Love this guy so much we had to have him
on to Superstar breaking out in country music, a new
(01:03):
album call Where to Find Me across all the DSPs,
Jay Webb and the program Jay What's up Man?
Speaker 1 (01:08):
What's up?
Speaker 3 (01:08):
Man?
Speaker 1 (01:08):
I appreciate those nice words, Dude. I'm excited to be
on here. Man.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Appreciate you being here, Brother Waite. Tell us a little
bit about you, because I know a little bit about
the story. But for the fans listers out there, you know,
in the Bay Area and of course all over the
country out there too is We're in twenty seven countries
worldwide and may not know Jay Webb, the artists. I
want to make that connection to the fans out there.
I know you do with the music as well. Talk
about just the background, the upbringing and that connection to
music from an early age.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
Yeah, Man, I grew up in Alabama in a really
small town, kind of bounced back and forth between my
divorced parents households, had a really financially tough upbringing and
a lot of hard times and everything that kind of
drew me into making music and writing songs about those things.
And apparently there's a lot of people out there that
can relate. So kind of worked really hard for a
(01:57):
really long time and somehow ended up doing this thing
full time in twenty twenty two, so been at it
ever since, just going on the road and getting after it.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Man, you know, what's it like in Nashville. A lot
of people say, you know, they kind of give up
the day job, don't want to work in nine to five.
And then some people say, hey, we got to do
a little bit of both. And then some people kind
of you know, chase it from who knows tim they
turn eighteen nineteen, don't finish high school, some go to college,
that kind of thing, and then kind of, you know,
kind of Nashville comes up on them. They get there
and they realize how tough this business is. Talk about that,
(02:27):
I guess the first time you arrived there too. In
you know, I say, twain Town music down out there too,
and kind of some of the things that I guess
the challenges you kind of faced going there for the
first time.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Yeah, Nashville, to me, I feel like things have changed
so much in the in the industry in the past
few years. To me, Nashville was like last resort. I
wanted to stay in Alabama as long as I could, because,
you know, it was way cheaper living there, and so
I stayed there and just made music in my in
my house in Alabama, and then finally ended up moving
up to Nashville kind of when things picked up and
(02:58):
I felt like I really didn't have a choice. Ended
up being up there like most of every week, just
back and forth in it and started writing with more
people and everything. So for me, I never really had
to struggle in Nashville. My struggle was back in Alabama
with the day job and the music and trying to
go back and forth. And luckily, I've been with my
wife since I was in the ninth grade, so she
helped me out a lot. Really believed in me, so
(03:20):
I was able to just head down work. I feel
like I ditched all my friends and family for like
ten years and just went at it and then now
kind of suck my head out the door, like, YEO,
what's up? Things are all right now?
Speaker 4 (03:31):
You know.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
That's pretty cool, man. I guess it was a loved
first sight, right since the ninth grade.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Dude love first sight, I think, I mean for me,
it was definitely for her. I think it took me
about a year being friends with her to kind of
like warm her up to the idea of dating. So yeah,
but I think we both fell in love pretty quick
and just like it all worked out. Man, She's my
very first kiss. Is my wife still so pretty cool?
Speaker 2 (03:57):
True love first sight right there too, no doubt I
love that too. It's a great story and you got
to have like a good woman in your corner, man.
That makes for everything writing life right.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Yeah, absolutely, dude. If it wasn't for her, I truly
don't know where I would be. It would not be
right here though, I promise you, dude, Like I would
have given it a long time ago. And I don't
know what she saw in that early music either, but
she saw something.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
I'll tell you what. It's resonating the sound this new record.
Talking about this before we play a couple of tracks
off of here too, where it finally just came out
July twenty fifth, across all the DSPs, the making of
this record for you, real life stories man. It's speaking
to the public out there, the songs resonating with the fans.
I mean, the lyrics to me really were something I
felt too as a part of my growing up, my childhood.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Talking about that from me, yeah, it is that, like
I always say, just in the music in at the
shows too. I always feel like the listeners are kind
of like friends of mine. Like it seems like the
people that it resonates with just feel like somebody back
home at a cookout or something, and it's really laid back.
