Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey all, this is Keith for Thompson, the ACM Award
winning duo Thompson Square, and you're listening to the Backstage
Pass exclusively on KKTC True Country A ninety nine point
nine in House, New Mexico.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
And welcome inside the Backstage Pass. Always a busy day
here too as well, especially with the end of the
year almost here. That's the crazy part here, the end
of twenty twenty four and the start of twenty twenty five.
And again early happy holidays to everybody out there too
at the same time, and I hope you guys are
already enjoyed vacation time. If you're getting it, I know,
Miny wi'llcur here in just a few weeks. As we're
on our friends out there KKTC True Country ninety nine

(00:34):
point nine in Taus, New Mexico. Maybe some of you
guys are going scheme for the holidays and up into Colorado.
So whatever you do, make sure you do it safe.
And we're presented by our friends over at the Cayden
Gordonshow dot Com Today's Best Country Mix and of course
all the craziness of the last twenty four to forty
eight hours or last I don't know what eight to
ten months or so, as the election is finally over
and we're here to hopefully shed some light on that.

(00:55):
And then so as one of my favorite guys joins
the show here Keith for Thompson of the group Thompson Square. Keith,
how you doing?

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Brother?

Speaker 4 (01:02):
I am great, brother. How are you doing?

Speaker 2 (01:05):
It's been a crazy twenty four to forty eight hours.
Had it early asked for the nation and again, like
I said, we decided on the candidate for the next
four years, and uh, like I said, we're gonna take
it for what it's worth. And I can't wait to
play play the toom coming up here a little bit
that you guys have put out the Make America Great
Again single to talk all about this, But first, man,
give me some plans. What's going on for the holidays

(01:25):
and Thanksgiving just right around the corner.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
You know, we don't know what we're gonna do. Uh,
you know, we're kind of strung out all over the country.
You know, my some of my family's down in South Alabama,
and as shawnas is all in South Alabama, and my
daddy's still back in Oklahoma.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
So we may go out to Oklahoma.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
And and have Thanksgiving with him and drag us a
butt back to Tennessee with us. I've been trying to
get him to come out here for about three years.
And he's eighty nine and stubborn, you know, he's kind
of setting his ways. But yeah, yeah, we we're trying
to figure out what to do for Christmas, you know,
we you know, we have have toyed with the idea
instead of doing presents and stuff like that. My son

(02:07):
doesn't play with toys or anything. He's not into that.
It never has been into that. So we're thinking about
maybe making a special trip maybe down to Mexico and
staying with their friends for a few weeks and just
kind of hanging out and making some memories. It seems
like that's gonna last longer than toys that he plays
with for about a day.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
No doubt about that. Make those memories while you can't
to I said, I just became a father there just
a few years ago, and it's one of the best
things I ever did, no doubt too. And I love it.
She's almost five and definitely just a special special thing
when you get a chance to share it with your
your loved ones too. At the same time. And if
you guys, you know y'all been busy. I know there's
some still some shows coming up there. People can check
out Thompson Square dot com for all those shows and

(02:47):
things that are coming up there. But you guys are
staying busy as the end of the year too, with
those holidays coming up. We talked about too, so I
guess always never resting on the Laurels musicians, and of
course you guys have been dominating this thing for you know,
well over two decades now at the same time, but
a chance to work with some great people. Before I
play the song, I want to talk about it. Make
America great again, you know, just coming off the election,

(03:07):
things like that, talk about how this got started, and
also working not just with Shawna on this to your
beautiful wife, but at the same time Gretchen Wilson and
of course John Rich and making this whole thing come
together to kind of make that statement which everybody kind
of needs to hear post election.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
Right. It was written very very quickly.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Me and Seanna were at our place down in Alabama
and Orange Beach, and you know, as I do every morning,
I get in my cup of coffee and have my
computer and guitar, and I go out and write a
little bit every single day and been doing that for
twenty years.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
And you know, the election.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Was on my mind and the country was on my heart,
and you know, SHAWNA came out. I was like, hey,
you know, I had this idea. You know, it's not
it's not super original as far as like the phrase.
Obviously didn't come up with that, but you know, I
wanted to write a song that was they had that
sentiment of make America great again. And I'll be honest

(04:03):
with you, I really didn't. I really didn't take into
account that it was. I was trying to write it
like Trump didn't say it, you know, and and it
wasn't his mantra and the one thing that triggers so
many people, you know when they hear it. Now, I
was really trying to keep it, you know, bipartisan kind
of kind of situation. And it's not a you know,

