(01:23):

June tenth, people. I'm gonnatalk about my weekend real quick and
get to my in studio guests.I you know, if I don't write
stuff down, I don't remember whatI did. It's just it's a combination
of me having brain surgery nine yearsago and getting old. Okay, that's
(01:44):
the bottom line. But basically thisweekend, I know, I did a
lot of studying of lines. Ibooked some roles that I have coming up,
so I'm kind of busy through September, which I'm very blessed about.
So I know, I did alot of studying this weekend. Saturday,
I was all over the place.I was in Long Island. I was
in Queens just running around like anut. And Yesterday Sunday, you know,
(02:04):
it's laundry day for me. Weall need clean underwear and more setting
lines. And then I like collapse. I was just exhausted. That was
my weekend. And I also wantto announce murdered by the mob there.
I am is Bunny, Okay,Murdered by the Mob is the longest murder
mystery show in Manhattan. It's beenrunning for over thirty years. And I
(02:24):
play Bunny. Sometimes I play theCops. Sometimes I played Donna Rosella,
but most of the time. Rightnow I've got the principal role as Bunny.
I'm very excited about that, andwe perform it at the Iron Bar
in Manhattan at least twice a month. If you go to murder by Themob
dot com, you'll see all ourupcoming shows. It's downstairs in the secret
(02:45):
room. It's kind of like speakeasy and it's like going to an Italian
wedding. Someone gets whacked. Yougotta figure out who did it. You
eat, you sing, you dance, you drink. It's drink. It's
very interactive. It's a lot offun. So go to Murder by theemop
dot com see what our next showsare. I know we do have one
coming up on June twenty second.I'll be honest with you, I don't
(03:07):
know if I'm gonna be there ornot, because I might be filming.
I won't know until the beginning ofnext week. So go go, go,
and then next Sunday. Actually,no, this Sunday. This Sunday
coming is Father's Day, so Ihope everyone celebrates. My mom and dad
are coming back from Florida on Saturday, so I'm so excited to see my
(03:27):
parents this weekend. All right,So let me get to my guest,
because we have a lot to talkabout. I've been wanting her on for
a while, and you know, life is all about timing. She's an
actor, comedian, writer, producer, director, and a makeup artist and
she has been in this industry avery long time and has worked many different
jobs and has done many different things. Millie Michaels is here with me.
(03:50):
Hi, Lilli, Hi j Resa. Oh yeah good, How are you
good? I'm glad you have cleanunderwear. I know that send the one
thing my mother always said, youmust have clean uns. We had no
holes, gossip bit you get intoan accident. Yes, I'm like really
okay. So yeah, so laundryday is Sunday for me most of the
time. So how are you.I'm good. It's nice time of the
(04:15):
year, summers. I've got onsome like capri things here. I got
a little legs showing and I'm lovingloving the color. I got to make
sure not too much. Listen,So let's talk. I mean, I
know a little bit about you,but you know, I learned more about
my guess. So you're originally fromlinden Hurst. I am went to I
(04:40):
went to Born and Raised and thenafter I graduated from Lyndy High and moved
to San Diego. Who did youmoved? You left New York. I
went with my mom and her newhusband at the time. Okay, so
you really need to have much ofa choice at that age. No,
No, I could have stayed.I was working at the airport, which
is one of my jobs. Andbut my my now husband, he was
(05:01):
in the Navy, and he actuallywas going to San Diego. So yeah,
we were supposed to actually live inLA but it ended up we got
an apartment right around the corner fromwhere my husband was staying. And it
wasn't my husband have that worked?Yeah? I know. But when you
were in high school, were youvery look, I mean, hello,
you went you're in the entertainment industry. You went into the arts when you
(05:25):
were in school, were you,you know, a participant in you know,
had a call in the city singor plays? Or yes, I
was in plays. I was inplace very active Charles Street Players just for
like two years. That was itand uh, and then I got into
hanging out and that was the endof that career for them. But I
(05:48):
always wanted to be comedian. Atthat time, Rosie o'donald was big and
and and getting bigger, and soI always knew that I enjoyed comedy.
My dad was funny, my momwas funny, but not together. They
were not funny. But hence youmoving to San Diego right with the new
(06:08):
Huns, with the new husband. And then you were there, and while
you were there you actually wanted toYou went to cosmetology. I went to
Cosmetology de lou in San Diego.Yes, but I also have my license
here. When I moved back toNew York, I went and I took
the state board again. So howlong were you actually in San Diego?