It's people that have been through real stuff in their life,
and just the stories and the song songs are just
(05:01):
you know, they're so real to me that I feel like,
hell enough people out there can relate. Man, I feel
very blessed to have them listening.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
We're gonna play that one too, and it's also the
title track off the record. J Webb here on the
backstage pass where to find Me. We'll talk about that
coming back here on the show. Here again, kyb in

He we appreciate all the work the sponsors do here
back on the Backstage Pass of Brandon Morel here with
Jay Webb joining us here Where to find me? That
title track off the Current Record came out July twenty fifth,
here the Sports Guys podcast dot com and of course
our friends KYB in ninety eight point one year pay
Area Broadcasting Network. Man, I always say you know a
great song. We talked about this resonating with fans of
telling stories but this one. Man had to be really
(11:27):
cool to choose this as the title track of course
for the record and put it as number one on
this album, right, Oh.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
Dude, it was so cool.
Speaker 6 (11:33):
Man.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
Out of all of the songs on the record, it
was really hard to pick, but that one just sounds like, dude,
where to Find Me? What a cool album name and
tour name and stuff. You know, it was an easy pig.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
Talk about the writing and a little backstory. How did
this one come together?
Speaker 14 (11:47):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Yeah, I think we made it in a day like
we usually do, win in a studio and just bounced
around ideas. And originally I think I was thinking of
making like a really country Backwoods type song out of
Where to Find Me, like something about like you know,
backing the sticks, almost like stone ended up being uh,
but it ended up taking a turn for like almost
(12:08):
like a breakup anthem. So yeah, fans love I.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
Will tell you this man. I had to Brandley Gilbert
on the show a couple of times over the last
couple of years. It kind of had that kicking in
the sticks feel to.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
Me, right yeah, same, yeah, I love that stuff, dude.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Old school and I had a college mcconcer last year.
I'm gonnall you. I got to come see one of
your shows because if it's similar to what he's done,
I know it be yeah show. How's the tour going,
and speaking of that building around the word to find
Me tour, talking about this and I know the fans
are poured out right, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
They're coming out.
Speaker 4 (12:35):
Man.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
We're in Sacramento, California right now, just waiting. It's we
flew in. It's hard to remember. The names were just Sacramento,
San Diego, San Francisco.
Speaker 12 (12:44):
You know.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
I kept calling it San Francisco and I was like,
where are we right now? But yeah, we're in Sacramento
today and just kind of going down the state of
California this weekend. So it should be awesome. Man, they
are showing up.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
I love it too. It's great. The fans are coming
out there too. Beer before Liquor talk about.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
This one, Yeah, dude, Beer before Liquor. Kind of redneck,
backwoods anthem. I had to put it on there. One
of my favorites, if not my second favorite, off the album.
Actually it's a it's an unexpected live banger. They go
crazy to that song even if they don't know it.
When we play it live and it just rocks the place.
Speaker 12 (13:18):
Man.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
Now you got this kind of mention that Brandley Gilbert
kind of vibe there too. But talk about just musical inspirations,
the country, anything rock growing up? What were you listening to?
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Yeah, growing up, I was listening to a lot of
old country. I was listening to Johnny Cash and George Jones,
whalan a lot of Hank Junior on my dad's side,
and he brought in also like kid rock and stuff too,
and probably kid rock was like my favorite growing up
besides like Johnny Cash. But yeah, man, just like I
think I went to a first like I mean, dude,
(13:49):
maybe a kid rock show when I was really young,
and I just thought, man, if that ain't what I
want to do, I don't know what the hell is man. Yeah,
you know.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
When you talk about a part of this business too,
but you guys mentioned there's so much that goes on
that called the music business. But I'll tell you, man,
it's crazy to see what's out there in this male
female category right now, Jay, because it is super talented
and saturated with so many great artists too. And I
know there's so many great tours going on right now.
But talk about just the health and the growth of
this industry right now between male and female artists. Man,
(14:20):
it is a really good profit falling.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
Right, Oh dude. Yeah, I think social media just got
it to where if you're good enough and you're writing
the songs, man like the cream rise to the top,
you know, I guess. I mean, I hear a lot
of people that are definitely way better singers than me
on TikTok and stuff that I'm like, how are you
not just absolutely blowing up right now? And I don't
know what it is. It might be the songs, that
(14:42):
might be the authenticity. I don't know, but it is
definitely the time if you want to do this, to
get in and try it.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
You know, don't do so lightheartedly, right, You're gonna go in. Man,
put both feet in the water, right, dude. I put
all feet in the water.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
Dude, I went in. I was like, there's no plan
B for me. I just always try to focus on
the songs.
