arm HEARE Gm Sports. Network So, christian this one through
(02:24):
two periods looked like we were going to come on
here and have a pretty good talk about how The
Ice dogs were able to take down a team that
they had lost to in the first round of the
playoffs last Year Central division foe and The Berry. Colts
he knew the game wasn't going to be. Easy we
said a lot of chippy stuff after every. Whistle after the,
periods there was a lot of stuff going on and
The Ice dogs had a pretty big, lead and in
(02:46):
the third period The Barry colts showed why there's still
a team that is to be reckoned with here in
The Eastern.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Conference absolutely still a team to be reckoned. With they
showed it here. Tonight to your, points they finally find
themselves above five hundred and three and two oh and
to their. Record bury a team that's found themselves in
overtime and in a shootout almost consistently so far.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
This, season and they're pretty good at.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
It they showed up very strongly in the, overtime actually
had a goal called back in, overtime.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
But we'll get into that.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Stuff just an entertaining afternoon hockey here at The Britian.
CENTER i thought both teams had strong displays at certain,
times but For, niagara just a tough way to go
here on home ice following what was not exactly a
successful week in Their Sarnia windsor road. TRIP i think
there's a lot of negatives more so than there were
(03:37):
positives this week in The Niagra Ice dogs. Shot learning
a lot of learning lessons for, sure AND i Think
Chris bartch kind of talked about that in his interview
that we'll get to later in the. Show but for,
me just a tough way to go here On home.
ICE i think a great first and second. PERIOD i
thought the start from The Ice dogs was maybe a little.
(03:57):
Flat they're a little bit stung or bitten from whatever
leech got them in the third period In.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
Sarnia they were literally stung by.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
The sarnia syya is staying in that third, period they
seem to really just fall, apart AND i think they
carried some of that energy into the first period here this.
Afternoon then they started to pick it. Up the second
period was a little, stronger and then the third that
bug came right back around the corner and we really
saw what can happen when The Ice dog's team really
(04:26):
goes off the. Rails but one way or, another that
is the, score that is the. Reality The Ice dogs
fall to one and two on the, week and all
we can do is move, On, yeah next, week and
that's all you can. DO i Guess cole watch The Blue,
Jays that's ALL i.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Know if you're listening to this On, MONDAY i feel
for you if you're in The yankees boat LIKE i.
Am but.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
Hilarious we're on the way back up to record this
podcast and somebody's passing us in the events level as
we're walking back up and this, guy he looks At brandon, Goes,
brandon you want to know what the score?
Speaker 4 (05:01):
Is AND i told, him don't do. It.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Don't we're going and record the post. Game you're gonna
ruin His you're gonna ruin. His this mentality is. Attitude i'm.
Dying we're sure enough as of as of right, now who,
knows Maybe toronto scored another three.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
Runs seems like they're scoring At.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Well we're not gonna do Another New york. Page it's
worse than what it. Was so let's continue on here
with the Geez yeah no more baseball talk is now
banned for the rest of the. Year, anyways this is
my last, podcast so, Yes i'm gonna need a new
co host after from just. Said so we'll get things
going with our game stats. Tonight brought to you by Janeol.
Flooring if you can get a better deal anywhere else
you don't Know, jack contact them At janoflooring dot com
(05:42):
or visit The Nagra falls location and begin your quality
flooring project, Today, christian the shots on net we're deceiving
because The Ice dogs actually let in this category for
most of the. Game through two periods they were up
twenty seven to, eighteen and then the third period in
overtime it was a role reversal of twenty four to
six total and in total for the whole game forty
(06:04):
two to thirty three for The Barry. Colts what did
you see from the shots on THAT.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
I don't know if it was entirely you, know confusing or.
Misleading you look at the first, period the shots were
thirteen to ten For, niagara not exactly a huge, lead
and they did have a power. Play they had opportunities
in that first, period and they still barely outshot a
team that was not overly strong in that first. PERIOD
(06:29):
i didn't Think barry had a strong start to this.
Game then you look at the second, period fourteen to
eight were the. Shots niagre again had a power, play
they had a long power. Play after that skirmish at
the end of the first there was all this, uncertainty you,
know who's getting. Penalties eliason had the five minute match,
penalty So nigra goes to the power play for a
quarter of the period and still managed to only outshoot
(06:51):
The Barry colts by. Six and, then of course the third,
period here we go right back To sarnia And. WINDSOR
i feel like it's the same story repeating. Itself out
shot nineteen to four in the third, period and overtime
the shots again similar six to. Two they were out
shot when it really. Mattered that's for me WHAT i
keep coming back. To In sarnia in the third, period
(07:12):
it happened in a very similar.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
Way they did not show up when they had.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
To they got outworked and dominated when they had to
show up to win a hockey. Game they still managed
to get out Of sarnia with a. Win but you
can't do that against teams Like. Barry you can't do
that against teams Like. Winsor not to Say sarnia isn't
a good team by any, stretch But barry And windsor
have some very talented. Players you'd Give Kayshawn ahison chances to,
(07:38):
Score he's gonna do just, That and that's exactly what
happened in this third. Period niagra Gave barry every opportunity
to get back into this. Game they did just, that
and the shots are not the whole, story but they're
absolutely a big part of.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
IT i just checked the baseball score and that was
a really bad. Idea but why did you do?
Speaker 4 (07:55):
That DID i love? Nothing Blue? Jays we go? Again
you've done one was bad and.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
It's trying to dial back into this post stage show right?
Speaker 4 (08:04):
Now what inning is?
Speaker 1 (08:05):
It there's, Time, yeah there's. Time time all, right going
back to what we were talking, about Because i'm not
even gonna look acknowledged baseball. Anymore outshot seventy four to
thirty two in the two games up In sarney And
winter and that was obviously a point of emphasis because
they came out and we talked about it sort of
while we were up. Here through two periods you were
you were, saying it's nice to be outshooting a, team
(08:26):
and then obviously things changed. Itselves, yeah but it was
just again like the third, period as you mentioned In,
sarni it was sort of a microcosm of what we saw,
today right like just and, again The Barry COLTS i
think are a better team than The sarnia's. Thing so
LIKE i don't want to take anything away From. Barry
obviously they've got some top end, players and we'll get
into all the scoring summary and everything like, that but
if you're The Ice, dogs you've got to be ready
(08:46):
for that type of push in the third. Period and
we talked about that as as far as when they
came out of the second, intermission team we were going to.
