Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey y'all, it's Nashville recording artist Ian Flanagan and you're
listening to the Backstage Past podcast exclusively on kkt C
True Country ninety nine to nine in Tawst, New Mexico.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
And welcome inside the Backstage Pass.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
Always a busy week and again, Happy New Year to
everybody out there here KKTC True Country ninety nine point
nine in tast in Mexico. Heart, it's cold out there.
It's cold all over the country. If you're skiing out there,
to turn us on. And now we're in dry time
out there too. KKTC True Country ninety nine point nine,
The new show time without five to six Mountain Standard time.
Every day we feature a new artist out there too,
and of course one of my buddies. We got to

(00:34):
do this and IM prompt you. But it's good to
have you back here because new single Evergreen, it's cross
all those digital streaming platforms out there. To my buddy
flumbling on the voice the Ian Flanagan to the show.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
What's up, my friend, hey man, thank you so much
for having me back today.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Hey brother, good to have you too well today. What
you know New Year's resolutions, Let's start with these before
we dive into all the music and collect all the
good information out there too. What New Year's resolutions have
you made via the family and the Ian Fleah again
music side of things.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Give me some of those.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Oh my gosh, yeah, New Year's resolutions twenty twenty five.
I am a brand new dad. I got six month
old twin girls right now. So my main New Year's
resolution is just to be the best dad I can
and kind of figure this whole thing out. And on
the music side, my resolution is just, you know, consistently

(01:23):
be making some of the best stuff I can every
day and getting out on the road seeing people and
hanging out and meeting some great people out there.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
You know, talk to me about this rioting and that
you've been on ever since coming off that show. You know,
love the Voice and did a great job on there
with a great selection of tunes, and you know, making
a name for yourself and getting your stuff out there
worldwide to the country and things like that. I love
that show, and I love the fact that season twenty six,
twenty seven whatever they're about to go into now, because
I really feel like the coaches on that really provide

(01:51):
that landscape and that kind of that that platform for
you guys to really stand on and really direct you
guys to kind of start this thing called a music
career and teach you all about different sides of the
business beside just singing. Talk about that and what you
learn there too. I know we've talked about that, but
for the fans that may not have heard our past
interviews here on the show, talk about just what that
show did for you and kind of the platform of

(02:11):
creative Before.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
The Voice, I've been touring independently for years, and you know,
there's kind of a blatateau that you hit when you're
you know, just really independent and you think that you
can kind of learn it all, but it's so much
and when you go into a show like The Voice,
it's really just such a huge learning experience.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
You know.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
One of my favorite things about that show was was
kind of the camaraderie that the coach has built with you.
You know, everybody's there to see you succeed. Nobody's trying
to have any like bloop or reels. Everybody really is
just trying to get you to be the best that
you can be. And you learn so much about the
behind the scenes stuff, whether it's show production, timing, or
just the rehearsals with like this world class band, or

(02:51):
how to rearrange songs for your key and how to
deliver something on the stage versus like a bar. Things
like that that you really just can't learned until you
get that experience. You know, it's like a job where
they need ten years experience and you can't get it.
So it's one of those things where it's really just
like a beautiful learning, learning opportunity. So but after the show,

(03:14):
I mean, I've really got to work with Reviver Entertainment Group.
You know, they signed me and we did a song,
and I mean, speaking to what you just said about
the coaches kind of following through after I mean, I
was on Blake's team the entire time of season nineteen,
and after the show, he was kind enough to, you know,
jump on one of my own songs that we released,
and it was a song called grow Up, and he

(03:35):
featured on it, and he didn't have to do that.
You know, Blake is one of the best guys out there,
and I think that everybody there just really wants to,
you know, elevate artists, give them the knowledge that they
need to take the next step and then see them.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Succeed, you know, and you mentioned that too, because they
teach you what you need to know.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
And of course when you get off that thing, people
say the real work begins when you get off the platform,
likely two at the same time, because you understand what
the business part of it is. I read a book
a while back and I still have it here somewhere.
It's like everything you need to know about the music business,
and I just wanted to read it from cover to
cover to make sure that there's so many things.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
And that's the things.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
My point is, fans may not see this, the promotions,
the marketing, the social media work. I mean, it's more
than just singing, you guys, going in there and recording
a song, working with producers, picking the right producers for
a record, going out on the road to play support acts,
touring and stuff like that. Just talk to the fans about,
you know, going through the trials and tribulations and maybe
some of the things that fans don't see out there

