And now, ladies and gentlemen, it's time for Angel Quest
with Karenoi on Hudson River Radio dot com.

Speaker 7 (02:02):
Well hello, everyone, Welcome to the Angel Quest Show. I'm
Karen Noi, author of Your Life after Their Death through
the Eyes of Another Week Consciousness. I'm so happy that
doctor Moncey Vera is my guest today. Moncey is a
naturopathic doctor whose core belief is that true healing begins
by addressing the root cause of illness, rather than merely

(02:24):
managing symptoms. She advocates for personal growth and self discovery,
weaving together her expertise in mindfulness, energy healing, and holistic
therapies to cultivate lasting well being and an aligned and
empowered life. Her own transformative journey through navigating debilitating and

(02:44):
rare diseases have inspired her to create experiences for individuals
to reconnect with their inner cells and ultimately heal from
the impossible. It is such an honor to have you
here today. Welcome month see.

Speaker 8 (03:01):
Thank you so much Karen for having me. Super excited
to be on your show.

Speaker 7 (03:06):
Thank you so much for joining us. We met in
Costa Rica. It was an amazing experience.

Speaker 9 (03:13):
It really was.

Speaker 7 (03:16):
So Before we start, I'd love to know why you
chose naturopathic medicine.

Speaker 8 (03:22):
Yeah, naturopathic medicine kind of fell in my labs. It
you know, it wasn't something that I knew about when
I was in high school college, you know, going through
my pre medical you know, requisites and all of that.
But in the process of applying to medical school, and

(03:43):
you know, we have to shadow in the hospitals and
work with doctors and just with my own health experiences
from childhood too, something just seemed off.

Speaker 9 (03:55):
I knew that there was.

Speaker 8 (03:57):
More to how I wanted to practice medicine stead of
just treating symptoms. And that was the way that mainstream
medicine was at that time and definitely is now too.
And it was something that in the middle of my
applications for traditional medical school, my mom kind of came

(04:17):
across something, you know, along the lines of like naturopathic medicine,
and then she's like, look into it, and so I
looked into it and never looked back after that. I
knew this was exactly what I wanted to do, get
to the root cause of illness and disease instead of
just treating the symptoms.

Speaker 7 (04:36):
That's so awesome. For those who don't know the difference
between what you're practicing and traditional allopathic medicine, can you
tell us what the difference is?

Speaker 8 (04:47):
Yeah, So In terms of medical school, our training is
four years. We have a similar, you know, comparable curriculum
with basic sciences, you know, biochem, anatomy, physiology, and all
the specialty classes as well, including pharmacogy. So we in

(05:09):
many states we are considered primary care physicians as well.
We can even prescribe medications in certain states too, but
that's not the approach that we take.

Speaker 9 (05:20):
We really do.

Speaker 8 (05:21):
Try to get to the underlying cause of disease, the
root cause medicine and in some ways functional medicine too,
looking at the biochemical pathways of what's going on, where
the deficiencies are, where are their blockages, and how can
we work on those pathways, and then that leads to
overall health beautiful.

Speaker 7 (05:42):
I've noticed I practice reiki at my center in New Jersey,
and you know, we as I'm doing, and I'm receiving
messages from deceased loved ones. But for the most part
when people come to me for healing, I have notice,
for the most part, healing occurs when we heal mind, body,
and spirit. It's never just the physical body. Can you

(06:03):
explain why that is?

Speaker 8 (06:06):
It never is a physical body alone because every everything
is interconnected, right you can't separate the mind, body, spirit.

Speaker 9 (06:13):
We we often live in a world.

Speaker 8 (06:16):
Where we think they're separate entities, and we're kind of
programmed in culture that way, but they're all interconnected. What
happens in the mind is often reflected physically and vice
versa too, And the spirit is what gives energy to
our thoughts, our minds, our beliefs, systems, our thinking patterns,
and those in turn affect our physical health. And while

(06:36):
that may not sound direct, you know, in the practice
of both energy healing and even naturopathic medicine, we really,
we really do integrate that spirit component to medicine. And
how and why how I practice.

Speaker 9 (06:53):
Is individual medicine.

