Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Tattooing Suns a pop culture podcast. The only
fan cut podcast cod past cop cast cop podcast to
name is Cannon Star Wars Creature and to be endorsed
by the writer director of The Last Jedi, Ryan Johnson.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
At last, we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
By now, almost everyone who wants to see ded Pool
Wolverine has seen it any more than once. Yeah, like yeah,
we're included in that. As of the second weekend, it's
projected to have exceeded seven hundred and fifty million dollars worldwide.
Impressive and as well on its way to becoming the
number one R rated movie.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Of all time. Most impressive.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
In today's episode, we will share our top ten moments
from this movie and why do we believe it did
something seemingly impossible. This is Tattooing Sons.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
It's true. True. Was the name of the pork on
the Millennium Falcon Force the storm in my family? What
do you think his name is? That's a big moment.
(01:07):
I am a Jedi like my father before me. Maybe
Turbis do I'll do not It means no, try Turbis Pablo.
If you're listening to this live stream. Bat Pork's name
(01:30):
is now Turbius. It's a good star Wars name were
not done yet.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
These guys recorded Blosso podcast called Tattine.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
So everybody was packed. Yeah, it was. It was a
lot of people, for sure. This was the last time
we were packed out. I don't know, I'd be probably back. Yeah, Batman,
maybe you were. We were in the back. Remember we
couldn't get great tickets for that first night. Was it
a I feel like Across the Spider Verse was pretty
big too. Yeah, it was pretty full, but I don't
(02:06):
know it was the same. I don't know if Batman was.
That was a special like premiere night. It was like
it was a really big day. So it was a
lot of fun. I know that Ryan Reynolds shared a video.
I think I shared it in our group if you
did chat where he shared a video about this is
why we do what we do basically, and it was
people seeing I guess it was when Wolverine Down's the Mask.
It must be. It felt like it because of the song.
(02:27):
It was like a prayer that was playing right. It
was either that or probably the Johnny Storm. No, but
it was like a prayer playing in the background. So
that's like when he puts on the mask for the
first time and people like losing their stuff in the
impact out theaters and he's like, this is why we
do it. That was a lot of fun. Yeah, that
was pretty cool conversation anyway.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
But welcome to Datoen Sons Pop Culture Podcast. We believe
that pop culture is the mythology of this generation, that
there's a story, it's written on our souls, and then
these myths speak.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
To that story.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
And amazingly that's why we're talking about Deadpool and Wolverine.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Doesn't really fit.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
This is and how it strangely found a way to
be a very self contained film that at the same
time expanded the mythology of the MCU while making fun
of its missteps the whole time.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
Such a weird it was are before we get into it,
cause I just say this, I know there are some people,
like especially some people that like are really connected to
us and following us on multiple platforms and like interacting
with us that maybe are like, I am really very
surprised that you a went to see Deadpool and Wolverine
(03:39):
and that be you guys are talking about it as
much as it Yeah, it is this is not if
you have a hard time, same thing. I always do
talk my way out of it. And this is not
normally what we would we would like participate in these
types of things. I mean, if it weren't for Deadpool
and Wolverine being MCU focused and bringing it, we would
have never watched the other like Deadpool two. No, we've
(04:02):
never watched Deadpool one. We probably would have never gone
to this movie had it been completely contained in the
in the Fox universe and never impact. Having said all that,
it is vulgar, it is unbelievably violent. It's our rating
is earned in the first two minutes of the movie. Yeah,
but at the same time, it was a lot of fun.
(04:23):
It was we've seen it twice, Nate and I. We'res
Saturday when we're recording. We're going back today because we're
gonna go to the Imax three D version and get
the French rast out today. So we're gonna do that. So,
you know, just be aware as we talk about this movie,
we understand that this doesn't normally fit our brand. Okay,
we get that.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Okay, Yeah, speaking of our brand, right, speaking of our brand,
follow us on substack the mission.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
Yeah, you can follow us on there.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
We post weekly updates just general great community engagement stuff
as well as we're shooting for one hundred followers.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Where are we at now? Are you right around fifty? Okay?