Speaker 4 (08:51):
See that's exactly WHAT i said to.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
YOU i THINK i remember very clearly turning to my
left and, Saying, brandon this game's not.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
Over, yeah there is no way this game is.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
Over after the physicality that was displayed over across the
first two periods and WHAT i was seeing From, BARRY
i thought they had a lot more left in the.
TANK i was one hundred percent positive That Kashan aherson
stood up in that locker room in between the second
and third and got those boys fired. Up what happened
in The Niagara Ice dog's locker, ROOM i guarantee you
it didn't look anything like The Barry colts locker room
(09:21):
because they came out at the start of that third
period and we're just not. Ready they weren't. Ready it's
about being ready for the big. Moments that's what makes
great teams. Excellent great teams can become good or satisfactory
or mediocre because they don't show up with the right.
Mentality hockey's a blend of, both, Right it's physical, ability
(09:42):
it's skill, sets it's game, planning it's. Strategy it's, yes
that that's. Important you, know there's all these other. Factors
but at the end of the, day you have to
be ready to implement the skill that you.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
Have you have to be ready to implement the strategy
that you.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
Have none of that stuff matters if you're not ready
to play your brand of. Hockey AND i think The
Ice dogs got a little bit ahead of themselves in
that second.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
Intermission they just they didn't come back.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Ready, yeah AND i mean you can say, that, yeah
it was a three game, week But barry played last.
Night nigri. Didn't, sorry he played games this week. Too
you can't use those as. Excuses and nobody in that
room's gonna say anything of that. Sort but that's sort
of you, know when you look at what the team's schedules.
Were continuing on here quickly with the game Sets, christian
both teams won for two in the power play face,
offs thirty two to twenty seven in favor of The
(10:28):
colts as. Well, obviously the power play is something that
The Ice dogs have wanted to work on. It it
was at ten percent coming into this. Game they did
get one on the board At Ryan robricks goal, later
and Obviously barry also connected on. One that was a
big momentum, shift which we'll get into in the scoring.
Summary but what did you see on the power play
and then obviously giving up a shorthanded goal in a
(10:51):
five minute as, well not too?
Speaker 3 (10:52):
Great, YEAH i didn't like that power play at the
start of the second period or was it the third?
Period might be confused. Here let me just quickly double
check which one the power play at the start of the.
Second so there's actually a power play at the start
of both at the second and the.
Speaker 4 (11:10):
Third that's Why i'm. Confused there you. GO i knew
it wasn't.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
Wrong, anyways that power play at the beginning of the
second period was. Awful you couldn't have asked the team
to try worse to score like it didn't. Work the line,
COMBINATIONS i think are very much still in the. Air
we've seen it over the last. Week the top six keeps.
(11:35):
CHANGING i think it's a chemistry thing for, Me these
guys don't know what each other's tendencies are because they
haven't been given enough time to develop that. Understanding it's
been a week for this. Lineup it's been a week
for this, lineup and not even because that lineup has.
Changed it's ever. Changing the top six And windsor was
totally different than it was In, sarnia and then they
(11:56):
kept the same top six. Tonight actually the top line
was the same as it, was aren't. You but it keeps,
changing it keeps, moving AND i think that one is
going to contribute to the power. PLAY i Think Chris
bartch touches on it as. Well there's also a need
to have a number one defenseman at the, back really
quarterbacking their power. Play you look at with What Kayshawn
ahison does for The Barry, colts you, know top unit
(12:19):
on that man. Advantage he one percent gives them confidence back.
There they're more than willing to put three or four
guys below the hash marks because they know they Got
ahison back. There he's one hundred percent backing up what
they're doing in front of, him AND i think The
Ice dogs are maybe missing that.
Speaker 4 (12:36):
Guy there's some characters in the.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
Mix you, know you got Fro, love you Got Plake,
barnes who played his first game here, tonight had an
opportunity to see him in the three on, three see
him on the power, play saw what he could do
from a puck moving. Perspective BUT i think the power
play is gonna round, Out it's gonna come. Around it's
just gonna be all about. Personnel let's get these guys
comfortable with them and with each other and, understand you,
(13:02):
know who's gonna be in what. Spots like last, Year
Ryan robrick was at the point the whole. Time now
you got a totally different.
Speaker 4 (13:10):
Unit.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
Ryerson edgar has been lining up at the point sometimes
and you Got edgar And, soda and then you Got
edgar And, roebrick and then you got he And, patterson
and then sometimes all three of.
Speaker 4 (13:21):
Those guys come out. Together so it's JUST i.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
Think for, me the power plays not as big of a. Concern,
yes it sucks you went zero for nine coming into
tonight this. Week those are some goals that probably would
have helped in windsor probably would have Helped. Insarnia BUT
i think the Power play's gonna come it's gonna come with.
Time it's nice to get one here, tonight but for,
me a power play is really not a point of
(13:43):
concern after. TONIGHT i think what's more important is how
they're getting how they're getting to those power, Plays like
it seems as if the power plays are being earned
in ways that are you, Know i'm kind of going
off on a tangent, here and we'll have to come,
back BUT i like the way they're earning the power,
(14:05):
plays just for, me right off my head before we
kind of backtrack. AGAIN i, think you, Know Ethan, zada for,
example played a game tonight where he's willing to go
into those difficult, areas AND i think The Ice dogs
are doing a good job of gaining those power play.
Opportunities they're just not capitalizing on. Them BUT i do
like What i'm seeing in that. Regard to have what was,
(14:28):
it eleven power play opportunities across three games means you're
doing the right. Things you're going out there and you're
putting yourself in positions to be infracted, upon AND i
think The Ice dogs are doing a good job of
that as. Well sorry to kind of go off the
rails a little, bit, There BUT i for, me the
power play not a huge. Issue it's it really for
(14:48):
me comes down to, personnel.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
And they had five. Forwards he said he might not
try that. Again but and again we didn't really go
over the lineup too. Much again still with O Brady
washlin day to day right, now you, know it's been
a couple of weeks for the. Four did see him
in good spirits after the, game were in a nice,
Suit so he obviously wants to be back in the.
Lineup Andrew wei six day to, day a couple of
bumps and, bruises and he would be probably the guy
that would be the puck mover on the powerplay or
(15:11):
in those three on three, situations most likely him still
being out of the. Lineup Liam spencer was out of
the lineup as well on the defensive. Side and then
a couple of those other guys were just scratches for
the Watcher Cole cooksey healthy, Scratches, Yeah andrew wis than
they were and they, work they were, sorry they were
sort Of they've been rotating the forwards in and out.