Speaker 8 (06:54):
You know, two people can come in with the same
physical illness on the outside, but my treatment protocol for
them might be very different depending on what other factors
are going on, you know, if they're stressed in certain ways,
what their spirit is like, you know, So it all
does matter.

Speaker 7 (07:12):
And stress is a major contributor to illness, isn't it.
I've seen that in my own practice and in my
family as well.

Speaker 8 (07:19):
Oh yes it is, and we don't give it enough credit.
How powerful stress can be. Yeah, yeah, So.

Speaker 7 (07:28):
What would you recommend if you're working with someone who's
going through a stressful circumstance in their life, would you
talk to them about it and what they should do?

Speaker 8 (07:38):
Absolutely, And you know, it's also about meeting where the
patient is, to meeting them halfway, because many people are
resistant to talk about acknowledge it, acknowledge that stress is
even playing a role. So the first step is the
acknowledging and talking to them, but also seeing where you
know where they are with understanding the impact of stress

(07:59):
in their life, and then how ready are they to
invite changes, so whether they are lifestyle changes, changes in
the work, changes in relationships, all of those avenues are
you know, things that we can work on and I
talk about with patients and we kind of work on
each component one at a time until the whole, you know,

(08:21):
the circle of life starts being more filled and we're
able to incorporate more and more tools to work on
stress management.

Speaker 7 (08:29):
That's beautiful. And for those local listeners, you're located in
New Jersey, so I was looking for someone for my
clients and friends to go to.

Speaker 8 (08:40):
So you're located in New Jersey, I am yes, and
you see patients virtually, So.

Speaker 7 (08:48):
Beautiful Oh, that's wonderful.

Speaker 9 (08:50):
Yeah, wonderful.

Speaker 7 (08:52):
They have to get blood tests or anything like that, so.

Speaker 9 (08:55):
I can do the blood testing for them as well.

Speaker 8 (08:58):
I worked I worked with a medical doctor that allows
me to do blood work.

Speaker 9 (09:03):
We're pre licensed in the.

Speaker 8 (09:05):
State, so each each state, unfortunately is different in the
way we can practice naturopathic medicine. But because I am
affiliated with other doctors, I can run blood work. I
can do functional blood testing as well, which can give
us a lot of insight into what is happening at
the biochemical level, and then provide the customized treatment plans.

(09:28):
And they really are customized to the individual.

Speaker 7 (09:31):
Yes. Most importantly, when you were talking about your story
in Costa Rica, I was intrigued how you healed yourself
through these modalities. Can you tell us about your journey
and how you healed from these debilitating set of diseases.

Speaker 9 (09:54):
Yeah, so, I guess you know.

Speaker 8 (09:57):
My journey really starts from when I was as a child.
I always had weird symptoms, would have very like severe
symptoms that would suddenly get better. I would be hospitalized
and they would get better, and it was always a mystery.
No one could understand what was going on, and it
was part of the reason why I wanted to become
a doctor in the first place, because I wanted to

(10:17):
understand what was happening to me and why doctors didn't
necessarily go in detail and take the time to understand.
So that already was, you know, playing a role in
why I wanted to become a doctor and what kind
of doctor. But fast forward to medical school. I was,
you know, I graduated, I completed all the examinations, and

(10:43):
then I went on a trip to India for a
pilgrimage and we came back down. It was, you know,
it was quite high elevation. We came back down and
I suddenly became paralyzed from neck down completely and my
whole body. I mean, it just it seemed like, okay,

(11:03):
this is this is the end of something. I didn't
know if I would make it. And my vitals were
not normal, very very out of whack.

Speaker 9 (11:13):
And then we're.

Speaker 7 (11:14):
Alone on this journey.

Speaker 8 (11:16):
By the way, I wasn't alone the in terms of
the pilgrimage. We were actually with a big group of
people in our Setsung group, so that was a lot
of people. But I came back to my friend's place
and my parents had gone to another city in India.
So during this time I was alone. Yeah, when when

(11:38):
all of the symptoms started in my body, and that's
that's all I could remember, where the nurses in the
room or we're saying, I don't think.