Speaker 15 (15:00):
You know.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
That's what I love about Nashville is it's just songs first.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
And you know, I've seen many artists tell me that story.
You got to have a great song to be able
to make it in that town, right.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
Yeah, I mean that's what.
Speaker 13 (15:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Man, I remember writing a couple and I was like,
why are people gravitating towards these songs? And when I
go back and look at those lyrics, it was like, man,
if you could read that on a piece of paper
and gravitate towards it, then you pretty much can't mess
up if you had a good melody and good you
know music to it.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
I love drinking songs in country. I think everybody who's
out there, who's anybody doing it right now, has a
great drinking song or like I said, truck broke down
or all Got run over something like that too, or
just looking. But you've got one off this record Where
to Find Me called Drinking All Night. Let's get a
little backstory on that one.
Speaker 16 (15:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
It was a last minute ordeal we had. I was like,
I want ten songs on the album. Well rounded number
didn't feel like too much, you know. I wanted to
give just enough. And I was listening to Garth Brooks
on the way over there that morning and I was like, dude,
we need something like nineties country banger, you know, Like,
so we tried our best to do something like that
with Drinking all night and ended up just being like,
(16:01):
it's like the only one like that on the album.
But I thought it was cool to give a little twist.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
It really did too. We'll go back to what the
first record you put out. I loved it. Mama Tried.
So many great songs out for there really stood out
to me too. Cowboy Killers was one of my favorites
off there too, And of course we'll wash it down
talk about the highlights there looking back at that record too,
And I'm sure you guys get a lot of new
requests out there for the new stuff, but it's kind
of fun to play the stuff from the first album too,
(16:28):
right it is?
Speaker 1 (16:29):
Yeah, right now, I think we got about a fifty
to fifty mix with the old and new. Mama Tried
was something I made when I was still living back
in Alabama, and it was more like a country hip
hop type album.
Speaker 16 (16:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
I produced a lot of those myself and just wrote
them all myself, I believe, And we was just back then,
just trying to get something to go. And that album
did really well for me and it meant a lot
to me too. I had one called too Lane to
Heaven on there. It was about losing Somebody Dude and it. Yeah,
a lot of songs on that record.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
I really loved a lot of great record and a
lot of good stuff out there too. And I love
how you just pour your heart and soul into what
you put out there too. And you mentioned it too,
like I said, weather fans take it or not too.
There's always something for him out there too. But man,
this is a good storytelling some great music out there too,
especially that Cowboy Killers. I think that was something that
really just resonating with me and just really found out
what type of singer you were and what type of
talent out there.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
Again.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
The record is where to Find Me across all those
DSPs out there, and we get to play another one
right now too. If you guys love a little slow dancing,
we're gonna take you out there right now too, and
it's called love Me Tonight. Well, he puts particulars on
this song across all the DSPs out there too. It's
Jay Webb. Check you been out there, and make sure
you guys stream the album. It is the Sports Guys
podcast dot com and of course out there iHeartRadio podcast

one saying why this is that?

Speaker 21 (24:08):

show anytime on iHeartRadio podcast and at THHWN dot org.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
Yeah, make sure you guys, Dude, I'm about to be
on my third super rou two eight six, six three
two five seventy nine eighty two or JK Superu dot
com and my friends the Moral Law Firm. I'll give
them a caller text for free consultation. If you've been involved,
unfortunately in those eighteen wheelery commercial truck records out there,
you're in the top one percent of all lawyers having
tried to wear fifty cases to verdict one hundred percent
results seven one three four seven zero, four thousand and five.
(24:54):
Back here with Jay web the Backstage Pass. Where to
find me the current record across all the DSPs out
there there. So I mentioned this one too, about you know,
getting your lady on your like I said, the dance floor,
or getting her I guess at home after the dance floor,
after you take her out? Love me tonight.
Speaker 12 (25:08):
Man.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
This was a true and very much a country song
that I really enjoyed listening too, because, hey, it may
put a little romance back in a relationship, right.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
That's right, dude, it might just do it. That's what
I tell him every night. I'm like, y'all, grab whoever
you came here with, depending on who you came here with,
and get close. Man, let's do some.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
Love. The writing with this one. How did you come
up with this one? Was just I guess the wife
now soon you mentioned since the ninth grade you've been
and left it with the lady? Was this inspiration behind
this one?
Speaker 3 (25:38):
It was.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
It was a weird kind of set up for me.
