(00:35):
right, guys, we are herewith another episode of Talk with Teddy.
I'm so glad that everybody's here.It's a Tuesday night. It's actually beautiful
here and actually Finger Lakes in NewYork, and it's a beautiful, beautiful
night. I was expecting rain, but no rain. Saw. I'm happy.
We have rain yesterday and the daybefore, so no more rain.
Let's just have some nice weather tonight, guys. I want to start this

(00:58):
out with a a bit of news. I found out this afternoon, Hello,
Nick, I found this afternoon thatthe Gettysburg Battlefield bashed that we were
all going to that was supposed tobe on the twenty four, twenty fifth,
and twenty sixth is canceled. Itwas canceled today because of COVID cases

(01:21):
spiking in that area. So theydid cancel it, and it's a shame.
But you know, some of usare still going to go down to
visit friends and hang out. Soif you've made plans to go there,
feel free to come out and hangout with us. Anyways, we're going
to the battlefield and just have alittle bit of fun. But that's enough
about that. Right now, wehave another musician, another singer songwriter.

(01:45):
You guys know how I love thisstuff. When we get these people on
here that have a gift. Somewould say a gift from God, others
would say a gift from their motheror their father. Usually the parents argue
where it comes from either way.But you know, it's just going to
be a fun night. So letme introduce you guys to mister Jordan.
Daniels said, Hello, Jordan,I'm doing well in yourself. Ah.

(02:12):
That pleasure is mine, man, pleasure is mine. That's wonderful news.
Nixt So maybe you can make itnext next, next year. All right,
So you guys know what we're gonnado here. We're gonna talk with
Jordan. We're gonna play a littlebit of his music. He's gonna play
a little bit of his music foryou. We're gonna chat, so make
sure you have questions. Um,I'm gonna start a watch party here as

(02:35):
well, so we're gonna have morethan just four outlets on video, we'll
end up with five, and ofcourse the normal nine audio outlets as well.
So we're just gonna have ourselves agood time tonight and relax and have
fun, you know. So.But I'm gonna read a little bit here
of the bile that this young manhas sent me. Actually I found out

(02:59):
about his website a few minutes agotoo, um, which he probably sent
to me, and I just somehowmissed that. Who knows. Um,
But this gentleman here is popular.Um, he's he's got some some music
that's gonna sound very familiar. Um. The reason for that is because we've

(03:20):
had a couple other guests that they'reall about the same type or genre of
music, which to me is veryvery cool. UM, because you know
me, I like pretty much everything. So UM, I think we're waiting
for technology. We know, weknow how that is as well here folks,
And I apologize, UM, solet's get right into this technology co

(03:51):
figures. I seets don't feel bad, Jordan. I know that you have
problem with technology too, and andand so do I. It just doesn't
always work to the way it's supposedto for us. Oh what is that?
Hold on? Wow? Massive feedbackthere for a second. All right,

(04:16):
so let's get down to his bio. Sorry about that, Jordan,
all right. So m Jordan Danielson, an in demand singer songwriter who hails
from Davenport, Iowa, by wayof Denver, Colorado. Which is really
cool because I used to live fiftymiles west of Denver. I lived in

(04:38):
a little place called Deer Trail,Colorado. But that's enough about me.
He is steadily making a name forhimself. In demand is not an overstatement,
playing five to six nights a week, wow, and in the Quad
Cities area and stretching as far asChicago and Omaha. Jordan came to music

(04:59):
and especially songwriting quite organically, happeningmost simultaneously. At fourteen, he got
his first guitar, and soon ashe learned his first three chords, he
wrote his first song. Now twohours later, he's expanding his horizons on
a regional and national level. Sothat is freaking awesome. I love I

(05:23):
loved your bio, and I onlygot through the one paragraph and it was
already kind of fun. So I'mgood with that. So I love the
big words, you know, organicand spont simultaneously. That's what it was.
So, um, really cool.Okay, So he might have to

(05:55):
get a little bit closer to him, Mike, because they're having a hard
time here in the other day agoperfect. Um, So let's talk about
this. So fourteen years old iswhen you got your first guitar. Yeah,
that's that's when I started playing it. Actually, okay, a couple
of years before that. It wasken'stant Let the Guitar and it's set in
my classic for a little while, and then I was asking my parents a

(06:18):
guitar lesson, as they said, when your grades get better. Oh the
parents, you know parents, Soum, Hi Tom, Hi Nick,
and Hi Ted. All right,I don't know who that is, but

(06:41):
they're on my page, so itbetter be you, Cindy or Robert.
Oh my goodness. So who's themagical or the musical one in your family?
Mom? Dad? Um, youknow what, I'm really the most
musical person in my family, tobe honest. My dad was really in
the synagogue and he's the only oneI know on that side. Of my

(07:04):
family, So that's kind of amysteries on that side. But nobody on
my either side of my family ormusicians. They're all hunters and fishermen and
mechanics and so I put on themarket. But we're all good, big
music fans. And my asking that'sawesome. What what was their type of

(07:25):
music growing up? Oh? Youknow, and junior high man, I
was all into like Christian death metaland brash wow and everything. And then
it was the ninetiese know, um, so it was grunge and all that
stuff came out, as well asthe nineties two pop, which I kind
of broken inner city school, sowe listened to a lot of that stuff.

(07:46):
And then when I found a potDylion and be in your Syne,
good stuff. Jus my parents citycollection mustered biving in two best mystery write
music when into then I also studiedjazz later on in college. So I've
just got so many different influences justtogether. I just pretty much called myself.

(08:07):
I called my music just songs thatI would have music. If you
don't mind me asking how how youngof a guy are you, I'm forty,
Oh, okay, you don't lookforty, by the way. Um
so I was gonna put you inthe thirties anyways. So um, so

(08:28):
you should have said thirty five andyou would have been fine. You would
have been right there. Um.But no, that's cool. I mean
people are still you know in themusic business. Um. I found lately
it's kind of you know, backin the day, they were looking for
the young people with the certain lookand all that other stuff, but today
not so much. They're looking forthe talent. I mean Chris Stapleton for

(08:52):
the country genre, um and bluesand soul and everything else that guy does.
He's amazing. Um. He wasn'ta young buck you know, and
got signed and now I'm making millionsof dollars these days. So don't ever
give up, buddy. If that'swhat you're looking for, well, I
really can't do anything else. Yeah, well, well you have no skills.

(09:18):
Well I got skills, but Ihaven't doing this episode. I'm gonna
make a million listens thanks twenty five. Hey, then don't give it up,
man, I've listened to your stuff, um, and I you definitely
have talent. Brother, you area gifted individual. You are welcome,

(09:39):
UM Robert Hello at time, UMmc Nichols, Hello, Nick, um
mulay Hello, and I gotta getthis watch party started here in just a
second. Um. But yeah,I this is this is gonna be fun
tonight because I I like talking todifferent musicians, um, and you know

(10:00):
how they got where they are todayand where they're going. I have been
a musician myself. I just retiredafter thirty years, and I love music.
You know, the body just saidcan't do it no more. The
knees actually said I can't do itno more. So the knees are what
killed me. And I understand loadingin and loading out and set up and

(10:24):
tear down, and you know allthat stuff. And there's a lot of
work. Whether you're well, ifyou're a single musician with your own soundboard
and a little speakers and stuff likethat, when you go to do like
afternoon gigs or whatever, that's nottoo bad. But if you're doing a
full band, a lot of work, guys, lots and lots of work.
So let's get let's get a littlebit further here. So now fourteen,

(10:48):
learn how play guitar wrote your firstsong? Do you remember your first
song? Really? Really? That'scool, that's cool. What were your
first three A chords see awesome.See I've asked other musicians that and they're

(11:09):
like, I don't remember. Howam I supposed to remember that stuff?
I think they're probably, well,I'm glad you remember because that's that's a
rarity. Just so you know. That's cool. Um. So you talked
about the type of music that yougrew up with and stuff like that.