All right? Halfway? We're moving there. You know we're getting there,
so you need It's kind of like trying to get
these original Deadpool movies made. We're gonna have to keep
fighting for it, but we're good eventually, and it'll happen
and it'll be worth it when we get there exactly.
So once we hit one hundred subscribers, we would do
(05:21):
something much more on brand. Yes, a podcast series exclusively
for you guys on substack that's all about the Christian
myth And I was listening to our episode about the Acolyte,
like our reaction to the Accolade, and we were I
think it was that episode where I was talking about
like Divine Council stuff and basically Genesis six one through four,
(05:43):
Nephelene type stuff. The Bible is weird. It is really weird,
and we don't act like it's weird. We act like
it's like commonplace, everyday type stuff. The Bible's weird even
without all that stuff. The idea that a god would
take on physical form to die, rise again, and then
ascended to the heavenly realms in order to bring back
an army that's going to conquer the earth and rule forever.
(06:07):
That's like, that's mythic, that's superhero stuff, and that's common
everyday Star Star Wars, common everyday christian stuff right with it.
So this is why we want to talk about Christianity
from the mythology perspective, because I think it helps us
understand the story. So when we get to one hundred,
that's what we're gonna do. Yeah, make sure you go
over there and subscribe. There's the app. You can download
(06:27):
the app. That's probably the best we have, our best experience. Yeah,
it's good.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Yeah, But I think enough talking about what we're going
to talk about. Let's talk about what we're talking about.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
All right.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Let's let's start in this discussion off with our basic
letterbox rating of the film. Nan if you're not familiar,
letterbox is rating from one to five. You can give
it halves and then there's a like or no like button.
So that's kind of how the system we've adopted since
Nate and Ile track our movies on it. So nay, yeah,
(07:02):
you go first letterbox rating.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
I definitely give it a four point five. I think
four point three is pretty much where I was wanted
to put it. It was a ton of fun, and
I that's a high rating for a dead hoole wolverine.
When I was it did everything I was wanting to
see from this movie. Doesn't get technical with me, and
it was well done. There was no doubt about it.
I think that everything that they wanted to achieve they
(07:25):
achieved greatly, and it was a ton of fun. So fourish, yeah,
like fourish and like oh yeah, like I would have
probably put it in at a three point five and the like,
just because it's so not our our like what we
would normally want to go to a movie for with this,
but in the end it it really is a laugh fest,
(07:45):
so much so that we were we surprisingly we came
home from the Thursday night you know, preview premier type
thing whatever. I don't know what they call that anymore.
It's not Opening night because it techno, it's a breathing night.
We went to that packed out the yeter like we
were talking and about earlier, came home, we're talking to
mom about it. The next day and she was like,
I think I would go see this and we were
(08:07):
like what. So we went and saw it, and this
is so I mean, if you think it's off brand
for the three of us, it is so off brand
for for Christy. This is there was no way we
thought she'd go see She went and saw it and
she yes, it was gory. Yes it was vulgar. She
(08:28):
laughed a lot and walked out of it and was like,
I laughed and had a great time at it. So fuzzball.
That's why I can rank it three point five with.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
Them, Eric, Yeah, I would give it a four. I
had a lot of fun with it. It was a
great time. It did everything that you wanted perfectly, and
then even a little more just for fun. So you
know it was It was a ton of fun. I
have no complaints with it. Was there anything that specifically,
(08:57):
let's let's do both. Was there something specific about the
movie that you liked? It could even be a moment,
well maybe not a moment because we're going to talk
about that, but just something about the movie itself that
you liked overall.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
That I want you to go first. I think we
talked about it. You mentioned it in the opening with this.
When I walked out of the movie the very first time,
one of the things that I think I said to
both of you right away was I want to go
home and everything in my life. This movie is so
self contained, right, If you're not a dead Pool Wolverine guy,
you're not a MCU person, you don't know what's been happening.