(04:23):
the song, if you listen to the lyrics, it's just
really kind of uplifting all the men and women who
fought and die for our country and and they giving
us these freedoms that we get to enjoy in this country,
and and uh, it wasn't meant to be you know,
anti Joe or anti Kamala or anything like that. But
UH just we wanted to write an anthemic type song.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
You know, like a lot of times when we write songs,
were like, Okay, we want to write a song like
when we were playing arenas, you know, when we'd write
songs like if I didn't have you that would resonate
in a big audience like that in a big room
with a big pa. And uh that's the one thing
we felt like, uh, mister Trump didn't have is that
is that anthem kind of song.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
So uh, you know.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
We wrote it specifically for uh, for for that situation,
which sounds like a bit of a contradiction that you said,
but uh, you know, I I love the sentiment of it.
I do believe that this country is great. I think
it uh just needs to get back to kind of
meat and potatoes of what what we kind of came
up with, you know. And I want my son to

(05:22):
be able to enjoy the same kind of things that
I did growing up. And you know, I think a
lot of things that we get hung up on as
a country, uh are are pale in comparison. To the
big picture, you know. And so we've got this song,
you know, John sent it to Donald. How did all
these people have got it?

Speaker 4 (05:37):
You know?

Speaker 1 (05:38):
And and obviously social media, Uh it's seems to be
very difficult to get the message out when you put
any kind of post up that says make America great again,
you know. And that's that's a true thing. But you know,
We're we're we're doing everything we can to get the
word out and get the message out. And I'm doing
a lot of interviews about it. I've been on Newsmax
a couple of times, been on these uh you know,

(05:58):
uh national news outlets and talking about it, you know.
And and we're really proud of how it came out,
you know. And uh so Sean and I wrote it,
and then we did it at a Trump rally a
few weeks ago, and a lot of people got really
excited about it, and UH asked if I could come
back in and and and recut it, make it bigger,

(06:20):
and maybe get some guests on it, you know, John,
Gretchen and Jared and they all three said yes, And
I thought that was enough, you know. I I'll be
honest with you. I I called several artists, and many
of them were uh, very scared to put to put
their name and likeness on this song, you know, and
that that that's sad because if you're you know, you're

(06:41):
afraid of losing followers and all that stuff. And you know,
we've gotten a lot of backlash online, to be honest
with you, but you know, the people that we've lost,
we've gained back. And uh, I think that's a testament
to kind of you just kind of have to find
your people. And you know, we the intention was not
to alienate anybody, alien to any of our fans, but
you know, this political climate that we live in, it's

(07:02):
almost inevitable. You know, you can't avoid that. So it
is what it is.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
You know.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
It weighed on us so much to be able to
contribute to this cause that we believe in so much,
and that's why we wrote it.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Yeah, and of course this was you know, one of
the biggest elections we've had in a long time there too.
At the same time, with two candidate suite we're left
with there for the Democratic and Republican side too. And
I'm trying to get I don't ever get political or
religious here on the show too. Respect any and all opinions.
So respect you guys for putting something out like this too.
That definitely is something worth hearing. And if people haven't
heard it, they're gonna hear it right now. Ninety nine

(07:34):

sports and Texas country to best music on the Platt
That's right here at the Sports Guys podcast.

Speaker 10 (12:08):
Not come on.

Speaker 11 (12:11):

two hour show playing independent and mainstream country music you
know in love. Be sure to check it out at
the Kangordonshow dot com for more information on the show, and.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
Back here with Keith for Thompson There and making America
great again. The latest single from Thompson Square you know,
speak of that and check out the website Thompson Square
dot com for all the tour dates and merchandise and
everything out there. Let's talk a little bit about what's
coming up next. You mentioned there too, because there are
some tour dates out there too. I know you guys
are playing. I believe it's the Elton Vegas coming up
real soon there too, And there's some other things that
are going on in the Thompson Square camp and I know,

(12:48):
getting ready for twenty twenty five for you guys. Going
to be a busy year coming up.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
There too, right, it really is, man, We're we're very excited.
I'm glad the election's over with so we can get
back to work and get back to business. And everyone's
really you know, the buyers and promoters, everyone's been really scared.
So I'm really excited about that being over with. I've
never been so exhausted and overwhelmed with anxiety about an

(13:14):
election than this one.

