Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Superheroes Speak two point zero. We'll get in
(00:21):
at a second. I'm your host, Dave, and I'm done, yes, yeah,
actually yeah, real quick, before we get anything else, I've
been thinking about that all week. I've been calling it
two point oh, but really two point zero is when
we went live here on YouTube. Three point zero is
this a little bit of a little bit of difference,
But we shall see see if anyone watches us tonight.
I just posted a poll in our chat. I have
(00:44):
a question for anyone who's watching. Should we bring back
social media? Manness? It's a new error, new show, new
things happening? Can we bring it back? So let us
know answer the poll. So before we get into all
that this is a new show, we're doing things new backdrop,
A couple things look a little different. One of the
things we're gonna do is we're gonna have graphics. So
(01:07):
let's before we do anything else, talk about what we're
gonna talk about today. So tonight's on deck. For tonight,
We've got and or season two trailer. Super exciting is
Kathleen Kennedy stepping down from lucasfilm that has been in
the news. There have been two conflicting reports that have
come out, and then Variety had an interview with James Gunn.
(01:28):
He said he has a six year plan for DC
and is Zack Snyder back with the DCEU. These are
burning questions that we need to answer, and we'll get
into all of that. But before we get to all
of that, how are you doing, don How you been
doing since Sunday and John left the show? Have you
(01:51):
stopped crying yet?
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Yeah? Yeah, only once per day at least, so you
have stopped to continual crying. It's a little bit surreal
if you understand everything. As far as I've been doing
since that show, I'm doing pretty good, except for the
fact that I started to stream some Marvel rivals there.
But now, of course, if you'll if you see that stream,
which is on our channel here, if you watch it,
you will see that I have some tremendous stick drift.
(02:17):
In fact, I even made a little song about it.
But come to find out, my shit is in warranty,
so I don't even have to replace it. I just
have to send it back. But nonetheless, I've only got
the one controller. I'm like a little bit feeling some
type of ways. Other than that, the week.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
I just installed my Marvel Rivals on my PS five
so that we could play.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
And we're gonna and I want people to join us,
and I'm gonna be streaming that stuff. But right now
I'm just yeah, I'm in limbo because I don't I know,
I'm trying to talk myself out of going to Walmart
and just buying another controller because outside of now, it'll
never get used again. But there are some really cool
looking Oh yeah, yeah, how's your three days been since
(02:59):
you best friend left to show?
Speaker 1 (03:01):
It's been interesting. Work has actually been I wouldn't say
busy but annoying, and I've not but I have been busy,
like getting all of this stuff ready. If anyone has
noticed that we used the old theme for the show tonight,
that was something I wrote. I'm actually playing the guitar
in that.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Well fucking sue us, Yeah exactly.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
You can't sue me for my own music.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
They're gonna question your name's John Fogerty in nineteen sixty
rockstar jokes.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
So I've been busy with that and that's about it. Really.
It's a Wednesday night, says, there are people watching us,
so hopefully we'll get on the comments.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
People watching us on hump Daynesday.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Let's see if we can get through this without too
many issues, it'll be fun. Reminds me of a story
I heard once. Teachers in school, and it's a Sunday
school and she's asking the students, what do you think
is the first part of you that goes into heaven
when you die? And Little Susie raises her hand right away,
and the teacher says, yes, she goes your hand, because
(04:00):
you do all your good works with your hands. She said, oh,
that's a good answer. And then little Timmy raised his
hand and she said yes to me, and he goes
your heart because that is what you feel your love with,
and that's God's gonna know your heart, and that's what
you get the first part of me to goes into heaven.
She said, oh, that's another good answer. And little Johnny,
oh bless Little Johnny shoots up his hand and he
(04:22):
goes your feet. The teacher says, I don't understand. How
is it your feet? He goes, I don't know. But
the other night I walked in on my parents and
my mom's feet were up in the air and she said,
oh God, I'm coming. There is your inappropriate joke of
the week. John is not here to embarrass, so that
(04:43):
segment that might die because the whole reason was the
bug him. Yeah, we'll see, we'll see. So, yeah, we
don't have a show to talk about because we did
finish up talking about Spider Man last week. There will
be a new show coming soon. We'll get to all that.