Speaker 9 (11:50):
She's going to make it. And that's how I felt.

Speaker 8 (11:53):
I cannot describe the feeling, but it was almost like
rigor mortis when all the muscles and everything stiffened up
and you can't move.

Speaker 9 (12:03):
And that's what it happened.

Speaker 8 (12:05):
And yeah, I was in and out of consciousness and
at some point, you know, was like, this is the end.

Speaker 9 (12:15):
Someone called my mom. I need to say sorry for
everything my whole life.

Speaker 7 (12:20):
Were you able to Did you go through your life
review or no?

Speaker 8 (12:24):
I think because I saw some type of light saying
that everything will be okay. Somehow, somehow, that was the
message that I got, even though moments before is when
I saw death or that near death experience, and everything

(12:44):
shifted in that moment. My mom said the same thing.
She's like, you will be okay. And yeah, and things
were okay in the sense that I survived that. You know,
we got the medications that we needed right away, and
I survived that, and we didn't know what it was

(13:07):
for a while. For about six months, we were in
that process of trying to get a diagnosis because these
paralytic episodes kept happening after that first time, and long
story short, we got a diagnosis finally of a rare,
rare disease called hypocoalmic periodic paralysis. And that's actually what happens,

(13:33):
where my body will randomly go into paralysis and my
potassium levels will drop.

Speaker 9 (13:40):
So that was you know, that was the journey.

Speaker 7 (13:44):
Ash And you were here with us in Costa Rica
and we were going on hikes and all of that,
and you said you were paralyzed. I said, this is
a wonderful story to encourage people to see what they
can do. You know, So how did you heal? Was
it just the medication or did you do reiki as well?

(14:06):
What kind of modalities did you use?

Speaker 8 (14:09):
So it was the combination, I would say, of of
medications in the beginning. But I actually couldn't use the
medications because they gave me kidney stones and this is
a rare condition.

Speaker 9 (14:21):
There's not a lot of research out there.

Speaker 8 (14:23):
For you know, medications either, so I actually resorted to healing. Yeah,
energy healing reiki and Karuna reiki what I've trained in
two thousand and eight. In fact, my mom and I
trained together for both reiki and Karna reiki, and my
you know I group happened to be in town from

(14:46):
India in twenty twenty one, so all of this happened
in twenty twenty and twenty twenty one. A year later,
he came and he came over and he's like, what
are you doing with your life? You need to get
better and you need to heal people, and you need
to start doing this. And that was my like snap
out moment where you know, I was like, yes, I'm

(15:08):
a doctor. I need to practice what I preach and
give that hope. You know, I lived in a tunnel
of hopelessness and that was dark. That was depressing, and
I couldn't get out of bed for almost six months.
I'm a dancer, I couldn't dance, I couldn't do anything.
I couldn't live my life. And there was a switch

(15:30):
that just went on and I healed. I began healing,
and the journey was even more painful because once you
start healing and you start going through all of your past,
all the subconscious patterns and ancestral trauma and all the
traumas combined.

Speaker 9 (15:49):
You know, that was a.

Speaker 8 (15:50):
Very very painful experience in and of itself, and it's
still ongoing. I wouldn't say, you know, I'm completely healed,
but I was told that I might be on a wheelchair,
you know, for the rest of my life.

Speaker 9 (16:01):
I may not be able to dance again the way
I was.

Speaker 8 (16:06):
And now I can come back and say that none
of that is true, or none of that needs to
be true. We can heal ourselves, and we can we
can heal from them possible.

Speaker 7 (16:18):
I just love you.

Speaker 9 (16:20):
I love you too.

Speaker 7 (16:21):
Yes, Matzi, we have to take a quick break, but
when we come back, we will continue.

Speaker 7 (17:33):
Hello and welcome back to the Angel Quest Show. I
have Monsey Verra with us today and we're talking about
how she healed from a very debilitating disease and Moncy,
how did you heal from trauma? I'm sure a lot
of people out there who are listening they're going through trauma.
How can you heal from trauma?

