Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello, most awesome one. This week, our episode is going
to sound a little bit different because, like a DJ,
I'm digging in my crates. With over three hundred episodes
recorded and released on this podcast, I have some content
that we can repurpose, that we can go back to,
(00:23):
especially when it feels fitting in the moment. And this
message that you're about to hear feels very fitting for
me right now in the moment. It's so funny because
I feel like you search for one thing, or you
click one thing on any of these social platforms, and
next thing you know, you're being served with all the
(00:44):
ads about how you can do all the things quicker, faster, cheaper,
just everything, all the shortcuts supposedly. And so this week's message,
it's a throwback to a seven minute Sunday, complete with
(01:05):
the music in all when I used to do seven
minute Sundays because I was doing two episodes a week
and one of the days that I would release new
content was on Sundays to get people prepared for their week.
So you're gonna hear that intro as well. And as
I was listening back to this deciding if I wanted
(01:27):
to share it, I was like, you know, This is
very fitting for the moment for me right now, so
hopefully it will resonate with you as well, and it'll
be that reminder that you need and maybe even the
deciding factor if you were contemplating doing something, buying something,
(01:48):
signing up for something, investing in something, maybe this will
be that little mmm, that's the nudge I needed to
just help you clarify things with your decision. Right after
this message from our sponsor, we'll get right into it.
Welcome to seven Minute Sunday on the switch pivot of
(02:09):
Quick Podcast. I'm your host, Ayana Angel, and we are
going to spend the next seven minutes together getting you
filled up with inspiration and goodness to get your mind
primed to achieve greatness as you enter the week ahead.
So this week, this is gonna be a quick one
because I just have one thing to say.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Nothing comes easy.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Oh yes, I know you've heard that before, but I
really felt like I needed to reiterate that because so
much of our daily lives are inundated with things that
make us think we can somehow skip the process. We
can somehow do this one thing and it'll get us
to the next step or the next level. Quicker, faster
(02:58):
before everybody else, ahead of our time, all those things,
and that also helps to play into the psyche of
you feeling like you haven't.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Achieved enough, quick enough. It's all a game. It is
all a game.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
But you can choose whether you allow this game to
be played in your mind and whether you allow yourself
to play this game with yourself or not, because you
can't skip the process.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
None of us skip the process.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
If you look back on some of the people that
you admire or that you really hold to a high
regard in terms of what they have been able to
achieve in their life, if you really pay attention to
their story and dissect it, you will see that they
encountered trials and tribulations, that they encountered things that they
(03:52):
didn't expect, that they had to overcome hurdles, all those things.
Because that is a part of the process. So it's
not so much about how can I get here faster,
How can I do this better? How can I achieve
this quicker than everybody else? It's what can I do
that's within my wheelhouse? How can I push myself.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
A little bit further? What is realistic for me?
Speaker 1 (04:17):
That's what you have to pay attention to what is
realistic for you. Everything is not going to be realistic
for you. And we were on Instagram Live last night
and we were talking about a topic from this book,
and the topic was about passive income, and there was
a really good point that was made. It said, it's
not really passive income that most of us are able
(04:40):
to achieve.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
It's more like less active income.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
So things that you set the foundation for and then
they are able to grow and turn into bigger and
better things that generate revenue for you without.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
You putting in maybe the one hundred.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Percent effort all the time, but that does mean that
you still don't have to put in seventy percent effort
some of the time.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
So it's about having.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
The perspective of what will it take for are you
or from you to get the results that you want. Realistically,
that's what we have to pay attention to. Realistically, Any
and everybody can sell us a dream, but are you
buying are you buying? Do you really think that that's
(05:25):
realistic for you? And I am not saying do not
think optimistic, do not be hopeful, do not try and
manifest the things that you want in your life. Absolutely
not But what I'm saying is when somebody offers you
a situation, or when you think that you can have
a situation where you put in little to no work
and get amazing returns, is that realistic? I wish you
(05:49):
could see my face right now, because I really want
to know is that realistic? Most times it's not, or
there's a catch. You don't want to be involved with
the catch, right, So I really felt like I needed
to share that, especially as we go into the new year,
because we're in January. Everybody's fired of everybody's talking about
their goals. Everybody's are trying to achieve bigger and better
(06:12):
and greater, and with that, we can all be susceptible
to the shiny pictures, the pretty things, the things that
seem like they're gonna be the best solution for you
to achieve something quicker, faster, greater, bigger than everybody else.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
And I'm here to tell.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
You if it feels funny, if it looks too good
to be true, if it seems too good to be true,
it probably is. Because you can't skip the process. You
can't skip the process. I can't skip the process. Your
homegirl can't skip the process. None of us can skip
the process. But the thing is, everybody's process looks different,
(06:57):
So don't sit around comparing your process to somebodybody else's.
Just be open and willing to do what is required
of you to get to where you want to be,
what's realistically required of you. Be open and willing to
do what is required of you, and don't look for
the shortcuts, because the shortcuts, those microwave results, you don't
(07:22):
want those. You want those good oven bake results, right,
And in order to get those oven baked results, you
have to prepare. You have to prepare the dish, right.
You gotta preheat the oven. You gotta do some of
your research and do the work and lay the foundation.
You gotta allow it time to properly cook and marinate
(07:43):
in its juices and all that good stuff. And then
even when you take it out, you still have to
allow it time to sit before you just dig in. Right,
So treat your process like a good old oven baked good.
Look at it like that, give it time to do
(08:04):
all the things that it needs to do. Because you
are not exempt, you can't skip the process. So enjoy
the process. Thank you so much for hanging out with
me on this seven minute Sunday this week, I hope
that you have a wonderful week ahead, filled with the process,
filled with learning, feel with openness and be good