But before all of that, I think Dark Dawn needs
to tell you where you can find more superheroes down here.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Must subscribe superhero Speak. Haven't already have already another account
and subscribe again. Also like this video. While you're on
the HOLLOWNT go to superheroespeak dot com. Find the links
to our merch and purchase one of our shirts. Don't
(05:28):
skimp on the shipping or else I will trap you
in a box with an agitated gun dog name elast
and I would just fullse lightning, but we don't have
that in the effects. But now back to the show,
great dark named Breelarson. That's perfect. Why said that? I
honestly did not think of saying that until I'm literally
(05:49):
recording it, and I'm just like a gun dark name Breelark.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. A second time.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Yes, you know what, though it's a new show, it's
time for new quirky things. And I always say here
subscribe and all that jazz. You know what, I think
I have a little video that can do it for me.
Speaker 3 (06:10):

that that does it for that nonsense. You know what,
We're gonna need commercial breaks because we're gonna lose money.
So let's dick commercial break that I could put in
the audio podcast. We're gonna talk about that too a
little bit. But commercial break. Moving right back with the news.
Speaker 5 (07:11):
He's Spidey isn't Marvel's new Bizzazz magazine fantastic.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Fantastic but not perfect.
Speaker 5 (07:17):
But Bizzazz has the lowdown on Jaws too, and more
Sean Cassidy picks than his mother. It's sensational, sensational, but
not perfect All about Pizzazz's goofy guide to TV. It's
why I look at sci fi movies. It's games, puzzles, comics.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
What could be more perfect?
Speaker 5 (07:33):
Me on the cover, not the Hulk, Dizazz, the almost
perfect new monthly from the off the Wall gang at
Marvel Comics.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
Dang, that's loud.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
I'm gonna yeah for your future, working out the Kings.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Here, working out the Kings, working out the Kings. We'll
get there, don't worry. But we do want to talk
about Indoor. Season two trailer came out this week, and
if you haven't got a chance to watch it, guess what,
Boys and girls, this is why we're gonna need advertisers
and we're gonna need to make money because we're gonna
probably get demonetized for this. But if you haven't done
so yet, here is the season where no war. You
(08:34):
want to fight? Oh you want to win? This looks good?
Speaker 6 (08:45):
Oh yeah, boy, really definitely getting us ready Rode what.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
A swell good. I hope those weren't space lesbians, the.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
Space lesbian stuff. This looks exciting.
Speaker 7 (09:44):
Remember this moment, you're here, you're right here, and you're
ready to fight.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
H So yeah, April twenty seconds. I know that you
saw the first season and you love it so much.
I have to be honest. I watched the first episode
and I was a little bored, so I never went
back to it. This looks like a completely different show.
I don't know. And I know that it's critically acclaimed
and a lot of people love the first season. But
you have to tell me, does this look more exciting
(10:19):
than the first season or was there more excitement near
the end of the first season.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
No, I definitely think this looks more exciting than the
first season. The first season, I get what you're saying there.
The first couple of episodes they're boring, but once you
really start getting into it and appreciating the story it's
telling and how good of a job they're doing overall
and telling the story, like, you start to get it.
So I just tried to just muscle through the rest,
(10:45):
but definitely not action oriented at all. There's action in there,
Like you said during My Boy, that's Luthen. He's an
awesome character, which you get to some shit. You go
to YouTube and look up Luthen's speech and you'll see
what I'm talking about, or Louth and escape from a
factor beam like, those are all great scenes. But yeah,
definitely this seems to have a lot more action to it,
(11:08):
which that's fine, that's great. I'm here for that. It
doesn't have to be as cerebral as the first season.
I'm surprised that I liked the show that much because
I'm not a big fan of Rogue one. Because I'm not,
I enjoy it. It's not bad. The scene at the
end with Darth Vader is worth everything. But even beyond that,
(11:31):
it's just we know what's gonna happen. We know they're
going to die. But it is an interesting.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
Says, I'm sure most people will hate it. Are you
saying season two? I don't know what we're just saying.
Season one is critically acclaimed, and this looks more exciting
than the first season. I think this is gonna be
a big hit, but maybe I'm wrong.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
I'm the I see this watching this trailer, this is
what I wanted to say. Made me exc to watch this.
So now I am going to go watch season in
anticipation for this coming out in April, so that we
can talk about it on the show. Yeah, I'm excited.
