(01:33):
episode of Talk with Teddy. Youguys know that I like to dive into
certain things and kind of bring forwardwhat's hip, what's happening, and maybe
some stuff that's even a little weirdlike this. To me, it's a
little weird. Pokemon Go is uh, it's an amazing game from what I
understand. I did play it alittle bit, and I have to admit

(01:56):
this, but Pokemon Go has likeeight hundred million downloads. It's one of
the largest online games, especially onyour cell phones that people play, and
it's crazy that there's that many adultsthat are playing this and it really you
know, I don't know. Imean I played it for a little bit

(02:20):
and I have to admit some ofit was fun. Then you know,
it just wasn't for me. ButI'm gonna have a couple of guests here.
They're gonna be talking about Pokemon Go, and we're gonna ask them basically
how they got into it, howlong they've been doing it, what excites
them about the game, and whatare they looking forward to, and go

(02:43):
from there. Now, we havebrought other type let's say, situations or
topics to the table here before andthey've all went pretty well. But this
is our first like real game typeof show and discussing this miracle or this

(03:04):
phenomenon called Pokemon Go. And myfirst guest, his name is Brad.
He's gonna be joining me here injust a moment and we're gonna dive right
into this. We are waiting forone extra guest. She is not here
yet, but you know who sheis. Um. She talks about Pokemon
Go on the other show all thetime and on her own show. So
but right now, let's get toBrad. Brad, welcome to talk with

(03:30):
Teddy. Thank you. How's itgoing good? Good? So I'm basically
going to Hello, Nick, Hello, Tom, Linda, Ernie, Sandra,
Mike, Mike Clark, Um Snowand Adam and Grant. I want
to I want to know, LikeI'm sitting here and looking at you got

(03:53):
a Pokemon? What is that?Like a jumper or pajama? What is
it? Yeah, it's actually aonesie, so like pajamas, I guess
you could say. So you're reallyinto Pokemon very much. Yeah, it's
okay. So so how old areyou? Forty? Forty? Oh man,

(04:15):
okay, so let's let's let's goto you before I get to her.
So you're forty. How long haveyou been into Pokemon? Since college?
Um? I think right around thetime that it came out. Um,
yeah, so that would have beensad enough to say ninety eight ninety
nine. It was playing the theoriginal game Boy games with my roommate and

(04:42):
watching the cartoons and stuff. Andyou know, so now, I guess
looking back on just a huge nostalgiathing. But right it's like huge,
Like I did some research on likeeight hundred million downloads for this Pokemon go.
It's like, it's amazing. What'sthe fascination you think? Um?
Well, I know on the initiallaunch it was like, holy count.

(05:04):
This is something that's because it hadonly been really the handheld games like on
Game Boy, Nintendo DS, thingslike that. Um, but to have
it on your smartphone and literally anywhereyou go you can see these creatures in
the wild or you know, inyour backyard, what have you. Um,
it's kind of cool. And obviouslyit's it's more since then because it's

(05:25):
been out for a little over fouryears now. So right, and see,
I a friend of mine that webringing up here actually turned me onto
it. We were in Gettysburden inPennsylvania and she made me go with her
on this hunt for Pokemon. Andwe drove around in her car in Pennsylvania

(05:45):
while she did these little battles tograb all these Pokemon. She was like
his dad, She's like, ohmy god, this is fantastic. Get
blah blah blah blah blah blah. And I'm like, what is the fatuation
with us? I just I stilldon't get. I mean, I get
the point. Okay, you goto certain locations, and you see these

(06:06):
like, I don't know even whatyou want to call them? What are
they? What are they? Thoselike structures that has all the pokemon and
the battle? What is that called? They consider that a gym a gem
okay, And so we would goto these gems and she would, I

(06:26):
mean, depending on what Pokemon shehad, she would go in their battle
to take over the gym. Iguess the best way to put it.
Yep, you nailed it on thehead. Wow, this is this is
crazy. This is crazy. Soyou know she I almost thought about reinstalling
it on my and my tablet justso I could kind of explain more tonight.

(06:47):
But I figured, you know why, I'm gonna have you and I'm
gonna have her on the show andyou guys can kind of explain the whole
dealio, the whole thing, becauseI can understand kids. I mean,
this was a cartoon first, right, Yeah? The anime? Yep,
so is this how this all thisstuff started? Was anime? Was the

(07:10):
was the cartoon type thing? Ibelieve? So yeah, I mean it
was huge in Japan when it firstcame out. Um, I think they
said I was reading. I thinknext year would be the twenty fifth anniversary
of it. I think it cameout nineties six. I could be like,
um, yeah, so you hadthe cartoons, the anime and with

(07:30):
the quick tie in you know,to the handheld games and just the marketing.
You know, anything from stuffed animalsto board games to handheld games,
you name it. So what doyou think draws you like, adults and

(07:54):
children to this? What? Whatis this? What is the what is
the draw? Yeah? Well,I think i'd meant it before the nostalgia
thing, Like you're like, well, back when I used to watch the
cartoon or whatever, like there's Charmandor Pikachu Squirrel or whatever, and now
you have this in your game. But what's funny for me? Like,

(08:18):
since I've been playing the game forsince it came out, so a little
over four years ago, I haven'tstopped playing. I have a bunch of
friends who started, they stopped.Part of what I'd like to do is
try to get my friends to startplaying again and get them back into it,
because I remember the first summer ortwo that it was out, just
about everyone in my workplace was playing, Like on breaks and lunches, we'd

(08:41):
go out for walks and go catchPokemon together. They'd be like ten of
us walking outside together and just doingthis group activity. It was a cool
way to socialize and get outside atthe same time, you know. So
it was a really neat thing thatthe common interest and everyone just like we
actually host like lure parties. Youcan do so points of interest, so

(09:05):
like a part our museum monuments havePoka stops, similar to the gyms that
you talked about, okay, Andso we would get a group of people
some nights would be thirty forty andwe would play for a few hours.
We would lure the Pokemon stops. It's something you can do in the game
to get more Pokemon to appear,Bring pizza, have everyone chipping for pizza,

(09:28):
and just walk back and forth inthe park for like three or four
hours on a summer night and justhang out and stuff. And I kind
of missed that that was There's notso much of that going on now.
Wow. Wow. According to sciFi Wire, Pokemon Go shattered downloads and
sales sale records when it was introducedin twenty sixteen, utilizing unique mix of

(09:52):
Nitanic augmented reality AAR technology and Nintendo'sMonsters catching France catching franchise. When the
mobile video game first debut, somecritics wondered whether the game would be sustainable
and attractive to users beyond its fadstage, which they figured it would be
two years. Well over two years, Pokemon Go is still showing signs of

(10:13):
not slowing down anytime soon, withover eight hundred million downloads, which I
think is amazing for a game.Right, yeah, you know this is
this is crazy and if people werehaving parties like what you were talking about,
that's just I guess it's fun.I mean, yeah, right,

(10:35):
you know, I'm not I'm I'mkind of lost for words with some of
this because like a little Chris Sanders, I'm surprised he didn't actually pop on
here because he plays, uh,Pokemon Go as well. There are a
large amount of adults playing this game. Yep. You know. I was

(10:56):
guilty for like a month because Iwould actually pull over on the side of
the road, like our local libraryhad one of those gyms, and I
would pull over, or you wouldgo and you'd try to find some of
these other Pokemon hiding in different placesaround town. And I admit, in
the beginning it was fun, butthen I got I got kind of like,

(11:22):
oh man, you know, Idon't go anywhere to like get any
special Pokemon. They're always the sameones and stuff like that. But I
still I'm just like, I've gotto think that this attraction, which is
I collect Godzilla as you see himbehind me. So so that is like

(11:46):
the same thing that you you're goingthrough with Pokemon go pretty much, you
know exactly. I don't play thegame. Well, I there is a
Godzilla game. I do play thegame, but um, you know,
I collect all these Godzillas and stufflike that. And for me, I
think this is what keeps us youngand hurt. I mean, it's kind

(12:09):
of it keeps you going, itkeeps you motivated, it's fun, you
meet new people. Um, itkeeps the show social. I think,
ye, yeah, definitely. Sowhy don't you explain to me if you
can, like the whole premise behindthis game. Did you do that for

(12:30):
me? Sure? Okay, um, yes, that's Pokemon. Sorry I
have to correct myself because I'm I'mgetting yelled at in the chat room.
It's an Pokemon not Pokemon. I'msorry. Some people pick yeah, yeah,
that's okay, you go ahead, especially with the names of the Pokemon

(12:52):
like you hear different pronunciations all thetime. But well, the cup to
the game itself, and one ofthe taglines in the theme song for Pokemon
when you watch the original cartoons wasgot to catch them all. Well,
at this point, of course, you know the it's been around for over
twenty years. I think there's probablyclosed over nine hundred actual Pokemon out there.

(13:18):
That's a lot. The game itself, Pokemon Go hasn't gone that far
yet. So Niantic, the companythat partnered with you know, the Pokemon
people, they're smart, they're kindof like a slow burn that right now,
they're only on the fifth generation ofPokemon and there's they're working on the

(13:39):
eighth one right now. So there'sstill lots of game to be had in
the future if it's done right andit sustains hopefully. But basically, you
know, going out catching these monsters. There's different variations of them. There's
powerful types, legendaries, there's raidswhich you need friends or other players to

(14:00):
take down. So, um,when you have these bosses in a gym,
you can have up to twenty peoplebattle this one boss. Um,
so it's kind of a shared thing. I'm in multiple faceback, Facebook Messenger
chat so we can coordinate raids andstuff. Um it's uh, they've done
a good job, especially with thelockdown and stuff like that. It's been

(14:24):
harder obviously to get out see peopleor whatever. But now you can remote
into gyms and um like, Iwas recently invited to a raid out in
Czechoslovakia. Um wow, And Ihad a friend out there and they invited
me to a gym and I helpedbattle with them and stuff like that,
and we all have a chance tocatch it. So it's it's crazy,

(14:46):
yeah, crazy, Oh my god. We need we need Godzilla gyms,
we need places we can go tobeat up other monsters. We need something
right that Well, it's it's funnyis because there's other games that have,
you know, trying to take theswing and miss the opportunity with the popularity
Pokemon Go that Niantic, the samecompany released a Harry Potter version. It's

(15:09):
I played it for a month ortwo. Then I was like, all
right, you know, but I'vealways kind of stuck with Pokemon Go.
But there's been other variations. Therewas a Jurassic Park one. I don't
know if that's still going on.But the same idea, like that whole
augmented reality, like hey, lookthere's a t rex right in my backyard,
I'm gonna go catch it. Oryou know, so other franchises have

(15:33):
tried to capitalize on the popularity,so to speak, with their their version
of characters or what have you.But it's just Pokemon has so much sustainability
and popularity. I think that's what'skeeping it going. Yeah, this is
this is definitely a phenomena. Imean, it's it's killing me because it's

(15:54):
like I so many people out thereare playing the talking about the game.
You're seeing stuff on Facebook all thetime. Um, it's just it's it's
amazing. Um the amount of adults. Now, I know people that I'm
fifty four, and I know peoplethat are in their sixties that are playing

(16:15):
this. Yeah, and it's justit's I guess it's okay. I mean
it's not. I mean, Idon't know what to say, you know,
I mean, it's it's amazing.Um here here. According to um

(16:36):
Nantick, more than four hundred thousandtrainers join several global Pokemon Go events worldwide
to unlock rewards in September, anda release last month Nantick reported more than
one hundred and eleven million fronts connectedand have been made, with an astonishing
two point two billion gifts being sentbeing shared since the company introduced new social

(17:00):
features at the end of June.So I mean, that's wow, that's
crazy. That's pretty easy. Oneof the things I always get a kick
out of, Hi, Chris. One of the things I always get a
kick out of is that when peoplesay that still happens, people still play

(17:23):
that game, And like, ifyou go into Google Search and start typing
in Pokemon Go, one of thethe pre fails will pop up, like
is Pokemon Go dead in twenty twentyor do people even still play this?
But to be honest, Niantic hadone of their richest quarters for profits,
Like the first quarter of the year, I think they made over three billion
dollars they year to year to dayfor since the game started in twenty sixteen,

(17:48):
I think they've made over sixty fivebillion dollars in revenue. So people
like Chris Sanders are buying into this. Yeah, Brad got me hord going
to realize that he's like plays fora little bit anyone. I know.
He's a very busy guy. Um, but yeah, yeah, so I
like whatever. I don't know whatI mean, I'd like to know.