(09:33):
But like we talked about on our previous episodes with
you know, phases four and five and some of the
stuff that's going on in that, you can get the
gags and the storyline in this movie doesn't doesn't feel
like you have to be engaged in everything that's been
happening in phases four and five to really enjoy the movie.
(09:53):
It feels self contained on that At the same time,
when you step and you kind of scratch the surface
on this thing and dig into what's happening in it,
it really does impact the mc in a big way.
And so I love the fact that they were able
to pull that off because that was a surprise for me. Yeah,
that was a big surprise. I think I just enjoyed
the I mean, the acting was fantastic. Ryan Reynolds and
(10:14):
Hugh Jackman together sharing the screen for the entire movie
was a ton of fun. They both did a great job.
But I think the action sequences were really well done
throughout the entire movie. You can stomach if you can
stomach the gore, it's over the top. So I went
with a few people by myself, and all three of
them can't handle violence. Like they see blood, they usually
(10:35):
turn off the movie. So I was a little worried
how they were going to handle this, And they said
it was fine because it was so unrealistic and over
the top that it just you really can't realize it
being true and so, and I know that Mom had
the same rat she did, so yeah, I think the
action sequences were really well done and just a ton
of fun. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
I just appreciated the jokes that you know, when you
get into Deadpool movie, you kind of expect a certain brand.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
Of humoroy and while.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Yeah, there were some of the over the top, sort
of raunchy jokes, there were a lot of just funny
jokes and just great little gags and moments. I mean,
if you've been on social media at all this past week,
you know that the whole intro dance sequence to in
Sync has just gone absolutely viral.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
It was such a fun moment moment.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
So you know, there's all sorts of little moments like
that throughout the movie that you can laugh at and
not feel bad laughing at, you know.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
So it was a ton of fun. But you know,
while the movie itself.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Was just two hours of crazy fan service, we tried
to narrow down kind of the crazy moments to ten
that stood out from the rest.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
Yeah, so we got ten moments.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
We kind of talked about this in our own group chat,
picked out the stuff that we liked best, and then
we've arranged them here for you, from ten to one.
So it's, you know, our our the not as cool
gets like progressively higher in our life. Yes, yeah, that's
the best way to put it, Dad, Why don't you
start us off with number ten?
Speaker 2 (12:16):
I liked I like this guy, of course, I'm just
gonna yes, I'm gonna be honest with you. When I
when I watched this both times, I couldn't help but
think about Dominic Jones from The Star Wars under World
personality wise, because he's from the CineMo, just the Canadian cultural,
like the things with it, just the way he talks
(12:36):
that over the top kindness and generosity and all of this,
and it was I did you guys know that this
character existed in the Deadpool of you know, Pantheon. Oh really,
I didn't know. No, I didn't know that. Yeah, I
don't know that either. I have no idea whether or
not he's real. Maybe it's because well, obviously Wolverine is
(12:57):
from Canada, but is is Deadpool and Ryan Reynolds? Are
they both Canadian? I know? Yeah, dead pools from Vancouver. Yeah,
Ryan Reynolds is from Canady. So I think it's funny.
It's kind of it's kind of hilarious. They that's just
like classic Deadpool and Ryan Reynolds humor poking fun at himself, yes, right,
and his you know general. I loved nice Pool, I thought,
(13:19):
and I thought it was hilarious if you haven't seen
the movie. But I was going into toashi station to
pick up some power converters. I'm gonna spoiler, but spoiling.
He knows he has no superpowers. His superpowers is just
being nice, cute and nice super It was great. What's
what's one for you? Nate? Dogpool? I'm a big dog guy,
(13:41):
and Dogpool was fantastic. I mean stole the scene pretty
much every scene that she was in. I think that's
that's a firm way to say it. And it was
just hilarious, and of course it tied to nice Pool,
but I feel like Dogpool was just such a great
aspect of this movie and surprisingly present, like really in
(14:03):
a good amount of a lot of it. Do you
is this dog really that ugly with the tongue hanging out?
That's actually it was voted for ugly Britain's Ugliest Dog
and they said, so that's not like a prosthetic. That's
the dog that smells stinking. The dog just looks like that.