It looks really good, and I think they I don't
know what the plan is is this because they're showing
(12:16):
so much that you're familiar with from Rogue One. That
makes me feel like this is it. It's just going
to be the second season and then the story picks
up where Rogue one starts. So I feel like they
should release this and then re release Rogue one into
the theater.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
Yeah, so they definitely should. Yeah, it wouldn't be a
bad idea.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
See.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
I agree with you though, because we see director Crenic
and it looks like the Death Stars nearly to the
point yep of being completed like in Rogue One. So
I tend to agree with you here. I don't know
how much more they can get out of this character
again because we know his bookend.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
Well, I'm glad they decided to get at least one
more season out of this so we could see. I
just like seeing the different aspects of starf W. Yeah,
and I think and Or brings that to it shows
you a world of Okay, Yeah, the Empire is a thing,
but like one of its biggest messages is the fact
that most people don't care. Most people are like New
(13:14):
Republic Empire old Republic. Who gives a fuck? I just
want to go about their life on choruson and I think, you.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
Know what, that is a reflection of real life. Like
most people don't care who's in charge as long as
it doesn't affect their day to day, and so that
makes it work.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
I think, yeah, I'm here to declare like when you
may hate me for this, but like, Star Wars is
really smart and from what I can see, the people
that don't like it or talk about it is because
they're not smart enough. This is my craziness. They just
don't They're not getting it. There's a whole other layer
of Star Wars that just eighty percent of peace don't get.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
Since we know Mark is watching and he is a
defender of the Rise of Skywalker, he gets it exactly
that he must be an intelligent person.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Absolutely absolutely. Again, now the direction I would have went
with things, but the story that was told and I
like it.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
Yeah. Speaking of Star Wars and possible changes and things
coming up, we've got good old Kathleen Kennedy is stepping
down as the Lucasfilm President. Is she We don't know.
So Initially, there was a report that came out from
Puck News that someone who from within Lucas the unnamed
(14:30):
source that all these are always named sources, said she
was actually planning to step down last year and changed
her mind and decided to retire this year. And of
course then CNN came out and said, no, that's not true.
This is someone who's close to the matter. So then
they didn't even say it was someone from Lucasfilm. They
just said someone who's familiar with it has come along
(14:50):
and said, no, she's not planning to leave at all.
So she's seventy one years old, so I tend to
believe that she probably is looking to retire. She took
over Lucasfilm seventeen years ago as basically a favor to
George Lucas, who wanted.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
To write, glad you said that.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
So I feel like now she's just she's ready to
hang up her hat and she wants to retire. And
maybe I'm wrong. I don't know. What do you think?
Do you think she's ready to step down?
Speaker 2 (15:18):
I hope she does step down.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
Now.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
Here's why, because A, yeah, she's seventy one. Enjoy the
rest of your life. It's not a personal level, yeah,
because you're always being inundated by hate. And so that's
why I want her to step down, because there's YouTube
channels I don't know, Star Wars theory, Mike zero, shit
like that. Yeah, nerd Rod that would be forced to
(15:42):
actually maybe talk about cool star Wars shit because once
she's gone, they can no longer just sit there and
play and hate her. Yeah, it's just the same contingent
and people. There's people to just fucking make money on YouTube.
They just scour the internets for something they can talk
about Athleen Kennedy or Ree Larsen or wherever the fuck they're.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
I'm glad you're bringing up that point because as soon
as the Puck article dropped and it was picked up
by a bunch of outlets mm hmm, all of the
YouTubers who don't like her not only came out and
covered it, said she's being fired because she's such a failure.
So I brought the receipts. Was Kathleen Kennedy a failure
(16:24):
at Lucasfilm and we're just we'll just talk Star Wars.
So she was in charge. The Force awakens two point
zero seven billion dollars box office. The Last Jedi made
one point three billion Rise of Skywalker made one point
zero seven billion, Rogue One made one point zero five
to nine billion. The only movie that didn't make money,
(16:46):
and there were a lot of issues, was Solo, a
Star Wars story, made three hundred and ninety five million.
But we all know that, like they started refilming it
halfway through and there was director's issues and all that
kind of stuff, which I feel was not Kathleen Kennedy's fault.
If you're Disney and somebody's making you that kind of money,
(17:06):
you're not going to fire them, plain and simple. That's business.
Everyone who tries to say she's a failure is not
looking at this logically. They're not looking at the empirical data.
I know the Indiana Jones movies made money, so I
don't know if the newest one did. Part of the
issue with that is, I'm sorry, no one wanted to
watch geriatric Harrison Ford running around pretending to be Indiana Jones.
(17:30):
That was the issue with that movie. Had nothing to
do with Kathleen Kennedy. Yes, they made fun of her
on South Park and what does it put a chicken
in a makeer gay? Is like the joke and it
was just like when has she done that. Ray's not gay.