Speaker 8 (17:54):
There are so many ways? I think there's a lot
of ways. I think first the first thing was to
really acknowledge that mind body connection and that trauma, the
physical pain, the physical symptoms that I have can be
rooted in all of these traumas, so to speak. So

(18:17):
my initial approach was just practicing reiki and grona reiki
that involved going in all the you know, the chekra,
the checkra system, the science behind that, and sitting there
and meditating every day for two, three four hours sometimes
and in each chekra and saying affirmations and cutting chords,

(18:42):
cutting chords with the karmic layers.

Speaker 7 (18:44):
With chatra so you got it on each one. Mm hmm.

Speaker 8 (18:49):
That's how I charge myself on a daily basis. That's
also how I you know, once I charge myself is
how I send healing to other people too. So that was,
you know, that was the beginning of my journey. And
I also did a lot of EFT tapping a long
and tapping. It's a great way, you know, to rechannel energy.

(19:12):
Tapping is a very easy way and free way to
do it on your own and open up those meridians
and allow that energy to flow, and also to communicate
with the brain that you are safe, secure, protected, and
you can heal, you can let it go, you can release.
So tapping, yeah, absolutely, tapping, tapping, tapping all the time.

Speaker 9 (19:34):
And you know, it was a neat way to kind of.

Speaker 8 (19:38):
Have a substitute for dancing in some ways because I
couldn't really use my feet. I didn't have the strength
or muscles, and I was walking with the cane. You know,
at this point in time, I couldn't really walk without
a cane without you know, losing my balance or falling.
So tapping was a way to like kind of refocus

(19:59):
my brain. I refocus my energy and start visualizing as well,
visualizing me dancing, visualizing me doing the things.

Speaker 9 (20:07):
That I love.

Speaker 8 (20:08):
And I have to say, a lot of credit, you know,
a lot of or complete credit goes to the healers
that I worked with two they were doing healing for
me as well, so it was a mutual, mutual you know, gift.
I would say that they insisted that I also work
on my own uh, my own self and they'll heal

(20:29):
me as well. And the magic began to unfold. And
the more you know, the more you work on yourself,
and the deeper you go, the more unfold the more
that comes out. And you have these phases where things
are absolutely crazy, so much trauma comes up to the surface,
and now you have these tools to release and breathe.

(20:50):
A lot of a lot of trauma release that I
worked on also involved breathwork, so to move through access
the traumas in the first place, because.

Speaker 9 (21:00):
Sometimes it's you know, we're in a.

Speaker 8 (21:02):
State of fight flight or freeze and we can't even
acknowledge or access the traumas that we've been through. But
breath work is a really powerful way to go deeper
into that state and start seeing and visualizing and heal
and breathing out, breathe, exhaling out all of that stuck

(21:22):
energy and stuck memory.

Speaker 7 (21:24):
So so yeah, it's amazing. We're going to definitely talk
about breath work. But before we do, I was thinking,
you know, you and I know what tapping is, and
most of my clients do. But those who are listening
who don't know what tapping is, can you explain what
it is. It's not tap dancing.

Speaker 9 (21:41):
It's not tap dancing now, right, that's what they're thinking.

Speaker 7 (21:43):
I bet so.

Speaker 8 (21:45):
Tapping it's also called emotional freedom technique.

Speaker 9 (21:49):
It is basically a way.

Speaker 8 (21:52):
To rewire the brain and also reprogram energy. So there
are nine main points that we tap through, starting from
the side of the hand, and you know it's it's
along the face, our collar bones, under the arms, and
top of the head. And we're we're basically working on
one thing at a time. So we start with some

(22:15):
type of quote unquote negative energy or negative thing that
we want to work through, for example, having trouble with
letting go, and so you start with statements like, even
though I have trouble letting go, I am honoring myself anyway,
even though I feel like all this energy is stuck

(22:38):
in my body and I hate it and I can't
let it go, and it's making me angry.

Speaker 9 (22:43):
It's making me sad.

Speaker 8 (22:44):
I choose to honor myself and love myself through the process,
and then we start, you know, actually verbalizing all of
these these energies that are stuck, so tapping through the points.
You know, I feel stuck, I feel depressed, I feel angry.
I can't get through it, and no one's there to

(23:05):
help me. I feel like I can't be supported. And
we go through whatever is going through your head, whatever
you're feeling in those moments, and then we shift from
you know, these types of statements to our right now,
how can we release, how can we move through that?

