(00:45):
and all for all great workout there based out of Sealy,
Texas that will travel. It's done correct and with respect
to give Brenna call seven one three, eight nine zero
twenty five fifty one. Well, Tam, I always say this,
we saved the best for last at the end of
the week two when we do this, which is great
to do, and always to put it out there too
as well. He's well known with the Righteous Brothers, and
he's got some great solo projects out that we're gonna
(01:06):
talk about Bucky Hart of the big time group the
Righteous Brothers here on the backstage past Bucky.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
How you doing, man, Brandon? I if I was gonna better,
i'd be two people. Good to say that to my dad.
No good, great man, how are you doing?
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Good man?
Speaker 3 (01:21):
I always say we saved the best for last, which
is good out there too. I love it is to
wrap up the weak man. Just do it like a
solo show. Get to the gym this morning, take the
daughter to school. It's kind of like the vacation time
and the work time. You have to be able to
split it up a little bit.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
But yeah, yeah, I like when I.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Can get a little bit of vacation time and time
off the cree.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
I get it, I get it.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
Just good.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
Hey, tell us all about this. We'll get into all
the great Righteous brother stuff, but a lot of cool
things too. We're gonna play a couple of songs on
the show today and just kind of get to know you.
And that always said the addiction to music, like when
was the calling? It kind of came down from God
going man, this is gonna be a big part of
my life. And some people say, well, I just started
doing this as a three four years ago. You've been
at this a long time, no doubt. And what did
(02:01):
that calling kind of come for you to kind of
take this? You know, I'm you know, I'm doing something
else kind of in my life right now too.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
But I know music is kind of like the destiny.
Talk about that for me.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Yeah, well, you know, I guess in retrospect, I always knew.
I mean, uh, when I moved recently out to Las
Vegas about six years ago and I was packing up stuff,
found an old report card from second grade, missus Crocker
in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. Uh, she she's uh, she said,
we love that. We love that Bucky entertains the class
(02:32):
at show and tell. And I was singing back then.
I grew up in the church, you know, Southern Baptist church,
singing in church, and you know that's where I developed
my love for singing. And uh, and I think my
heart for singing because when you sing for God, you know,
you're singing for something more important than you, and and
and and then that kind of carries over, I think
to any other solemn music you do, which is automatically
(02:53):
you sing with with a purpose or with the feeling
of the song, and and and I. But I think
at a very young age, I in retrospect, I knew
that I wanted to do it. And then I went
on to do community theater. I did shows with my
mom when I was like a kid, you know, and
then carried into college. By the time I did, you know,
a show choir and all that. By the time I
(03:14):
got into college, I figured I was going to run
away from it, and I was. I jumped into getting
my geology degree, believe it or not, and I needed
a I went to Auburn University, needed a year and
a half to get my geology degree, and I was singing,
started singing with a rock band on the side, and
too much to my parents' chagrin, I dropped out of
college and went on the road with this rock band
(03:35):
for a year and doing Southern rock and tour in
the Southeast. And then the band broke up and I
had to come crawling back home with my tail between
my legs. And I told my dad, I said I
wanted to I wanted to be in entertainment, and I
wanted to go and get my theater degree, and he said, well, son,
why didn't you just do that to start with? My
dad was a country doctor. And I said, I didn't
think you'd be proud of me, and he said, so,
(03:56):
I just I just want you to be happy. And
at that point I went back and I got my
theater degree, and I went to work in small theaters
and I went to work on the cruise lines. Heard
about Branson, went out there. Worked in Branson for twenty
two years, where I met a lot of people, but
including Bill Medley around eight and he and I became
good friends, but we didn't sing together until about twenty fifteen.