There's no indication of that. The female lead in the
Indiana Jones movie, there was nothing about her being gay.
(17:50):
I don't know where that came from with Kathleen Kennedy
with South Park. But yeah, like I don't think she
was a failure. Maybe I'm wrong.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Know, No, I'm glad. Yeah, I'm glad you brought up
a cold, hard cast show. Absolutely, But further evidence is
Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau, Bryce Dallas Howard. Yeah, all these
people are doing what they did and will do, which
is good. Mandalorian anyone Yeah, was.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Under her was under her. That was her letting Favreau
and Filoni do their own thing. She didn't come in,
step in and say put a chicken and make it gay.
She said do what you want to do and gave
us some of the best Star Wars TV ever.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
Yeah, she has I don't even say her missteps. But
let's go down the line of what people I'll say
quote unquote air quotes for those listening, what mistakes she made. Okay,
because people don't like or her critics like to talk
about the secret A lot of people do. Some people
listen to coming on the show. But let's face it,
(18:57):
after the Force Awakens, we were all exc Now, the
only critique levied on that was, oh, it's just it
was new Hope again. Okay, I'll give you that, but okay, whatever,
it was still fun. If the only critique was that
we were treading old ground, okay, okay, then people didn't
like the Last Jedi because Luke, instead of being a
(19:20):
badass grand Master of the New Jedi Order, he was
rotchety blue milk drinking hermic eye. And then with the
Rise of Skywalker with all the whole Palpatine return things,
really flipping people out. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm
not a super big fan of the fact that this
was revealed on Fortnite, but okay, yeah, they're going for
(19:40):
the kids. But okay, so other than that, what missteps? Okay,
you mentioned Solo. I don't think we can really blame her,
but okay, Solo wasn't great. Other than that, but other
than that, what missteps?
Speaker 1 (19:54):
What is she done wrong? No? I think the only
number one the sequel trilogy. I have said this before,
and yes, I'm not a huge fan of them, and
I will say why I don't like them, and it's
the reason most people in our age group don't like them.
They're not the sequels they wanted. They wanted to see
Hans Luke and Lea running around the galaxy again saving
(20:16):
the galaxy and absolutely and all of that, and that
is not the story.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
That was written and it wasn't.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
And now the fact that we can't accept that does
it make them a bad movie. It just makes it
that we can't accept those changes.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
Right, And outside of that being somewhat legit, she didn't
really make me. Knowing a lot about the legacy Star
Wars and all that stuff, like I would have liked
to go more in that direction, but it didn't. Okay.
Out side of that criticism, the only other legit criticism
I have of hers when it comes to the sequel
trilogy is she should have made j. J. Abrams do
(20:53):
the whole trillo. She should not have planned to let
each director do their own movie in this trilogy. It's
just that that to me, have the fact that jj
Abrams does the first one and the third one, not
the second one, that's just that that that because the
story is not as cohesive as it could be because
of that decision. Okay, but again not worth all the
(21:15):
hate she gets.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
Yes, yes, and no. And here's the reason why I
pushed back on it a little bit. The original Star
Wars trilogy was not planned out the way it was.
If Lucas had gotten his way, we would have gotten
Splinter of the Mind's Eye as the sequel to Star Wars,
which looked crazy. Darth Vader is not Luke's father. Han
(21:37):
isn't in it. Luke and Leo are a couple, they're
not brother and sister, and it's nothing at all. But
we got with Empire strikes Back, and God helped me.
I can't remember the name of the man who wrote
and directed Empire Strikes Back, but he didn't do it
in a box. So that was I will say that
j Abrams gave us Force Awakens and he walked away,
and what's his face came in and Ryan Johnson came
(22:00):
in and was just basically told, you can do whatever
you want. You don't even have to look at any
of JJ's notes. And he came in with this attitude
of I'm going to do my own thing. I don't
care what he was setting up. I have my own
story I want to tell, which you know, good bid
and different, whatever, And that's why it feels disjoin it
(22:21):
because it felt like JJ was building something back up
for the original fans and Ryan Johnson was like, no,
we're going to squash that all down. And I really
feel like they should have worked together on it. Let
Ryan Johnson do what he wants to do, but work
with JJ and pay off some of the ideas he
set up in the first meet. But that's yeah, that's
neither here nor there. So speaking of her stepping down,
(22:44):
and we don't know if she is or isn't yet
there's been no official word from Lucas. Hopefully we'll know
something by the end of the week. But she was
stepping down. There are obviously two men out there who
could take her place. So would we like to see
John Favreau or Dave Filoni take over Lucasfilm or have
them be co presidents? I don't know what do we think?