And my buddy went in one night really late and
we started writing. He was just in this fresh new
relationship and we were trying to write one for him.
And as we started writing it, I said, hey, man,
I'm just gonna be honest with you. I'm writing this
song about my wife, and I feel like it should
come out through me about my wife, you know. And
he was like, yeah, man, you have it. It's just
(25:59):
this is your So it came very clear that it
was gonna be one that I dropped, and as soon
as I posted it, man, fans went crazy over it.
First kind of love song, I did you know.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
Hey, I love your album cover. I love talking about
album art two where you guys kind of shot at
that where you got the idea. I love it's got
the face right there too, and of course Scott, where
to find me with that kind of that black background.
Of course your name logo with the top. How did
you guys kind of come up with the album the
artwork and kind of where did it take place? And
talk about the people that made that possible.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
Yeah, man, actually my wife shot that picture. We were
just kind of we grabbed random pictures sometimes when we're
on the road and I forget where we were exactly,
but we went over a few and you know, everybody
always tries to push me to do the typical country
thing or whatever, and I always like to give them
something a little bit different and catch them off guard.
So I was like, it seems like it's a really
honest album and I wanted to cover just to be stripped,
(26:50):
no hat, my face up close, every poor every you know, whatever, wrinkle,
whatever we got going on here, just like let it
off show, you know, screw it, Let's just let it
off show. So I thought it represented the album pretty good.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
It did it justice, no doubt too. Hey, looking back, man,
you've accomplished a lot in your career too. But give
me some of those things where you see kind of
a five year projection here over the next five years,
some some plucket list things you want to accomplish in
this music business.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
Yeah, man, my bucket list wanted us to play the
bridge Stone Arena in Nashville. I think that'd be awesome.
I went to a show there in twenty sixteen and
I stood there and I told my mom that I
was going to sell it out one day, and I
remember not being able to afford nothing but McDonald's that
night when we left. I just graduated high school, and
it was like a weird time because it was like
I was looking for a job, didn't have a job,
(27:37):
you know, wasn't really do anything but making music. And
I remember telling her one day, I'm gonna sell this
place out. So that's top of the list. I'd love
to win a CMA Award, ACM Award, things like that.
We're giving it our very best shot. Dude, I just
want to do the thing.
Speaker 4 (27:51):
You know.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
Well, I'm with you, brother, and like I see you
right up there too in those horizon categories. So you
see how fast some of these great heart is some
exact tops blown up over the last year. Look at
Randall King. I mean, here's so many great ladies, Ashley
Cook and of course Hannah Ellis and Ella Langley, who
I talked to you on the show here a while back.
So it's just been fast riving. And you mentioned it, man,
one good song can really change the course of where
you're going in your career. Hey, let's talk about this
(28:13):
one off the record. You released it as a single
that included it on the Word to Find Me album,
Summer in America. Let's get a little backstory on that one.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
Yeah, Summer in America, dude, I wanted to make like
a you know, summer anthem. We almost missed the pocket
for Summer. I feel like we should have put that
thing out in like I don't know, March or something,
so it had its time. But yeah, it was like
it's supposed to be a boat song, you know, one
of those like all summer long or you know, something
you reach for every year, year after year, and I
(28:41):
wanted to make it timeless. It almost feels like it
came out into early two thousands to me, so I
thought that was cool.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
I love that too. That's what makes a great song,
no doubt too. And you mentioned that as long as
you released it, that's all it matter right there to
you released it. You got it out there till you'd
like to have it earlier. But hey, at the same time,
it does resonate with a lot of great people out
there too. And again, it's a song. I love it
so much. Let's talk about Stone off this record too.
I love it because it will take me back to
a little bit of there's a Texas artist standard named
Stony LaRue who I know very well too, And of
(29:09):
course a lot of people down here, Randy Rodgers and
a whole lot of others. But how did this one
kind of get a little backstory of Stone?
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Yeah, Stone wrote my buddy Bo Bailey and Eddie Everley
in Cool Like I think it was a night ride
right before we went somewhere and we were like last
minute kind of getting in and just wanted to We
had the title and we were like dude. We could
do so many things with this, but this is my
number one favorite song off the album. Ended up being
our opener for the show man. I come out to
(29:35):
it every night after our cool you know intro with
the drums and stuff, and it's Yeah. It's my by
far my favorite record on the album and is so
fun to play it live.