(04:19):
He came in and I was doing a show and
I was singing some Journey songs and you know, he said, wow,
I didn't know you could do that stuff. He goes,
why don't you come by the house and we'll sit
around the piano and we sang some Righteous Brothers tunes
and kind of it just happened so innocently. So that's
kind of the whole thing. Man. It just kind of
went bang, mame, mang leme manglean bang.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Yeah, it's like you said, just kind of with that
pattern right there where it's meant to be, what is
meant to be, what will happen to as well? Looking back,
I mean they've been around for a long time, maybe
back in the day. You mentioned Bill Medley and all
these The history of the Righteous Brothers kind of take
us through that too as well. To join such an
iconic group there and so iconic songs we were talking
about before the show. We went live here unshanged melody
and you've lost that love and feeling, you know, you're
(05:00):
my soul and inspiration to sing these timeless classics that
go on and on, you know, for people after just
decades and decades after this music still kind of lives
strong today, doesn't it.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
Oh it's uh yeah, I mean these songs still touch
hearts and push buttons. I mean, as you know, you
a good song is a good song. And uh but
soule an inspiration, Like people ask me all the time,
what's the point in the Righteous Brothers show that you
really feel the audience Just go and it's about three
songs and we do soul an inspiration and you can.
(05:30):
The beautiful thing about music, as you know, is the
memories that the music creates and it's like a time machine.
So when you hear these songs, certain songs take you
immediately back to certain points in your life. And so
you see these folks out there, and sole an inspiration
starts and hands start being held and the husbands put
their arms around the wives, and you know, it's just really,
(05:53):
it's really incredible. And to stand on stage, you know,
singing with Bill Medley, who I idolized growing up, and
Bobby Hatfield, who I think is one of the greatest
tenors ever to hold a microphone. I can't even put
it into words. It was life changing for me on
every level, but to be carrying the torch. And when
(06:14):
we put this together, we were given three months in
Las Vegas. That was it. That was all we were promised.
And Bill said, I don't know if people will care
if the Righteous Brothers are back. Bobby died in No.
Three and he waited till a respectable amount of time,
till twenty fifteen before we started kind of putting this together,
and he said, I don't know if anybody's going to
(06:35):
accept the Righteous Brothers. Fans are going to accept anybody
stepping in to Bobby to take over for Bobby. You know,
and here we are ten years later. Man, you know,
so it's working.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
It's working, no doubt too. And I said, I knew
people would actually come back. And I said, when it's
great music, You're right, it's great music. A residents fans
out there too. And again this music still the test
of time, still does today too. When you get guys
get out there and performing live. If it's great music
too as well, fans are gonna see that. They're gonna
buy the merch you they'll come with the shows and
buy the tickets too. And like I said, you know
that the group just you mentioned, the Righteous Brothers has
lived on for so long too. I gotta ask you
(07:10):
about this one. I'm sure it never gets old. The
White Cliffs of Dover. Let's let's talk about this from
the bank of Songs and their catalogs.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
I love that.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
Yeah, we don't. I don't do that one in the
show very often, but when we have special events, Bill
will have me sing that, and I mean, Bobby's voice
just soars on that, and that's that's one of my
one of my favorites to do. Eptide's another one that
Bobby sang so beautifully was a follow up to Unchained Melody,
(07:37):
But I mean the scariest one to do obviously is
Unchained Melody because it's so iconic and you just feel
like all eyes on you. And and again I do
that one at special events. Bill does a really touching
rendition of that song, sings it down the octave you know,
where Medley sings it, and that, you know, and he
shows video of him and Bobby throughout the years, you know,
(08:00):
with Ray Charles and all these and him and Bobby
on stage, and it's just incredibly moving. There's not a
dry eye in the auditorium. So yeah, man, it's all
these songs, but just are are timeless? Are just timeless hits,
And we're still going out ten years later and play
(08:21):
into you know, fifteen hundred people are still coming out
on any given night to come and see the Righteous Brothers.
And I've been welcomed into the family. It feels like,
you know, actually say in the show to the audience,
I said, you know, even after ten years, it's still
mind blowing to me that this little kid that played
(08:43):
these records in this room and this tiny little town
in Alabama is standing on this stage tonight next to
Bill Medley. A rock and Roll Hall of Famer and
singing these songs for you, and I just tell them
from my heart that I just thank them for welcoming
me into the Righteous Brothers family. Uh, it's a it's
a true honor.
