But CBE Radio Network. Welcome toTake two with Alexis na your host.

(00:15):
Today, we will be talking withactress and director Stacy Malone, and also
on today's show, I'll be followingthrough with a challenge rangage to me on
my last show, But Stacy Maloneis coming up next. You're listening to
Take two. This is Jessica Lavishwith the Outlaws. We know that racism

(00:36):
still exists in our country, butwhat about slavery? Human trafficking, a
form of modern day slavery, iswhere people profit from the control and exploitation
of others by means of force, fraud, and corrosion. Tragically, no
country, community or individual is immunefrom the vast injustice. Human trafficking is
driven by demand. Instead of contributingto the problem, we can be part

(00:57):
of the solution. If we eliminatethe demand, we eliminate human trafficking.
For more information, follow hashtag demandNo More. Welcome back to Take two
with your host, Alexis Nunn andour guest actress Stacy Malone. How I

(01:21):
am wonderful? How are you?I am great? So can you tell
my audience a little bit about yourselves? Let's see where to start I am
a screenwriter, a producer, director, and a actress. Oh so much,
so much. Oh yeah, yeah, I can't stop, never stop.
And let's see here. I've alreadyhad one show right now that I

(01:45):
got on YouTube right now called TheGreek Chronicles. It was from a few
years ago. That's streaming right now. But then I'm now in production from
my new show, which is nowWhat. And it is a wonderful show.
It's a comedy drama about a womanwho finds out that she's pregnant.
Just completely hilarious. Wow. Andand so she's, you know, really

(02:05):
nervous, but she's gonna tell thefather that night, and she's, oh,
you know, preparing, And thenthe father comes there and unbeknownst to
her, he is coming to breakup with her. But oh wow,
yes he is because he has foundhis old girlfriend on Facebook. That dog
on Facebook, I see Facebook, right, get people caught up and and

(02:27):
he breaks up with her and beforeshe has the chance to tell him that
she's pregnant. So now what isshe gonna do? You got me wondering
myself. Wow, that's sarious.Yeah, it's life. It's it's a
really relatable story. Or it isa comedy coming and you have to wait
and see and look at the show. I most definitely will. She makes

(02:50):
a decision to you know, possiblygo out on dates even though she's pregnant.
Um, so that's comedy ensuing rightthere. So that's pretty much I'm
not gonna give too much. Igonna get you it. Yeah, I
would totally watch that. That seemsso cool and interesting. I want to
know, can you tell the audiencenot just what you do, but where's
your background? Wow? Wow,Um, it's really something I've always done

(03:15):
my whole life without knowing that. It's what I wanted to do, um
ever since I was a little girl. I you know, would you know
how you look at movies and youlike a character, You're like, oh
my god, I want to bethat character in that movie. Well,
I would look at movies and Iwould make my own character and I would
be in the film, and Iknow exactly my backstory, I know where

(03:36):
I fit in. Like my favoritefilm growing up was The Sundlot. Really,
Oh my god, me, meand my mom. You're killing Like,
don't have me recite lines for it, because I'll start like right now
and I'll keep going. I'll dothe whole dag gonna movie right for you.
But anyway, so I had apart where I was gonna be like
the only girl on the team.Oh wow, okay you know the black
boy Brandon, Yes, oh heckyeah, and we was gonna be cool.

(04:00):
I had it all set ready togo, and I was get the
fireworks. I was gonna come outof the dress. Nobody was gonna know
I. I had it ready,y'all. And I would do that with
every movie. It's just my imaginationwould go. Um. And then also
of course my father, my father, uh is an actor as well.
He's a comedian actor. Rufus Malone. Shout out to Rufus Malone. M.

(04:20):
He gave me everything I have andum and yeah, so he would
just my playtime was with the videocamera, you know. In nineteen eighty
seven, he got a video cameraand it was over. We made a
lot of different shows. Uh,my show Too Cool for You, which
was a sort of take on theMickey Mouse Club where we had variety sketches

(04:43):
and we did a music video waslike Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Yeah, well
nose clubs. But like the backin like the nineties, there wasn't Mickey
up Mickey Mouse Club, and thatwas like, that's where justin timber Lake
and Christina, that's where all ofthem got their start. I watched that
show religiously couldn't sing when I watchedthat show. And so my dad would
film anything I wanted to do.Sometimes he would wake me up in the

(05:05):
middle of the night, would anidea and be like, hey, Stacy,
I need to just just to comehere real quick. And I got
an idea and I'd be like, huh, I'm leaving. But you know,
from my art, we came upwith movies, and then it turned
to where I wanted to be adirector. So I used to direct my
barbies. They were awesome. Imean they never talked back to exactly what

(05:27):
I wanted, right, I mean, no, no, no, no,
no. Shade to the people Iwork with, because I worked with
some really great people. Um,but them barbies, like they gave me
one take, the one take theyhad it, you know. So so
that was the next kind of forminto that. It's been an evolution.
So I'm gonna talk a lot,so be ready, everybody. Um.