(23:06):
Because we already know Dave Filoni is working on a movie,
He's doing a Mandalorian movie. Would you like to see them?
Would you like to see someone else brought in? I
know there's people going to argue there're star Wars and
what about Indiana Jones? I think any Jones is dead,
I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
Yeah. No, if they're gonna yeah, if we're gonna care
about people with whips, we're gonna go with Castlevania. Yeah.
The whole Explorer thing, I just don't get it. So
here's what I think. There is one person that I
think should be running Star Wars. Okay, right now, one person. Now,
if it's not this person, then yeah, I think we're
looking at one of the two here. But a person's me.
(23:42):
I should run Star Wars.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
You hear that, Disney hire Dodd.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
But if you're not going to do that, on the
off chance you decide not to hire me, then I
definitely want to see Dave Filoni. I want to see
him be the editor in chief or what have you
of Star Wars. I think he's got the direction, and
I think Favreau is very knowledgeable and a great Star
Wars director, so I want to see him concentrate more
(24:10):
on that. But I think overall, lore wise, direction wise,
I like what's Felony's head, and he's already been the
architect of so much great stuff that I definitely think
he makes the most sense to boss of Star Wars.
If Kathleen Kennedy doesn't. But I do want Favreau. I
want Bryce Dallas Howard, I want all those they got.
(24:31):
I think they got some really great director.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
I lean towards Filoni a little bit more just because,
and I know this is just.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
Look at this picture. If you could, hey, pick one
of these guys as a Star Wars. Are you gonna
pick the guy in the slick suit there a Are
you gonna pick the guy into what looks to be
denim jacket with a stupid cowboy which one of those
looks like a Star Wars fan to you?
Speaker 1 (24:53):
The guy with the cowboy hat, absolutely, and he is
a fan, and that's been proven over and over again.
But my other thing with that is Jon Favreau has
given us some great movie over the years, and I
feel like if he was in charge of Lucasfilms, his
hands would be tied and he wouldn't be able to
go and do another Elf movie or go work for Marvel.
(25:15):
They're all owned by Disney, so I guess he could
might not have time to other creative adventures, but so
neither would Dave Filoni. But I think he lives and
breathes Star Wars, so I think he would be fine
but that's my take. You heard my take, you heard
Don's take. What do you think about this? Is she retiring?
And if she is retiring, who should take the reins
(25:37):
over at LUCO? Let us know In the cow's comments
it's a nice thing to do. Leave a comment or two.
All right, let's move on to the most interesting nerd
news of the week. In an interview with Variety, James
Gunn came out and said that they are not making
this up as they go along. They actually have a
(25:58):
when this originally came out was eight to ten years.
This was an older quote. He said eight to ten
years planned. In the actual interview, he said, they know
the next six years are planned out. They know exactly
what's coming out. I actually have a note here I
forgot to include, which is, so we know obviously Superman's
coming out this summer. Later this year, we will get
a Peacemaker season two, and then next year we will
(26:21):
get wonder Woman, not wonder Wan, Supergirl, Woman of Tomorrow
at twenty twenty six, and then the Lantern's TV show
will also be in twenty twenty six. And yeah, so
that's what we know is coming the next That's that
is what we definitely know is coming in the next
two years. He had said in the interview he's doing
at least one movie and one TV show a year
(26:44):
going forward. This next slide shows what we know is
definitely coming from. This is all the stuff that is
confirmed from James Gunns DC. So of course we're going
to be getting Batman Brave in the Bowld. No director
or anything has been there's no dates. We don't know when
that's coming. The Authority movie, he's talked about that again,
(27:06):
no no information. Swamp Thing, Creature Commandos, we got the
beginning of this year or end of last year, beginning
of this year, which we talked about on this show.
The Wall Or TV show. There are rumors that show
is running into some production issues, but it is in
pre production, so we know that's coming. Of course, the
Booster Gold TV show and the Paradise Lost TV show
(27:29):
which is about Themyscarra. He's got a plan. This stuff,
he's confirmed. This is all. This is all stuff that's
in pre production. A they're working on. They are currently
filming the Supergirl movie and they are also I think
began filming Green Lantern. So he's moving full steam ahead.