Speaker 5 (09:01):
Man.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
Oh it's great out there too. Congratulations to you on
that too for just going strong with him for the
last ten years too. Time to play one now for
Bucky Hurt. He's got his own projects. We're gonna talk
about there too, of course, the new single across all
the DSPs out there for streaming for you guys, my

Speaker 2 (13:46):
My friend Brent out there, give him a holler out

Speaker 3 (13:49):
It's done correct and with respect to seven one, three, eight, nine, zero,
twenty five fifty one B and B construction services out
there for your next project, look them up and they
will travel. Like I said, out of Sealy, Texas. Out there,
all right, Bucky, we got to go over too and
love it so much. Again, you've got your own flavor
of doing this and mentioned all the great music of
the Righteous Brothers. But this one here is across all
the DSPSS of June twenty seventh, the courage everybody to
(14:11):
go stream it wherever they stream music. Fantastic song and
what a beautiful story told for my best days man.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
Thank you, brother, Thank you. It was one of the
first songs that we looked at. It was an amazing
song to me because it really tells my story. You know,
you would think throughout my musical career being becoming a
Righteous Brother would be the pinnacle. And now that Bill
(14:38):
is starting to wind it down a little bit, I
had a couple of choices, you know. I could I
could continue on as Bucky. You know, Buck, you here
are the Righteous Brothers. And I had some promoters talk
about putting me together with like The Letterman and some
of these older acts like Jay and the Americas. I
just felt like I had something to offer and I
wanted to put myself out there for the first time
as a real solo artists. And also the song spoke
(15:05):
to me because when my management team started looking for songs,
I said, you know, when we got hundreds of great
songs from great Nashville writers, and I said, I don't
want to sing about partying and getting drunk and all
that stuff. You know, when people leave my show, I
want them to leave feeling better about themselves in the
world around them. I don't preach to people, but what
(15:27):
I want to encourage people, and my Best Days does
that so well, is that dreams don't have a shelf life.
And whether you're eight or you're eighty, everybody has a dream.
And I want to encourage people to take that dream
off the shelf and dust it off and pursue it.
(15:47):
And know that as long as you are having a
great time and you believing in yourself, and you silence
the haters around you because so many people around you,
people listen to people around them, don't listen to all
that all you need to do is to be the
best version of yourself that you can be. And every
day you put your put your feet on the ground
(16:07):
and you say, I'm just gonna take steps toward this
dream whatever it may be. It may not be to
be a singer. Maybe you always wanted to crochet, or
whatever your dream is. You know, I just want to
encourage people that that that it's not over and I
don't want you to get to the end of your
life and and go I wish I wish I would
(16:27):
have should have, would have, could have. You know, all
you gotta do is is believe in yourself and uh
and and and and be the best you that you
can be, and just take steps towards that. Like the
song says, age ain't nothing but a number.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
That's exactly a good title for it to. I love
those hooks on songs too. Let me ask you about
songwriting speaking of something like that too. When it comes
to mind. Some people say they wake up at like
two three o'clock in the morning, have this hook that
they can't get it out of their head. They'll pick
up their phone, open the voice memo. So thanks, get
a lyric put down here and there too.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
You do the same thing. Talk about your songwriting process
of what you love most.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Yeah, you know. I usually I've got an idea for
a hook in my head, you know, or some title
like I've got a whole page in my notes just
when I think of a fine hook. Like I wrote
a song a few years ago. I'm a big football fanatic.
I had a podcast two years ago, Big football Fanatic,
and I wrote a song called Armchair Quarterback, and the
(17:21):
hook was that pig skin squeals beneath the wheels of
the armchair quarterback. I kept hearing pig skin squeals beneath
the wheels, and that was where the whole song started.
I wrote the whole song around it. You know, there's
a song on our record that I on this record
that I co wrote with a great songwriter, Terry Joe
Box and Trick Savage, and they're just amazing, and I
(17:43):
brought it to the table, is called and it's the
second release off the album's call It is what it
is till it ain't. And everybody says that, you know,
but it's most of the time a negative connotation. You know,
like you meet this girl, you think she's the one,
you might take her home to mom, and all of
a sudden, she shows up on your doorstep at two
in the morning, going why don't you call me? You know,
And it was a negative. So we put a positive
(18:04):
spin on this and it's, uh, you know, the chorus
is it is what it is, so it eate. A
wave is a wave till it breaks, and open doors
open until it starts closing. It is what it is,
sill it eate. You got to get on the roll
while it's rolling. You got to go bro to get
while you're where you're going. You could while you can
till you can't. It is what it is till then eight.