(23:26):
And how can we shift our energy reprogram our brain
to tell us yeah we can, And you know, using
statements like I am able to work through the stuck energy,
I am getting the tools that I need. I am
focusing on myself, I am loving myself, I am giving
myself grace as I work through these issues. I'm allowing

(23:48):
myself to journal every day and whatever it is that
you want to kind of manifest or affirm in. These
are the statements that we now say through the points
and that's that's kind of how tapping works.

Speaker 7 (24:02):
So what you're basically doing is you're getting rid of
what you don't want in order to create what you
do want, so you're affirming it afterwards. First you have
to get rid of it, acknowledge what you don't want,
you tap on the acupuncture points. What I have found
is with my own clients is if they don't feel
the emotion as they're saying, it doesn't work, they have right.
They have to feel it and really mean it. So

(24:23):
if they really want to get rid of something, they're
bringing up the emotion so that when they tap on
those points, they're tapping out that energy. If they're not
bringing up that energy, it doesn't work. So I say
I get a box of dishes out and they either
they curse, they cry at whatever it is. I know, okay,
this is working now, and afterwards then they affirm what

(24:43):
they do want instead. And that's exactly what you're doing
as well. What you do yes, okay, awesome. And I
have a story about in my book Your Life After
Their Death about tapping. There's a whole chapter on it
with grief people who come to se they've been to
therapy many years, and I'm not against therapy. I love it,

(25:04):
but they said sometimes it didn't work. So what we
did was we did the tapping, and they said what
one session did and tapping did what twenty years of
therapy didn't even come close to. Because you're working with
the energy right, you're.

Speaker 8 (25:17):
Working exactly, and you're doing something about it. Therapy is
so important and it's so powerful, but talking about it
is not enough. You have to start acting on it
and release exactly. So if you don't do that, it's
still stuck somewhere in the body, maybe a different part
of the body, but it's still there. We have to,

(25:38):
like you said so rightfully, we have to start doing
something acting on it to move that energy out.

Speaker 7 (25:45):
Where mind, body, spirit. We're not just the body, or
we're not just the mind. We're energy and you have
to move the energy for it to really work. So
it really it creates. It's miraculous I've had and I
take no credit for it. Everybody do this, not just
Karen Noi or Monsey. If those who are listening can
do this as well, they learn how to do this,

(26:06):
or go to a person who does tapping with them.
It really really does work. Someone there was a woman
named Sue who had stage three multiple maloma. They said,
you know, you'll never be healed. Long story short. We
worked through forgiveness and forgiveness and all that. She couldn't
open her hands and they completely open. Now he completely healed.
Twenty years later. There's another woman stage four lung cancer.

(26:30):
You know, she went traditionally. And again I'm not saying
traditional medicine is wrong. I'm just saying sometimes they leave
out the energy part and the trauma and all of that.
I work through that. She's completely healed twenty five years later,
and so forth. So this stuff, this SAH stuff really works.
I don't want to say it on the air, but
you know, what I'm talking about really does work. Now,

(26:53):
I would love to talk about breath work. I went
to I did a re treat last year at in
Kostrig and I'm going to do it again in February.
And we've incorporated holotropic breath work. Oh my gosh, it's amazing.
Can you talk about the type of breath work that

(27:13):
you do?

Speaker 9 (27:15):
Yeah? So do I do more gentle breath work? You know?

Speaker 8 (27:20):
More Prian I m type yoga body breath work is
what I'm trained in and that's that's the subtle. But
when I say subtle, it really is powerful. Powerful shifts
just in just the way our breath breathing works. And
believe it or not, many of us breathe absolutely incorrectly,
you know, even the inhale and exhale. When we inhale,

(27:42):
our our stomach should move out and when we exhale,
our stomach should move in. And it's completely the opposite
sometimes in many folks. And it's likely driven by the
anxious society and all the stress and tension that we're
you know, expectations that we have to meet, and that's

(28:02):
why we're constantly breathing very shallow. Our breath breathing is off.
So my breath work classes are about retraining and reprogramming
that aspect too, and also understanding the science of breathwork
and why breathing is important and how it's linked directly
to our nervous system and the way the vagus nerve

(28:23):
travels from the brain all the.