(06:30):
I was there for five years? You are, yeah, okay? And
were you doing makeup while you werethere or did you land on the jobs?
Because as you know, we allwell, I went as I was
an avon lady. Okay, you'rejealous, Katie, and I sold Avon
for her in school. She wouldgive me the book and say, here
you go. Here you go,and sweet honesty, I would hand them
(06:54):
out to my girlfriends and take ordersand then give them to my aunt.
She'd give me like a ten percentcaught or something. Wow. Yeah,
well that was nice. Well,I mean I was only twenty when I
moved to California, so drinking gaugewasn't until twenty one, so I had
now to hear it was in NewYork, it was I was already legal
at eighteen, right, this istrue, So it was like life.
But then they raised it and theyraised them. Okay, so it was
(07:16):
just a couple of years later. That's when we had fake idea. Yeah,
but did your then boyfriend moved backwith you to New York. We
were no. We moved back.We got married in San Diego in Las
Vegas, and and then we no, not e no. But it was
(07:38):
where like Joan Collins got married orCindy Crawford got married. It was ligit.
And and then we moved back toNew York where I was. I
was managing hair salon in California, and they actually got me here in Massapequa
at the at the Mall, soI was I was managing a great expectations
(08:00):
when I came back that place.Yeah, and then I just you know,
was continuing to do hair. Soyou do hair and make up.
I do hair and makeup, right, And I cook and you cook.
And she's a cat, She's aNo, I a cat. I'm not
a cat. And you married howlong? The thirty eight years? Thirty
(08:22):
eight? Yes, we just hadour forty second Christmas tree, I believe.
Yeah, that's great. And thenyou also studied at the American Academy
Academy of Drama. Yes, Iwould take summer cours courses there. I
(08:48):
took classes with Gotam Gotam City inprivate Manhattan. I took stand up the
stand up experience with Stephen Roseen.Yes, I have that I have here,
so I took actually to classes withhim. So the first time I
ever did stand up was at theImprov in Manhattan. It and the second
time we did it at Carolines, which was really nice, nice and I
(09:09):
was lucky. Later on years laterI actually did before met Carolines with an
all girls group. Yeah. Itwas my a very good friend of mine,
Jody Wiener, who unfortunately has passedaway. It's actually a mister year
ago. Some of the women thatyees so it was called Ladies Let Loose,
Ladies Let Loose. Yeah, loveit, I love it. And
(09:31):
Cory Kahaney, Tina Georgie I wasalways the MC and we would do shows
at Chuckles, we'd go up statein Glen Falls. So was it a
traveling troop? Would you consider ita traveling It was like it rotated,
but basically it was it was mostof the time it was Corey Kahaney and
(09:52):
Tina Georgie and Jody Wiener the coreYeah, whoever Jody booked, I just
went, you know, so whenSo all right, so you studied with
Steven rosen Field, right, youand you did all these classes. So
where was your first your very veryfirst wasn't improv? The first time you
were on stage? Wasn't Gotham orimprov which for for stand up was the
(10:16):
improv was improv? That was yourvery first time on stage? And what
do you have to do? Youhad to do what five minutes? Five
minutes? Okay? Yeah? AndStephen taught me, well, you know,
he taught us that we would writeit in class and perform it in
class and then you know, hewent up and then we did at home.
They left. Yeah, and Iit's the first time, so it's
(10:37):
always wonderful. You bring, youknow, bring your friends and your family.
Yeah. My first time was atstand up New York. Okay,
after I graduated from my comedy okay, yeah, yeah, And then you
said, hmmm, I like this, yeah, don't Well I always I
always stayed in doing comedy or acting. Actually what I did was before I
(10:58):
got I didn't started doing stand up. I quit my job as a hairstylist,
and I said I'm going to goget a job at a comedy club.
So everybody was like, well, did you get the job yet.
I'm like, no, I'm goingto get one. Okay, I'm going
to be leaving. So you wantit, you know, you wanted to
be really like twenty four hours, eating, sleeping, just comedy, comedy,
(11:22):
and I figured the best way todo it was to go to a
comedy club and work there. Correctand very very smart. It's extremely smart.
I wish, like I said,I had, I wish I thought
of that back when I started inthe early nineties, but I just I
didn't. And then it was sucha great experience. It ended up being
like the best part of my husbandand my social and working life because you
(11:43):
landed at east Side Comedy Club.I landed at east Side Comedy They just
had the second and that's Richie Menavini, who I just had on last week,
and that we have that first picture. Now, tell that's really it's
Richie. That's Richie and Darcy andand Greg and Beef sus In and and
Donna Flacken and Denise Hurley and Claire. I don't remember Claire's last name.