(04:29):
too when you guys, cause it's more than just a
name and started right.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Oh my gosh, yeah, I mean, we're all in this
because there is just something inside you that there's nothing
else that you can do. You know, it's a passion,
it's a whole lifestyle and writing music being an artist.
None of it begins trying to get a huge platform
or try to be famous. It all starts from just
needing to connect with people or share something, get something

(04:53):
out of you artistically that you can't necessarily express. And
then you come to this where where you've got to
pay bills and have a life and you know, try
to make a career. And that's where you know, you
got to get pretty savvy because it's not very intuitive
to artist to be on social media and market yourself
and treat yourself like a brand. You know, I had

(05:15):
a hard hard time in my life because one, I
just don't like pictures of myself. I don't like talking
about my stuff all the time. You know, I'm an artist.
I just want to make songs and tour. But there's
all this stuff that goes along with this new music
business era about putting yourself out there that you know,

(05:35):
you do need guidance on and you have to do it.
You got to be a part of it, you know.
And I think what people don't really see is is
probably the hustle behind even one show, getting a group
of musicians together, organizing it, travel, you know, paying for
the back lines, getting everybody there on time, and getting
the sets rehearsed, and just really all that work that

(05:58):
goes into that forty to ninety minutes, you know, And
that's where that's kind of the beauty of it, because
you don't want anybody to think about anything else except
that they're having a good time. And that's that's the
magic that we're trying to do on stage.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
You know, Yeah, I do, because they've been in a
lot of them too, no doubt. Hope to get so
many more in twenty twenty five, some of those live
shows out there. What I love about this too, you
mentioned is the fans will buy the tickets. The fans
will go out there and do what they have to
do to buy the merch And that's a key thing
because that's really how you guys make a living out
there too, because I know streaming doesn't do a ton
of anything out there for an artists today. When it
comes to streaming, you love it when you get a
little mailbox money, but touring is the life, and couring

(06:31):
is something that I'm glad you guys are back on
the road, talk about I guess for what you can
dates that have been announced, maybe announced what's upcoming, because
I know you're looking to catch on with some tours.
Maybe do your own thing out there, support act type
stuff and open for some of these big names, because man,
there are a lot of artists out there, and country
music is at the top of its game right now.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Right our country music, I mean, it's awesome and it
is full of talent right now. And you know, the
thing is, we're here for the fans, We're here for people.
We're here to make people feel good, and that's the
whole thing. So getting out on the road is the
whole point of this. And you know, for me, I'm
working with an organization right now called Hope Rocks that

(07:13):
helps destigmatize like mental illness and addiction and tries to
get people into a better spot, whether that's helping them
get jobs or helping them get into a rehab facility
and everything in between. So I've been working with them
for a few years. So next week I'm doing one
of their shows up in New York, and after that,
the next day I'm actually flying out to Houston to

(07:34):
meet up with some of my buddies at this private
show for Barbecue Cookoff. Every year they do this bits
and bites thing. It's epic. And after that, you know,
I'm taking a break to put out this record that
I've been working on, and as soon as March comes,
we got about. We're working about fifteen dates right now,
but we're starting from the north all the way from

(07:54):
New York all the way down to Florida. We're gonna
be starting at Darrel's house in Pauling, New York, couple
of their hits up there. We'll be hitting Charleston, we'll
be hitting Augusta, and then down in Florida. And we're
doing a writer's round tour this time. So it's gonna
be myself, Jim Ranger, who is also on the same
season nineteen as me. He beat me, not because he cheated,

(08:16):
but he's very talented. But we're hitting the road with
Jim Ranger and Randall Fowler and we're going to be
doing the Southbound Writers Round and just bringing a bunch
of stories and doing one of my favorite kind of performances,
which is just intimate acoustic storytelling.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
I love that acoustic storytelling. Man it's where it's at,
no doubt about it too again, Ian Flannagan Here the
Backstage Past, powered by the Sports Guys podcast dot com
exclusive KKTC Truth Country not a nine point nine we