They just put a Deadpool costume on it. That dog
is hideous. It is. It's the first time that the
(14:26):
dog has ever acted in the movie. It's a great
and she did a great job. Give that guy. They
give that dog an an Oscar? Yeah, where's the animal
actor Oscar? Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
I really appreciated how they were kind of mocking the
whole MCU multiverse saga thing. It being in a movie
that's dependent on the whole multiverse thing.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
You know, there's that moment when all the the movie
doesn't work unless it's a multise No.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
I mean, there's that moment when all the Deadpools like
come out at the end there and he's all like,
I think this whole multiverse thing has just gone on
too long.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
It's not working. Let's just drop it.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
And then nice Bol's like, I think it's been steadily
great since en Grand. You know, like they're poking fun.
They know that there's been some missteps, or earlier in
the movie when Deadpoole brings Logan to the TVA and
he's all like, welcome to the MCU. You're coming in
a bit of a low point like that, right yeah,
So you know they I appreciated how not only were
(15:25):
they able to poke fun at the current state of
Marvel and accept the fact that it is a bit
like tumultuous right now, but that Kevin Feigey and Disney
and all the head higher ups allowed them.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
To put those jokes in the movie. That's bold to
be able to, which is one of the reasons the
movie is so much fun. Right Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
To be able to criticize yourself not so much and
in a comedic way and it'd be okay is a
ballsy move.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
But they pulled it off really well. They did. Now,
I had heard for years about Channing Tatum wanting to
play Gambit. No, Channing Tatum was playing Gambit. Well, no,
it's it's never actually was. The movie was never greenlit.
He was confirmed at Comic Con to be playing Gambit.
Really was this? It was a decade ago. It was
about ten years ago, and he was confirmed to be
(16:17):
playing Gambit in a Gambit movie. It was that they were,
and then it never making and then it never happened.
And then ten years later when they did the whole
h screening of dead Pool Wulverine, they brought Channing Tatum
back on stage and he was wearing the exact same
shirt Gambit shirt that he was wearing ten years to
the weekend when he was announced to be playing Gambit.
(16:40):
Such a it's such a weird character and it is
so meta because he doesn't know if he really exists.
He doesn't know where he was born, he doesn't know
what university's from, he doesn't know any of this. And
his the jokes that they have like what they call him,
like did you learn how to to talk from minions?
And yeah, the me is the ability to speak does
(17:02):
not make you intelligence. I mean Gambit on on the
in live action is a weird character in the weird
and and they own that weirdness with it. It's really cool.
I loved him, he was so cool. Bring him back, Yeah,
And what would be fun is if they were able
to bring him back in the X Men's stuff that
(17:22):
goes up goes forward in this in this universe, which
is going to happen. We'll talk about that, not in
this episode so much, but I know I think in
the next episode will end up talking about that. So
because of the San Diego Comic Con stuff. But if
they bring him back, but let him play Gambit as
a as like a straight right you know, not so
Gambit portrayal, not like this comedic version that's in it.
(17:43):
I and he if he owns it and delivers in
a really really cool way, it's going to be the
payoff is going to be sing for that really heavy.
Who's nxto talks first? He took first, I talk first, Nate,
you go next? What was another moment for you? So
Blade being in this was a ton of fun. Heard
that it was not going to it felt like it
(18:04):
was confirmed to me not happening because the rumors were
that on Blade Trinity, Ryan Reynolds and Wesley Snipes didn't
get along, which kind of makes sense. Wesley Snipes has
always been difficult to work with and that Ryan Reynolds
is very much enthusiastic I guess and everything he does,
so I feel like they wouldn't have gotten along. So
(18:27):
everybody thought that when there was a rumor of Blade
being in this that it just was going to be
a different type of Blade, like the c W series
type of Blade that lasted like two seasons or something,
and just they didn't expect it to be Wesley Snipes.
But when Wesley Snipes blade shows up, it it was crazy.
