This week we dive deep into the MCU's evolving landscape as we explore the concept of Anchor Beings—an idea introduced in the blockbuster "Deadpool and Wolverine" movie, which has already surpassed $1 billion at the box office.

While this concept is new to the MCU and not rooted in the comics, it opens up intriguing possibilities for B-list villains and heroes alike. We’ll break down the idea and speculate on which characters, like Tony Stark, Doctor Strange, and even Kang, could be the Anchor Being for Earth-616.

Plus, we’re talking all things new in the world of comic books, including releases like "Ultimate Spider-Man #8" and "Nightwing #117", and sharing our current reads. If you’re a fan of exploring the myths and stories that define pop culture, you won’t want to miss this episode.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey tatooin Sun's Family. This is David. Just a quick
update on some changes that are coming to the release
schedule and cadence in format beginning next week. This week
we'll have our three Monday, Wednesday Friday episodes, but the
reality is school for Nathan starting college and work things

(00:22):
has caused us to make the decision where we are
going to retract back to a one episode per week
format and that will begin starting with a release next week.
And we're actually going to shift our release day back

(00:42):
to what it was for quite a long time, back
to Tuesdays, and so beginning on August twenty seventh, we
will return to our a little bit longer format hour
long roughly episode, but that will be coming out once
a week. And then I did also want to give
you a quick update and let you know that there
will be no episode after we go back to this change.

(01:04):
There won't be an episode on September third, on that
Tuesday because we will be the previous weekend. We will
be spending Labor Day weekend in Orlando at Disney World
as a family vacation, so we will not be able
to record on Monday the second, So then we will

(01:24):
return to our normal release schedule again on September tenth.
Thank you guys so much for being a part of
the Tattooing Sun's family, for being a part of what
we try to do every week. We appreciate you. Hopefully
getting back to a weekly released schedule will allow us
to have a little bit more consistency and allow us

(01:45):
time to do some other things, which would be some
promoting and some things that we're doing in substack, and
also open up the door for the schedule to allow
for us to do that Christian mythology podcast that we're
talking about when we reach one hundred subscribers. But that's
for an update. Let's get to the episode.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
This is Tattooin Soun's a pop culture podcast, the only
fan podcast the name of Cannon Star Wars Creature and
to be endorsed by the writer director of The Last Jedi,
Ryan Johnson. Dead Pool and Wolverine has somehow eclipsed one
billion at the box office in its first three weekends,
and an amazing achievement for a threequel in a franchise
centered around B list comic book anti hero. But beyond that,

(02:27):
the movie introduced an idea into the MCU that isn't
really found in the comic books, but could bring out
some interesting ideas for a B list comic book villain.
We'll talk about that. What's new in comics and what
we're reading this week. This is Tattooine Sons.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
That's true true. What was the name of the pork
on the millennium Falcon Forces? Strong in my family? What
do you think his name is? A big moment? I

(03:02):
am a Jedi like my father before me. Maybe Turbis
do ill do not?

Speaker 3 (03:15):
At least no trying.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Turbis Pablo.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
If you're listening to this live stream, that pork's name
is now Turbis.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
It's a good Star Wars name.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
We're not done yet, These guys recorded across a podcast tatters.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Everybody listen most excited about. No, are you technically a
freshman or a soft? Oh, I'm coming in as a freshman,
but I'm graduating early.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
You're academically you're a soft.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Academically I'm a sophomore yet, but I'm calling myself freshman
because scholarships.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Oh okay, so yes, I did the same mark with that.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
Yeah, you graduated faster than in by a year, but
I started late. I took a gap year, so I
was basically on track with most people anyway.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Okay, that's cool, So yeah, it's gonna be exciting.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
But welcome to Tachween Sunday pop Culture Podcast. We believe
that pop culture is the mythology of this generation, that
there's a story written on our souls, and that these
myths speak to that story. And that's why we're talking
about the new concept of anchor beings and how this
could elevate some of our favorite comic book characters to
a new level. But before we get into that, I

