I am acting like I'm cute andI'm so you are tuning in to
(00:20):
the Bad and Bougiemos podcast show.So on this episode, we're just gonna
talk about what's going on and Ihope with me and my family during the
pandemic. Also have a co hostthat keeps on running into the conversation,
so you're definitely gonna hear mmy throughall of this. Unfortunately, I'm at
(00:41):
the house by myself, so it'sjust me and him and the tub,
and he continues to come in hereand interruptresession. He sounds super cute,
but he Um, it's definitely, you know, getting in the way,
but it's okay. I love him. Also, on this episode, we're
gonna just hit up a few tiin triests on how to do a home
(01:02):
refresh when it comes to organizing. So I hope you guys, you know,
get your pen and paper ready andthat you actually get a little something
out of it. Um, it'smy first time actually explaining some of the
organizing things. I'm more so overduerwriter kind of person when it comes to
excuse me, when it comes toactually explaining things, it could be kind
(01:23):
of awkward, but I get throughit. Any who Enjoda Show, Arrest
Brianna taylors Kill, US, arrestBrianna taylors Kill US, Arrest Brianna taylors
(01:49):
Kill US. Arrest Brianna taylors Kill, US, Arrest Brianna Taylors Killers.
Why won't you do to that?Egg? I rest Brianna taylors Kill US.
(02:09):
Well, why won't you do withtoday? Arrest Brianna taylors Kill US.
(02:30):
Hi, guys, this is Brettwith the Bad and Boujima's podcast show
today. It is July the twentieth, twenty twenty. Oh, July twenty
twenty twenty and who. Unfortunately,we still have not arrested Brihanna Taylor's killers.
Um, hopefully you know it wouldhappen soon, but UM, I'm
sad that each day is going bythat we have not done so, so
(02:53):
again, hurry the hell up?All right, So on today's episode,
we're just gonna talk about, ofcourse, what's been going on with me
and my family during the pandemic. It's been what since March now, so
of course I'm from the last episode. You guys know that Georgia decided to
open all the way back up.Since we did that, now we're looking
(03:16):
crazy because our numbers have of courseskyrock, skyrock, the skyrocketed over the
couple of weeks that we have reopened. We do not have a state mandate
for masks, of course, youknow, Aunti Kisha try to get that
in place, but since we're beingran by you know, people who don't
(03:38):
understand numbers, you know, onthe third grade level, they blocked it,
and so now we're still back tothe state we end. So for
all my Georgia listeners, you know, of course, be safe, stay
healthy, make sure you wear yourmask, even though it's not mandated at
this point. Mask and wash yourhands is all we got, so make
(03:58):
sure you please at least do thatfor the people. All right, So
on this episode, like I mentioned, we're gonna be just talking about some
things that happen during the last timethat I actually recorded an episode. I
know, it's been a while, been super busy with working everything. So
the first thing that I want totalk about is that? Okay, So
(04:19):
it's not embarrassing, but it's kindof embarrassing. And the reason why it's
embarrassing because of the story that I'mgonna tell. But it's technically not embarrassing,
all right. So a couple ofweeks ago, all of a sudden
and I could not hear out ofmy right ear. Like. It was
to the point where if I laydown on my left ear, like you
(04:41):
can be talking to me right infront of my face and I couldn't hear
anything. So I just a disclaimer. I do clean out my ears at
least daily, if not at leastevery other day with a Q tip,
which I know that's a no go, but if everyone knows to clean their
ears, I would have till youknow you can only it can only catch
(05:02):
spots, say, nothing else cancatch like you know, you just be
swirling and sush. It feels amazing. AnyWho. So back to me,
M going halfway death. So Icouldn't hear out of my right ear.
It was, like I said, was to the point that if I laid
on my left ear, I waspretty much send my death the kids.
You know. I had to turnmy head in order for the in order
(05:25):
to hear the kids talk, youknow, things like that. So I
was like, all right, I'mgonna go ahead and you know, try
and make a doctor's apportment. Ofcourse, I didn't want to because of
the whole COVID situation. I'm like, oh my god, like this is
gonna be horrible. I'm gonna haveto put on the hassmats suit like whatever.
So I went ahead made a doctor'ssupportment. Of course, I asked
(05:46):
me all the questions, have youbeen out of town lately? Do you
have a fever of cough? Youknow, anything like that, And of
course the answers were no, becausewe've been staying our asses in the house
the whole entire time unless I goto target that I wentn't here and went
to the doctor on that Monday. So it's been a week since I could
not hear out of my right ear. So go to the doctor on that
(06:10):
Monday. I get there, thenurse, you know, lady, she
does a ear pressure test first, then have no pressure in the ear.
