Speaker 1 (00:00):
Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the ever changing world
of technology? Check it Out can help make some sense
of it all, breaking down geeks speak into street speak.
Technology columnist, author, and TV personality Mark Saltzman covers consumer
technology each week for every listener, Mark tackles the latest news, reviews,
and how toos to help you understand what's hot, what's

(00:21):
not and why.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Hey everyone, welcome to check it Out. It's episode four two.
If you're new to this show. This is a weekly
radio program and podcast that breaks down geek speak into
street speak. And we celebrated the four hundredth episode two
weeks ago and gave away an Asus laptop to a
lucky listener. Then on last week's show, we announced another contest,

(00:48):
this time open to both Americans and Canadians, to give
away an Ecovac's prize pack, which consists of two robot
cleaners for the home, the award winning DBot X nine
pro on which is both a robot vacuum and mop
in one unit, and the wind Bot W two pro Omni.
It's a window washing robot that's right can clean your

(01:10):
windows and glass doors inside and outside your home with
a combined value of twenty three hundred dollars and so
I'll announce the winner in a moment. It was a
random draw. I'll get to that. But this contest, courtesy
of Ecovas, was open to those age eighteen or older,
and I simply asked listeners to use the hashtag tack
it out on your favorite social media platform or send

(01:33):
me an email from my website with the words teck
it out in the subject line. Well, we had more
than six hundred and thirty five entries, and I used
the website calculator dot net which has a random number generator.
And the person who won this Ecovas prize pack is
Kayla Solomon. Congratulations Kayla Solomon from Toronto. She tagged me

(01:55):
on Instagram and I advised her yesterday about her big
win and she allowed me to say her name on
the air. Her company name, by the way, is Sleeping Beauties.
Kayla is listed as a certified holistic family sleep coach
and so I hope she can sleep tonight. She was
excited that she won, and her company's Instagram handle, by

(02:15):
the way is official Sleeping Beauties. So at Official Sleeping Beauties.
I checked it out after she won. Impressive work that
she does, and yes I did want to acknowledge. I
got some flack publicly a couple of weeks ago when
our laptop contest was only open to US listeners, but hey,
that's how it goes. Asus US gave away the laptop,

(02:37):
but by chance a Canadian one this week's prize, which
again was open to both countries. So there you go.
The universe is balanced again. But thank you to the
many hundreds of people who entered to win, and it
seems like Instagram was the most popular way to enter. Interesting.
I also received messages on Facebook, on x a couple
on threads. There was a few entries on TikTok as well.

(03:00):
I got a bunch of emails from my website, Mark
Saltzman dot com, but Instagram seemed to be the most
popular platform for this contest by far. We'll have to
do another giveaway soon. It was supposed to be just
for the four hundred episode of the show, but then
Ecovax caught wind of it and said, hey, we'll give
away some stuff too, So yeah, if companies want to
hit me up, if they've got some great stuff to
give away, then it's a win win all around, right,

(03:21):
I'd love to take care of my tech it out listeners.
All right, onto today's show. We have a pair of
great guests to get to. We're going to kick things
off with the most high tech safe on the market today,
you know, like a safe to store your valuables in
your home. Well, this is really high tech. Cue the
Mission Impossible music. You know, like I can imagine Tom

(03:42):
Cruise suspended from the ceiling on a wire, you know
that kind of thing. It's called the Space Safe. So
we're going to hear all about that, and then LG
will stop by to chat about what's new in TVs.
What are the benefits to some of these technologies you
may have heard about, like oh led, So we're going
to talk television a little bit later in the show.
We'll also hear about a new portable TV that you

(04:04):
can roll around or carry around your home or even
outside of it. And you can also view content vertically,
not just horizontally like most TVs, So when you're watching
tiktoks or Instagram, speaking of Instagram, you can see it
in portrait view instead of landscape. Cool. All of this
and more on an all new tech get out powered
by Visa, which I'll tell you more about shortly, but

(04:25):
without further ado, let's officially kick off the new show
with our first interview. Tech has changed virtually every product
and service over the years. Am I right? But did
you know the first safes date back to ancient Egypt,
complete with the locking mechanism to protect your valuables. Well,
fast forward to twenty twenty five, and while things may
not have changed much in that space, they have now

(04:48):
with a new and very high tech safe called the
Space Safe. Joining us on the line to tell us
all about it is Oscar Hidea. He's tech inventor and
founder of Space That's the company behind the Space Safe.
Welcome to the program, Oscar.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Thank you and thank you for having me before.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
We hear about the smart safe. What would you say
is wrong with today's home based safs?