(04:39):
just wanted to kind of lobby you to subscribe a
substat please, it would be it's a ton of fun.
You don't even have to do anything. Just like hit subscribe,
put in your email. You'll get a newsletter every now
and then in your email. You don't even have to download.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
I try to do one every Friday, but I have
a full time job, so yeah, but you'll get whatever's
going to college. Sam's got a full time job, and
Sam's out a girlfriend.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
So yeah, just subscribe. It's a ton of fun and
you don't even need to pay attention. Sometimes we're doing it.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
It's free.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
It's not the papersion. I know it's free, so just
just use the free version. But yeah, enough talk about
what we're going to talk about. Let's talk about what
we're talking about, all right. For this week's comic book releases,
the first big one, the biggest one of the week
is Ultimate Spider Man Issue eight that's coming out. Ultimate

(05:29):
Spider Man Issue seven was great. Can't wait to write
it's coming out. Yeah, and they had the Kingpin in it.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Which is great.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
He seems the main villain of this series so far.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
We like to talk about this much. I mean, I
know we did, but like specifically Kingpin in the Daredevil
Born Again trailer, Yeah, he was. He was cool as always.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Did you hear what Vincentinofrio said about the violence and
daredubl Born Again?

Speaker 1 (05:52):
I did not, but I'm ready for you to tell me.
He said that it is more than the Netflix show. No,
he said that there is.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
He said there is something they do with his character
at one point that he's frankly very surprised made it
into the final cut.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
He was shocked. So this is the same series that
he's referencing from before where he crushed the guy's head
in with the car door. Yes, like that was the
episode where we know I said, wait, these two kids
are probably a little too young to watch this movie
or this series. We're gonna wait about seven years or so.

(06:33):
He was way more than that.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Yeah, it's interesting, but it's Kingpint.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
He's great. He's gonna do awesome things. So he was good.
In Ultimate Spider Man number eight, he.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
Was he's making I don't know if it was clones
or robots or something, but he's doing something that's like
bullseye clones or robots.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
It's weird, but he's making an army of bulls eyes basically,
which is strange, but I'm there for it. The issue
kind of ended with tying into the Ultimates series, so
I probably need to keep up with that.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
It's called Ultimate Spider Man, so it makes sense.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Yeah, but like the Tony Stark showed up at the
end of it, since he was like, hey, has the
Ultimates come out yet? I think it may have come out,
but I don't think we can't pick it up. I
could be wrong enough, but yeah, Ultimus Fireman has been great.
A night Wing issue one seventeen is coming out.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
I haven't followed the night Wing series but it feels
weird to kind of get keep reading or get into
a DC series at this point unless it's Ultimate Power,
Absolute Power, because we're getting the all in reset coming
up in a couple of months, So it just feels.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
What's been the reaction that you've seen from people about
both of that? The reset, you've got the what's these
the Absolute Universe, and then you got All In. What's
been the reaction it's been. It's been positive enough.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
Some people aren't a fan with how they're treating some
of the Absolute Universe stuff, but it's not gonna please everyone,
and I think they'll enjoy it when they actually get
to reading it because they're just judging it by very
little descriptions we have at this point, so I think
it'll be interesting enough.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Is Scott Snyder leading this charge because he seems yes
on social media?

Speaker 2 (08:14):
He is, he's the head of it and kind of
came up with the idea with DC, So yeah, he's
pretty much heading that up. Speaking of Absolute Power, Superman
Issue seventeen is coming out.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
That's a tie in issue.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
Tian issues are weird because they really don't have much
to do with the actual series. They may reference a
couple of things, but not absolutely necessary if you're reading
absolutely absolutely necessary.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
And then last, but not least, Deadpool Issue five is
coming out.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
I feel like.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Deadpool has seen a bit of a hike up and
Commons Hills recently, especially his main series Wolverine Revenge. Just
You one is also coming out this week. It's a
new mini series about Wolverine fighting dinosaurs.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
I think awesome. So if you want to read that
you can.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
I know that there's a like an uncensored, more bloody
version of it version. Yeah, pretty much. They're releasing that too,
which is crazy snyders.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
It actually does have more polls right now than the
original one, so it just shows I guess what Marvel's trying.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
To seems to be a publicity stunt.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
It probably is, Yeah, but uh, it's it's pretty much it.
Of course, there are more comics coming out now and
the past weeks and coming up next week, but just
check with your local comics store or if you read
them digital, just like a digital lap.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
But yeah, let's let's is Marvel Ultimate. I think it's unlimited.
It's not bad. No, it's not unlimited. Winter you get
a lot of comics if you can have a good
I read more comics in the last two weeks than
I have in the last ten years. But you sold
out to digital. I enjoy it. It's definitely a better