All right, my friend, we got to talk about it.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
The man my mama raised, what a title for country
saw and your your spend was fantastic.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
Give me a little backstory on this.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
Oh thanks, man, you know I would I've been working
really really closely with producer John Stone on this on
this whole record, And you know, last year it was
just it was a crazy year for me. My mother,
you know, she got she got sick and sadly passed away,
and you know, a couple of weeks later we find
out that we're pregnant with twins, and life was just

(13:50):
just so intense, and I really dove into writing as
much as I could. And the man my Mama raise
kind of came out of this experience. And you know,
I couldn't have loved my mother anymore. She was literally
the best human on the planet. But this song, it's
it's for her, but it's also a reminder to always

(14:12):
try to be the best version of yourself, you know.
And she was one of those women that always just
just put you right back in line, you know, always
had like the classic best advice, just super sweet.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
So this song is really just a reminder to myself
a lot to try to be the best man. I
can I say what that be congratulations on that. I
was gonna say a great time with those twins. Because
I'm now dad of a five year old too, about
to go into kindergarten. I remember those early days when
it was like sleepless nights and you wake up and
you feed in what I call the chicken nuggets.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
It was like the formula stuff. It was just instant
to put the top on it, shake it up, and
oh yeah, how's big?

Speaker 3 (14:48):
And a dad changed you. I know for me, at
the beginning, you're just like, why did I do this?
And now that she's trying to know what the best
thing I ever did?

Speaker 1 (14:55):
Right? Oh my gosh. Yeah. My wife, Kelsey and I
we look at each other at least once a day
like we're getting through it. Don't worry, we got this.
Being the dad has changed. I'm just reprioritizing, you know,
I think thing. It has been really really good for
me to slow down a little bit, you know, and
just you know, feed the chicken nuggets like you're talking about.

(15:17):
But besides the sleep deprivation, it's been really rewarding. You know,
we're watching them now at six months kind of becoming
little people personalities. You know, it's like it's starting to
happen and they're starting to crawl a little bit, and
it's like, oh god, we got a baby group this
whole house. But really, for me, it's just been really
good to reprioritize, you know, and just like, you know,

(15:37):
take the career, go as hard as you can, but
make time for the kids that are going to be
there for the rest of your life. That you know,
A song comes out every six to eight weeks these days,
and like it's nice to nice to just sit back
and be like, hey, this is a for everything.

Speaker 9 (15:54):
You know.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
Music. Music has been my entire life since I was seventeen,
nothing else, And it's like just nice that my wife
and I can kind of sit down and just take
it a little slow sometimes.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
We all need that.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
Brother at R and R two, we just got some
to Christmas holidays. I took them about fifteen sixteen days
off from the show and it was good to get
back at it too. But I didn't miss it. Those
that downtime crazy Oh yeah, man. Yeah, balance balance in live,
you know, and sure's balanced, no doubt about it too.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Hey.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
For I play the new single Evergreen across all the
digital streaming platforms out there where you guys download the
stream music. Make sure go check it out. Came out
here in January too as well, so make sure you
guys go stream that. To get those streams up, I
got to revisit an album we probably talked about. I'm
sure we did if you were around there. Country Radio
Seminar twenty twenty two Strong when it came out too.
Loved the album, Love the work that went into this,

(16:46):
the producers. I believe it was September of twenty twenty
two when you guys have put that out. Don't ask
me why I remember that.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
I just haven't. It was I remember out there too,
and for doing a lot of shows and things like that.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
But I love this album. I love the fact that
you mentioned the one Blake is on there too. But
Matt Strong, it's a really cool things for you guys
on the streaming, So I talk about that and just
the body of work on the outbum.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
Oh my gosh. Yeah, that record was such a whirlwind
for me. I had gotten off the voice, just did
a single with Blake, was writing and writing and writing
in Nashville, and I've been just touring full time on
the road for a couple of years before that, and
that was another slowdown moment where I got to Nashville
and just started writing. It was my first real experience

