Always love being with you guys too. Let's talk about
the latest projects. I'm gonna dive right into it too, man,
deep into the pool because love this one. My next
door neighbor. Here we border it here in Texas, Leaving
Louisiana in the broad Daylight. It features the great world
renowned Oakridge Boys. How did this come about? The riding
and of course the project and bringing the Oaks in
on this.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
Well, to be honest with you, when we were little kids,
when we were little kids, we used to watch the
Dukes of Hazard reruns of the Dukes of Hazzard, and
I'll never forget the first time we heard saw Roscoe
had a speed trap and in that.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Speed trap he caught the.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Oakridge Boys and they had to play at the Boor's
Nest on the Dukes of Hazzard. So that's the first
time we were exposed to that song. Leaving lose Inn
in the Broad Daylight. When we're little kids and our mom.
Actually we learned to sing harmony but in my Dad's
a Little Thunderbird and to the Oacre's Boys and the
Gatlin Brothers. So it was pretty cool. We've come full circle.

Speaker 5 (02:17):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
We actually did a movie with that. We did the
soundtrack on and played played music on for a movie
that Dwayne Allen was in. We did the played on
the soundtrack. So that was our first exposure to him
and it has become we kind of formed a relationship
and he has been a cheerleader for the Flabber Band

(02:38):
and super cool.

Speaker 6 (02:41):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
We learned the song and we was like, man, I
wonder if we need to send this over to Dwayne.
So we sent it over Dwayne and he said he'd
love to be a part of it. So it was
just like bucket list. I don't know how to even say.
It's just like bucket list. Full circle. Then for the video,
we had John Snyder that played Bo Duke on The
Dukes of Hazzard. He came in for the videos. I

(03:02):
want to encourage your listeners to go check out the video.
Uh of leaving Louisiana in the Broad Daylight. We got
the general lead, we got we got uh bo Duke
and the Oakridge Voice. It's like, what more do you want?

Speaker 3 (03:14):
You know, It's like every country boys fantasy.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
So yeah, Country's corn bread right there too. We're not
gonna leave you guys hanging. We're gonna play right here
off the top here leaving Louisiana and the broad Daylight.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
You know, we're talking about all the projects you guys
putting out this single, talk about you know what's next?
This builds momentum to album an EP. What are we
looking at here for the rest of twenty twenty five?

Speaker 1 (09:14):
We are hoping for a full album, to be honest
with you. So we just got out of the studio
and we recorded four new songs and three originals and
then in another cover and that we're not allowed to
disclose what cover that is yet, but there are some
some prizes that are coming that's going to be unfolded

(09:35):
here in the fall, and we are stoked about it, man.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Yeah, I want to go back, and I'm stoked to
learn more about the project too. I know that you
can't disclose it right now to here on the show itself. Hey,
take me back a little bit too, Every Dog Has
It Today? I think the last time you know, we
had talked, of course I guess the time before that too.
But love all the music out there too, and just
the inspiration behind this record too, because I thought it
was one of the best records produced lyrically and it
really told some great.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Source thanks man. We actually we've been getting a lot
of feedback still Forever Dog Has This Day. And there's
another song on there called Beauty Amongst the Trees, And
we were actually, you know, before this podcast, we were
contemplating and just talking with our producer about possibly going
back in and doing a revised version of those songs

(10:22):
because our online feedback from those just those two songs
from that collection of songs, it's just been. It's been
unbelievable and we were just so excited still about that project.
It's it's it's pretty cool. So you know, every dog
has to do. That video was just unbelievable. You know,

(10:43):
we strapped to flipp and go pro to my brother's
dog and he just went off. He went off all
through the hollers here and.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
It just it was crazy.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
But of course we're we're huge bloodhound lovers and we
had a strap of godpro on on one of our dogs.
So but that that, even that video, we still get
high reviews from it. It's just been pretty pretty remarkable. Really.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
You know, I was asking another artist this last week,
and it's so important not just the songs you write,
but also trying to bring them to life. You know,
when it comes to the right producer for a record.
Talk about how key that is to choose the right
producer when you're mixing, mastering something in the studio.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
Well, the brothers and I have been through a lot
of them. It's it's it's a big it's a big deal. Really,
it's a lot bigger deal than what people realize. And
we've we actually met Trey Corley uh on the first
time that we played the Huckabee TV Show, and uh,
that's kind of how we met. Our our personalities just