(09:54):
experience for me. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
Old, But it's been a minute since we talked about comics.
We've been reading and sadly I haven't been able to
pick up any new ones. But Dad, as we have mentioned,
has been reading a ton. So Yeah, as we mentioned,
Sam hasn't been able to read much recently and I

(10:17):
haven't either. I think I've read since last time. I've
read Absolute Power issue won, which was good. I feel
really lost. A lot of stuff has happened in the
main DC, stuff that I.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Felt reading Ultimate Invasion.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Yeah, like, basically fail Safe is back, but as a
weird fail Safe was Batman's Ultron. Yeah, pretty much if
Batman ever killed, fail Safe was activated to kill Batman
because who knows what will happen if Batman who kills
us out there? But Penguin framed Batman's Batman didn't really
kill anybody, but fail Safe was actually a part of

(10:53):
Batman's mind or a story called The Batman Who Kills Yeah,
it's different though, I mean who kills.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
What are you talking? Who laughs? Who kills?

Speaker 3 (11:03):
No?

Speaker 2 (11:05):
But it was good. Absolute Power was fun. Amanda Waller
is a jerk. She's like the main villain in this series.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
She seems like a bad guy in Creature Commandos coming out.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
I think she pretty much is. But Absolute Power is
basically like one not a good guy.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
In my adventures? Was Superman either?

Speaker 3 (11:20):
No, she's ever really a good guy. Yeah, she's not
really ever a good guy.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
But Absolute Power pretty much was just basically like what
if fail Safe and Amanda Waller teamed up to get
rid of all superheroes in the world and fail Safe
created a bunch of power zapping robots. Superman has no
powers anymore. The entire world is against superheroes because of
AI made videos that made it look like the superheroes
were actually doing bad things instead of real things.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
That was pretty much the basis of this series.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
I don't know how we're going to lead into canon
resetting event from this, but I'm all for it. I'm
interested to see what's going on. But Dad, you've been
reading some comics here recently.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Still reading? I mean, I don't think i've read any
more Daredevil. I'm all in going back to the DC.
I'm just not happy with you right now. So that's okay.
I'm going to get there, but I'm all in on
the time will tell. I can't jump back and forth
between time runs out. Time runs out. That's what I meant.
Just a good name for it too, but time will

(12:21):
tell if I finish time runs out. I'm actually like
one issue left. I literally have one issue left. I'm
going to finish it tonight and then you're gonna read
dare Uvel. I don't know. It depends on how this ends,
because it's getting creepy. Man. The world is coming to
an end.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
The world comes to an end in dared Vil, Oh
my gosh, at the end in nearly every comic but
likes cooler.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
Well, here's here's my point. Though. I'm loving this because
it's making me really start to understand doctor Doom. It's
also helped me be helping me understand the fantastic for
the Beyonders. The Molecule Man, which we're going to talk
about in a little bit, is a bit. He's crazy, dude.
He is creepy character. He's like certifiably off. It's like

(13:10):
joker like kind of except like multiversely created to destroy everything.
So like, I'm sure that. But what's interesting is we've
got like three different I think not three. There's two
different Mister Fantastics going on in my storyline right now,

(13:30):
two separate ones. Yeah, so you've got, well, you've got
two different groups. Right, you've got what you've got. Let's say,
how many different groups we've got. We've got the Avengers,
We've got the New Avengers, We've got the Illuminati, We've
got the Cabal, which are the bad guys that's led
by Doctor Doom. And then you've got the Ultimate Avengers.

(13:53):
And the Ultimate Avengers is being led by a young
version of mister Fantastic who is against trying to go
against what's going on with the main line. So he's
back Richard Reid, Richard Reid, did you say, Richard Reid
read Richard Richard's That's what I meant, mister Fantastic. And

(14:15):
but here's here's the thing. It's all coming to a climax, right.
You've got all these incursions that are all ready to happen,
and that's going to lead to Secret Wars twenty fifteen,
and I'm ready to get into that. But here's what
I love about this story. They captured in the MCU

(14:35):
in Captain America Civil War. The conflict between Steve Rogers
and Tony Stark is taking place on a multiversal level.
They always have conflict. I didn't realize that that was
a storyline that's so prevalent. It is really really good
in this end. You've got some other fun characters. You've