And it's another song that's in encouraging, you know, don't
(18:27):
let this moment pass you by. Don't let this time
in your life pass you by. Open that door, walk
through it, take that chance, pick yourself up, dust yourself off,
and move forward and live life care free and with hope,
with and following your dreams.
Speaker 5 (18:40):
Man.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
And I know it kind of sounds like I'm being preachy,
but I just think there's so much negativity and so
much doubt, and especially the haters out there that don't
have the guts to try it themselves. We'll try to
tear every try to tear you down until you can't
do it. And I just, you know, I refuse to
let that happen. And I hope people out there, if
(19:01):
they don't take anything from hearing my music or hearing
this interview, that they that they revisit what it is
that makes them happy and what it is and maybe
they've let slip to the wayside and dust it off
and pursue it again.
Speaker 4 (19:17):
You know.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
Yeah, I can't wait for that this new record to
come out to I know you guys mentioned that first
single released off of it, in My Best Days. There's
one we're going to play call miss Me Yet here
in a little bit from Bucky Heard again the backstage
past KYB in ninety eight point one to your Bay
Area broadcasting network out there, the sports guyspodcast dot com,
and of course iHeartRadio podcast out there. Let's talk about
this and this is a big the first one off
of there for My Best Days, but the full length,
(19:39):
the new record is now coming out. I want to
go back to the Through the Years here a little
bit too, because one of the most powerful, uplifting records
that I've never actually just take a notion too and
get a chance to listen it from cover to cover
through the Years. Heartache Tonight another great song that really
set the tone for that particular record too as well.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
And I was made to love her. My wife actually
loved this one too. So we got to dive into
this record.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
Uh yeah, that that album we did in twenty twenty
three and Bill Medley produced it. And to have Bill
produce it in the studio, he said, I want to
do this record for you. He actually helped pick a
lot of the songs on the record. He lost his
sweet wife during COVID to Parkinson's and she was wonderful.
(20:22):
Their song was sometimes Man we touch the odds, t
is too much, So we put that one on the record.
I'd never sung the Elton John song. Sorry seems to
be the hardest word, but Bill wanted to put that
on the record, so I said, okay, and he masterfully
produced that song. Through the Years was my parents' song.
(20:45):
Another reason that I try to encourage people to not
live with regret my mom. You know that I've talked.
You know. She introduced me to music. Her and Elvis
had the same birthday. She's the one that introduced me
to all this great music. And I lost her. She's
fifty eight years old and passed away suddenly, like she's
there one minute, the next minute she's not. And she
had asked me for many years to sing through the
(21:07):
Years for her, and she actually bought me the sheet music.
At one point, I'm like, Mom, i'll do it, I'll
do it, I'll do it, and I never I'm one
of the biggest regrets of my life is I never
got to do that for her. So I called the
album Through the Years and My favorite song on there
is I sang it for and I just lost my
dad two years ago, so I sang this song. Finally
got to do it for, you know, but it's I
(21:30):
do an opera piece on there nessa norma. I've done
some opera back in my day. I did a musical
theater piece somewhere from West Side Story, and I close
out with an Elvis tune, which was you know, Elvis
is one of the greatest performers, entertainers, and if I
can dream, we do a really stripped down version of
me and my buddy John Widameyer, who's the lead guitarist
(21:50):
for the Beach Boys. You know, two guitars and a
B three and that's it, no backup singers, nothing, We
just stripped it down. So and of course Open Arms
from Journey. Journey is really the reason I got this
Righteous Brothers gig. Bill walked in and saw my show
and I was doing c Perry, so that kind of
oh Journey that But but yeah, the album is just
a runs. It really runs a thread through all the
(22:12):
styles of music that I loved and and and and
and dabbled in because you know, I I just consider
myself Brandon I just consider myself a singer. People are
you a country singer? You a rock singer?
Speaker 5 (22:24):
You? This?
Speaker 1 (22:24):
Are you that? I'm a singer and I love music
and I love to sing all styles of music, and
I have sung all styles of music. But that album
is really special because Bill produced it and we were
able to run a thread he through all these different stuff.