She was like, oh my god, like this isn't good, like you
have zero pressure, and I'm likeyeah, because I legit can't hear I'm
like, it doesn't feel like wateris in there or anything. I just
can't hear out of my ear.So after that, she go ahead and
(06:33):
move on to doing a ear test. So I'm not sure if you guys
remember, especially my eighties slash ninetybabies, that when we was in elementary
school, I want to say probablykindergarten, first grade. Most likely it
was probably kindergarten where they did alittle hearing tests. They put headphones on
your ear and they're like, okay, when you hear a beep, you
(06:55):
know in which every ear, raiseyour hand once she hears the beep or
whatever. So that's pretty much whatI had to do at the doctor.
So she puts a little testing inmy air. She was like, all
right, let me know when you'rehere the beep, just raise your hand,
y'all. I ain't raised my handat all, like I heard nothing.
So then she moves on to myleft air and she's like, all
(07:17):
right, let me know, youknow, raise your hand when you're here
to be heard about ten. Sogoing from zero not hearing anything to ten,
I'm like, now at this point, I'm freaking out. I'm like,
oh shit, I'm gonna have toget a hero and aid, I'm
gonna had to go to, um, what's the boss? Isn't that I
was supposed to make the HEROINAI SoI'm like, lord, I'm gonna have
to do all this stuff just tohear out this ear. So at this
(07:41):
point, she goes head and getsthe little ear microscope look in my air
and she's like, oh my god, like your ear it's totally blocked with
wats like like it's so like shecan't even send her ears drum you guys.
It's like it was so horrible. So she was like, it's okay.
She said, you know all we'regonna do. We're gon pitstoner drop
singing ears. And then A wantsto drop spinnis working. I'm actually gonna
(08:03):
get a saranch to just blot yourears. So I'm like, all right,
cool, like sounds easy, sounds, you know whatever. So you
know, she sits there, putthe drop sin. I sit there for
about twenty minutes, and nexting though, you know, she comes back with
the surranch of stuff and she's justpushing I mean pushing this water in my
ear, y'all. And I said, this shit hurts so bad, but
(08:24):
I was able to hear folks onplanet Mars after she did all that,
Like it was just I might haveto if y'all want to see a picture.
I was seing y'all a picture likeit was just clunks of shit just
coming out in the ball. Itwas. It wasn't nast to me because
I like stuff like that. Butif people cringe, like, you know,
(08:45):
if you don't like nasty stuff likethat, yeah, you probably like
bro like like that's grosser's hell.So yeah, so she ends up blowing
out my ears. At this point, I get back to the car.
You know, I had the musicon mats because I can't hear. Ship
was super loud. So I'm sorryto my baby because I know they're probably
like, yo, like this ladyis blasting this music and it's like so
(09:05):
loud that we're gonna we just can'thear. So long story short, made
sure that you do, first ofall, you do not clean your ears
out with Q tips, because allyou're doing is pretty much just pushing it
down there, just pushing pushing pushingit down there for years. Second of
all, I went ahead and boughtthis ear this ear cleaning microscope. So
(09:28):
what it is it looks like apen I think I posted a couple of
weeks ago, but it looks likea little like a stylist pen that has
a Microsoft not Microsoft, but amicroscope at the end of the pen.
So um. It hooks up toyour phone via Wi Fi and you're able
to look into your ear and cleanit out with a little scooper that's on
(09:50):
the end of it. Shit supercool, you know I pretty much when
it came in, everybody got theirears cleaned in my household, like like
Thursdays our ear cleaning Thursday. So, yes, I'm recording a podcast.
You gotta wait, give me fiveminutes. Okay, all right, five
minutes, Thank you, Garst. You then what I'm recording? What's up?
(10:13):
What's up? What's up? Byevery bye? See you later,
go have fun. I'm coming fiveminutes. Sorry about that, guys.
I'm at home by myself, soof course, you know Remy, it's
like, yeah, come on,and I tell him five minutes for everything,
like it could legit be a wholethirty minutes. So I was like,
(10:33):
no, Remy, give me fiveminutes. Five minutes. So all
he knows now it was five minutes. And who's so back to the the
ear the ear microscope things, soit has this little too where you're actually
able to clean your ears out effectively. And yes, everyone at my house
have had their ears cleaned out byme, so I'm definitely an E n
(10:54):
T doctor right now. And I'dhave set it up for everyone to get
their ears check every third stay onmy calendar. So they probably hate me,
but they say it feels good afterwords, so it's it's whatever a
right. So that's one thing thathappened while this whole pandemic thing was going
on. M Secondly, I'm tryingto think any type of changes I've noticed
(11:16):
from the COVID Uh. Let's see, I don't know. Oh, my
sleep schedule, it's really fucked upright now. Like I go to bed
around three o'clock in the morning, don't wake up to about eight or so.