(14:57):
got Hawkeye in this one, which is a really really star.
I have not seen Daredevil yet. You're missing out. You
want me to just go back and read Daredevil. I'm
not kidding. You need to.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Like it's regarded as one of the greatest comic runs
of all time, and you're like avoiding it.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
But here's the thing, I can get to it. That's
a beautiful thing about comic books is you could always
go back to it and people aren't spoiling it on Twitter.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
You'll get spoiled though, when Daredevil Boarding Again comes out,
I'll finish it before then. I got to like March, Yeah,
but you have till what twenty twenty eight, till twenty
twenty seven, till Doomsday comes out? And you are like,
I gotta read Secret Wars right now, But you have
till March for Daredevil, and you're like, well.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
I got time. The difference is time runs out, Dad.
The storyline that I'm engaged in right now is this
Avengers Secret Wars storyline. When I'm finished with that, step
back and I'll drive into some Daredevil right before boarding
again comes out. How many issues were in Time runs Out?

(15:55):
Maybe I don't know. Seventeen eighteen nineteen, it took you
like two weeks to time runs out? Yeah? Is that?
Is that a problem?

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Or is that I'm just saying Secret Wars is a
lot more stuff. If you're trying to get the end,
Like Secret Wars will have two full omnibuses, which are
about fifteen hundred pages each, at least two volumes to
cover everything.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Then I better get started on it.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
You're not gonna be waiting like you're gonna be going
to like January, and then you have about forty issues
of Daredevil to get through before March.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
I can do that in three months. It took me
two weeks to get through like seventeen eighteen.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
And you're avoiding one of the greatest comic runs. I'm
all waiting for it. I'm saving you.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Know, he's just doing this to get a rise. It's
just it doesn't make sense. I want my hype, and I.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
Also don't want you to be reading Secret Wars and
spoiling it for me, because I'm waiting for the omnibus
first one that at least come out so I can.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
I haven't spoiled anything about telling me about everything about
time runs Out.

Speaker 2 (16:55):
And you're gonna be talking about Molechu Man here pretty soon,
and I'm sure you'll talk about time runs out.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Not necessary. I'm talking about it from a perspective.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
Try can't understand the character, okay, but she's speaking of
molecule Man. We're about to jump into the idea of
anchor beings, which might confuse you if you're a fan
of the MCU or or comics, because if you're a
fan of the comics, you might be wondering where did
this come from as well? So yeah, let's kind of
jump into that.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
All right.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
So let's jump into the anchor beings. Do they have
anchor points in this too? I don't think anchor points,
but I feel like there should be a thing as
an anchor point. Maybe it's the birth of the anchor being.
I don't know that we're anchor points. I don't absolutely
points which is which is the same thing. It's something

(17:49):
that has to be there, and it's.

Speaker 3 (17:50):
An event that has to happen, whereas.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
Which that feels like a cannon event from across the
Spider Verse. But a cannon event is like for that
character in every universe. And salute point is it has
to happen in that one specific universe.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
The only point that we've seen is the one in
And how does that go against what I just said
because it's relating to doctor Strange's origin? No?

Speaker 1 (18:18):
How when? How? How? When is? When is she died?
And any other doctor.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
Right now, you're right that that she only died, So
you have that good point.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
And then what were nexus beings? Again? Nexus beings are
beings that can like are are critical to all different multiversal.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
Okay, so nexus beings are important for every time line.
And what was the nexus event? There wasn't There wasn't Okay.
So now we've introduced anchor beings. Okay, So I can
see how this would confuse anybody. Why talk about talk
about anchor beings? And anchor beings are from what we understand,

(18:59):
which this is a brand new concept introduced in Deadpool Wolverine.
It is a being on a timeline now, a timeline
as we saw in Deadpool Wolverine which takes place after Loki.
A timeline is one specific thread that can have branches
come off from this one thread. Correct, So in this
main thread which we saw in Deadpool Wolverine, which was

(19:21):
one Triple zero five, Logan died. Now it does seem
like we can assume that Deadpool was a part of
one Triple zero five, but most likely a part of
one of the branches that came off of that main
timeline because of all that, because Deadpool never really interacted
and there were some contradictions with the original timeline, like

(19:44):
Yukio is in different the Wolverine and she's really cool
and does a lot of stuff, and Yukio in Deadpool
and that universe does nothing and just kind of makes
jokes comedic relief. Very different characters, but the same one.
So we can assume that Deadpool is a part of
a branch of the main timeline where Logan died. Now,

