there's this dude
here in New York. You shouldreally hear man. I don't think you've
heard of him, and he sentme, um, he sent me in
the boom back blot to join. He's like, Yo, you gotta be
playing this on the show because youhave to start from that. I was

(21:45):
like, already, I'm familiar withthe artists already, and I just didn't
have that track. And basically thatwas that was that was our like introduction
more or less. You know, you started noticing I think you started following
me around that point. Yeah.Yeah, you may have known of me,
but you didn't stop bothering me untilI started really hitting that record off.
So it was like, wow, okay, that's man. But I've

(22:07):
been following the podcast, you know, like I've seen the podcast on certain
platforms. Because when you're doing yourwhen you're doing your own podcasts, they
actually like they referred to other ones. So I've always seen as you know,
from from you know, straight straightfrom the underground as TF you when
I'm like, what is that was? So I listened here from there,

(22:30):
but I was like in tune withit. But then when you started coming
up as Chris, I was like, oh, man, that's that's the
guy from that podcast. So andthen the radio station, so I was
like, Wow, this guy's reallydoing this thing. Man, you've been
doing You've been doing it for years. Though I started the podcast some time
way back in twenty ten, justbefore anybody else came anybody else really came

(22:52):
out. I think me, umsoon As and a couple other people were
the only people that was actually doinghip hop podcast. But I wasn't known
because I'm from Rochester, New York. I don't know if I even played
souff. I didn't have the plugwith New York or I didn't have to
plug with LA. I'm not afamous actor. I haven't been in any

(23:14):
movies, I don't have no TVshow, nothing like that. So I
was just coming up as a DJ, playing records and interviewing people on my
show, and people started noticing it, you know, So to me,
it's always been me doing my oldradio show, my old colleague radio show.
Doing the podcast. That's what basicallywhat it was, me doing internet

(23:36):
radio, but in a podcast forhim, one before anybody else did it.
So thanks, So I've for noticing, brother. I appreciate that.
Yeah, man, that's that's you. Gotta show love for that, man,
because a lot of people don't know. Man, it's a lot of
time that goes into these shows.Man, you know, you see the
time that's put into these shows. There were respective souls a little bit,

(23:56):
you know, a little bit moreyou know what I'm saying. Oh yeah,
I think maybe they would. Maybethey you know, people they digested
differently in artist. Going back toyou all right now, and I said,
you've been doing your thing for awhile. How hard has it been
transition from now? I see youcame up during people were still pressing stuff
up from vinyl And see, asfar as I know, have you ever

(24:19):
been signed to any labels or anythinglike that? I was close to kind
of with a few labels, butI never you know, it's I always
say, go with your heart. So when they don't seem right, you
know what I mean, you youyou get out of there, you know,
because you know, I didn't wantto be seen as like just a
Latino rapper, you know what Imean. I want to be known as
an artist, because artist does everythingright. So you know, they were

(24:44):
always trying to put me, putme in the box, Latino rapper,
this, Latino rappers. You know, I get it. But at the
end of the day, we allartists at the end of the day.
Don't say when you put your nameout there and and you go on platforms
and don't say, uh, Latinno rappers. You know they're gonna say,
you know, Afro American, whoeverit is. You know what I'm
saying. They don't say that. They just said your name, you know

(25:07):
what I mean. Always want toalways represented that. And I felt like
let the music speak for itself, you know what I mean. And that's
about it. Man, Okay, okay, But let's see, like I
said, you came up during thetime where everybody there's a line that,
um, I wanted to dude someswords of Miserschifs said. He said,
if you're so dupe, why aren'tyou signed yet? Way back in the
day, right, So it seemedlike back in the day that during the

(25:32):
nineties, if you wasn't signed.A lot of people didn't look at you
like, you know, really accomplished. But coming up during the nineties,
the Assood difference records out there fromMCS that that wasn't signed to a major
label. Independent, So you werepressing vinyl back then, you know,
like like you mentioned, like yougotta collaborate with DUP as far as than

(25:52):
know, it's never signed to thelabeled. He always pressed his stuff up
himself and sent it. Yeah. You know, there's a couple of Latina
rappers, um Latina rappers that wasdoing the same thing. All of them
couldn't be Big pun or even umMy Manchino itself. You know, he
he was signed for a second andthen he went independent. And back then

(26:15):
independent wasn't as famous as it isnow. People people were looked at being
independent is lesser than those that weresigned. Now, you came during all
that before the internet before h whatwhat what's the word I'm looking for?
Um? The platform looking for it? It's um social media is and all

(26:38):
that. So the social media beforeFacebook and all a SoundCloud and mixed cloud
and all that came up. Therewas there was a platform my space,
my space, Yeah, my spacewas up, you know what I mean?
You know, every everything was onfoot. Man. Back then,

(27:00):
you had to drop off. Firstof all, you had to convince the
owner of the record stores to takeyour right, and then you had to
leave it there for consignment. Right, so you give them buy five six
copies, and then you hope togod that they sells man, and they
just keep reaing up and they callyou listen and I one left re up,
you know what I mean. Now. CD Baby at the time.

(27:21):
CD Baby at the time, theywere very very helpful because they were a
hell of a platform for independent artists. Like you would sell You would send
them ten copies and then they wouldsell it for you and then don't don't
They'll put the money in your account. And so back then it was cool.
But we had to do a lotof We had to do a lot,
man. We had to actually inorder for it to be observed and

(27:42):
acknowledge as a as a as arelease, you would have to send it
on a regular cassette tape to thelit Barrier Congress first, okay, and
then B and mine will send youa packet where you had to write it
your lyrics and write all the informationof the song, now send it back

(28:03):
to BM and B and my won'tget back to you the three months later,
the good old days before you couldget it out right, And I'm
talking about this is back in ninetyninety two, nineteen ninety four, right
right, How you do B,B and MID. You get on the
computer and it's two minutes. Youput the song in for two minutes and

(28:25):
you get to go yeah, andyou don't even have to register at a
live very in congress anymore, youknow what I mean. I have this
book where it was like how tobreak even into the record business and basically
detailed everything he was just kicking justa minute ago. I mean, I'm
pretty sure you went through where youhave to sing your CDs out to get
to get mastered and remixed and havethe CD cover gun and wait for it

(28:51):
to come in the mail and comeback and then put them in the stood
Like you said, go through thestory because signment and all that, and
now nowadays, how you converted tofrom what we was doing back then to
what they're doing now As far asright um, putting stuff out digitally,
like you said, you just sitat the computer type something in two minutes,

(29:14):
later and stuff is out there. So how do you how do you?
How did you ease into that transition? Man? And it took a
long time, man, because I'mI'm used to the you know, the
analog. I'm used to the hustleand bustle. So you know, when
that happened, I was like, wow, it's just even how to put
stuff out? This is crazy. But I still don't let that effect the

(29:37):
quality of the music that I maketo put out because it's it's easy.
Don't mean I'm gonna put something outin two days, you know what I
mean. I tell you I stillgo through the whole plat, the whole
foundation and the you know, theway I do my things right, So
you know, now it's it's totallydifferent. But you got to really strategize
because if you don't have a certainplatform or certain you know, people that

(30:02):
have been rocking with you since backthen. Because I got a big fan
base in Japan, so I droppedstuff. You know, I get to
see funds, you know what I'msaying, Like I'm grateful for that,
you know what I mean. Soyou know when I put stuff out,
you know America, you know, the United States, they might not take
it. You know what I'm saying. You got some people they might buy
it. But honestly, man,if it wasn't for my Japanese people,