Um that's on a good night. So it just matters on on what
(11:37):
TV shows I'm watching. You guysknow, I'm a big you know,
news Finnatic, so of course Iwatched CNN, Donal Lemon, you know,
Kumo and all that, but Ialso been watching a lot of fishing
shows. I'm not sure if youguys have heard about Wicked Tuna, but
it's pretty much the show about thesefishermens that go out to get these big
ass tunas to sell. Like thetunas be about six hundred and fifty pounds,
(12:03):
like one hundred one hundred feet long, like crazy stuff. And they
get paid like thousands of dollars offof fishing, you know, catching these
tunas. So it's like five boatsthat are pretty much in competition with each
other for how much money they canmake during tuna season. Y'all. You
would think if you don't like fishing, it might not be your show.
(12:24):
I'd love to go fishing, however, if they still make it very dramatic
because you know, of course thehook, the fish gets on the hook
that all of a sudden, youknow, they got to run to the
deck and go ahead and pull thefish up, and then someone has to
get a dagger and like like shootthe arrow to the fish to go ahead
and kill. It's crazy. Soit's very entertaining. It is all about
(12:46):
fish, but it's definitely entertaining tosay the least. So yeah, so
we could Tuna been my show. And also I've been watching a lot of
UM, a lot of Earth showson Netflix. So definitely just trying to
you know, since we can't gooutside, just know what you're doing.
I oh my gosh, here, hurry up, put some on your hands.
(13:20):
All right, that's good, thanks, you have some later, Okay,
bye? What excuse you? Excuseyou? Yes? All right,
good play. I'll be there infive minutes. All right, all right,
sorry guys. So yeah, so, um so, my my goal
(13:43):
is is to be able to geton some type of sleep schedule, um,
at least when the kids start backgoing to school. So I do
have my alarm set for ten o'clockat night, um, just so I
can remind myself. Okay, Brian, you need to be like headed to
going to bed. I don't necessarisarily have to fall asleep, but I
just want to be able to winddown and just you know, be able
(14:05):
to kind of you know, sawmy brain things like that. Like one
issue that I really have is thatI'm constantly thinking, Like I'm constantly thinking
about the shit I gotta do thenext day, thinking about the ship that
the kids gotta do, think aboutstuff I gotta do for other people,
think about stlf that I need todo for myself. So I literally have
to tell myself, Brittany, shutyour brain off and go to bed.
(14:26):
So so I'm trying to find differentways to just be able to just you
know, of course, release myselffrom the day, you know, relax.
You don't have to kind of worryabout, you know, everything that's
going on the next stay because ofcourse the next stays not here yet,
So just kind of wind down andjust you know, get into a zen
moment while I could just finally fallasleep. Also, we have been come
(14:52):
on the other side, we havebecame more healthy eaters throughout this we don't
really eat out as much as weused to. I do miss my seat
food, especially like my orsters andthings like that. But until I can
find a place here that I canactually pick up pick them up and learn
how to cook orsters out the housemyself, I ain't nothing I can do.
(15:13):
So of course, since we're eatinghealthier, we are losing weight.
But I am tired of cooking everyday. That's honestly is what prompt me
about the whole you know, homerefresh you know thing or whatever, which
we'll get more into that later inthis episode. Because I know, being
in your house for twenty four hoursout the day like legit, work,
(15:35):
sleep, play whatever. Of course, your house gets messy, so I
wanted to just you know, makean episode where it kind of just touch
based on how to you know, organize your home. It just kind of
get you know, a little refreshdone before the school before the kids have
to go back to virtual school, not real school, but virtual school.
All right. So yeah, sowe're eating healthier, my sleep is fucked
(15:58):
up. As far as working out, we do go on still doing our
little daily wats every single day forforty five minutes. However, your girl
just purchased her a Peloton bike,so I'm super excited about that. It
should be hearing August. So I'mabout to be fine fine, Like you
know, I'm kind of semi finenow, but I'm about to be real
(16:21):
fine because first of all, I'mgonna get my money out this investment because
the ship's not cheap. Secondly,at least I'll be able to kind of
do my own thing. I'm moreof an accountability partner for my husband,
so I definitely, you know, when he'd be like, yeah, let's
go walk, I'm like, allright, cool, let's go walk.
I walk with him. Plus Igo and do my own thing because I
(16:41):
just I know where I need tobe at and what I need to do,
So I'm very excited about it beinghere. All guests is actually me
and my husband's anniversary month and alsoour birthday month. So it's a gift
for the household. Air quotes,so he definitely have six things for the
(17:02):
bite too, so he'll be ableto to actually enjoy your ride on there
as well. So yeah, sothat's all. That's what's been going on
with me. As far as youknow, the pandemic, we still here.