Speaker 9 (28:25):
Way to our gut.

Speaker 8 (28:26):
And you know that a lot of times we talk
about the gut brain connection, and this is a really
powerful way to explain it because the vegus nerve, you
know starts in our brain and travels through our esophagus,
our throat, our heart, and ultimately to our uh intestine.
So what we do with breath work, relaxation and deep

(28:48):
breathing and longer exhales profoundly impacts things like digestion and
bowel movements and anxiety. It's all interconnected, and that gut
brain access comes really important in the science of breath
work and explaining that. And yeah, breath work especially, you know,
I use it when I do one to one energy

(29:09):
healing sessions because that's when I like to access the
trauma and the holotropic breathing really helps you go in
and deep and deep and access what we want to access. So,
whether it's in our child wounds or it's traumas from
any any part of life, relationships, pain, things that we

(29:30):
can't let go, we can use that to channel in
and then and really release it.

Speaker 7 (29:39):
Yes, and I would love for you to teach a
class on breath work at my center. I don't want
to put you on the spot, but I would love
for you to do that. If you're willing.

Speaker 8 (29:48):
Love to come, it would be my honor to come
and yet teach a breath class.

Speaker 7 (29:54):
We will connect about that, so we have to take
another quick break, but we'll be I back and I
have with us today doctor Monsey Vira, and we will
continue in a minute.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Hudson River Radio dot com.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
Hudson River Radio dot com, Hudson Riverradio dot com.

Speaker 7 (30:31):
Hello and welcome back to the Angel Quest Show. We
were talking about breath work and I was asking if
you would like to teach a class at the center,
so that would be amazing. We'll talk about that as well.
And also during the break, we were talking about are
we ever completely healed? Not really? And what did you

(30:51):
say about that?

Speaker 8 (30:53):
Yeah, I, you know, I'm not healed completely as much
as I would love to be. But also I have
a different view on that because if we are completely healed,
we wouldn't have anything to work on. So I, you know,
allowing myself to continually work on something to grow and
heal and grow and heal is a beautiful process, and I,

(31:18):
you know, I wouldn't trade that for anything, even though
it's hard. But if we if we are completely healed,
we have nothing to work on.

Speaker 7 (31:26):
Exactly beautifully said, what do you do daily to work
on yourself?

Speaker 9 (31:32):
Yeah, that's a great question.

Speaker 8 (31:35):
So it starts with you know, I start with gratitude.
That's something that my mom instilled in me when maybe
I was like three, and we would do a little
prayer of gratitude for like you know, the sun coming out,
us waking up, and so that's.

Speaker 9 (31:54):
My you know, morning prayer.

Speaker 8 (31:56):
And then I go into my own healing, charging myself
the trucker and creating that like divine love and light
and then sending that to the world, to my loved ones,
and that would be the morning part.

Speaker 9 (32:13):
And then I you know, I have a couple of.

Speaker 8 (32:15):
Prayers that I say as well in our Indian culture,
and I have various energy healing techniques that I use
throughout the day. So one of them is like a
fire ceremony of like literally releasing taking things physically or
you know, stored energy and I dump it into the fire.

(32:36):
It's actually Mounikey Rights. I learned it from one of
my healers as well. It's a South American traditional healing
ceremony called punake rice. So I do that and then
I if I have time in the day, I'll do
additional healing for other people as well. But yeah, just
I think where I am right now, is just a

(32:59):
lot of gradude gratitude for the small and big things.
And that's become part of how I heal myself too,
because we think when we go through something it's like
life or death, and it could be. In my case,
it really was. But there's also you know, people go
through so many things in life and just you know

(33:20):
now being a doctor and practicing, and I see that
there's so much that people go through, and when we
are okay, or when when we have things that are
working and are on track, those are moments to feel
very grateful and surrender, surrender to the greater, the greater energy,
the higher powers, and just allow yourself to be in

(33:43):
those moments because everyone doesn't have that, and so I
think that's a big part of how I have I
keep hope for myself and how I try to spread
that hope to others as well.