(18:47):
The entire place was was going crazy because you didn't
expect it. And I did like how they poked fun
at the whole him never liking it and kind of
just washing that they are fine. During the hall Age
panel when they brought him back out, they gave a
big hug and I can't thank you enough there there
there was never really any hostility, I don't think, But
(19:09):
but it's more it's, you know, it's it's a sign
of our times right where social media builds up something
to wear it. But I mean, like Wesley Snipes, it
makes sense and like the end of one of the
Blade movies. I don't know which one, I haven't seen him,
but they were wanting Blade to like open his eyes
after like being he was like on an autopsy table
(19:29):
and there was like a big tease that he was
still alive and he would open his eyes, and Wesley
Stipes refused to do it, like vehemently refused to do it.
So they had to see gi eyes opening and it
looks terrible. So, yeah, he's a difficult person. So that's
kind of where all the rumors really got fire. He's
a difficult person to work with, So that's funny.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
What about you, Sam, Yeah, I think one of the
biggest moments was, you know, they they build this moment
up with you know, clearly Deadpool's a big Captain America fan, right.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
That whole and the first moments in the TVA, everything
on screen is Captain. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
So when you get to the the Void and you
hear Chris Evans's voice, right, You're like, oh.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
My gosh, this is not going to go the way
you think.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
That's definitely Chris Evans, and you know, dephoos all like,
oh my gosh, it's an a lister. You know, another
a lister and he's like, you know you're gonna encounter
some foul language. You just gonna be okay with it,
Like yeah, yeah, and then you know, the moment happens.
He says, flame on it's Johnny Storm from the old
Fantastic Four movies. Place went Wild. I mean, it was
(20:38):
such a cool moment. I kind of as soon as
I saw him figured that that's going because we were
on the drive over there, we were like, what are
some crazy cameos you want to see?
Speaker 2 (20:49):
That was one of them, and one of Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
I don't know who said it, but we were like,
wouldn't it be crazy if we saw Johnny Storm or something?
Speaker 2 (20:54):
You know, it was. It was pretty fun. I think
it was me that brought that up. Yeah, yeah, so
that was It was such a fun moment man.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
And you know, I don't know if we talk about this,
but the whole movie, even though you know, you've got
dead Pool saying like I'm going to Disneyland and he's
talking to Fox or whatever, and then there's the rubbles
of Fox and the Void and stuff. You know, it
seems like they're poking fun at Fox the whole time.
But really the whole movie and then there's the thing
(21:20):
in the end credits. It's just a love letter the
twentieth century Fox really and their superhero movies, all all
the Fantastic Four movies, all the X Men movies, all
of that. It was it was a really pretty cool
moment that they they brought all that in there, and
well for.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
Me as someone too that that has been a part
of watching all of these movies since the very first
X Men movie released was twenty four years ago. I
think it's twenty four years ago. Yeah, since I mean
I was I went to the theaters and saw the
original X Men and X Men two. And I don't
know if you remember this, Sam, but you and I
went and saw X Men three. You were barely like
(21:55):
the last day years old where we went with you
and a friend. I think it that as I mean,
you were way too young. They don't even oh my
gosh with it. But we went and saw that. And
so I've been around this five years old. Maybe I
do remember the and it would have I'm sure it's
would have been worse in the social media era. This
(22:15):
is pre social media era. But I remember the controversy
over Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine because of how tall Hugh
Jackman is. He's six four and Wolverine in the comics
is like five foot four. So in that moment in
this movie, that's probably the next one for me is
seeing you know that, isn't it just the first the
(22:37):
first tries to find. Yeah, you're in a bar, he's
sitting on the on the stool. You're kind of getting
very classic, and he hops off the stool and it's
clear he's comic book accurate Wolverine where he's short. It's hilarious.
It is I mean I clapped like crazy when that happened.