(17:27):
with co writing in a regular basis. I had always
kind of written my own stuff, and as soon as
you kind of get into that Nashville co writing system,
you know, you just churned out so much music, and
the musicianship in the studios is like really next level.
So for me it was a really another learning experience,
you know. I kind of I spoke my mind as

(17:49):
much as I could. I played a lot, and I
just tried to learn from all these greats that we
had on this record. I'm really proud of the work.
I can't believe it's already been a couple of years
because I couldn't remember going in the studio like it
was yesterday. But yeah, all these songs very meaningful and
just a lot of work, a lot of great advice
from producers and in years, you know, like Craig Alvin,

(18:09):
I mean, working with these guys, Todd Lombardo, like it's
just it's just crazy. So I just try to stay
really grateful and try to take the best parts of
everything I learned into the next record.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
That's it, no doubt about it too. I love the
background noise there too. But you can tell can you
hear the babies? You hear the babies go down? And
I'll tell you what the futurely could be talented there
with some music in a DNA and make Dad some
money too with his music careers.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
That's right, I'm gonna need them to be streaming by
twenty twenty seven.

Speaker 4 (18:40):
You never know.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
I got minded piano lessons now. It took a couple
of years for that, but there you go. She might
catch all be a keyboard player one day. You just
never never know.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Out there, I'll tell you what.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
Here's a song we got to play, the new single
Ian Flannagan music dot com for more information out there too,
And of course it's called Evergreen. Here it is from
Ian Flannagan, KKTC True Country ninety nine point nine, coming
back in the flash thinker, there's new.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
Young ways that I could tell just how I feel,
show a petty doors step, holding the every flower in
the feet.

Speaker 10 (19:31):
I could tell you every way he had love you
till I die. Right now, I got one thing on
my mind.

Speaker 7 (19:43):
How did I get you out of that church?

Speaker 6 (19:45):
Suffered my mind.

Speaker 10 (19:47):
And in my bed you got it will hind me,
always have the hide in me, Skip the ladder over
the stone.

Speaker 11 (19:57):
All of these years, honey out, no seasons fair between
beloving you. Savathy from a chance on the summer, the
night to let's call in a bottle of wine, some set,

(20:19):
the break of dawn, strangers to all I live.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
I want that kiss to the ring you were from
me to you.

Speaker 10 (20:29):
I swear I'll always hold you down, always think about
how to get you out of that change somefing my mind,
dad in my bed in Goody would I need always
have the hiding me is keep the latter.

Speaker 7 (20:49):

Speaker 11 (20:51):
All of these years, honey, I know seasons fare between
beloving you savay.

Speaker 7 (21:05):
Ever agreed?

Speaker 11 (21:12):
And I love you.

Speaker 6 (21:14):
More than yesterday.

Speaker 10 (21:18):
There's nothing more than I can say.

Speaker 6 (21:25):
So why don't read get you out of that trench?

Speaker 10 (21:32):
Suffer my mind? Head in my bed, you got well?
I need always head the harding me.

Speaker 6 (21:42):
Just keep the latter, read the stuff.

Speaker 11 (21:44):

beloving you, save agreed.

Speaker 6 (21:58):
Ever agreed.

Now to out there here on the Backstage Past, powered
by the Sportscots podcast dot Com. A grand slam of
music and sports out there too. Speaking of music out there,
Evergreen Ian flannek in here, let's dive into this one,
my friend, because the raspiness in your voice, that slow
build up to that chorus. Loved everything about it.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
Man, Oh thank you man. Yeah, I'm actually trying to
sing as clear as I can all the time. It's
just shot. I'm just kidding. But this was actually a
really fun one for me because I recorded it all
from my home studio. It was one of the first
songs I ever did, so I played mostly everything on it.
And I wanted to produce this song because I wrote

(23:51):
it for my wife after we got married out in
Colorado where we met this last year. This is really personal,
so I wanted to keep it all as personal as possible.
So I wrote it, played all the instruments had by
Buddy Justin Whipped on drums and Chris Bowers on pedal
steele and that was it. And you know, I just
really wanted to make it a heartfelt love song because
my wife, she puts up with me, and that's just

