Speaker 1 (00:18):
I am your host with the Socks that Rocks. This
is the official podcast of Rockklahoma. Surviving Rock Oklahoma, and
I just survived an amazing performance from some of my
friends from the opposite side of the freaking planet. Welcome back,
snake Bite Whiskey. Let me tell you, guys, you guys
(00:46):
get better every time I see you. I just love
watching you all perform. You guys played here once before,
and once you guys came back. You guys have been
back every year, whether you were playing or not, and every.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Year from now on. This is our spiritual home away
from home. We fucking love this place, the home away
from home.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
So tell me a little bit. How's how's your year
so far?
Speaker 4 (01:14):
Fucking night.
Speaker 5 (01:17):
It's been a big ear. Two new guitar players in
the band, and we've embedded ourselves in this freaking one,
crazy madness one. We've we've done a tour Japan, We've
got two new singles out, we've got almost an album
ready to go for next year. It's just been freaking
amazing just and then to be able to come back
(01:38):
here and almost finish off the year like later in
the year down here, Rocklahoma.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
It's been fucking so much fun, so much fun.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Tell me a little bit about that performance, because you
had the crowd exploding, guys, tell me about performing here
at Rockklahoma twenty twenty five.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
Yeah, anyway, it was uh, yeah, it was fucking good.
Man like they fucking yeah, it's like what everyone's here's
the fucking legends. You just fucking.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Yeah, how do you say it? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (02:13):
They fucking Rocott. Yeah, so Rocott two years ago we played. Yeah,
it was good, it was fucking amazing. But today it
was fucking double that. It was fucking yeah. It was
so fucking good. The crowd or fucking amazing. And when
you yeah, when you're playing and you've got that pocket,
(02:33):
you're get in the pocket or fucking I don't know
if you understand what I'm saying, but because I'm English,
but you're in that pocket with a crowd and you
know it and you just fucking it makes every It
elevates everybody, Like you know, this is.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
A real rock and roll crowd here. We play all
over the world.
Speaker 5 (02:52):
We've done lots of shows, lots of shows, but walking
out there today, not one hundred percent sure to expect
within four and a half seconds, we're like this is
our fucking place. This is our fucking place to play
because every single one of those people in that crowd
gave it as much as we did. And that vibe,
that power, that energy, that's what that's what thrives us.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
That's why we do it.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
It's a long way from Brisbane, Australia to come and
play here. It's a long way if you want and
we and we it's absolutely worth it. Like we loved
every second of that. Every person came out, everyone gave
it their energy, people knew the songs, hands were in
the air, and that's why we do it.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
That's why we do it. It's freaking amazing.
Speaker 5 (03:38):
Rockaholmer is a seriously incredible crowd and we fucking love it.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
It is great.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
But we're just saying, for anyone that's watching out there
that's an organizer, we need to be on a bigger
fucking stage. Needs fucking year or not next year, but
in a few years because.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Europe next, Europe do Infrinity beyond.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
I have no doubt you guys are going to be
on a made stage and it's just a matter of time.
And speaking of time, you guys are putting it in
a lot of time in honing your craft.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Tell me a little bit about your.
Speaker 5 (04:12):
Sound, Like, we work hard for what we've got. We
work really fucking hard. But when it comes to the stage,
we're a balls to.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
The wall rock and roll band.
Speaker 5 (04:22):
We are an old school band where there's zero technology
in what we do. We turn our ams up as
fucking loud as we can and we play rock and roll.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
And that's what people respond to.
Speaker 5 (04:32):
People don't want all the other bells and whistles and
all the other shiny shit.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
That's it's real. It's real rock and roll, and.
Speaker 5 (04:38):
That's why our shows are fucking awesome, and that's why
people have a great.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Like what how do you guys put all of this together?
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Like how do you You guys are everywhere and I
love it, But at the same time, you got to
put something together for a music and everybody's got to
be on the same page.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
How do you guys lock it all yet?
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Time?
Speaker 4 (04:58):
I think, like, if you like talking about how we
can't develop the sound and ship, it's like this right together.
It's just about ideas. We fucking somebody all come with
an idea, we'll fucking build on that and we fucking
That's how it grows, so we wrote too. So when
when these idiots fucking joined, So we were like, okay,
(05:24):
so these two comes joined, and we're like, fucking what
we're gonna do is release some songs with these guys playing,
because they're playing fucking ship that we fucking wrote before.
So we did that two standalone singles, fucking Toomstone Blues
and Living to Die, which is the last one. And
(05:45):
that's so one was one was his Tombstone Blues and
then the other one says Living to Die, which was
a passion project for him. Like fucking so yeah, and
now we've obviously we're right in the album. But yeah,
it's it's like a fucking organic, fucking process. You just
come with rifts and we fucking jell it out from there.
And like I can tell like when it's somebody will
(06:05):
play a riff, like we wrote songs off his bass lines.
You'll be like he's playing something. I'm like, dude, what
the fuck are you playing? He's like, Oh, it's just
my warm up fucking roof. I'm like, no, man, that's
a fucking song, like fucking and you build it up
from there. So yeah, that's how we do it organic.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
I that'.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
And you guys, you guys have been doing a lot
of traveling since you've been back in the stage. You
guys played here in Tulsa a week or so ago,
and you also played for your what second time at
Whiskey at Go Go Spectacular.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
It was ran to the fucking hill and we fucking
slay it and we were only fucking rock and roll band.
It was all heavy metal ship, which is not ship,
but I'm just saying it was. And we were like
a different flavor. We're like halfway through the night, and
people loved it because because we do what we do,
(07:07):
we fucking we're just a good time fucking rock and
roll backs.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
You know what I'm saying, Like fun first, fun first.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
I dige it, So tell me what is next?
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Like, you guys got something else, You're going to be
a dropping out and dropping on us.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
So we got we got one more show on this tour,
last last show.
Speaker 5 (07:26):
We'll leave here and we head to Nashville, So we've
got one more show there and then make the long
trek back home, try and get our ship together after
after three weeks on the road, and then yeah, it's
it's we've got We've got a bunch of shows before
the end of the year. We're playing a few festivals.
We've got some really good gigs coming up back home
in Australia which we're super pumped about as well. And
(07:48):
it's album, album album. Where we are, the demos are flowing,
the rifts are flowing, the JD's flowing. We'll put all
those things together and put an album out by Yeah,
we'll put an album out.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Next year and it's going to be awesome.
Speaker 5 (08:01):
And hopefully once the album's done and out and people
are digging, the new new tunes will come back.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:07):
We're kind of talking about what touring for next year
and that, and obviously we haven't done Europe for a
little bit, so we might go back there. But we
we want to come back to the fucking states Man,
fucking yeah, we.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
We love it.
Speaker 4 (08:22):
Play Rockahoma, We'll play the fucking Gang Ground.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 6 (08:27):
And this trip, this trip we've come back, made more
companions on along the way with other bands and stuff,
so we've opened up other opportunities for other gigs and
other shows stuff like that, other dates in New Orleans
and places like that.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
So yeah, hoping to get back soon.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
I like it so you guys, you're so at home
here on this in the States. When you get back
home over there, what's the first thing you guys do
when you get back sleep for a month?
Speaker 4 (09:00):