(20:04):
Logan was the anchor being of that universe, now the
anchor being when it dies in that timeline, which we
can assume if he dies in a branch doesn't affect anything,
but if it dies in the main version of that timeline,
it will start to slowly deteriorate over thousands of years.
Two thousand years has said what they said usually is

(20:27):
the length of it.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
I saw a pause.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
I graduated I was done with this stuff.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
Like I want to tell you, I've watched a dozen
videos on anchor beings in the last since Deadpool and
Wolverine Camp. I can imagine that might be the best
explanation of anchor beings and the timelines that I've ever heard.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
After seeing it four flipping times every single time I've
watched it, I'm like, how does this make sense with
what happened at the end of Loki? It feels weird
They talk about the sacred timeline still yet we know
that there are infinite timelines. Now, we know that Loki
sacrifice themselves to hold it all together, But are they

(21:11):
discrediting that sacrifice too? So this kind of gives us
the idea that all of these timelines do exist and
that there can be branches off of all these timelines.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
Go ahead, Sam, finish your thought.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
You can branch off of all these timelines, and that
there still is that sacred timeline that they are trying
to keep together, but there can be branches off of
the sacred timeline, which could be what we see happening
from like Avengers in.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Game kind of stuff.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
So Earth six one six is the main. Okay, we're
looking at this from like a tree, right, yeah, Earth
six one six would be the trunk.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
Yeah, yeah, right, going down to the roots, right.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
And then Earth one Triple zero five is a branch, correct,
and then Deadpool was a little twig on that brand, correct.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
Okay, So that's pretty much what we can gather from this, So,
which is cool because that's the way that Loki.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
Is, right and that makes sense.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
Right. So then is comic six one six the main trunk,
and then the movie is a like win trunks.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
Assume that it is probably running with it. It might
just be a branch off of the six one six.
You can kind of think of six one six comic
as the seed and six one six move movie is
kind of what grew from.

Speaker 3 (22:35):
Okay, No, No, six one six comics are the roots, yeah,
and then the ms used the trunk right and the
branches because we've heard and this could just be at
the end of Loki I think it was the end
of Loki, or maybe it wasn't Quantumedia, I can never remember.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
I think it was the end of Loki. They said
they had some trouble with the Kang variant on six
one six adjacent.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
It was the end.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
You could say six one six adjacent. But then you
can make the argument that six one six adjacent could
just be the quantum realm for six one six, which
would make sense. But also I feel like they would
just say six one six at that point and they
wouldn't make an effort to say six one six adjacent
for that feels like.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
That mean that goes around with the dude and the
white board.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
Don't by the way, Yeah, that's always Donny, get there.
You're starting to watch It's always in Philadelphia. It's hilarious,
great stuff.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
I mean, if you love Community or The Office or
any of those type of shows that just are very
irreverent comedy, you'll love it. It's not for everybody, for sure.
I don't know how the later seasons get, but it's
a ton of fun. I'm enjoying it. But yes, that
is the whole conspiracy board thing is from a season

(23:48):
and it's always sunny and yes, that's what the anchor
being conversation feels like. It wouldn't be an MCU movie
without being confusing. Let's just be honest here, but this
was something that was pretty much already set up in
Avengers Endgame a while ago. Explain, Oh, yeah, when we
see the Ancient one talking about timelines and removing stones

(24:12):
from the timeline, we do see that the Sacred timeline
still runs on, but when you remove one, something will
branch off and a new timeline will come out that
is a different version, but still the main timeline would
still run. So everything that we're dealing with, these main
timelines running but branches coming off of it, are all
things that we did see back and end game.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
He and even Hulk talks about that when they're like
when Rody's like, why can't we just go back and
kill baby Thanos?

Speaker 2 (24:39):
Right, So these are things that were set up and
then kind of somehow patched into this story. But then
also you can very well tell that there were reshoots
done to make it seem a little bit more like
this is after Loki, because there's one scene with mister
Paradox in Deadpool Wolverine where he's like, you know, we
just used to prune these things, but now we don't

(25:01):
do that anymore, I guess. And you can so obviously
tell that is behind a green screen and that was
just thrown really randomly.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
That's a post decision to get rid of Kang conversation
that and I feel like it was oh dang.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
People might be questioning because if you think about it,
this really just seems like they're doing stuff that they
did before, but then bringing that in. That's the one
line that is like, this is different, this is opposite.
But let's kind of dive into not just Deadpool and
Wolverine what anchor beings mean, but kind of what we
can kind of gather from anchor beings in comics. Even

(25:36):
though this is not a comic book topic. This is
not something that's been brought up in Marvel comics, this
is not something that has been brought up in any.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
Type of comic. We haven't really heard of.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
This central being has to be alive, and a timeline
for the timeline to live is an interesting concept.