We're still I'm healthy and alive,so I definitely, you know,
thank God for that because there's peopleout here that's losing their lives for real,
(17:23):
and you know, and you justgotta thank God every day for just
being able to wake you up andjust being healthy. So yeah, sorry,
So now we're about to flip thescript and we're going to just talk
about UM. Of course, gettingyour home back in order, the home
refresh, also about getting the kidsin order to school. It's about to
(17:45):
start back up. So as faras with the kids, I actually started
UM a couple of years ago inthe month of July, and the kids
they know this as well. Sofor the month of July, I actually
roped them out an entire months schedulesjust to kind of kind of get them
back on board as far as youknow, waking up studying certain you know,
(18:07):
making sure their habits are back inplaces for us with school, So
that's waking up on time studying, you know, things they need to study
to kind of you know, refreshtheir brain. Um. I'll also add
a couple of fun experiments in there, just to kind of, you know,
give them some type of break intheir day. Of course, it
is still the summertime. Remy, you're gonna have to leave, honey,
(18:30):
here go play. I'll turn thepower. You suposed to be watching Power
Rangers? Yeah, go watch PowerRangers go by. Oh my gosh,
y'all. This is why I recordwhen either I'm alone, he is sleep,
(18:52):
or I have somebody who can whocan actually watch him. Literally it's
just me and him in the house. Any who. So back to the
school schedule were not school schedule, but for the month of July schedules.
So again it's just to kind ofget the kids back into the swing of
being in school. I'm the typeof parents since my kids. They definitely
apply themselves throughout the year. Allmy kids, they even make a's or
(19:17):
bees or straight a's that I feellike, the summertime is for you to
rest your brain through whatever the hellyou want to do. Hell, if
you want to wake up at tenthirty and you know, make your peanut
butter and jello sounds, don't mindme, Like, do what you do.
It's the summertime, you know whatever. So again, this is just
to kind of get them back ontrack because they have been staying up super
late at night, you know, waking up super late, not really doing
(19:41):
nothing, not you know, readingthings like that. So just and I
was gonna, Lord Jesus, Iwas gonna actually give you guys the structure
of the the schedule I implemented.I had it over here on paper,
but I think Ramanton actually got it. So the structure and this is just
off the top of my head whatI try to do. Of course,
(20:03):
you need to base it off ofwhat your kids are used to. So,
for instance, my older kids, they are used to waking up later
in the day. Since I'm alater person, I'm not a bit morning
person, so I had their wakeup time to be nine thirty in the
morning. So from nine thirty inthe morning until about ten thirty, of
course they need to eat breakfast, clean up their room, wash your face,
(20:26):
brush their teeth, and kind ofjust get ready for their day,
you know, change out of theirnightclothes things like that. Then from eleven
o'clock until one, they need tofind a book that they want to read
because they have to have a summarycompleted by Friday of each week on what
they read on the chapter book.So they have to read about the book.
(20:49):
Also, they have spelling words theyhave to do daily because I also
kill them spelling tests on each Fridayjust to of course quiz them get them
ready for school. So um,so that's from eleven to one. I
have a side rule that there's noelectronics before one o'clock PM, So that's
why I do go ahead and placetheir book word and their spelling work in
(21:12):
the middle of the day like that, so after one o'clock. Once one
o'clock comes, they're able to tomake their lunch between one to two thirty
and also doing that time they're ableto play with their electronics, watch TV,
you know, pretty much free time. From two thirty into four,
they need to pick back up onsome type of studies, you know,
(21:33):
whichevery one they choose on some days, that's when we actually do our experiments.
So for instance, next week we'llbe doing the whole you know,
old school volcano experiment with the bakingsoda and ben and gurden things like that.
So that's the time that I haveplanned out for experiments. And then
from four thirty until six, theyneed to go outside and do some type
(21:56):
of playtime for thurna minutes, sothat could eat, they be walking the
neighborhood with us, or they cango outside and skate, throw a ball,
play with bubbles, whatever they needto do. After that, they'll
come back in. They'll eat aroundseven or thirty, and then from that
point on they have their free timeand being bad by ten. That was
(22:18):
a lot of talking on the topof my head. So yeah, so
that's pretty much how their schedule is. So again, if you have kids
who wake up you know, seveno'clock in the morning, of course just
the time for them. If youknow your kids work better you know later
at night, I mean later inthe evening versus being on tasks in the
morning. Definitely switch up, youknow, for them to you know,
(22:41):
do their work in the evening versusduring midday. So of course, just
make it, make it fun, make it for you, make sure that
it works with your schedule. Ofcourse, because I know a lot of
us parents, if we do havethe luxury, we are working from home,
so you want to make sure itkind of coincide with what you're doing.