(15:32):
There monks also stepped out tonight to Give hage another,
game so they're still trying to work out the combinations
there with the fourteen, forwards so it's something that's ever changing.
There we'll get forward with our scoring summary, tonight brought
to you by The Nagar Employment Health center helping people
find work in niagresses nineteen eighty. Three check out their
day job board AT ehc don DOT c to fight
your next work opportunity. Today not going to go over
(15:53):
every single one of these, Goals, christian even though all
ten of them were pretty. Impactful but let's start off
here with Ethan zada's first two goals on back to back.
Shifts he's able to you, know spring free on the first,
one go go far. Side and then on the second,
one it was a really good play on the turnover
By Kevin he forced turnover By Kevin he behind the.
(16:13):
NET i Think Sean doherty got involved in. THIS i
didn't exactly, see but he got the assist on the
play as, well And Ethan zoda takes a quick snapshot
to fire at past to. Rebis So ethanzada scores two
goals in less than a minute to get the ice
douged to.
Speaker 6 (16:26):
Nothing.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
Lead, yeah great work from that unit as a. WHOLE
i think prior to those. Goals there was a lot
happening on the. Ice there was bodies, flying there's, chirping there's,
tweets there's all of his. Stuff, right it's the ice
was really starting to tilt In barry's. Direction and going
back To ethan's odda, here not just the fact that
(16:48):
he scored that, goal but he did it directly after
a play in which he was being chirped ad he
got pretty much tossed down to the ice here in
the defensive zone in the near side corner where we,
sit so just in front of the one ten section
in the corner of the meridian center, here and he
was almost entirely overwhelmed By Barry colts defenseman who was
(17:13):
all over him and in his. Face AND i like
the response From. Zada it was almost, like, yeah you're
gonna chirt.
Speaker 4 (17:20):
Me watch.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
This he goes, out he gets that goal an incredible individual.
Effort he's able to put himself in the right. Spots
and for, me this Is Ethan zada's brilliance is his positional.
Play he puts themselves in those positions to be really.
Successful and on that, break it would have been easy
for him to grab that puck at the blue line
and take a direct approach in On. Herebic, instead he
(17:45):
kind of veered off to the right a little, bit
he opened up the low blocker and then he placed
it there with pinpoint. Precision so for, me there's a
couple of things on that play and then the follow
up goal inside a, Minute you're absolutely. Right Sean doherty
was most definitely, involved and that one he whipped an
incredible pass from that far side hash mark at the
(18:05):
drop of a. Hat he didn't even think about. It
that's the Chemistry i'm talking. About and it comes on a,
line mind, you with ice dogs that were here last,
year and that's the kind of stuff we're gonna see
as we get deeper into the. Season these guys start
to get comfortable with another they're gonna start snapping passes.
Around but great Work kevin he on the ford, check
forces the turnover and with no, Hesitation Sean doherty right
(18:29):
to the back door And Ethan zoda taps that one.
Home so a couple of goals that came at the
right time For. NIAGARA i felt like there was a
little bit of a push From barry at the start
of this, Game SO i think it's great For Ethan
zoda personally to get two, goals great for the team
to get a boost when they needed. TO i think
that first, period if those two goals don't get scored
(18:52):
in the timely manner that they, did could have gone
a totally different. Direction barry was really starting to build,
momentum SO i think they were great goals in that moment.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
And good to See kevin he come. Back he did
get a little nicked up and was on the bench
being attended to By David, pandolfi the athletic, therapist but
he was able to remain in the game and was
a big impact on tonight's game as well as the.
Captain barry scores that short handed goal at the beginning
of the second period on The Gable liason five minute
major that happened at the end of the first. PERIOD
i mentioned a lot of scrums and a lot of
(19:21):
stuff after the, whistles even after the, periods and not
the way you want to start a period on a
five minute power. Play so The colts get on the
board there. Too ONE i don't know if you have
any quick thoughts on that, goal.
Speaker 4 (19:33):
The defense on the power, play that's my only.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
Thought we talked about it a little bit, briefly so
no need to go back down that rabbit. Hole but
what happened was our defenseman at the blue line was
caught flat footed and all of a, Sudden barry has
a clear lane to the.
Speaker 4 (19:49):
Goal AND i think it Was, Schneid, yeah who buried that.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
One he had a good game.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
Tonight he had a great.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
Game he was, impressive, fast great, Speed AND i think
he's the kind of, guy you, know we saw him
in the. Overtime, well he's the kind of guy that
just knows how to. Score saw him in the. Shootout
he didn't, score but we saw him in the. Shootout
he knows how to score on. Breakaways he made a
very very nice move to the backhand slipped one five.
Speaker 4 (20:10):
Hole BUT i think for me that was the.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
Only note on that goal was just understanding what position
you're supposed to be in and at what. Time AND
i think the defenseman on that play there was a
lapse of judgment understanding how fast this guy's coming at,
me how? Fast MAYBE i have to, backtrap and instead of,
backtracking the opposite decision was made to stand at the blue,
(20:34):
line and it totally killed any chance of holding the
line on that play and potentially catching up To Sneid
schneid who was barreling in basically, unchecked, Right SO i
think that that would be my only note besides that
it's an unfortunate. BOUNCE i, mean the puck ends up
there off a weird redirection off the, glass so there's
(20:55):
not a whole lot you can do about, it but
just you, know to head Coach Chris barch's point and
to AND i guess you, know to the defensive core
as a, whole still kind of figuring out who's gonna play,
Where AND i think that's where the power played quarterback
really comes in, handy somebody who's gonna make the right
decisions inside of a split second and make sure that
we're not only giving ourselves chances to score on the power,
(21:17):
play but we're not giving up short any.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
Goals And William shneed looked like another Former Barry colt
wearing number. Eleven Ethan cardwell is now up with The
San Jose, shark same type of, player and he's wearing
that number eleven with pride right now with The Barry
colts after big shoes to fill For Ethan cardwell playing
four great season with The Barry. Colts but we'll get
forward with The Ice dog's. Goals here they go, up
they go up five to, one Actually christian because the
(21:43):
unassisted goal By Riley patterson just picked up the loose,
puck fired it over the glove Of Ben, herebik who
they obviously targeted tonight as far as the high glove
because they went there a few. Times and Then Kevin
he with a beautiful play picking up the puck and
the neutral, zone carrying it down the left, wing finds
Ethan zada on the two on. One he may no,
mistake buries it under the bar for the hat. Trick
and then well we'll start with those two goals to
(22:05):
go up four to one at the end of the second,
period and those are two big. Goals obviously he's out
of with the hat, trick but a really good setup
By Captain Kevin he as well And patterson getting them
that third.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
Goal for, me it's the resiliency they give up that
short handed goal and then what what are you gonna do?
