Good Ringo. I' m goingto tell you a story based on this
book, The Sun, the Moonand the Water, and I' d
like to read you one thing.I' d like to read you one

way. The Sun, Moon andWater is a very popular tale of Nigerian
Folklore and has been translated and publishedin many languages. This version includes some
verses to which you can put music, because well tells the storytellers in Nigeria,
that a story always looks better ifyou add singing rhythm and dancing dance.

I' m not going to,but they' re rhythm and singing
maybe. I dare with all ofyou the sun, the moon and the
water. Many years ago, whenanimals spoke and the things of this world
were not as they are today.The sun and the moon lived on earth.

Every afternoon, the sun and themoon were going to play at the
water house, but the water neverwent to the sun house or the moon
house. Why, why you nevergo to our house. He asked the
sun one day and the water answeredthat he had many relatives. My family

is very big and where I gothey all go. Then the sun told
him, for I am going toenlarge my house so that everyone will fit.
“ All right,” the watersaid,“ but we will see
” The sun went to work.He made a second floor to his house.
He asked the moon if it wasokay, and the moon sang no.

No. No, the water doesn' t make it bigger has to
be. Then the sun built athird floor. He' ll be fine
so he asked the moon and themoon sang to him from below. No.

us. The next day the watercame and entered the garden. From there