(24:11):
a whole the whole world of its own, really, so
I was really happy with the way it came out
and because she liked it, so that's all I was
going for.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
That's all they put up with us, It's what they
signed it for.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
When we signed instritios to get right to the marriage
license eternity, and my mind does too. She she cast
in some chips with me to do this thing here.
In the first couple of years, I'm like, you know,
I don't know. That didn't last two three years. You're like, yeah,
gains losses. But she still puts up with me in
this whole radio show too. At the same time, back
to the record Strong and there was one I loved

(24:46):
off of there too. We talked about this probably a
CRS in the past in Nashville when I was doing
my show live from there, doubling my hands. This was man,
This resonated with me. And I tell you what, man,
We've all had that close encounter with certain things in
our life. Were like talk to our self and doubt
certain things. You're like, okay, should I I don't want
to say use the term turn to the dark side,
But this song will make you when you listen to it,

(25:08):
you can resonate with it because we've all been there,
right Oh.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
Yeah, I mean you know you gotta It's like you said,
everybody's got a light side on the dark side, and uh,
you know it's for me. I wrote it because back
in the day. I mean, I haven't had a drink
of alcohol in almost ten years now. I stopped drinking
a long time ago. And for me, I wrote this
song about my kind of my wrestle with my evictions

(25:32):
in life. And you know, at that time, I was
living down in Silberton, Georgia and.

Speaker 13 (25:37):
Just just not doing I was not listening to my
mother back in the day, you know, And so the
Devil in My Hands is really just it's one of
those things where it's like when you when you're in
those moments in life, it's like you know where you
want to be, you know the quality that you want
to be, and then uh.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
You know, you got to fight fight that off sometimes.
So that's what that song is about for me.

Speaker 3 (26:00):
Love it great song out there, of course, all the
songs available for the digital streaming out there too. I
love another one you put out there too, was hey
we all need a little drink and help me drink
this wine. And I'm like you too, I don't drink
anymore too, but hey, you know what, all right, I'll
take that back. Occasionally I gotta tell the audience a
little bit of wine is not bad. But the songs, oh,
thank you man, one of my favorites off the record.

(26:22):
I actually, you know, I had COVID when I sang that,
and I'm so raspy naturally, you can't even tell. So
it was one of those songs that's that I just
really love the vibe.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
And even though I don't drink, one of my favorite
things is drinking song because I love everybody having a
good time. I know, it's really one of those things
that just brings people together. And not that I celebrate it,
but it's just one of those things where for me,
I live my life, everybody lives their life, and I
just want to bring people together and make them feel good. Man.

Speaker 3 (26:51):
You know, And I'll tell you this, man, before I
get into little sports conversation with you. I love the
fact this because now we're like I have my home
studio here just like you do, and I love being
in it when I get to work and put put
together these radio shows here in Texas. But I love
the song that you did called Home, Sweet Home. I
think the rendition was fantastic. All that record, and that's
where the magic happens. People all see it. You don't
have to really go to a studio. We make something

(27:11):
come out you have Home Sweet Home, and there's just
more things beside a career that I appreciate. But it's
like being at home because I love my house.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
I do yeah, Home sweet Home. I know everybody's got
those stories of like, oh, I sat down and wrote
this song in ten minutes, you know, and others take
a year to write Home Sweet Home. I wrote in
about fifteen minutes sitting at a table, and it was
just one of those quick little songs that turned into
something really really cool in the studio. And it just,
you know, it's just a very simple message, just like

(27:40):
you said, you know, it's just about the simple things.
Home Sweet Home. And I'm really grateful because it just
got it just got in. It just got a sink
in home, what was it? It just got picked up.
I'm very excited about it. So, I mean, Home Sweet
Home is probably one of my favorite songs off of

(28:00):
that record. Nobody brings up, so I'm taking back, but
thank you so much. Oh dude, I love like a
good chance to listen to meresic. That's what this thing
is all about. Here again, Ian Flan Again.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
The album is strong, and of course Evergreen is the
newest single across all those digital streaming platforms are I
have a little fun throw a most sports into it
for I guess what you get to watch because I'm
debating my predictions of this, uh knowing the show is
gonna come out, you know, like I said this coming
week and things like that too. Notre Dame, let's just
stick with this, no matter if they play Ohio State
and Texas. When it comes to this college football one,

(28:33):
I know you've got to be a college football fan.
I was watching it the other night when Notre Dame
has just had this run ever since, beating Indiana and
beating the teams they beat through this little run beating Georgia.
I know that's kind of one of those things where
it's like the Bulldogs actually lost. Still, I was like, Wow,
the chances you give this and this college football playoff?
Were you a fan of this twelve team college football playoff?
And if a few words you get to watch some.