NEXT a lot of teams could fold in a situation like.
That The Ice dogs didn't on that fourth, goal OR
i should say the third goal for The Niger Ice.
Dogs it Was Ryerson edgar on the ford check actually
that created that.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
Opportunity he made a nice little move.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
In the, corner dumped the puck back down. LOW a
lot of young guys can get caught shying away from.
Speaker 4 (22:40):
Contact edgar did the.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
Opposite he actually moved in towards his, defender bounce the
puck off the end, wall keeping that puck low and
in the lower third of the very cold zone where
it eventually redirects out. Front Riley patterson makes an ic
little move through his stick and.
Speaker 4 (22:57):
Then he roofs.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
It maybe a little bit of familiarity there For Riley
patterson knows what to expect from The Barry colts net
minder knows where to put that, one and of course
it's upstairs Where mama hides the. Cookies as he finds
the third on the night for The Niger Ice, dogs
and then The Ethan zoda goal his second of the
night and For kevin he just sorry his. Third that
(23:18):
was the hat trick goal forth and soada For Kevin
HE i think that play really revolves around his. Speed
he was actually able to back off the defender to
the point where he fell the defenseman was he just
wasn't ready for.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
Them picked it up in the neutral, zone ready to
the red.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
Line he wasn't ready for the mock two from The
Winnipeg jets. Prospect he came, flying flying down that far
side and put so much pressure on that defender that
he actually, broke could not stay on his edges, anymore
creates the two on one and then dishes for Ethed,
zada who fires one bar down for his hat trick.
(23:51):
Goal so those two were nice individual shots from those,
players BUT i think they were also created by the
other players on the. Ice edgar with an eye he's
played down, low Gives patterson the opportunity to stay in the,
play and Then kevin he with his, speed opens up
the two on one For ethan's.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
On and then the Ice dogs extend the. Lead early
in the third, Period Ryan roebrick with the power play
goal assisted By, Ryerson edgar And Blake. Barnes just quick
thoughts on This christian because we've got to get to
what happened after. That but, again it was nice to
See Ryan robrick get on the board. Again a little
bit of a slower start for his high expectation as
far as but fucking the. Net but that was a
good momentum booster for obviously a guy that's highly sought
(24:29):
after in THE nhl. Draft, yeah it's great For.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
RUBES i think he needs to continue to do, that
get himself on the, board get himself going To i've
talked about this quite a bit this. Year it's nice
to see him finally jumping, forward you, know scoring.
Speaker 4 (24:42):
One and it was a, beauty.
Speaker 3 (24:44):
A True Ryan robricks snipe top right on the power,
play comes in top of the circle and just wires.
One but for, me another nice play From Ryerson edgar
on this. One he no, hesitation similar to The Sean
doherty assist On zada's goal his second. One it was
a quick pass from one side of the offensive zone
to the, other getting that goalie moving side to, side
(25:06):
and that Gave roebrick the time needed to find.
Speaker 4 (25:10):
That top right.
Speaker 3 (25:11):
Corner so a nice play from the young sixteen year
old here who seems.
Speaker 4 (25:15):
To have it going on home.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
Ice he had a great game, tonight had a great
game in the season, opener AND i liked WHAT i
saw from him on that, play Giving roebrick the opportunity
to snipe that, one and of course.
Speaker 4 (25:26):
For Ryan, robrick a nice way to kind of get
back on the board.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
And then, downhill downhill from here is really the way
that this game. Trended, yeah you take a look for
an answer From. Barry it couldn't have been a worse third.
PERIOD i don't know how something like that, happens because
(25:49):
it almost looked at the end of that second period
Like nigra had figured it.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
Out and then they scored to make it five to
one at the beginning of the, third.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
Right and they started playing a trap style defense of you,
know neutral zone collapse, strategy which we saw.
Speaker 4 (26:03):
In the second.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
Period we saw it again in the, third but it
just wasn't as effective in that second. Period down the,
Stretch barry just really couldn't get through the neutral.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
Zone there were no clean.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
Breakings it was none of, that and it was because
of the Niger Ice dog's neutral zone. Trap and then
in the third it all comes crashing. Down barry answers right.
Back That Ryan robrick goal was not enjoyed for very.
LONG i think they actually scored. Well Rod behood was
still announcing it in the, arena which is never a good.
Speaker 4 (26:30):
Sign don't want to give up a goal.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
While they're announcing your own and Then barry goes to
the power, play and that was the shift for. Me
in the third, Period barry was given that power, play
maybe a questionable. Call we were definitely not too happy
about it up.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
Here after they made it five to two, exactly.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
They already made it five to. Two then they go
to the power, play and then three more. Come Kayshawn
ahison does it twice and then they tie it WITH
i don't.
Speaker 4 (26:55):
Know two minutes to, go what was it a?
Speaker 3 (26:57):
Minute and after sixteen there you go s thirty, two
so three and a, half three and a half minutes
to go and they tie this one. Up so you
gotta Give barry. Credit they showed up in the last ten.
Minutes niagro was winning this game by four goals with
ten minutes left in the third.
Speaker 4 (27:15):
Period barry didn't. Quit gonna give them a lot of
credit for. That that's.
Speaker 3 (27:20):
Resiliency, yeah they did a great, job AND i think
going in, overtime you, know there was even more push From.
Speaker 4 (27:28):
Barry it. Was it was. Tough the momentum.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
Shifted you could see, it you could feel it in
the building and the Ice dogs really started to. CRUMBLE
i think that was the, downfall was that power. Play
they gave up the goal right after the power play.
GOAL i think that Was it was almost like you,
know falling from the, penthouse you, know instead of falling
from the third. Floor they weren't down by. Two, sorry
they weren't up by. Two they were.