(12:05):
And oh that's me. I lookI look like Claire. That's not Claire
Lowell is I don't know because Iknow Claire, but then you know people,
it might be it might be Lowell. That was actually a reunion.
That's a reunion picture. We werein Medford at the Governor's or is it
called governors out in the medic calledMcGuire's. No, that McGuire's. There's
(12:28):
another one another one. Yeah.I only know McGuire's Bromers and Brokerage,
right, But there was governors atone time had another governors in Medford.
Oh that I don't remember. Yeah, so that's where that that's where that
was. Yeah, we were justlike a little reunion. That's because back
in the day when I worked ateast Side. We didn't have phones with
us all the time. Yeah, you didn't have cell phone in back then.
(12:50):
But there were a lot of peoplewho came out of east Side,
which Richie and I talked about lastweek, like Eddie Murphy and Jackie the
joke Man, Martlane and Nelson andRob Bartlett and you know. And then
later on when you were there, you had Kevin Jane and James, Mary
Valentine's brother, and you had Rosie, and we had Adam Ferrara and Rock
(13:11):
Rubin Rock and they were all juststarting on. They would do improv with
jo On right right right, andwho I saw last Tuesday at Richie's show.
Oh I'm excited. I did goto Richie Menavini show and Joan was
there and I said to you know, I took a class with you at
It's like comedy club because she's likenice meeting you. I said, it
was years ago, but she's sosweet and so funny, very talented.
(13:33):
She's very She was actually in theplay that I did from It's All About
Me originally back then, but Ihave to send to this show to the
show, so it was it wasfun times working at east Side Richie's wonderful
his ex wife, he knows, she's so wonderful. Carla very very nice
(13:54):
people. So and I met somany people and so lucky. We filmed
Stand Up Spotlight for a full week. That was with Rosie o'donald, So
Ray Romano was there, SUSI smind. I mean I can't remember everybody
that that was there. But itwas for a full week. So no,
we didn't have cell phones. Butdid you keep did you? No?
(14:15):
No, I was so busy sellingdrinks, no camera. But the
funny thing was Rosie had come tothe back where we had all the micros
and you know, and the kitchenand one girl, Elizabeth, she said,
hey, Rosie, you got torun in your stocking and Rosie stopped.
She's just about to go on.She looks. She's like you're flying
(14:35):
because there was no run. Butuh, but it was great. Met
David Brenner there, so sweet.Yeah, David Brenner was so sweet.
And of course Kevin Kline, notKevin Kline, Uh, who's a comedian
Twine Cline Cline? You know,I can't move my shoe. What's this
thing? I can't move my shoe? All right? Oh my god Cline.
(14:58):
Everybody knows, so they I methim. He was so good and
yeah, there was a lot ofpeople. And you were there from ninety
you were there for more blur,it's a blur. Were there in nine
years, right, I don't knowif it was that long, but I
went from East Side when unfortunately weclosed, and then I went to Governor's
(15:18):
and then I worked there as awaitress. So and I worked with Jimmy
Finn right and got to do alot of Andrew Dice Clay shows six shows
of Andrew Wow. Yeah, itwas crazy. That was the first time
I saw Dice was again. Igrew up in Bayside, so my home
(15:41):
comedy club, you know, Icall it your home base someone you're there
all the time. It was Jimmy'sComedy Alley, Okay and Bayside, and
that's where I saw Dice for thefirst time. Jerry Seigin fell for the
first time, Jackie the Joke byMartley met him there. Joey Cole and
met there, Butchie burned him atthe everybody pretty much at Jimmy's and then
I was like, you know, and then then I was going into the
city and expanding my he because Isaw them before I started doing stand up,
(16:03):
so it was like that was theonly comedy club in Queen's Wow that
I knew of what I mean.Yeah, Joey Colon did a lot at
Yes, I believe it was.It was more at Governor's than east Side.
I don't remember remember him so muchat east Side, but I remember
Governor. He was a hard worker. Joey and getting Joey if I remember
(16:26):
the story Joey. It was thefirst time Joey got up the east Side
and I think it was like aI don't know what night it was,
and Riichie handed him twenty dollars andhe's like, what's this for? Because
no one ever got paid, right, and rich is like, I paid
everybody. And then he says, come back, I want to see you
again on Wednesday. And he goes, when do I audition? He goes,
you already did, kid Like,Yeah, was really helped so many
people. He let me get upon stage. Kevin James and him were
(16:49):
doing a prom show and guy,oh, wow, where the kids don't
drink right right right? And helet me get up there in my in
my waitress outfit. Of course, somebody was laughing because they were all drunk.