Speaker 4 (05:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (05:09):
So, according to the FBI, a home is broken into
every twenty six seconds, and ninety nine percent of the
safe sold today are traditional safes. They offer no connectivity
to your safe, and if someone attempts to tamper with
your metal box, there's no mobile app notifications, and you'll
only know when you physically check the safe, which for
some could be hours, days, weeks before you find out

(05:32):
that something may have happened to your valuables. And what's
even more scary is to know that eighty percent of
safe sold today are really cheap materials like very thin
metal and low quality budget locks, which could be pretty
much like Pride open and or just picked up and
walked off with. And so twenty percent of the better

(05:53):
quality safes, which is far better, the issue still stands.
While they may be harder to break into, this safe
offer no connectivity or ability to know what's happening in
real time. So basically these owners are left in the dark.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
All right, So that's good segue Oscar to tell us
about your space safe. I just watched your YouTube video
recorded back at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas when
you're walking around the booth and giving a demo of
this product. It was super impressive. Please tell us about it.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
Yeah, thanks Mary.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Yeah. So we debuted our smart safe, which is called
the Space Safe, at CES and at the Shot Show
in January twenty twenty five.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
People love the product.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
The booth was packed and there were super unique features.
And I think what sets us to part the most
when somebody sees it from AFAR is the sleek look
of the safe. At the shot show, we had an
image of a printer status displayed on the screen of
our safe, and so when people first saw us, they
thought we were selling a printer, and as they got closer,

(06:54):
they asked us, what's so special about your printer, and
we were able to say, well, actually it's not a printer,
but it's a safe, and you're able to put a
screen saver on your safe if you wanted to, because
we have a touch screen. So the word smart safe
today just means a safe that can be connected with
your mobile phone. It doesn't mean that these safe companies

(07:15):
are offering any advanced security features or any other tech,
and that's where most safe companies fail. We specifically have
changed the game and completely revolutionized what a smart safe is.
We invented and patented the world's first smart safe with cameras,
a touch screen, and an entire operating system that also

(07:35):
connects to your mobile phone. So you could think about
ring doorbell, but for safes with crazy operating system on there.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
All right, So for one, it looks like and you're right,
with that particular screen saver that you had on there,
it looks like a computer printer, so you don't have
to hide the safe, you know, behind a painting, like
you know, the cliched place that a lot of people
would hide a safe in their home. You could have
it in your home office and put some paper on top,
and a thief would actually think that was a computer printer.

(08:04):
And you can, of course change what that screen has
on the front. I guess. More importantly is that there's
access through your phone. So could you walk us through
what would happen. So let's say someone tries to open
the safe, there's a camera up inside and outside.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Exactly, So not only are we the first safe to
have camera, but we have two cameras, one on the
outside and one on the inside. The outside has motion sensors,
light sensors, and a camera on the outside. That way,
if somebody's coming close to the safe, we already start recording.
And if somebody does touch either the screen or try

(08:39):
to pick up the safe, there's a ton of different
sensors on the safe, and you'll get notified that way
right off the bat there's an intruder, or if it's
just your husband or your wife, you'll know right away
that they're trying to access something and So the beauty
of the inside of the safe is we have two
way talk through through this safe. There's a speaker, there's

(09:01):
a microphone, and so if you've left something in your
safe and you want to give somebody one time access
to your safe to get something that you've left behind.
Maybe it's a passport and you're heading to the airport,
you could see what you're touching and you could talk
to them in real time.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
That's so cool because this is radio oscar or an
audio based podcast. Can you just talk a bit more
about what it looks like.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
Yeah, if you want to go to our website, A
short link to our website is www dot sp dot toys.
It's like Sampeter dot toys. You can see video and
images there. But in general, the exterior is this black
metal box with curved edges, and instead of having those

(09:45):
obstrusive handles or turnobs, we've designed the front door with
a thirty five degree angle and made it where you
could put your hands under the bottom of the screen
to pull the door once you open and gain the
access to the safe. So the safe features an entire
front glass panel with a touchscreen behind it. So just
imagine a Tesla console with basically a box that's attached.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
And how big is the safe insign I mean, I
know you can keep money in their passports, like you said,
jewelry like a Rolex or diamond rings, that kind of thing,
but can it fit bigger items?