Speaker 4 (27:51):
Up by, four and all of a, sudden just those quick,
goals they were.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
Daggers AND i gotta, SAY i, MEAN i DON'T i
don't like to come on here and rip officiating or
anything like, that BUT i, Mean Cobo dwan took four
wax at Vladislavyre malenko and somehow after the whistle and
then The Barry colts ended up with a power. Play
SO i don't know what they came to decision on,
that but to me it looked like In Cobol dwan
didn't even get a penalty on the play with somebody
(28:15):
else in the box for. Them but it was a
questionable sort of sequence, there but again no excuse for
the Ice dogs to let that unravel to and ended
up being a tie. Game and of Course Alex assidori
and showed out to. Him we saw him pregame was
in good spirits in his return To. Niagara obviously spent
three three seasons here And DOUBLE a was always a
nice guy to to content with and a good player
(28:37):
for The Ice dogs as a. Veteran but didn't want
him to have a great game in his return tis
To niagara. Tonight but he did redirect the game tying
goal for The Barry, colts and there was a lot
of jawing back and. Forth ween named his former, teammates
so that's always gonna. Happen he Saw patterson And tiller as.
Well there was so much going on in this, game
as we mentioned coming in that the storylines were not
(28:58):
not few and far between in this. One in, Overtime
barry thought they got the. Winner it was called back
on an off, side so The Barry coles had to
get back onto their. Bench anything of note you want
to mention from the overtime before we get to the.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
SHOOTOUT i think for the, overtime for, me it's Just
barry's ability to find the high danger scoring chances And
niagra just really didn't do.
Speaker 4 (29:20):
That in the overtime.
Speaker 1 (29:21):
Period there was one rush With roebrick and that one
rush and it was.
Speaker 3 (29:25):
Slow there's not a lot of high, speed And barry
does a great job of you, know they they regroup,
well and you saw it in the overtime a couple of,
times or whether it Was agison or Bo.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
Duin Bo dway was on the icy entire, overtime, right
and so Was.
Speaker 4 (29:41):
Agison gardner was out there quite a bit.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
Too and what they do such a great job of
keeping the PUCK i Think niagara at, times and granted
personnel out there. Inexperienced you, know there's a couple of
guys that made appearances in overtime that maybe haven't done it,
yet so there could have been some nerves. Involved BUT
i saw the ice dogs very clearly give the puck
(30:03):
away in overtime multiple, times could have been two or.
Three some of them were even in their own, zone
which is exactly uncalled. For those are the unwritten rules of.
Overtime it's the one thing you don't. Do you don't
give the puck away because puck control is. Everything it
is the end all be. All it's what gives The
(30:26):
Barry colts the opportunity to score in. OVERTIME i, mean,
yeah we got lucky with the off, side BUT i
think Vladyslavir maleaco made some big saves in. OVERTIME i
Think barry could have scored on three other totally separate.
OCCASIONS i didn't like the overtime period at all from
The Ice. Dog there was no, danger, really no. Chances
herabic faced two, shots a.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Couple big defensive plays of the game might have been.
Speaker 4 (30:50):
Over he, did he, Did BUT i don't.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
KNOW i think This Ice dog's team really has to
look at themselves in the mirror and ask, themselves what
kind of hockey do we want to play down the show,
stretch you, know when it really matters in the third,
period in, Overtime what are we gonna?
Speaker 4 (31:05):
Bring what level are we gonna?
Speaker 1 (31:07):
Bring?
Speaker 4 (31:07):
Right Because barry knew exactly what level they were gonna.
Bring that was a clutch.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
Performance they did everything and more to win this hockey
game in the last ten minutes in the overtime.
Speaker 4 (31:17):
Period they did. It in the, shootout of, course they clutched.
Up they did. It niger.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
Didn't The Ice dogs will have to learn from this
one again from the team that they're still trying to
knock off the pedestal of The Central. Division good measuring
stick game for, them even though they probably could have
had this one in the bag multiple. Times we got
to the, Shootout niger's three shooters weren't, successful neither were
the first Two barry. Shooters but Then Brad, gardner with
the game on a, stick is able to bury it
for the winner before we hit the. Break anything from
(31:43):
the shootout.
Speaker 4 (31:45):
Similar as the.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
OVERTIME i, mean my takeaways are pretty much the. Same
Even zona comes in and he tried to go five.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
FLIGHT i saw what he was, doing, LIKE i saw
was an opening, there.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
Maybe a little bit of an.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
Opening BUT i think for, me and then you, know
maybe maybe not a bad shot From. ZADA i think for,
me it's just the overall, feeling you, KNOW i don't
want to rip him or anybody. Else patterson comes in
and shoots one into the. Corner he had the, corner
he had. It oh, yeah the corner was wide. OPEN
i think he was trying to put it through The zamboni.
Speaker 4 (32:20):
DOOR i don't.
Speaker 3 (32:20):
KNOW i, MEAN i think, AGAIN i JUST i don't
like WHAT i see in those, Moments like you could
have come down with, speed, right you could have come
down with.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
Speed they were four for four In, sagona they.
Speaker 4 (32:32):
Were four for four in saganaw and, yeah like, whatever.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
But they were also drinking the water In michigan that
allowed them to have the two games. Sweep so you,
know let me let me get back on the positive train.
HERE i don't want to be a little too, negative
but it's just the way the game finished for. Me
and of, course you, know not scoring in a shootout is.
UNFORTUNATE i do think.
Speaker 4 (32:56):
They had three solid. Moves they just didn't.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
Capitalize AND i think it's similar to the powerplay. Situation
they're not capitalizing on the power. Play you, know they're
not taking advantage of those opportunities that they. Have AND
i think for, me that's the big one is being
an opportunistic team and realizing, that you, know you have
to rise to the. Occasion and that's what playoff hockey is.
About you, know when you go back to last, season
(33:21):
This Barry colts, team they found a way to win
in the.
Speaker 4 (33:24):
First round of The Eastern Conference. Finals they showed it
again here.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Tonight they have players on their teams that are, gamers
they know how to win hockey, games and they did
exactly that here this.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
Afternoon colts ticket six to five in the shootout and
what was a tipsy turvy game for the Niagor Ice
dogs and. One obviously they gain a, point but they'll
definitely want that second point the way that this one.
Ended so we're going to be right back on today's

(38:58):
doesn't get any easier for The Ice dogs because they've
got the high Powered Brantford bulldogs coming into town Next,
thursday and then they've also welcomed back The Sudbury, wolves
who they defeated in the home, opener so they get
too a little lighter of a week next, week two home,
games so they'll be looking forward to that as. Well but,
again it doesn't get any easier as far as the
(39:18):
strength of. Opponents you Played windsor And bury this, week
and then you'll Get branford. Next so The Ice he's
got to get things figured out here quickly because they've
obviously not played up to their full potential through the
first seven. Games but they're still sitting decently in the
middle of The Eastern conference for.
