(00:19):
Welcome to the Anti Fraud Network.I'm your host, Brad Adams, executive
director of Anti Fraud Team for theIlluminati. In earlier show files, I've
given laws on harassment and plagarism. This week, steps have been taken to
squalsh threats. Threats are used formultiple reasons. Several are for intimidation,

(00:41):
in order to gain control or scareor extortion, and just to plaan hurt
people. These come in several formsand are for specific reasons. First,
threats come when a person or persons, even companies and fakes are shown to
be nefarious or criminal in nature. They are used to try to get others

(01:07):
to pull or stop comments or evenchange your stories. Most of you will
relate to this to jury or witnesstampering, but this isn't what it's used
for on social media. There aredifferent ways These can be perpetrated online in

(01:29):
comments, in private messages to hurtsomeone's reputation, and in one recent action,
a phone call now online can beheld as the same as if personal
contact has been made with a person. If a person is in the same
state as the victim, most statesconsider that a misdemeanor. However, depending

(01:57):
on the circumstances can be tried asa felony. Now going across state lines
is considered a felony. Anti fraudtakes these very seriously. Granted, many
will never be enforced. They areused as extortion only. However, there

(02:17):
are several that have been escalated frommaking comments to actually making phone calls.
One in particular, which I willnot be mentioning names due to the fact
that is ongoing, charges have beenfiled. Remember, these tactics are used
for several reasons, to gain accessto profiles, to steal money, and

(02:42):
to hurt reputations. It does notmatter what area they happen in. They
have been seen for online jobs, actual places of employment, scams, and
others who have been caught but aretrying to hide their various actions. I

(03:02):
quote Franklin D. Roosevelt in hisinaugural address in nineteen thirty three. Let
me assert my firm belief that theonly thing we have to fear is fear
itself, nameless, unreasoning, unjustifiedterror, in which paralyzes the need needed

(03:23):
efforts to convert retreat into advance.Remember we're always watching. Tune in next
time, and thank you for listeningto the anti fraud network