Oh my god, I mean theywere like under the table. I
mean it was, but not thatit was only the beginning. It probably
(17:11):
wasn't that far, but but yeah, that was that was funny. Hey
listen, we have to take myfirst break, Okay, but listen,
don't go away more with Millie Michaelswhen we get back. Wonder Woman was
(17:37):
everything to little girls, especially thatlooked like me. She stands for being
a voice for people that need avoice. My organization renovates homes for people
with disabilities, and when I comehome a self care routine makes me feel
my best. I'm very proud ofthe difference that we're making. It to
see that impact in my community andinspires me to work even harder for everyone

Rescuing Families dot com dot org.Look them up, see what they do.
(19:59):
Get involved. They do a Bingonight, and they do a Vegas
Night, and they do yard salesand just to raise money for people in
need. I love, love, love the organization. It's one that I
hold very close to my heart. So Billie Michaels is here and she's an
actor, she's a comedian, she'sa writer, producer, director. She
also a makeup artist and he's mymakeup beautiful Do I do my own?
(20:26):
And it's like you have a lookat a person and go, mmm,
I wish I could get my handson them. Yes, it does happen.
You're there, I'm sure. Soyou we talked about you working infiltrating
comedy clubs and that's where you know, like you said, Richie put you
on and then you were governors andyou got on. And while I was
(20:48):
at east Side, John Blenn wasbig Yeah, and we have actually we
have some pictures that we're gonna gothrough. Let's put them up. Now.
Tell me about that one. Well, this was al we did at
the brokerage. John Blenn has agroup called m CAP which is Middle class
American production. John he is andactually there's on all the way on Jones
(21:14):
and is in the middle. Andso John always he always, I mean
he must have written a play aweek, I mean, yes. So
that was something I wanted to do, was join in. I was lucky
enough to work with him, andthen he he would let other people write
uh little shorts for dating catastrophe.Yes, and and that's where I had
(21:38):
the opportunity to start writing. Okay, is that the next one. Let's
see the next the next one.Yes, that that was when I did
Free Range Family. That's with CaesarSanchez and Italian mother of course. So
that was oh yeah, my soncame home, brought a girl. She
ended up being the cousin. Ah, it was not a good situation.
(22:04):
And let's go to the next one. That's the next one. Let's see
what's that one. Oh, that'swhen I did That's when I did La
La Land at the brokerage, andthat's why we did We did five vignettes.
Nice and so yeah, I'm tryingto see so many. That was
the good show. And I raisedthe money for Long Island Cares because that's
(22:26):
the that's the group that I alwaysraised money always and what's what's the last
group pack? And that's when Idid It's About All about Me, okay,
which which we're definitely gonna talk, which was that Governor's Joan Saint Ange
is there, she's like the secondperson, she's in the middle. Yeah.
And my husband actually built added onpieces of stage because I had seventeen
(22:51):
people. Seventeen people, that's alot of people for that stage, thank
you. Yes. And and it'sabout a Garcelon and I had a Darcy
Novac had given me all these products, so I had them nice. That's
great. Yeah, it was great. Wait a second, somebody had it.
The whole thing fell on that onthe stage and we're going through the
lines and I'm picking up all theproducts. Everyone thought that it was part
(23:15):
of part of the end. Yeah, well they don't know. They don't
know. The audience. I mean, it was like a lot of products.
The audience does not know what's goingon. Yeah, they don't know.
So, yes, you spoke aboutthe play that you wrote. Let's
talk about the play that you wrote. So I wrote it eighteen years ago,
eighteen years ago time, and it'scalled It's All about Me. It's
(23:37):
all about me. Now you wrotethis eighteen years ago. Yes, okay,
what made you decide to write this? Like, where did it come
from? Well, I'm a hairstyle and I know so it's kind of
like, is it based on alot of different My hairdress is my therapist,
and I know we all know wego and get our hair done and
(23:59):
we're so I'm thinking to tell yeah, some things are in there, but
there's so many salons that I workedout. You know, you just grab
one persons personality he or there theother. There's so much. I mean,
you can I can continue writing aboutsalon. Yeah. So I never
(24:19):
really thought I was going to putit into a feature. I never would
have written seventeen or plus people tobe in a future. But we're doing
it. We're totally we're well castedand we're ready to go, and we're
going to start principal shooting in August. Yes, we're shooting in August.