Speaker 3 (25:51):
Kind of makes sense for like solo character runs, if
you think it really does.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
It would make sense for DC, like if Superman dies
and the same and like his run. In his run,
then the run's gonna end, that that timeline is gonna end.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
I mean, that's a stuper It does feel like a
very comic book. He's a very.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
Comic book idea, and I'm surprised it hasn't been introduced sooner.
But who are y'all's guesses of who is the anchor
being for six one six adjacent?

Speaker 1 (26:19):
We're not talking about the comic roth.

Speaker 3 (26:21):
I think this has been thrown around a lot, and
I've even said it before, but I do think it's Tony,
and I think that's why they are bringing him in
as Doctor Doom. I mean, this whole story started with Tony,
and in a lot of ways, it feels like the
whole story ended with Tony too.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
You know.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
You'd talk to a lot of people, and in consensus
amongst people is that Marvel's fallen off.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
So I think it's been steadily great since anything.

Speaker 3 (26:54):
So I think that that I'm not saying that the
movies are bad because Tony is something dead in the universe.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
That's not That doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
But from my very meta perspective, the timeline seems to
be dying off the franchise seems exactly. It's tumultuous, right,
just like Logan's death in the Fox x Men universe
spelled the end of that right, which was exactly was

(27:21):
so which they tried in dead Pool and Wolverine, right right.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
So I I think that's why Tony makes the most sense.
It started with Tony. He's the one who put the
MCU on the map. A lot of the MCU revolved
around Tony. I mean, heck, Spider Man's villains were just
because Tony pissed him off, you know, like which you
know it could be a criticism, but you get my point.

(27:49):
Tony has his fingers in largely every buddy's story except
maybe like Door, I guess Guardians Guardians kind of, yeah,
but that's about I mean the main stories, though he's
criticals president, and without him there, it feels there hasn't
been that connected through line through all the movies. It's

(28:10):
a driving point. So I think that's why Tony is
the anchor being.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
That's the easy thing that it's like everybody kind of
automatically gravitates towards Tony based on everything that happened in
the Infinity Saga. But Nate can your guy possibly be.
I'm wondering if it's what we we're talking about, Peter No,
I think doctor doctor, doctor Strange is your guy. Yeah, MCU,

(28:43):
Here's one thing I would be absolutely certain of. Daredevil
is not the anchor being. Daredevil is the anchor being
of the Netflix the Defender. Yes, but that's that's a branch.
It is. It is that. But this is what's fun
about this. It helped to process all of these timelines differently.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
Right like it was connected. So is Deadpool connected? But
it never seemed like it really fully was. So it
could just be a branch. Defenders universe could have just
been a branch that was slightly tied. I mean Deadpool
references logan. So we have all that happened.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
So does Doctor Strange a potential Canada I think.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
He could be, but kind of after what I saw
in Multiverse of Madness, I'm not sure if they would
be going that direction. I don't know if doctor Strange
has enough importance now in the MCU, which sucks and
hurts to say, but I do feel like Multiverse as
Madness kind of reduced him to being a hero, a

(29:45):
part of the MCU and not a larger connective character
of the MCU, which is unfortunate, but I don't know.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
I don't know who else could be it. There's two
reasons why I think it's possible, okay with this. One
of them is an in universe like in the comics side,
and then another is an extra universe like real world reason.
The universe reason is in Time Runs out and from
what I understand in Secret Warse twenty fifteen, doctor Strange.