Speaker 5 (29:45):
Man.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
I love this one too. Whiskey Wishes. I got to
touch on this one too. This was January. You guys
released it as a single here in twenty twenty five.
Another great title for a song man. You got that
double w right there. Whiskey Wishes.
Speaker 6 (29:57):
Thank you dude.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
Yeah, I whiskey wish. This was cool. I had not
had such a like it's almost like to love me tonight,
thing like it leaned a little country for me at
the time, and so I was a little nervous to
put it out. We put it out and the fans
ended up loving it. I need to throw that in
the show too. I don't actually play that one live,
but that'd be cool.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
Hey, the performance, as you mentioned there too, stepping on stage,
I'll never know what that's like. And some of the
fans out there too, who obviously want to be an
inspiring artist. You can get up there as long as
you can sing and put on a show. But there's
a difference in saying you're gonna do it than actually
getting on stage to actually do it. To being a performer,
what's your favorite thing about just stepping out through in
front of a crowd and being that word, man, being
a performer, being a singer.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
I think that's it, dude. I see a lot of
shows where people kind of just stand around. To me,
it's about the performance just as much as sounding good.
I sacrifice not sounding pitch perfect to run around and
put on a good show, you know. And yeah, that's
the goal for me. When I saw kid Rock first
play man, I was like, oh, this is not just
a stand here and listen kind of thing. Everybody's involved.
(30:57):
So I just want everybody to kind of escape from
their you know, know, problems in life and just have
a good time.
Speaker 4 (31:02):
Dude.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
That's our goal every night. It's awesome. It's my favorite
part of this job.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
I always say, you guys get to do the best
job in the world out there too, Like anybody who
will will give anything out there to be a singer
and be a performer. It's a lot of work, no
doubt too. But I tell you what, there's a lot
of things fans don't see, the going behind the scenes
to put together a great team. Hey talk about that too,
because people, you know, whether you're an independent artist, do
you have a record label, or a PR team or
a management takes so many people to wear a number
of different hats because some people are doing social media,
(31:29):
some people are doing this and pushing stuff out. You're
making the record, all that great stuff, and it's a challenge,
no doubt. But putting together a great team is you
can't do without.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
One, right, No, you definitely can't. And I didn't understand
that for a long time. I tried to stay in
Alabama and do everything myself, and then I realized just
how quickly my career grew after I started building my
team and my management, my publishing company at Sony, just
everybody there that I work with. They all helped me
so much to just network and get outside of my
(31:58):
comfort zone. And I've met so many just dear friends
to me through people on my team and also my
road team out here, you know, my band that's we
all feel like a big family. Dude. I couldn't. I
don't even know how it got to this point, but
it just kind of fell into place. Man, it was.
It's been awesome, all.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
Right, good to answer that the million dollar question here too.
Looking back at it, being from Alabama, I know that
it's gonna be roll tiede or the Iron Bowl with
the war Eagles. So give me this is it's Alabama,
is it's Auburn. What do you got?
Speaker 1 (32:27):
It's roll tied all day for me? From birth?
Speaker 2 (32:30):
Yeah, from birth? Hey, tough loss to Florida State's open
the season. What I know it was?
Speaker 3 (32:35):
It was.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
Man, I don't love our new Yeah, I don't even
want to say it, but our new coach, man it is.
He ain't my favorite, bro, but I we'll see. Nick
Saban was my guy.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
Hey, seven national titles there too.
Speaker 4 (32:48):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (32:48):
He did something right there recruiting and everything else. Put
some good players on the field there too. Looking back, hey,
looking at pro teams, who does it for you? I
know I'm in a lot of those NFL fantasy drafts
you know coming up starting tonight. Of course it's a
Cowboys and Eagles and you got Week one of the
National Football League coming up this week. Who's your NFL
team and give me some projections this year.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
Yeah, I don't really so. Growing up in Alabama, we
didn't have one. So our closest thing, you know, when
I was down a mobile was kind of the Saints,
but I never really got to into it, didn't really
know what was going on. So moving to Nashville, I
finally got one as to Titans. So that's what I
almost stix with. Here.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
We gonna see cam Ward fan. I know there's a
lot of projections coming up with this rookie this year too,
and of course he's got to get under center first
and get some playing time. You excited about cam Ward.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
This will be my first year watching, so I ain't
even like Alabama football talk about all day long. This
I'm new. I'm so green in this. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
Hey, like I said, Titans, it's gonna be one of
those things to watch. It had a good draft and
we'll see if some of these players can project out.