And I'm happy to say I'm partof it. I'm in it, and
(24:42):
I'm very excited about it. Andagain, this is it. It's a
totally different animal because obviously live andfilming it two different things. Yes,
totally, And that's where Maria comesin. Yes, Maria Philippone, she's
my mentor. Yes, and Iwas been working with her doing here and
(25:03):
makeup, and then I started helpingher with directing and her short film in
with her short film since she's done, which you have been, you have
been. That's how we met,Yes, that's what we met. We
met well, I was actually here, you are here, and you are
here to Actually I met you whileyou were here and then reconnected through yeah
film the Graveyard Medium and reconnected there. But you Maria, you basically worked
(25:29):
on every short, yes, thatMaria has done since twenty twenty one,
even before well even before that, well the only ones I have which ones
were before? There was over tea, she had moments, Oh, I
have the Midlife, Midlife price missMidlife, I'm sorry, midlife conversations and
over tea, Yes, yes,and then Every Good Piece and the Graveyard
(25:52):
Medium and Addiction. Those last threeyou were assistant director. Yes, but
yeah, these were all shorts, all with Maria. Yes, abulous and
wonderful. Yes, I was inGraveyard, the Graveyard Medium, and it
was it was a great shoot atthe cemetery. Yes, pizza standing on
people's grave. It was different. We really but is very talented. Oh
(26:15):
so yeah. So I I said, I cannot do this without you.
I need your help to direct meon what to do. And she has
been wonderful and I've been going forwardand getting it, you know, one
step at a time, taking careof it. So we're going to go
direct together. So we had ourfirst that last the last pick, Carmine
(26:37):
the last if you scroll up thelast pick, no, no, up
up yellow. Yes, that's thepicture from the graveyard. Medium has Teresa
right in the middle there. Iam, I'm in my I don't know,
animal print shirt. And then youhave everybody else. I think,
I know there's a couple of peoplemissing from there. I know Frank Fayla
is not there, and just acouple of people aren't there. But that
(26:59):
was a great was at the cemetery. That was at the cemetery. At
the cemetery, thank you. Andthen the next film we had a coffin
and then and then yes that wasyes Lilo and Michael Fideli. Yes,
that was a diction. Addiction adiction. But the next pick is you
and Maria. Yes that was yes, New Jersey. Yes, we won
(27:22):
an a war and we won fouraddiction. Yes, no, we we
went the graveyard medium but addiction shouldhave won. Yes, but yes,
but it was great. But itwas great, but mine Michael had won
has one other awards for that,Yeah, portraying. This was for directing,
Maria, congratulations again, thank youfor that Commne. But yeah,
(27:45):
I mean it's an amazing journey andyou get to see what goes on obviously
behind the camera. And then nowyou're not only behind the camera, you're
playing. You're playing yea, mymother saying the mama, Yeah, the
mama, the mama. So telleveryone what exactly is It's all about me,
(28:08):
about It's all about me, it'sall about you, it's all about
them, it's all about everybody.Basically, No, it's it's a Goodbye
to Innocent comedy about a seventeen yearold Catholic schoolgirl Italian who goes who starts
(28:29):
to break a couple of commandments bygetting a job in a salon as an
assistant shampoo girl just so she couldbe near There's a boy who works at
Yah works at the pizzeria next thatshe wants to get her hands on,
right that he goes in there toget his hair cut and She's like,
oh, I got to get ajob, right, So she goes into
the salon and she she gets thejob, and she meets all these eclectic
(28:49):
kind of stylists and she tries tohelp them to be better people. You
know. She doesn't like fighting anddrama and drama, and she also likes
recycling. Recycling is a big thingfor for Anna, the seventeen year old
girl. That's our life, right. Yeah. Yeah, so and I'm
(29:11):
playing her mom yeh who she makesme recycle. It's great, it's gonna
be a lot of fun. Wedid our first zoom read yes with the
cast right because we have two peoplethat are in Florida, Yes, and
one's in Pennsylvania, Yes, GinaGina Gina Scarta and Erica Restivo. And
(29:33):
he actually played in the play, yes, all those years ago, Yes,
every part, yes, Ribvian.Yes. And he was very young
yes, so he still looks youngso whatever. Yeah, he looks awesome.
Yeah, he's very young and heplays the part. Oh he's fabulous,
and this he's he's gonna be playing. Uh he didn't play being Spanish
(29:57):
is because that's where I roaded.I wanted it. Okay, Yeah,
so he does it very well.Yeah, he does. So we're excited,
yeah to get going, and that'sgoing to be in August. Yes,
So we have our locations are inMassapequa. We have Beyond Human Island.
