Speaker 1 (00:02):
Good morning, family, Good morning God bless you. Welcome back
to the morning Devo. A new week, a new day,
a new start. Amen. And we're in the Christmas season
from the time of this recording, a man, If that
matters to anybody. A lot of people take Christmas season
as pagan, ritualistic holiday season, but I take it as
us a way to celebrate the Lord Jesus. Amen. And

(00:23):
you don't have to give me a lot of reasons
to celebrate the Lord Jesus. We're gonna celebrate his birth right,
his life, his death, and his resurrection. We're gonna celebrate
that daily because he is the ultimate good, a man.
He's the only one who is good. He is God alone,
a man, and he is worthy of our honor, worship,
and our praise. So it is what it is Christmas season. Man.

(00:46):
Today I'm calling this one Christmas presence. And it's not
presents like gifts. It's presence. P R E s E
n c E. Amen, p R E s E n
c E Christmas presence. So we know, right, we're in
a time that a lot of hustle and bustle for
a lot of people, a lot of families are stressed

(01:06):
out during the season because of whatever reason. It could
be of lack of finances, it could be maybe they
don't have the holiday spirit in them, Amen, maybe they
don't understand what Christmas really is all about. Or maybe
you're just a scrooge like I sometimes get right because
the commercialism of the season. But biblically, Amen, it's okay

(01:29):
to celebrate the Lord Jesus and his birth. I know
it doesn't say that we should celebrate his birthday or
his birth, Amen. But the Lord himself Amen, is so
good that he's worthy to be celebrated. He's worthy to
be honored, He's worthy, worthy, worthy to be praised. Amen.

(01:50):
And I'm dodging words here because it's early in the morning.
But in the season filled with shopping lists, right, you
might have a shopping lift if you're blessed enough amen,
to have the financial you know, blessing to have a
large shopping list. You have travel plans, if you're blessed
enough to be traveling and wrapping paper, right, you want

(02:13):
to wrap the gifts. We can easily chase the presence
and miss the presence. And man, we can easily chase
after the gifts and miss the presence of Holy Spirit.
Miss the presence of God in the season. Miss the
presence of the Lord, the Christ of Christmas. Amen, Sis Jumaane,
I see you. Good morning, God blessed your sister Joanne.

(02:34):
It's good to see you in the morning, devo. Amen.

we pray with shit us out for like sixty seconds, Amen,
And on the other side of those sixty seconds, we'll
hit up Matthew chapter one, verse number twenty three. You ready,

(03:58):
I'm ready. Let's go for it. Father. I think thank
you that this is your season, this is your holiday.
You deserve all the glory, you deserve, all the celebration,
all the word, worthy of all the praise, honor, respect. Amen.
It is about you, Lord Jesus, not about a Christmas tree,
not about the gifts, not about Santa Claus, none of that.

(04:21):
It's all about your birth, your life, your death, and
your resurrection. Amen. You are the message of good News.
The Gospels all about you, and the prophets and the
Old Covenant prophesied about what you were going to do
when you were going to be born and what place
you were going to be born, Amen, And that you
completed those prophecies because you are the completion of Yahweh.

(04:45):
I thank you, Lord God for your just your gift,
and your presence that brings liberty, that brings freedom, that
brings encouragement, that brings love, that brings grace, that brings mercy.
That you're the only one that could save our souls
and satisfy our souls and give us the abundant life
to live on this side of eternity. But in the meantime,

(05:07):
Lord God, we would serve you. I thank you, Lord
God for the gift of service, for the gift of faith.
And I pray, Lord God, I had your protection over us,
for my brothers and sisters here in the country, in
the United States, and all around the world. I pray
had your protection over myself, my wife, our children, our
grandchildren right now, our family members, my mom, my mother

(05:30):
in law, those who are still alive as parents in
our family, a man from the very oldest to the
very youngest, and every single person in between. And I
pray this very same prayer deadly for all those who
are listening and watching right now, for every single person
that's listening on the other side of this mic and
watching and listening on the other side of the screen,
and the powerful matchless the name above every name, name

(05:53):
of the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray this by faith
and those who agree, we say Amen to the Amen.
Help me share this out. See seconds. When we come back,
We'll get right into today's Morning Devo. I'll be right
back all right, Man, I got caught up sharing for

(07:53):
those groups. Thank you for the groups. Allow me to
share this out. We've got a lot of groups coming
in and sharing this for us. Amen. Manube is Islam
God bless you as well. Thank you for coming to
the Morning Devo. My friend, it's good to see you
on the Morning Devo. Amen. Thank you Team Jesus, Amen
for allowing us to share this on your group. Amen.
Who got some more groups coming in? Thank you so much.