Speaker 3 (10:20):
So this is our first safe. This one is the
most standard safe size. So the exterior of the safe
is about seventeen inches by sixteen inches by ten inches.
You could fit quite a lot in there. You could
fit documents, a firearm, you could fit a computer, tablet, cash,
whatever you want in there.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Yeah, because I'm most familiar with a hotel safe, because
I don't have one in the house, I put my
iPad and stuff like that in there. So it's big
enough for that, yeah, exactly.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
And so we took the hotel safe size and we
added a little more height to it. We found that
that was something that was missing in hotel safes, which
is great if you're traveling, but if you have something
at home. And so we also have this clear glass
shelf that way, if you do want to store stuff inside,
the camera could see through the shelves to the bottom.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
Part also great.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
And good point about firearms because you're supposed to have
those locked up. Yeah, that's great. When we return on
teck it Out, we're going to continue on with space
Safe and learn about a few other features to keep
your stuff safe at home. Stick with us, We'll be
right back.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
Listen to check it out whenever you want to find
the check it Out podcast, did I Too, or wherever
you get your podcasts.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
Welcome back to check it Out. We are joined by
Oscar Jdea. He's tech inventor and founder of space and
It's space Safe, billed as the first smart safe with
a touchscreen, built in cameras and mobile app access. And so, Oscar,
you mentioned something earlier about if someone tries to take
the safe, because one of the downsides to the current

(12:01):
safes out there is that the locking mechanism may be go,
but it's just too portable and it could just be
picked up and left and then they worry about getting
into that later. But your is like an alarm goes
off on the app or is there an audible alarm
that that thief would here too?

Speaker 4 (12:15):
Oh yeah, great question.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
So our safe comparing to the other safes in our
industry that are this same size, our safe ways about
double the amount of weight why because we have a
lot more steel in there, so weighs about sixty five pounds.
And if anybody does try to lift the safe carry
the safe, we have a three access motion sensor which

(12:39):
initiates one hundred and thirty decibel siren.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
It's really loud.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
It's very annoying when you first hear the sound. It's
fine for the first couple of seconds, but after ten
seconds of listening to this thing, me having this in
my home, I want to run out of here. There's
nothing more annoying.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
I heard that on your video. Yeah, it's alarming. Pardon
the pun.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
Yeah, you get a notification on the screen of the
safe that says lockdown has been initiated, the police are
on their way, and this annoying sound comes on. And
then for the owner or the users who are connected
to the safe, because you could have several users, they
get a notification that says, hey, somebody is trying to
tamper with your safe. Check the cameras, and you could

(13:21):
basically notify the police from our mobile app as well. Yeah,
you're supposed to be connected at all times to your safe.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
That's great, whether you're home or not. Now I was
going to ask you next about the app. So in
real time, if someone opens the safe, you've got access
to the two cameras even before they open the safe,
you said, if it's triggered by motion or light, so
you can see the person's face, which could be helpful
if you need to work with the authorities. What about
going back in time? You know how like ring video
doorbells are free to chat with the person who's at

(13:52):
your front door like a courier in real time, but
you have to pay to go back in time through
the cloud storage. There is there anything like that with
the space safe app.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
Yeah, so we great question. We have a similar model.
It's live stream is free, so anytime you want to
open the mobile app, you could see the camera footage,
whether somebody is there or not. So it's just for
that moment. If you do want to have the storage
that's saved on the cloud, then you have to pay
a small fee. We don't really make money off of that.
It's really just to be able to pay for the storage.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
Got it. I'm going to ask you about pricing in
a moment, but I just want to know about power.
Since there's electronics here, including a touch green and cameras.
Is it plugged into the wall? Is it battery operated?