Speaker 1 (28:54):
Of the games, what'd you think? So I'm going to
give you a sneak peek about my life here. Hold on,
I'm can give you no no, no. Here's the thing.
I am terrible with all sports. I don't watch much
any TV, but my wife is actually the biggest football

(29:17):
person in the world. She has worked for the Cowboys.
She has a podcast on football and yes, my wife,
so I could if I bring her up right now,
she will take the mic.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
For the you know what I'm and you know what.
We got to get her on the show anyway, probably
just to do a sports show with me.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
Yeah, oh, if you do. I mean she does one
all the time, so you guys would hit it off.
I am basically like just a no man living in
the forest. I don't even know if on TV right now,
but my wife would answer all that. What was the question?

Speaker 2 (29:45):
Aryl, We'll get some predictions here here on the show.
Let's do it. We'll take quick time out here too,
Pyson bills here on the show, and then we'll bring
her in. How's that do that?

Speaker 1 (29:53):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (29:53):
All right?

Speaker 3 (29:54):
Quick time out about twenty seconds. The Cayden Gordon Show
dot Com Today's best country mix. We'll talk about sports.
Coming right back here. It is KTC True Country ninety
nine point nine Stay two.

Speaker 9 (30:03):
The Caiden Gordon Show is a two hour show playing
the best in country music. So check it out at
the Candan Gordon Show dot Com. Again, that is the
Cadan Gordon Show dot com.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
But you and Flanning can hear the new single ever
Green across all the digital streaming platforms and we get
a chance to those sports seconds. So they said, his
wife had all the time Talk Sports has a podcast
and welcome in Glad.

Speaker 14 (30:28):
Thank you. Hey, this is a surprise, a good one.

Speaker 9 (30:30):
I love it.

Speaker 12 (30:31):
I'm always well, maybe not this season, but typically I'm
always down to talk Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
No, she'll take what you know. The NFL playoffs are set.
I know that Cowboys can keep your head coach Mike McCarthy.
The Bears wanted to speak to the permissions. I thought
Jerry Jones might just say bye, here's the door and
want to let it hit you on the way out.
But yeah, I was talking to you about just college
football in this twelve team playoff format, and of course
I was going to segue to the NFL talk. With
all these Super Walk Card weekend going on, give me

(30:56):
some predictions on I guess three things. One, how the
college football thing has played out with the twelve teams
so far. You please with it improve predictions for the
Handkerchip games in the Super Bowl.

Speaker 12 (31:08):
I mean, I'm personally okay, with the twelve format for
college football, I know it's different. I'm not a traditionalist,
so I guess that's the millennial take on the on
the new playoff format.

Speaker 14 (31:18):
I'm personally a Texas.

Speaker 12 (31:20):
Longhorns fan, so hopefully things go well for us here
in about you know, an hour or so. Prediction wise,
if I had to go transition over to NFL, gosh,
I mean, it's it's a tough one.

Speaker 14 (31:35):
You know, even when the Chiefs aren't good, they're still good.

Speaker 12 (31:37):
And I'm sorry, you could probably hear my children's free
in the background, so I apologize for that. But you know,
I'm one of those people that has been stuck in
the miserable NFC East for a whole hot minute, and
so I'm incredibly jaded and at this point, like I
feel like I just cheer for against teams, like I'm
like one of those people because I'm just so mad
that my team hasn't won in like thirty years.

Speaker 14 (31:59):
So it'd be unfair for me to give you like
a goold prediction.

Speaker 12 (32:04):
But if I really had to go and give you
like an idea of I don't know, they give me
Chiefs again just for the kicks.

Speaker 14 (32:11):
And giggles and like the Taylor Swift madness of it all.
And I'm sorry that.