Speaker 7 (33:57):
It's beautiful, I am. I'm writing my next book about
manifesting in a higher level of consciousness, but in doing so,
we have a lot of stories with my clients and
myself as well. But I was reading Ronda Burns book Magic,
and she talks about an amazing gratitude exercise which I
have done. You start off in the morning and you

(34:17):
talk about ten things that you think about, ten things
you're grateful for first thing in the morning. And according
to her, and according to if you read anything on
the internet, twenty eight days creates a habit. So if
you do this for twenty eight days, it creates a
new habit. So you think about ten things that you're
grateful for, and then the next day, but it can't

(34:37):
be the same ten things. You continue this for twenty
eight days, and in the beginning it's great, you know,
you're grateful for this people in your life. But after
the fourth and fifth day, you're really looking for you know,
I'm grateful that I'm able to see. I'm grateful that
I'm able to walk, I'm grateful for the air. Hey,
I was even grateful for the bathroom, Matt, because I

(35:00):
was looking for things. You get on a whole new
way of looking at things, and you do create a
new habit. See, you're grateful for everything. And then she
goes on to say that at the end of the day,
you look back on each day and what was the
best thing that happened that particular day, And you know,
some days there's so many things and other days I

(35:20):
have to tell you some things, I'm like, oh, I
don't know if there was anything I'm grateful for. But
of course you always find something, you know. At one
point I had my dog who was sleeping next to
me and it felt so good. So there's always something.
So you're waking up feeling grateful, going to sleep feeling grateful,
and you shift in consciousness. You're just looking for things
to be grateful for. Right. It's a great way of

(35:41):
going beautiful.

Speaker 9 (35:43):
And I love I love that. Thank you for sharing that.

Speaker 7 (35:46):
Yeah, And it's it really does change. And when I
find myself, you know, when I go for my walk
with my dog this morning, now I focus on what
I'm grateful for in that present moment, because that's different too.
I'm always the future the past. It's right at this moment,
I'm grateful for those beautiful flowers and then I'm able
to walk and the breeze and and that's another way

(36:09):
of looking. That's another thing we do. I think we
look too much for the at the past or the future.
What do you say about that? Yeah, I mean you you.

Speaker 9 (36:18):
You you nailed it.

Speaker 8 (36:19):
That's so true and and it's so important to come
back to the present, because it's it's hard, that's the
hardest thing to do. And and when you when you
can do that, it's it really is just magical. You're
you almost feel like you know, you've baptized with new
energy and and your whole perspective on life shifts completely

(36:45):
and you have new energy, new a new aura around you,
and and you attract even more because that you know
a little whatever you are thinking is what you're going
to be attracting. So if you're always in that higher
consciousness state instead of feeling anxious and instead of feeling fearful,
those are low energy states, and that's what you're going

(37:07):
to constantly attract if you're thinking and scared all the
time and all the time. So it's it's such a
powerful way to really maintain that high consciousness state. And
awareness and gratitude is the top. It's one of the top.

Speaker 7 (37:24):
And what you were talking about for those who you know,
follow the secret or something the law of attraction. Whatever
we're thinking and feeling, we're creating. So in order to
create better things in our lives, better health, and we
have to think on higher feel a higher level of consciousness,
be more on par with the energy of who we
really are, which is God within us. And when we

(37:49):
we what do you When we're living in that level
of consciousness, we create in a higher level. If that
makes sense. Let's move on. What advice would you give
someone facing a difficult health time diagnosis today?