Speaker 3 (14:34):
That's a great question. So it's connected to the wall
twenty four to seven. You have to think of this
as a tablet. I think of your iPad. You could
only leave your iPad disconnected and using it for a
small amount of time, you know, theoretically. So we have
this battery, it's about ten thousand million amps and if

(14:54):
the power did go out, this backup battery would kick
in and you'll have up to t twenty four hours
of battery life.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
Yeah that's good.

Speaker 4 (15:02):
Yeah, yeah, if.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
That dies, we also have three mechanical keys, and we
have a mechanical system and we've partnered with Eva Evva,
one of the largest security lock companies in Europe, and
they're extremely secure. Lock picking lawyer even recommended their locks,
so that's kind of why we use them. So not

(15:27):
only is it a good security product in terms of
like the tech and being connected with control and visibility,
but also the hardware and security of the physical safe
is also pretty good.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Great, So it's heavier than many other safes, and you've
gotten advanced mechanical lock as a backup case power goes out.
The last question then is just how much does the
space safe cost and where can we learn more about
its dimensions and features and price and all that.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
Yeah, of course, so everything could be found on our
website www dot this spacesafe dot com. Or you could
go to our short link, which is www dot sp
dot toys and you could find everything there, or email
us if you have questions. The retail price is twelve
ninety nine and it's free shipping if you are living

(16:17):
in the US. If you're outside of the US, it's
about one hundred and fifty dollars to ship. So one
of the things I didn't say before about our safe
that I kind of wanted to point out now because
the usked about the retail price. We're the only safe
to have Ota updates. And while it may not sound exciting,
last year there were multiple brands which accumulated over five

(16:39):
hundred thousand saves that were recalled due to a problem
with a fingerprint sensor unlocking for people who didn't have
a fingerprint enrolled.

Speaker 4 (16:46):
On the other hand, they were.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
US who had that same issue. We could just do
a software update and resolve it.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
Good to know, Yeah, Ota is over the air, just
to bring everybody up to speed and is that through
your Wi Fi at home exactly, So there's for.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
More updates, thank you, and because they are safe. As
an operating system, we have over forty unique features like
two FA or panic pin. You could set up a
pattern or a pin recovery. And because of the OTA updates,
we constantly release new features and can patch any bugs
if we're made aware of them.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
And two FA is two factor authentication where you not
only need your password to enter in this case you're safe,
but also you need a second code sent to your
mobile device, so that just adds an extra layer of security.

Speaker 3 (17:30):
There's one more thing we get asked sometimes from people
is what if they don't want to connect it to
the Wi Fi? This safe does not need to be
connected to the Wi Fi to use it.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
It could be used.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
Offline, but if you are online you'll be able to
unlock all the features, where if you're offline you may
not be able to use everything.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
So you can keep it offline, and then if you
find that there's an issue and there's an update, you
can just join the Wi Fi, download the update, and
then take it back off your WiFi again if you're
concerned exactly, Hey, Oscar. Thank you so much for sharing
this info about the space Safe. Hope it does really
well for you and the website again for our listeners
is the spacesafe dot com or sp dot toys. I

(18:10):
hope you up a great summer. Thank you too, or
check it out right after this.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
Want to follow Mark Google, Mark with a C and
Saltzman with a Z breaking down geeksbeak into street speak.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
This is check it Out.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
Check it out with technology columnist, author, and TV personality
Mark Saltzman.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Welcome back to check it Out. We cover cybersecurity a
lot on this program and how you can best protect
yourself in the digital age, even if you're not super
tech savvy. One part of the solution is securely shopping online,
and so I'm thrilled about my partnership with Visa on
tech it Out, as they've made some significant investments in
fraud prevention over the past five years, as much as

(19:01):
ten billion dollars yes that's billion with a B, to
support Visa's brand promise to protect the financial information of
individuals and businesses. Zero liability means peace of mind when
you shop online using your Visa card. There can be
no half measures when it comes to cybersecurity, which is
why the company takes an aggressive and multi layered approach