(30:22):
man, I don't, I wouldn'tbe doing this no more, to be
honest with you, you know whatI mean. So I sell a lot
of I said, a lot ofmusic, especially digital now over there,
you know, directly from me,like they'll DM me and buy it for
me directly. They know that they'renot supporting you if they don't do that,
you know what I mean. Butthat's a whole different another level.
But from what it is now fromwhat it was back then, man,

(30:47):
I'm grateful. I love what peopleare doing right now. I love the
younger folks. You know, theyare doing it now. They really represent
They push the envelope forward, andI just feel like they opened a lot
of doors for people like to stillbe around and still work, you know
what I mean. You know, there's a lot of guys that I can
name that I don't personally that thatactually live off for this, you know

(31:07):
what I mean. And to saythat you live off for the music now
the way things are, I'll blessyou, man, you know what I
mean. But there's a lot ofpeople are here that I can name that
I could say that should be livingoff of their music, but they don't,
you know what I mean. Butyou know, that's a whole other
conversation. But a lot of Ilove it, man, I love the
way it's been coming. I lovehow it is now. I'm a big

(31:30):
fan of a lot of people.I speak to these guys into the DMS
and I start relationships with them, and you know, and I let them
know, man, if they everneed anything, you know what I mean,
I could guide you to the rightplaces. You know what I'm saying,
Like, if you need me todo something for you or put you
direct you somewhere, I can helpyou with that because I know a lot
of people. Man, I justdon't be out there, you know,
yapping about it or anything like that, you know, because I feel like

(31:52):
you let your music speak for itself, right, So surprised everybody let your
music speak. But as far asknowing people, man, I know a
lot of people people. Man.I just I'm real humble with everything,
and I'm very grateful where I'm atwhat I have, what I don't have,
And um, you know that's howI live in my life. But
just looking at the zi Zis mixtapeand you do lip style shows that you

(32:13):
do have a big effect on thisindustry as far as like even the underground
and even maybe some above ground rightthere, Tenda, you have to write
connects and you know you, Imean pretty much listening to your mixtape,
I gotta say you're all around artists. Yeah, I appreciate it's like you

(32:34):
went through different if you listen tothe mixtape once again, if so,
the listeners out there, if y'allfind if you can find it, I
believe you know. I'm gonna haveto Zas break it down for you guys
where you can find it. Butwhen you find the mixtape, it pretty
much covers his decades one career andshows that he's not just the artists way
that can just do hip hop oneway. He does it a couple other

(32:55):
ways too, and he fits inall them categories. And I appreciate it
was just it was just like tome, I was like, yo,
people people ordered to me can enjoythis. I'm pretty old myself, but
people ordered to me can enjoy thismixtape. You can play this for even
a pop crowd and they'll like it. You know, they'll they'll get into

(33:16):
an underground crowd will appreciate it.And like you said, you got people
from across seas that will enjoy thehello of this mixtape. Um, I
mean you cover a lot of ground. It's pretty dope. I mean,
salute to you. I mean Imight always thinking was changed listen to this
mixtape. I was like I wasFriday. I'm sitting there like yo yo

(33:39):
yo. He had it, listenedto it like three or four times,
like he actually did this thing andthis It's crazy. I appreciate that.
Man. Nah, it came aboutlike that. That came about like I
always wanted to do. That wasa dream of mine, man, because
you know I I sold a lotof mixtapes, you know, for DJ
do Tony Putch. You know,I used to be on the train on

(34:00):
the L train. You know,I would work a regular job and then
get off the job and then hustlethe mixtapes on the way home. So
I'll be selling them someone. I'llbe selling them on the on the L
train, you know, I meanon the way back to Brooklyn, and
I'll be right out of my pocket, you know what i mean, right
out of my bag, you know, selling the mixtapes and whatnot. So
you know, I got a lotof love when it comes to you know,

(34:21):
mixtapes and whatnot because I feel like, you know, the DJs do
a lot. So I was thatpeople that that has has done that way
of thinking, Like when you thinkabout it, you're selling mixtapes out of
your bag. It takes you backto the days where like even Master p
selling records out of his trunk.Yes, you know, a lot of
independent had it sold records out oftheir trump. Me and myself, I've

(34:43):
hustle mix tapes to the stores, going from store to store. I'm carrying
the back real backpack my own mixtapesrunning around and you sending to appreciate the
fans a little bit more, Yeah, and you would you understand, like
everything you do and you get afan, you appreciate that a whole lot
more than the casual present. Justthrow something now it gets like maybe ten

(35:07):
people go out and buy it,and they'll be like, you know,
whereas you every person that's gonna buyyour stuff or or at least connects with
you, you're gonna appreciate that awhole lot more than the normal hip hop
person. Yeah, man, it'sbeautiful man, because you know, music
brings people together, man, youknow, so you know, like right

(35:29):
now, you know I'm working youknow with DJ Glid Styles too, man,
and it's like, you know,we got a solid relationship and we
know what we both want. AndI said, man, I said Glids,
man, you know what man,I wanted through a mixtape, man,
And he's like, word, justsend me the tracks just like that.
So you know, it took mea while to send them to tracks.
Man. It literally took me monthsto send them to tracks because every

(35:51):
time I went through my stuff,I gotta all send them many you know
what I mean. So you seeall that and you're like, man,
I think I record it all thatmusic like it's crazy. So I had
to really really pick which ones Ithought, but I saw I sent him
everything and I let him pick whichones he won because I feel like it's
DJ mixtape for anybody that's ever I'vedone a mixtape with. It's like,

(36:19):
I'll be like, yo, justsend me your stuff and let me mix
it. I'll pick the songs andthrow them together. If it's right,
I'll do that me fat my man. Green Lantern did the same thing with
the first Griselda tape. He calledme. It was like for Chris,
you know more about the Grisselta thanI do. Send me a mixtape,
send me like sixty something joints.I sent it to him and he picked

(36:40):
whatever he wanted and that came toYourselda mixtape that We're Green ended up becoming
their DJ. So about that?About that? Yeah, man, So
you know that French. Let's seehim in the chat right now, Big
and Big French got the album man, it's called back then. I think

(37:02):
he wants to join the chat. You know, is it all right if
we had him join the chat?Man? We gotta we gotta man for
sure. But let's see if wecan put him on right here and you
go, all right, man,I didn't want to step on your time.
And you know, let me seemy brother man put him on.
Man. Man, he's a partof this, He's a part of all

(37:22):
this. What what what up?Salute salute my brother man, a big
French man. You gotta let thesecats know, man, when we got
coming now, oh man, backthen, Oh man, they're not ready.
They see the last drink y'all didwith them. What y'all y'all combined.
In fact, the drink with umnext favorite favorite join the mine also

(37:46):
and yo, I like the flavorin the back and forth between both of
YouTube as well. So salute toyou real quick. Yeah, Gus,
and she got a she got awhole album out called let Us from the
Cash You yes, yeah, everybodyalready that that that album was special.