(11:46):
kind of bonded together, and it just it's pretty important
because well, I mean, we've had some some doozies in
the past and it's important. Uh, communication is pretty key
when creating and creating an album, you know, So we
feel like we got a pretty good you know core.

(12:09):
Our relationship with Trey is just pretty pretty spectacular.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Really love that too that you write.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
It is a kind of paramount to choose that right
producer and just if you call through a few of
them too, you know what that's like. Hey, last year
was really key for you guys to a lot of
cool things. The vinyl record which we're gonna play God
Bless the radio here a little bit. I see Mayfest
where we actually probably last chatted there too, perform the
hard rock stage, and then Home Sweet Home reached number two.
I believe it was on that two Extra true Indie chart. Man,

(12:37):
this hell of a year for twenty twenty four.

Speaker 15 (12:39):
Twenty twenty four was just awesome. You know, I would
love to take credit for that Home Sweet Home song.
I mean, that's one of my favorites actually, but that
song was written by my brother Ched.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Ted wrote that song, and Ted, maybe you can tell
us what is the inspiration?

Speaker 3 (12:58):
What was the inspiration?

Speaker 1 (12:59):
I forget what did you say? It's it's it's well,
it's it's I'm on my second and final marriage. That's right,
So it's I wrote that in hopes to convince her
of my loyalty on the road.

Speaker 16 (13:12):
That's it, plain simple, YEA, do a lot of convincing.
I'll say that a lot of convincing. But we're gonna
play one right here too, Flat River Band. Check out
Flat riverband dot com.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
It's God bless the radio here it is, thanks for
listening out there, and goes God bless everybody out there

Dot com and back here Andy Chad and of course
Denny Joe, the Flat Riverband, the Backstage Past podcast now
top search on iHeartRadio podcast and of course out there
at th HWN dot orgon of course of the Sports
Guys Podcast dot com. A KYBN ninety eight point one,
you're a big area broadcasting network, so we mentioned this one. Dude,
I love you mentioned a Home, Sweet Home as you

(18:28):
couldn't take credit for that, but hey, God bless the radio.
I mentioned that Vinyl and everything. A lot of great
songs there too, but man, that one specifically really spoke
to me and a lot of people.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
Do God Bless the radio.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
Yeah that that that was such a such a cool
tune video. Yeah, that's exactly right. We did shoot that video.

Speaker 15 (18:47):
We shocked the video at w SM towers. So it
is a very very historical to us. You know, my dad, uh,
he listened to w SM all the time growing up,
and we listened to WSM. We still listen to w
SM now, you know what I mean, you can't. It's
just something about hearing them good classic country songs and

(19:10):
you know what, we would always listen to the likes
of Keith Bill Breed and we now listen to Bill
Cody bring them music to life right there.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
To the living room, you know.

Speaker 15 (19:19):
So it's just something about and including Eddie Stubbs right,
you know, so he is a historical just a historical
guy icon himself exactly. So it's just something about that
song that that that we love as well.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
So we wouldn't be where I've waiting for the radio
DJs and the people spending the record.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
So it's a pretty important song to us too. Yeah,
I appreciate that you know, I love the sights and sounds. EP.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
This is back in the twenty twenty one. I think
it was in my third year of doing the radio
show here too. But ain't a woman like a River?
And if there wasn't a country song, I say Country's
corn bread?

Speaker 8 (19:58):
That was it?

Speaker 3 (19:58):
Right?