(30:16):
Doctor Strange is a central good character. He is majorly
engaged in everything that's going on. He's a big part
of this and even tying to doctor Doom in Time
Runs Oh, I mean doctor doctor Strange, See I don't understand.
That helped me understand that there was.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
You sent me a video, we watched it, and doctor
Doom and doctor Strange actually teamed up for a whole
comic run when they went to Hell to be able
to help doctor Doom find his mother and free her
from me Fisto's grasp. And then doctor Doom betrayed Doctor Strange,
but then doctor Strange still helped Doctor Doom and doctor
Doom freed his mother, but then was like cursed for

(30:56):
all time by Mephisto, a lot of weird stuff happened,
but that is such an influential comic run for Doctor
Doom's character after that, because that's when he decides to
fully make himself into a different like being, like.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
That's different being.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
Yeah, that's the issue, that's the run, and so Doctor
Strange is a huge part of that. So Doctor Strange
could very well. And then even to the fact of
Doctor Doom being eventually the Sorcerer's Supreme of the universe,
not just Earth. I mean Doctor Doom has crazy powers
in sorcery, which brings into Doctor Strange being Supreme of

(31:33):
Earth and the master of the Mystic Arts. So there's
a lot that goes on there.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
So the extra like extra universe, the real world reason
why it's possible, okay that in our cinematic MCU, I
guess you're calling it MCU adjacent is that it six
six one six adjacent. Okay, that's what I meant. Kevin
Faggy presented doctor Doctor Strange Benedict's cumberbatche at his Walk

(32:05):
of Fame induction, Okay, and at it. This was post
end game. They were talking about the future of the
Marvel Cinematic universe, and the word that he used to
describe Doctor Strange was the anchor of the MCU going forward.

(32:28):
Do you think that that could be him alluding to
something there?

Speaker 2 (32:31):
I would love to say yes, but also how much
the MCU has changed since that point. I feel like
it could have just been saying and then we can
dive into that.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
So what about the other character from multi Verse of
man it is, the other basically co star lead of
the of no the one who.

Speaker 2 (32:52):
Had basically more screen time than Doctor Strange in his
own movie's We've Got Wan division. She was central to
the Infinity saga going forward. She has been central to
everything since well a lot since Ed Game. We see
her showing up in Deadpool and Wolverine, as far as
the statue from the Universe that one of the universes

(33:14):
in Multiverse about this.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
She's going to be part. She's got a part to
play in Agatha All along with that, there's rumors that
there's a Scarlet Witch solo movie getting ready to be announced.
Do you is it? I'll let you start, Sam, because

(33:36):
you're going to be a little less salty about this.
Want to maxim off any possible way that she's the
anchor being of the mcu six one six.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
I know that in the comics and.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
Stuff, she is, She's an nexus being.

Speaker 3 (33:49):
She's an infinitely powerful and influential character. I'm just saying
in the comics that wouldn't be too surprising. She's an
extremely powerful character. But so is Doctor Strange. Like you say,
with any comic book character, it's all in who's writing
him and whose names on the story. Yeah, Daredevil's awesome, right,

(34:12):
so you know, like.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
It could be a toss up.

Speaker 3 (34:17):
I don't think it's Wanda though, because I don't think
she's had quite enough impact yet.

Speaker 2 (34:24):
Yeah, it's not Wanda. I'm just gonna leave it that.
Please don't be don't don't. I mean, I'm just again,
I feel like she hijacks every movie she goes into
it kind of ruins it, not ruins it.

Speaker 1 (34:41):
Just like Civil War, I mean, she was a huge
part of that.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
She was a huge She was more than mcguffin, though,
it feels like she was a mcguffin for Age Baltron
as well. And then she gets her own TV series.

Speaker 1 (34:53):
And now she was central to the end of Infinity.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
War, yeah, and Endgame, and then she stole Doctor Strange's
had her own TV series, and then everybody's like, I
want a solo series. It's like asking for a solo
Darth Vader movie when we already had the Skywalker. Sokka
doesn't make sense and I want to give space for
other characters.

Speaker 1 (35:13):
So in our in our group chat on substack, handten,
listen to me subscribe, Nathan, you subs suggested you suggested
Peter Parker. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
I think that there was a lot writing on Peter
Parker in a lot of it, and it felt like
Tony also understood that Peter was really important and I
didn't know if. I mean, Peter was the only reason
that Tony agreed to help in Endgame, and so it
feels like they're trying to make Peter really important in this.
It feels like, I mean, who's the most popular Marvel

(35:49):
character of all time?

Speaker 1 (35:51):
Spider Man?