(38:07):
Yeah, Big French right An,Well, here's the thing, right,
me and Big French, you know, we were good friends. That's like
my brother, you know what Imean. We don't talk every day,
but he know I got mad lovefor him, and I tell him all
the time, and I feel like, you know, to me, Big
French is one of the most amazingpeople first of all. Second of all,

(38:30):
he's an amazing producer man. Andwhen I tell you that, he
brings the best out of you, man, it comes effortlessly on his tracks.
Bro, he sets you up upto where as you come and it's
like boom, like the joms thatI'm not out. He knows I think
my time, I'm not putting thatdown that I don't feel is right.
And I told him that. Isaid, Look, when we first started,
I said, French, send methe tracks that nobody wanted back in

(38:52):
the nineties, he said, likesixty something traps. He said, well,
so I picked twelve. And I'mnot tell you, man, it
was so hard to pick those twelve, man, But I went with my
heart. I said, Yo,I said, French, I want these
twelve. He said, God,do your thinking, man, you got
work to do. And that's howit was, and it's always been genuine

(39:13):
and people don't notice a lot becausethey don't dig in. But I actually
manage French as what you know, what I'm saying comes to this production,
and I was actually trying to goto whereas we could deal with the hispanic,
you know, with the landside ofreggae tone, because French the hell
of a sound. So that's that'swhere we at with it. And you
know, doing like you know, sound stuff for like the movies and all

(39:37):
that. You know, that's theplan. So you know, he working
on all that. But when heread it, you know we're gonna go
ahead and we'll start doing that too. So you know, I got I
got said, man. You know, I try to do the best I
can for everybody, you know. And at the end of the day,
man, I love my brother rightthere, man, he's been a world
one and you know, and it'sall love man for sure. A French

(39:58):
name and a couple of production creditswell too before. But I'm amazed to
see you working with Zays right theredoing your things. And he just noticed.
I didn't know that you've been aroundsince the nineties. Two. Huh,
yes, sir. I got myfirst placement in nineteen ninety five a
Caress one. I do not knowthat song. The song is called the

(40:20):
Automatic on Chris's uh the solo album. Damn, I should know that.
What damn? I call myself ahip hop and story and actually slapping myself
right now. That's not the onlything too, man, Will Smith,
you know what I mean, BillSmith? You know Alicia Keys French Freschman
around for ye man, around theblock a few times. I've definitely been

(40:44):
around the block a few times.I just thank god I don't look like
what I've been through, you know. It makes the boat brother feel Yeah,
man, I'm grateful and I'm humbleabout it. I'm saying I don't
I'm not one of them producer toalways gotta mentioned about, Oh I did
this, I did that. Youknow what I'm saying, I'm one of

(41:06):
them. Do let's just let themusic speak, you know what I'm saying.
If you do do your homework onme, you'll see everything's there.
Everything is google able and searchable. So we want to see big French dancing
in the video. Now you seeme in the video. But I won't
be dancing, you know what I'msaying unless it's called for. You know
what I'm saying. Yeah, Imean, I mean, at the end
of the day, I'm hip hop. I mean, I'm I'm a textbook

(41:27):
definition of hip hop. You knowwhat I'm saying. We was there when
they cut the lights on hip hop, when Motherfucker's was out there DJ and
in the park getting electrocuted from thelight poles. He was there for all
of that, you know what I'msaying. Before the heat with what be
carrying big crates of records, ampsand snickers, all that shit. Man,
he was there for all of that, you know. So it's a

(41:49):
different kind of love exactly. Youknow. That's great, yo, see
it since you both collaborating. Sowhat do you got coming? What?
What? What do you guys thatcoming? I mean that's when you mentioned
that you and Fritchard having something.I saw you rub your chin a little
bit, was like, it's like, yeah, we got some really heat.
So from you takes you back,he takes you back, you know

(42:15):
what I mean. So that's allI was like, Yeah, we're gonna
call it John back then because hereally does, man, And you know,
it forces you to rob a certainway, but at the same time,
you make it where it's where it'scurrent, you know what I mean,
You make it where it's current. Was still with that bebop you know,
hip hop kind of field at theend of the day, you know
what I mean. And that's that'swhere we uh that that's where we bring

(42:36):
into the table for surely, right, I think I think you just sent
me something also that you fepancy superSuperstars right. That joint was by I
love that joint man, yeah, man, yeah, man. That was
the first one I recorded. Andum, I love that track, man

(42:58):
because it reminds me of like Earthearly nineties, but it has a feel
that a be out now, youknow what I mean, And that's that's
a good job on that french Man. Thank you, brother, appreciate I
appreciate it, man, you know, you know I don't. I don't
work with everybody man, you know, but I'm you know, fortunately,

(43:19):
you know, Big French was oneof my items when it comes to that.
So when I reached out, youknow, he's like, you know,
we both decided, Yo, it'sit's time for us eyes and Big
French old And I was like,Yo, let's do you know what I
mean? So yeah, I'm lookingforward to the half for sure. Man
convert now or fall forever. Streakedfrom the underground, brain drop drop drop

(43:50):
talk smoking, no cooking, thehot dot dot dot. You's got to
go somewhere with that. This showyou know that gets no player. Let's
rod streaks from the underground, Yo, what up? What up? You
know? I was just thinking, yeah, and reflecting me too. The

(44:12):
mind goes a mi la minute nomatter how you spend it, kind of
proof to win it. Hard timescaused hard grinds, praying for that sunshine
and my prime moms did what shecan. Pops kind of didn't give a
damn scramming for the loop, sippingon that absolute maddestel ready to shoot.
I wanted the rims and Tim's checkingon the guide out while them shit spending
looking hot up in the spot frontand like I had a lot figured the

(44:36):
plot. Older brother always getting knocked. That was the worst prearly no order
hers wishing for the burst. Youwant to mess around, I'm trying to
grab the purse. I didn't wantto do that, but I was trying
to pursue wrap and keep a relI never knew, would never understand about
the deal. I'm trying to feelwhat I cannot. Full up on the
mic. The shit is kind ofcrazy. You don't we getting nor how

Don't never let your dreams go,no doubt introspectively. People tried to break

(45:22):

my superpowers grew, or rather Idid radar wrong point lived through to when
the bed learned a lot about us, learn more about self, take sickness
and decease and convert it to health. Move stealth like the Ninja regiment type
militia. When I hit till youdon't even see it coming, don't miss

You'll discover it just like I did. Let's go now, speaking of collaborations,

(49:27):
I'm my home girl just joined thechat a second ago. Indigo Phoenix,
I see you are the new RuggedTriad album too as well. What's
up with that? Oh man, that's another person that I genuinely got love
for. And um, you know, beyond the music, I tell everybody,
man, to hell with the music. We got to have a relationship,

(49:50):
do you know what I'm saying,Because we four out over no damn
music. Yeah. So I'm madethat very clear. When I work with
people, I tell them you fanthat, you know what I mean,
because I have a real tight circleand I'm very I'm very close, you
know what I'm saying when it comesto me. So when I shared my
life with you, when I dealwith you, that means I got genuine
love for you, you know whatI mean. So, you know,

(50:14):
with her, it was like wealways swore. You know, she came
on the podcast, and when Isaw that she showed her ducks and telling
me everything and how she loved hiphop so much. I took a liking
to her, and then we startedtalking. She didn't even know that I
got wrong, you know what I'msaying. Well, when I told her,
yo, you know, let's dosomething me. You know what I'm

(50:35):
saying. Doctors At the time,me and Doc, you know, we
we were doing our thing whatever, and then um, it came about where
it came to the opportunity where wedid that, and then we put doing
it. When I sent it back, she's like, wow, I don't
know he spit like that so younever asked, so, you know,
so we close after that and nowit's like boom. So now we got

(50:59):
to you know, Rugged regime Joanand it's it's amazing. It's an amazing
thing. They're amazing people and Igotta love for every single one. I'm
real tight. Win the bet that'smy brother right there, you know,
Um, you know that that's whereevery all this came about, you know,
with the Knockers and everything like that. That's another album that's completely done.
You know, the Knockers that's meand in the Vet Beat, you