It's the salon that we're used onJerusalem Avenue. And then we have
(30:19):
a venue for the Miss Gay LongIsland competition, which is going to be
a three thirty four ninety cocktail andbar lounge. Okay, it's on Merrick
Road, yeah yeah, yeah,so yeah, so which is so nice.
It's nice when you're able to filmin your own backyard. Yes,
(30:41):
definitely, you know, yeah, definitely. And then we also have we're
doing a pizzeria. We have theVinnie's, well not Vinnie, he's Vinnie
from mister G's Pizza and Hurst.Yah. Yeah, we're going to be
filming over there too. Cool.So yeah, you know, the locations
are like once they're get out ofthe way, like you could exhale just
(31:02):
a little bit, yes, youknow, and lock them down, Yes,
the location, but then then youhave to get the crew and then
you got locked that down, thenyou have to get whatever. Then you
got like that, it's constant. But before I started, when I knew
that I wanted to make a feature. I went ahead and I took a
class with Mark Klebanoff, who hehas Odyssey Films. He has an in
(31:25):
and out indie class. Okay thatit teaches you everything from casting to what
you need to do to distribute lateron. Just you know, of course
low budget in you know Hollywood istwo hundred thousand to seven hundred thousand,
right, right, what do wecall mine? So yeah, so that
(31:52):
really helped me to I needed tofeel confident in my decisions. And so
everything basically is locked down and inplace. Is there any thing less that
you're looking for? I'm still wellit's been rough, but I'm still looking
for drag artists, artists to comein. Okay, well I have I
actually I go to today. Okay, Well, we're definitely gonna talk about
(32:15):
so long as they're available because they'reso busy performing all over the place.
So but that's that's basically it.Now, it's this is the fun part,
you know, where we get todress up the salon for more of
the characters that are there, andyou know, we're doing rehearsals. We're
really trying to stay on top ofit. It's a lot of people.
It is. It's a lot ofjuggling. It's a lot of juggling.
(32:38):
So and my husband's been very patientwith me. So and so is Maria.
Maria is awesome. She's great.I love her, She's she's fabulous.
She's fabulous. I love working withher. I really do, definitely.
So all right, so we're gonnaWe're gonna take my next break,
okay, and then we come backmore more. We haven't sea, they
(33:00):
say we wonder Woman was everything tolittle girls, especially that looked like me.
(33:20):
She stands for being a voice forpeople that need a voice. My
organization renovates homes for people with disabilities, and when I come home a self
care routine makes me feel my best. I'm very proud of the difference that
we're making. It. To seethat impact in my community inspires me to
work even harder for everyone around me. Hi. I'm Georgia Rose, founder
(33:47):
of Zancuda. You can watch meon the soul Space podcast every Friday at
noon on Channel twenty for spiritual guidance. And as you all know, that
is how I first opened into myown psychic gifts was through the angelic realm.
Astrology, and so we've got Marsand the Sun together in scorpio,
which creates a lot of combustion. In the astrological world, we call it
(34:07):
Akazini and taro with the four cupright side up. It means we have
a lot of choices to make, and we're not looking at what's really being
divinely given to us. We're toobusy in the busyness of the choices to
really see the divine intervention of divinetiming and find I where the place Watch
the Soul Space podcast. I ain'tdoing South the Voice Valent today. Why
(34:40):
are you watching me? You shouldbe watching Teresa kindistracy tee Time with Teresa
kind of Stracy Pharrell. It makessure you follow Teresa on Facebook. Tee
Time with Teresa kinda Stracy Fowl. We'll see you there. The way you
say my name mind Stan everybody, welcome back. We're just talking about made
(35:01):
of names. What's your made aname? Jertano Gerretano and it's twelve.
No, mine was it's ten.Okay, so mine's Cannis Tracy, which
is eleven. Yeah. Kindergarten wasgreat, I know right, No,
they can't. And it was funnybecause my father used to say, what's
your last name is? And hewould joke around saying kind of crazy and
I'm like, yeah, okay,or when we make it as reservations,
(35:23):
you just put it into Tracy Okay, like the last half of the part
of the names too complicated. We'rejust talking about yeah, because you know
Farrell and Mike. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, So Millie is here and
we're talking about her career and howshe grew up in Lindenhurst and how she
said, I want to penetrate thecomedy world. Wow, yeah, you
(35:49):
like that word. And my mind'salways in the godar ones a lot and
went to work for Richie Menavini atEastside Comedy Club and then it up at
Governors and and we're talking about you, you writing this it's all about me
eighteen years ago, and yes howyou're turning it into a feature and you
have everyone in place, including me, Thank you again for that, and
(36:13):
it's exciting and we're gonna film itin August and you have some places locked
down, you know, and I'msure you know there's other things to you
know, to think about, worryabout, like the editing and the sound
and the lighting, and everything thatgoes on, and you know, I
know, you do hair and makeupand hopefully by the end of all this
you'll still have hair on your headbecause you know it could be nerve wracking.