Speaker 3 (39:35):
Sure AND i think these next five games are really.
Important they have five of six of their next games
all here at, home which is kind of the luxury
of going on that road. Trip for the past two,
weekends they played a ton of games on the road
to start this. Season this is only their second game
at The Meridian center in like five, weeks which is
kind of hard to, believe a little bit heartbreaking for.
(39:55):
MYSELF i shed a tear every time we leave this,
building and when we left Against, SUDBURY i definitely had
a few tiers to. Shed but it's nice to be
back here at For. Niagra they got to take advantage of.
It they have to take stock of these. Games they
Got sudbury at, home they Got bramford at, home then
they got a home at home With erie the following.
Weekend those are games that are must, win and Then
(40:16):
brampton And kingston in the following, weekend both games at.
Home SO i think those are important weekends for the
Niagraa Ice dogs to really get the ball rolling and
cement themselves at the top of The Central division and
at the top of The Eastern.
Speaker 4 (40:30):
Conference so we'll see how things go.
Speaker 3 (40:31):
THERE i think always important when you play a Team Lake,
sudbury and would have been nice to get the win
tonight against The Central division, opponent but it's gonna be
nice to see The dogs.
Speaker 4 (40:40):
A little closer to home over the next couple of.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
Weeks let's get The Ice dog's head, Coach Chris bartch
with his postgame comments is always brought to you By
Wild those out Of repair helping customers stay safe and
confident on the. Road In nigris twenty, twelve in honor
of the Late William Robert, hunter here's what The Ice
dogs head coach had to say following his team unfortunately
falling to The Barry colts and the six five. Shootouts. Thanks, yeah,
(41:07):
Yeah so obviously that's not what you want to happen
in the third.
Speaker 4 (41:10):
Period what did you see from behind the bench of
what was.
Speaker 6 (41:11):
Going on well up to the third? Period you, know
there was a lot of. Positives come third, period they
share putting BUCKS, d they start pressuring OUR. D we've
got to get. Exits we didn't get. Exits, uh prolonged
time AND d zone and pucks are going in your.
Net you, know it's it's a simple. Thing you get
a puck, in you get a puck, out and we
(41:33):
just got to do a better job of getting bucks.
Out and you know, what you, know there are young
learning mistakes, there there are you, know elements of you
know that they will learn. Through but you know your
d men and and and as a, group you've got
to push pucks out of your own. Zone and they
worked harder than us to keep them. In and then
(41:55):
it just comes down to. That it comes down to
what you want to put forth and what you want
to invest and you have a.
Speaker 9 (42:02):
Return.
Speaker 6 (42:03):
Uh they wanted to push harder than us in the third.
Speaker 4 (42:05):
Sure and now how do you have the list as
of culture and something like?
Speaker 5 (42:08):
That?
Speaker 1 (42:09):
Life this is.
Speaker 6 (42:10):
Life life's not. Life every day is not. Easy life every.
Speaker 3 (42:14):
Day is not.
Speaker 6 (42:15):
Success you, know the feeling of a win is, here
but you know you have to earn that next. Feeling
so again we sit, here we, Learn we go back
to the drawing. Board we we you, know go through,
video we we we we continually develop them as individuals
and and you make, changes you, know different than.
Speaker 1 (42:33):
Life the same thing you mentioned the first two.
Speaker 6 (42:35):
Periods there's a lot of.
Speaker 1 (42:36):
Positives what did you?
Speaker 4 (42:37):
Like what did you? Like one of the first pace, work.
Speaker 6 (42:40):
The want to play for each, other the consistency of, details,
uh you, know even small things of change, Rules, uh you,
know keeping yourself accountable to changes and the right. Changes.
Uh in terms of coming off and on the. Ice you,
know we were true to our systems and then come
the third you, know you have to meet that push
from the other, side and it's going to be a learning,
(43:01):
process so you, know and we will support them and
work through it with them and us as a. Group so,
yeah you, know tomorrow's another.
Speaker 3 (43:11):
Day and.
Speaker 1 (43:13):
It's interesting to see how a team will react to
something like, this right because you, know because it's going
to happen.
Speaker 6 (43:18):
In course of the. Season, Right, well you, know different than.
Anything you, know you you you have to, react you
have to make the right, choices and nobody's gonna feel
sorry for. You, no it feels sorry for. You so,
uh you just. You you worry about what you can,
control and what we can control is you, know from
now moving forward and the choices that we make as
(43:41):
individuals and as a.
Speaker 1 (43:42):
Team so, yeah se you sense a little bit, more
a little bit extra with the players are going against
THE rold teams today on both. ENDS a couple of
things after the, whistle even after the, period there seems
like a lot of extracurricular. Stuff what do you tell
the guys on the bench when it seems to be
a you, know high emotion like. That, WELL i.
Speaker 6 (43:57):
Think there's a emotion in every. Game you, know it's
a physical goal sports to contact, sports so there's gonna
be elements of you, know emotion or motion and everything they.
Do so you, KNOW i expected what we saw. Today you,
know it's again you want to get those wins for
those other, individuals you, know especially playing against old, teams
(44:19):
and tonight did not, Happen so we'll have another opportunity
at at some point here.
Speaker 1 (44:24):
Shortly so power plays still work in. Progress what are you,
seeing what are you seeing from? There and what do
you think needs to be the biggest improvement as you go?
Speaker 6 (44:30):
Forward, WELL i think for sure you need A d
on the back end of it rather than five. Forwards
so that's first and. Foremost and then you, KNOW i
Say iger and we'll be connected on a nice power
play goal in the. Third and it's just again maneuvering
finding things at, work and, hey it's like a. Puzzle you,
know you're trying to find. Pieces we've got a lot
(44:52):
of pieces and a lot of individuals that can impact
on that power. Play so you know it's gonna be
an earn aspect for.
Speaker 1 (44:57):
Everyone when you've had to do some line shift with
other guys out of the lineup and expecting other guys
to step in when they have the. Opportunity how are
you feeling like from some of those other guys and
this team starting to are they starting to gel a little?
Bit because again that's. There they've only played six full
games together this whole, group and even less for the
guys that are back FROM nhl. Camp so how do
you think the whole cohesiveness is going as far as
you go before the, SEASON i.
Speaker 6 (45:19):
Am happy IF i look overall big. Picture you, know
they are a close. Group they played for each, other you,
know willing to block, shots do what's. Needed so for,
that you, KNOW i, Mean i've got.
Speaker 8 (45:30):
No complaint at.