(51:21):
know Iron and the Vet Beat andmyself and that album's pretty much done.
So you know, we got thatgoing and we're gonna drop a single.
I was talking on the Vet thismorning. It's gonna be around July and
then in the fall. You know, we'll drop that, you know what
I mean, and get people everything, and you know you're sitting these barbarians
right That was dope. Oh yeah, that's one of my favorites. Many

(51:43):
sure, yeah, I can't waitto play that. You know, I
was holding it back so I wouldn'tplayed on my Friday night or Saturday night
show. As I'm gonna say thatfor the podcast like like like you wanted
me too, so you know whenyou when you get the edits for little
all your stuff stuff, make sureI'm snatched him up from my friend and

(52:04):
say no for sure, for sure, Yeah, I'm gonna definitely we're gonna
have that is for everything. Youknow, French is gonna mix everything down
for our projects. So I'm gonnasend him one. I told him,
I ain't gonna send you nothing untilthe whole thing's done. So he's only
heard one song, he's only heardthat. No one has heard no songs
unless you're feature in, you knowwhat I mean. So you know,

(52:25):
I'm gonna make sure that he getseverything out like your French there you go,
my brother, you know, andyou know because he he brings that
frequency. Man. See see bigFrench is on another I can't even mix
like that. I ain't even gohold you so French, you know,
French has a whole other way ofmixing, and I respect that and I
love the way he make it,Sam, So he could do that and

(52:47):
I can focus on doing other things. You know what I mean when it
comes to that project. You know, well, I would say French basically
he says blurt a couple of things, So yeah, he should. He's
been in the production reducers cheer forquite some time. I mean, well,
I'm not just a producer. I'malso a Yeah, I've been engineering.
I graduated from the Institute of AudioResearch at ninety two, so I've

(53:12):
been an engineering just as long asI've been a producer. I see.
For those out there that younger inour audience, I'm gonna let youall know.
Back then the engineering we didn't haveno remote um stuff to go around.
You had to actually do all thisstuff your stuf. You had to
do it by when I when Igraduated from school, the world. The
world was still analog, yes,the world. The world didn't turn digital.

(53:37):
The world didn't turn digital till ninetyfive. He's still anyways, that
stuff on tape, Yeah, exactly, like that scrubbing and cutting ship and
the Great Raizor blades and ship.I remember listen, it's crazy and like
I said, this came a longway man, because I recall recording in

(54:00):
Brooklyn and having to take the youknow wheels, to take the wheels all
the way the Rockefeller Center. Youknow what I'm saying, you should drop
it off at the studio and takea cab. Like there was none of
this. I'll email you right now, send you the track. But there
wasn't none of that, girl,if anybody could remember. And these two

(54:21):
were probably about for me right now, because I was working at days Line
Studios. There's a studios that endedup producing Timberland, Um Um, Missy
Joe to See and all of themback then, because they used to come
up here to Roche, New YorkDays Line Studio to record what way before
they became super famous now that AndI became an engineer there. I was

(54:44):
on the engineering production there, andI remember those days where you had to
take I mean, studio time itselfcosts a grip son. You couldn't go
in the studio and be fucking aroundfor hours or hours once you had a
grip full of money, and ifyou were doing a rap track, especially
crazy back then. That separated themfrom the boys right then and there,

(55:08):
Yeah, I was paying seventy Yeah, what's that? French and that and
that was the low edge. Youfeel me? And that was the seventy
five hours if you if you heylosing French a little bit just started at

(55:45):
about fifty hour. Yeah, youfeel me. And this was a time
where the record companies was paying formost of the studio Yeah, hell yeah,
and you couldn't waste their time ormoney like that. Yeah you're cutting
out a little. Yeah, butthose were the days. Man. What

(56:08):
French was describing was basically okay, like what French was saying, basically,
you had to pay a grip forstudio and you couldn't mess around either.
I mean some people say now youcan't mess around a certain studios, but
a lot of people have home students. There's no concept thing its home studios.

(56:29):
I'm here paying a thousand bucks formy four track to bring it home
and still couldn't get the right result. I had to go back and get
a six track and that costs liketwo or three checks right there, you
know ship, Yeah, you knowI get my own real studio. Definitely,
Nope. I used to go toDoctor Sound and come now three doctor

(56:53):
the sound back then, you know, I'm sure, I WoT Yamaha sampler
and the Yamaha sample only gave meeleven point five seconds of sample time.
I remember I had a sampler gonlydo five seconds. How about that back
he's got it now they can samplea whole hour. We're from music now,

(57:16):
you know what I mean? Severalhours? Yeah? How about that?
About the Sure? Yes, man, my brother DJ cash Bro what's
up? Man? What's going on? Um? And the DJ Showtime as

(57:36):
well. He's outs from the chatDJ Showtime. Man, my god,
man, he's always been real matchat the beginning too. Man. I
got mad love for him as well. Sure, So what's the name of
this album? Gonna be between youand Big French? Which what are you
guys calling it again? It's calledback Then, back Then? Okay,
that's coming out? When that? When does that come out? I'm thinking

(58:02):
I'm thinking late for late fall, man, late fall. I wanted to
be real. I wanted to bereal cold when it comes out, I
want the hoodie with the hoodie sincethe reason behind that. Yes, so
we got I work to do,man, I'm gonna come out. I'm

(58:22):
gonna go back home and stuff, and you know, being French, we
gotta get together, do a coupleof videos and whatnot and do it the
right way and then take it fromthere. Many sure, all right,
so um yo um, there's adebate. And since you you're MC and
a producer, big French as aproducer, there's a debate always going on

(58:42):
whine. I'm pretty sure you guyshave heard this where some MC is still
that it's all about them and notthe producer. I say, the producer
and MC is fifty fifty because noone's everybody as fill the album of somebody
rhyming and that album beats. Youknow, hold on, hold on,

(59:04):
hold on, hold on, holdon. Correct here's the thing. You've
never heard a rapper go platinum withan acappella but instrumental to instrumental albums.
Ro I got three instrumental albums outright now that I'm getting royalties from forever

(59:24):
from feel what I'm saying, Becausehere's the thing. Rappers are gonna always
need beats, period. And thenyou that that population of people that some
people people out there who like instrumentals, They like records with no words.
They don't want to hear no words, just want to record. They just

(59:45):
want to hit the beats to thatto that population. But a rapper without
beats right right, right, rightnow, let me take back what I
was. Just what I was gonnasave me a big friendship. Glad you
corrected me right there, because yes, there is instrumental albums out there,
and I gotta remember I'm a jazzfan too, and they didn't have to

(01:00:07):
have nobody singing or rhyming on it. Enjoy that album. So yeah,
I'll give you a perfect example.I'll give you a Paycocks rocking cock.
Perfect example that that that ship withplatinum, no work, heards, no
lyrics, just music, platinum, you know, but they see that that

(01:00:30):
that really asked me think that,oh the producers just a little ship,
a cog in the machine and funand I and I have to argue with
people like that, like how doyou expect to get over? And like
you said, no rappers really withplatinum or platinum ever or gold, I
don't think like just throwing their rhymesout there, no happened to Let me

(01:00:52):
ask you this though, are youare you referring to back then or now
I'm talking about right now? Becauseof these catches for themselves, man,
I don't even go hold got homereason you gotta be humble. I see
to these younger cats that that jeffIn like, I think it was Bobby's
murder. I don't know if y'allheard of this cat um Bobby's murder said

(01:01:15):
that, you know, yah producerto be trying to charge too much.
I'm like, does he really knowwhat it takes to be a producer?
But do you know the exquipment yougotta buy in all this? You know,
so asking for Here's the thing aboutpeople who don't want to pay for
production. Okay, go ahead. The thing about paying for production is you're

(01:01:37):
not just paying for the beat. You're paying for all hours I put in
becoming the producer I've become. Andjust like with anything else, it's a
name brand. You're paying for acertain name. You know what I'm saying.
When you go buy a Timberland beatand you pay that hundred fifty thousand,

(01:01:57):
you ain't complaining thing. Hit mhmright, So pay your producer.
You'll get beats with his thing.A lot of rappers don't understand. Rappers
keep their beats in difference. Yougot the A List beats, the BEA
List beats, and the Seed listbeats. If you want to beat for
free, guess what list your beatscoming from? Because the bean beats those

(01:02:22):
is for sale? Out do youdo that? As nah Litsten to you,
you think if I work with you, it's because I consider you even
better than that, you know whatI'm saying. But but it's true what
he's TuS. You know what Imean. It's true what he says.