(11:31):
What would you classify yourself today?I would say have American Americana. That's
cool. I live in Ireland,so dream m hmm. You finally said
forget it. I'm not gonna fightit no more. Whatever you want,

(11:54):
as long as you're like flight barsand every day going to play in a
region, music in the bars it'svery difficult. Um, most bars,
even in New York. It's thesame way everywhere. Um. I know
because we toured the East Coast. But when you get into a bar,

(12:16):
they want to hear cover tunes thatyour dancers do, and but you can
usually slide one or two originals ina set, you know, um,
and then eventually people will get usedto it, and then you'll say,
hey, you know, you guyshave a good time, let's play another
one of mine, or you justsneak it in there, don't even tell
it, tell them that it's oneof yours, and they'll be jamming away

(12:39):
with it anyway. So, butyes, it's very tough to play your
own stuff. Um, stupid songs. You know what about one about tacos?
People love it? Tacos, butpeople love it. You're killing me

(13:01):
small as tacos. God, that'sfunny. Hey, but there's weirder songs
out there. Achy, breaky Heart, I mean con you know, I
mean it made millions, you know. Um, that's that's funny though,
that is hysterical. So bars andclubs and so if you had the opportunity

(13:24):
to open up for any big namesor anything like that, gets yourself some
showcasing, awesome, awesome reason. The guy that plays with bas oh blah
blah blah blah blah blah. Ohshit, I would have to look him

(13:45):
up. That I that's it Reynolds. Yes, oh god, we sound
more like each other. Oh,there's a lot of you know, some
of my best stories, um,of of my time, especially in the
music as as the is the bands, like the backline people, I mean,

(14:11):
when you get to know them andtheir stories and and and the goofy
things that happen, you know, and a lot of them are are goofy
guys. Man, They're they're definitelygoofy. And someday we'll have to I'll
have to write my own little memoirsfrom being on the road. It was
a lot of fun. Um,there we go, trying to get this

(14:33):
watch party going. Finally, Jesustechnology man, I'm telling you you're not
the only one me too. Umdoesn't always work, but so far,
so good. Let's not win aI need some wood? There we go.
Um, there you go, yougot some wood right there in your

(14:58):
lap. So that didn't sound good. I'm sorry, folks, I didn't
mean that. It didn't sound good. Totally totally never mind, totally bad
teddy. Um it might be Ijust can't believe. Maybe I guess I
don't know, Jesus. Um.So let's move on. So uh bars

(15:20):
club stuff like that. You've openedup for something from for some national acts.
Um you let's talk about the albums. Let's talk about writing. So
um influencing for writing, where doyou think that comes from? My first
album took me three years to atthat time for seven rights mho. On

(16:07):
the second album, about three yearsrefard to this is why I'm said glad,
because it takes you so long todo an album right, and it
just takes all right, I'll getit. But that was I live back
definitely right. What so, yeah, I like the whole Americana country feel.

(16:42):
I get that. Um. So, like, on your downtime,
what do you listen to that mightinfluence that though? You know what I
mean? What what who are youlistening to? Pfnounce pfounce. H No,
but that's a great name, Johncraigy babies cool, cool, all

(17:15):
the people that whody else is aShazam another Shazam off the movies. He
Shazam's off the movies. Nice?Nice? Um, you know that's cool.
Um, I know, Um,I was thinking like, like who

(17:37):
am I thinking of? Like,uh, who's like kind? I can't
think of the guy's name now,Um, I'm drawn a blank. All
right, skip that question then,um moving on? Oh my goodness,

(17:57):
Um, jazz is good. Jazzpeople Facebook joining all these Facebook grips all
in the country. Mm hmm, well shoosten my post ship. Yeah,

(18:33):
but you have to, you know, you have to. Yeah, nobody,
nobody else is gonna do it.You gotta do it yourself, man,
nobody else is gonna do it.Um, that's that's one of those
tricks that I learned a long longtime ago. And I actually I worked
for a production company that actually wentout and did the work. We used

(18:56):
to go and try and get bandshired and all that stuff for a while,
and I was just like, youknow what, Um, I'm in
a band and I really need towork at my own ship. So UM,
I just took what I learned andstarted doing my own stuff from my
own band. Um that I playedwith, I shouldn't say my band our
band, and UM, we justwe did our own posters, did our

(19:21):
own legwork. We talked to produceror promoters, we talked to club owners,
we talked to all that stuff, just to to make our own deal.
And I think that's that's the bestway. Plus, you know that
that old fashioned saying, um we'reto mouth it still does work, you
know, it really does. It'sgot the usually when I didn Oh wow,

(20:06):
all right, guys, So thisis where you're gonna be able to
check out his stuff. He hasa Facebook page. Um, we're just
called Jordan Danielson fan page. Um, so, but I like the page,
I believe, so you guys canprobably find it on my stuff as
well. Um, but his regularwebsite is here, Jordan Danielson music dot

(20:29):
com, so you can go thereas well and check that out. And
I don't know, read it ifhe's got music up there, by his
music. That's what we do here, folks. We promote each other.
We we promote these guys. Wewe love their music. Remember, I
gotta find a way to hypnotize youguys in the chat room. Bye the

(20:51):
music, Bye the music. SoI guess that was a little silly,
but hey, it was fun whileit lasted. Yeah. Actually, yeah,
no, they do, and Idid. I just bought every single
ACDC song ever written. Yeah yeah, um, just MP three's and I

(21:18):
bought him and I put them allon disc and I can have him in
my truck. I have a sixCD changer in there, and I just
put them all on the CDs andthere you go, you know. So,
um, yeah, it's uh,some people still buy stuff like that.
I always tell people we had acouple other musicians on here. People

(21:41):
went and bought their books, theirsongs, so yeah, oh yeah,
So Brian Wilson Hello, Mike Clark, Ellie, Hello Allie, love you
girl. Nathan Gaylor and Lee Allenthe second Lisa Hagadorn, m Robert White.
Um, we are getting them inhere so slowly but surely. Um,
but we're getting I wonder where thatline came from. There's another silly

(22:03):
song for you. Slowly but surely, never know, right, So I'm
trying to get your Um, we'llget this working over here. I'm getting
that set on the tablet so wecan actually play a couple of your tunes.

(22:26):
Um. Finally, I like that. That the title of the one
Old one album, the Old Soul. I love that, you know.
So, now who did the designand stuff for your albums? Olson?

(22:47):
That is you know I always wantscool. Yeah, I'm gonna be doing

(23:11):
that next weekend, just driving ontaking pictures in Gettysburg. Um. It's
okay. So you have two albums, right, and they're both available right.
Um one is one is called OldSoul and the other one is called
Night Alone in the City. Dothey get that right? Look at that?
So far so good? Fingers crossed. Oh he's knocking on the wood

(23:34):
again, all right, So,um, he sent me some songs,
but I decided to go right tohis YouTube page and just look at the
stuff that he had. So,um, quite a few songs on here
and Father of the Water. Thatone looks interesting. So it's too long,

(23:59):
so it's about the Mississipon movie BeautifulGoods data. Once Peterson and we
kind of had this a couple ofmonths where we got to get there again.
We just write to you to night. Name of the song just h

(24:22):
mm hmm. The next thing I'mabout to put out moments cool? Do
you mind if I position? He'sjust kind of he's a writer in nactor,
so hey, why not? So? Um, this one is if
this one is actually the in studioedit though? Is that still good?

(24:44):
So? Can I play it?Cool? Let's play It's like, let's
do it. H and good toplay her? H. Father of Water,

(25:26):
roll on down the line never ceasedto be since they're great cold and
nine nine they were trumpets some water, the steamboats and the night despite their
minds to Greeks and his hand right, Oh, Father of Water, Roll

(25:57):
on down the line, Roll ondown the line. He was bombed,
they tasting by ben bis War.He carried my great grandfather off the Civil

(26:18):
War down to the dead zone ofthe delta, twists like a snake breath
the mountain minute. Then he tookall it wanted. Take oh a father

(26:40):
of water, roll on out ofthe line, roll on down the line.

(27:34):
But I say, just lo Godlike theo Jiboy game mistake. He's
paid the money man. This ishe bears the scars, white and shape.
You know. It passed around bymy back door. Ever since I

(27:55):
was a boy, I never wonderedwhen I can't as he rolled on bastill,
Oh by the water, roll ondown the line. Oh yeah,

(28:18):
I said, oh, by thewater, roll on down the line,
Roll on down the line, Rollon down the line, hold on down,

(28:47):
sweet. I like that. It'sall right, mantion on. That
song is straight from Wikipedia. It'sall about the Mississippi. Let's like,
let's find as many facts. Chrispy, just Chrispy man, it's Chrispy all

(29:07):
right, Okay, yeah, Ireally like that. That was it's catchy.
You know, did it sound allright on your end or what?
Was it funky? I was tryingto figure that out here was it?
Okay? Yeah? It sound aright? Okay, all right, I

(29:30):
don't want to mess with it toomuch as long as it sounds okay,
yeah, yeah exactly. Of course, my fans probably here don't help either
in the background, but it shouldbe okay. I don't think they're picking
that up, but we'll see,all right. So I gotta hate the

(29:53):
son of my own voice. Um, so let's talk about Um. So
that was just kind of just asong. You guys sat down and wrote
together just for fun. Is thathow that happened? Or? I mean
yeah, I mean, you knowit's more than just fun. Let's be
an artistic in mo mean, butbut more than anything, Yeah, just