I mean, when you have ness and dorma and heartache
tonight on the same album and it works, you know
(22:47):
that the producer has done an amazing job. And of
course Bill produced on Chain Melody, He produced all an inspiration.
He was amazing. And to do that with him and
be in the studio with him, watch how he works.
But so many covers. Only two originals on that song,
A song that is dedicated to my home state called
Alabama will Always Be Home and Soul Castle role which
(23:07):
is which is? You know, we're all a product of
all the like like your castle role, like what are you?
Whatever your favorite artists are, that's your musical cast role
and my castrole. Say it's the tablespoon of Marvin Gay,
A dash of otis on the dock of the day,
simmer Tills, James Brown, you know, you know those are
my musical influences. It made me who I am, uh
and so again. But this album is all original. The
(23:32):
only cover we're doing is a really great arrangement. Bob Bullock,
my producer, is just incredible. I had the dream team
of musicians on this. My music director for the project
was Chris Losinger, who's Garth Brooks's lead guitar player. Every
Garth Brooks hits you've ever heard, that's Chris playing on.
He tours with him and uh. He put together an
(23:53):
incredible arrangement of crying by Roy Orbison and that's on
the record. So but this album is hopefully going to
propel me from Righteous Brothers to Bucky Heard as a
solo artist.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
I think it was a good chance that will very
much happen.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
And I gotta ask you about this when we talk
about that record, though you guys are working on that
project for the full release, and these singles are coming
out there first before the full length record. I gotta
ask you about one of the toughest days that i'd
had too when looking back June eleventh, this just happened.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
A few weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
Brian Wilson had lost his life with the Beach Boys.
I know a lot of memories there too. One of
the greatest of all time. Born in nineteenth first there
in Englewood, California, died in Beverly Hills out there too.
But Brian Wilson is such an iconic figure in music, Buck,
you wanted to get your thoughts, and of course arcondolences
go out to the entire Wilson family out there too.
But just what he meant to music and the impact
(24:45):
he had on the upper generation too.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
Oh, it's you know, and Bill and he were really
good friends. And we've gotten to open for the Beach
Boys about three times now, which was which pretty amazing. Brian.
The impact of Brian Wilson.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
He may be.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
Single handedly the greatest writer composer ever. I mean, Paul
Paul McCartney said, God only knows is the best song
ever written? And uh and and and I tend to
believe that to be true. But yeah, the world lost
uh one of the greats, if not the greatest, Uh
in that realm, and and what he what he brought
(25:23):
with those harmonies. It's like I listened to the Beach
Boys like in my room, and you hear all these
layers of and you're just going, how does that come
out of somebody's mind? You know, how does that come
out of their you know, out of their brain? But
but it was, it's it was very special. Like I said,
opening for the Beach Boys. By that point, Brian and
Mike weren't really working together and and and Brian kind
(25:45):
of had his own thing going and Mike, Mike kind
of took and did his own thing. But I think
what they had and and God putting them together created uh,
the understatement of the of the century, but something pretty special.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
Yeah, I've gone too soon, no doubt too. And I'll
tell you what the full length of life lived there
too in celebration of rivals and there too one of
the greatest of all time entertainers, performers, singer, songwriters. He
did it all in the music business. Well, time for
another one too, we get a chance to play it.

in the backstage passes there. So we got to go
(31:43):
over this one, miss Me yet. This is one that
has not been released as of yet across all the
DSPs out there. Appreciate you letting us play here for
everybody out there too. Great song and I can't wait
for this full length album too.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
I know you're excited.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
Yeah, man, thank you. Miss Me at is actually my
wife's favorite song on the album. And when we all
heard the album, he said he thinks, he said, I
think you got the potential for about three hits off
of this record, and that was the first one he mentioned.
I love the spin on it. You know, we've all
been in those relationships where you both know it's right,
(32:16):
but you're both kind of scared, you know. So so
this guy in the song, like the song says, he decides,
I'm going to jump on my boat. I'm going to
take it about twenty miles out in the gulf and
I'm just going to sit out here and look at
the waves. I'm going to fish. And he kind of
puts it in the in his girl's court. He's like,
you know, I love you. I want to be with you.