(01:02:43):
You know, it's it has todo with you know. Now, if
you come to an agreement when you'regonna work together, and you both of
those see the money and even moremoney than with the actual artist is game.
That's that's okay too, because Ifeel like you gotta show That's how
you show your love. You canlove somebody or you want. But if
you're working together, what are yougoing to be given to that person?

(01:03:04):
You know, I'm saying, whatare you gonna be contributing to to what
we're doing? That's another It's anotherthing too that you gotta keep in mind.
So if you decide to work together, it's fifty fifty right down the
middle, or is nothing at all? You know what I'm saying. I
think the reason why some people dosay that now it's because you know the
whole digital divide thing. Do youlike being in the studio with the producer

(01:03:27):
going over to beat with them,or do you prefer you know, like
your email or beat to me andhow rhyme over and send it back to
youg I mean both of you cananswer that. You know, do you
like prefer that or do you preferthe MC right there I studio with you
for I prefer or whatever? Yeah, I prefer to have. If I'm

(01:03:50):
if I'm giving somebody a beat forprojects, you know, in that person's
mind, I want to see howthey vibe. You know what I'm saying,
And I want to if I don'tlike you as a person, I
don't want don't you wrap it overmy ship? Period? Mh. You
know what I'm saying. It's deeperthan just It got to be more than

(01:04:12):
just the money. I mean, everybody gotta s tell all the ship and
make money. But at the endof the day, we all got and
we all are probably victims of this. We we've turned the love of hip
hop into a business. Both. You gotta remember why we why we started
doing this ship we started doing therewas no money in the beginning. We

(01:04:35):
did it because it was love.Yeah, you know what I'm saying.
We capture that love because that's whythe music of today is so stale,
because it's all business. Mhm.Yeah, that's why you see how we
work and and that, and that'show we all work, you know,

(01:04:56):
me and me and GlyP Styt Joe, you know me at home. We
just start working together and if ifif there's no mutual respect or mutual love
for what we're doing for you know, what you're doing, what I'm doing,
if we can't get that together, then we ain't doing nothing at all.
Yeah. I would always tell Casey, I said, Casey, if
it ain't right, we ain't doingit now the case all relationship comes first,

(01:05:21):
Bro, we ain't. I'd rathernot put nothing out, bro than
not have a relationship with the personsthat I'm working with right there by that,
you know, I mean, Istand by that very very trench nose.
Were talking in French. You know, we might not talk for a
couple but then when we talk,we talking. You know, I tell
him how I feel. We talksthe about he feels, and we talk

(01:05:41):
about how the game is and everything, and you know, we agree,
we agree with how everything is rightnow, you know what I mean?
I respect that collaboration right there.I love that right then, that you
guys collaborate our friends first rather thatkeeps everything organic. Yes, yeah,
I feel that right Yeah, meand me and french Man. We don't

(01:06:04):
have to talk every day. Manone talk you know, we'd be like,
yo, yo, you know it'sgood. You mean I saw yesterday.
Let me ask you something, bigBrom, you mind if I smoke
we do on your platform? Likeabout that? He's usually I have a

(01:06:29):
drink in my hand, but it'searly for me, so usually I waited
two o'clock to start drinking. Youknow, I got I got a session
start, and I got a sessionstarting at two o'clocks. I want to
get my mind right beforehand. Youfeel mepecktfully ask you know, everybody don't
don't allow smoking meat on the platform, so I had to ask you what

(01:06:50):
I'm saying now, you can smokeaway, smoke away. It's like I'm
just like drink Champs. You cansmoke champs. Whatever you go, Yo,
he's a show for for smoke Champs. We definitely do world if we

(01:07:10):
just legal in New York, howwould they shut it? Down, well,
not in all parts of New York. Yeah, what part of New
York? Is? It not legalin Rochester? Day in Rochester. So
it's still kind of funny up herea little bit. Yeah, over there
is so kind of funny. YeahI heard, well, yeah, we
were walking the streets with our Nowniggas is outside smoking me. Yeah,

(01:07:35):
for sure. Remember New York City, it's always been at its own place
and its own place compared to therest of the stick. Right, it's
another world. Yeah, I've beendown there. Man's the old New world.
Anyway, Yo, I'm moving on. Okay, Uh, let's talk

(01:07:58):
about for the DJ's radio. Now, how long has that been in action?
And why did you start to whatwhat what came up with the inspiration
for you to start doing that, and how how did you move in that
way putting it into podcast form etsuch? So what happened was I used
to do Let's Chop it Up withZa. That was a podcast that I

(01:08:23):
did before, and I was actuallycatering to the artist. I remember seeing
it, yea, and then Iand then I was like, yeo,
okay, you know that's that's enoughfor the artists, you know what I
mean? And I'm like, Damn, we got to do more for the
DJ's man, you know, becauseI see a lot of stuff man,
that that that you know me personally, I don't like you know what I
mean, But you know that's me. That's that's that's my opinion, you

(01:08:45):
know what I'm saying. And Ifeel like, you know, as artists,
you know a lot of artists, you know, they send the music
to the DJ and then they don'tshow the DJ don't love after that,
it's like the DJ don't The DJdon't exist no more, right, but
only exists when you put when youput a single out right, So you
know you don't you don't repost, you don't repost them in your story.

(01:09:08):
You don't repost them in your post. You don't pick them up. You
don't take one DJ and put themon there and say, yo, I
want to show love to this DJbecause it's DJ here. Every time I
put some and out, he showedme love. Now they don't do none
of that, you know what Imean. So I was like, I
said, Damn, what can Ido to show love up to the DJs?
Because I love DJs, man,I love DJ's more than actual artists.

(01:09:28):
You know what I'm so at theend of the day, I said,
you know what I'm gonna I'm gonnamake something up and it's gonna be
called for the DJ's But I said, hold love for the DJ's radio right
where it's gonna be all about theDJ So I start reaching out to certain
people, you know, certain certainDJs that I love myself before I told

(01:09:49):
him to come on the platform. So now we gott six DJs on a
weekly basis coming on the podcast pastand do when they show Monday through Saturday.
You know, gratulations on that andit's it's all and they're so they're
so appreciative, man, I meanevery time they send a mix like za,

(01:10:11):
we appreciate for everything to do.I'm like, nah, we appreciate
for everything that we do because thisis our sting. You know what I'm
saying. We did this together,This is ours you know. So I
said, I was telling you,Chris, you are part of it too.
You know what I mean, youbought before the DJ's Radio. You
look at that because I like thewhole concept of that due to the fact
that what you said about that wastrue. Because there's a lot of times

(01:10:33):
where you I myself in my wholelong DJ career, I try to build
relationships for all the itists I fuckedwith all right, and I try to
starts where they recognize me, theyknow my name. I do extra stuff
like putting this stuff on Twitter.I do the playlists on Twitter. I
include the artwork I promoted into mystories. I do all kinds of extra

(01:10:56):
ships, you know, whereas otherDJs to just put the playlist stuff and
just rock with that. So me, I tried to show appreciation to the
items for at least sending me thestuff material materials that they do because they
don't have to send it to Imean, some of these guys never even
knew what kind of reach I hadcompared to like Master Flex or what what's

(01:11:21):
his named, Peter Rosenberg or somethinglike that. You know, they didn't
know me from Adams. So it'slike every person I tried to, I
tried to promote myself. I triedto show some kind of appreciation and sometimes
you don't get it back. Imean, this is something one of my
I'm not gonna name them, oneof my DJ's on SFT Fight Radio.