(18:12):
I like to try and get myfriends to play too, because it's something
I enjoy thoroughly, and I,you know, get a kick out of
it. And I love when Iwork in the office. I've been working
from home since March because of allof this, And but when I work
in the office on lunch breaks,a couple of my co workers and I
will go out. We'll time ourlunches. If there's raids outside the park,

(18:33):
we'll go out together on lunch anddo raids and stuff like that.
So wow, that's part of theappeal in the front of it. So,
Chris, you got into it becauseof Brad. Yeah, Brad got
me hooked on it. I triedplaying it at like prior, maybe like
two years ago, and then Ireally couldn't get into it because I didn't
understand it. But Brad's like themaster of like figuring out was that fine?

(19:00):
Fine, it was Cindy, butshe's eating I didn't see her little
finger waving. But that's okay. But so, so what do you think
of the game, Chris? What'swhat's the draw for you? Um?
You know, it's just the factit keeps me active. You know,
you walked around and stuff like that. Like we were in Gettysburg. You
know, me and Brad probably playedthat game for like sixteen hours straight.

(19:23):
Now. I mean like there's tonsof gems and stuff on the battlefield,
the hotel. You know, you'vegot a good on the elevator, walk
over like one hundred feet just toget this one Pokemon. You're like,
I can't reach them from here.Yeah, it's just out of reach.
Wow, that is crazy. Imean, like I said, I was

(19:47):
telling Pratt, it's like when Iwent with Cindy. I mean we were
in Gettysburg or we're she drove aroundand we would go to these places and
she would do her little battles andit was crazy this girl and we'll get
her back up here in a secondwith study. But she would get up
here, she would get all excitedabout it and all this. It's just
I guess I get giddy like thattoo about Godzilla stuff. But it's just

(20:10):
just you know, it's kid,we just lost ours, so I gotta
get a new one. No,he's gotta be what is that? What?
What? What character is that? This? This is a vaporion,
So it's a yeah, it's anevolution of ev what shows my boy on?

(20:34):
Well you can you can see allthe other ones behind me, like,
I'm kind of okay, since allright now we just have to look
at my shirt really quick, startreceptions. But you start a revolution,
nice, yes, because everybody's goingto see like part of it and they're
gonna be like, what is whatdoes her shirt say? Stop bitching?

(20:56):
Start a revolution. Let it bea Pokemon Go revolution. It's fine.
There you go, Hi Chris,Hi brand, Hi, Teddy Pa,
I love you. I'm sorry.I literally got home, had to rush
around my house super fast, andI had jet my son, my youngest,

(21:19):
make me a plate for dinner, and then I had to eat some
as I was doing my my podcast. I couldn't even like, I'm gonna
eat my my snacks on here withit. That's works, dude. I
just dropped like thirty men. Sohow much thirty listen? I have eliminated

(21:44):
uh twenty eight pounds through keto.So I it is good stuff. I
found it all, So I'm good. I tell him to um, I
got plenty of ventilation, and we'regonna we're gonna put the big boys on
this side and the skinny ones onthat side. There we go. I

(22:07):
got you, We got you. Now, he's just he's just what is
it you're echoing, Chris, Yeah, I go. He's in a void.
He's in a Pokemon void where hecan't reach the scots and he can't
get Oh no, that's not agood place to be, brad shiny Pokemon

(22:33):
there. He's actually that come alittle bit too, but I think it's
because you don't have headphones in.That's oh my god. We'll get your
little guys behind you too. Thereis a Pikachu back there. I do
recognize Pikachu. I don't know whatthe other the other ones are, but
I know what Pikachu is, andthat's because of the movie. Yeah,

(22:56):
this is actually Detective Pikachu. Iwas just gonna say, it's Detective Pikachu.
You're the movie. There, itis you. Yeah, and I'm
going a Pikachu onesie. Actually it'sreally warm though, that's so I pulled
the hood back. Oh my gosh, I love it so much. There's
actually a tail on the back ofit. Please show us your booty,

(23:21):
oh man, Chris go oh,Chris, you I guess I threatened to
show my tail and Chris runs away. All right, So the movie Pokemon.
What did you guys think about that? The Detective Pikachi one. Yeah,
I actually thoroughly enjoyed it. Idid too. Yeah, when it

(23:48):
came out, of course, you'renot nervous. You see the trailer and
let's tell my wife about it,and she's kind of like, but when
I was like, hey, waita minute, Ryan Reynolds is the voice
of Pikachu, and she's like,I'll go see it. He was really
funny. It's just you know, fortunately you know, he's a fuzzy yellow
character until near the end spoiler nearthe end of the movie. Um,

(24:10):
but uh yeah, I was like, Bryan Reynolds, you'll want to see
this, let's go watch it.So I actually did go to the movie
theater in this onesie because I'm crazylike that. But oh my god,
I love that so much. YeahI did that. Chris just stopped in
quick for us, just he washe wasn't going to stay. He just
stopped in quick. So yeah, one of my cats watch, we're actually

(24:33):
getting the echo from Cindy. SoI got my headset in. But I
do she hates she hates wearing them. Yeah, get like these. Yeah,

(24:55):
being in my existence will Yeah, this is coming really handy. When
I first started working from home,I had some like headphones, just like
the earbud things, but the headphonejack on my state laptop doesn't seem to
work right, so I hadn't endup having to get this wireless headset and

(25:17):
yea I have a good old USBfor it. So yeah, we're definitely.
I like wearing these because the earbudsbother me. I don't like the
earbuds and nie ball out of myear holes. Oh those are the wireless
the air pod thingies. Yeah, these are like candy, I thing,

(25:37):
just candy. Yeah, so Cindy, let's go to you. I'll ask
you the same question as I askedBratt. How long have you been playing
Pokemon Go? Since twenty sixteen? So when it came out, yeah,
I was a little later to thegame, like just a couple of months
later. My niece and her boyfriendwere the ones who we have a Pokemon

(25:57):
Go group in our area on Facebook, so we we like coordinate with everybody
and we're like, okay, who'sdoing this raid? But my niece started
the group, and so we've beenin it and do the group ever since.
I go I wax and Wayne withmy game. I'm lazy sometimes or

(26:18):
it depends on how busy I am. Like sometimes I like it's just like
Teddy, you know how I amwith social media, Like I'm not on
it that much and and it's Ireally am and when So when you go
to um, go to like umif I get overwhelmed or something, or

(26:47):
I'm like, I've been like feaningon it for a month in and all
of a sudden, I'll be doingnothing on my game for a while.
Yeah, I'm one of those crazyI play like every day. You have
a group. Mhm, we havea hole. It's huge. Hang on,

(27:10):
now, Brad, do you havea group too? You said I
do? Actually, um, um, So I work, so I live
in Maine. Um, but Iwork in one city and I live in
another. So I'm in multiple messengergroups. I have one for where I
work and then one for where Ilive, you know, to coordinate raids
and exact trades with friends. Stufflike that. We have we have.

(27:38):
I have one in the town, like it's several towns of us. Yeah,
because we're little town and then wehave Webster, which is like bigger,
and then there's also a Rochester group. I keep that one from my
niece, so when we're going outto Rochester and doing those, she's in

(27:59):
charge of that one. Yeah,I assume that must be huge. Like
now, being on the coast Maine, not nowhere near as big as Rochester.
What like biggest for us would belike Portland, which is like an
hour and a half south of me. But but you know, I got
one in Rockland, and I gotone in Augusta, which is a bit
bigger, you know city. Butyou know, each chat has you know,

(28:21):
probably one hundred or so people inthere, and yeah, there's got
to be around almost five. Soevery city, every city, every town
has Pokemon. It's everywhere everywhere.Yeah, one of the we go on
vacation. We go on vacation andmake sure we get gifts and stuff to

(28:44):
send to our people from that placeso they can get eggs to hatch for
distance yep, distance trades. Yeahthat's awesome. Okay, we need to
break this time a girl. That'sokay, So all right, my Pokemon

(29:08):
go group. Okay, so I'mtrying to figure out the whole like the
strategy of this game is to collectthese monsters. Yeah, yes, yeah,
I have horrible luck with that. But like that's like like I want
the shinies, want the shinies, but ones I do have I got from

(29:30):
trades because I have some good friends. Why do you want shiny ones?
They are like ultra rare. They'relike different versions of the regular Pokemon.
So like that Pikachu. Um,every Pokemon has a shiny version. And
it's like, I think I've doneenough reading online research, but like the

(29:52):
odds of getting one in the wild, they're usually like one out of four
hundred and fifty. Um. Andare they stronger? Are they No?
Most of the time they're actually crappier. It's just the way they look.
They're shiny, sparkly, you know. Yeah, and we just all want
the shiny. Oh here's a fluffy, fluffy man. She was, yeah,

(30:18):
yeah, where mine? Yeah?I don't have any more chicken for
him. Okay, So no,I was just I'm still trying to get
all this. So you want strongpit Pokemon, Yes, the strongest ones
you can get. That's so thatyou can. The point is just to

(30:41):
to to babble and to take overother areas. Is that the point or
to just is it? Is?It kind of like the person with the
most toys wins type of thing.I mean, what's you know? I
mean I know how Cindy gets excitedabout it, and like I played it
for a little bit. It wasn'tthat long, but it's like you know,

(31:03):
you always got like for me,I always got these little I don't
know front where you looking things allthe time and nothing really cool all in
Yeah, I never saw Pikachu.Yeah, you don't see him in the
wild too often unless they're special eventsand then you see tons of them,

(31:23):
like for example, with Halloween comingup, they'll usually do an event for
a week or two where they havespecial spawns and like last year, well
I think every year Pikachu's had adifferent hat, so like one year they
Pikachu had a witch's hat, hasa like a costume variant. So but

(31:45):
in that case, the Pikachu spawneverywhere over that week or two. But
on a normal occasion, Yeah, you don't see him too often, which
is kind of funny because he's kindof the overall mascot if you will,
Okay, so I am actually lookingone hundred and thirteen people in our chat.