Speaker 1 (19:59):
That one.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
We was blessed that one went number one for us
and uh uh on the country independent charts. I feel
super super blessed about that. It's a killer song. Not
a song that Chad wrote. And man, he wrote that
with a gentleman out of Texas and during the COVID lockdown,
so whenever when people were out there mileing their homes

(20:23):
and carrying on ched and this gentleman was on zoom
writing writing a song and talking about their wives. So, uh,
that song has got a pretty pretty substantial meaning to
it too, don't you.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Yeah, man, ask you guys a little bit about too,
a little bit about uh this trend nowt in in country.
You see the crossovers happening, a lot of the collaborations there,
uh with you know, Akon coming in now and of
course what Josh Ross has been able to do with
him and Gary lavaxa Rascal Flats, Luke Colms that do
it these at least collaborations. Uh you know, Lady Wilson
on Fire. Good time to be a band of even
a solo artist in this industry, right.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
Oh yeah for sure, Oh yeah, yeah. We think collaborations
are pretty important. They have been an our career anyhow,
you know, so, yeah for sure.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
What about this female class right now to every say,
every dog has it today, no doubt about it. But
looking back at it too, man, just a female class
with Laney. Well, she's been doing these major award shows
and then you look at all the talent right behind
her too. That's about time the ladies kind of get
that due diligence, right.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
Oh without a killing it right now? She is killing it, son,
let me tell you.

Speaker 6 (21:34):
She is.

Speaker 4 (21:35):
We love us and Bell.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Bottoms, yes, some Bell Bottom country there too. At the
same time, Hey, I go back with you guys even
before we started this show on the mind of a
Traveler record too, and uh fifty nine Apache was one
of my favorite songs off of there too. At the
same time, and then uh pictures on my Wall talk
about just the best recollection memories of that particular record.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
Well, listen that fifty nine A Patches. That's one of
my favorites as well, especially from that collection I had.
I actually had a nineteen fifty nine Apache, and my
wife informed me, and this has been of course, this
is this has been six six and a half years ago.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
I had.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
My wife told me that I had to sell my
fifty nine Apache and I was like, well, what, why,
Why am I gonna have to sell this baby?

Speaker 15 (22:23):
Why?

Speaker 1 (22:23):
Happy life, happy wife, Happy life. She says, well, you're
getting ready to be a daddy the number four sons,
so you're gonna have to sell the old fifty nine Apache.
So every time I looked up and look at my
four son, I just kind of think of that baby
Koreans a little bit. He grab me by the cheek,

(22:44):
and I think, man, that fifty nine A Patchy. Oh boy.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
I definitely that song that brings back the right me. Hey,
I love this one because it makes you really it
puts life and perspective back to the record. Every dog
has its day, but beauty amongst the trees, and really,
you you stop for a moment, you think about life,
and you start going, you know, we're worried about all
this materialistic stuff. But when I listen to that one too.
It makes me think of the outdoors and think of

(23:09):
just that paint the picture. What y'all did successfully with
that song.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Yeah, I think. Well this last this last weekend, we
we actually went on a side beside right in the
back roads of Hickman County, and that that sound come
to my mind too. I was just thinking about the
beauty that lies right before our eyes. But we tend
to forget that because our eyes are glued to these phones,

(23:33):
you know what I mean. We lose perspective of just
life and grateful for the things that God has given
us right before our eyes, as opposed to just letting
it slip by, you know. So that's kind of what
That song has a lot of meaning to all three
of us.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
We don't play live without doing that. Most of the
play that song.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
Matter of fact, our agent told us just says, you
do not play live without doing that song. You have
to play that song. Uh yeah, that we We love
doing that, so doing it live, you know.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
Love it.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
What's the tour schedule looking like over these next few
months and no summertime. A lot of artists and bands
are touring, and of course people find it out out
there flat riverband dot com.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Right, yes, for sure, we're at Flat riverband dot Com
on all social platforms. It's hard for me to keep
up with all the social platforms, but we're on there
by golly. But we're headed to uh, let's see where
are we. We're heaving Tennessee State Fair. We're doing in
August with Ty Herding. Yeah, Jamie O'Neill looking forward to that.