(08:15):
I'm really grateful for that. It helps out the cause
of what we're trying to do. Basically, what we're trying
to do here on the Morning Devo A man, we're
trying to encourage people to get into the world of
God for themselves, Amen, so that way they can experience
the power of God's word that's alive act of sharpening
at any double ed sword. The power of God's Word

(08:35):
is able to transform and renew and restore and redeem.
And that's a way of introduction to those who don't
know the Lord Jesus. Amen. From Genesis to Revelation, the
main main character, the main person is the Lord Jesus,
so they will get an experience by way of Holy Spirit.
I love you, Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you. That's the
group right there that allow me to share this on

(08:57):
their page as well, So shout out to all the groups. Amen.
Smith's presence. That's what today's morning devo is called. We're
gonna be in Matthew chapter number one, verse number twenty three.
Let me get that ready for the screen. For those
who are listening, no worries, no problems. I understand that
you're just listening, Amen, audio. But we're gonna start watching.
For those who are watching, Amen, we're gonna read a
word for words so that way you won't miss out

(09:19):
on anything that we're doing or anything that we're saying. Amen,
here we go. Christmas Presents. Amen, p R E S
E n c E. Presence like the presence of the Lord. Amen.
Presence of the Lord. So let's go for it. Matthew
Chapter one, verse twenty three. The Bible says, behold, the
virgin shall be with child and give birth to a son,

(09:43):
and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which means when
it's translated, God with us. Amen. And of course this
was prophesied in Isaiah chapter seven, verse number fourteen, the virgin.
We know who that virgin is now marry, will be

(10:06):
with child. We know who that child is now, right.
And so this is a prophetic moment. This is a prophecy.
This is something that did not happen, but was going
to happen. Amen. And it wasn't a New Testament prophecy.
It was a repeat of an Old Testament prophecy. A
man a message from God's Angel, a man, a message

(10:30):
from the prophetic power of God's powerful word. Amen, that
this virgin married shall be with child. See be with
child and give birth to a son, and they shall
call his name, And they, meaning Joseph Mary shall call
his name Emmanuel. Interesting, right, when translated means God with us.

(10:57):
So God's word is honest. God's word is clear. God's
word is prophetic, right, not pathetic, but prophetic and God's
promises in God's ways, and God's tremendous love and grace
for his people, for his children, for his creation. It
is what it is according to God's powerful word. So

(11:19):
we can trust in God's word. We can rely on
God's word a man. We could add to Jesus by
way of Holy Spirit to give us an understanding of
his word during this Christmas season, because it's not about
the Christmas tree. I agree when people say, oh, you know,
we're not supposed to worship the things that God created, right,

(11:39):
that's in the scripture. But we're supposed to worship the
creates horror more than the creation a man. We're supposed
to come together to unite and love and unify. Amen,
in unity for one purpose, one plan, one kingdom, one God,
one faith. Amen. Because we are destined. Our destiny has
been changed. We were on our way to a place

(12:03):
separated from the Lord Jesus Christ for all eternity since birth.
And then God gave us the opportunity to repent, to
turn from our wicked ways. And a lot of people
don't think this is fair. A lot of people say, oh,
say this is not well because we have to do
this listen. Now, one person who is saved, that is
honestly saved right, can say that they were forced into

(12:25):
the Kingdom of God. None of us could say that
God gave us an opportunity, a way to connect with
Him and repentance, which means turning from our wicked ways
right and changing our mind and turning to the righteous one.
The Lord Jesus. Admitting that we need we are sinners,
and we need to be forgiven for our sins, asks Jesus,

(12:45):
the Lord who forgives sins, to forgive you. He will
place his spirit to live inside of you, a man,
holy spirit God, and then you will be confessing the
Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and savior. Everywhere
you go, whether it's by doing what I'm doing right
here on this platform, whether it's by gesture or hug,
whether it's by preaching the Gospel in the streets, highways