I can. Every day i'm out here, I'm one step
(32:37):
closer to sailing. So do you want me to come
home to you? Or should I keep sailing? You know?
Do you miss me yet? And I'd never heard it
put like the storytelling aspects of that song. It's almost
got a Jimmy Buffett kind of feel to and I think,
but that is one of my probably in top two
(32:57):
three songs on the album. And I just really really
love the song and I'm actually planning to go down
and shoot the video for that in a few months
down in Dustin, Florida, my happy place. And so yeah, yeah,
and thank you for playing that man. That's that's uh,
my wife will be really happy.
Speaker 2 (33:13):
I love that one.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
Dustin Florida another great place to get adventure to down
fish have a good time, and it's a happy place
down there without having to go to Disney World. I
guess I canay place there in Orlando, Florida. Hey, is
there a drop date for this record coming up through too?
Because I know you guys are teasing it with singles,
but I'm ready for the full length album too.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
Yeah, you know, I know. The next uh So this
song's twenty seventh. The next one drops August first, which
is what it is.
Speaker 6 (33:38):
Eight.
Speaker 1 (33:40):
Then we're dropping the song on the album called the
Lightning that's gonna be the next month. That's kind of
the rodeo type of song, you know. And then we're
released Crying, So we're probably looking at we haven't set
the date just yet, but we're probably thinking somewhere around September,
mid to late September for the for the full album released,
(34:00):
but Crying will be the last. So we've got four
singles and uh, and then we'll release the album, like
I said, the whole album, probably somewhere late September.
Speaker 3 (34:10):
Oh good, we'd love to have you back here to
talk about the full length record on all those great
songs out there too as well. All you mentioned you're
a big football fan. You should be, obviously, I'm from Texas.
They know high school football very well down here, they
know college football. They love their pros down here too,
And of course, hey like Alabama, no stranger to football.
There to the Iron Bowl, between roll Tide and between
War Eagle, there for the Auburn Tigers.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
So for you.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
You mentioned that podcast too, and I'd love to get on,
just do a sports show. At one point, good talk
football to the Dickens.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
And we took the year off because I got so
busy with my album. But I've got a buddy of mine.
He and I have had a podcast for two years
and it's called STFU Stretching Stretching the Field, Ultimate Fantasy
Football Podcast. And uh, and you know, I honestly think,
(34:59):
and you may the same way, Brandon. I honestly think
if God came down and told me that I could
have Terry Bradshaw's job, you know, I would give up
the music business if I could just travel and see
games every weekend and talk sportsman. Sign me up.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
I'm right there with you wholeheartedly. I'm there, no doubt.
I'm ready.
Speaker 3 (35:16):
But you know what, it's gonna be an interesting NFL season.
A lot of cool storylines coming up. Yeah, I hope
and cross my fingers too, and people ask me, how
did you become an Arizona Cardinal fan? I still love
Kyler Murray. It's gonna be I think a fun year too.
We got Jonathan Gannon his head coach. It's a great
corn You guys got.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
A great team. Your defense was great last year.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
Yeah, good maker.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
And now you've got Benson coming in behind Connor. I
think Marvin Harrison Junior is gonna take a step up.
You got some you got you know, uh got my
brain is having a brain part McBride at tight end.
I mean, and Connor's gonna have a good year this year, man,
I really do. I'm thinking he's a you know, a
late A lot of people are gonna sleep on him
(35:54):
in fantasy football line. I think he's gonna make a
bounce back this year, and I think Marvin Harrison Junior
is gonna be a big part of that. Well.
Speaker 3 (36:01):
It's gonna be a lot of fun out there too
for the for the NFC West Division. But looking back,
who's your team for football?
Speaker 1 (36:06):
Who does it for you in the pros, I might start, dude, well,
you know him from Alabama and we don't have a team,
So what's the next closest team?
Speaker 2 (36:18):
We talking about the Tennessee Titans.
Speaker 1 (36:19):
No, I wish we wish we were. We're talking about
the Atlanta Falcons.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
Okay, gotcha?
Speaker 1 (36:25):
Oh yeah man. Oh and my wife's the Chiefs fan.