That was awesome. It was hilarious. And then you as
(22:58):
a DC guy, Yeah, Superman in this movie, it was cool.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
That was another another another we were kind of like
joking about. It was like, what if Henry Cavill's in
this or that.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
It would have been crazy and they had been been hilarious,
and then we get Henry Cavill, Wolverine, the Cavaline, the
whole place. I don't know how, I don't know if
they knew how to react, because it was it was,
first of all, weird to see somebody else playing Wolverine
in live action I mean, we've had we've had one
live action Wolverine for over twenty years, and then having
(23:34):
Henry Cavill play just a cameo version of him was
still really weird and strange, and it was a ton
of fun. And then poking fun at DC was great
as well, of course, and they didn't mention it, but
I can't remember what the line was. What's the line?
Ill treat you better than those those guys down the street,
guys down the street, which is great. I've been arrogant
(23:54):
and I apologize. It was so much fun. It was hilarious.
Then head of the Classic Henry Cavil. Yeah, I mean
we talked about this a yeah, but this is probably
the biggest fan service moment of the entire movie. Oh yeah,
And it goes back to kind of what I was
(24:15):
talking about too, with the watching the series from the
very beginning.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
Right we finally saw Wolverine down the classic mask. I mean,
we had seen him in the costume the whole day,
the whole movie, but when he finally puts on that
completely comic accurate mask, it it is a really cool moment.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
It is I am so glad that that it never
leaked that's a really amazing thing. I mean we saw
it on like certain stuff, but you never saw any screenshots,
any behind the scenes like red photos or and then
and of course they never revealed it in the trailer,
so when the moment in the movie happens, you get
(24:58):
pretty much the full impact what that's like, Oh my gosh,
it's actually getting ready to happen, and he pulls that
up over his head. They didn't even like show you
any moments where you see his costume with that mask,
and I don't know where it's stashed.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
But that's one thing I kind of appreciated is they
pulled the comic book logic for a lot of things.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
It's just there, just accept it sort of thing. Yeah, yeah,
it was a lot of good And then you you know,
we kind of talked about this and Sam brought it up,
but you you it's absolutely one of the opening scene.
The opening scene is fantastic. That's our number one that
it has to be. I mean, it sets the tone
immediately for the whole movie. I mean, you take out
(25:38):
the in sync fight dance thing, which is fantastic, but
then you even reach before that with them mentioning Logan
and how they're going to respect how that ended and everything,
and then just not and just defiling his grave and
pulling out his skeleton and then using it as a weapon,
(25:59):
which you think, think about it, it doesn't make too
much sense either. But why is that? Because how is
he able to break off pieces of his bones and ribs?
Because because it's all of the bones and the ribs
are held together through actual cartilage that is decayed, so
it's all it's all broken off. Now I can do that.
But still, it was fantastic. It's a great opening scene.
(26:19):
Or when he dons the claws come on. That was
such a cool moment. It was so good, so good.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
Well, obviously Deadpool Wolverine is probably the least serious MCU
movie of all time, but it could actually have a
pretty serious impact on the future of the MCU. Yeah,
(26:48):
there were a few few moments in the movie that
were actually kind of important to talk about. I think
first is, you know, I guess a question is Deadpool
Wolverine have saved their timeline, but could this in a
way create an incursion?
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Nate, what what do you what? We saw incursions in
the MCU and my favorite MCU movie of all time,
Doctor Strange Multiverse, and they talked about it in Quantumnia
as well. They did talk about it in Quantumania as
well too. Two all right, MC movies Quantuminia, it's good,
(27:30):
but you're so salty about doctor Strange Multiverse is disappointed,
but we UH. An incursion is when two timelines or
realities or many different whatever the comic author wants it
to be uh collides into each other and starts basically
fighting for the right to take the place. Like since
(27:53):
two realities two timelines can't coexist in the same space,
they have to dominate one or the other. This dealer
is getting worse all the time, and it could result
in both being could result in both being destroyed. So
now we bring in the way that Deadpool Wolverine ended
with not only an anchor being being replaced with this logan,
(28:17):
which could potentially cause issues, but bringing back a bunch
of people from the void from other times at least
X twenty three, at least Laura, but they kind of
hinted at Gambia, Electra Blade as well, and whoever else
the Dogpool is there. This could cause issues. I don't
(28:38):
think Deadpool cares. I don't think it matters to him,
but dealing with incursions and then dealing with secret wars
and doomsday coming up. I got a bad feeling about this.