(13:05):
and byways. Amen, whether it's going to church and looking
for unbelievers inside the church building. Yes, inside the church building,
because we are the church. And to go ahead and evangelize, Amen,
like I do a church. Amen, I look for people
who are maybe disconnected when I try to come along
them whether it's in silent prayer. Sometimes you know they

(13:28):
don't want to be close to anybody at that time. Amen. Physically,
but the presence of the Lord, Amen, Holy Spirit. God
will guide you to the people that need to hear
His word, his message. Maybe you'll even get a prophetic message,
word of knowledge for that person for that time, for
that season, Amen, during this Christmas season, during this holiday season,

(13:50):
it might be something that someone has been praying about,
and God will be answering the prayer through you or
through me, Amazing Amen. So Christmas presence. Christmas is just
about the gifts under the tree, right, It's about the
God who hung on a tree so he could be
with us forever. So the symbolization of the Christmas tree

(14:14):
a man, you could change your perception and you could
change the idea of that symbol, and you can remind
yourself that there was one a perfect gift, a man,
perfect sacrifice, the perfect one was hung on a tree,
a man of some wood. A man is a metaphor
because he was placed on a wooden rugged cross an

(14:34):
my Jehovah witness friends think he was placed on the
steak with his wrists, you know, above his head. We
as believers in Christ, Jesus, we think he was stretched out.
Descripture more honestly says he was stretched on crucifixion, a

(14:55):
crucified stretched out. But he is that Jesus Christ was
hung on a tree to sacrifice his own life, to
lay down his life for us, for we could forever
be with him. A man, he bridged the gap between
God and man. Right, he created a way for redemption,
for us to get redeemed. A man. He created a

(15:16):
way for us to be forgiven for our sins. A man.
And he's the real true reason for Christmas. But Christmas
presence like somebody that's presence, not presents under the tree,
but presence a man. His presence is felt throughout the
whole entire world. When you experience God a man, you
know for sure that he is the one that's presenting himself.

(15:39):
He is the one who is there, Jehovah Shamer, the
God who is there. He is the one who is Love,
the God of love, the God is love, right, God
is love a man. You experience that so Jesus. We
know because of the scripture was prophesied and the Book
of Isaiah and other places throughout the scriptures from the prophets.
But he was prophesied Amen to be the coming Messiah,

(16:03):
the savior of the world, a man where he was
going to be born, a man of the virgin birth.
This was all prophesied before it happened. Isaiah. They say
between seven hundred, eight hundred, maybe even nine hundred years
before Jesus stepped on the scene. The prophet Isaiah was
used by God to prophesied the coming Messiah. So we
know that the virgin is married, and we know that

(16:26):
she was conceived, that she conceived, will conceive, and she
has conceived and gave birth to a son, and that
son was named Emmanuel. Jesus God with us. So Jesus
didn't come to bring a moment. He came to bring himself.
Jesus didn't come to bring a present for your Christmas tree.

(16:47):
He came to bring himself. Not a temporary feeling, right,
but a permanent promise. Right. It's not a temporary fix,
it's a permanent right fix for our lives. Not a
temporary feeling, but a permanent promise. Not a seasonal tradition.

(17:09):
I know this is where people get stuck and hung
up on. Well. The tradition. The traditions are man made,
and traditions are pagan and this that and the third
you know, and ba humbug and all that stuff. That's
why I could get trapped into being a scrooge myself.
But I'm realizing more and more that if I keep
my focus in any holiday season on the purpose and

(17:30):
the plan of God in my life and through my life,
and for your life as well. Amen, you know what
I'm talking about. You start realizing that, wait a minute,
It's okay to celebrate our savior because we were saved
because he saved us. It's okay to celebrate our eternal
life because he's the one who offered it to us.
It's okay to celebrate his birth because if it wasn't

(17:52):
for his birth and the way he was birthed into
this world, Amen, we wouldn't have the Gospel message if
it wasn't for his life, if it wasn't for his death,
if it wasn't for his resurrection, we wouldn't have anything
to talk about a value, right. But we have a
risen savior, Amen, And during any season, it's okay to
celebrate the Lord Jesus Yeshi. Wahamashi. Amen. He is the