I was at the Falcon chief game this last year
with her. Didn't go well. You know, I may have
had won too many draft bears of the game. And
I got a big argument with her because I thought
we got robbed Kyle pittsk got interfered with in the
end zone and oh and I was you know, of
course we won't even talk about twenty eight to three
at halftime. So and I'm an Auburn Tiger. I'm graduate.
(36:47):
So I was at the Iron Bowl two years ago,
went fourth and thirty one, and I thought we had
it won. Andson Jason Milroe throws the touch out of
the corner of the end zone and just I've never
seen fourth and thirty one and the energy in that
room just because we're gonna go roll tovers corner. We're like, so,
you know, it's been a pretty satellite. We had Cam
(37:07):
Newton in twenty ten. Then we got the National championships,
so that was good.
Speaker 3 (37:10):
That was good, and I still tell you that, thank
for the State of Texas. Man one of the most
talented teams out there too. It's a team I used
to root for, and that being the Houston Texans. A
lot more offensively, defensively, well coached. The Texans could be
the surprise team this year.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
Or they're gonna make some noise. And then they got
better in the draft. But the White House, they drafted
their defenses like off the charts. I mean, I snapped
them up. And I'm in fourteen fantasy football leagues. If
you can believe that it's a full time job, like
Wednesday is Waivers Day, you know.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
You got to pull me into some of your leagues too.
I've got about three.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
Every year. Every year I pick a team that I think,
you know, that's kind of a long shot, and Houston
was enough, you know, the payoff in Vegas. So I
took them to win the Super Bowl and they made
some noise in the year before I took Myami and
they made some noise, you know. So I think Miami
was one hundred bucks to win three thousand and and
then they started getting hurt and all that stuff. But
this year, I think, who do you think is a
(38:10):
is a sleeper like to win to.
Speaker 3 (38:13):
I mean, obviously I go back to the Texas, but
I think a team that really can say this Slippers,
but a team that's got to get over the hump,
in my opinion, has got to be the Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 8 (38:23):
Man.
Speaker 2 (38:24):
Yeah, it's just got to get to a.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
The Marv Levy years when they had four years. They
go to the super Bowl and lose. But I think
the team that could if I was gonna on an
underdog and people are gonna think I'm crazy, they're two teams.
One's the New England Patriots. Their defense was decimated last year.
Drake May is going to take an extra step. They
really helped him out with getting Trevon Henderson and the
other as uh. In my opinion, the Raiders.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
Hey, Vegas is right there, baby, Like I said, if
you want to go to.
Speaker 1 (38:55):
And he's got a running back, now got a defense,
come on.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
Man, Like I said, never bet against Pirl.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
Bet it comes down and I'll still say, had that
one super Bowl win with Russell Wilson should have had
to looking back at it too. But you know, I'll
say this, the Swan song for me is gonna be
kind of cool to see this last season of Aaron
Rodgers with the Pittsburgh Steelers and kind of how he
takes this last year and really to heart, you know,
kind of shines with the young players.
Speaker 2 (39:19):
It's kind of that leader on the football team to
at the.
Speaker 1 (39:21):
Same time, and I'm worried about his and all that stuff.
Speaker 2 (39:25):
That worries me a little bit.
Speaker 1 (39:26):
It does, So we'll see what happens. I mean, he
wasn't that good last year. So they just need to
feed the ball, hand the ball off and play defense.
Speaker 3 (39:35):
I'll tell you no, the surprise team watch out for too,
and if they get him right, it's gonna be good.
The Chicago Bears. Now that you got Ben Johnson coming
over from from the Detroit Lions.
Speaker 1 (39:44):
I said, that is a nice sleeper pick there, man.
They also got Grady Jarrett from US this year, so.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
You got Grady Jared too, no doubt too.
Speaker 3 (39:50):
And if you get gets your defense right like I said,
like I said, get before giving up points to be
able to stop the opposition there too from scoring points
and do it on a per game basis.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
That's that's the cool side of it there too.
Speaker 1 (40:02):
And we definitely got to get on and talk some
sports and if I actually do, I have openings in
our leagues all the time. We do sleeper leagues, we
do dynasty leagues. We do a little bit of everything.
So I'll holler at you.
Speaker 2 (40:13):
Yeah, please do man. We'll exchange contact info at the
end of this. We'll leave in some leagues.
