you want to get.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
The good news is we're here. We appreciate your support
and you thank you, thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
And the bad news is we are recorded this week.

Speaker 5 (01:05):
Because also good news, we're having a little family early
bird dinner.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
We're about to take Spencer back to.

Speaker 5 (01:13):
College Clark Atlanta on Thursday, So we had a little
you know, family dinner on Wednesday, which is the time
of course we normally come to you with the Married
in Media podcast.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
So we're not live, You're gonna be it's gonna be brief.
We're just gonna have fun, get in and get out. Okay,
let's do it and see the full show next week.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
All right. So we're gonna start with asking what do
you want to start with?

Speaker 5 (01:38):
Okay, so you wanted to say, we're gonna introduce you.
You you can let us know. Because we were talking.
We had a production meeting before and Mark had come
up with a couple of new features and so you
let us know what you like and all of that
and what you might want to be involved in.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
So we know we're gonna do ask Allison, but you had.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
A nod to uh feature this that you made very
popular during your time in New York, right.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
Or just to get some games, some music, games, let
me say, some games stuff.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
So the question is do y'all like games or do
you like do you like our conversations really kind of
like just us?

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Is us enough?

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Or do you like a little you know, cherot because
so basically, you know, play a couple of games. The
question is do you like games? And I'll show you
for an example of a couple of games that we're
thinking about, and of course, up for grabs the brand
new Alison Mark podcast t shirt.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
Yes that's right, get them while they're hot.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
They're not here yet, but I'm just saying you get
them while they're hot, and they're really hot right now
because they don't exist.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
But I'm just saying in theory that's what would be.

Speaker 5 (02:44):
Okay, So, so want to start.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
With and how many?

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Okay, this is a pretty good one too. But I'm
glad you're here, and of course please chime in if
you like, and you can see everybody's answers. Okay, so
you know, if you've never witnessed, asked Allison, it starts like.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
This, he's the only one with the yeah, Alison, now

(03:50):
this is actually that.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
This is a real one for I stole from a site.
So please don't sue us if this is blessing in Hyundai.
This sounds like the Another Country baby. Anyway, fifty three
years and my wife forty nine. The issue is that
the issue that brought me here is my wife's properties.
I married this woman three years ago. She lost her
husband when she was forty two, and I met her
with three kids.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
The late husband left five houses.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
And three big farms, which are doing well for the
year now. I've been asking my wife to at least
change two houses and put my name on them so
that in case I die, my kids and my family
can inherit.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
She has refused. Please advise, Allison.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Why would she do that something your kids when you die?

Speaker 4 (04:35):
Bro? What did you talk about.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
The problem is, sir? The problem is this man is
fifty three years now. What like that's something? Let me
tell you some advice, buddy. That's something she has to do.
That's something she has to that was.

Speaker 5 (04:50):
Something that her late husband left for her.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
I don't know if she has kids or not.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
But sir, and a year thirsty as hell.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
If you're like, oh, you guys are year into it,
that was an easy one.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
It feels like that.

Speaker 5 (05:05):
So here's what I will say. Okay, put everybody's name
on it. That's fine, but please, and this is advice
to everybody. Get your trust or your will together. I
don't care if you have fifteen cents. Family will fight
over it, okay. And it sounds like he came into
the marriage with children, right, and so he wants it
to be he wants his kids to have a piece

(05:26):
of the pie if he dies. I'most stick with my
original answer, and that would be no sorry.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
In this country, sir. I think you're trying to have
a come up. Yeah, trying to up son.

Speaker 5 (05:36):
Look, and the serious thing, if she wants to put
your name on it, I get it, Like if she
passes and there's but she needs to together.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
They need to sit down with a lawyer and.

Speaker 5 (05:44):
Talk about who gets what in the event of her
passing and his. But that is hers and for her family.
And now I know they're married, because I can hear
some people say it, and I know they're married.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
That's fine.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
He could, Yes, maybe he can get something so divided
amongst your stuff.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
So she passes away, he gets fifty percent of it.
That's what you're going to divide amongst your family, predicts
the family. He did, because let us know what you're thinking.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
That was me.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
Yeah, that's not raised Now I would say no, because
if that.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
Were you, it raises a question mark.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
It raises a question mark.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
However, if you came into the marriage and I had
a lot of property and wealth, yeah, if I want
to then put you on the will, then I'm going
to do that. But it's not just going to be like, okay,
well we're married. Now you put it in my name too,
like so she.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
It has to come to that in fact, not to
share our business. But I will say I remember we
had this situation happen when when your parents passed, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
And the lady came over. Now remember my mother.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Jackie and mom and her assistant living baby when I
took her to the bank hunting.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
She was not miss Johnson. Do you want me to
put your no?

Speaker 3 (07:03):
No, you know my business? No, no, no, that's my money.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
But you know what, put your child's name on it. Okay, yeah,
so we're not always gonna be here and you don't
want your money frozen.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
So well, And I said, so I say that, babe,
because when we had that moment in your family, your
family whatever, and you're like, yeah, sure, go ahead.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
I was sitting there like, yeah, I would if you
had have been If you weren't cool with that, I
would be no.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
But I'm so, I think it's two different issues here.

