Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff met with Russian officials in Saudi Arabia to establish a “consultation mechanism to address irritants to our bilateral relationship with the objective of taking steps necessary to normalize the operation of our respective diplomatic missions.”

U.S. District Judge Dale Ho ordered the DOJ to appear in Manhattan federal court to explain its reasoning behind its motion last week to drop the case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who has faced corruption charges.

The Department of Education has ended more than $600 million in grants to groups that trained teachers and educational agencies in “divisive ideologies.” The canceled grants went toward things like workshops grounded in Critical Race Theory and professional development focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

The Department of Government Efficiency announced that it had uncovered a significant tracking gap in the Department of Treasury’s funding. The Treasury Department uses an “identification code” to link its payments to budget line items. However, DOGE discovered that this tracking code was optional for approximately $4.7 trillion in expenses and was often left blank, rendering the funds nearly impossible to trace. As of now, the code is no longer optional. This change resulted from a combined effort among the DOGE, the Treasury Department, and the Federal Reserve.