Speaker 11 (13:15):
Man.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
I mean, you know, last night I was just I
couldn't sleep. I woke up this morning not knowing the result,
and I sit at the corner of my bed and
I'm just like, Okay, no matter what happens, still the
greatest country in the world. We're gonna get back to work.
I went in and made my coffee. I didn't look
at any devices and then I opened up my phone.
I was like, oh my gosh, I can't believe it
pulled it off in a big way. I mean, it

(13:36):
was a big, big win, you know. But yeah, you know,
twenty five is going to be an amazing year for
us because we do have so much stuff going on.
We just got out of a record deal and so
now we're free to be able to release music music again.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
And this man.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
I'll send you a link to this music but or
you can check it out. It's Sean on Thompson dot
Com and Sean on Thompson Music all her handles and
you know, we cut this is a dream record of
hers man, and I'm telling you it's one of the
best records I've heard in twenty years.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
It's real country.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
It's a thrilled back to like the nineteen sixties, early
nineteen seventies, Vince Gills on it, Rick, Ricky Skaggs, Pam Tillis,
Jim Lauderdale, Leon and Williams. It's just chuck full of
amazing Grammy Award winning artist. And then on top of that,
I'm relaunching my comedy career, so I got some stand
up comedy shows coming up.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
Really excited about that.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Keeper Comedy is all my stuff online, So yeah, man,
we got you know, I'm managing three artists right now
that live in one house.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
I love this too, because I was just checking it
out there too, lean On Neon you were talking about
from Sean. It's kind of the first record to put
out there too, which just came out right there in
September two. And there's some good things I actually got
to hear Bam McClay so looking forward to talking about
that one too, And you mentioned some of those collaborations
there too, and also howky song hurtin, which is Pam
Tiller has been on the show many times with me too,
one of the greatest ouff there.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
To do it.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
So people check out this record for Leanon Neon, and
I know she's, like you said, very excited to put
this project out for all her fans out there too.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
I can't believe the amount of vinyl that she's selling
right now, you know. I mean, it's just about every
day she gets to order for vinyl and the people
who don't even have record players. But the artwork is
so beautiful and people, I mean, I find that people
are by a vinyl almost just to collect, you know,
just to have it. So this this if you're a
country music fan, man, I mean this, this album is

(15:30):
going to fit into your collection like you like you
You'll put it right there with Hank Junior and Merle
Haggard and all the greats.

Speaker 11 (15:36):
You know.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
This is I'm very very proud of her and very
proud of this record, you know.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
And you know that's funny because a lot of people ask,
you know, how do we how do we coexist? You know,
we we live under the same roof. Obviously, we're together
twenty four hours a day to have been over almost
thirty years now, and I'm her biggest fan. I actually
we wrote and produced this record for her, So I've
got it. It's very very near to my heart and

(16:01):
it's just an amazing project.

Speaker 4 (16:02):
Man.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
You know, I loved you guys' last album, which was
a masterpiece, which was out there in twenty eighteen. Of course,
that title track to that one kind of go through
the catalog, guests of some of those songs that you
guys have put on there for me key for a
little bit when you look back at it, just some
of the highlights from that record, because I really thought.
Even back you mentioned that when you guys were in
the record deal at the time, you're not anymore. But
looking back at that one too, with some really cool

(16:24):
songs up in Smoke and Millionaires, and of course the
title track itself being Masterpiece, talk about that one just
kind of relive some of those highlights from that particular album.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Didn't have anybody telling us or forcing us to write
to record songs that we didn't like, which we've had
to do that on every single record we put out,
and so it was really as far as creative freedom, man,
it was. It was the most it was the most
authentic version of Thompson Square to date when it came out,
you know, and we had this whole record in the can,

(16:54):
and I woke up one morning and wrote Masterpiece by
myself out by the on the on the back porch,
and I played it for Shaan and She's like, oh
my gosh, because this is my favorite song you've ever
ever written, and I think we need to name the
album Masterpiece.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
And we got to go back in and cut that song,
and so we did, you know.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
And and honestly, as an independent release, it was the
only record in our career that I've completely recouped, and
I didn't sell that many of them, you know, so
it really, it really is a testament to if you
own your music, if you write your own music and
you own the masters and stuff, you can actually, you know,
make a living at this, you know. And Sewna and

(17:32):
I have always been very independent minded and so be
able to put that record together by ourselves.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
Was it was so much fun.