(18:15):
anointed son of God. He is the completion of Jehovah,
the completion of Yahweh. Amen. He is the one that
was prophesied and fulfilled the prophecy when he showed up
on a scene and on that cross. Theologians say that
he completed over three hundred prophecies. I believe a man
on the cross right then and there, and his prophecies

(18:36):
yet to happen, a man in God's way of thinking,
it already has happened. But in our way of seeing
life in real time, as we're in this time that
we're still waiting for the comeback. Amen. The Lord Jesus
practiced open the sky and to come back for his church.
In the meantime, less celebrate the fact that He is
present in our hearts and in our minds and in

(18:57):
our lives. Amen. In our families, it's not about what
we have under the tree or what we don't have
under the tree. During Christmas season, is about the one
who is hung on the tree, the Promised Messiah, Amen,
the one who provides for every single one of our knees,
Jehovah Jabra Amen. We don't want to miss that presence.
We don't want to miss his presence. Amen. So let's

(19:17):
go for it. So this Christmas, just take it slow,
slow down right, breathe, Remember, don't get into the hustle
and bustle of I have to get all these things.
And you know that it's a struggle for you right
now financially or maybe you feel like, man, I just
lost the loved one during the season. I need to
just tone it down, amen. I don't want to overwhelm myself.

(19:40):
It's okay. People grieve differently, people you know, respond differently
to certain situations in life. But I don't think God
wants us to be stressed out during what it's supposed
to be a joyous season. He doesn't want to stressed
out because we can't do x y Z. I used
to go bonkers and be really guilty for not being

(20:02):
able to get every single person in my family, especially
the kids, something a gift. Amen. And I was creating
scenarios in my mind about the parents telling me, oh,
you didn't even give my kid XYZ and never had
that conversation. Maybe those conversations are in their minds, Amen.
But I have a simple answer. I don't have it

(20:22):
all I don't have it all financially, but I do
have it all in Christ. Amen. So it shouldn't be
offensive to no one or anyone. If you can't do
something as a gift, amen to someone else. But if
they connect with you and contact you, or if you
connect with the children, we have a gift, ultimate gift.
They might not understand it, they might not like it

(20:43):
at the time, but you have the gift of the
Gospel to share with every single child in your family. Amen.
And that doesn't cost you anything, and God will bless
you for that. Amen. I know I've been blessed for
sharing the Gospel to the younger people in my family. Amen.
Whether they believe it or not sometimes yet to be seen.
But the point is that we have a gift that

(21:04):
keeps on giving. The purpose and promises of God. A
man is evident in the life of all his children,
and Jesus Christ is the only one that gives us
the right to be called sons of God. To the
right to be called children of God is only because
of what he did and his presence. When Jesus shows
up by way of his spirit, when the spirit of

(21:25):
the Lord is in the building, when the spirit of
The Lord is in your home, in your workplace, in
your school. There is power, there's liberty, there's love, there's grace,
there's mercy. His presence outweighs any presence that you could
put under the tree a man, or you could give
to anybody physically a man. We have the power of
the Gospel that lives within us and through us. Amen.

(21:47):
So this Christmas, just take it slow, slowed down, breathe
and remember you don't have to earn God's presence. His
presence like Jehovah Shaman. He is the God who is here.
He is the God who is there. He is present. Amen.
You don't have to earn that. You can't earn it. Amen.
You can't earn God's favor. You can't do enough good

(22:11):
works to get into heaven. Amen. Perfect people will be
in heaven. And you're gonna say I already hear it. Well,
nobody's perfect, sam, So how to we get into heaven.
It's called grace. God's riches at Christ's expense. It's called grace. Amen.
You're not going to find good people in heaven. You're
going to find saved people in heaven. You're not going

(22:33):
to find imperfect people. In heaven. You're going to find
perfect people in heaven. God's looking for his perfect people. Amen.
Which when we're born again literally or supernaturally, we are
being perfected. So that way when we get to heaven,
we're gonna be perfect, just the way God planned it. Amen. Perfect,
so perfect people will be in heaven. That's right. I