(19:21):
to combating the rising threat of malicious software and other
threats by well funded and global criminal enterprises. Read more
about Visa and how securing the world's payments is priority
one at Visa dot Com slash Security. That's Visa dot
Com slash Security. If you're in the market for a
new television, it can be overwhelming when you realize how

(19:42):
many products there are to choose from, right from your
local big box store, specialty stores and online as well.
But if you're looking for a balance of picture quality, innovation,
smart TV features and options in size and price, look
no further than LGB is family of award winning televisions.
Back on the program is Jill Pereira, senior go to

(20:05):
market manager at LG Electronics. Hope you're doing great, Jill,
thanks for joining us again today.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
Hey Marx, thanks for having me again. It's great to
be here.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
As always, you always know how to break down geeks
speak into street speak for our listeners, which is what
I try to do with this program. So you're a
great guest. Can you tell our listeners a bit about
yourself and your expertise.

Speaker 4 (20:24):
Yeah, for sure. I've had the privilege of working with
LG for the last fifteen years, and most of that
time has been in the home entertainment space, so focusing
predominantly on TV and audio technology. To be honest, it's
been really fun and exciting kind of having a front
row seat at the forefront really of this evolution of TV,

(20:44):
you know, from plasma to LCD to LED now with
OLED being a part of the team that really brought
OLED to the market in twenty thirteen, you know, coming
up to about twelve years now. You know, we're really
happy that we've been able to do that and get
better each year, and you know, we've maintained our number
one spot in that category since since we launched, so

(21:05):
we're very excited about that.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
Yeah, congrats. That's a great place to start. How do
you explain what OLED is in plain English and what
specifically makes this year's OLED EVO lineup special?

Speaker 4 (21:18):
To explain that, I think, in its simplest way, I
would just remind everybody before OL ed, you basically had
a backlit TV technology that changed from basically having a
fluorescent bulb behind an LCD screen, and that's really what
lit the TV up, and that's how you were able
to see the picture. That evolved into an LVD light
so that a little bit smaller, a little bit brighter,

(21:40):
better contrast, but essentially the similar technology in its concept,
just the light structure changed and that's really when OLED
hit the market. And every single pixel, so every color dot,
if you want to look at it that way, every
pixel is independently controlled as if it was its own light.
So on a four KTV, you're talking about eight point

(22:03):
three million pixels that are each independently controlled. So the
image on screen is just uncomparable to any other TV
tech right now. And that's the core of it is
that self lip pixel capability.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
So we're talking greater contrast, so great darkness in those
movies where you want that. It also adds more depth
at the same time, it helps with richer colors. O
LEAD benefits from wide viewing angles. It's got a high
refresh rate, so great for gamers. Lots of benefits. It's
thin and light, easier to amount, it's more energy efficient.
The list goes on and on and so with LG's

(22:41):
EVO line of O LEAD televisions, what's new for twenty
twenty five.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
Yeah, so just quickly, so Evil for us is really
a step above our entry level OLIP so that would
specifically be our C series and our G series. So
both of those are sported with better processing, better brightness,
and overall better gaming and picture quality features. So if
we start looking at the G five first, it has
a brand new Alpha eleven processor. I want to talk

(23:08):
to you about that because I think maybe when someone's
buying a TV, they're not necessarily looking for processing per se.
But I think a lot of your listeners probably we're
looking at that when they bought a phone or their
last laptop or desktop, they look at those speeds and
feeds as a marker of quality. Would you agree with that?

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Yeah, one hundred percent. Yeah, it's something that we typically
pay more attention to. I would say for a computer,
even more than a phone, is that you look at
the processor, which is like the brains or the engine
that drives the computer's performance. And that's important for a
TV as well, because they are essentially turning more into computers,
at least smart TVs.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
Sure.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
Yeah, so each passing year they can do more and
the processing that is necessary to do that, and the
graphics cards and you know the CPU, so like how
fast it's able to do those things we're trying to
bring up to surf is to really showcase for the customer,
Like this is part of what makes LG special. So
the G five, for instance, has this Alpha leven processor,

(24:07):
so it's almost seven times better at upscaling low resolution
content than our entry level TVs would be. So that's
substantial because I think a lot of people aren't yet
watching full four K content right, so you really need
a powerful processor to get the best of what you're
paying to see really on Netflix or Prime Video, et cetera.