(32:05):
Wow, I just counted them funnyupnerdy. So I'm going to mention
a couple of these pokemon and thenyou guys tell me good or bad or
or basically what what? What goodare they? I guess because I'm not

(32:29):
sure. So like a Bulbasore rightbehind you over to the Yeah, i'd
be a good teammate for you.So what are you wearing? I was
like, he's wearing a hat andtie, though, so what is it

(32:50):
good for? Are they good foranything? Because I know I got a
lot of those at one time.M hm. Well. Actually, one
of the um much maligned updates tothe game over the past few weeks was
Mega evolutions. I don't know,yes, I didn't understand it to be
okay, yeah, I don't knowif you have gotten into that Sunday um

(33:12):
that makes Mega Venus or his hisevolved form, like even stronger than he
normally is. Um from a likea fighting perspective in gems or to take
down raid bosses and stuff. It'snot one you would typically use per se,
but Venus or so his evolved formbecause some Pokemon evolve um Bulbus or

(33:34):
turns into Ivysaur, which turns intovenus Or, which is a huge version
of that. Um, he's muchstronger. Yeah yeah, and he looks
huge. Yeah all right, Sowhat about a charm Mander. I have
him charmers right behind in Yeah,he's super cute. I love Charmander me.

(34:00):
I think that was my starter.Actually my starter was Charmander as well,
and I still have him. Istarred him so I didn't accidentally trade
him. Because at first, beforewe knew anything about strength of the Pokemon
in the game and stuff, thepreconceived notion was like, well, the
higher this number they CP, whichis combat power, which is like what

(34:21):
is that? But um so there'slike, oh, if it's a higher
that that means it's it's strong,it's good. But there's this thing called
internal values, which you have todo some like yeah, ivys, so
I'm actually wearing chars slippers, ohmy god, because I can't help myself.

(34:42):
So this is evolved form. Yougot Charmander, Charmelion, and chars
Ard. I feel like Spaceballs,Spaceballs, the toilet papers, you know,
Pokemon, the Slipper. I haven'tseen Spaceballs and so long. Now
I need to go and watch it. Thank you. I appreciate you.

(35:04):
Grab yeah, you go ahead. Now, I was gonna say, you
know how everyone has a mask nowand it's all over your Facebook feed,
so like, and I'm a sucker. I'm like, well, if I
have to wear a mask, Iwant to have something cool on it.
I have an intact one, butI've been seeing ones for Spaceballs theme stuff
and there's a mask that says Spaceballsthe mask. Oh my god, you're

(35:27):
kidding me. That's amazing. Iwas like, I kind of almost want
to get you should that's hysterical.I have my mask that I've been wearing
lately. I have one that haslittle hearts and says love on it.
Then I have one that has trollson it. Oh cool, that's cute.

(35:50):
But but I have a Marvel one. It has iron Man, iron
Man's on there, Black Widow andfour Store on there. No, it's
um my goin, he's one Iwish. Okay, so we're all over

(36:15):
the nerd verse here. Apparently, apparently let's get back to the Pokemon So
what literally literally was hang on?I was literally wearing. I was Marvel
Universe yesterday. I had Spider Manshirt, Spider Man's socks, and I
had my Marvel masko. She's sucha nerd. You really are? I

(36:35):
really am? Okay, So chara charasard a charizard. Okay, it
looks like a dragon. That's whatthe Charmander turns into. Yes, well
it's Charmelion and then charizard. Allright, sure, what about a squirtle

(37:00):
a squirtle, he's right there. You got a squirtle too. Yeah,
he's a little turtle turtle and thatis the one that turns into the blast
blast yes, look at that warand then blast toys. Okay, So

(37:21):
what does a venus sur venosaur isthat we just talked about? That that's
the one the goals of Baldust areOkay, yep, he does sort of
look like I'm I guess No,wait a minute. In the in the
Pikachu movie or Pokemon movie, wasn'tthey like the ones that brought that one

(37:42):
guy's Pikachu back to heal him, wasn't it that? Yeah? Yeah,
look at me, look at someone'swatched the movie. Very nice. I
actually own the movie too, ofcourse, All right, enough nerd,
Yeah I had to. And thenwhen my nephew comes over, I got

(38:04):
him into it now, and yeah, his parents aren't so hyped about that,
So of course, now everything pickatupi and that's super cute. I
blame you and I'm like, you'rewelcome. Is the war total this part
of the squirtles thing? Yeah?I think the second evolution? Okay,

(38:27):
alright. Avolutions are what they turninto when you power them up. Okay,
leveling up? All right? Sorat what is it? Rattata?
Yep, ratta and we like,I like to say, hang on,
hang on, cocoon, no ratattawonderful Jesus Christ, Cindy. All right

(39:00):
about a coc what is the cocuna? It's a weird looking little thing.
Yeah, it's the evolved Yeah wheedle, I was going to say, but
yeah, it's the other version.Yeah yeah, so it's it's kind of
oh, I see what a wheedleis. Okay, that's ugly. Yeah,

(39:20):
it sort of looks like, yeah, it sort of looks like Mathra's
like first form, oh butter freayeah, but Wheedle looks like the the
larva of mathra Um. I havean annoying fly and it's gonna be dead

(39:46):
soon. Okay, So there's asparrow or a spiro spie a pig a
pige meat pig piggy. Yeah, sure, God fo fo fierro comes from
spirit. Okay, all right.I was like, I was hoping he

(40:08):
would get no, I was Iwas thinking that. I was thinking that
there's an arbox which looks like asnake. Ye are funny as if you
belt backwards as cobra what it isin same with akins snake backwards yeaow.

(40:30):
Yeah. I think they had alittle fun when naming them. They did
little things like that. Yeah,I think so. I like the bedroll.
That's so Cocuna turns into bedrill.Oh okay, that's kind of comes
from the you know, evolve fromthat pod into like a wasper bee and
the butter free as a part ofthe weeble thing or wheedle thing. Caterpy's

(40:55):
a little green. It looks likea weedle, but it's green. Gosh,
oh my god. A metapod Aside duck, yeah side, Oh
my god, he's a crazy duckwas in the movie too, don't you

(41:16):
know. It was the detective girl. He blows up or something. He
gets nervous, well, which isfunny because it's a psychic duck. So
side Duck meth Mouth, the talkingcat in the cartoon. I just got
my first. Um, they calledit something else, it was a meoth,

(41:37):
but I didn't see that form ofit. It's a Galaxy Glarian form
Glarian. Yeah, well there's aLowland Meuth in the game and Pokemon go
right now, Um it's a differentvariant. And well, and then you
do have the Glarian one, whichkind of looks like a Viking Actually yeah,
I'm like, what is wrong withits fur? It is not a

(41:58):
happy kiddie. Yeah, it's likeViking meal. That's what I call it.
There's like a lot of like themouk me uk oh, muck muck.
It's a purple slime ball blind ball. But I like, I like
the Lolan form of it. Yeah. Yeah, it's like kind of rat

(42:23):
Is that a part of Yep?That's actually that's what I meant. Yeah.
Wow, I can't believe there's thatmany of these things. Yeah,
I mean there's a full list hereon the internet I'm looking at. Yeah,
there's lots of good resources for thePolka decks is what it's called.

(42:46):
Yeah, and um so that catalogbasically all of the Pokemon and I think
last I checked there's over eight hundred, so this bizarre, Nick says.
Teddy Nick says, like I said, some of the Pokemon are based on
some of the Kaiju from Ah thereyou go. Nice. Yeah, I

(43:13):
see that, because they're they're imean, the one oh what is this?
The the Veno moth does look likeMathra Oh yeah, Venomo yep,
yeah, you know, so theyare kind of you know that way.
Yeah, especially if you look atsome of the legendary Pokemon, which are

(43:37):
like the the really big ones, the really strong tough ones, some of
those, like the dragons and stufflike that. They're they're huge comparison your
favorite Brad Oh boy, I know, right? Is it a cop out
to say Pikachu? Just because Ihave so much Pikachu stuff. I've always

(43:58):
loved art. I mean, hewas my start. I had to have
it in all the games that I'veplayed, of like getting fire starters.
But so last was it last fallwhen this came out, Pokemon Sword and
Shields for the Switch. Oh yeah, So I decided to change it up
because like with all the other gamesI've played in the past, I've always

(44:20):
picked a fire starter. Typically.I actually started with a grass type Pokemon
and it was his name was Grooky, and it was kind of funny because
there was a little monkey with abranch and I don't know, I thought
it looked funny and it was kindof cool. So I'm like, I'll
change it up. Look, butman, favorite, I mean Jeepers,
I don't know, that's a toughone. I mean, I've Pikachu and

(44:44):
Termenter, but I just I justfind this to be amazing because there's there
are like like Cindy, I wastelling Brad this that I was doing the
research. I was like, overeight hundred million downloads of this game,
and it's amazing how many people playit. Like I remember when what was
it called. It was called umit was sort of like that you went

(45:08):
to different locations you look for thesethings and then ingress a no, um
god, no, I can't thinkof it. But you had to go
and find where these people have leftsomething and you had to go and check
it out. Geocashing, Yes,yeah, that's what this reminds me of,

(45:30):
just like with animated things, youknow, I mean, it's it's
crazy. Yeah, more interactive versionof geo cashing. Yeah. Uh,
if you didn't see my comment earlier, Teddy Squirtle is based on Gamera since
he spins when attacks, except hespits water instead of fire. Oh okay,

(45:59):
okay, that's interesting. More Kaijureferences or yeah, yeah, do
you have any three headed dragons? There? Actually is? I think so
there Hydra John. I think that'show you say that Dino evolves his final

(46:19):
four. It's called hydran John.He has three heads. Let's see.
There you go. So there's anotherthere's another part of Godzilla intertwined in this
game. Um yeah, who knew? I mean made like yeah, that's
true, right, yeah, yeah, just called him t Tar But does

(46:47):
spit? Does he spit fire?I think he can learn to move fire
blast in the game, but that'snot the most beneficial move for him because
he's not a fire type. Butexactly, that's just dealing with like,
okay, so what do you meanfire type like they come from different elements?