Speaker 2 (35:51):
And it always will be Spider Man, And so that
helps with Marvel kind of wanting to bring other people
in and agree with it, and I think it would
be I don't know many people that don't like Spider Man,
Like that's an easy.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
One, like a certain version better than others, right, But
everybody likes.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
Love Spider Man because he's Spider Man, and so that's
an easy way for Marvel to bring him in. He's important.
He's important now specifically because he's finding a different way
to become Spider Man and be who he's meant to
be in this time. So I think that there's there's
a lot that could be writing on that as well.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
Loki is central too in he's too.

Speaker 3 (36:33):
Central to be the Loki to central here can't be
and he can't. Yeah, he can't be the anchor being.
He'd be the anchor being, not just six one six,
he's the anchor being of Marvel. Yeah, as a whole
at this point, you can't.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
In general, No, no, I'm talking Marvel.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
Everything that has the Marvel name associated to it is
now dependent on Loki based on what we saw in
the move in the show.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
Agreed, Well, I but that but that's hard to ex
hard to say because in the show, oh, that's a
six one sixth story.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
But then he it's outside of that it is. I
mean that, Look, he was never really a six one
sixth Loki after he left. So I think that based
on the analogy we've been talking about, in the way
the Marvel then the multiverse is set up Loki's now
holding together Marvel at this point.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
Yeah, everything that I've found that hard to like wrap
my head around New rock Stars suggested Kang No No.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
I think they're trying to brush that under the rug
at this point.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
That under the well. But then the suggestion would be
they wipe him out in six one six somehow, and
that creates the incursions that leads to to secret.

Speaker 2 (37:45):
War, bring in a new character to kill him off,
and a movie then make him that important. That feels
like a big cop out, and I know a lot
of people, including myself, wouldn't really be happy with that.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
I don't think that's a that's the move, all right. Well,
the last one was the one that I was we've
been looking about and teasing about. I don't think it's
the case. Looper put this one out as a suggestion
as a theory molecule. Man, you guys know anything at
all about that? Not a clue, all right. So he's
his character named Owen Reese. He's a central character too

(38:17):
Fantastic for You. It was one of the original villains
in The Fantastic for You, alongside Galactus, alongside Doctor Doom,
alongside Silver Surfer, alongside I'm thinking of somebody other beyonders
with this. He can manipulate matter and reality, and when

(38:38):
he dies, the reality that he's a part of ceases
to exist with him.

Speaker 3 (38:43):
So he's Doctor Manhattan. I don't know where that is
pretty much from The Watchman, the big glowing blue guy.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
I don't know the Watchman Nate. Is this Doctor Manhattan.

Speaker 2 (38:51):
That kind of Doctor Manhattan is just all basically an
all powerful being of nuclear Yeah, so not quite the same,
but I can see how there would be a relationships just.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
The manipulating matter in reality. It sounds very doctor it is.
It is. Yeah, So the reason that they brought him
up and it's not there's no way that he's the guy.
They're not going to introduce him at the end of
a Fantastic four movie and to make him the anchor
being of six one six. But he's really really critical
in both versions of the Secret Wars in nineteen eighty

(39:23):
four and the twenty fifteen versions of Secret Wars. Even
more so in the twenty fifteen version. I'm almost hurt.
We're going to get him, and I can see, I
can see what you.

Speaker 2 (39:35):
Can get him, but I don't think we'll have him
he's not in that central No, I don't think he'll
be that central. But yeah, hopefully that cleared up some
of the confusion about anchor beings and hopefully got you
interested in finding out more about them. But that's that's
pretty much all we know at this point, which is
not a lot. All right, well that's going to do
for this episode. If you aren't quite sure whateur release
schedule is or need some brushing up on it. Monday

(39:57):
we talk about what we're excited about next steps. Monday
is probably gonna be Alien Romulus. I'm gonna be super
excited to see that. Wednesday's we talk about new Comic
book Day, the comic sat coming out, what we're reading
in a comic book. Topic today was, of course the
Anchor Beings, and Friday is our monthly series. This month,
we're going through the Accolte and we're going to be
talking about the production quality and everything around that should be.

Speaker 1 (40:22):
It's a different conversation. Actually, I am excited to have
this conversation. We're going to be talking about things I
don't think you'll hear in other contexts and other conversations,
and not from the production sucks, which is what some
people have just harped on it exclusively, right, but please
follow us on substack.

Speaker 2 (40:40):
We have weekly recaps, in depth exploration, community engagement, everything
that goes along with that.