Speaker 3 (40:17):
Because I love when it comes up to for three
four fantasy football leagues, I could easily do my homework
starting on a Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (40:22):
And it last night to a Sunday, which is I mean,
they're ahead. See how I did that? That's is good. Hey,
In a little bit of free time, we're a little downtime.
We're not doing music. Obviously we mentioned fantasy football, but
what other kind of hobbies do you get into?
Speaker 1 (40:41):
Oh man? You know, uh, I like, you know, I've
gotten to the point in my life now when I
have some downtime. I mean I enjoy some Netflix. I
got two French bulldogs that I love, and you know,
I get on the couch. I've got a little pool
in my backyard converted to salt water, so it feels
like the beach. You know, we're in Vegas. I call
(41:01):
it the desert beach House. And uh, I just really
enjoy spending time at home, but I also enjoy traveling.
Like I was just in Uh, I'm on I'm on
my producer's computer bubble like uh but uh, I just
enjoy relaxing and then you know, and then traveling. What's
really cool. You know, we go all over the country
(41:23):
and uh and but we don't get to spend any
time in any of these places. So like I just
was in Austin for the first time, and I made
note of that place, and I want to go back.
So like we were in Idaho, which I fell in
love with cord Lane in that area, and uh and
I recently went back and got to spend some vacation
time there. So yeah, I just really enjoying going out
and traveling and spending some vacation time with my wife,
(41:46):
my kids out of the house. Now so uh we
kind of freed up to do whatever we want and
uh yeah, so so traveling and sight seeing. We just
spent we spent two weeks in Europe last year, which
is great.
Speaker 6 (41:58):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (41:58):
So ye, I think that's kind of my heart, Bobby.
And and like you you said, you got back to
the jail. I wait train four or five times a week,
and you know you got to use it or lose
it on the I'd rather sit on the couch and
eat KFC.
Speaker 2 (42:14):
But you know, well, you know you got to like it.
Speaker 3 (42:17):
So when you go back for your physical checkups, so
your doctor he goes any exercise, Oh, yes, yeah, exercises.
Speaker 1 (42:23):
I'm here to here. I'm going in on the seventh
as a matter of fact, to do another anxiety so
he doesn't yell at me.
Speaker 2 (42:30):
It never ends, no doubt about it. No, I love it, man,
The story is fantastic.
Speaker 3 (42:34):
Congratulations and all the success out there too, my best
days across all the digital streaming platforms checking it out,
waiting for the full length album sometime in mid September
the first of October right there too, and of course
a lot of great hits out there too, miss me
yet and a lot of these songs coming out over
the next few weeks into August. We appreciate you man
being a part of the program and uh man looking
forward to connecting again too. We're definitely gonna connect on
(42:55):
Fantasy football too coming up this fall. At the same time,
I appreciate you being one of us.
Speaker 2 (42:59):
My friend.
Speaker 1 (42:59):
Yeah, same here man, Thank you for having me on.
Thank you for I feel like I made a new
friend and I love that. And uh, let's uh, let's
hit each other up on Facebook, you know, shoot me
your number and let's stay. And like I said, if
you're really serious about playing, we have people dropping out
and we're right now. Our commissioner, he commissions all our leagues,
he he uh, he sends out a thing and say,
if you're not wanting to end, you know, let us know.
(43:20):
So I need to replace those and so we're constantly
having people drop out. So love for you to jump in.
Unless you're really good, then I don't want you in.
Speaker 4 (43:30):
I claim to be.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
Okay, I've won the league two years in a row.
Speaker 3 (43:32):
For the young it's you know, I do pay extreme
attention to everything out there PPR O leagues. I'm there
for uh as a lifer when it comes down to it,
and my background was always playing football, coaching football.
Speaker 1 (43:46):
Have you done dynasty?
Speaker 2 (43:48):
I have done dynasty. Yes, that's that's not on a
new level. That's another level, which is funny.
Speaker 3 (43:54):
You know they automate fantasy football a casino game like
walk into a casino year round and just playing.
Speaker 1 (43:58):
No that that would be you need to invent that
you're sitting on a gold mine.
Speaker 3 (44:03):
Sitting on the gold mine right there too as well.