(47:09):
Yeah, yeah, there's Yeah, this thing gets too there's there's too
much with us, so it breaksdown into elements as well. So early
I remember the website I told youabout, the Pokemon Go Hub. Yeah,
wonderful resource because there's a huge databaseon there and it has all the

(47:29):
generations by list, and it alsobreaks them down by type, so you
can see, you know, allthe fire types, if you want to
see all the electric types, watertypes. What have you um for the
game itself or Pokemon Go itself. It's an awesome resource. Okay, so
what is in your opinions? Then? What is the strongest Pokemon out there

(47:52):
that you can get NT? Imean, is there such a thing?
Yeah, I mean I think everyonejust kind of off the top of their
head says, oh, mewtwo. And with the way the game is set
up as far as like um DPSas they call it, damage per second

(48:15):
when you're doing raids in battles umthey introduced it's probably less than a year
ago Shadow Pokemon just and so withum Pokemon Go Fest usually happens every year
in Chicago, like around Oh youdid, I've been wanting to go to

(48:35):
a real world event. I haven'tbeen to one. Oh my god,
if we would have gone again thisyear. Yeah. So it was worldwide
this year and it was going onwhen we were in Gettysburg. Yeah.
So did you get the Shadow mewtwo? That was like the end research Like

(48:55):
at the end of it, yougot a Shadow mewtwo I don't. Oh
no, let me see. SoSupposedly, according to like the people that
do all the code um, shadowMetwo is supposially the strongest one in the
game right now, even if it'sbad ivs, like a maxed out shadow
Metwo suosedly wipe everything. So yeah, that's good to know. I still

(49:23):
don't. I'm still kind of confusedsetting here, but that's all right.
Yeah, I just don't see thefascination. But like what I said to
Brad, I mean, I collectGodzillas, so it's like to me,
you know, I could sit backand say, what's the strongest Godzilla that
you know in the franchise, youknow, and you know, and go
that route, but I don't becauseit's my favorite godzillas, you know.

(49:45):
It's like that's how we pick them. It's like who's our favorite? Yeah
exactly. I want this shelter tobe shiny, but he's not. Don't
I love the shiny version of himbecause he's orange. He's orange. It's
my favorite color. It's really cool. But like if you evolve them the
shiny form of like, I don'tlike how it you can barely tell its

(50:07):
shiny, Like what is this one? Oh? It's a standler. Oh
wow, don't see those in thewild too often, less around Christmas because
it's kind of like a right pokemonit is. I'll show you my stantler,
all right, so Nick in here, he said categories. I guess
that's what this is is. Ijust caught him. There you go,

(50:29):
Stantler. Let's see normal fighting, flying, poison, ground, rock,
bug, ghost, looks, lookat deer steel water. Here's the CP.
It's combat power up here. Canyou guys see you? Yeah?
Where is it? Yeah? Ten? Twenty? Yeah, and then you

(50:53):
have to look for his IV.Can you guys see it? Yeah?
Five? Is that what it says? One? Or two? And then
you can app get on my stardust. Do you have that? You've
start us? I have about sevenpoint five million stardust? So all right,

(51:15):
so what is stardust used for?So we can power up our pokemon.
Yep, so you that's it's athing they use in the game to
help power up the pokemon. Youneed two things kind of like in game
currency for your Pokemon. You needcandy, what you get from catching more
of the same type, and youneed star dust, which you get from

(51:37):
every Pokemon that you catch. Um. So the more you have that,
the easier it is for you tobe able to power up stuff. Right,
Okay, So Brad, I'm gonnaask how much of us do you
play? A little bit? Oh? That one is a two star,
so yeah, he's less than rightfar as so well play I play a

(52:02):
little bit. Oh, we Tad. So one of the things we do
is we check our pokemon because ifthey're not worthy, we get rid of
them. Yep, we sell theprofessor and he gets smushed. I'm just
kidding. Okay, So what makesthem worthy three stars? Well, if
if you're going to use it forbattling, the higher the star rating the

(52:27):
better because it's stronger to it willtake down things quicker, and it will
last longer in battle. So like, this is what I have. This
is what I have at my housethat I can And so you got Sheldar
season Wheedles. Is that a Baltoy? Yeah? Boy boy? Are you

(52:50):
are you? What level? Areyou? Thirty eight? Thirty eight?
I sing, You're almost there? Can you see it? Yep? It's
terrible hangout. So like that wasone of the other things part of the
game, obviously is collecting the creatures, but also leveling up like kind of
any RPG. You know, youyou want to level up, you want

(53:10):
to get higher, level stronger. There's since the inception of the game,
the cap has been at level forty. Yeah, and I've got enough XP
that I've hit level forty three times. Holy shit, So you do play.
He's a serious player. I ama slacker player obviously, sad enough.

(53:37):
I have friends in my group, like in one of my groups,
like they are like five times that, like they I don't even know how,
but I'm like, you know,and I feel like I play a
good amount. So yes, myniece, she's been level forty for so
long. I actually broke Oh there'smy star date right there, two six

(54:00):
tea two seven eight sixteen. Yeah. Oh show. Um, but I
broke fifty two thousand catches last week. I think, like, holy shit,
what I've caught so far? CanI I just see how many cats?
Nine thousand, nine nine thousand, two hundred and sixty seven you broke

(54:21):
fifty thousand? Yeah? Yeah,I guess he plays. Yeah, he's
you know, there's daily quests andstuff like that, so I make sure
I do those. But um,then they have this buddy system that they
started, so I swap out buddiesprobably five or six times a day to

(54:44):
try and level them up quicker andwow. But yeah, play at least
an hour or two a day.But why do I have a feeling it's
more like four hours. Well,it's on and off, on and off,
you know. Yeah, sometimes it'sway more than four hours. Well,
yeah, like events like this weekendactually is there's a community day,

(55:07):
Yeah, on Sunday and Shiny sobe the first time he's available in the
game. Um, so on communitydays, which happened Polygon Sorry, yeah,
yeah, that was my fault. Those happened once a month. They
have a featured Pokemon and typically inthe past it was for three hours,

(55:29):
but now with the pandemic lockdown stuff, they're trying to make it more accessible
better that now it's a six hourwindow for you to catch stuff. Um,
and they typically release a new Shinyversion of a Pokemon that's not in
game, though they kind of threwthat recipe out the window. Um.
Recently they've kind of rehashed some Pokemonthey've already released. Um, This Sunday

(55:52):
from eleven to five is a communityday, so they have you're like a
you're like a Pokemon expert Brad,Yes he is, he's good. It
stayff to date that that website Imentioned helps a lot, but there's other
resources out there. But just havinga shared interest and having a lot of

(56:14):
friends that play too, we allkind of keep each other up to date
with like hey, did you seethis is coming? Or yeah, yeah
we'll post We'll post it. Likethere's lots of really cool proms and groups.
Yeah, in programs on Twitter andFacebook. Um, they'll they'll put
together like nice infographics for like raidbosses and like what you should use and

(56:37):
what's the best thing and all thisstuff. So find the resources are out
there, which is awesome. Imean, there's so much, like you
said, support behind the game becauseit's so popular like that, you know,
and the fact that it's been goingfor four years, but in Niantic
keeps throwing out events to kind ofkeep it fresh because it can obviously be

(56:58):
very stagnant and just be like, yeah, I'm bored with it. Well,
they're making a ton of money offof it, so of course they're
exactly they're doing something right. Imean billions of dollars on this game.
Yeah, yeah, I know,I've paid for coins oh yeah, Well
there's it'd be impossible to kind ofgo where you want to go. Just

(57:20):
I mean there's you can only earnfifty coins a day as far as a
cap, so it would take foreverto you know. I mean it's all
like with any free to play game. Yeah, depending on you know,
how much you're interested in or whatyou want to put into it kind of
thing. But well do you haven'tDo you have a iPhone or no?

(57:42):
Now I got a Samsung a GalaxyAndroid. Yeah. Yeah, because there's
a big deal because iosh, Appleput out the whole new operating system number
fourteen, and Pokemon wasn't working. If you had updated, you couldn't use
your Pokemon because there wasn't an updatefor that system for Pokemon. Go see

(58:09):
the people that had already downloaded itand didn't know they couldn't play their game.
And there was a big deal, big time on Twitter, I saw
that a lot like please fix iOSfourteen. Please. Like people that had
those phones were like, you know, tagging Niantic and and all that stuff,
saying, hey, guess what thisis. This is a serious game.

(58:30):
This is a serious thing for alot of people. I mean absolutely,
it really is I mean, becauseright here you can see somebody screenshotted
from their phone Niantic support. Ye. Yes, yeah, so it literally
says trainers. Pokemon Go will besupporting iOS fourteen in its next update zero

(58:52):
point one eight seven, which willbe coming out soon. To continue playing
Pokemon Go on your iOS device,we recommend not upgrading your device to iOS
fourteen until Pokemon Go version zero pointone eighth seven is available to you because
it's not working. You can't can'tplay if you update. So when somebody

(59:14):
has updated there, that's how wefound out about it. A couple of
days. Yep, they updated andthey're like, god, damn it,
I can't play my game now.Oh. They were so mad, and
they they're like for all of youguys that have iOS have apples, they're
like, do not update your phone. Do not. You will not be

(59:36):
able to play. Yeah, youcan't fix it? Wow. Yeah,
okay, that's the kinds of thingswe we we update with each other.
You know. So I found myPokemon Go on my left worm shine.
Yep, I found it on mytablet and I forgot that I put it

(01:00:00):
on there. Oh nice? Ohyeah, so I have one of those
warp things. Someone looks like acaterpillar. Yeah, but wormful That's what
I was checking. I was tryingto show one of the infographics that we
have game here all right, aswe all, I'm like, hey,

(01:00:22):
hang on, let me get mygame up in my chan. Yeah,
they haven't updated the load screen ina while. No, they haven't.
I like so ch in Chicago lastyear, it was really cool. They
took all of the the and theymade big, huge pictures of them so

(01:00:46):
you could stand next to them andtake pictures of yourself with the screen.
It was so cool. Like,I suggest you go to especially Chicago.
I got I gotta no, yeah, that doesn't happen to Okay, see

(01:01:07):
this is what I got on myscope. I see a worm ball,
you got the execute and wheedle.Yeah. So and I'm only level fourteen.
I think that's so cute. Andit was fourteen, Like I said,
I gave up on it. Iknow, ow there I am.