Speaker 8 (38:03):
So I would say a couple of things. First, you know,
first I would like to just give them hope, because
I think traditional medicine can be very harsh and not
understanding of the emotional and spiritual trauma that comes with

(38:24):
a diagnosis, with a difficult diagnosis, and they have to
do their part, so you know, they're not necessarily wrong
in communicating the severity of something. But here we are
as healers and as functional and naturopathic doctors to give
that hope that hey, you have this diagnosis, but that
doesn't mean it's the end all be all, And that's

(38:46):
the first thing. And the second thing. You know, what
I say to patients or I ask them, is how
ready are you to believe in yourself? How ready are
you to make changes that may not be conventional and
really look deeper. And you know, sometimes people aren't. They're

(39:10):
stuck in that state, and that's okay. Too, But for me,
it's really using the power of energy healing and energy
medicine to get them out of that state in the
first place too. So when I you know, what I
like to do is offer that as a treatment modality
to get them into a different state of being of wellness,

(39:35):
and then do the naturopathic suggestions or recommendations or the
medicine to see if that, you know, is a better
route for them.

Speaker 9 (39:47):
So that's my typical approach.

Speaker 7 (39:50):
It's beautiful. What are some of the common limiting beliefs
that you help your patients and friends and family release.

Speaker 8 (40:01):
Yeah, I think for first and foremost is that I
can't get better, I will never heal. Those are I
would say the top uh limiting beliefs. Also that I
am stuck in this forever.

Speaker 9 (40:16):
I am not.

Speaker 8 (40:17):
Deserving of feeling better. A lot of times that's what
I you know, like that I'm a burden. Those are
things that I've kind of experienced myself and I feel myself. So,
you know, I I feel like if I'm feeling that,
then perhaps other people with these diagnoses also feel that way.
That you know, I'm too much, I'm a burden to

(40:40):
my friends, my family, I'm asking for too much.

Speaker 9 (40:44):
So those are the limiting.

Speaker 8 (40:45):
Beliefs I see a lot of and and help to
work through that. You know, there's hope and and you're
not you know this is this was divine destiny. And
what lesson can you learn for yourself with this situation?

(41:06):
And now how can we turn it around? How can
we change? How can we heal from it? And how
can you help other people too? Write it's a ripple effect.
So once you heal and you change and change your
energy and everything about that situation? Now, how can you
go and take this and spread it?

Speaker 9 (41:26):
Spread the love?

Speaker 7 (41:27):
Beautiful? How do your programs combine ancient wisdom and modern
methodologies to create less thing transformation?

Speaker 8 (41:37):
Yeah, that's it's a beautiful part of naturopathic medicine. So
I feel so privileged to be able to incorporate, you know,
irbabic medicine. Things that my grandma used to say to me,
and we learn the science of it in medical school,
you know, like why turmeric is a powerful and anti
inflammatory agent, why castor oil can help with liver inflammation

(41:59):
and GI issues. Things like that, and water therapy, hydro therapy,
the manipulation of hot and cold water, whether it's steam,
it's bats, it's neutral bats, epsence, all bats, and how
powerful they are in not just shifting our you know,
the way that we perceive pain and inflammation in the body,

(42:22):
but also how can we relax our nervous system with
that shift in hot and cold. You know, cold plunges
are very common these days, and ir saunas are also,
But what's the science behind it? And the science is
that change in hot and cold and how we manipulate
it and what it's doing to our nervous system and
helping us reset and not be stuck in that fight

(42:45):
flight go go go mode and shift to the parasympathetic mode.
So all of these are ancient practices. You know, people
have been using it for thousands of years, you know,
the Chinese medicine as well, the herbs and combining it
with the science and also sometimes the use of technology
to make it accessible and usable on a daily basis.

(43:06):
For example, there is a machine called the Gasa machine.
It's like copper.

Speaker 9 (43:13):
And my grandma, my mom, whenever I.

Speaker 8 (43:15):
Would get fevers or like have a lot of heat
in the body, they would take gee that's like clarified
butter rub it on the bottom of my feet and
rub that copper bowl really fast and really hard until
it starts turning black to remove all that heat and toxins.
And now there are machines that you could do that,

(43:38):
you know, without that effort of like literally rubbing it hard.
And yeah, there's so I think that's the beauty that
I'm seeing a lot of the ancient tools and processes
now coming and combined with the scientific and technological advances
and really still bringing that benefit, profound benefit health and wellness.

Speaker 7 (44:01):

book yet?

use creativity I think through writing. So it is definitely
something I've been wanting to do. And now Karen, you