Speaker 3 (33:46):
Now.
Speaker 2 (33:47):
I know, being Alabama too, there you come near that
Atlanta Braves country. You got some Texas here stuff with
the Rangers, the Astros, and of course those Florida teams
that are still kind of hanging around. Was there a
baseball team, either college or pro. You rooting for Oh bravez, dude.
I was a huge ship for Jones fan, so the
Braves were my team. I spent about three years of
my childhood and I didn't miss a game.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
I watched every game on TV. Yeah, I love that too.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
I go back to back to the TVs days when
the Braves were on the Turner broadcasting at the same time,
and I used to watch it too because it was
an Astros rivalry back because I'm a Houston Astros fan
down here, So in the nineties, we sit there and
watch the Houston Atlanta just kind of duke it out,
you know.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
Oh yeah, dude. Yeah. I went to my first Braves
game when I was probably I don't know, eight nine
years old, and I thought, man, this is the coolest
thing in the world. I loved it. I loved it. Man.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
So when you guys are on the road, what are
some of the favorite foods? Do you guys kind of
yump something or do you guys go off the word
of mouth from the locals? Where do you like to
eat when you're on the road.
Speaker 1 (34:39):
Yeah, word of mouse from locals is cool. Food trucks, man,
we were in Mississippi. Southern food's my thing, so when
I get outside of the South, I'm like, man, I'm lost.
I don't really like it. I'm uncomfortable and it just
don't do well with my stomach. We found a food
truck in Mississippi where this old woman was cooking some
rib tips, and I don't remember where we were, but
it was in a Dollar General parking lot, and it
(35:01):
was the best barbecue I've ever had in my life.
And I've had some really great barbecue, you know, in
Alabama and stuff, and man, this Mississippi barbecue. I almost
wanted to retrace our route to see if I could
find that same Dollar General to figure out what she
was doing. You know, it was incredible.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
I love it too. Hey, outside of music, give me
some maybe a hitting talent or a hobby. Is there
something that people don't know about that you're really good
at when it get hitting talent or a hobby.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
I'm really good at making bad decisions and getting too
many tattoos. And music has been the only thing I
really been good at.
Speaker 6 (35:33):
Man.
Speaker 1 (35:33):
I played baseball when I was younger, so I can
throw and I can hit a little bit, but I
was just a little too short to do it. I'm
five six, so I didn't really make it cut.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
Ain't nothing wrong with that. There's a guy named jose
Al two. They playing with the Astros right now. He's
gonna be a Hall of Famer.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
You know it's true. It's true.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
I'm not that, but you know, hey have all the
tattoos there too mentioned love the artworkers. I believe everybody
should express themselves in ways they should be able to do.
Just don't hold back and be here. You're going to
be and be authentic. Your favorite tattoo that you've gotten,
what's the most memorable and what's your favorite.
Speaker 1 (36:06):
I've got one from my late grandma. It's on the
back of my neck. It says her name, and it
says my angel. It's like angel wings and a heart,
and it takes up the whole back of my neck.
That's my favorite. I think it always will be.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
I love it. I will finish with this one here
and again where to find me across all those digital
streaming platforms. Make sure you guys go download and stream
the album and check out jaywebmusic dot com. Looking back
out there too mentioned a lot of great females kind
of doing everything right here too. Dream collaboration with a
current female artist or a former female artist? Who would
it be?
Speaker 1 (36:34):
Oh, I love that question. Number one is Jesse Murph.
I think Miss Jesse Murph is killing it beyond belief
right now. She's sick. And then I think Ellen Langley's
right up there at number two. Man, I think I
love both of them and what they're doing.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
All right, we'll flip the script here. Male country artists
you could do it with or have a dream collaboration.
Speaker 1 (36:52):
Uh, probably Post Malone. I love everything that he's done.
I feel like he kind of kicked the door down.
Him and Jelly. I think if it wasn't for them,
I might not have as good a chances of doing
this in country, you know.
Speaker 2 (37:05):
I love the crossovers and the collaborations a lot about
it too out there right now. That's making music, right,
diversity of varieties, of spice of life, something for everybody
out there too. At the same time, love is music
and that's where it stands right there too, because there's
something for everybody on this record. If you guys have
not heard it. Ten songs came out July twenty fifth,