(01:01:29):
So there's the shadow mewtwo looks likeyeah, Gratitude and mewtwo and so I
have to look for so there's myYeah, so sixty two million XP Jesus
walked thirty seven hundred kilometers since Istarted playing Holy shit balls, how many

(01:01:53):
kilometers? Thirty seven hundred? Yeah? So Nick the snore X, Yeah,
I do have him right behind youtoo. Yeah over here, Yes,
I love so let's catch him.Didn't see my comments earlier? Oh

(01:02:14):
yeah, yeah, okay, Isaw that one. Oh boy, Nick
says normal fighting, flying poison, ground rock, bug goes steel, the
water, grass, electric, psychic, ice dragon, very dark. I
think there's Pokemon, not cooking man. Yeah, like what Tony originally the
snore lex is not good. He'sa he's cool looking, but he's so

(01:02:38):
cute though. He is, sowe talked about to see you. What
do you want to show for ashiny Oh, here's an infographic. These
are nice. So it shows themega battles yea. And so it goes
through and tells you all about what'sgoing to be available, when it's going

(01:03:00):
to be available, who wear, what, what, what level? What
you'll get? So this is soI don't understand. Befoh that's cool looking.
Yeah, he's so shiny virgin.Yeah, you have one. I
love shiny char I love sin soI love basically he's just a different variant

(01:03:27):
instead of orange. He's black, but he looks even more badass, super
badass, super bad as I loveblack dragons. See one of the things
that got me like like the yourun out of the Pokemon balls and then
you have to purchase them. Yea, well you know you're spinning stops.

(01:03:50):
You got ye spoke stop or greatbattles just to crash the street from me.
So if I zoom out, Um, there's a softball field, and
so there's a gym, and yousee those little blue square things by the
road. Those are called Poka stops, and if you spin them, that's
how you get items. So popularthing to do is to go downtown,

(01:04:15):
which I actually did after work tonight, um because I'd been out of the
house for a little bit. SoI went downtown after work and parked in
the park and there's a plethora ofPoka stops and gems spun all the stops.
When I came home, I hadlike double the amount of poke balls
I had, So that's nice. It's a good way to do it without

(01:04:35):
having for them, because yeah,I don't like to pay for poke balls
for sure. Means I try togo spin the stops and load up on
them that way. Yeah, Ihave a lot of stuff in plus gifts
too. Gifts have been a hugething with like friends on your friends list.

(01:04:56):
It's like last night I was downto probably fifty poke balls, but
I still have over five hundred Altarballs, so I'm pretty much Jesus right.
I opened about twenty gifts or soand I was back well over one
hundred poke balls. So they've donea good job to you know, because
you can't get out as often now. Um you open up a gift and

(01:05:20):
boom, hey there's ten poke bawlsor there's five. That's nice. So
and you can open up the thirtygifts a day, so that helps.
Now, somebody once, I thinkit was Cindy sent me a gift once.
I don't know what happened to it. I don't know it should still
be there. Yeah, you goto your friend's list and the little present.

(01:05:47):
I'm okay, So let me see. If you tap on your little
bubble in the corner the picture ofyour avatar, they will they will bring
up your so on the bottom corner, are you yawning again? The picture
of me with my my little creaturethat I have? Yep? If that
I just got an I'm just tryingto catch a snivy right now, Oh

(01:06:11):
snivey, and you buried it verynice. I have a I don't know
what this creature is. A loomsYeah, that's what my creature is.
However you'd like to. I don'tknow how I got. I don't know
how I got this thing, butI got. Here's my creature. So

(01:06:35):
look it in, poor little snivy. Oh it hang in a second,
Okay, So I go to myfriend's list yep. And then if you
just scroll up and down and youshould see if there's any gifts available.
There's different filters too. In thebottom right, you can search on friendship

(01:06:55):
level, um, most recent thingsof that nature, diz, and I
allow you to. I have somany, like I don't open my word.
I'm bad. I'm really bad. What's cool too? Is your buddy
now? Like? Well, actually, if there's Poka stops near you,
your buddy will go and get giftsfor you and bring them back. Oh

(01:07:19):
my gosh, Peggy and I Ihave one day to become a best friend.
Oh there you go. Well, actually, lucky egg, I open
it. Wait, why should Ido? Yeah? If you want maximum
XP since you're trying to level up? Um, that's one thing we use
the chats for a lot too earlyon. Um, when if you're gonna

(01:07:41):
go ultra or best buddies with someone, using a lucky egg doubles the XP
that you get from any actions youdo. Yes, So when you become
best buddies with someone, God was, it's, um, yeah, I
think you get one hundred thousand XPif you use Yes. I'm definitely doing
that because so a lot of timeswe will coordinate. We'll tag our friend

(01:08:05):
and be like, hey, soand so do you want to go lucky
Now we'll throw an egg on andthen so you both get the extra XP.
Cindy, Cindy, who is rockRebel? Is that Robert? That's
that's Robert sent me a gift.He sent me a couple of blue Pokemon
balls and some stardust. Oh thereyou go. Ye nice, But you

(01:08:30):
want to try and make sure youhave room in your Pokemon like so you
can get an egg that would havebeen from Australia. I do have eggs
from Australia. Yeah, he's yougotta get you gotta get Robert. Don
your I was gonna say you getsome epic distance on that trade. M

(01:08:53):
y see I don't get it.I'm just pushing buttons. It's smash those
buttons, smash them, smash them. Oh oh two blue balls. Somebody
else give it that plus five redballs. More started up. Sorry.
See that's another good way to stockup without heaven done. I'm trying to

(01:09:15):
look for my Oh wait, Ishould look in here, Nick says Teddy,
I got a good Smokemon name foryou. You if you decide to
get more involved. It's so oneof the things that we found out that
when we're looking up information is ifyou're looking up a specific thing, if

(01:09:39):
you want to look up Shiny's,you put shiny in them bless you in
the search bar and bring up allthe shinies. Well, I put in
shadow because I wanted to see myshadow. My shadow move mew two.
So then I just hit okay, and then you can see all my shadow
Pokemon like I don't have very yep. Yeah. That search bars it with

(01:10:03):
the best buddy feature and stuff likethat. You can actually search on buddy
and like a number value and itwill be whether it's a good buddy,
great buddy, best buddy. Um, So like Buddy five, for example,
we'll bring up all your best buddies. So what that's awesome. I
didn't know that currently have I thinklike thirteen best buddies. Soep, that

(01:10:28):
little that little guy that I havethat's like my that alumina whatever is Do
I ever get to change him out? Oh yeah, yep, definitely do
you change him out? So inthe here we go. So in this
lower corner by my by my name, you can see the picture of the
the one. Yeah you can.You can click on that bubble and then

(01:10:53):
he will come up. So hehas a present for me. Shadow media
has a present for me. Um. But if you rule all right,
there you go. If you scrollup, swap buddies, swap buddies,
and then that will allow you topick I just I just made it stronger.
Nice. You can swap your buddytwenty more times today. Yeah.

(01:11:19):
So you can filter through a lotof them throughout the day if you're trying
to level them up. So iswhat is important? Right? Yeah?
Combat power is the So so asyou go through and look and see what
the highest one that I have is. Yeah, if you go to the

(01:11:41):
red poker ball on your screen, which is the middle thing, look at
my my my shadowed mewtube holy crap. Yeah, way better than mine.
I think mine's a two star. But from what I was reading after the
event, supposedly even like the lowestIVY one is still the strongest shadow,
you know what I mean? Like, yeah, better than a good IVY

(01:12:04):
Pokemon because you get the shadow attackbonus and all that stuff. But this
is probably what an eighty I thinkmaybe it's a little better. Well,
three stars at least, right, you're fifteen fifteen ten, so that's probably

(01:12:24):
Yeah, he might be pushing eightyseven ish maybe, which is right.
I'd take that. That's amazing, right, Yeah. If you go to
your Pokemon, you can filter onthe CP between highest and lowest. Yes,

(01:12:45):
I like power, so I havea lot. He can still go
up the life where this is,I can still still power him up quite
good. You know what's cool isif you click the power up thing and
you press on the plus button andjust hold it down, it will tell
you how high it will go andhow much candy you need. Yeah oh

(01:13:09):
wait, yeah, well it saysit's because I need more and I don't
have. I'm all out. Youdon't have crap, So as long as
you have one candy, as longas you have one candy. I'll just
see. Here's a Pikachu with aparty hat. So I tell you,
like, now anything has this thingabout putting hats on Pikachu. Um oh

(01:13:30):
shit, it says I need twohundred and seventy four. So it'll go
up to the all the whole way. That's crazy. It'll be over four
thousand a bet. What Yeah,it says four thousand, one hundred thirty
two. Nice. Okay, Sothe biggest one that I have with the
highest CP is this thing Pikachu withsunglasses. I don't know what this thing
is. It called this like summerPikachu. Which one is summer Pikachu?

(01:13:57):
I missed it? Oh you uhhere go? Oh yeah cute. I
just made him up to thirty eleven. Now, oh, nice, doesn't
tell me what the name is onthis thing that I can see. I
wish we could put like do notpower up or do not purify? Right?

(01:14:18):
Oh well we got Oh you gota cast form, snowy cast form.
That's the highest thing that I haveplenty of room to go. So
I'm trying to find each other. They do a great tie in with like

(01:14:39):
the movie and stuff. So likehere's a detective that you had. M
so cute. One of my friendsthat came out last Halloween was him wearing
this little mimic you. Yes,it's so stinking cute. Like did you
did you get the other ones thatwere wearing like cubone? Oh yeah?
Like, well, yeah you gotthe the Raya lou hat or Lucario hat.

(01:15:03):
Oh, I don't know if Igot that one. Okay, I
need to look it up. Sowhat could I look up? I just
look up? You can? Ithink you can search on costume or with
costume something like that in the searchbar and it will pull up all the
variants. Oh shit, it sayscostume. I just put costume in there.

(01:15:24):
You go. Yep. Well see, I have like all these different
creatures in here that I don't evenremember getting. But um oh right here
Charmander that has Pikachu hat. Yeahyeah, that was a go fest thing.
Yep. Yep. They did thatwith Squirtle too in Balbasore yep.

(01:15:45):
Like anything like under under one hundred, like CP I should get rid of
you. No, not necessarily,It depends if you know, like I
have a soft spot off for someof these costume ones that I try to
achieve um kind of a horder inthe sense of oh I got like,
oh, there you go. Ididn't even realize it. That's awesome.

(01:16:11):
I try to keep it living decks, so I try to keep at least
one or two of every Pokemon typeI've caught, which also caused the problems
for storage, because yeah, Ilike, I'm close to my storage.
Oh my god, yeah, ohmy gosh, I think I'm bad with
mine. Oh, here is anotherone ball the store with um oh,

(01:16:35):
yep, there you go. Ibelieve that was the Nina Ninja Nincada.
Sorry, yeah, I can't thinkNincada mask. And then but I thought,
oh yeah, Squirtle was wearing onthe top at that was just like

(01:16:56):
the Ya mask. Yep. Sohow was the event and Cogo that must
have been really cool, like wehad so much fun. Here's here's another
one with chars with the chars Alove that. Yeah, I think you
has so many costume hats. It'scrazy, I know it. I'm trying

(01:17:23):
to think of like I'm going throughwhat I got, which looks like the
it's like off to the side, right, I had a cubone one and
it was either a cubone costume ora It was either cubone. No,
somebody was in a cubone costume,I thought, trying to remember, but

(01:17:45):
I can't find it. I don'tthink it was cubone in something else.
But either way, I don't seeeither of them. I don't know.
All I know is is I wentfrom this little thing that you know I
had, to this thing that lookslike a goddamn like what they call it

(01:18:08):
a north I'm not. Yeah,it's like a fossil bug type Pokemon.
It's a bug yep. Yeah,it actually evolves into the armaldo. So
it's just like a bigger bug, ginormous welcome, ginormous bug. Okay,

(01:18:30):
So all right, I'm gonna playa commissional real quick, because I didn't
get a chance to while we're talkingbecause we ran over. So hold on
a minute, guys, Oh my, it's too funny. Hey, guys
and dolls. This is Casey Deville, the better half of Deville and Baltimore,

(01:18:56):
Maryland. If you're ever in Baltimorestopping and seeing me an Tony Invisible
Break fifty nine, twenty Eastern Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland, two one two
two four, Give us a callif you're in the area at four one
zero four zero zero nine six oneor look us up on the web at
the billing dot com the Billing butwe specialize in you. That was quick.