(30:15):
spending time together that We were alwayscreative, you know, ever since I've
known him. So, um,what else are we gonna do? You
know what I mean? Come on, let's write some music because I have
a hard time just hanging out.Man, I've kind of like gotta be
doing something, so right, Yeah, cool, cool, all right.
So my volume of me had droppeda little bit, but I'm just trying

(30:37):
to get a little bit of thestatic out of here, so on my
end at least, so hopefully youcan still hear me. Okay, yeah,
you're a little quieter though a littlequieter yeah, well sor right,
that's okay. Some people would likethat because I have a big mouth.
That's okay. We'll see what happensdown the road, all right. So

(31:03):
let's see what else do we havehere. So you sent me three songs,
and if I can get back tothem, most of them were all
on the new one though, correct, Hi, and welcome to dot com

(31:25):
your royalty. Actually, damn,I hate that thing. That's the only
problem with YouTube. YouTube just oh, I see that was the ad.
Yes, you can't shut it offonce it starts. It takes a lot
to do. Okay. Kevin's andwhen you were playing his tunes, it
would shut off. And he saidthat maybe it was BA Myers. Actually

(31:48):
it was it was Facebook, theysaid. They said that it was um
possibly copywritten music. But I waseven this little thing down at the bottom
like I should have been doing onyour first song, saying that the music
was written by the person that we'retalking with as a guest. So I

(32:08):
have a complaint into them, actually, so I'm waiting for them to get
back to me so that they canfix the audio on these things, because
they're the ones that blocked it out. Okay, So he said something like
that, happened. So that's whyI sent you the YouTube. Maybe it
would help. Yeah, that's itwas from either from either way, either

(32:30):
either thing. I mean, Ihad Eric van Outen on here and from
Nashville, and they did that totwo or three year songs do so yeah,
and he wrote the songs too.So I don't know what else to
do except running this little thing atthe bottom and you know, just writing
them and complaining because there's not awhole lot other I can do about it,

(32:52):
you know. So Okay, Sowhat was one of the other songs
that you Let's see one of themare nine. Yeah, that was the
first one I sent. Yeah, that one is the first one that I
put a horn section on. Um. Yeah, I like that song actually,

(33:15):
and that was on the new album. Correct, that was on the
first one. I don't see it, huh. Yeah. I wrote those
horn lines with the guy named EdgarCrockett, doctor Edgar Crockett, and he
was my instructor in college, andso I took a private study with him

(33:38):
and we sat down and wrote thesehorn lines out, and then we went
into the studio and had some otherguys in the jazz band come in and
lay down those tracks, and andEdgar's played with the Smothers brothers, He's
played oh Man, Ray Charles,He's played with so many different people.
He's amazing. So who's really luckyto be able to learn so much from

(34:00):
him? And then Um, Iwas in the jazz band for about three
or four semesters and I played bassfor a couple of semesters, played drumas
for a couple of semesters. So, um, a lot of learning stuff
there and which really helps with thesongwriting. Yeah, I have I have
a gentleman right now telling me that. Well, Eric, he's a part
of the network and my group thatI work with. He says that he

(34:24):
doesn't know why they keep muting thefeeds, and that's that's what it sounds
like they're doing. So I'm justwondering if they did that. Well,
no, I don't know. Idon't know if they muted that one,
that first one we just did.Um, I'm hoping not because if they
did, it'd be I don't wantto keep playing you know this, and

(34:45):
they're gonna keep muting it because Iknow they're not doing it with the acoustic
guitar while the people are playing,They're only doing it when we're playing them
off the recordings. Well, Ican play them. That's cool. I
can do that. Yeah, youknow, people just watching us sit here
and sway back and forth. Probably, Hey, we're in our own world.

(35:09):
Uh yeah, so yeah, soyeah you sent me, Yeah,
summer of ninety nine, so Ido have it. So let me see
what Eric says. So, Eric, did they mute that one or not?
I need to know because if theydidn't, Okay, there's even anybody

(35:39):
working in things, but it's gotto be an automatic thing or something.
Yeah, you know, it probablyis. It's probably just a little robot
sitting in a corner doing things likea mile million my stuff. Man.
Hey, I'm trying, man,I'm trying trying to help here. They're

(36:04):
fine during the feeds, then whenthey go to replay they mute them.
Well, so then we're gonna dothis. Then I'll just play for you
guys, and hopefully it'll sound good. We get this through the Bixer tonight,
hopefully. Yeah, why don't wedo that? Why don't we do
that? All right, We're justgonna do it live. Yeah, find

(36:28):
a way to promote you, misterJordan. We'll do it this way if
we have to do it, andhell yeah, let's just do it that
way. I'm good with it,all right. So all right, Eric,
thank you. I appreciate your helpthere, buddy, thank you.
So why don't you tell me whatyou're gonna play next then and when it's

(36:51):
all about and how you made thathappen, and we'll go into it.
Okay, This next tune is mynext single, and I've been working hard
in the studio recording this and alsoediting the video, cutting a bunch of
takes and um so I'm gonna releasethis as a single out on Apple Music
and Spotify and all that jazz cool. So this is a song about being

(37:15):
single, which I'm not single now, but it was when I wrote it,
and I know that feeling sound allright. I'm gonna called the in
between filled back into an old dudetea. I got caught up in the

(37:53):
in between. I'm always run away, running back with way too fast for
my own good and ties by thenight, just to wind up somewhere lonely
cold and strange, striking o lilyin pursuit of change. I'm always looking

(38:16):
back, looking past the backward glancefor a second chance. At what I
want, what I had before. You know, I fought so hard just
to get this far, just tobe another face and a smokey fall.
I've been led a stray by myfoolidreams. I'm always blinded by the unforeseen.

(38:43):
Here i am again in between, lot of drumming, a feelings that

(39:06):
I can't explain figure to myself thatI need refrain. I'm always rolling the
nights, taking bad advice. Thoughin all of that caution to the way,
through the blinds of my mind,I can see them all stacked up
like domino. One falls down inthe next one goes. I'm always playing

(39:35):
the game. It always ends thesame. It's always me to blame my
stack him up and I knock himback down again. You know, I'm
fought so hard just to get thisfall, just being on the fast and
a smoking he fall. I've ben'tlet us strain by my fool is trains.

(39:57):
I'm always blinding by the un singhere I am getting in between.

(40:21):
I'm always broad and looking, rollingplaying. The weight on my shoulders is
the price that I'm paying. I'malways broading and looking, playing and rolling,
always second guessing the one that Iam holding. I'm always broad looking

(40:44):
rolling playing this weight on the shouldersprice that I'm paying, I'm always broad
and looking playing rolling the You havegot a really great voice, man,

(41:10):
really longing awesome. Yeah, Ilike this better than listening to that right
now, because you just sound reallygood right here in my ears. I

(41:30):
don't know how it sounds everybody else, but it sounds really good here.
Um. I was tweaking it asyou were playing. I'm like, oh,
yeah, this sounds awesome. Itsucks if those guys can't hear it
like I can. We'll see whatit's over. Man, Man, that
was an awesome live feed. Andthen I listened to it. It's like,
yeah, and then it sucks.Well I'm doing my best, buddy,

(41:52):
doing my best. Um so yeah, because the guys didn't. The
guys in here did say that itwas that they could barely hear us.
So I changed a couple of thingswhile you were playing, and hopefully it
brought it up some. So hopefullyit'll work better now. And we've had
a lot of people joining us hereas we're going along. Nathan Geller,

(42:14):
Lee Allen. Second, we alreadydid that, Barry Marks Nick He lays
over here as well. You're ontwo feeds. What's up on that?
Bryan Storm, Richard Storm, RonRob Hernandez Grant Gasking, Keith Hearing,
Ted Martin and Renee Phillips over hereas well, and then Eric and everybody
that's been over here already. SoI'm hoping they hear us, all right,

(42:37):
because Nick, you guys didn't comeback and tell me it's sounding better,
so let's hope it does. Ineed to no need to know,
so all right? So um younow, I gotta get back to the
questions here. But you write alot by yourself? Or do you usually

(42:57):
reach out and you have friends thatyou're write with or say? Is it
pretty much just you? Most ofthe time it's just me? Um?
Yeah? Is Dana is the onlyperson I've ever written with, to be
honest, um, and uh,we've written maybe four or five tunes together
and the rest of open solo tunesI've written. So cool. It's tough,
you know, but at least you'rewhen you're writing it, you know

(43:20):
what you want and you don't haveto argue with anybody else exactly, you
know. So I think sometimes thereason why we work so good because he's
he backs down easy. I'm like, but he keeps. It's like,
well, we'll both come up withan idea and then then he'll be like,
well what about this? And thenI'm like, well that's cool,
but what about this that reminds meof this? And but we work off