Speaker 11 (17:40):
Man.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
I'm looking forward to the next one, no.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Doubt about it. I can't wait for that one too.
And of course, just to clarify their shows at Thompson
Square dot com December seventh the Showroom with the Golden
Nugget in Vegas. You get tickets there online there too,
And of course December thirty first, right there in New
Year's Eve, right before twenty twenty five takes hold of
us the branded theater in Richmond, Missouri. So make sure
you go check out Thompson Square Yeah dot com for
the dude if you If you ever get back to Texas,

(18:04):
my friend, I'm gonna come as a guest if you guys,
if you don't mind it, I'm gonna sit first row
with the wife and the kid.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
If that's Okay, that sounds good. That sounds great. Man.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
I've never gotten to a Thompson Square show, but it's
gonna change in twenty twenty five. I have a feeling
on that too as well. Well, it's time to take
you guys back to twenty ten, their biggest hit, no
doubt about it too. Are you gonna kiss me or not?
We'll find out that question on the other side. Here

homework duty as well, take care of the games and
do all that good stuff. And of course we'll get
him back here to a twenty twenty five new album
coming up and a whole lot more Make America great again.

(22:24):
The current single across all those digital streaming platforms. All right,
I'm sure it never gets old. I talk to a
lot of artists here, as you know, on the radio
show here on a program. The biggest hit or one
of the biggest hits back there too, along with if
I didn't have you. But looking back at that one,
I mean, could you guys have forecasted that that particular
song are you Gonna miss Are you Gonna Kiss Me?

Speaker 11 (22:43):
Or not?

Speaker 2 (22:44):
At the same time in twenty ten would have changed
your lives.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
For the pep We were at a place in our
life where we were facing bankruptcy, and you know, I'd
taken a lot of financial gambles just to kind of
keep us afloat, you know, taken equity out of our house,
max and no credit cards. I mean, you name it,
you know, I you know, and I'm coming off of
a college education and going to going to get my

(23:08):
doctorate degree and decided it was a better idea to
move to Nashville and become a singer song singer songwriter.
And you know, so for thirteen long years, man, you know,
we struggled and played for tips, you know, we played
for our shifts. We bartended. I was a graphic designer,
SHAWNA was a photographer. I mean, we did everything under

(23:31):
the son you can imagine to make it, to make
ends meet, you know, and then along comes the song.
We did a show actually before the song, we did
a showcase I think it was around August at a
place called Third and Lensley, and you know, we had
two labels show up. And that was another record that
I did independently, and that record got us a record deal.

(23:52):
And then like thirty days later, man are you going
to Kiss Me or not? Came through my email and
I played it and I looked at Sean, I was like, dude,
this song is a giant song. We've got to record this,
and it was. It was really one of the two
times in our career where you know, are you going
to kiss me or not? Have been written for two

(24:13):
or three years, you know, and I guess it had
been pitched around. I talked to David Lee Murphy about it,
you know, but they didn't realize that. They didn't think
it was gonna you know, I mean, who knows what's
gonna happen with the song. But you know, some of
the greatest songs in the world you'll never hear because
they're never gonna get released. So it was the perfect time,
the perfect artist, the perfect song. Everything lined up, you know,

(24:34):
and the label was working hard for us at that time.
Not always, but at that time that were and you know,
it was just a perfect storm, you know. So we
went from you know, I had to take a loan
out for ten thousand dollars just to make my payment,
just to make my bills, and then between that and
the end of twenty eleven, we had the biggest song

(24:56):
of the year, and man, we did like two hundred
and seventy shows two years in a row. I mean,
we were out there just literally killing ourselves doing radio shows,
free radio shows, you know, casinos, everything you could possibly imagine.
We were blessed to be able to go out with
Luke Bryn, Lady Annabellum and Darius Rucker and of course

(25:17):
Jason Alden in the beginning, you know, and then it
decided to get out of the big tours and just
go do our own thing. But you know, that song
ended up being the number four song in the decade, man,
and for two lower middle class kids. Man, that it
came from from nowhere towns. It's still seems very very

(25:37):
surreal to me, you know. So that song is definitely
the one that changed our life and continues to do so.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
You know, that was of the breakthrough one you mentioned
double platinum and it spent forty weeks, I believe, was
a Billboards Hot Country Songs chart and number one in
twenty ten. And of course looking back at twenty twelve
and thirteen, I go back with you guys too, because
that was vocal duo over the year at the Academy
of Country Music Awards. You know, congratulations on that too,
because those feats never come lightly when it comes down

(26:05):
to it, in any awards in this business, any kind
of recognition anything like that too, from your peers or
from the academy, things like that. You never take that
for lightly.