(05:49):
And then he evolved into you know, just like I said, play things.
And then I got to high school, and I was like, oh,
you know what, I really Istepped out on that stage and I
got a reaction from the crowd andI got an applause. I was a
playing a nun and uh. AndI had to sing the um the song
too, all Beef Patty special souceLegisties. That was a shout all warm

(06:12):
up for CSA are all Beef Pattyspecial sounce right, gonna see but hey,
but we did it like you knowthe old days when they had Aldo
and the Black Chick I don't knowwho she us, but they would do
that and they would have the littleScooby reproduce. We we did that and
the crowd went nuts. And Iwas like, oh heck, yeah,

(06:32):
this me right here, this back. This is what I'm doing for the
rest of my life and um.And then after that, I was like,
okay, well, I'm gonna bean actor. Just gonna be an
actor, no problem. So Igo to become an actor. I go
to Right State University. Shout outto the raiders. Um, I do
the acting program, got into it, and then of course enjoyed school a

(06:54):
little bit too much and got cutbecause you can't fake it there you have
to like really it's really about theircraft. And the kids were in that,
you know, a creative arts centerfrom the morning to night. They
didn't go nowhere. You know.Me, I wanted to be at the
Greek party. I wanted to beback at the quad, you know.
I want to be the basketball games. You know. I want to enjoy
my college experience. I was onlygonna be in college once, and so

(07:15):
I got cut and I'm like, well, what am I gonna do now?
You know? But I had toremember that, you know, you
don't have to go to school tobe an actor. I mean, you
should take classes and you should definitelywork on your craft, but you don't
have to have a degree to bean actor. So then I came back
to Cleveland after I graduated with amass communications major degree. And then after

(07:36):
that I started doing plays like aCaramu and things like that, and I
was like, you know what,Okay, I'm really gonna do this.
I went to Barton in school atnight. I'm giving you the low down
when the bartend skool night was like, Okay, I'm gonna go out to
La I'm gonna be, you know, an actress. I'm a Barten at
night and I'm an act. Well, life got in the way, y'all.

(07:56):
Oh man, don't you hate whenit happened? My baby five?
And that's what happened. Oh wow, it happens to the best of us.
It happens to the best. SoI had a baby and their relationship
did not work, and so nowI'm thinking, Okay, well what am
I gonna do now? Because Igot a baby? This sounds a little
bit like her movie play, Wellnot exactly, I mean, besides,

(08:16):
the only thing similar is that weboth had kids, but the situations are
vastly different. Hum. But thatwas my now what moment? You know,
And I think everyone has a nowwhat moment. That's why I think
the show is going to really resonatewith people, because it's when that unexpected
happens, Well what do you do? It could be a new job,
it can be a relationship, itcould be a baby, you know.

(08:39):
So that's why I think it's goingto really resonate with everyone. So then
after that, I decided said, okay, well I can't go out to
LA. I don't have any familyout there. I can't have this baby
and go out to LA and bean actor. I said, well,
now there's another thing I have toworry about security because I don't have a
kid. So I started thinking,I said, well, you know what,
maybe I should try writing a script. Well, I'm gonna just try.

(09:00):
I used to make up stories andI would sit at high school and
girls would be lyned to. Iwent to all girl high school, Regina
High School. Rest in peace andget your money right, everybody, get
your money right, because I'll shutit down. Yes, And so I
m, you know, I usedto tell stories and it would be basically
a movie, but I would havejust all the girls lound up and just

(09:22):
into the story. And so Ithought about that, and I'm like,
well, let me just try one. So I wrote a script and I
put it out and at won anaward at the indie gathering and I was
like, oh, we'll should Igets them pretty good at this. All
right, Well, let me trywriting in another one. I said,
Okay, let's go a little further. So I'm going to um, let
me try actually writing something, andthen let's take it to the next level

(09:43):
and actually producing it. M Ididn't want to act in it because I
just wanted to my first time out, just try it. I'm the type
of person where I'm just gonna doit. Yeah, you know what I'm
saying, like, there's there's Myphilosophy is that nobody can stand in your
way, but you M I cantell you no, they can. You
know all you you just have tofind another way. That's all you have
to do. So I go,Okay, Well, if I can write,

(10:07):
direct, produce everything, I'm alwayshave a job. I ain't got
to depend on nobody to give meno acting job because I'm gonna make my
own and I'm gonna get the money. That's a that's a big thing because
I wants the money because I needit. I feel like everyone wants the
money, right right, I'm justsaying, so I don't. I just
need that security. And so thatwas the biggest, biggest draw to me

(10:28):
being able to take my career inmy hands. Um so yeah, so
that's basically how I got to whereI am. In a nutshell, yeah,
all in a nutshell. So Ijust want to say thank you,
first of all, my mentor righthere for bringing me an actress. Yeah,
I got I want to Cleveland Schoolart okay, and I have a

(10:50):
lot of friends actually in Greek Chronicles. I had a lot of people from
that went there, Um, KyleCarthon and Feliah Thomas and uh T Shat
Wilson and there, so there's alot of people. I was a vocal
major with Doctor Wood's dying to bein Doctor Miller's. I wanted to double
major, but my senior year theytook double major away, which was a

(11:11):
rumor. That's sad, but Istill got to act. I've been acting
since I was a little girl.So for me, it's life just like
it is. Girl. Tell methe first real My question for you is
can you give our listeners some advicenot to give up? Oh no,
never give up, because it's neverover until you until you stop breathing,

(11:33):

(11:54):
I grab I write from people,so if I meet you and I
get to know you. I mightwrite apart for you. Some of the
people who are starting in this show, I wrote it for them specifically because
I love the way they act,and I loved meeting them and knew they

what happened here is I got alittle too big and whatever, and
I can't feel them no more.I wanted to keep them forever, but
you see that can't happen. I'mgonna throw those away last though, and
this is another pair. I've onlyworn them three times. They were cool