(43:43):
each other really well, let's seethat's great, that's great. Um,
so yeah, Nick, he's he'ssaying that he can hear about her.
That's great when you're singing this whatI really wanted to know, So Nick,
when you're when when he's singing, just do me a favor and just
let me know what it sounds likeout there for you guys, if you

(44:04):
wouldn't mind, just that would bethat would be very very helpful. Thank
you very much. So the mostof your like ideas just come from everywhere.
Because you mentioned a song about tacos, and I've got to ask why
where did that come from? Andyeah, just yeah, there had to
be something behind it. Did youjust want to be goofy and you just

(44:28):
wanted to test it out and seeif people would listen to anything, or
I mean, I get that tacobar. It's called the Taco Bar,
and it came out because my fiancewas going to the taco bar, and
I was pissed off because she didn'tbring me to the taco bar. And
I'm like, wow, there needsto be a song about a taco bar.
And so I went with it becauseat the time, you know,

(44:49):
I was we just need funny, goofy songs that are in the moment at
the bar, you know what Imean. It's like, right, like
that song that I just played you, it's not bar. It might at
the right time, but I'll playthe taco song. Is that sure?
Sure we are gonna We're gonna heara taco song. And he's got a

(45:12):
harmonica. Awesome. I just Ijust think it was awesome that you wrote
a song about a taco mar andI just and I love tacos and nothing
against it. I think it's gonnamake a nine dollarsy. I think it
will too if it's you know,it's taco, but it is Taco Tuesday.

(45:42):
Nick said, h ten more minutesof it here anyways, Yeah,

(46:07):
will come on everybody. Lists werejump in the cup and driving downtown to
the tacle bar while I'm feeling natsand spicy, am I gotta go and
get myself some saucer chips, sowell, I know you think I'm lying
every time that I say for meand Teddy tackles almost every day and saying
and give me the quat sticking ontop of jumping the car. So you

(46:30):
can driving downtown to the tackle totackle bar. You know the Teddy lights
of saucer so hot spot for me. You're more inclined to go for moderate
bi. But we both be diggingchicken and it's so good and the grip
when now we're going to chat aboutthe ultimate thrill. You know I'm talking

(46:52):
about tequila. Hey, there's athought. This part is getting started.
Tell me water and saying and giveme a shot of ers. I jump
in the car. We can drivingdowntown to the tackle barb I do the
taco bar. You know what Dicksonmatch a lots Butt's been along time since

(47:22):
I had one, really had yeah, mistake the heapers. It's a really
good ideal of time. So yeah, I may be born advertiser. We
can have a small bread of nightshow and then please won't you get me
three corn totees with Blani and somecheese and clantro. So I like a

(47:45):
ted every time and in a carmon. Everybody list could jump in the
com and driving downtown to the Tacklebar. While I'm feeling nats and spicy,
I'm up for the trip. Igotta go and get myself some sauce
and chips. What I know youthink I'm like? I don't. Every
time that I'm saying the mean Tannytapers almost Samburan day, saying to keep
giving the quite, sticking on top, jumping the men driving downtown to the

(48:09):
Tackle, to the Tapo. TheCooper Ridger, the Cooper Bridger, uhum,

(48:30):
the Coop Bridger. Kitty Cher toohot for my belly. Man,
I just can't do the ship.I'm the Cooper Bridger, the Cooper ride
Shop. I probably shouldn't sing aboutmotes. Swallow's a pandemic going on.
Look Whop you bride, Look CooperBye. Oh that's a million dollars right

(49:01):
there. That is freaking awesome. You gotta do that. That song's gotta
go somewhere. We gotta do somethingof that song. That song is just
so much fun. I love it. It's just we'll record it, man,
get it out there. That songis gonna make you a million bucks.

(49:22):
It's better I'm gonna do this thisin between tune, and then I've
got another tune that I wrote. It's called work clothes. It's gonna stun.
I'm gonna do a serious one.And then I'm gonna do the time.
So I'm gonna look at a stackroom. Want to do a serious
tune. Then one distubis. Shit, they're gonna actu a song. I
get it, I get it,I got it. But you know,

(49:43):
but you gotta have one of thoseyou know what, what do they call
those? They call those a moneyso okay, well just call it a
money so musician. That's awesome.Song doesn't matter this week, just play

(50:05):
just play the money song. Uh, Cassie, Hello, Cassie switched.
I think you just missed a reallygood tune that you would have loved.
Wait till he records it. Thenyou can buy it and play it all
over the place. That's awesome. It's a Taco Tuesday song. Now it's
got another another name on my YouTubegeneral. Oh awesome. There you go.

(50:30):
You can go right to his YouTubepage. Um, it's right there
on the front and the big Red. Can't miss the Big Red. It's
trade in there. Yeah, thereyou go. Page oh yeah, so
yeah, so just look up JordanDanielson YouTube, just that, just put

(50:52):
in his name. That's what Idid. Easy to find, easy peasy,
there you go. All right. So oh um, as music goes,
man, I like the way you'reright, you know, um you
think twice that and every song isdifferent. That's that's a cool thing about

(51:15):
doing the singles as I can jazz. We might decide heavy, right,
not just promoting in different places, but can you sing it? It's heavy
metal? You could do it?There you go. It's from working at
five or six nights a week, playing in clubs, that's what does.

(51:37):
It strengthens those vocal chords. Man, my voice is definitely a lot of
stormer than it was fifteen. Mmhmmm. Well and you had facial hair
from the first album, so youdon't look like you got a baby face,
so it's better now. Yeah. You're welcome. You're welcome. So

(51:59):
all right, so let's talk aboutum, you know, we we we've
been covering all over the place.I actually been jumping all over the place,
um, which is okay because Ilike the music and you're really easy
to talk to. Um, it'sgreat. Now, Hopes and dreams is
it? What is your hopes anddreams here? I mean, you want
to make it big? Do youjust want to sell some records? You

(52:21):
want to get a label? Whatare you looking for? Yeah, I
want to do all that stuff.I just want to do all those Okay,
he's here till Thursday. Check outthe veal. I can tell you
that it gets better every year.Yeah, bigs every year, my money
every year. The thing is is, I haven't always been pushing my own

(52:45):
reaching and stuff because you want toget out of d mm hm m hm.
This COVID thing really kind of pickso, you know, in twenty
fourteens so loud, so I've beenslapping. But on the upside of things,
I don't think I was ready torecord a lot of these tunes.
Better. I know I have alot I tunes, don't, so that's

(53:15):
a lot of songs. I alsolike to record some pepper tunes too.
I think it helped to get down, you know, the same way in
a boat bar that might there aresome people into you know, the place
that the people know. I'm alwaysthinking of some kind of scheme, some
kind of yeah, um, nicka, he says, what and that's on

(53:40):
your Unfortunately, I've got you peggedhere. He said that when you're talking,
it's really hard to hear you,but when you're playing, you're good.
So um, there you go,there you go, just pretended your
taco. There you go. Soyeah, so okay, better, Um
so we discut. Let's see wewent through there. Um, now you

(54:06):
say you got you've got a girlfriend, fiance or you're married. What's what's
what's here? What's going on?Fiance? There you go? Perfect?
What does she think of your music? Did she love it? Oh?
You know, when you live withit day in and day out, it's
you know, it's just kind ofan annoying son. He's fifteen too,
and he doesn't want to hear it. He doesn't want to be my gags

(54:29):
that you know how many times he'sheard be in between when I'm editing videos,
and it's usually just like the chorusor more again like yeah yeah.
And he's probably into something else too, you know. So it's not cool,
it's not hip, you know,it's one of those things. Yeah,
he wants to be a you too. Really well, there's a lot

(54:51):
of money in that stuff, thereis, you know, at first,
you know, I did what mymy parents probably killing me. You're not
gonna make a living playing music, you know, I mean, just do
something else. But you know it'slike who knows. You know, here's
here's the best here's the best answerI can give you with all that.
If it's if it's you're pay ifit's you're paying your bills, if it's

(55:12):
giving you the money that you needto survive, you got what you need
to be happy, then what elseis there? Exactly? And you know,
honestly, if I didn't go anyfurther than this, it'd still be
happy because I do know a love. Yeah, yeah, and that's that's
what That's what counts. Like youknow, I was telling you that I
retire, Well, you know,it's it's great to sing, it's great

(55:32):
to be able to write music. It's great to be able to get out
there and perform um. But there'sother things that happen, like you get
older and for me Um in fact, the guy that um, the bass
player, he understands too. Imean when you're loading and unloading like heavy
equipment, because we're providing our ownsound. I mean we have to have

(55:54):
you know, pull those things around, lift them and put them down and
all that suff I mean, I'mfifty three years old. I'm sorry.
It gets It does wear on yourbody after time, you know, time
to time. We were playing threefour nights a week as well, and
it's like, you know, youjust you can't keep doing the same thing
over and over because eventually your bodysays, hey, hire some punk to