Could be dragging some stuff into each other and then
seeing Thor holding a potentially dying Deadpool even I don't
(29:00):
think can die, and whatever that time was, every time
Deadpool wakes up the rest of the time and all
of that. That's obviously obviously a hint. Something has to be.
Even though Chris Hemsworth didn't know Thor was in this movie,
well it's just a dark world clip. Yeah, yeah, So
who knows what the deal is there. Who knows if
(29:23):
we will see Deadpool coming up. But the incursion could
be happening with his universe or others. And I think
it makes a lot of sense because, you know, I
as a result of this movie and kind of trying
to understand some of the things that have happened in it,
and you know, kind of going down the rabbit hole
a little bit. Incursions are critically important to setting up
(29:43):
secret wars, which is what we're going to in this
as the close of the multiverse saga, So it would
make sense that we would have I mean that you
were as much as Nathan, you don't like doctor Strange
in the Multiverse a madness. The entire movie is built
around the idea of incursions. It is the end credit scene,
which are at least their own character which I can't
(30:04):
remember her character's name in this it's it's an incursion.
It's about incursions with it. You get this in ant
Man in Quantum Mania as well, with the incursions. Like
you brought up, Sam, incursions are critical to this and so.
And then you bring in the anchor being, a concept
which Brandon Davis from Comic book dot Com was actually
(30:24):
after the hall h screening of Deadpool and Wolverine interviewed
Kevin Figee and said, so, we're supposed to assume that
Tony Stark is the anchor being of the six one
sixth universe now right? And Kevin Figi was basically like,
there's no way I'm going to answer that question. However,
I love that this movie has you asking that question. So,
(30:49):
anchor beings, incursions, all of this, I think it's critical
with this.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
My only concern is, you know, you mentioned how they're
bringing in the this this uh Logan and these characters
from other universes and stuff, and I could see that
cause that those characters bringing their universes into dead pools
and causing an incursion there. But how does that involve
(31:15):
six one six Because Wade only interacted with six one
six in one time is when he went to go
talk to Tabbie Hogan. He didn't bring any characters over there.
He didn't visit that area at any point. The only
thing would be eliath from excuse me, from the Void,
which I guess the Void connects every.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
End up being where battle World is in Secret Wars.
I think that's where.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
Okay, that makes sense. Yeah, yeah, because it's gonna I
was gonna say, I was. As I was saying that
the whole thing, it made sense that we now this
movie has established that the Void is not just avoid
for six one six, it's.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
For all the multiverse. Yeah, that makes sense, then I
can I can see that better now. Now another thing is.
Speaker 1 (32:06):
We only saw a small microcosm of it in this movie.
But I mean, what's up with the TVA. They kind
of feel like their new mission is largely the same as.
Speaker 2 (32:16):
The old ones. Yeah, what's the name of the new
head of it? Now? As she's fifteen okay, hundred be fifteen.
One hundred B fifteen ends Loki season two wanting to
preserve all timelines correct and then in this movie she's
willing to prune timelines. Now you have to become the
(32:37):
better thing you swore to destroy it again.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
It feels like she's become what she's sworn to. No,
I don't think she's wanting to prune it. Paradox is
the one wanting to prune the parents.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
I think it's the whole.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
Once the anchor being dies, the timeline eventually can no
longer exist and it fizzles out, but only after a
few thousand years, and one hundred and fifteen wants to
let the universes do that. Okay, but Paradox just got
tired and didn't want to sit there nursing a dying
world for two thousand years, so he decided to just
nip it in the bud quickly and speed it up. Yeah,
(33:13):
so I think that was the issue. It just does
feel weird that timelines are still able to end. Maybe
that's kind of.