(01:19:24):
Yeah, just see how many Ihave? How many I have in
Yeah, here's a cat, here'sanother. Let's see that cats adorable?
Oh boy? Yeah. Well andshe has a natural head tilt. So
her name is Tilty because she alwayslooks inquisitive. And now she loves to

(01:19:47):
be on camera. Hi Katy,I love you. So her head is
always like this and people are like, oh my god, is she okay?
And she's totally fine, but ohyeah, that's a camera. She
might okay, okay, something justcome up and it looks like an egg
and it says, oh a questionmark you Yeah, that's what that means.

(01:20:10):
Yes, yea, yes, yes, y'all. Okay, shiny mojo,
shiny mojohiny mojo. That's why Iwas a Nigorian or liter Yeah,
Tilty, okay, yeah, okay, she's bearing okay, cute. She

(01:20:32):
does this on conference calls at worktoo. She'll just like pop out.
It's like oh hi, yes,hi, buzz box here. Well,
it's funny. I was thinking oneof your friends had mentioned like for your
in game name being like was itted Chow or ted There actually is a

(01:20:53):
pokemon called teddy Ursa. Yes,yeah, so that's good. Yeah,
it's like a Teddy bear kind ofthing, but it turns into a much
bigger bear. Okay, don't knockgo from my laptop, dude. She
just headbutted the screen and tre andI'm like, that would be really good,

(01:21:15):
dope. I saw a potion.Yes, so like sitting here at
my house with like where I'm at, I only had those three things.
So unless I go somewhere, yep, I don't you know, I won't
catch any more, but I'll neverget to the point where you guys,
well, one thing that helps alot with that is Incense. Um one

(01:21:42):
of the big changes, and I'mhappy they made this change in the past.
So it's something that runs for thirtyminutes, and it used to only
spawn one Pokemon every five minutes,so you'd for over the half hour you
get six pokemon, which is like, man, it's better than nothing if
you're not getting spawns. But nowIncense they have them spawned. They buffed
it. So it runs for anhour and the Pokemon spawned like every minute

(01:22:06):
or minute and a half, Soif you have any incense, you have
the opportunity to catch a crap tonof Pokemon Internet. I just missed the
chance for a vault picks. Ohit was right here, and I just
tried to catch it with a balland actually escaped. Cute, and I
haven't a Lowland vulp cutey and Ilove the Loland form of it. He's

(01:22:34):
wearing a little snowcape. But yeah, yeah, this is so cute,
dude, I have she's pairing thewhole time. I just don't want to
hit the power button or something. So while we're sitting here chatt and talking
about all that, we all getlost in this for a little bit.
But um, it happens, Yeah, I guess. I mean, so

(01:23:00):
these parties like bread that you weretalking about, you guys get together,
and so you said you could getup to thirty forty people at one of
these parties just to walk around forhours to play this game. It's been
a while since we've had like numberslike that, for sure. Yeah,
number those numbers haven't been for awhile. Yeah, you know, um,
but easy could do that. Ohshe's bringing you like Community Day on

(01:23:26):
Sunday, for example, Like atthe event runs from eleven to five.
Um. On times that I actuallydo get to play, I don't.
I usually do a lot of differentthings on the weekend with my wife,
we go and do stuff, SoI might miss the events a lot of
times on the weekends. Um.But when I do get a chance to
play it, typically i'll you know, I'll get a camelback full of water,

(01:23:47):
I'll get some battery packs with me, some charger chords, and now
my mask. Go downtown and justwalk up and down the street for a
few hours, and you'll run intohandfuls of other players and oh would break.
Um it holds my phone up.The side that holds it literally just

(01:24:08):
broke off, snapped it off. That's so weird. Look I'll show you.
Oh you know what, I don'tknow if it'll come off. Oh
yeah, well, okay, brokenbroken gorilla glue maybe that's yeah, I
have some. But this is bullshit, like how you pokemon go. Yeah,

(01:24:38):
you're a little aggressive at that attackunfortunately. So look this is the
side that it So you pull thisside and like I have that in my
car, like you put it inthe mountain you push back and then the
bars come in and like'll hold itin place that looks kind of something like
that, but if you snap it, then it's kind of useless. Yeah,

(01:25:02):
super useless. Motherfucker's Yeah, I'mso cute, Like I have a
bad mouth. I'm fine with that. She broke it. I am.
I'm gonna start a revolution. Nowthere you go. What do we want?

(01:25:27):
Better phone mount charger? That's alot to put on a sign to
hold up you know, cheap phonemount holder thing on the hoosiers. Yeah,
all right, So this is alittle weird show for me. And
this is you know something. Imean, I don't normally do the whole
game thing like this. I meanI played. Cindy got me into it

(01:25:48):
once when we were in Gettysburg. We drove around and she played and what
we're doing. Yeah, I mean, I pretty much just want to know
the fatuation with it. And Ican't unders stand some of it because the
characters and all that. But atthe same time, if you're not a
Pokemon like nerd, I guess thebest way to put it, understanding some

(01:26:11):
of the stuff could be difficult.I guess, you know, so,
And I'm learning a little bit fromyou guys tonight, so, which is
great. But am I still gonnaplay Pokemon? I don't know. I
mean, it's it's one of thosethings. But what really interests me was
the fact that there was over eighthundred million downloads. I mean, that's
just amazing of how many people wereplaying this game. I remember when Nintendo

(01:26:33):
came out, I mean the veryfirst Nintendo people were buying that up crazy
and playing things like, oh yeah, that was that. And in the
days you're way too back in theday, it was a stick on each
side and you moved it and ithit a little ball across the Oh yeah,

(01:26:55):
that's it. You know, thatwas so much fun. Listen in
on the comedy sixty four. Ourdad, my dad used to buy PC
magazine and you could They would putin game sequences so you could put You
would have to put all of theinformation in, and if you got one

(01:27:19):
farging thing wrong, the game didn'twork and you'd have to start all over
downe. So we would Dad andI would sit there and put all of
this. We would code. Basically, we were coding and putting. But
it was great because you could gofrom this to here, and you could

(01:27:39):
code it and you'd get a wholegame. We had one of the best
games. It was this mouse Mazegame and it was so much fun and
it was even even more better becauseI coded it with my dad. It
was amazing. Says. I willsay that counts that were maxed out when

(01:28:00):
Pokemon Go was at its peak. We're going for tens of thousands of dollars.
Oh, when people were buying them, you mean selling them on eBay
probably and stuff. Yeah, Ijust I just missed another creature. It
looked like a tiger. It wasan electra something. Oh elect the buzz

(01:28:20):
Yeah, it was a tiger lookingthing. Yeah. Apparently my Pokemon balls
can't hold them. So you know, well, uh got there right,
the blue balls would have done it. Yeah, well depending on how what
was How do you change into theblue balls? Yeah? If you when

(01:28:43):
you're on that screen, you canclick on your balls and switch. You
can also feed it a berry tomake it more. Yeah, there's different
berries that helping catching. There's somethat will double the candy, there's some
that will hire catch rate. Wecall it catamine ball. We Yeah,
so you click on the little redwhite ball, right, the catmine balls.

(01:29:08):
That's the balls. It's his hirical, isn't it? That special caballs?
Is that? That's what we callit, the special caball. Okay,
So I clicked on the red andwhite ball. Yep, did you
see the blue one and the yellowone? I don't see any It goes

(01:29:30):
right to Poke decks, Battle Shop, Pokemon items. Okay, so it's
when you're on the Okay, herewe go. So when you're on the
catch screen, So here you go. I have a swin up in the
bottom corner you have your poke balls, and then the other side you have
bear. I don't see that. What do you mean catch screen? Oh?

(01:29:50):
When when you tap on it?Oh, so you got to do
it when you're on that when thatcreatures there? Yeah, nobody. I
have none buddies, so okay,oh shit, look at all those balls.

(01:30:11):
So there's a few balls. Lookat all your balls. Well there's
lots of balls there. Well thatI got weak balls. So then you
got lots of berries that you canuse. Yeah, here's my balls,
gold raspberries, silver pin at berries. Oh you need more ultra balls,

(01:30:33):
yes I do, but again I'malready Oh I'm under Oh I can go
buy that now. Yay, Igot to go to the shop and get
my free box. Oh yes, yeah, there's a daily free box.
Now I'm still over. Let's see, I have eighteen blue balls and fifteen

(01:30:54):
regular balls. Come on, needmore gas, need more stops. So
what did you say was free everyday? Yeah? So they added about
well they did. They did itin tests early on, um, about
two months ago. I think afree box in the store daily. There's
not a lot of stuff in there, but you get a little bit.

(01:31:15):
So that's cool, A little bit. Where is that? Yeah, so
if you go to the shops, are you okay, don't you go here?
Okay, to the shop. Youhave to press that button and then
you go to your shop. I'mon the back room. I'm seeing it
back right in the middle. Okay, so the shop is here, Yeah,

(01:31:39):
that's right in the middle. Adaily free Yeah, yeah, there
should be a free box. Usuallyit's a handful of balls, maybe a
couple of potions. I like ahandful of balls, one raspberry, one
ball, and something else. Ihave no idea what it is. Probably
a potion of some sort. Youmissed it again, you missed it.