Speaker 1 (45:31):
All and then lastly with Your, malenko obviously you know
the ending wasn't what he, Wanted but how did you
think he performed out there tonight and obviously was hemmed
in a lot in the third and.
Speaker 6 (45:40):
Overtime, yeah you know what he, battled you, KNOW i,
mean we've got to be better in front of him
in regards to you, know his ability to make saves
and minimize shots on. Net so it's one of those
things where you, know you go back to the drawing,
Board look what we can do in front of, him
and then can truly working with him on his, performance
(46:03):
on his. Development Ryan ludzick's done a great job with
all our, goaltenders so that'll be a focus here and
getting them prepared For. Branford thanks.
Speaker 1 (46:09):
Coach worse things there Was Ice dog's head Coach Chris
BArch on the, Postgame, Christian what were your thoughts of
what he had to.
Speaker 3 (46:15):
SAY i think a lot of the things that he
has to say are very relevant and very similar to
some of the things THAT i would have to say
IF i was the bench boss of this.
Speaker 4 (46:24):
Team it's let's figure out the.
Speaker 3 (46:26):
Puzzle he talks a little bit about the different, pieces
and of course up front offensively we've talked about. It
there's so many different pieces they, got like fourteen rostered,
forward so really starting to understand where some of those
pieces are gonna fit is. Important and then he talks
a little bit about the. Compete this is not you,
know minor pee wee. Hockey this isn't you, know your,
(46:50):
aunt's you, know friendly game of, majong and so there's
a level of compete here that that has to be,
met AND i think for, me the third period will
is really where The Ice dog. Struggled they didn't meet that.
Pushback and that's What Chris bartch talked, about is being
ready for that. Pushback you know what's, coming but can
we actually meet. It AND i think that's a good
(47:11):
point that he makes and something that he's gonna have
to work on with this group to really start to
develop the ability to be ready for those. Situations and
then of, course uh Vladyslavia malco thought he had a great.
GAME i think To chris's, points the team in front
of him didn't play as well as they could. Have
BUT i do think for, sure just finding those pieces
(47:32):
on the power play and starting to, understand you, know
how each other's, PLAYS i think that's that's gonna be
really important for a team that's that's still. Young and
he talks about that as, well you, know being a
young team that's making young. Mistakes it's gonna, happen.
Speaker 1 (47:45):
Right the power play with the five forwards.
Speaker 3 (47:46):
Exactly SO i think for, him for for general Manager Frank,
evla for the players, themselves there's there's all these different
variables that are slowly gonna start to reach ahead as
we approach mid season and hopefully once we get, there
we can be talking about different things on the post game,
show BUT i think you know it's it's all gonna
(48:09):
come with.
Speaker 1 (48:09):
Time let's get to Our Ice dog's player interview, tonight
and that is With Ice dog's second round selection of
The Tampa Bay lightning after his hat Trick Ethan, zoda
and that is brought to you by The Nagardentric, clinic
creating natural looking smiles in The niaga region for over
twenty five. Years here's what The Ice dog's third year
forward had to say following tonight's.
Speaker 4 (48:27):
Game obviously not the way you want things to, go
so as a as.
Speaker 1 (48:33):
A vetteran on the, team he, said how do you
try to make sure that you, know the young guys
get over this and understand that it's a learning process
and not take this with.
Speaker 4 (48:40):
Him the rest of the year.
Speaker 9 (48:41):
Typely, HONESTLY i kin, tells that's a long. Season you,
know a lot of things. Happen you, know you can't
really predict it's going to happen each and every.
Speaker 4 (48:48):
Game you, know.
Speaker 9 (48:50):
Things, happen AND i kind of just learned from them
and kind of just learn from the. Experience the next
game hopefully come out, harder finish the game.
Speaker 1 (48:57):
Harder, sure from your point of, view had such a
nice to lead after two? Period what what what.
Speaker 4 (49:02):
Was going on in the third period?
Speaker 9 (49:03):
THERE i, SAY i think we just kind of just
started playing like the Old Ice. DOGS i think we
kind of just weren't playing our, game you, know we're
trying to do it, ourselves kind of wasn't playing as
really as a. Team you, know the first two, PERIOD
i think we're instacrums. Together we were four checking, hard
getting the pucking, deep AND i think after THAT i
think kind of just leaned away from that and that's
(49:25):
it could cost.
Speaker 4 (49:26):
Us, sure it's always nice to score a hat. Trick,
obviously you'd rather do it in you a, win the goal,
scorer the goals are going in for. You do you
feel a little bit more confident as far as just
putting the puck in the.
Speaker 9 (49:36):
Net, yeah feel more. Confident, yeah you, know summer was,
good had a good skin draft and all. That when
experience kind of just helps the. Confidence so, yeah coming
here and kind of bringing that to help our team
try to win games is like goal this year so.
Speaker 1 (49:52):
Great do you think you came back From tampa with
a little bit more juice a little bit, MORE i
guess excitement and, energy confidence as, well to know that
you can make these plays that you've always talked about
that you are confident in yourself in.
Speaker 9 (50:04):
Making, yeah you, know, obviously you know it's achievement to get,
drafted AND i kind of just bring everything you learn
from all the development, camps the man camps to kind
of just bring it back here and kind of on
the ice against junior kind of last couple years in,
junior kind of useoes to kind of make myself a
better player each and every.
Speaker 1 (50:22):
Game, so, yeah as far as the adversity, you've like you,
mentioned you've been through a lot with this team over
the last two years and nothing really seems to phase
you because you've been through some tough times here to
be able to come out on the other. Side so
what do you tell some of those guys in the
room that haven't been here for these experiences that you,
know these are some of the things you have to
go through in a long season.
Speaker 9 (50:39):
That, honestly if you're just do it, together you, know
stay as a, team you don't kind of just just
always stay as a team and be a. FAMILY i
think we can get through or. Anything so, honestly you,
know the last couple of, years that's something we lacked
kind of just being a. Family so think you if
you just stick together and through ups and downs like,
this you know we'll have our, downs we'll have our,
ups but at the end of the, day you just tick,
(51:00):
together it will be a better.
Speaker 1 (51:01):
Team, lastly what was he like playing against that? Team,
obviously you, know some unfinished business from last, season them
knocking you out of the playoffs and Alex asidorian being
on that side as. Well did you notice a little
bit more extra curricular stuff out there With Patterson tiller
now on your side as.