(01:11:43):
His main thing was always mad abouthow what's up doing the podcast right now,
So cousin people walking down the street, this happens, you do,

(01:12:05):
dudes, m broadcasts outside, peopleare gonna interrupt you anyway. Um,
going back, while I was saying, one of my DJs was complaining about
how the fact that how you feltthat the artists were not appreciative to showing
the DJ's mad love because it's like, you should be reposting. It's like

(01:12:27):
what you what you just said size, you should be reposting this. You
should say that, yo, thisperson explaining you appreciate you know, I'm
showing appreciation to them. And Irealized that sometimes you get too big or
you know where I give you anexample and this ain't the point them out
or not like this, like what'ssite gunning Conway. Right when they first

(01:12:48):
came out, I was, youknow, because they're from my area.
I was showing them mad love becausethey had a different type of sound.
They they was doing that thing rightnow in the beginning. Yes, they
was reposting. They were sending thisstuff out because the bigger they got,
you know, you know that, you know, all of a sudden,

(01:13:09):
the mentions just started get getting alittle shorter, you know, and all
that, and I think that's whatmy man was. My man was mad
about, like yo, he helpedpromote these artists and get them where they
are, and they're not showing uslove back, and they're not even sending
this free ship no more. Andit's like, well, maybe that might
be in your case, but tome, we didn't. I'm not in
it to get mad love from madpeople. I'm just in it because I

(01:13:33):
love hip hop. I want toget out there there. I want artists,
you know. That's why I focuson the underground stuff. I want
to focus on the artists that don'tget love twenty fourth seven. But that's
dope. You know, people likelike you, Mike You and Big French.
You know, people don't. Theymay have heard your names, but
they're not familiar with it because it'snot played on a Hot ninety seven.

(01:13:55):
It's not on the one or fivethe beat, it's not on the BL's
or nothing like that. They don'thear that music all the time. So
I focused basically on the artists thatI know that a great dope, just
as good as the artists that youhear all the time. But I want
them to be known too as well. And I've always done it since the
nineties because there's a time nobody knewwho Hu Tang was. There's a time

(01:14:17):
when nobody knew who Jay z orNos was. But the Ryans know that
nobody knew a lot of these artiststhat I helped promote, nobody knew who
they were at the time. Rememberwhen the Foojis came out. The Foojie
just did their let past show lastnight, they had a reunion, did
their last last night. I rememberwhen nobody was messing with them, but

(01:14:38):
I was playing. You know Eminem, Even Eminem was a nobody when he
came out. Man, Yeah, well everybody it was a nobody on their
first way out. But here isthe thing a lot of people forgot.
The DJ's job was to is tobreak records that nobody know about popular you

(01:15:00):
know what I'm saying. But here'sthe thing. A lot but DJ's I
don't want to break records. Theyjust play the ship that's already out.
That's a big disconnect just for thenot fame, but more popularity you become

(01:15:21):
because you played all the ship.Yeah, but your job as a DJ
is to bring the new and thehot shit and a lot of DJs just
ain't do right one number one whatever, the number one got a thousand fucking

(01:15:41):
views. Number one play that basicallyis um one. Dude. I used
to follow. I used to thefact that modeled myself behind him when I
first started with fun Master Flex becausehe used to break records and records.
But now he said that his ownplatform. He said, look, I'm

(01:16:02):
only playing was popular in the clubs, and I became a popular you know,
not really breaking records too much anymore. And it's like whatever's popular in
the club, that's what he's playingon his show. So it's like I
can't mess with them. It's like, yo, I think that is I
listen. I remember when I usedto be in the village and he used

(01:16:24):
to come on hindh N eighty sevenat seven pm, and he used to
stop by the McDonald's with records underhis under his arm. You know what,
He came a long way man.But see, stuff like that is
wrong, bro, you know whatI mean, because you was up there
with more Party Moore and all thatand Pete Rock. You know what I'm

(01:16:45):
saying. When they had them shows, the Future Flavors and all that.
Now, all of a sudden nowyou know, now all of a sudden,
you're too big now, you know, pat platforms like this. That's
why we got platforms like for theDJ's radio. We got platforms like from
the Underground. You know, yougot platforms like you know all these that
are rocked there. You know, you know DJ John, Doe Meeks and

(01:17:08):
all those guys. This is whatyou know. Those those are the ones
that support facts. Why do yousay this to me when you know I
will kill you for it? Straightfrom the underground, what's up world?
This is a level and this isJason Z rocking on the radio with my

(01:17:29):
brother Chris ge straight from the Underground, Rochester, Stand up to stand Up,

(01:17:55):
John Side Records, John Little Light, feel slight, bi head of
bound, get up to the chapper, a snaw snap up like the crack
the down, sturting kind of tweput you down the mouths uptown bucking wow,
makes out a little shit the matteryou old folks singing shit that doesn't

(01:18:18):
really matter. The chat does downmy twn my head tworking looking at the
devil working tworking them out again whileshe's slurping. Only fans needs to work
in stripping out, making moves whereshe speak about flout rut for they drop
a bad crown, backs against thewall, drugs in the turk, thus

(01:18:38):
to the jaw, a ye yeah. Flight shot so right ch right come
like that first light the slight startacross the rest to right, the white

(01:19:02):

(01:19:25):

(01:19:48):
people got the round. Such atragic scene wasn't seen loaded in window
practice Green and the trump was tobe up because he was the flood fire
Jay and loves man man was slowand this girl corded too for that family.
Twelve lights shot so bright shot shutso bright black black chop chop chop

(01:20:24):
chop chop so brighten like lights shotso brighten. Yeah, shout the juice
guy um five or four. Hejust reminded me that I did free see
French's name in a couple of things. And in fact he did a couple
of tracks from a Man Fleet Lordright Fleet Lord, and I was I

(01:20:45):
was his main engineer for like whenhe did the twelve or twelve when he
he was on that he released twelvealbums, one a month. Yeah,
I engineered and mixed all again.M hmm, Lord, work for you
back the Yeah mob Man Fleet LordMan Fleet was one of the first ones

(01:21:11):
that came out. Yo, shoutout to me Fox too, Man for
real man usually well, as faras I know, I was told that
me Fox are but he retired outthe game. What hain't done? He
just came up with something a littlewhile ago. Damn, I ain't know

(01:21:31):
he retired. I a single.I got a single out with meat Bucks
in the production that everybody don't know. It's called Everything and that too.
So this is this is like herto do the Great Baron kind of shit.
I don't know if it's true.I haven't spoken to the dude,
so I don't know if he's trulyretired, but I you know, that's
the word her word in the street. This is that he retired all right,