Speaker 5 (07:30):
So having his name on the stuff in case something
happens to her, I think that's fair unless the husband
left it to the kids. Like we don't know the
whole story.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
Well, but like you said, trust or you have some
kind of thing. Yes, sir, asking to do it is
not the and I predicted divorce. Hate to say that,
but I predictable.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
So that is our vetted, tried and true Ask Allison
Survived life.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
So that's a great feature.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
These feature just for just for reference, started when I
was at Fox five. We did Ask Allison segment on Fridays.
It was wonderful. We had some really great topics.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
And so then let us know if you like these
games we're gonna keep ask Allison. Of course, that's the
staples of the show. These are something that I came
up with that I thought were, you know, curious about it.
So the first one is called, uh, you know, for
those who don't know, I'm a saxophone player, I grew
up being playing saxophone, so you know, I'm a saxophone players.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
Probably just came up the best sacks ever. Ha ha ha.
That's the name of the game.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Okay, So basically, you name the song and the artist
that this sax riff is from. Okay, so in this example,
this would be this is probably this is one of
the most famous sax rifts ever. So let's give it.
So now, okay, we put it out there now, Georgia, Yes, yes, Allison?

Speaker 2 (08:47):
You okay, Alison, how are you?

Speaker 4 (08:49):
Allison?

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Gonna never Gonna dance again, never gonna love again, never
gonna guilty, never gonna dance again.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
Yeah no, that's you know the name of the song,
though I.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
Thought it was never Gonna dance again. You know, that's
how we do it. What's the first lyrics?

Speaker 5 (09:08):
Guilty and you'll get the guilty pleasures Guilty.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
What's his name of the song?

Speaker 4 (09:14):
And you would not have won.

Speaker 6 (09:15):
You would not want to tell you something guilty, careless whisper,
careless whisper.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
Congratulations.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
So Allison, if he had said caroless whisper, we would
say congratulations, Allison, you are our winner. And you say,
what are you gonna win? Okay, this is what you're
gonna win. You're asking me, Allison, Yeah, what are we
gonna win?

Speaker 2 (09:33):
I need some headphones next week. I can't do it.
I can't hear it.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
That's what you're gonna win.

Speaker 2 (09:38):

play with your money. Use a voice you can trust.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
You can't play with my money.

Speaker 6 (10:03):
All right, So that's it money, Okay, So that's fun.

I love to hear Alice.

Speaker 2 (10:17):

Speaker 3 (10:22):

Speaker 4 (10:27):
You basically finished the lyric.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Okay, finish the lyric. Okay, and so finished the hip
hop lyric.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Finish the hip hop lyric and you're so bib number
you're number two. Read that number two for me because
it's gonna sound so cute when you read it.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Because in this Houston classic masterpiece, what couldn't the author
understand about a man?

Speaker 4 (10:47):
Okay, levon Tevas, what do you say? And the type of.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
That's it's not a clip?

Speaker 3 (10:53):
Yeah, have a clip. So I'm saying they're going to
guess what. Okay, you go ahead, Levantina, and you're not
that my favorite?

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Damn uh huh.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
He said.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
I never understood why man didn't see a man cry
to him to see a man die. We said, well,
let's see, let's find out. Let's see what he says. Okay, Oh,
you are correct, loving Titas and there it is. Congratulations.

We're working it out. I think that would be fun
to do at the end of the show. How we
in the show.

Speaker 4 (11:44):
Okay, and then of course our sponsor Alis and C. E.

Speaker 3 (11:48):

Speaker 3 (11:55):

just stuff whatever.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
So Okay, we're not here and we're not doing a
full show, but I.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
Want to do I want to do a shout out
and thank you.

Speaker 5 (12:10):
I'm tremendously proud two say, I'm just living in this honor.
This is amazing because it is like it was told
to me last week. I think at some point that
there there's an organization, you you know, like the world

(12:31):
is familiar with it now because Republican presidential nominee I'm
from spoke at the National Association of Black Journalist conference, right.
So it's an ABJ national National Association of Black Journalists
and association. They have several ones for different minority groups

(12:51):
in media. There's a you know, the Asian American, Hispanic American,
all this right, so any by the National Black Association
and ABJ National Association Black Journalists. They have local chapters, right,
So the w ABJ, the Washington Association of Black Journalists

(13:12):
is here of course, and I was recently told that
I was receiving the Lifetime I think it's the Lifetime
Achievement Award for you for Black journalists in Washington. And
the reason why it is so special to me besides

(13:32):
just the fact that somebody saying, hey, I've seen you,
you've been around. It's for journalists who have been on
the air for fifteen years or more. And I've been
in DC for twenty five years, and it's beautiful. It's
an honor and a privilege. And so to receive this recognition,
especially in DC, like that's all I wanted to do.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Is come back home the DC and be on TV.

Speaker 5 (13:56):
Because I wanted to be Maureen bunyant. I wanted to
you know, that was my that was who I wanted
to be. And Maureen Bunyan actually was very influential in
the founding of these organizations. So anyway, it just feels
like a full circle moment and I was just super
and thank you for everybody who was chimed in my
social media to say congratulations.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
I really appreciate each and every one of you. This
means the world to me.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
Congratulations, bab I'm so proud of you.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
I'm so glad that I was able to be with
you in another place to have you come back and
witnessed that journey because we would have crab cakes in
Saint Louis and they would talk about coming back home.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
And then it happened.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Yeah, and then ever since, amazing years of marriage.

Speaker 4 (14:42):
Yeah, twenty five more.

Speaker 5 (14:44):
Thank you, not know years ready to have a silver
retire soon, not yet soon to have a seat.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
So we got next week.

Speaker 5 (14:55):
I think by the time we rejoin you next week,
the Hearty National Convention will going on.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
I think that's next week.

Speaker 5 (15:02):
Some of the speakers came out, of course, you know,
the Clinton's Obama.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
I forget who else is going to speak, but it
should be very interesting.

Speaker 5 (15:10):
Lots of stuff going on politically as we wind down
to this election.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
Four so I have a great one. We will see
you soon. Thank you, Thank you, thank you.