(56:15):
lift your ship or quit. That'sanother reason why I'm recording these tunes.
Hopefully it'll give me to where Ican get some roadies. Man. See,
yeah, my vehicle, man, there's so much crap in my vehicle
and I'm a glutton for punishment becauseI just started using actually the kick drum
and the high hat whey playing,so I'm doing five different things at once,

(56:37):
but it's all the more stuff forme to haul. And it's like
I scare people as they're caring.I can't tell you how many times I've
heard of man, I've got alot of stuff. Yeah, yeah,
just entertain myself than anybody else.See the one man band there, That's
that's what's happening to you. That'swhat's happening. Although I don't necessarily know

(56:59):
if I like you about as muchas I like being called Yeah, Well,
I get it. I got it. But you know you're you exactly
Hey, it is what it is, exactly what you said. Um,
these these gigs that that you know. Unfortunately, that's the only way to

(57:22):
get your music out there and tocontinue to do what you love is by
doing all that, um, haulingyour own equipment, doing the setup,
the tear down and and everything else. And and I know what it's like
to open up and and to abar and you get in there and you're
playing for two or four people,or you could be playing to one hundred

(57:45):
people or four hundred people. Um, you still got to give one hundred
and ten percent because those two peoplethat are watching with a hundred people that
are watching you word the mouth, they're gonna talk to me, gonna say
hey, I like you. Thenext time. They might be friends.
And you know it's it's it's important. Um, that's one thing that I
learned the hard way. UM.But it's if it's something you love and

(58:07):
you want to keep drawn and youwant to be somewhere with it, you
gotta do what you gotta do.It is what it is. So I
totally totally get it. Um,all right, so what is next time?
You're you're singing list, what elsedo you want to sing about?
Um? Well, I'm not playingthe work clothes two for you guys.
Cool, I'd say, um,when I met her, she was a

(58:34):
waitress. Okay, my first wifeplays a waitress. So for some reason,
I've always had to think of waitresses. Okay, so weird to bringing
my kitchen is this song called workclothes A sender. When you come home

(59:09):
and you work clothes smelling like burgersand fry. I love the way those
tiny black SLACKSIX send you wait tilltimes. I would you work stuff up
on the table. You come over, let me get you work. And
I like the way that you lookyou phone when Now. The first time

(59:34):
we met, I was a latenight gets to be in the campaign where
you sir. The flower that youstuck up in your bune was so cute.
I called you over. When Igot up, I'm saying, I
can't I have some huller opinion.Catch your piece. You said that I
can have the old bam back, and when you got up to get it,
you're asked it look cat bad.I send her when you come home

(59:58):
and you work clothes spanner like burgersand prizes. I love the way those
tiny black slacks sent way you putyour work stuff up on the table.
Come over and let me get you. You walk now, Hardy. I
like the way that you look atyou and maybe we should keep on your

(01:00:36):
apron love for this mid afternon delight. I set the mood with some motown
mama so that I can't treat youright. You're my sweet Peranha, You're
my angel lives. You're my fistylittle capital phone and Hardy. I like
the way that you cook. YouI spending when you come home and you

(01:01:00):
spending like burgers and brothers. Ilove the way those tiny black slack six
sent not but you won't stop upon the table. Come home and let
me get you. I like theway that you look you un the phone,

(01:01:23):
You un the phone, un phone. You caught me off guard for
that one. I was like,oh yeah, I caught it. I

(01:01:45):
caught it. I was laughing.Man. That is that. See,
you've got some major talent. Man. You can write songs that are UM.
They grab you. I mean theymake you think about actually what you're
singing about. UM, at leastit does for me. I can envision

(01:02:05):
everything you're talking about Um, I'mI'm really digging your vibe. Man,
I'm really God that sounds so seventies, but anyways, it's like, yeah,
I really like I like the wayyou write it, like the way
you're saying you sing. Your voiceis very clean, UM, and I
like that. You know. UM, I'm sure that if you really got

(01:02:28):
into some deep soul man, youprobably get some of that rasp going though.
Too. I'm pretty sure you probablygot that hidden in there somewhere.
UM. But yeah, I I'mreally enjoying this tonight. UM. And
I say that to everybody that playson my show, But no, I
mean that. I oh, Ted, you're an idiot, But no,

(01:02:49):
I'm just kidding. I No,I do. Everybody that I've had on
my show so far that plays music, I have, honestly, UM,
enjoyed every single thing that they broughtto the table here because I think it
shows their personality. And UM,I really like what you're showing me tonight.
This is this is awesome. Ilove the music. UM. And

(01:03:14):
like I said, you just makeme go right with you, so,
you know, especially when you're talkingabout me and your taco song. This
fat boy loves tacos. By theway, so well, yeah, how
you get people listen, man,you yell out their names exactly. Human

(01:03:35):
tricks look good. He said myname, he said my name? Yeah
yeah, yeah yeah. So Ialso playing a duel with another guy and
his names Jeff Spradley. And whenhe first started playing with me, he
was just playing the Jim Bay insingle harmonies that hurt his hands. So
then he started playing snare and usingthe guitar cases picks together with my gun.

(01:04:00):
Right now, I kind of still, but then I was pretty much
giving him pretty pretty much everything justto keep people like. He had a
trauma drama at the same time andthat give him up melodica and he's done
any spun that he can spin thesticks up there and believes to keep people

(01:04:23):
watching. The people's attention span yeahvery short. Yeah oh yeah. And
you know, so that that's onething that has that always bugged me,
especially sports bars. Um, youbring in entertainment, whether it's happy or
not, turn the damn TVs off, you know, to have the focus

(01:04:43):
on the guy that you brought in. I mean, you hired them for
a reason. You hired them becausethey're supposed to be entertaining and they're supposed
to get you know, the crowdto drink. That's how they make them
money. It's not by him justsitting there on their asses that you want
them to drink. So, youknow, let's get them up dancing.
Let's, you know, get themdoing something. Um damn trick. If
they buy us a lot of alcoholand we drink it, we're still making

(01:05:06):
the bar money. See, yeah, we get to drink a lot.
There you go, there you go. Yeah. Uh. Nick. Nick
says, great song, by theway, he loved it, and he
says no one can resist the powerof tacos. My mother would disagree.
Stretchy pants, which is kind ofgoes along with the tacos stretchy pants.

(01:05:30):
I'm not gonna I'm I don't knowif I'm gonna gonna play the stretchy pants
all night, but it's it's gonnabe a hitman. Not all my songs
are stupid. Go listen to myown I love it, I love it.
Oh, maybe you should write analbum stupid songs. Uh, Jordan
Danielson, no more albums did,no more albums, just songs. Ye,

(01:05:58):
I'm gonna sell one of your songsfor you. That's what I'm gonna
do. I'm gonna sell one ofyour songs for you. We're gonna get
you hooked up somewhere in mister Ilike it. Please do, yes,
I hope I can get so.Um. What was the ninety nine song?
That one actually kind of took placea little bit in your neck of
the woods. That song is aboutwood Stock ninety nine. When I was

(01:06:23):
Oh, no kidding, buddy. We we bought a little mobs to protege
and it was a stick shift. No you didn't drive it, but we
took that sucker drove it all theway to Rome, New York from from
our Iowa. And man, Idon't know if you remember wood Stock ninety
nine, but it always yeah flamesand yeah. This was before cell phones.

(01:06:45):
So we got there. We gotthere early in the morning before there
was one hundred thousand cars there, and we went in and we hang out
for a little bit. You know, all the women had no clothes on,
and this is a easy So wehad to go until I lost him
and some people and I didn't seehim till the next day tried to find
our car. Good luck, man, you don't see it. Heard those

(01:07:11):
people, Yeah, I heard it. Was crazy. I just heard it
was nuts. Yeah, and thenwhen he finally after that, all we
met, I met this girl fromlike Charles, Louisiana and we were headed
up to a Katia Maine after that, and she went to Maine with us,
and then I had the Silver Maskwith her until we dropped her off

(01:07:31):
in Portland, and then we triedto get into Canada, which we didn't
make it Indicatada. We made itto the border, and then I spent
the next four hours in a paddedroom talking to a prince lawyer named Jacko
until they finally I don't want toknow any more than that, Oh,
you were a bad boy. I'vedone a lot of living now. Yeah,

(01:07:57):
that's a there's nothing wrong with that. M that's what gives you the
fuel, the right just think aboutit as your gas for your gas tank
or fuel for your fuel tank.Yeah, there you go, all right?
So, um, what else wasit? There was another one on
there that I noticed, that sonickind of funky too, and I don't

(01:08:18):
remember the name of it. Thatwas probably Ninian's Ballad could have been.
Yeah, that one's on old Soul. And the reason why I called the
soul is because a lot of ithas to do. Mother was the first
one about the river, and thenthat one. I was going to do
a lot of genealogy at the time, love genealogy, information about their great

(01:08:45):
grandfather and m Scotland got fourteen nameis Iron Miner and Karen mart and mcause
in the Civil War. Wow,well, I hope you guys check out

(01:09:13):
the chants, all right, Yeah, yeah, yeah, we'll make sure
that, I mean the links upthere and stuff. We'll get them do.
I'll get them over there. Iwas young and scared, had a

(01:09:47):
whole man a plan that was overthree thousand miles promise slan. I got
down on my knees and brain roforty nights, forty day the tear of

(01:10:11):
burm with a tear in my eye. Blessed day in early July, the
Canadian Wednesday blew cool, long,my face up, building hand of the
new lights, warming breath. Iseen boy and nice family lived through with

(01:10:35):
us. That made the kill ofdem ain't that I've ever known disappear over
the hill. I've seen violence inthe sunset from the earth up to the
sky where the steward don't come.I see it. Bye bye. I'm

(01:11:09):
Mary Jane at twenty eight he sunsMine and Night. A pre fronte.
I joined the causing both the unionby by higher wage and a human right.