(01:21:58):
well doing just doing something else besidesthat. Going back to the fort
the DJs Radio, Now, wellyou selected those DJ's ass I mean,
like you said you was, Iguess you were a big fan of them
and you recruited them and got downwith that. So how highed was it
to get it on podcast format two? It was? It was actually smooth

(01:22:23):
man because right now we got likea deal with Spotify, you know what
I mean. So the forty DJ'sRadio is sponsored by Spotify itself, So
so now you know it was smoothman. I mean I reached out to
everybody that I got love for,and you know, and we actually have
private chats, you know what Imean, where where me and and and
you know T M D and DJJazzy what we speak every day, you

(01:22:46):
know what I mean? When itcomes to DJ Mega, you know,
DJ Mega was the first one.DJ Mega is the first you know one
that that that we that that cameon the podcast. You know what I'm
saying. So I got a lotof love for him as well, because
he was the one that started itwith me, you know what I mean.
So and then it came from there, and then we got we got

(01:23:06):
a guy, you know, Imean DJ scan and you know DJ Hoffa
just came on. You know whatI'm saying. He's on, He's on
every Wednesday now. And this isguy. Man, you know, DJ
is Scando. Man, that guygot a fan base out of this world.
Man. Wow, a lot ofpeople don't know this guy, but
he look him up, look himup. Got a fan base. Man,

(01:23:32):
This guy got a numbers like artists. You know what I'm saying,
Like guys that this guy's numbers iscrazy on the podcast man, and um,
you know DJ glib styles. LikeI said, Man, everybody brings
something to the table and they havea totally different stops. You see what
I'm saying because I thought that tome, I come from the old school

(01:23:53):
era. So when a DJ DJ, I figured a DJ is supposed to
scratch, cut, supposed to traintransition a certain way. Not really,
man, everybody has their own style. DJ Jazzy won he could make songs
from the eighties and blend them withsongs from now and you can't even tell

(01:24:14):
that it's different songs unless you knowthe songs. Personally. He's a genius.
He's a genius. Glyph styles hasa whole love, you know.
DJ Mega got his own style.DJ Scan brings that hard call and it's
like Boom and Scando is on awhole nother level. TMD brings that college

(01:24:38):
radio feel to the to the platform. You know what I'm saying, you
from you, from that, fromthat ever yourself, so you would acknowledge
that and you will appreciate that whenit comes. So we have a lot
to offer and for the DJ's radioyou're feeling that's great. I'm glad to
see you doing and progressive on thatright fact, like I said, seen
it being popped. It keeps poppingup on my Spotify. It's like yo,

(01:25:00):
I'm like, I didn't. Ididn't know you was behind that until
you told me. Yeah. Yeah, because it's all about dumb man,
It's all. It was all. It's all about dumb man, you know.
And the love is genuine. Weall have our We we have our
you know, we speak about personalstuff, we speak about music, you
know. You know, me andScam we talk you know me and Mega

(01:25:21):
Mega he tells me his thing, you know what I mean. It's like
everybody you know, and and andyou know, and some of the DJs
would be like, look, youknow when they be on other platforms,
they be like, look, doit like Zis doesn't, you know,
like do it like Size doesn't?Because it's all about dumb, you know
what I'm saying. It's not allabout me. I put myself in the
front because I want people to say, Yo, look Zas rocks with these

(01:25:42):
guys. This is the platform thathe got for them, you know what
I mean. So that's what That'swhat it is. Man. That's pretty
much the same format that I dofor s FT Fight Fight Radio. Basically.
I didn't want to DJs to changetheir format or nothing for me.
Basically, just play play what youwant, I mean what basically, keep
it underground hip hop. I'm gonnasay that right now, you know so

(01:26:05):
because you know, I figere likeTop forty has its place and that's already
on from radio. Such, they'regonna be internet basis, and I want
people to enjoy it that way.I want them to make sure they play
they pretty much you know, givethe artists that ain't getting shine shine,
you know what I'm saying. Sowe got different DJs, Like I got

(01:26:27):
like seven or eight DJs and sendme new stuff each and every week,
and they play what they want. They can be two hours, it can
be three hours, it can behour and a half. It doesn't matter,
as long as you give me newmaterial in content and we fill up
the rest of the joints with playingalbums and singles draw out the rest of
the day, you know. SoI want people to come to it like

(01:26:51):
well, like DJ Grasshopper, DJRancher and a couple other ones that you
know, they get to play whatthey want. Jazzy Waite, you can
even tell ask him like I don'trestrict the formumat in no way. Positive.
Keep keep doing what you're doing, you know. And like you said,
everybody brings their own fan base. You know, it's like wow,

(01:27:13):
you know the numbers. I seethe numbers, and they'd be like,
so it's a big family, man, it's a big family. Man.
It feels good Man to be apart of that, you know, to
be a part of something from thatfor sure, you know. And Chris
Man, we don't do something forsure, Man, I mean you gotta
get you know, for the dD man. You you are part of
it. You know what I'm saying. I already told you you are part
of that join you know, andwe got a we got a lot of

(01:27:35):
work to do, man, forsure, I think it's I think we
got the foundation, but we gottatake it to a level where we could
all end up on perious sex.SMI. You know what I'm saying.
The channel, the whole channel canend up interious sex. That's that's what
I want. You know what Imean, That's what I want. What
you know, real quick fellas, real quick fellas. Let me connect the

(01:27:56):
dots. DJ Blast, meet Zazzas, link up with DJ Black, Phenomenal
DJ and DJ Chris. Thanks forbringing to your platform. I got a
studio such a starting right now,so I got to make a move.
I French, thanks, big Frenchman. I appreciate him. I'm talking
to that was surprised, Big Frenchjumping in right there? Man, you

(01:28:17):
got you man, You know Whi'sCasey Jones? At is Casey Jones in
here? I'm not sure I didn'tsee his name or check out a little
bit later, right, but forreal salute you for doing what you're doing
with UM for the DJ's radio.Man, that's similar to what I'm doing
with s FT five Fight Radio. You're showing love to the DJs. You're

(01:28:40):
you're getting the stuff out there. They're all playing their own stuff. You're
not You're not interfering anyway. Andlike you, I'm just the face of
it. You know, I domy own show. But like I said,
I don't tell the dj is whatthe play. They just do what
they do. You know that sure? For sure, Man, it's a
beautiful thing. Man, I'm justglad. I'm just glad that I'm able
to do it. And you know, I want to make it too.

(01:29:01):
Where As if a DJs you know, gear got messed up, we want
to be able to go ahead andget them another piece of equipment. That's
how I wanted to at you knowwhat I'm saying. If it's djeds a
certain set up, you know, when we got the funds to do it,
I want to be able to providefor the for that DJ that's on
the show, you know what Imean. That's what we're gearing for.

(01:29:23):
You know what I mean. Iwant everybody to be able to you know,
and maybe at one point, youknow, have an income you know
what I'm saying, where everybody hasan income where we get paid every week
like a job, you know whatI'm saying. But we got to keep
building it and keep putting it tothe level whereas you know, we could
do that one day, you know. So and that's the plan, you
know, that's the plan for Shure. So let's see going. Let's see

(01:29:45):
for the DJ's radio. We cancheck for that pretty much on Spotify.
Like you said, you're getting sponsoredby Spotify once again, congratulations for that,
because it's very hired to get apodcast going on Spotify's not as easy
as you think. And you don'tsee as much money, is you?
For real? Do you even doingthis podcast? With spreaker dot com and
Apple podcasts all that, there's moneyto be gotten, but it's not like

(01:30:09):
super mad amountain Yeah yeah, nowyet we're not there yet, but we're
gonna get there now. You hearabout these Spotify all these podcasts deals with
duds, raking and means of that. But then those are people are just
talking. We're we're DJs. We'replaying music, trying to introduce music to
other people, but without going throughthe you know, and piece to my

(01:30:30):
man status, selected DJ clips andall of them. But you know that
all of us can get on satelliteradio, you know what I'm saying now
now, But we're coming man.Watch you'll see. Man, I'm gonna
tell you what, Man, oneday we're gonna be off. We're gonna
have afforded DJ's radio channel on somekind of big network. You're gonna see.