So, for instance, since Itake majority of my consultation costs on
(23:03):
two says afternoons, that's the reasonwhy I went ahead and placed their outside
time from four o'clock until about six, because I know I can you know,
call the people I need to callat that time. So yeah,
it's just it's a lot of movingparts. But once you actually get it
corrected and down, well, onceyou get it correct and down pat,
(23:25):
it definitely makes your life way moreeasier. All right, So that's up.
It's gonna be about the home refreshSo um, of course, since
COVID hit majority of us, um, we've just been chilling the house.
You know, we're being home girls, home bodies. So of course that
means at your house it gets firstof all more messy. Second of all,
(23:48):
just you start to accumulating a lotof things like for me, I'm
an Amazon shopper, as majority ofyou guys know, and this past week
was lightning week, so you canonly imagine how the packages are looking at
my house right now. However,I will say everything that I bought I
needed, so I don't feel thatbad. But again it's just oh okay,
(24:10):
package came. Oh, a packagecame, oh no, yeah,
another package came. Oh shit, this package arrived early. Shout out to
Amazon. I like it. Thatwas a one day er. That that's
why I like to see. Sowith that being said, um, the
first home refreshed, I'm gonna gothrough. It's gonna be about, of
course, your kitchen. Um.The reason why I picked the kitchen is
(24:33):
again, like I mentioned before,we are cooking a lot in our kitchen,
um, three times a day, sometimes four. I'm tired of kicking.
To be honest, I cannot waittill everything gets back safe and that
I can go out and just grabthings. But um, again that's that's
where we're spending majority are of ourtime in the kitchen. So I just
(24:55):
decided, you know, to beable, you know, to just get
that off. As for us withthis home refresh So the first thing that
we're gonna talk about is who don'twant to talk about first? If you
don't, oh, the first thing, okay, well, actually the first
thing I need to say is letme go ahead and give you guys some
(25:18):
ground rules about organizing because I know, um, it can be overwhelming from
some if you're just not you know, if you just don't have that kind
of organizing bone in your body. There there are a lot of people out
here who are just natural organizers,Like they're just their brain thinks systematically,
and you know, they're able tojust keep their household, you know,
(25:41):
squared away. Then there's some peoplewho are systematically organizing their brain who can
also teach other people how to beorganized. That's me because I'm a virgo,
So that's me. Virgos are perfectanyway, hallam. So the first
one of the ground rules to youknow, being and organize are saying organized,
it's that everything must have its placed. That can go from keys,
(26:06):
shoes, food, toys, snack, everything. I promise you if you
if you go ahead and just havethat mentality that everything has its place,
and I mean even the smallest thing, you would definitely first of all,
be less stressed trying to find things, because the last thing you want is
to be like, oh, wherehave anybody seen my keys? And you're
(26:27):
searching the couch and all this stuff. If you just, you know,
place your keys in a bowl nextto you know, the desk, to
the door or wherever you want toput it, you will know for a
fact your keys are there. It'sout of habit, yes baby, huh
by minutes, by minutes, okay, huh no, give me five minutes,
(26:52):
by minutes. Okay, you're notsupposed to have that. I'm gonna
say sorry about that, you guys. It's mommy doing duty. Got but
um, so yeah, so justmake sure that everything has this place would
definitely cut out a lot um asfar as keeping you know, your house
(27:14):
organized and clean. Um. Ipromise you again, if you follow this
rule, even if you don't havethe pretty containers, your house would definitely
be definitely the one percent better. All right. So the first thing now
I want to discuss. It's aum about the kitchen're organizing. It's your
junk drawer, so everyone has tojump drawer. Um, hopefully you just
(27:36):
have one jump drawer. Um junkGeorge. It doesn't necessarily mean that they
have to be junkie. We couldsay that now. Um, so the
way you can actually organize you nobaby, that's my microphone. I thought you're
gonna go play. You want tosay hi? So hi everyone? No,
you gotta use your words, beclear? Said hi everyone? Hik
(27:59):
you? No said hi? Everyevery one said I hollow? No said
I what here? What's what?Thank you? But it's stuck in your
(28:19):
ears? Your ears? Okay? The sound one, No, it's no
sound on this microphone because I'm recordingthe podcast. Yeah, but it's mimmy's
microphone. Yes, okay, Igotta finish, and now I gotta finish
my mind. Dude, A heck, guess what if you give me five
(28:40):
minutes, I go get your pop. Okay, all right, go watch
you be? Then we go geta pop. Go bye, So watch
you be? You get what youget? Booked? No? Do you
want blue book? Okay? Allright, we'll go play. No you
(29:03):
want to be? Okay, thankyou? Okay, I'll give you that,
all right, Please please leave fiveminutes five minutes around all right,
Sorry about that, you guys.I just had to have a mommy moment
that I had to actually stop therecording. So yes, all right,
(29:26):
So back to junk drors because allright, So, like I said,
just because it's named that John Georddoes not mean that it necessarily has to
be junkie. So, um,a couple of ways you can, Ashley
organize your John draw and make surethat it stays as clean as possible.