(01:11:31):
Too many times I heard my sweetJane cry, she bore nine of
my chill. What six of themdie? There was certain to be claimed
and a figure we just as soongo settled out westmin This Minnesota. I

(01:11:55):
seen Boy and Nassy famine lived thewinners that made the kill. I want
sever thing that I've ever known disappearover the hill. I seen violence in
the sunset from the earth up tothe sky. Brother William, I still
don't know why I see you byand by. It's sure as the Scottish

(01:12:42):
blood flows in my veins. I'mready to carry on so I can deep
with my jam. It's kind oflike this cancer is from God's own hand,
like a ship to sail me awayto the promised land. I seen
Boy and not see Bam and winus and made the kids. I watched

(01:13:02):
Stevin thing and I've ever known disappairalBrother, I've seen barn and send the
sunset from the other to the sky. Brother William, must you don't know
why, Brother William, Must youdon't know why brother William must do don't

(01:13:24):
know why see you by by Man. That is deep man, that is
cool. I like that song.In fact, Nick was saying, he
goes for some reason, the songreminds me of Billy Joel's piano. Man

(01:13:47):
cool man. It's probably the harmonicah maybe yeah, but you know that's
Nick's actually you know, pretty goodat um. He's on here all the
time. He listens to all themusicians that play, a lot of them
do and they usually give me theiropinions. So that to me, that's
a that's called that's coolest hell.You know, um Billy Joel was a
great writer as well, and hismusic is fantastic, you know. Um.

(01:14:13):
And I actually had the opportunity toum sit in with his band.
Um it was actually called Shotgun Weddingwas the name of um Billy Joel's band
that backed him up. And actuallymet them in Buffalo one night and played
in the club up there. Itwas kind of fun. I mean,
I can't imagine being in New opportunities. I mean people have to pay to

(01:14:39):
play there like no, well no, I mean see I A lot of
people think that we're like near NewYork city and stuff. But I'm actually
in the center of the state, well closer to the west part of the
state, like where Buffalo is umbelow Rochester. So like for us,
the biggest cities are Buffalo, Rochesterare in Syracuse, and I'm kind of

(01:15:00):
like in the middle of them all, you know. I'm in the country
more cows than people, you know, one of those things at which I
love. So but we have opportunitiesbecause of the big cities to work with
different musicians and stuff. So andin New York City, I've been there
a few times, not impressed, you know. Down there there are some

(01:15:25):
clubs that you you have to payto play in New York City And hello,
Carrie Anne, my cousin. Ijust something I wouldn't do no way,
you know. And I love touring. I loved all that, especially
long road trips, you know, from New York to Florida and twenty one

(01:15:46):
hours down, twenty two hours back, you know. But it was always
a lot of fun, you know, well going down coming back was just
so freaking tired, you don't care. Way, yeah, yeah, that's
true. I mean I don't knowhow far Chicago for for where you are
though, I mean because you're traveling. Really, that's it. It's not

(01:16:12):
damn is like the worst drive totake fard. It's just super dark.
It's super dark, there's nowhere tostop, and it's just, oh,
it's terrible. I don't think I'veever taken that trip on it was in
snamstorm or something, you know,so I don't know whow. I haven't
got a lot of chances to playin Chicago, right, yeah, and

(01:16:39):
it's pay to play. Like yousaid, there's you know some of that
stuff, right yeah. I wouldn'twant to do that either. But that's
you just brought up a good pointthough, that that's one of the things
that I hate and people don't understandis that, you know, when you're
a national band, a national act, you get buses, you get people
to ride with. But when you'reby yourself and you're trying to do your
own music, and even if you'rewith a band, band members don't always

(01:17:01):
ride together. You could be likeseveral nights I drove by myself and in
the wintertime, I'm telling you,we have I mean people go oh in
New York, that's concrete city.I mean here we have mountains, we
have hills, we have the valleys. We have all that stuff and some
of the worst places to drive inthe wintertime because our winners are pretty heavy

(01:17:24):
here, you know. So trustme, when you're a musician and you're
on the rug by yourself, itcould be a scary thing. Sometimes I've
hit deer. I've oh my god, there's so many things that I've done
driving into gigs. So I can'timagine, you know, like with you,
well, I can't imagine because I'vebeen there, you know. So

(01:17:45):
it's a tough it's a tough spot, you know, especially trying to do
your thing. Oh about what hittinga deer? Okay, you know what,
that's an idea. You never know. If you do it, though,
you better be sending me like alittle thing saying, get off my

(01:18:08):
window, your little bastards. Look, I got critters on my windows,
all right. So most of thesesongs I'm playing your night are not I'm
enjoying them though, the ones thatI'm gonna there's a song called it doesn't

(01:18:34):
matter, It doesn't matter what thepicking tunes in Midwest lip wearing flip flops
on a Saturday and that Dode eight. They're every single road away dripping with
the trump full of speakers by theirown life. Maybe the tikeia is to

(01:18:58):
play. I can't remember a readybasis over calling in names. Sometimes we
get a lot longer, other timeswe begger. The drink's gone quick,
words gone quick. If it's twoin the morning scene, just another night
for me. I got one moreout to get back to the What Cities.

(01:19:19):
We made a five k party thismorning to start around seven hand.
I didn't get a lot of sleep. Soda getting me and take a light
and free Bloody Marris and a bigdeal Pickle had an early show at the
Country Bait Sweet Caroline, pull quickbut and then it's back in the car
to do We enjoy Basslorrette Parties Incletingin the North, Vasserrette Parties, Inclete,

(01:19:43):
Illinoisia vasser Rette Parties, Inclete,Illinois. It's two in the morning
scene, just another night for me. I got one more out to get
back to the Qua Cities. Sothank you all for the tip. Singer

(01:20:25):
Tunities. If he got a requestand write it on a dollar, I
don't know about you. I'm feelingkind of mercy. Maybe we should have
another hollow in the swallow. That'swhen I have everybody raised the glasses.
Something there and can give me aholler. See swallow, take a drink.
It's two in the morning. Yousee, it's just another night for
me. I got one more hopper. You get back to the quiet cities,

(01:20:51):
you get the rhythm mother ripping fromthe river city reader and the army
is hopping down the waifing man.A theater will go pillage in the village
chilling on a level street would beMississippi, but the city a little plug
for much. Now you got atalent, man, you really do,

(01:21:13):
especially for stuff like that. Youknow, maybe you know Roger Miller did
that. Man just played some goodtunes, had some little hooks in it,
some little you know, talked aboutthings. I mean, sure he
did some funny songs too, youknow, Mississippi Squirrel and all that other
stuff. But you got humor inyour songs. That's that's a rarity.