(22:55):
said it. You could look it up in the scriptures. Amen.
And it's not because of anything we could do. Is
all because of God's grace. Sister Joanne says, sometimes I
ask myself when I go into a store, I find
a store empty. When I turn around, I see the
store so full behind me. When I'm in line and
people come and left and them right, and a lot
of people say that I bring that I bring to

(23:17):
people there. Amen. Maybe you do phraise the Lord. Amen.
Wherever you go, Amen, the power of God goes. So
maybe you are attracting people to those stories, so the
stories could be blessed as well. Thank you for sharing that.
That's interesting. So you don't have to search for God's presence.
God's presence is within you if you're born again. Now,
the thing is, if you're not born again, you don't

(23:39):
know what that means. That means you're saved by God's
grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone a man. If
you haven't taken care of that, and you're looking at
the whole, you know Christian communities around you, Amen, celebrating
this Lord, this Jesus, this Messiah, the Baby Jesus. You're
seeing all of that happening, but yet you can't connect. Amen.

(24:00):
Care of that right now? Take care of that today. Amen.
Get into a personal relationship with the power of God
through his spirit because of what the Son Jesus did
on that cross a cavalry. Amen. So how do you
do that? You just admit that you need to be
forgiven for your sins. Just ad minute, go to the
one who can forgive you, which is the Lord Jesus Christ.

(24:22):
He hears you, Amen, if you have an open, honest heart,
he will hear you. Amen. He will not turn his
back on you. He will welcome you into his presence,
welcome you into His kingdom. Amen. And now you will
be filled with His Holy Spirit. And then he will
take it from there. You and Holy Spirit God, the

(24:43):
Spirit of God, who leads you into all truth, just
the way he leads me into all truth. And every
single one of the believers right there in this world
on this podcast, in this live Amen. People that are
coming later to watch or listen, that are born again
can testify that the Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit God will
lead us, Amen, into all truth. Never will the Holy

(25:05):
Spirit lead us since to sin. Never will the Holy
Spirit lie to us. Never will the Holy Spirit put
us in darkness. Never will the Holy Spirit leave us
in lack. Never will the Holy Spirit forget about His
promises through his word for us, And he will remind
us of what we need to know according to his word,
his plan, his purpose for every single one of us, individually, corporately. Amen.

(25:30):
It's an amazing, amazing God that we have. Amen. So
you don't have to earn God's presence, you don't have
to search for it, you don't have to qualify for it. Amen.
Who does the qualifications? God himself will qualify you, qualify
me to do the works for His kingdom. A man
to use us, to be with us, a man to

(25:52):
be in us because of his presence. We're talking about
Christmas presence, not presents like under the tree, not presence
that you amen, and give to somebody. A man's talking
about his presence when he shows up, Jehovah Shama, when
God shows up, when he is here, When he's there,
there's something that's going to happen in your life. There's
gonna be changed. It's gonna be celebration, is gonna be grace,

(26:16):
it's gonna be mercy. It's going to be joy during
the season. Right, Joy to the world. Right. The joy
of the Lord is our strength. We have it so
unwrapped the moment, because the moment we have right now
is because of the gift that God has given us.
So unwrap that moment, receive his peace. The world has

(26:37):
this phony peace that the world offers, and it's always
if you look at the world's way of offering peace,
it always has to do with something materialistic, something that
you have to do, something that you have to earn,
something that you have to do to get. But God says,
I already did all the doing, so now you do
all the getting. We're blessed. Amen. We don't have to

(26:58):
Religion says you have to do do. The Gospel message
says it's already done. Amen. So don't think about being qualified.
In other words, that you have to do something to
qualify God already has qualified you and me, because the
greatest gift is already here, God with us, Emmanuel, God

(27:18):
for us right on the cross, and God in us
Holy Spirit. So unwrap the moment, receive his peace, rest
in his love, and carry His presence wherever you go. Amen.
And that's the message that I'm trying to give you, Matthew,
chapter one. Read the whole chapter for yourself. We hung
out at verse number twenty three, but I'm out of
time here. Amen, since the joys. Good morning, God bless you,

(27:41):
welcome back to the morning devo, my sister and my friend.
Thank you for the blessing to the group and for
this week. Amen. I receive that. Amen and Amen. So
God bless you all. Thank you so much for coming
through to these morning DeVos. God bless you, God keep you,
and remember always always remember this that God is good. Peace.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