(36:34):
Yeah, but again, you haveh I have, I have good
Maria. I'm Maria, I havemy husband. You have you have a
good solid yes, and everyone thatall the locations, they're wonderful people.
So I'm not I'm not worried. No, no, I'm got either.
I'm just gonna show up and domy thing. Yeah. And uh again,
you know, you did all thesefilms with Maria, and you know
(36:58):
it gives you a nice like jumpingoff point, what do you find challenging?
Do you find anything challenging when you'reon set, whether it's you know,
in front or behind the camera,do you find anything. I think
it's the development part of it thatis challenging, you know, the casting,
finding your crew, you know, finding your locations, you know,
(37:21):
just getting everything and getting everything inplace. Casting is probably the hardest.
It is hard, you know, because sometimes you think you want someone for
a part, and then once theyread for it, you're like, not
the way I pictured it or sounded, and the Yeah, I know,
because there's a lot of recasting thatgoes on in many different right projects,
(37:43):
So yeah, and when you writeit, you know what the character is
like, right, you have itin your head, so you kind of
try to aim for that. Butno, I mean, this is my
first feature. I mean, soit's it's how difficult was it transforming the
play into a screenplay? It's ablur. Yeah, it's a blur because
(38:07):
it's a different animal too. Ohyeah, well, you know, Maria
has really helped me to figure outwhat we need to add, what we
took out, Like, I hada lot of I had a lot of
things going on that you know,it was too much probably too much action,
I guess, yeah, I don'tknow. Yeah, But so it's
nice to work with someone and collaborateand figure it out. But the play
(38:30):
was was basically in the salon becausewe couldn't change things we had, right
you basically in one set? Wewere in one set? And how long
was the play? It was?Now in fifteen minutes? Did you take
an interovision? Was it? Ithink we I don't know if we did,
(38:50):
I don't know. I don't remembersamount of time. Yeah, it
was good. It was we andwe had a full audience. And back
then without internet, I had todo all this without internet, get people.
I was walking around giving flyers.I was like doing everything. Now
it's so easy, My goodness, sit on the couch. I'm like making
text call you know whatever. It'sjust it's it's it's amazing how much easier
(39:15):
everything is now with the Internet.Like you said, it's at your fingertips.
It's great. It's great. Ilove Google. I love it.
Just google it. You don't knowGoogle. You know Google. You're not
living, but I know right,Oh my god, that's crazy. So
let me ask you a question. You I want people to know they can
(39:38):
follow you. You're on Facebook asmillion million million, Michaels are else and
my c h E A E Abecause I like to complicate this. And
then then also on Instagram as well. Yes that's private. Yeah I'm not
really Yeah, but I have Ihave a new page now it's all about
me. You can go there andthen you can follow us as we're working
(39:58):
on the movie. Ye have pictureup of now the locations and I'll start
to put. In April twenty twentyfour, you actually became an owner of
not a Scott production. Yes,LLC. Yes, So how exciting is
that? Yes? And where didnot a Scott come from? Well,
trying to figure it out. Iknow he has his name is Scott,
(40:21):
So what happens? What I havean ongoing joke. Everybody's name is Scott.
Even today, somebody commercially you're thename Tank Scott. Somebody kills somebody,
there's Scott. Everybody's just a Scott'sgoott. So it was just like
a joke we had. It wasa joke and then I ended up just
putting it down as not a Scottproduction. So and you'll see on the
(40:43):
credits there will be a lot ofScott, Scott for this, Scott for
that. That's funny. So Idon't know. Wow, So that's exciting
your own LLC. Yeah, that'scool. How hard is it? How
hard is it to get that?Like to no joy, you needs money?
How why do you do everything?Oh that's you need some money?
Just say yeah, it's not it'snot hard, really okay to get that
(41:07):
to get that part? And youdo everything online? I did everything at
home amazing. So but but that'show I became ordained to marry people online.
That's nice. You're like Joey fromFriends. That is so cool.