(01:21:34):
That's cool. Yeah, okay, the other day because you're not writing more
fun the songs slapping up really reallywell. You're good at it though.
I mean we've that most of thesongs that we've listened to tonight have they're
cheery, they're up, they're verypositive, just fun. I mean,

(01:21:57):
there's that's it. You know,it's like a positive vibe with your music
and and that's uh. Nicka's definitelygreat talent, he says here. Um,
so seeing Nick agrees, he's followingme, he's following my league.
There you go, Nick, findhim on Facebook. Hit him up.
Nick. Um, yeah, Iwant to like, I could see you

(01:22:23):
playing around, like I don't know, one of my private parties down here
around the bomb fire and we're alldrinking and you just playing and we're roast
marshmallows and laughing and having a goodtime. Let's getting in the bookstad you
want to do this, man York, I'll take a big pace. I'm

(01:22:47):
trying to get away from New Yorkfor vacation and you want to come here.
That's okay. It's an amazing timeto spend at the blazing Woodstock m
hm. Those cat's fs are beautiful, yeah, and rome is is Oh
man, it's a beautiful place upin there. Um, as long as

(01:23:09):
you don't mind the back end ofa cow down here and McDonald's. And
that's truly, that's true. Iforgot cow country. Um, but yeah,
no, I get it. Iget it. What now you from
Iowa. I was I was bornin Denver, but I came back through
the young so I grew up here. But it's a lot cooler to say

(01:23:31):
that I'm from Dona. So sookay, but why did you go to
Why did you go to Iowa?If you don't mind man asking family if
they moved there. Moved with mygrandparents, so and you kind of had
to go. I kind of houselike two. I tried to tried to

(01:23:53):
him, I want to stay.Get a job. Yeah at two nobody
wanted to hire you. Yeah, none enough skill. Then drove from Denver
to Iowana in a little b wwith no no heat in it in the
middle of the winter. Jesus, there's a there's a song for you,

(01:24:13):
talk about your mama, really nicesong about mama. Uh. Nick says
he just went and liked your pagefor you, buddy, Thank you,
Nick, appreciate it. That's awesome. I don't understand. I mean I
was looking at your Your YouTube's gotover six thousand, you know, there's
it hits on the one song there, So you've got you got people paying

(01:24:38):
attention. So the people that arelistening to your songs, that are liking
your songs, you know what Imean. Um, shit, I wish
I could get six thousand on oneof my pages. Um, I'm still
working on other. I got likefourteen, so I mean I got lucky
with that one. I've kicked outthe Facebook thing. Yeah, YouTube,

(01:25:00):
unless I just have to go toa thousand YouTube ladies and their stuff and
yeah, well see, And that'sthat's what I think it is. For
a lot of that stuff. Youjust go out and you start hitting everybody
else's ship and then they like youback, and you know, but music
is one of those things, likeespecially like now with the whole COVID thing,

(01:25:23):
we're still not all back on track. I mean, there are still
musicians not able to play. Um. Some of them are still sitting in
their room and just writing all thetime because they can't perform. Um.
Some of them are recording though.Um the lives on Facebook, the lives
on Instagram, the lives on YouTube. Um, they're at least doing it
that way, making a few bucks. You know where. They've got themselves

(01:25:45):
a virtual tip jar, you know, so people can send them money through
PayPal or whatever. These venmo um. You know, they're playing in their
house for a couple three hours andyou know, I'm making a few bucks
just to survive. And I getit, and that's if that's what you
have to do, then that's whatyou have to do, you know.

(01:26:05):
Um we talked about that earlier.Um. Yeah, when this whole thing
I hit, man, I waspretty scared, man, because it's just
like all the venues closing down wasnot sucking I ever. You know,
I like figured I had job security, you know what I mean, like
m but I didn't, you know, just sit for a couple of days.

(01:26:27):
Yeah, I was a little scared, but I spent four days doing
my taxes. I got that done, and I you know, I made
it. Not I haven't paid mybandlin for a couple of months. You
know. I was just doing everythingI can. I was selling T shirt,
singing half they had old ladies. They were paying me for like just
everything I possibly could do to makeliving. And I started writing these videos

(01:26:48):
and I think that will helped tokeep my name out there. I made
it doing the news like five timesand of course every months, so it
was wow, that's awesome. Yeah. Yeah, And luckily I live in
the wild West here in Iowa, where like, honestly everything's open and then
those seems to doctor, it's allgonna die, you know what I mean,

(01:27:12):
Like we're still locked down tight, and it's like you can't argue with
it, but also gonna make manymoments, right, No, I get
it. Yeah, well we havewe have four times the amount of people
you do to to deal with withthis disease. And it's like that right
now, I mean the whole Likeyou heard me earlier in the beginning of

(01:27:33):
the show, they closed down Gettysburg, Um, the big you know,
our big event that happens at ourconvention. They closed it down because they
had a spike in and COVID andyou know, we were all set to
go for next weekend, but becausethey got this big spike, they had
to cancel the whole event, andum, we were all looking forward to

(01:27:54):
it. Um, Florida and Texasand Arizona right now, or are hammered,
you know, And we just heardtoday that um they're warning about Winner
that Winner is going to thind theherd again as COVID thing is gonna come
back and kick us all in theass one more time. And people are

(01:28:15):
going to be out of work again, h stay at home because they're gonna
be afraid to go anywhere because thisCOVID thing is gonna be worse the second
time around. And that scares theshit out of me, you know.
I just I just sent sign myson up for home. Yeah. Who

(01:28:38):
knows, they're gonna up close itagain. Yeah, and he can travel
with them too. That's that's fantastic. That's fantastic. Not as if fiance
go with you too. Yeah, she's wepping. Do you like her?

(01:29:00):
I haven't gone anywhere yet, justa couple of weeks ago. That was
Another one is a live feeds toowisboat. It's no, I'm looking at your
website there it is. I poppedover there real quick. Um, well,

(01:29:25):
you're doing a wedding on the eighteens. You're at the captain's table on
the twenty four. Um, yeah, you're in a you got see,
you got some date schedule. Man, you're doing more better than some of
these other people, you know.Ah, Man, this sounds fun though.
Twilight riverboat cruises. What is this, right? Is a little town

(01:29:48):
holds a middle of town. Iplayed pretty much every venue in that the
town. Again, it's just ariverboat cruise that goes like up and down
the Mississippi River. Need to getdown there and played for some folks and
playing out on the river. That'ssome money, guys. Oh I want
to do that. I gotta tellyou what. Damn. It's funny all

(01:30:12):
the different places in the field whenI played grocery stores, which are some
of the coolest gigs out right downlike grocery stores, Freshtime grocery store here.
They just have me come in thereand play, and I just set
up my bows and I can't tellyou, man, I'm sell more CDs
and make more teps there and threehours just sitting and playing because people walking
around in the shop and you know, like this personal so you know,

(01:30:40):
they all got their pocketbook guys, they're like, oh yeah, CDs for
sale, you know. So Imean I played in a bank teller parking
lot, you know, the driveup the bank last you know, man,
God, I couldn't imagine that inNew York. Playing in a grocery
store. It's another one. It'sthe habitatical or humanity restore. Its sell

(01:31:10):
a bunch of youth. Stop theyhave going there playing people love it.
God, you live in like adifferent world from us. That sounds so
cool, though, it's cool.There's a lot, there's a lot opportunity.
I'm glad I'm hearing when people tellme you that arenas why don't want

(01:31:31):
Yeah, let's see people exactly.Yeah, and they're and they're then they're
fighting to get that little chance, that that that Yeah, you could stay
home and fight for that same littlechance, you know, but at least
at home, you're making a namefor yourself and you're you're you're setting your

(01:31:53):
your feet in the dirt. Man, You're that's what you need. You
need a good foundation. Yeah, that's true. I just got on their
local music Facebook. So I guessNick said he comes from the land of

(01:32:13):
Tacos. There is a lot ofgreat experience. That's amazing. That's amazing.
So I've lived in Tennessee, Oklahoma, Um, Texas. Uh,

(01:32:33):
that's the farthest I went, yeah, yeah, So, and I was
thinking about that when you said,Nick's gotta stopped talking about tacos because this
fat boy is getting hungry. Ohyeah, he's the thing about the stretchy
pants. Yeah, Nick, You'regonna eat stretchy pants. You keep talking.

(01:32:56):
So yeah, I mean, hell, we've we've, we've we still
got a little bit. I meanwe did go over a little. I
don't care, um, so wegot some time. So hell, you
want to play another song, you'rewelcome too, and then we can um
talk about socials and wrap it up. And uh, because I've had a
blast. Man, it's been Ican't believe it's it's been an hour and

(01:33:18):
a half already, pretty quick.Yeah, and but ship playing gigs never
went this fast. This was almostwent as fast as the one I went
over to my other buddies and justpretty much set and drink bot beneath me

(01:33:39):
all night. So you just getto watch this. Why didn't you say
something? I could have went andgot my Jack Daniels. We could have
had a couple of shots. Idon't care, pick one and you got
it. Man, my, wedidn't hear that. The fringe, the

(01:34:15):
fringe, fringe. And this isa love song for the music business.
I remember all the words of this. I trade all my diamonds, spoke
days the childhood. Man, I'vebeen chasing you for so long that I

(01:34:41):
can't see. Show me all yourpleasantry, all your notes, and you
boch. You spoke to me andyou showed me how to bit three so
many times as I called out, show back door, just the wanning mom.