Speaker 11 (26:13):
Right.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
We were such a small label with so little votes
and so little, so little stroke as far as the
the bartering and all that goes on with those award shows,
and uh, but you know, somehow, uh, you know, God
had different plans and and we were able to win
the ACM Award twice, uh, the CMA Award twice. We
were nominated for two Grammys that year, you know, And

(26:38):
I honestly, man, at that point, I was like, listen,
if this never happens again, I am totally fine with
it because all I did to move I moved to
town just to see if I could make a living
writing music.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (26:48):
And that was it, you know, So all those gifts
that we got, man, I tell you what, I'm so
so very grateful. I know Shawna is too. We got
to see the dreams come true. A really special ride.
Not always is not always smooth, you know, Like I said,
we're getting out of another deal right now, and you know,
so it's just uh, you know, The music business is tough, man,

(27:10):
you know, and you have to have thick skin and
you gotta stay you gotta stay true to yourself. You
gotta believe in yourself and you can't give up, you know.
And so that's kind of where we're at. And and man,
we got some music that's already cut that I just
brought the masters back. Really really super excited about getting
some of this stuff out for you guys.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
Looking forward to that too, no doubt. And like you said,
everything's tough out there too. The music business is hard.
And of course I say the same thing with a podcast,
and even the radio people don't realize the overhead cost
and things like that too. One of these shows on
and the production and the software and the boards and
things that goes through it between doing like I said,
between football and sports and then doing a little bit
of country music. But you can, you keep your heading there,
you keep you know, trying to win. And just with

(27:50):
a gratitude, I've been able to build this thing in
almost six years now, and it's amazing to you guys
have come, like I said, that full circle moment, so
you definitely you're more appreciative of that too, And just
the gratit to winning those awards and know what it
takes to fight through all this too, to that's where
you want to go in your career, because you said it,
nothing is easy out there, especially in the times we're
in right now. So it makes it that much much

(28:11):
more worthwhile when you can see the light at the
end of the tunnel.

Speaker 4 (28:14):
Right, that's one hundred percent right man.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
I love it too well. Single again, Make America great Again?
From Thompson Square out there. Hey, let's have a little
fun with this one. I got to get a Super
Bowl prediction from you. I know, for me, my Arizona
Cardinals are playing really well this year and slogan the
Dallas Cowboys aren't. But the Kansas City Chiefs have been
the class of the league. What three to the last
five for Super Bowl titles? Looking back at that, I
know you guys in and around Nashville have done some

(28:39):
Titan games before, but is there another team or teams
out there that you guys root for NFL this year?
Super Bowl prediction laid.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
On me, you know, I honestly I haven't been able
to watch a whole lot of football and it's made
my family very happy. It drives them crazy when I
watch football. For some reason, it's weird. I can't get
my son to watch football with me, and it's so
weird to me because me and my dad, man, we
watched football religiously every game that came on, you know, Monday, Sunday, Thursday,

(29:06):
we were there.

Speaker 11 (29:07):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
You know, I've always been a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. I'm
not sure why. I think I know why. I had
a connection with them when I was in great used
to give me trading cards after school, and I just
I always love that.

Speaker 4 (29:23):
That uh, that organization.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
Uh We've been able to go to the to the
stadium and view the locker rooms and all that stuff.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
So I've always been a big fan of them. You know,
it's weird.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
I'm kind of a weird football fan because I follow quarterbacks,
you know, because I was a quarterback in football in
high school, and so I'm not a die hard anything.
Of course, I love my Titans, but I don't think
that's gonna happen. But uh, you know, I I've I've
always I've been a massive Brady fan, so I follow
him through his career. You know, I love Mayfield because

(29:56):
he's from Oklahoma. I watched him through his collegiate agent career.
You know, so I always pulled for Barry Sanders because
he was the I saw him run at os U
and I thought he was the greatest running back I've
ever seen in my life. I think he's the greatest
one they ever run to ever play the game. To
be honest with you, I think if he was anywhere

(30:18):
besides the Lions, he would have done even greater things.
But the things that he did there was was monumental.
But yeah, you know, I think my my, my Steelers
are are up there, man. I I you know, when
the Titans came to town, I had to kind of
pledge my allegiance to them.