(24:36):
And we're doing a festival in Fairview, Tennessee in September.
It's released the Hounds Festival, and then we are opening
up for the Lovely Lord Morgan and Pam Tillis in
September as well in Jefferson City, Missouri. Then the boys
and I were jumping on a big old ship with
a bunch of other country artists and we're gonna do

(24:58):
a country cruising that's gonna be phenomenal.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
For sure, Great Trace Atkins.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
Uh, Clay Clay Walker, Low Cash, Hockey talk Yeah, and
then Graig Campbell. Uh. So we're looking forward to that
boomtown things.

Speaker 15 (25:15):
And uh.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
Then then we're the the brothers and I headed down
back down to Texas and we're gonna do a uh
do a run down there in Texas and when we
get back back from that. So yeah, we got a
kind of a kind of steady schedule, you know. And uh,
the brothers and I just love getting on the road,
you know, and uh bringing the three part harmony that

(25:37):
just peel the paint off where we go. So that's
what we're all about.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
I love that expression yet feel the paint office. That's
what you guys do. Love it when you come through Texas.
You got a text me, so I get out to
a show, you know that for sure?

Speaker 1 (25:49):
First here we will, brother.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
I'm coming down there to see you guys play again.
Leaving Louisiana in the broad daylight. I've done that before too,
featuring the Oldridge Boys, Flat River Band, across all the
dsp he's out there. I let's have a little fun
as we close it up today.

Speaker 14 (26:02):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
I was there for CMA Fest for the second year,
and man again, no shortage of food when it comes
to Nashville, Tennessee. I went over to Germantown three one
two Pizza, which was really kind of a deep dish style,
like I love like just pizza in general, but I
wasn't really a fan of deep dish when I tried
that my perspective changed. And then we went down just
off of Broadway there too, and we got the sixth

(26:23):
floor diner.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
I guess it was.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
Went up there and had a good good time there too.
Where do you guys some new spots? Give me some
new spots where you like to eat?

Speaker 3 (26:30):
Listen.

Speaker 4 (26:30):
I don't know these a new spots or not, but
I wouldn't recommend anybody coming.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
To Nasha without going to hatty Bee's Chicken.

Speaker 4 (26:36):
You don't eat hatty bee chicken. You gotta have some
hatty Bees hot chicken. Yeah, Uh, Hattie Bee's Chicken. If
you're in defined dining, I recommend uh catbird seat. Uh
that's super expensive. You have to say, for a couple
of months you go there, it's a great place.

Speaker 6 (26:58):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
Where do you? Where do you? What's your go to?

Speaker 1 (27:00):
Chad, there's a place in West and Nashville called I
just ate a well of a burger burger my my
brother actually recommended.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
It to me.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
Yeah, really good. So with the bread with bread.

Speaker 3 (27:21):
Gotta have those carbs, no doubt about it.

Speaker 15 (27:23):
It was a low carb die.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
I am on a low carved.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
Like I said, I've been losing weight too. And watch
the carbs, but it's a low carb top deal, but
you know what, hey, sometimes you got to have one too.
I actually went over to caught my Sounds game there
when I was there this year, and Wallpark, I'm trying
to remember it right across from it too. There was
a pizza place that we tried there. It was kind
of the Napolietano Pizza. And then there was another kind
of Irish pub that was there too. Had a burger
there was actually pretty good too.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
So yeah, yeah, I've been to Sounds game. That's a
lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
Yeah, oh there are there are, no doubt too. And
I actually went to the first Preds game this year
during the CRS. Me and a buddy got out there
too to kind of enjoy that too. So I know,
I'm not really a big hockey fan, but I can
go watch it, uh live. You all enjoy the Preds games,
Oh yeah, yeah, it's all hockey.

Speaker 4 (28:06):
If it's a Blues, if it's a Tailist Blues or
Taylor's Blues or National Predators.

Speaker 3 (28:12):