There's no oh, he makes a bunch of announcements at
(27:49):
Comic Con and then things trickled out like they did
with the DCEU. Right. I think he's on the right
foot at this point. My only concern, and it's not
in this list because these are all the DCU confirmed,
because he's also come out and said that he's going
to still allow things like the Batman movies to exist,
which will be in their else world's shows or type movies. Yeah,
(28:13):
and I still have a concern that's going to what's
the word, confuse the normies. I know people don't like
when I say that, but yeah, like confuse the normies.
And I also think that's a move that Warner Brothers, Discovery,
whoever's in charge over there at this point, is saying, no,
don't stop those movies because they make us money. We
(28:34):
know that the Batman movies are going to be successful.
So if you make a Batman movie and then we
get the Batman Part two, we know we'll make some money.
And it's yeah, I guess I just don't think that's
a good reason. But what do you think Are you
excited at all for the DCU here? Do you think
this is a good place to start. I know you're
not as much of a DC fan as some former
(28:55):
co hosts, but what are your thoughts?
Speaker 2 (28:59):
Yeah, very skeptical of this whole thing. I really it's
really rubbing me the wrong way, like how James Gunn
is approaching this three Here, we've got ten crop ten
things listed here between TV shows and move and you
can't tell me that if DCU Chapter one, Gods and Monsters,
Man Legacy both. I'm not saying you're going to, but
(29:22):
I think it's being a little pretentious. In Marvel, they're
the standard. Even they have had to drop They've had
an embarrassingly drop ship off of their slate that they've advertised,
Oh this is what's gonna be, and then they've had
to like secretly drop shit off. Yeap o.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
James here says on Real Quick, I love DC as
a kid. I'm skeptical as hell, after thought as hell,
after thought Snyder Verse making something I love took like
a Trojan Donkey show. No, that's ti Iwanaiana.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
Do you know what a Tijuana Donkey show is?
Speaker 1 (29:55):
I'm gonna imagine something very traumatic.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
Yes, that's all. I'm not going to further explain.
Speaker 1 (30:02):
Yeah, trying to keep it family friendly here, Yeah, but
go ahead finished point. No, Like, I get it, Marvel
has had to change plans. I think whatever's coming out
this year and next year is still gonna come out
either way. They're not going to shelve anything. But that's
when they'll decide if they've got to change gears is
next year with Supergirl coming out. You know before that
(30:23):
they'll be like, oh, okay, maybe we do. We pushed
Batman up. We make Lanterns a movie in the TV
show because I still don't understand. I mean, I get it,
and JD said that too. It makes more sense as
like a police procedural type TV show because if you
want to like have the lantern core, it's hard to
do that in two hour movie. And how it makes sense.
(30:44):
But I don't know, we'll see.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
Yeah, I just I don't like. I don't like when
something is gonna fide I like that. Yeah, which like
the Creature Commando was all about playing the James Gunn
playlist obviously, which I just I get it word for
Guardians of the Galaxy one, it was fun, but it's
it's just not something I continually want. And he also
rubs me the wrong way because like also in Creature
(31:08):
Commandos there was a character of him, like a little
animated version of him before it started, and I'm just like, bitch,
you are not stan Lee, so don't even fucking go there.
I just feel like you're trying to go there and don't.
And also, wasn't isn't there two like heads of DC.
I don't remember the other guy's name. It was James
gun and somebody else. And I made that joke then like, yeah,
James Gunn, whoever the fuck this guy is. But now
(31:29):
it's true. It's just James Gunverse, right, it's the gun verse.
So anyway, all that ob skeptically and yeah, the whole
two batman thing, like, you're right, it's gonna totally throw
the normies off. Oh it, don't say no, Ormi's done.
Guess what. When I was younger, I got a fun
of him beat up for liking comics. So I can
fucking saint Ormies if I want.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
Peter Peter Saffron is the other guy, and I think,
let's be honest. Oh, James stan Lee wasn't Stanley. He was.
To a lot of people, I James Gunn is more
fam because of the Guardians of the Galaxy and some
of the other stuff he's done, and he's got a
big social media presence, so more people know him. So
that's why he keeps getting pushed out front of all
(32:10):
of this. And I'm sure Peter Saffron is probably happy
to just sit in the back and make decisions. And
I know I read in an article where it's like
they're both in control, but Saffron's more concentrating on the
TV stuff and gun is more concentrating on the movies
and the overall picture. But who knows how true that
really is. We're not in those offices, so we don't know.