Speaker 9 (51:14):
Well, Yeah i'll be, all it's gonna be a chippy
game against them every. Time you, know we play them
eight times this, year so you know each every game
is gonna be a, battle and, uh it's fun. Hockey
so Thanks, ethan thank.
Speaker 1 (51:25):
You there Was Ice dogs Forward Tampa Bay lightning second
round Signe Ethan zada on The niger dentro clinic player
post Game. Christian pretty honest thoughts there From. Ethan zoti
is not a necessarily the biggest talker in the, world
but what he did say was pretty. Impactful he, said you,
know they might have sort of went back to the
Old Ice dogs of the last few, years where they
give up a lot of goals and they play a
(51:47):
little bit too individualistic and get away from the system
That Chris barts talks about of, great good, defense creating good,
offense which they did through the first two, periods and
then things sort of fall that fell. Apart but your
quick takeaways from what the third year forward.
Speaker 3 (52:00):
Say, yeah just talking about family and playing for each.
Other AND i think it also in some, ways in
some respects ties into What Chris BArch had to say as.
Well when this group is playing for each, other when
they're playing for their, goaltender they find ways to be.
Successful in that third, period they struggled in that. Area
they did not play for their. Goaltender they had a
four goal, lead and they let it slip away because
they were more interested in maybe you, know finding an extra,
(52:24):
goal you, know mate For, zada looking for the, fourth
looking For, roebrick trying to get back on the. Board
And zada talked a little bit about that and instead
of being, individuals let's play for each other as a
team and as a. Family here and to your, Point
brandon that's something That chris BArch has talked about from day.
Speaker 4 (52:40):
One that's the identity of this.
Speaker 3 (52:42):
Night riis talks team and we kind of saw THAT
dna collapse for the first time here at home in
that third, period and that's a good indicator as to
what it looks like when it's going. Wrong you, know
when a team is just they're not playing for each,
other they're not taking hits for each, other they're not
blocking shots.
Speaker 4 (52:59):
Anymore there's there's no urgency to win those puck.
Speaker 3 (53:04):
Battles and those are the things THAT i take away
from Ethan's ouda's. WORDS i think it's a very mature
statement from a third year player coming back looking to
lead this group and hopefully himself Alongside Ryan Robrit kevin
he And chris bartch all of that professional, experience both
behind the bench and in front of.
Speaker 4 (53:21):
IT i think if they can.
Speaker 3 (53:23):
Find a way to play as a family and play
for one, ANOTHER i think that dinner table is gonna
be happy Come.
Speaker 1 (53:28):
Thanksgiving and you wouldn't know that he scored a hat
trick tonight because the only thing that matters is getting
the two, points and obviously they just didn't do enough
to earn those two. Points but, again as you, mentioned
really mature postgame From Ethan. Zoda come a long way
from his first two seasons doing those postgame. Interviews so
absolutely hats off to him after a great. Game and
that sort of leads into our stick tap of the,
(53:49):
game brought to you by Butt ends hockey stick grips
specifically for the top bend of the, stick designed to
replace traditional cloth. Tape check them out at Butt ends
that's with A z and use their referral code discount.
Slash i'm SURE gm to get ten percent off your first.
Order engineer for. Greatness buttons a number one grip in. Hockey,
CHRISTIAN i don't think gets much debate on who your
stick taps going to.
Speaker 3 (54:08):
Tonight, yeah, Well Ethan zoda's stick definitely has a butt
end on, It i'll tell you that because he lightd
the lamp with consistency here. Tonight of, course the hat
trick pretty hard to pick somebody else.
Speaker 4 (54:21):
For the stick. Taps and we talked a little bit.
Speaker 3 (54:23):
About his, goals but for, me some notable, mentions, well you,
know take a trip down the rest of the.
Speaker 4 (54:29):
Roster.
Speaker 3 (54:29):
Kevin he for me got his fifth points in two
games here tonight had three, assists assisted on all three
of Ethan zada's. Goals in impressive performance from the Niager
Ice dogs. CAPTAIN i Thought Riley patterson had a great
game as, well gets on the scoreesheet against his old,
team a nice little boost for him and a nice
little boost for the Niager Ice.
Speaker 4 (54:47):
Dogs and then.
Speaker 3 (54:48):
Some players that you maybe won't see on the box.
SCORE i Thought gray Sid tiller And Raith smith both
rose to the. Occasion grace Of, tiller of, course also
playing against his old team means a ton for him
to be involved.
Speaker 4 (54:59):
In early in.
Speaker 3 (55:00):
First, period you could hear it from up, here he
was getting chirped from the, bench AND i thought his
response to that was, fantastic very. Mature he set the
standard for the rest of the. Team this is how
we're gonna play against a, big, mean broad street bullyed
Type Barry colts roster who can come and kind of
bang you out of the.
Speaker 1 (55:17):
Building, boys they're.
Speaker 3 (55:18):
Big, boys AND i Think grace And tillery did a
great job to really stand up to that physical. Push
and Then Ray smith of course fits right into the
conversation like a. Glove that guy's in the. Mix and
he was. Tonight he was in the, Scrums he wasn't shying.
Away he had words to share with pretty much everybody
up and down That Barry colts.
Speaker 4 (55:37):
Lineup it didn't matter who you are drafted or.
Speaker 3 (55:39):
Not he was in your face from the first puck
drop here, Tonight AND i THINK i like that from.
Them so the two scrappy Guys, tiller Rate, Smith, patterson
he And zada get on the score sheet and then
You're malenco of course in between the. PIPES i think
the third period was not an indication of the skill
that he brings to this. TEAM i think the team
in front of him failed. Him they did not play
(55:59):
like a. Family Taithan zadas And Chris barch's words in
the post. Game SO i think he had a fantastic
night as. Well through the first forty, minutes he was.
Electric he made staves when he had, to and he
gave The Rice dogs a chance to.
Speaker 1 (56:11):
Win they're gonna need more performances Like Ray smith gave,
tonight not backing, down stood up for his teammate In.
FLINT i believe Was Ivan gallianoff took a tough hit
and stood up for his. Teammates and that's what you
want to, see that family and that camaraderie as this
team continues to learn each other on and off the,
ice AND i think those two last weekend road trips
obviously helped with. That but, again good. Start they'll come
away with the, point which is not the end of the,
(56:31):
world but just the way that that game ended and.
Turned that's a game that they want to be able
to lock, down come away with the two, points and
maybe they end up winning this game later in the
year because of the learning experience it from this. One
so any quick final thoughts here Christ. In our next
post game show is going to be right back here