It's first, only limit yourself toone junk drawer. Anything you can't fit
(29:48):
or you don't need, throw itout. So of course you know two
pits that are kind of just outscraggling around. Photos away, matches that
just out scraggling around, throw thataway on things that you really honestly haven't
used over the past couple of months. I normally give my clients, I
say, if you haven't touched it, Like, if you haven't touched your
(30:11):
slash revisited in the past three months, you need to throw it away.
Personally in my household, if youhaven't touched it in at least two weeks,
I'm throwing the shit away like, and you ain't gonna miss it.
Um that goes for toys, pencils, pens, everything like that. So
yeah, so I the kids knowif if you if you don't want your
(30:33):
mom to throw it away. Theyknow they need to put their stuff up.
So yeah, so anything you don'tneed or can't fit, make sure
you throw it out on. Secondly, as far as when it comes to
the Jaunt drawer, you need toedit your items so pretty much. That
means only placing the quantity of itemsthat you need. For example, if
you have a pack of batteries thatyou bought from Target, you know you
(30:56):
ain't go in there. You justwent through the drive through. You know,
you just put in your little car, they brought it out to you
or some rubber bands. Only takeout the amount that you need for that
drawer, and then for the restplace it in another area of your house,
like a storage closet, you know, some type of being that you
can just keep extra office supplies.By doing this, of course, it
(31:18):
won't clutter up the John drawer. And secondly, you will know how much
you can keep up with how muchthings that you have. And also lastly,
you're able to get things out oftheir original containers. I'm go ahead
and say this. For me,being a professional organizer, one of my
pet piece is people keeping things intheir original containers. First of all,
(31:42):
I just think that's just gross becausethose containers have been through factories that have
been touched by other people hands, especially like now with the whole COVID thing
going on. So I just makeit a habit that once I actually buy
something, I take it out ofthe packaging and either you know, I
have a lot of bins, buteven if someone who don't have bins or
(32:05):
you know, just starting out,I used to put stuff in ziplock bass
and just label them like it canbe something just as simple as that.
But just just make sure you getit out of the original packaging, especially
nowadays because again COVID's out there.I know they say you can't get it
from packaging, but hell, whoknows. Nobody knows shit right now,
so you know, just begin tostay side definitely, you know, remove
(32:29):
it from packaging or whatever. Allright. So number two was just edit
the item. So of course, the quantity of items you need in that
drawer to make sure stay nice andneat, that's the only amount that you
need to put in there. Numberthree, of course, you want to
group like items together. So ifyou want to go out and purchase,
you know, some drawer inserts,it can either be you know, a
(32:52):
little bitty boxes or whatnot. Youcan put it in there, like you
know, the little like you're gettingfrom the dollar store. A little bin
say, you can put in yourdrawers, or you can actually be fancy
and go to the container store andget a your organizer like dun. You
guys should do that too. Soum, so once you addit, you
(33:12):
want to group like items together. So for instance, if you have small
hand tools in your junk organizer, you've got not organizer, you're junk um
your junk uh I'm boy said cabinetdrawer. Yes, jump jew you can
put all the screws, plyers, you know, nuts and bolts all together
in one bin um. They alsogo from matches and lighters and candles if
(33:38):
you are the kind that can keepyou know a lot of lighters and matches
and things like that, that canalso go on one bin um. Just
whatever you have, just kind ofyou know, look through and see how
you can categorize everything and just umjust organize it in your junk drawer from
there, all right. The fourththing, um, this is the fourth
(34:00):
thing. This is the last thing, but it's the very most important thing
ever. It's to label. Labellabel, label like labeling is heaven send.
It's your best friend, I promiseso. Um. Of course,
if you want to keep everything organizedand have it stay organized and make sure
that it's easy, you know, for your family to keep it organized,
(34:22):
definitely use labels when honestly, noteven with the junk jewis with everything,
we use labels. Of course. It makes everything have its place. So
if you want to label, forinstance, batteries, you know the kids
would now know, okay, insteadof asking you, hey, mam,
whors the batteries because my box,you know, my s box controller die?