Speaker 3 (09:23):
What he does.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
So so before we start wrapping things up, I will
you know, you guys always have of the best stories.

bite whiskey. Friends, you got you got a favorite story
thus far from this weekend that you can share.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
Who all these people watching, that's a pretty fun story.
He did.
Speaker 5 (10:03):
He did get paddled on the ass in front of
about two hundred people in the campgrounds.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
It's red.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
It's very red down there. That's that's the most tame
story we have that we can give you. Everything else
is uh.
Speaker 4 (10:24):
And it's the thing about Rocker Homer for us, So
everybody always says, like, obviously we're a touring band and
ship like that, but we want, we wanna even if
we were multi platinum fucking selling, fucking artists. We were
saying the campgrounds because that's where it's fucking real, man,
that's where everybody is fucking cool and fucking you know
(10:47):
what I'm saying. So nobody wants to fucking hang.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Out backstage ship.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
We want to be out with fucking everybody else and
fucking partying and that for us. And honestly, man, Rocket
Homer is the best fucking music festival in the whole
fucking world. It's the only place you have this fucking community.
It's unfucking believable. Man Like fucking.

out there with everyone. I'm just having and drinking and
having the best time. That's you, guys.

really special. I want I want everyone to know, hang
on to this because this ship is fucking real. This
shit is real. Protected at all costs. The reason we
come all the way here because this is a family
and it means a lot. It means a lot to us,
and it means a lot to everyone we meet on
(11:42):
the way. You guys, hold on to it because it's
really fucking incredible.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
I absolutely love that. And you know what, we totally agree.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
And this is one of the first years since I've
been coming to Rock Oklahoma that they said, you know what,
we don't need a franchise, we don't need corporate We're
going to do it ourselves, something special, and no one's
going to tell us what to do.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
We're going to give the people what they want.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
This year, we are proudly proclaiming this is our Rock
Oklahoma when.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
It comes back every year. We're coming back every year
every year.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
Absolutely, you know what, And that's I think that you guys.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
I don't think I could have said any of this
any better, you know And I want to give you
all a chance to directly acknowledge your fans, the people
who watched you out on the dB concert stage, the
folks who stream your music on the streaming platforms snake Bite, Whiskey,