(01:32:00):
I know because I'm trying to dothis backwards. There, there did it.
Finally, there's your freebee box.So yeah, if you tap on
that, it will show you thecontents of it before you claim it.
But it tells me I can't.I can't. Yes, well no it's
not completely full. I have Ihave a full bag. She has a

(01:32:24):
full bag. We got blue busfull bag. But I can't. I
can't get rid of anything unless Ijust go and take something out because I
don't have anything around me. Youcan dump some yeah, some rasses or
some potions I have like raspberries.Yeah, I'm going to dump a couple
of potions right now. What's arad pass? Raid pass? That's what

(01:32:46):
you need to actually do those battlesin the gym, well, like the
bosses anyway, Like if if thegym, so there's three different teams,
there's like a red team, ablue team, and the yellow tea team,
UM, And based on what thecolor of the gym is, you
can either potentially put something in itif it's your own team and it's not
full, or if it's a differentteam you can battle it um. But

(01:33:11):
if there's a boss in there, that's when you use the raid pass to
get like legendaries or um. Youknow they have a rotation of raid bosses.
Yeah, they have tier ones, tier threes and tier fives. Um.
And to buy it right now,it's getting your free box three box
wait wait wait free right yeah,so you actually do get one free raid

(01:33:40):
pass a day. Um, soyou can can't. I can't buy passes
right now? Oh the remote yesfor one point that's at because I have
three already. Yeah. Yeah, once you get down as long as you're
less than three, then you canget it. So I only have one
one one of the green passes.I don't have a green one. I

(01:34:02):
just have the orange one. Yeah, I think it's orange. Yeah,
the orange is the freebie. It'sthe one free that we get into.
Oh yeah remote three remote passes.Yeah, so you get it. So
you have to have coins to getthat though, yeah, yes, for

(01:34:27):
the Teddy has no coins. Don'tknow, no, I don't even know
how you get them. So youget them by right now. And there's
talk of them revamping the system, but right now it's by putting your Pokemon
in a gym, and the longerthat they stay in the gym, the
more coins you get. Um.If it gets knocked out, then you

(01:34:47):
get your coins. You can onlyget fifty a day unfortunately, but that's
the only way you get coins isby putting your pokemon in a gym.
Yep, what if they don't wantyou to put it? What if they
don't want somebody has the gym andthey don't want. Yeah, So how
it used to be is you couldum get fifty coins a day no matter

(01:35:15):
how long you were in there. So if you were in there for three
days, you got fifty coins foreach day. Well then they changed it
and made it that if you werein there for three days, you only
got fifty coins. But I thinkit switched back now, didn't it.
It's now again, Well you onlygot a fifty cap a day. So

(01:35:38):
it all depends when you get knockedout. So like, um, after
work, I went and took downlike four gyms, so I had stuff
in four gyms. Unfortunately, someonekicked me out within like fifteen minutes,
so I got like two So Iwas like, okay, that's cool,
thanks hi five um. But I'vebeen other gyms. For the longest time

(01:36:02):
I've been in the gym uninterrupted,I think was like one hundred ten days.
It was. Yeah, it wascrazy. It was went to this
golf course with my buddies. Itwas like in October, and so the
clubhouse was closed with I said,as long as the flags were still out
there, you guys could play.Just go walk obviously, no golf carts
or whatever. And there just happenedto be a Pokemon gym at the clubhouse.

(01:36:26):
So before we left, I waslike, oh, what the hell.
So I took down the gym andI threw a Pokemon in it,
you know, And this golf coursewas kind of in the middle of nowhere,
and so it came to a pointwhere I'm like, okay. And
so this was like in October, but of course, you know, winter
comes like no one's going to thisgolf course. And I think I got

(01:36:46):
my Pokemon back in like April orMay or something like. Thankfully, it
wasn't like a Pokemon that I plannedon using in raids and stuff that would
have sucked. But somebody please gothere and knocked me out exactly. That's
what we do. We go intoour game and we're like, go knock
me out or sometimes sometimes second sometimesthey've made people that I know have made

(01:37:13):
second accounts. Oh yeah, Ican opposite color. So they connect themselves
out yea, yeah, a lotof players have all accounts. But I'm
like, I don't know. Ihave one phone and I know my luck.
Yeah, no, I just haveone account because I play all the
time on it, like I yeah, see, I knew it was more

(01:37:33):
like four hours a day. Iknew it. H whatever. Yeah,
but yeah, I don't think.I don't think Pokemon is going to stop
anytime soon because there are there aremany, many, many people playing this
game. And Brad, ye,what do you think. Do you do

(01:37:55):
the Harry Potter too? Um?I did when it first came out.
Um. And so then the funpart is I mentioned like all my breaks
at work and we'd go out, like two or three of us would go
out together, take our lunch togetherbreaks, and it was like, well,
what are we playing on break? Are we playing Harry Potter or Pokemon?
It was like switching back and forthbetween the two, and it did
the Harry Potter for a little bitand stuff like that, and look,

(01:38:18):
oh this is kind of cool.I can kind of sustain. No,
And then I haven't touched it forever. So yeah, it's still on my
phone. Strange enough, it's stillthere. But I haven't locked into it
and forever um, but I meanit seemed really cool. One of the
things that's funny, of course, you know, like it's just made by
the same company, it's Niantic,So it's like some of the stuff that's

(01:38:41):
in that game versus Pokemon Go,it's like, well, why can't we
have that in this game if youalready have it in that game? Exactly?
That's the quality of life. Yeah, yeah, there's some cool stuff
Harry Potter that we can't do.Oh yeah, And I'm like games less
than a year old and you canalready skip rate dimers. I'm like,
why can't we have that pokemonco exactly? How we standing in the rain waiting

(01:39:08):
for a rate to SAA and you'relike, because I'm that guy, Like,
I'll go it's crazy. It'll beyou know, if I'm at work
and it's middle of February and it'sstung out, I'll just bundle up and
I'll go out there with a stylistand gloves on, and I'll be out
there playing like that guy's nuts. But yeah, I used to go with

(01:39:29):
a few of my friends. Icall them my pokey host. There were
three three younger guys that I wouldgo play with and we would we would
go after they got out of work, so they'd get out of work at
like eleven twelve o'clock and then thethree of us would go play. The
four of us would go play, and it was a lot of fun.

(01:39:53):
I just popped a balloon by accident. According to my my my tablet,
I have one of these things. It's got like a thousand sounds on it,
and I was trying to go throughit and I accidentally hit popped a
balloon again. Okay, I likewhat ominous music? Yeah? So literally,

(01:40:15):
um, we would go to playPokemon like midnight, walking around our
small town, and then we'd playedto like three in the morning. So
I called him my poke hose pokes. Yep, there's not a bunch of
zoo bats just flying over. Yeah, it was bats. I couldn't believe
you picked that out. That wascool. But I also kept it with

(01:40:35):
a Pokemon reference by sayings exactly, zoo dad, I knew what you were
doing. Apple. Yeah, you'regood. Good. Yeah. Booing fans
at a sporting event. Wowow nice, he's getting overwhelmed by the balls.

(01:41:00):
Nick says, all that I canI could break the glass. Damn right,
Then I said, damn right atthe same So you're married though,
right, you guys are married?Or no, you're not married. Yeah,
so I'm This is the thing isshe puts up with your your Pokemon

(01:41:26):
addiction she does? Does she doit too? Or no? Unfortunately not
like she did for a bit,but like a lot of other people,
she kind of got bored with itbecause it was something that like I already
liked from the onset and knew about, so I was really excited for it,
and I was like, holy crap, this is gonna be amazing.
And it was something that she waskind of like checking out and like learning

(01:41:49):
about it, but didn't really knowtoo much about it. So she was
cool for a bit and then kindof was like, all right, I'm
kind of bored with this and thenleft it alone. And then she kind
of came back and played for acouple more weeks and then left again.
So every once in a while she'llpull it up. Um. What's funny
is so this game came out rightaround the time we got married actually,

(01:42:12):
and we went our honeymoon. Wasour honeymoon was out in Vegas, so
we're out in Vegas on our honeymooncatching Pokemon. So so we're like,
holy crap, we're at the Hooverdam What kind of Pokemon are at the
Hoover Damn? Andion and stuff likethat, so that you that was part

(01:42:33):
of the fund. It was like, well, I wonder what Las Vegas
has for Pokemon spoiler alert tons um, you know, tons of tons of
gym, tons of Poka stops. You know, yeah, you would think,
I mean plice, like you knowany ex Boston. Boston is crazy
for like you know, I betChicago must be nuts. Chicago was nuts.

(01:42:59):
It was awesome though. We hadso much fun there. I actually
recommend it and have your wife doit too. Yeah, I would love
to go to a like the closestone that got to us. I think
it was last year they did somethingabout Montreal and I'm that's only about like
four maybe it's about five and ahalf hours away from here, but um,
you know, I was like itwas like a Safari Zone event.

(01:43:21):
It wasn't. Yeah, actually wasn'tgo fast, but it's still like a
ticketed event in a huge part andstuff like that with special spawns and wouldn't
the one in Pennsylvania. You've beenbeen closer for you for I think that
was in Philly, right, Ithink. No, he's in Maine,
so he's in May. I'm actuallya main Yeah, so right, Granted

(01:43:45):
with some stops, it took usalmost twelve hours to get there, because
New York could be a lot closerthan Gettysburger, Pennsylvania. Yeah, Albany
is about six hours from here,So that explains why I can hear Canadian
accent. Ah. Well, Iwas just gonna say, my folks actually
live in Canada, and when Igo visit them, it's about a twelve

(01:44:06):
hour drive because I gotta go allthe way across the state of New York
through Buffalo into Niagara Falls, acrossthe border which is currently closed. Yeah.
Yeah, you can't even see yourparents. No, I haven't seen
him since Christmas. But I'm sorry, Brian. Yeah, it was tough.
My my uncle passed away back inApril May and they had a service

(01:44:31):
funeral for him last weekend, butit was in Montreal area and you can't
cross the border, so I didn'teven go for that. Sorry. I
kind of stunk. Robert. Soyou were born in Canada, gun?
Huh? No strange enough. Alot of friends joke about that. They're
like, well, dude, you'reCanadian, right, because my mother's Canadian.

(01:44:51):
But I was born in northern NewHampshire in the White Mountains, but
not too far from Canada. Soit's so funny because how thick your accent
is. I can hear so muchCanadian in your voice because I was like,
wait a second, I thought itwas from Maine. Yeah. Yeah,
I lived in Maine longer now,so I've lived in Maine over twenty

(01:45:14):
years now. Okay, So RobertWhite, I gotta get to his comment.
He says, vacuum cleaner pokemons arehoovers. Yeah, that's Robert.
You know how Robert is? Andhe said, oh, Ted cotta womble
today? According to mine, howdoes he know that what I caught?