Speaker 4 (30:34):
But I still have a soft spot in my heart
for the Steelers.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
Hey, you having a great year there too, and just
made a couple of big trains with the trade deadline
there this past week for the NFL, and definitely Russell
Wilson justin fields and a whole lot more there too
at the same time. And Mike Tomlin has never had
a losing season in Pittsburgh about that, even even the
ones that have come close to the five hundred seasons,
which are still winning season in almost two decades there,
Mike Tomlin has taken over for Bill Cower. Of course,

(31:00):
that's one of the franchises that has not had a
lot of high turnover when it comes to head coaches
franchise history, Chuck Nole, Bill Caller, Mike Tomlin. That's that's
a pretty pretty short list of head coaches.

Speaker 4 (31:11):
It sure is.

Speaker 11 (31:12):
Man.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
Well, you know, all like can we do is hope?
Like I said, I I uh, I'm a huge football fan,
but uh, you know, I'm not. I'm not breaking up
marriages and friendships over football games. It seems like that's
and there's a lot of that, you know with Alabama
and Auburn. I mean, Seana is an Auburn fan. Her
whole family's Alabama. And I've never seen the kind of
craziness uh that that happens down there with with you

(31:36):
know families. Actually there's been a homicides over this this
football team, you know, and it's just the most craziest
thing I've ever seen.

Speaker 11 (31:44):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
That's kind of how our political That's kind of how
a political thing is right now too. It's you know,
if if you don't agree with me, then then you're
dead to me, you know. And and Uh, it's a
really sad place to be, but uh yeah, so it's
it's it's interesting.

Speaker 4 (31:59):
To watch those been in football games with her family
because it's not pretty. No, it's not.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
This year with the top twelve in the college football
polls and the playoffs and things like that have come out,
it makes the game a lot more parody in it too.
And I look forward to seeing a lot of the
teams and how they forecast themselves with some of those
big first round games coming up there to here. Of course,
Tennessee has has some big wins too, so maybe they
get themselves in the picture. And Knoxville can go crazy
too at the same time. And I want to ask
you guys, this be where we let you go and
wrap up here today on the backstage pass, Let's talk

(32:27):
a little bit about restaurants. Nashville is no stranger to them,
and it just seems like every time I go there
for one of the big events, and whether it be
CM a Week or CRS or something else we end
up doing up there for the brand and for the show,
the restaurants keep getting better and better. Talk about for
you guys, anything new you've tried, that kind of kind
of tickles the fancy a little bit.

Speaker 1 (32:46):
Well, you know, when we moved here, our choices were
Shonees and yeah, so yeah, the food game has gotten
exponentially better.

Speaker 4 (32:58):
You know.

Speaker 1 (32:59):
Skulls Ambo Room is one of the best places that
we've gone to. Jimmy Kelly's, of course is a great place.
We goo to Sperry's a lot, especially when they have
bottles of wine. We'll go to Sperry's. But uh, you
know that's probably my that's probably my three top ones.
But we go to Sperry's a lot.

Speaker 11 (33:19):
Man.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
It's just an old school steakhouse, is very seedy. It
just feels like you step back in the nineteen thirties.
It's just it's such a cool place and you never
get a bad meal there.

Speaker 4 (33:29):
Man. It's just completely off the hook as far as
our states goes awesome.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
Looking forward to getting back to that one too. And
of course Skulls one of my favorite restaurants there to
eat at with the team. There a couple of CRS's
that go there for country radio seminar and again the
songs out there across all the digital streaming platforms make
America great again. From Thompson Square Keith for Shanta, two
of the best vocal duos to do it in the
industry for as long as they have, and to fight
through and take some bullets, but you know what, I'd

(33:55):
be able to fire back to as quick as you
can take me, fire back and hit the target. They've
done it with the latest single and of course a
whole lot more coming up in two thousand and twenty five.
Check them out for all the tour dates and merchandise
at Thompsons Square dot com. Keeper always appreciate man showing
some love to the show here on the backstage pass.
Looking forward to catching up with you guys again and
twenty twenty five when the new record comes out. Happy
holidays to you, Sean and the kids, and looking forward

(34:17):
to doing this again my friend, no doubt.

Speaker 4 (34:19):
Thank you, brother. I appreciate the time you got it.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
Thompson Square There, Keith for Thompson There too, make America