(24:29):
And on top of that, you need something that has
great brightness. This processor allows this new TV, the G five,
to be up to forty five percent brighter than it's predecessor,
the G four, one of the number one, if not
the number one rated TV across the board last year
or so. That's saying something it's important to mention, like
why should you care about brightness? It's really important for

(24:49):
two main reasons. It allows you to really enjoy that
TV no matter what your viewing environment looks like. So
if you're in a bright room during the day, if
you're in the basement, watching your top of the line
cinema at night, and anything in between. You need that
brightness really to combat any potential ambient light and maintain
that picture quality. So that's where I would say number one,

(25:11):
you should focus. Secondly, a lot of content that you're
watching on Netflix, Disney plus Apple plus whatever it's made
using high dynamic range content like Dolbey Vision, and in
order to get the most out of that future, you
really do need really good peak brightness. And that's really
what this TV.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
Authors awesome shell and the processor is also responsible for
the AI part of the TV, which I know we're
going to get to in a few minutes. All these
cool things you can do with your television today make
it easier too for those who aren't so tech savvy
to use your voice to change settings and things like that.
We'll get to that. So along with brightness, just to
close the loop on that, there's also perfect black and

(25:49):
perfect color that's also important in your television. Can you
tell us a bit about that.

Speaker 4 (25:54):
Yeah, it's not only the brightness, but the harmony of
how bright and how dark your TV can get. And
we're actually one of the only companies that has a
certified perfect Black panel on our ole edge.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
I had air quotes going with the perfect black and
perfect color. This is like a certification. Thank you for
that exactly more with Jill Peira from LG to talk TVs.
When we return on Check it Out, stay.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
With us breaking down geek speaking into street speak. Check
it Out hosted by Mark Saltzman.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
Welcome back everyone, you're listening to Check it Out. On
the line, We've got Jill Perreira with LG Electronics to
chat with us about TVs. Jill, before the break, you
were starting to talk to us about the importance of contrast,
why those dark levels matter in your movies and TV
shows and in games. We had to take a short break,
but please continue your thought.

Speaker 4 (26:57):
Yeah, I appreciate it having the anatomy that we have.
Some human eyes are actually more sensitive in the dark
than they are during the day. Right, So imagine you're
in a theater an hour into the movie and all
of a sudden, somebody pulls out their phone and they're
checking their messages, and how disruptive that can be to
the viewing experience. And it is kind of that element
of you need it perfect black to really showcase the
details in those dark scenes, whether you're watching Huse of

(27:20):
the Dragon or Last It's like a lot of this
new popular content has a very dark overall feel and
emotion to it, and that's where these perfect black capabilities
come into play, and they play nicely with this very
high peak brightness because they can really showcase that perfect
intended emotion as I mentioned, like the emotion, the immersiveness,

(27:42):
the vividness, and just the overall intensity of the show
as it's intended by the directors, and you really truly
need both to get the best version of the content.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
We are chatting with Jelle Pereira, he's senior go to
market manager at LG Electronics. We are talking about what's
new in TVs for twenty twenty five. I know there
are a couple of other are O LAD models you
wanted to chat about before we move on.

Speaker 4 (28:03):
Yeah, So rounding out the rest of the old head lineup,
we do have the C five that's coming out and
that will be available anywhere from forty two inches all
the way up to eighty three inches, So really something
for everybody, whether it's a gaming monitor or a basement
home theater that you want to get the top of
the line TV for so everything from the processor so

(28:24):
the Alpha nine that uses AI Picture and AI Soundpro
to refine visuals and audio to give you the best
entertainment experience possible at home, and fantastic gaming features as well.
So it doesn't matter if you're a film bluff or
you're a gamer that's looking for up to one forty
four Hurtz or g sync and free sync certifications and

(28:45):
all the key specs that a gamer is looking for.
The C series has definitely got something for everybody, and
it's part of our oled Evil lineup. So it's really
the C five and then into the G five, which
would be a bit brighter and a bit better processing.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
And when you talk about per color, it's also a
good segue to chat about LG's lineup of QND TVs
with really rich, vibrant colors and they offer good value too.
We've been talking mostly about Old so far, but could
we segue into QND.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
Basically, this is as good as it gets before you
get into OLIED, so typically that you're going to find
a fantastic picture quality, a bit more affordable than an
OLD would be, but basically it's the most premium led
offering that LG has to offer and is a combination
really of exclusive Lergy color technology that we refer to