(01:35:11):
It's loveless, bab who hold out? Baby baby? This is where
I love this baby, So don'tyou leave me? I he wrong the
friend. When I drove to theBlack Knight just to curve all my appetites,

(01:36:15):
I rubbed shoulders with all your loversand your friends. We had moon
lights, seven eights, ball down, drunkennessas you told me that, But
this brand debut would never over thelines in my face. I grow in

(01:36:43):
deep with death, and I'm solonging to hear that our time is finally
head Who now, baby baby, this is where I love it be,
So don't you lead me? Herongthe frame, I think not baby baby,

(01:37:14):
this is weird. I love isbig, so don't leave me.
I hero the frame. I thinkthat's the first slow song or sign a

(01:37:34):
mediocre song that you even played tonight. Thanks. Thanks, Yeah, that
was cool though. Still so Ilike it. Well, I I really
like I really dig your music.I really think you should keep going.
I mean, I've told you everythingthat I really think about it. You've

(01:37:58):
got the great sense of humor inyour music. You're very talented, You've
got a great voice. That's verystrong, very smooth. Um, I'm
gonna push your music, and Ithink Nick is going to too. There's
gonna be a few of us here. UM that just I think they're gonna
love your stuff. To be honestwith you, UM, I can't promise

(01:38:19):
you hundreds, but I can getit. I can get a few,
you know, and get a fewpeople to listen and like yeah and follow
you. And that's about all Ican do, you know, I'll do
what I can. UM. Thisshow is part of a whole network,
and I think what's once the networkgets of I think once I showed this
to the boss Man, I thinkhe's gonna like your stuff, so you

(01:38:42):
know, he might he might request, you know, um for you to
be on a couple of the othershows. You know. I think that
would be help you out. So, UM, I would love to have
you back, you know, ifyou would like that. UM, we'll
figure out something. Maybe I cando it from the actual studio UM up
in Ontario, New York. UM. And I'm pretty sure that he could

(01:39:08):
mess with some stuff there and makeit sound like you're sitting right there with
us, you know. But JohnC. John, actually the boss Man
owns a UM. He provides allwell like stage and lighting and all the
sound for bands that tour across theUnited States and overseas um in the UK.

(01:39:33):
He owns a big business and that'swhat he does. So, I
mean, he knows a lot ofcontacts. So basically, I'm just gonna
play some of your songs for himand say, hey, we need to
do something for this guy. Sosee what he says. What's the worst
he could say? No, yeah, me too. So yeah, I'd

(01:39:56):
like to hear what this sounds likeafterwards too. I'm gonna listen to it
afterwards. So um experiment, LikeI say, all these these zoom shows,
Man, when you get the guitar, just yeah, I bought this
thing bull them so oh man.So this yeah, I mean it sounded

(01:40:21):
good on my end. Um,So you know, I'm hoping I got
a little Yamaha that I'm using herefor a mixer. Um that actually came
from it came from the idea ofJohn himself, and this is what he
uses. He uses a bigger Yamahasystem for when we record live at the
studio and um, when we doour shows there and uh it works,

(01:40:49):
you know, I mean I haven'thad any real major problems with it.
There's been a couple of things. But for what I'm doing here at home
to get through with this whole COVIDbullshit, it's been working. It's not
the best quality, um, butthe point gets across awesome, you know.
So uh, Nick says another greatsong. Well done. You got

(01:41:14):
a fan of Nick? I thinkthat's awesome too. Private party there you
go, there you go. We'llhave to get some money together and bring
them to New York, New Yorkfor some party. We'll have to figure
something out. I'm going up toGreen Bay this week. Just sip right
across there you go. Man,you sound like you'd be a blasted stuff.

(01:41:40):
I mean, maybe we can finda way to get you to do
some work up here. You know. I love that area. Yeah,
yeah, Jesus, it's because liketwo and a half miles that way and
Buffalo's an hour and a half thatway. I almost got arrested him.

(01:42:03):
Oh what did you do? Mysaxophone in the in the parking ramp lay
at night? Which is the mostamazing thing. Can ever do that?
It sounds great, it's awesome. But but my fiance say she was across
the way, and then tel shewas getting stuff, and she why the
way doesn't know? You're calling thecops right now? She goes, what

(01:42:24):
are you calling the copspot? Don'tcan't you hear it? Can't you hear?
Somebody's playing the saxophone over there?I think I think stuff like that
is cool and if they don't.People need a sense of humor, they
really do. And too many peopleare so negative these days. You know,

(01:42:45):
there's not enough positive Just hey,go have fun, you know,
try and understand why this person isdoing this. You know, they forget
what it's like to just enjoy something. You know. That's the problem with
people today. They don't know howto enjoy pretty much. So that's what
I believe. I mean, II do a lot here, um,

(01:43:08):
and I try to enjoy every singlething I do. Right now, I've
been on a binge. I Ishouldn't have done it, but I've been
doing. I've been buying, um, don't laugh now, I've been buying
Godzillas from every era and I yeah, I have. I have a ton
of Godzilla's right now and I justordered another dozen that'll be here next week,

(01:43:31):
so um, yeah, yeah,And I just bought the cutest little
one. Sits in the palm ofmy hand. Where's my hand over here?
Cute a little just just sits.I'll show you what I got a
second. So what's the story behindthe Godzillas? My stepdad like Scott Wills,

(01:43:53):
he's got like a billion hot windshe had to get like, oh,
I can't see him. But thereis just as little tiny Godzilla the
spin Yeah, yeah, it's tinyas shit. Um. Godzilla was one

(01:44:14):
of my heroes when I was akid, believe it or not. Um,
Godzilla always had I mean there wasstories um of about bullying and stuff
like that, and uh yeah,so Godzilla was just a childhood thing.
And I decided at that point thenI was going to start collecting them.
And so I got one now that'sworth about four hundred and fifty bucks.

(01:44:41):
Um, so I've got I've gota collection started. And um, most
of what I got is stuff that'sworth like anywhere from like thirty two one
hundred bucks. Um. I gota couple that are worth three four hundred
bucks. But I it can be. Yeah, I have I have football

(01:45:04):
kurts um and they just sit, they don't do anything, they don't make
me money at all. So butI mean, you got to collect something,
I guess, and but the butyou know, for me, it
was Godzilla. So I started collectingall the movies and then I got into
collecting all the the figurines and thebanks and the things that just if you,

(01:45:26):
if you really look on the internet, there are Godzillas that are going
for well over two to three grand. Yeah, so you know you could
if you get enough of them. You know, I just can't afford them.

(01:45:46):
I'm not I'm not no rich man. Mm hmm. In this little
shopping backs like movies like they werethe original ones like Back to the Future
people they would have like the partsand oh yeah, so cool. I
mean that what the addision mus wasBack to the Future and there was herrying

(01:46:10):
the inter scenes, no kidding,Like what did you get these things?
You really crazy? Yeah, It'samazing what becomes vintage and what becomes you
know, worth money. I've neverthought about Godzilla, you know, being
something that was gonna make you know, all this money. But I'm glad

(01:46:34):
I started collecting them. Now.All right, man, you know,
I've had a great night with you. I think you're one of the most
one of the more personal people I'veever talked with. You're very relaxed,
very very cool. Fun. Um, You're You're what music needs to be,
honest, especially today. Um,between the writing and what you've got

(01:46:58):
in your talent of vocals, I'mnot I can't say enough about you.
I think you're awesome and I'm anobody. So, um, just talk
with Teddy. That's it. We'rejust a little tiny show, but we
get out there. We have peoplein Australia and China and India and then
across the States. We're we're there. So we do my best, you
know, for for who we haveon the show. And I really appreciate

(01:47:21):
you coming and sharing your gift withus tonight. I really appreciate it.
I appreciate you. This is like, what other way am I going to
be play? It's awesome, That'sthat's true. But you know, I'm
gonna keep I'm gonna keep doing whatI can for you. Man. Usually
stuff like this, especially stuff Ireally enjoy I like to I like to

(01:47:43):
share. So and this this ison our YouTube stuff, it's on our
live shows, it's on our Facebookpages. It's always going to be there.
Um, Nick says, fantastic showtonight. Um, and thank you
Nick. Um. This is gladI was able to tune in, so
that was that was great. Wedo appreciate that, Nick, and yeah

(01:48:04):
so and Carrie and Robert and everybodyover on the watch party, thank you
so much for joining us there aswell. I wish I could see everybody
at once. I mean, that'sthat's the only bad thing about zoom and
stream yard and not having all theseconnected to where you can see where everybody's
from. That that kind of sucksa little bit. But I do appreciate
everybody on there and everybody that's goingto be listening to some of the replays

(01:48:29):
and stuff like that. And uh, Jordan, I'm going to be hitting
you back up eventually to come backand join us here. Um, and
just you know, stay in touchplease man, do the same things.
So much to appreciate it. Thankyou everybody for listening. God, I
finally heard your accent. I finallyheard it. Uh huh, I finally

(01:48:53):