(34:45):
They will know where the batteries are. You gotta do it's your shown
one time and say hey, itsays batteries right here on the label,
and they won't have to ask youanymore. Um me personally, that's how
we do it here. Once thekids see that all the batteries stre going
from my junk drawer, that youknow where we put the things that they
know not to ask me if it'sbeen a short amount of time. So
(35:07):
for instance, if they've been playingspots for a week, I give them
batteries for two weeks at a time. If they've been playing for less than
a week and the ships go out, they know they need to find something
else to play with. That's it. So make sure you label, label,
label, all right. So nextcategory we're gonna move to, Um,
it's pantries. So the first thing, um, of course about pantries
(35:30):
and made to make sure that thestate's organizing clean is to use open bins.
Um, My family and I aredefinitely I see it, it's broken,
it's blue, it's a ball,it's not a ball. Oh my
gosh, crazy, like I wassaying, my definitely, my family and
(35:55):
I all right, I'm definitely aminimalist. So have again having to you
know, store our products in theoriginal packaging. We just don't do.
Even the kids, they take theirstuff out their original packaging and you know,
put it up into beings they have, or just put it up in
a space where they dedicated that itemto go. And if y'all want more
(36:17):
information than about living a minimalist lifestyle, definitely let me know, drop a
comment or you know, hit meup on my email. Um, I
could definitely talk talk about how tolive m minimalistically, how it changed my
life, how it changed everyone's lifethat's in this household. I mean to
(36:37):
be honest we run Berry trim asfar as with clothing and shoes and things
like that, Like we have ourvices of you know, a couple of
things I like, we like,Like for instance, I'm a big hand
bad person, but I don't havelike thirty forty hand bads. They just
yes, remy, I see, okay, but I have a lot of
(37:02):
I have handbats, but I haveI have plenty of hand bats to be
able to match with multiple of umof outfits. So that's definitely, um,
that's that's definitely what it is like. Honestly, I don't see how
people have Like, for instance, you know when you're looking at these really
nice clauses and it's all organized andthe shoes are like all the way up
(37:27):
to the ceiling. When I seethings like that, I'm like, damn,
Like who can wear all these shoes? You know at this time?
Like you like, there's no wayyou can remember that you have like a
you know, a blue polka dottedshoe that will match with this particular outfit.
Like I'm such a super basic person. Like I have a black shoe.
(37:50):
I have a couple of black shoesin different styles. I have a
couple of ten shoes that are differentstyles that I have tennis shoes, super
colorful, they match, you knowwhatever, not how one one pair of
black tennis shoes. Like I'm superI'm just I'm gonna say I'm just super
simple because the things that I haveare cute. It's just that I'm like
if I first of all, Ijust don't feel like I would have enough
(38:12):
room for all those shoes. Andsecondly, I just want to remember,
like I don't feel like I wouldget my money's worth of buying a lot
of shoes, Like I'm going toforget that I have this shoe. So
I try to keep it simple. You know, have some really cute shoes
that can kind of go with alot of things and then call it a
day. But that's neither here northere, because we not even talk about
clauses. Talk about pantries right now. So, like I said, so
(38:36):
number one, use open bins.By using open bins and grouping them in
dedicated spots, you are able tostore more, Plus your family and friends
can quickly find what they are lookingfor. So first thing up, it's
used open bins. Second thing is, when you do use bins, make
sure they are clear and also airtight, so in the air tight and
(39:00):
it's honestly go more so for canisters, so like things that you will put
your grains in, or your sugarsor your cereal, of course, make
sure that they're air type because theywill honestly have your items last longer.
For it to be clear, youknow, you'll be able to see when
you're running out of items, Sowhen you're low. So if you know
(39:21):
you have a you know your youramazing pantry, you know your dream pantry,
and you open up the door andall you see these pretty clear bands
being labeled, you're able to seeeverything. Um, that's that's what you
know, that's what we're trying toget to at this point. So use
clear bins. Make sure that yourcanisters are air type because they're the best.
(39:43):
Um. And that's pretty much yetabout about bins. And of course,
last but not least, it's labels. How that hurt my bad.