(29:36):
as dynamic Community color and that sports a feature that
we have a certification for which is one hundred percent
color volume. So what does that mean and why should
you care? So essentially regardless of the viewing environment or
the brightness level of the TV. So no matter how
bright or how dark the room is, and no matter
how bright or dark the TV is, you're going to

(29:56):
be able to see the full range of colors capable
by that TV. So that's really important for a variety
of reasons. Most importantly, the versatility accommodates the customer regardless
are they in a condo, are they in a home,
are they in a town hall's basement, main level, second level.
It really it can be its best version regardless of

(30:17):
what situation it's being viewed in.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
Both the viewing environment as well as budgets, which, let's
face it, exactly not everyone has the same budget earmarked
for a new television. And that's what I was saying
off the top, is that LG has such a wide
variety of quality TVs whatever your budget is. We first
spoke about OLED TVs and then moved on to QND
series TVs for a really good value option that sounds

(30:40):
like a great lineup of choices. Shill, but tell us
please about the LG stand by Me too as part
of this year's lineup as well. It is a more
unique TV, let's say, compared to others.

Speaker 4 (30:52):
Very cool and very unique for sure. It's the successor
to our original stand by Me. So essentially it's a
twenty seven touchscreen TV that comes with a pull and
a base on wheels, So essentially, if you are in
the kitchen, in the living room, you're going back and
forth from a bedroom maybe onto the patio, it can

(31:12):
literally roll the TV around with you, so you kind
of like have to unlearn the traditional idea of where
a TV is going to go and where it would
be best fit. This is really the versatility of portability
and no matter where you are in the home, you
can essentially bring it with you. But beyond that, now
with the second version, you have a push button release

(31:33):
so you can actually pull it off the stand and
it comes with a kind of a pedtfolio style cover
in the box, almost making it like a little kickstand.
So if you do have a table let's say on
the patio, maybe you're doing a barbecue, under the deck,
or really anywhere. You can bring it on the goal,
you can bring it to work, you can bring it
to the cottage. Has a four hour battery life built
in with USBC, so you can actually charge this on

(31:55):
the goal as well. So it makes it a very
unique and versatile product. qHD resolution, so the picture quality
is fantastic, and it really has all the different applications
you would be looking for from the TV and also
some cool new ones that really highlight the use case
of the screen. So you have something called let's draw,
so it's kind of like a whiteboard to color and draw,

(32:16):
and you can actually turn those into a screensaver. Different
types of skins for clocks and fireplaces and final music players,
and a lot of different really cool options to make
the most out of this product.

Speaker 2 (32:27):
Not only is it a portable TV, like you said,
you can bring it outside to watch the game while
you're grilling, and then the kids have a sleepover they
typically don't have a TV in their bedroom, you can
allow them to watch Disney movies that night, bring it
to the kitchen to follow along with recipes and so on.
But there's one more thing that this TV can do
that most others can't, and I'm gonna save that for
after this very short break, because this is pretty wild,

(32:51):
especially if you're like my wife Kelly, who consumes a
lot of video content on TikTok and Instagram. This TV
does something really cool. Again, it's the LG stand By
Me Too. We're going to hear what that is after
this short break. You are listening to check it out.
I'm your host, Mark Saltzman. We'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
Follow Mark Saltzman on Facebook, on Twitter, on Instagram. Listen
to check it out whenever you want.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
We're chatting with Joe Brera from LG to Talk TVs.
We're learning about the stand by Me Too before the breakout,
saying that I love that not only is it wireless
with a battery that lasts for a couple of hours,
but I also love the fact that you can also
view this vertically, So if you're looking at online content
like TikTok or Instagram and all that, you can also
use the stand by Me Too in vertical instead of

(33:49):
horizontal format.