And you're an actress. I actuallymarried two people. I married two friends
of mine and one's a hairdresser.I love that. I love my hairdresser.
(41:30):
Wow. I married Diana and mygirlfriend Lisa's Yeah, I did well.
Lisa is the one who said tome, you know, I know
you're you do comedy and you're anactor, but you're very, very good
in front of people. And shesays, and I really want it to
mean something special to me. Wouldyou marry and fix my hair? And
I said, yeah, I thoughtthis was the hair. No, no,
(41:51):
no, this is this is mygirlfriend, Lisa. She's the first
one I married. And I waslike okay, and I says, just
get me everything I need and I'lldo it. And I did. And
then my girlfriend Diane, who cutscuts and colors my hair, said to
me, I really liked you didwith Lisa. Would you marry me?
And I was like sure, andI did. It was nice. I
(42:13):
like weddings. I would do that. Yeah, yeah, but I'm not
gonna so I'm not doing that.Door no, but you know you might
want to renew youvows. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well I think we
tried to renew it once in Barbadosand then the pandemic hit and they had
like you couldn't go to Speaking aboutthat, I auditioned for John Blenn.
(42:37):
Getting returning to that a little bit. It was before COVID and he had
auditions and we were downstairs and wewere reading, and then then COVID hit.
Was that at the church downstairs? At the church downstairs, and then
COVID hit and and then that wasthat was that. But I would love
to work with him one day.Yes is great, Yes, And he
(42:58):
gave a lot of people an opportunityto write and perform and and you know,
and it would be a whole groupto cast from that you would go
down to the church and and youknow, try to pick who you needed
and and that's you know. Sothat's where I got into directing that and
uh and performing What do you prefer? I don't know. I just like
(43:24):
I just like it all because Ieven like, yeah, I like everything
because you kind of started on stage. Well that's my I always love to
do. That's why I got intoeverything, because I do like to act
and I like comedy, I likedrama. I've done stuff up in Great
Neck where I was a Holocaust uhsurvivor, So that not funny at all.
(43:47):
And so I have done you know, drama, but I you know,
so I always knew that I hadto do something for myself. Write
it. I don't want, youknow, just like I'm telling you that,
that's what we talked about. Yeah, you write your own material and
get out there and do it.I don't care as you perform it.
And you know, you get agroup to come and watch you, or
(44:10):
there's there's always a way if that'swhat you like to do, you get
out there and make it happen.Yeah, yeah, totally, No,
I get it. I get it. It's not easy though. There it's
you know, it's you have somany ideas in your head and you try
to put them. I know,I have so many books, am I
just noe books over note books, just just and I go back and I
(44:34):
try to read them. Throw it. I just don't know. I'm just
writing all over to you have likenaps, you have this piece baby,
because you do have you do have. We're not going to get into it,
but you do have something that isalso a comedy that you that either
you've been writing or you wrote youhave you know, like again you have
I always I have a couple.I have a couple of you always have
something. Yes, I have theItalian Christmas story. Okay, yeah,
(44:59):
anything Italian Christmas storry boy, Ibet you that sounds like Christmas. Yeah?
Is that Christmas Eve? For ChristmasDay? Well, Christmas Eve,
there's somebody to go yeah, ohboy, somebody has the the the maloquee
uh huh on them and they haveto do the whole thing, you know,
with the tea and the prayers andokay, try to get to them,
(45:22):
you know. But but uh,and then there's one I have fill
in his magic pills. Okay.It was based off of my dad who's
a pharmacist, and it actually Iwrote it with with Kevin James in my
head. I wrote it and theyend up going to Atlantic City and I
(45:43):
guess these pills involved. But ohyeah, so yeah, So I mean
there's I always have so many differentthings that I could think of to write.
It's crazy. That's good though,It's good. It's good. It's
good because you have those creative juicesfarming and you want to put them somewhere.
So it's good. Yeah, wow, Oh my gosh. All right,
listen, we're going to take mylast break, but please don't go
(46:04):
away, Millie. When we getback, we're going to talk about what
she's working on now, because sheis working on something, and yeah,
don't go away. I think wehave a couple more pecks too, if
I'm not mistaken. But we'll beback after this. Wonder woman was everything
(46:32):
to little girls, especially that lookedlike me. She stands for being a
voice for people that need a voice. My organization renovates homes for people with
disabilities, and when I come homea self care routine makes me feel my
best. I'm very proud of thedifference that we're making, and to see
(46:52):
that impact in my community inspires meto work even harder for everyone around me.