It's you know, labels, usinglabels. I mentioned this before when we
talked about the junk drawer. Howyou know, LA will definitely be your
best friend. So when it comesto labeling a pantry, the first thing
(40:05):
that you want to do is justestablish a general category for each shelf,
so that can be a snatchelf, can good shelf, and cooking supplies that
can be your your general labeling oryour general categories. After that you can
actually you know, get a littlebit more specific on your labeling. So
(40:27):
once you get to the snack, you know, the snack level of the
shelves, you can start having aopen band that's clear boom such as chips,
cookies, breakfast, breakfast bars. You know, things that you eat
that's in your pantryes and that youare constantly keeping life. For instance,
one thing that I keep in mypantry all the time is um oatmeal for
(40:51):
the kids. Like it's super fastand super easy for them to cook in
the morning, and you know,I keep a lot of it with different
flavors. So I do have aclear bend in my pantry that it's marked
oatmeal. That I take the oatmealout of the box, out of the
original boxes and place them all kneeand clean into the clear bind. So
(41:12):
that's definitely, you know, areal life example on how I use this
method. Also, if you're nota bend person, but you have a
lot of snats, I know, you guys probably seeing this hack. It's
been out for a couple of yearsnow. But if you get a clear
shoe, clear shoe organizer that goesthat hangs over the door, it's a
(41:34):
great way to actually organize your snatsas well on your pantry door. So
for instance, I have that also, So on my pantry door, I
have the clear shoe organizer. Iwant to say it's about five rolls,
so it's five then four slots andthere I have I have neutral grain bars
that's in a couple of them. What else is there? Hod On Boost
(42:00):
calling hope please, I'm back.So yes, I have a couple of
I have neutral grain bars and oneof the slots. We have plastic forward
sand spoons and one of the slotsand another slot, and then we have
like different types of snats um youknow, cranberrys, things like that.
Just something that's easier for the kidsto get to. And of course you
know the two year old, he'sable to have something that's on his level
(42:22):
as well. So yes, ifyou do not want to invest in having
the clear bins just yet, oryou need something fast and easy to kind
of organize your pantry until you getthe clear binds, definitely do the clear
shoot over the door shoot organizer. You can actually find that out on Amazon
um just you know, it's aquick, little little search. You'll be
(42:44):
able to pull it up. Allright, So we talked about use the
open bins. Who talked about howimportant it is to use clear bands slash
air tight canisters on the last thing, but of course not least. Oh,
we also talked about labels things likethat as far as you know,
make sure you label of course yourshelves and then also you know you label
(43:04):
what's on the shelf, all right, Nesting up, and it's the last
thing. Actually it's gonna just beorganizing your kitchen. So when it comes
to just overall organizing your kitchen, one way that I like to organize is
by zones. So when you divideyour kitchen up into zones, it just
makes it easier for you to dedicateyourself to cleaning up a zone when we
(43:29):
do get to that point. Andalso of course again havn't everything has its
placed. So two zones that Ican actually you know, talk about as
for its examples for this episode willbe a breakfast zone and your dining room
zone. If you have a formerdining room. So with the breakfast zone,
(43:50):
when it comes to you know, planning your zones, making sure that
it stays organized, making sure thatit stays supplied with the things you need,
you do need to sit down andjust think about some of the items
that you use daily for breakfast. So for me, if I was making
a breakfast zone, I would definitelyhave my Ninja my Ninja Mitsta there because
I eat smoothes in the morning,so that would be there, and I
(44:14):
also have my caread there because sometimesI do drink coffee as well. I
would have Neutra grain bars in abowl just for some on the go items,
and also I would have my fruitbowl there just to kind of grab
on the go as well. Soyou would just need again, just like
I did, you just need tothink about, Okay, what are some
of the things that I always eithergrab and go to or I use daily
(44:37):
that needs to be in this zoneto make everything easier for me in the
morning. Because when you do that, instead of having, for instance,
your care red on one side ofthe kitchen, your fruit on another side
of the kitchen, your blender onone side of the kitchen, you're working
harder to get your stuff together inthe morning when everything could just be in
(44:58):
one place other zone that of courseI said, I would mention for example,
would be like your dining room.So I know, like for my
house I have, I do havea former dinner room, which I have
a closet that sits right next tothe dinner room. So in that particular
closet, um, I have allmy items store that if I would like
(45:19):
to throw like a formal dinner partyor just you know, want to switch
out the the tablescape for the season, I have everything stored there right next
to it. So again, itjust makes it easier for you to be
able to switch, do you know, multitasking. If someone's coming over last
minute, like hey, I'm bringingover dinner, you can always you know,
(45:42):
just grab your mats out of there, your silverware, your forts instead
of having to go all the wayto the kitchen. I'm grabbing you know,
your forts, your silverware, youryour mats and things, everything that
you would need would be right there. Um, you know, right there,
hands on pretty much, you know, just right there, Lord g
joh I'm getting hi, I'm gettingtired. I've been talking for four three
(46:04):
minutes, all right, So thatis that would conclude my actual home refresh
Um portion of the podcast. Ihope some of the things that I actually
mentioned definitely work for you. Ifyou have any questions, of course,

(46:51):

schedules and their lives together pretty muchjust help them live their best life and
be productive. Like yeah, that'sme, all right. So that's the
end of this episode. I hopeyou guys are again enjoying the summer of
what you can enjoy. I know, being stuck in the house. I'm

ass at home because I love myhouse and I could stay here for days.