Speaker 12 (32:14):
I know some people will absolutely hate me for that,
but that's okay because it creates a great news cycle.

Speaker 1 (32:21):
So at least we have that to talk about.

Speaker 3 (32:23):
Well, I'm gonna throw a little wild card out there,
in a little coin flip, I think, and You're right,
this has been the three out of five for Patrick
Mahomes from White House, Texas down here too, of course
played at Texas Tech.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
But I'm gonna throw a little s fin out there.
I was talking to somebody today, just the sports world.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
I like there's something sneaky about either the Buffalo Bills
finally getting the monkey off their back or yep, Troit
Lions not just losing the seventeen last year NFC title game,
lose to San Francisco San Francisco Kansas City super Bowl,
something about the way Detroit has played in the games
that I've watched this year. I'm not that I'm a
Lion fan by any I love Jared Goff, and I

(32:58):
love Dan Campbell, the hit coach.

Speaker 12 (33:00):
I love Dan Campbell and like he's such a player's
coach and the way he came in and just was like,
we're gonna bite the kneecaps off, and everyone's like, what
are you talking about? But you have this enthusiasm that
we all love so much. And so I love Dan Campbell.
I love what the Lions are doing. What a tortured
fan base like, that's such a redeeming quality if you
want to just pick a team to cheer for, just
for the sake of like picking a team. And then

(33:21):
Jared Goff talk about the Cinderella story getting traded for
Matthew Stafford and then being able to go and do
what he's done in Detroit, like we thought his career
was over because he had to leave La and then
you go to a place like Detroit where it's like,
oh all people, you know, players gonna die here. It's
kind of like the Cleveland Browns, like something with those
Northern teams minus the Bills these recent years at least, it.

Speaker 14 (33:42):
Just feels like it's like you're just being shipped off
to never never Land.

Speaker 12 (33:45):
So I love the Detroit Lions. I love their storyline.
I mean that the Cowboys. Again, my team didn't farewell
against them, but that's okay, because again it's it's it's
cool for their fan base.

Speaker 14 (33:56):
They deserve it.

Speaker 12 (33:56):
Buffalo Bill's same kind of thing, Josh Allen's magic, and
I really just think that that whole fan base also
deserves some victories.

Speaker 14 (34:05):
Plus they're insane and like the best most crazy way.

Speaker 12 (34:10):
Like this whole like jumping on tables things, their tailgates,
Like it's a bucket list thing for me to be
able to go to a tailgate.

Speaker 14 (34:15):
I don't know if I would person survived. I need
to attend for the sake of attending.

Speaker 2 (34:20):
I love that great answer there too.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
You love that.

Speaker 3 (34:22):
I gotta get the nigh of your podcast where people
can find it from yeah podcast, I'm throwing it outter
two because you and I and she's convinced me she's
going back and we're just gonna do a sports Oh you.

Speaker 1 (34:31):
Got it, man, that's the thing we're that's on. We
do it all the sports. All that stuff is in
the way.

Speaker 10 (34:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (34:38):
Well, I was on sp Nation for a hot man
and we've switched over to YouTube so it's girls talking boys.

Speaker 14 (34:44):
You can follow me if you like to scream in
all caps on Twitter.

Speaker 12 (34:47):

even though my last name is planning again, so sorry everyone,
I am married to this man, but I don't reflect
that in my user names. But yeah, we should totally chat.
And I love the Chicago Bears. One Madams is amazing.
He coached for us at the Cowboys for a while.

Speaker 14 (35:04):
He's ring back this coaching.

Speaker 12 (35:06):
You know, obviously he didn't pain out for him, but
he'll have a he'll have a soft landing and show.

Speaker 14 (35:10):
But totally, let's chat next time. We should do this again.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
I got an idea, Kelsey.

Speaker 3 (35:14):
So if I get a chance to go to the
country radio seminar and and seeing me there before at
the Omni, if you've come down with him in the hotel,
Oh yeah, courts show live at the Omni Hotel in
my booth there, how's that?

Speaker 14 (35:24):

Speaker 14 (35:27):

you'll be upset about that house.

Speaker 14 (35:36):

couldn't say this stuff. I'm just gonna get.