(32:30):
So yeah, I don't know. I think the proof of
the pudding will be the move, the Superman move. If
it's Superman we want and it does well, I think
they'll be good. They'll be on the right track and
no one's gonna complain. I think if it's another dark
and moody Superman, then people are just gonna be like no,
They're gonna check out that quickly.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
I don't think that's gonna be the case. I'm more
worried about again getting gunnified. There's a fight scene and
there's some rock ballad playing in the background as I'm
just I don't know. I worked for Guardians of the Galaxy,
but that's just all James said.
Speaker 1 (33:05):
Yeah, f up Superman, and I'm out sure speaking of
people who f up Superman. The internet went crazy again
because this man here, James Gunn, had a meeting with
a friend, Zack Snyder. And while they were at this meeting,
they was a lunch meeting. Apparently, they just said, James Gunns, ah,
let's take a picture and put it on social media.
(33:25):
I know people are going to go crazy over it,
which they did. This picture was posted. I will read
the comment in a second, and people went nuts. Oh,
I'm sorry, I click on the wrong thing. Hold on,
I gotta I maximize the screen. It screwed me up. Sorry,
So people, we're getting used this, but we're getting used
those people. So I told you. I joined the DCEU
(33:49):
Snyder Verse thing on Facebook just out of curiosity. And
I swear everyone in that group was posting this picture saying, look,
Zach's back. He's they're gonna let him do an else.
This world's DCEU and bring back Kevil and bring back
the DCEU, and and that's it, and blah, blah blah,
and James Gunn was like, this is a comment he
(34:09):
made not that long ago. We knew that people have
this view that somehow we have been pitted against each other.
It's odd to have someone who you're friendly with in
real life be the guy that is a positioned to
be your lex luthor or I'm his lex luthor. It's
just such a weird dynamic that's been created between factions online.
And it's like he this is one of the reasons
(34:30):
I like him. He knows what's going on, he knows
the score. He knows there are Snyder bots still out there,
still saying that the Snyder Verse is coming back and
it's not. And he just decided to have and he
even he said that too, I didn't. I don't have.
The quote is that this year, just took a meeting
with a friend and decided to post a picture because
(34:50):
he knew people would go nuts over it. And they
did and started saying, oh, look it's back, it's back,
and it's no, it's just a picture. To guys, it
doesn't mean a thing. Will they maybe work on a
project in the future, who knows, But I think and
you can correct me if I'm wrong. I think this
should be the end of the Snyder Verse. Coming back
(35:11):
people hopefully listen.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
No, this shouldn't be the end, because the end should
have been years ago. But the Snyder Verse, it's it
reminds me of the Atari ET game right like it
came out, it fucking sucked, nobody liked it. So there
was a warehouse full of these piece of shit games
that they said, we don't want to be embarrassed anymore
by having a warehouse full of car game carteses nobody
(35:36):
will buy. Let's bury them out in the Arizona desert.
And so they do that, and then ten fifteen years
later it's, oh my god, you hear about there's so
many et games unsold that they're on the desert somewhere.
We gotta find them, we gotta find them. And then
so they find them and sure enough, it's just a
piece of shit game buried in the ground. And it's
like a Snyder Verse, it's just a piece of shit
DC universe that no longer nobody wants it. And mind
(35:57):
you when I say that, and for the reason to
hate me, if you're one of these people I liked, man,
But again, I'm a power porn guy. I don't mind
either version of Justice League, but I did with the
Zack Snyder Justice League a lot. I watched it with
Dave John and JD. There's a watch through oute there
(36:17):
somewhere of us and even at some point I'm like, guys,
this isn't bad, and we're like, yeah, this is actually cool.
So just making sure I lay the groundwork that I'm
not a Snyder Verse person, but I don't mind it.
But still it's a piece of shit buried out in
the desert. Leave it there.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
One of my favorite theories I saw in this group was,
and this was floated around for a while because Zack
Snyder had started working with Netflix with his Rebel Moon series,
that Netflix was going to buy the DCEU and or
contracted with Zack Snyder to bring the DCEU to Netflix.
(36:54):
And I'm like, do none of you people know how
copyright works. Warner Brothers DC owns those characters. They're not
gonna license them out to Zack Snyder to continue to
DCEU while they have James Gunn creating a new universe
that's never going to happen. I don't even know how
that got started, But like that was another one that
(37:15):
was all over those groups. I recommend that if you
want to, if you're bored and you want to frustrate yourself,
find the official DCEU community or whatever on Facebook and
join it and see how deranged some of these people
really are and how much they're just not going to
give up James Gunn's vision as it were. So yeah,
(37:37):
I think that's all I got to say about that. Again,
I will put it out to you people watching now
watching after the fact, what do you think? Are you
excited for the DCU, Do you think it's gonna be
a successor or failure? Do you have any faith in
James gun And do you think it's time for all
the DCEU rumors returning to die? There's only one right
(37:58):
answer to that question. Ah, that's it. That is all
the news that is fit to print this week. Yeah, wow,
we are going to get in under an hour. So
I only have I have one question for you, don
as I ask you every week.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
What do we learn on the shown.