Speaker 4 (33:50):
Yeah, and of course, yeah so yeah, both portrait and
landscape mode. And then you do have some modifications to
the heights and to the angle of the screen soul
if you're you know, maybe taking a salt soak and
you want to finish the show, or you're at the
kitchen counter and it's hire, or you're at your desk
and it's lower. So it doesn't afford a lot of
those different types of modifications to really fit the perfect

(34:13):
use case and a variety of those use cases, so
it makes it a very unique product.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
As we wrap up, Jill, if I had to press
you on your favorite one standout feature out of all
the lgtvs in the lineup, what would it be.

Speaker 4 (34:27):
I'm going to cheat a bit. I'm going to say
it's a one A one B. So they're both picture
optimization features. And that's just because I love watching my
TV shows and my movies, and I've come across some
interesting data that shows most TV buyers do not switch
the preset settings, but those who do will rely on
the experts. So we have a feature called Filmmaker Mode,

(34:49):
So that's basically all the top directors in the world.
They've come to a consensus on what your TV should
look like when they're watching their content, So we have
that feature called Filmmaker Mode. This year we're adding a
ambient light compensation, so it still maintains their initial desired look,
but it can accommodate your unique viewing environment. So that's

(35:11):
a really cool combination there. The second part of that
would be it's essentially the same thing, but instead of
using the experts, it's using AI. So it's called AI
Picture and Sound Wizard, which can customize a preset setting
based on your inputs and it would be completely unique
to you. It actually considers over a billion different image settings,
so it's very unique and customizable and it does really,

(35:33):
i think, enhance the overall viewing experience, customized and tailored
to what you prefer.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
There's so much we didn't even get to, Jill, like
the free LG streaming channels that you have exclusively with
your TVs, a ton of great content. Love to have
you back at some point, but thanks so much for
your time. Jill Pereira has been our guest from LGLG
dot com to learn more about these televisions. Thank you
so much. Y'll have a great summer. Appreciate your time.

Speaker 4 (35:58):
Thanks for having me again. Mark, great to be here
as always.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
Yeah, thank you to LG and to the space company
space Safe for joining us. I also want to give
a shout out to sand disc. They make awesome storage
solutions for your laptop, your desktop, your phone, your tablet,
and that includes iPad iPhone models, and they're so fast.
These flash drives are solid state drives and USB drives

(36:23):
that not only can you just back up files to
transfer between devices or to keep long term, but it's
so fast that you can run content off the drives.
So if you're a content creator and you're doing a
bunch of editing, you can edit right off the drives.
Or you're a gamer with your PS five, Xbox Series
X or your PC or even Nintendo Switch, you can
play games right off the drive. It's as if it

(36:44):
was your internal storage, which is awesome. Sanddisk dot com
has more. They also have a bunch of sales, even
coming after Amazon Prime Day. I also want to take
this opportunity to thank Visa one last time. Did you
know that shoppers are three times more likely to enter
an unfamiliar or if it displays a Visa logo outside,
and customers are five times more likely to think a

(37:05):
merchant as reputable. This is because Visa has invested billions
over the years in fraud prevention, so you don't need
to think twice about shopping at retail or online with
your Visa card, nor should businesses be concerned about secure payments.
Visa is deploying advanced technology to ensure customer data is
not vulnerable no matter where the transaction takes place. This

(37:26):
includes tokenization powered by Visa as one part of the solution,
which reduces the risk of identity theft because this technology
replaces your cardholder info with the random alphanumeric code, so
the merchant never sees your actual card number, yet ensures
a fast transaction as well. To learn more about Visa's
work in protecting you and your purchases, head over to

(37:48):
Visa dot com slash Security. That's Visa dot Com slash Security.
A huge congrats once again to our big contest winner
this week, Kayla Solomon, for winning the Ecovas prize pack,
which consists of two robot cleaners for your home. The
d bot x nine pro Omni, which is both a

(38:09):
powerful robot vacuumn mop in one unit, and the wind
Bot W two pro Omni, a window washing robot. It's
like magic, it likes sections to your windows and it'll
just navigate itself and clean your windows corner to corner.
You can also use it in your home like shower
doors and all that. Very cool. The prize is worth
twenty three hundred dollars, so thank you to Ecovas for

(38:29):