Speaker 2 (33:20):
Well, that's but that actually isn't because they're being pruned, right,
based on what you guys are saying, it's because the
anchor being piece of it has been brought into the equation,
which we haven't heard that before. Right. So now when
logan anchor being in the X Men universe, the Fox
Verst or whatever that being has died, now it slowly
(33:42):
decays and ends that timeline. So I guess that's that's
maybe more along the lines of what I mean. Even
Paradox mentions it. He's he's talking about it's like, you know,
we used to just prune these things, but now we're
better than that or something like that. Yeah, they don't
prune him anymore so because well not to choke on
your aspirations. And then a huge, huge thing is that
(34:07):
mutants are now officially part of the MCU. You know.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
Kim Figgi has stated that the mutant era in the
MCU starts now with this you know film diple Wolverine,
marking the beginning of that new era. He's expressed that
every movie post dip Wolverine will be a part of
the mutant era coming to the MCU. Inter Figi also
(34:32):
mentioned that the X Men ninety seven series has been
Have you finished that?
Speaker 2 (34:36):
No? I have not.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Has been a first taste of kind of people reuniting
with the X Men mythology, further exciting them about how
to kind of bring uh this sort of you know,
soap opera.
Speaker 2 (34:49):
And saga of music really is very much. Wow. I
had not realized how much of a soap opera the
X Men comic or x Men cartoon series animate. Yeah,
it's very much. So it is. So it's great. Yeah,
So you know what are y'all's thoughts on the whole?
You know, Mutants coming to the MCU. Now, I'm excited
for it. I think it's gonna be good to have them.
(35:10):
I mean they were already kind of in it, like
with with Kamala to an extent and Beast at the
end of con not heros right. Oh no, I'm not
prove enough for policy. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (35:23):
Yeah, the very different Marveled and the Beast, except I
think it was confirmed that she ended up in Earth.
Was it one Triple zero five like the one that
dead pulls from. Yeah, so Beast is obviously in that,
which means that must be his X Men. I don't know,
I'm confused without of that's going to tie into each other.
(35:44):
But it seems like Monica Rambo is probably in Deadpool's universe,
which seems part of the incursion.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
Okay, there's an incursion. I can see that, and also
could be why they get Deadpool involved in it. Also,
we forgot incursions were a part of the Marvels, which
I think it was actually the main motive and the
bad guy. I forgot it in our camp breakdown you
(36:09):
did last last week. And it's not a bad movie.
It wasn't forgettable. Yeah, forgettable is pretty much the best word.
And that seems a little harsh, but it just is.
And I think the villain was mainly forgettable because her
motive was causing an occursion that was the entire thing.
And then Monica Rambo sacrifices herself and then ends up
(36:31):
in I guess Earth one Triple zero five with Deadpool
now apparently and Logan and Laura and Gambit, Electra Blade whatever.
So I think we're seeing a lot of mutes being
brought in just from this universe. I think it's wide.
I mean with one of the things that Figi has
said is that the next saga, So we had the
(36:54):
Infinity Saga, obviously we're currently in the multiverse saga. The
next saga has already been defined as being called the
Mutant Saga. Okay, with this. So where we're going is
not just get them introduced in the multiverse saga, bring
them in from you know, all of those variant timelines
(37:14):
and all this other stuff. But whatever happens post Secret
Wars Avenger Secret Wars is going to center around the
X Men universe, the Mutants and those those characters with it,
which I think is going to help breathe some new
life into the MCU as well, because you're going to
have some different characters and things like that, And of
(37:35):
course on the next episode we're gonna end up talking
about that a lot more specifically the Robert Danny Junior
story and all of that. He is like my brother.
Speaker 1 (37:44):
Now, this movie is a wild mix of laughs, fan
service and big MCU plot twists. Devil Wolverine not only
cracks jokes about past mistakes but also ushers in Mutants,
setting the stage like you mentioned, Dad for that new
Marvel era with potential incursions and tv A and the
(38:04):
TVAS latest Shenananigans.
Speaker 2 (38:06):
We're kind of on the edge of our.
Speaker 1 (38:07):
Seats for what's going to be next. All right, thank
you for listening. If you're if you you know, need

you know all this comic. Why is doctor important? Well?
I don't know. Yeah.