(01:45:35):
Because it says it on our friendslist? Yeah, like you can actually
that's a feature you can turn on. You can actually see what your friend
last caught. Yeah, well thatkind of sucks. I don't anybody knowing
what I caught. Well, youcan turn off stop it that that's a
feature that you can't actually turn off. So like on the top of my

(01:45:59):
friend's you can see it doesn't they'renot sharing, but they're sharing. Hey,
they caught a mysterious they caught anivy. Oh they didn't, you
know? So well, see there'sso much to learn with this, I
mean, and that's why you knowI will never be an expert of Pokemon.
My Lowland Retta just fled. Ohright, I'll try a p do

(01:46:27):
Oh it could be shiny. Itcould be shiny, I know. Tom
says, oh, now, let'snot talk about all that Teddy caught.
Not that he's referring or I haveno idea, but it also says that
people are crazy crazy Pa. Peopleare crazy. He's from Pa. Oh

(01:46:51):
is he as gonna say? Well, I'm not in Pennsylvania's I guess I'm
in the clear. I love.I want to try that. We don't
know if I've had a legit,Like that's one thing. I Oh wait,
did I get a cheese steak?I must have? But yeah,
yeah, but I'm making an awesomecheese steak. Huge fan. Nana berries

(01:47:16):
are what we call special berries.Well, I hear the music I do
too. That may be so excited. Have you guys heard that? Yeah?
Yeah, so in Chicago you wouldhear that playing all the time,
so it literally is so excited, like he was a b and you're like,

(01:47:39):
it's really cool when there's a groupof people out and you're all just
like talking about it, like oneof the biggest things early on in your
nearby, Like if there was ashadow on your nearby, that means it's
a poke one you haven't caught yet, so it's in theory, it's a
new one to you. Um yeah, I remember that. It was like,
holy crap, there's a shadow oflike a tarmander outside, and like

(01:48:01):
everyone would like like let's take breaknow, like leave the office, and
like ten of us would go outsideand go try and catch this thing.
And like that was like the firstsummer it was out, so like everyone's
office was playing and it was likemass exodus, let's go catch this but
so much but then you drag somepeople back. Yeah, that's part of

(01:48:23):
the fun. Is I like gettingfriends who used to play back into it.
I'm like I'm still playing joining me. Wow, I feel like it's
you. You're bringing people to thedark side, right, we have cookies.
Well times is a cheese steak fromGettysburg is not not not a real

(01:48:45):
cheese steak just that and used tobe in Philly to get a real one.
There you go. Unfortunately, myexperience in Philly has only been in
an airport. I haven't been inthe actual city itself. I don't think.
Um yeah, I've never been toPhilly at all. Yeah, just
like hopping airlines and stuff as Ihaven't had the opportunity to actually be in
the city and get some and Robertssays, ballbus were just fled here,

(01:49:11):
but he caught a gulpin caught inmy great ball excuse me, oh nice.
Yeah, it's like it's a littlegreen blob thing and it's funny.
When he opens his mouth, there'sa well I just tried my Pokemon again,
so that's the noise that you heard. But it said my GPS isn't
working. It was fine before.I don't know if that's going on with

(01:49:31):
I know, yeah, like ifthe if you're on Wi Fi and it's
body, it will do that,or if your phone is being stupid,
like I hate when it does thatbecause of course it's gone off of location.
So you need a GPS working something. You guys want to hear something
funny. They happen to go fastOh yeah, so I live in am.

(01:49:56):
I live in a small town Ilive in It's called Wlliamson, New
York. But I grew up basicallyin Ontario. I moved here when I
was in tenth grade, like inOctober. Moved to Ontario, New York
and lived there. I graduated there. My daughter went to school and graduated

(01:50:17):
their same school I did, right, And you know, I always had
her friends around and stuff like Dan. They always knew me. Especially.
They would always say, you're thewitch from Halloween because I would always dress
up as a witch for Halloween forthe kids. Right, and you're you're
Jesse's mom. You're the witch fromHalloween. Like that's what they would always

(01:50:41):
say. I'm like, yes,I go to all the way to Chicago
from upstate New York, right outsideof Rochester. And now I haven't seen
some of Jesse's friends for quite awhile because you know, this is ten
years that she's been graduated now actuallyeleven years this year. And um,

(01:51:03):
it was so crazy because uh,I go all the way to Chicago and
I just happened to be I'm like, mom, I need to eat,
we need to go eat. Sowe've found someplace to eat like just those
trucks, you know, the trucksthat they would have good trucks. So

(01:51:24):
you had to literally like like beatpeople so you could sit at a spot
just because there were so many people. Yeah, and you needed to try
and sit to eat just for afew minutes because you you're on your feet
for hours and hours and hours. It's like a twelve hour day, it
really is. So I finally sitdown and and I'm talking to the woman

(01:51:49):
that sits next to me, andmy mom is across from me, and
I start talking and a guy sitsnext to um or him, I don't
remember. So this person gets upand leaves, and and this person so
but they had heard something. Theysaid, did you say here from on
from Wayne County? I go yeah, And I'm looking at this kid and

(01:52:14):
I'm like, god, damn,he looks so familiar, like it's so
weird, like maybe he's just gotone of those faces like me. People
will say the same thing to me. Well, so I'm like, yeah,
we're from a little town in NewYork, upstate New York. It's
um you know, I live inWilliamson. He's like, no way.

(01:52:34):
And my mom had said she livesin Ontario and he says, no way,
my grandmother lives there. And we'relike stop it. He's like,
no, I'm not kidding. Shelives on blah blah blah road. And
we're like, oh my god,you really do know what you're talking about.
He's like, yeah, I wentto school there too. I'm like,
wait a second, stop it.You went to school. I'm like,
you went to Wayne Central. He'slike yeah, I said, so

(01:52:55):
did I and so did my daughter. He goes, wait, who's your
daughter? So I said what yeardid you graduate? He said, uh,
two thousand and nine. I'm like, stop it. That's the same
year my daughter graduating. He's like, who's your daughter? I go Jessicut
and and he goes, oh mygod, I'm just it. Oh wow.
I literally went, you know, half of the country over and saw

(01:53:21):
one of the kids that I watchedgrow up with my daughter. That's crazy.
It was the craziest thing. I'mlike, oh my god, I
knew you looked so familiar. Ithought I was crazy all over Pokemon crap
through Pokemon. We were all wewere all playing Pokemon and that's what he

(01:53:43):
was doing too. Crazy crazy, right, They're like a two day event
over a weekend, and I don'tknow if this was a four it was
four day event and you couldn't getone day, right, yeah, people,
But I think over those days theythey for attendance, they get like
over fifty thousand people. I thinkit's something crazy, incredible. It was

(01:54:06):
incredible. The amount of plas loveto go to one of those would be
crazy. Seeing this is the reasonwhy this game is still so fucking popular.
It is because there's all these bigevents that keep pushing it like that
and stuff exactly. Oh my god, all right, well, you know
what. I'm good. We weresix minutes to end of the show.

(01:54:28):
I mean normally I only do ninetyminutes instead of two hours now, but
I mean that's I can't believe wetalked that long about Pokemon pokemone poke Ball.
Am I he's got a poke ball? Yeah, that's on the onesie.
That's I und zipped it because it'sso damn hut. You have the
sleeves and of course there's the thumbhole. I love that. Where do

(01:54:51):
I told he's just a big kid, that's all he is. Yeah,
numerous times me, so I'll turnaround. So you wanted to see the
yeah, yeah, I actually gotthis. I think I ordered it online

(01:55:15):
from game Stop, um Stomp orNewberry Comics, some one of my favorite
gigi stores. Um, but like, was that the mall for the first
time in like six months last weekend? And um I went into Newberry Comics
and they had a onesie for aCharisard and an EV and I was like,

(01:55:39):
don't do it, don't do it, Like yeah it was. I
didn't, But I want mine,right, I would. I would want
the ev one I love so much. So many Pokemon people have these things.
Mm hmmm. Do you think there'sa lot of people that stuff?

(01:56:00):
I really I'm talking about that.I don't have Pokemon stuff like I have
I have. I mean I havemore things like for Marvel, like sure
nice Spider maintain or something. Ihave wonder Woman's stuff and oh nice.
Yeah I got a ton of Pokemonstuff obviously. Yeah, yeah, we

(01:56:21):
saw that. Ye. Funco ofcourse is a huge Yes, money sank
so I got all kinds of variancewith Funco. Nice. Listen the next
thing, Brad all you the nextitem s DCC, DCC San Diego Comicon,

(01:56:45):
San Diego Comic Con. It wasso much fun. I've been there
three years in a row. Idid it, and that's another thing I'd
love to I've never been to likea con like that. And now Boston
tries to do one, you know, chicag all the big cities next.
We wanted my best yeah, yeah, my best tea. Well, New

(01:57:11):
York is getting bigger than San Diegoactually really so, and we're trying.
We wanted. We were supposed togo last year. We last minute and
then yeah, and we were goingto go to New York this year,
but COVID happened. So yeah, son of a COVID York, son of
a covidd. Okay, guys,I'm going to end the show about Poke.

(01:57:38):
Thank you. It was so muchfun talking. I love it was
it was I love Leaf too.Yeah, yes, well, yeah,
thank you for having us on.Yeah. I'm trying to think what even
compares to Pokemon out there in games. I don't know. I don't know,

(01:57:59):
Like it's Fortnight and I don't know. There is a lot of stuff.
I have talked about that before alot of people Fortnite and yeah,
it's not the same though, becauseyou actually go out into the world with
a right Pokemon. Well, that'sone of the things too, Like Minecraft
is still huge too. Yeah,Minecraft, I thought I saw something recently.

(01:58:23):
I don't know if it was withMinecraft, that they're supposed to try
and do like an aar thing aswell, really like that. I think
that they were trying to work ona game like that. Every once in
a while you'll see an article popup from Google's like so and so is
trying to do like a Pokemon Gogame, and of course none of them
are anywhere near as popular. Butno sort of a ball blue ball,

(01:58:51):
all right. So if anybody's interested, Pokemon Go and you want to find
us in Pokemon Sorry, Pokemon Go. Go to Pokemon Go Hub. You
can check out all that stuff there. There's also Pokemon Live UM that you
can check out. There's Pikachu breadand Pikachu um. You can check that

(01:59:13):
stuff out. Pokemon. I'm stillnot convinced. I still have it on
my I don't know why I nevererased it from my tablet. Still there,
You come back and play. Youkeep that up. You're gonna have
to start watching what I watched, like What We Do in the Shadows.

(01:59:33):
I love that series. What isthat? It's called what You Do in
the Shadows. Yeah, you canlook at it, but I think it's
Netflix or Hulu or something like that. But what we do in the Shadows,
Yeah, it's silly vampire skits andstuff, but it's it's a lot
of fun. It's a lot offun. It's a lot of fun.

(01:59:56):
But the current guilty pleasure is CobraKai. I've been watching. I have
not seen that yet. Everybody's tellingme about it. So is what's his
name in there? Macho in there? Yeah, yep, I did not
know that. What's his name? The blonde kid? Ye? Well he's

(02:00:17):
a man's Oh yeah, yep.We have to get Netflix to get him.
Yeah, they've done a really goodjob with it, Like we're totally
sucked in the cool part. They'relike twenty five minute episodes. But they
watched, they watched like a movie, and like it's there's tons of nostalgia.
You know, you saw those moviesgrowing up. Karate Kid that subsolutely

(02:00:38):
but oh my god, yeah,it's really good. All right, Well,
I'll have to check it out andmaybe we'll do a show on that.
Who knows. It doesn't matter whatwe do in the Shadows exactly.
You guys got to check that out. It's a really cool show. So
on that note, I'm going toleave you with saying remember to take care

(02:00:59):
of yourself, but while you're takingcare of yourself, take care of your
neighbors because that is important as well. Thank you, sim Me, Thanks