Speaker 1 (38:17):
Or do you have any recommendations?
Speaker 2 (38:20):
Tonight I learned that apparently stan Lee is not stan Lee.
A lot more recommendations. No, the only recommendations I have
is for you, Davi Is get on that inviccible. We
were just saying, oh, we don't know, we're going to
talk about you gotta you're gonna like it.
Speaker 1 (38:35):
You're gonna like it, Okay, Yes, thrown to the superhero
speak three point zero technically two point zero.
Speaker 2 (38:41):
Yes, yeah, we are well. I got a shout out
to Throng though, because on our last show on Sunday,
you played my little Dark Dawn thing or the agitated
gun Dark named Brie Larson, and he had the greatest
comment where he quoted Hans Solos, you look like you're
struggling to pull yourself with gun Dark, but he said,
you look like you're going to pull the ears off
(39:01):
of Re Laurie. It was just a great job for
I just great job.
Speaker 1 (39:05):
All I let's see. I am gonna recommend wait. I
learned that we can do this. So there's a little
bit of bumps in the road. We're gonna keep evolving
this as we go along. There'll be some of the
little changes, but yeah, I think can do this. It
will be good. There are more changes coming. Just keep
your eye out for all of that. Yeah, and I
(39:27):
still miss John, but we'll be all right. I also
recommend what do I recommend? You know what I'm gonna recommend.
Speaker 3 (39:35):
It, haven't done so yet. Subscribe. It really keeps this
podcast alive. Smash the like button if you please. It
gives us what we need.
Speaker 1 (39:51):
Maybe leave a comment or two.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
It's a really nice thing to do.
Speaker 2 (39:59):
And what I you way in for?
Speaker 3 (40:02):
Visit almbrve store before you click away. Subscribe to our shoot.
Speaker 1 (40:13):
I'm going to get a lot of mileage out of
that quirky little song. Also, I am going to let
people know that there will be I'm bringing back the
memberships here on YouTube. Make sure your wife orders the
box spring when she orders the mattress. Oh that's his recommendation.
(40:34):
I am h. We're bringing back memberships. There's going to
be four tiers. I'm going to We're going to be
pushing those for a little while as our subscribers have
grown and as our audience has been growing, because we
are going to try to play more media on the show,
which means we will probably not be as advertiser friendly
going forward. We shall see so that it's going to
(40:55):
be important to find more avenues to make a little
bit of scratch as it were, going forward. So Yeah,
check that out. It's going to be the top tier.
You get a free T shirt, so check it out.
They were submitted today. YouTube has to approve them before
they can go live on the channel, so waiting for that.
I was gonna do Patreon, but keep everyone here for now.
(41:19):
Maybe if it grows people switch it over to Patreon.
We'll find out. Not that, not sure yet. There is
going to also be anew for those who do hang
out on the Discord. I have finally installed Discord on
my laptop so I don't have to go on my
phone to talk to people anymore. But I'm always on
my laptop, so I will be hanging out there more.
And there is going to be a member's only channel
(41:42):
on our discord and you will have to become a
member to join the members only discord, So so don't
miss out on that. Link for our discord is down below.
Link for the merch store. Check all that fun stuff out,
and that I think is it. I think that's all
I have to say on that. Yes, and we are
still like we are gonna start don and I have
(42:04):
already been talking about possible thirds. We're gonna again, We're
gonna rotate the third chair out for a little while.
And oh yeah, the theme song, we used an old
version of theme song. I am writing a new one
and there's a very special person who has suggested they
sing on it, so we'll see how that goes. If
you've been paying attention to the show, he was recently
(42:25):
a guest. Oh see, I already gave it away. He
was recently a guest, and he did reveal on that
show that he can sing. So if you've been paying attention,
you know who I'm talking about. And Don I'm sure
knows what I'm talking Yeah, all right, on that note,
boys and girls on behalf of myself and Don, I'd
like to say thanks for watching. Don't let you keep
(42:47):
caught in the door.
Speaker 2 (42:47):
See you next week. A