(01:30:51):
No, it can't happen if ithappen right now with you doing the
internet right now and then, andyou're gonna be a part. Are you
gonna be right there next to medoing it? You know what I mean?
For sure? But so, likeyou said, you got these joints
coming. You got Big French, the Big French coming up. You got

(01:31:11):
the Knockers joint coming up. Andof course you got your own solo project
coming up too as well. Yeah, a solo project with me and French.
I got a project with Casey Jones. That's when I was trying to
remember. You know, we gotthe prop. The project with Casey Jones
is a rapper's done, is completed. We finally got it done, you
know what I mean. We gotum, We got a few, a

(01:31:34):
few artists on that's gonna there's onthat joint, and you know, I
got the set up hit, wegot a matt faced males bird, we
got Prop the Hustler, we gota misunderstood a lot of people don't know.
His sister is amazing. She wasthe one. Let me let me
correct you on that because I did, Yo, shout Prop Hustler. It's

(01:31:56):
Prop Hustler and not Prop the Hustlerfrom I've been I've been a fan of
his for a second and the dudegoes in. I'm not sure where he's
from, but I like his rhymestyle, like the way he rhymes,
and his beat selection is great. And just to see you on the track
with him, that was like,Yo, you got props. Yeah you

(01:32:17):
got, yeah, you got yougot the exclusive there man for Man the
Prop and you will and you knowmiss something Understood Man from the forty year
old version on Netflix. She he'son the album too. That's my sister,
Yeah, the Muslim sister. Soyou know what I mean. She
represents that. She's on that joint. I got in the veg B And

(01:32:40):
of course lip style. You knowwherever I'm at, lip styles is right
there next to me, you knowwhat I'm saying. And um, you
know I got Squeegee, Oblong andand Cartona you know what I'm thinking.
And I got the joint with Jamillhonesty, you know what I'm saying.
We got that too there. Soit's it's an action packed album. It's
come pleaded finally, um, whichwe're talking to a few you know,

(01:33:03):
distributors right now to see which oneis the best one to go with.
And we ready to rock and roll. Man. You know, me and
Casey we were very hard man tous a few years because you know,
life, right, life gets inthe way. You know. I wasn't
feeling too good at the time, you know what I mean. I was
overweight. Um, I lost aboutone hundred and twenty three pounds in the
last year and a half, youknow what I'm saying. So I feel

(01:33:26):
great, you know, even withthe robb too. Now it's like I'm
not out of breath, you know. So you know, we had to
get our stuff together. Casey wasgoing through some stuff as well, so
but we got it together and thealbum's done now, man, so now
we get to celebrate, you know, good man for real? I mean
because I've seen the old pictures andI was like, yo, he's you

(01:33:46):
know, I remember we ticked itfor a sake. I was like,
yo, he looked a little bitslimmer than what he was before. Like,
Yo, yeah, he's doing thisthing. In fact, I may
have to contact you off the podcastabout how you slim to music. Man.
I'll be I'll be more than onit. Bro. That's another thing
I want to do. I wantto be an advocate, you know,
for health, because I feel like, um, you know us, you

(01:34:11):
know, Hispanics and Afro American people, we don't take care of ourselves like
we're supposed to, and um,I think we should. We should really
watch what we put in the mouthand you know, and really do on
your own. And it don't takea lot, you know. It's got
to stop eating these beef patties upthe street. Oh man, that that

(01:34:31):
stuff, dad, brother, that'sthat's the that's the killer there, man,
the crap. We all love it, man, we all love that
stuff, you know. But portlyit comes the time in your life.
You know. I look at itlike this, Right when you was younger,
you will go to the club, you will hang out, you know,
drink do everything right. I don'teven smoke. I don't even smoke

(01:34:55):
no more. You know what I'msaying. I stopped smoking like maybe three
months ago, four months ago.You know. I don't drink, I
don't smoke, I don't I don'teat nothing, just fry, you know
what I'm saying. I eat alot of vegetables. I do a lot
of walk, and I walk ahalf an hour a day, you know.
And we gotta take care of ourselves. Man, Because that's what I
said, I'd be taking you upfor those tips. Yeah, man,

(01:35:18):
for sure. Man, we're stillhit man. Yo. Um pretty much.
Yo. We covered a lot ofstuff. Is there anything you want
you wanted to go over? BecauseI know you spoke about a couple of
things. Is there anything Guls youwanted to go over? Because you said
you did want to take about acouple of things. And I know you
covered the DJ thing, yeah youknow, and I know you was pastored

(01:35:39):
about that. So anything Guls youwanted to cover, its just be ready,
man, be ready. There's alot a lot of music, you
know, it's coming down. I'mcurrently working currently in the rotation. It's
four albums that are pretty much oneone last one got started and you know

(01:35:59):
pretty much when we was the manScientist. That's done. That's about seventy
percent done. That's about eighty percentdone. I got to go with Tone
from um Pseudo Intellectual. That guy'san amazing producer. If you don't know
him, go look him up.He's an amazing producer. Um, we're

(01:36:19):
doing that, and we got themixtape out and we got the merch.
DM me directly if you want topurchase the murder and doing as well man
with the Sister, you know whatI mean. So we're busy, man,
and we got the Knockers. TheKnockers joined us completed too. That's
done. Deal. Where can wewhere can we get that the tape I'm

(01:36:42):
talking about with from DJ Glips?Where can we find that at right now?
You can get it directly with me? So just DM me through my
through my uh my instagramming. I'mhappy to see you the you know the
mix. We're charging ten dollars.You know what I'm saying. I don't
think that's bad for tracks, notbatting off. It's worth the value of

(01:37:05):
that mixtape for real. I appreciatethat, Bro, I really do.
Man shout over twenties some tracks andit pretty much tells you his whole journey
throughout the whole music career. AndI'm telling you're rock to every one of
these tracks. Real, man,I'll say this about this, Zaz right.

(01:37:26):
I only interview people really that I'mreally really feeling and liking. And
this is why I asked you tosend me some stuff before we even talk,
because I want to hear more soI can get more into you.
Because I already liked the other stuffthat you came out with, but I
really wanted to get into it,so you know, and anybody will tell
you Chris on the interviews and peoplehe really really likes. So that may

(01:37:51):
be a fault of mine, butI can't really build conversations with people that
I'm just like half fully underfense aboutit. It's got to be eternally dope
internal. As far as I'm concerned, I appreciate, brother. It means
a lot, man. And likeI said, man, and feeling is
mutual, man. And you know, and we're gonna do something. And

(01:38:14):
I got your number, you gotmy number. We gotta get together for
the DJ and vice versa. Youknow, whatever I could do to help
out the show. You know,I'm here for you too. You know,
like both points, you'll be seeingthe promotion for for this as soon
as soon as I put it out. So you know, if you've seen
the one that different Indigo Phoenix, you know that that did big numbers for
me. So, you know, man, the indie because I ain't did

(01:38:39):

take care of, so I hadto stop doing the podcast for a while
and just did the from radio show. So Indigo when she said she wanted
to be interviewed, I said, well, let's do it in the podcast
