Speaker 1 (00:03):
Want a family, go want it. God blessed you. Welcome
back to the Morning devo It. She Broke. Sam Lopez
aka DJ Sam rock So Winners with a z RG
the Celebrator Network, the Lehigh Valley's number one urban gospel
music station online since two thousand and eight. We're still here,
all glory to God. So listen today we're calling this
one countdown to the New year. Countdown to the new year.

(00:26):
Let's do that asap. Let's do that right now. Hey man.
From the time of this recording, we're like weeks away
from that countdown. But if you think about it, we
need to start counting down the new year. Now. Every
day is a new day, right and every day is
one day closer to our exit to this earth. We
don't know when our time is over. We don't know

(00:48):
when we punch out the clock here on this side
of eternity. So I think it's a good thing to
look at God's word concerning a countdown to a new start,
a new year, a new thing, a new life. Amen,
before we step into the new year, let's pause, and
selah means pause and ponder and see what the Lord

(01:10):
has done. Amen. This isn't just a countdown. It's a
good countdown because anything that's good is from God. So
it's a godly countdown. You can call it right gratitude, growth, grace, focus,
and faith. Preparing our hearts to move forward with God,

(01:30):
not just to move forward with our goals. Think about it,
because I know we start. If you're like me, start
setting goals for the new year, you start lining things
up in your mind and your heart to do for
the new year. Amen. But if it's not about who
God is. Amen, over your growth, then what are you

(01:51):
doing preparing our hearts to move forward with God, not
just with goals. Think about it. So countdown to the
new year. We're going to be in Psalms, chapter one
hundred and seven, verse number one, some one oh seven,
Verse number one. Sister Joanne, I'll see you, God, bless you.
Good morning. Thank you for what you sent over I
think to my family. Amen, thank you so much. I

(02:13):
didn't open anything, Amen, I believe Norman said it was
from you. Correct me if I'm wrong, But thank you
anyway for being here. God, bless you. I hope this
countdown will help you, Amen as it helps me and
keep inspired. Thank you for coming my system, my friend,
So countdown to the New Year today in the morning Devo.

(02:34):
Let's see, we're gonna pray first. After we pray with
shut us out for like six sixty seconds, and then
on the other side of those sixty seconds, we'll get
right into today's Morning Devo. If you have any questions, comments, concerns,
pray requests, or anything along those lines, please don't hesitate
to leave it on a live chat. Whether you're on
the website, whether you're at live that's someone is with

(02:55):
a z dog where, whether you're listening from the podcast
or from the YouTube page, from any one of our
social media platforms, you should be able to have a
live chat with us. That's what we're here for. So
are you ready for the countdown to the New Year? Amen?
And I'm not avoiding Christmas. Christmas comes first before the

(03:15):
New Year, I understand that. But we're gonna be inspired
by the same Gospel message that inspires us all through
the scriptures. Amen, to countdown a golly countdown, right, a
good countdown towards where God wants us to go, not
just the goals that we set right, not just the

(03:36):
New year resolutions, Amen, that so many of us like
fail like probably after the second or third week of
the new year. But let's set our hearts and minds
and focus on what God is doing, or what God
has already done, or where God has taken us from
from point A to where we are now. So, Father,
I thank you for your goals, for your golly goals

(03:58):
that you set in our hearts and our minds. Thank
you for satisfying our soul. Thank you for preparing our
hearts to engage in what you have already done and
what you continue to do in the hearts and minds
of all your children, including myself. I pray, Lord God,
the power of your word to be evident in the
power of our life, the authority of your word to
be evident with what we speak and what we say,

(04:20):
and that we will attach our faith to your word.
That we will attach our growth because of who you
are God in us Emmanuel, God with us Emmanuel, and
God through us Holy Spirit. I thank you, Lord God,
that you are mindful of what we're mindful about, that
you are considering what we consider. Thank you, Lord God,

(04:40):
that our plans are nothing without your perfect plan. So
I pray, Lord God by the Holy Spirit, that you
will dispatch your arkmen, angels, that you minister to the
hearts of every single one of us as we search
out your word, seek your kingdom first, and thank you,
Lord God for dispatching your warring angels to protect us,
God and Guardess. So I pray a hedge of protection

(05:02):
over myself and my family daily for every single person
on the other side of this mic and on the
other side of the scream, I pray a hedge of
protection in the name of Jesus over them as well. Daily, Amen,
as you would do the same for every single person
that doesn't believe that you would give them the time,
the grace, and the revelation of who you are, so
that way they can make a decision based not upon

(05:24):
not based upon what they think, but based upon what
you think about them and the powerful name of Jesus.
I pray that this season will be the best season
ever for the lives of every single one of us,
and that you look God, will get the glory, the honor,
worship and the praise, and we will testify about your
goodness and Jesus Holy Name. I pray it's by faith,
and those who agree with this prayer we say Amen.

(05:44):
Sue the Amen so I'll be right back. He'p me
share this out sixty seconds. When we come back, we'll
get right into Psalms one oh seven, verse number one.
I'll be right back. Heymen, we're back. Thank you so

(07:17):
much for helping me share this out. Sister Joyce, I
see you. God bless you, good morning. God bless you
as well. God bless you and your family. Amen. And
of course you're welcome for the prayers. Amen. It's the
prayers are the righteous that availth much. And I'm calling
myself righteous and calling you righteous, and sister Joanne righteous,
and every single person that believes in the Lord and
trusts and follows him. Amen. We're all righteous according to

(07:39):
the righteousness that he credited us, they gave to us. Amen.
So thank you so much for your presence, for being
with us on the morning, Devo, my sister and my friends.
So let's go for this word. Let's see what this
countdown to the new year is all about. A godly countdown,
not a calendar countdown, not a goal focus countdown, not

(08:01):
kind of like you know, Dick Clark, I think that's
his name. Countdown, not a ball drop, none of that.
We're talking about the Lord, Jesus, the Lord Yahweh, the Father,
the Son, Holy Spirit, God. We're turning about a golly countdown,
a countdown to the new year, based upon our belief

(08:21):
in Him, based upon our trust and hope and the
one who created us. Amen. That's a golly countdown. It's
a little different than just watching the clock and seeing
the calendar roll by. Amen. It's a little different when
I'm trying to get to today. So let's get to
the scripture for those who are just listening, No worries,
no problems. Amen. I'm going to read this word for

(08:43):
words so that we will all end this on the
same page literally, and we could get into what God
wants us to get into today. Countdown to the new year. Amen.
And we're basing this on scripture and Psalms one oh
seven and verse number one. Oh give thanks to the Lord,

(09:04):
for he is what he is good for his compassion
and loving kindness endure forever. So can you imagine giving
thanks to the Lord forever and forever and forever. Every
time you look at the calendar, give thanks to the Lord.
Every time you wake up, give thanks to the Lord.

(09:25):
Every time you go to sleep, give thanks to the Lord.
Every time you eat, give thanks to the Lord. Every
time you have fellowship with a believer, give thanks to
the Lord. Every time that you are with your family,
and when you're talking to your child, or a spouse
or a loved one, give thanks to the Lord. Amen.
If you gave thanks to the Lord and wrote down

(09:45):
all the thanksgiving that you give to the Lord, Amen,
every single day of your life, there will be no calendar,
no kind of time system that could even come close
to documenting all those thankful thoughts. Amen. So when we're
counting down to the new year, we're to count down
the blessings which will never end. We would count down

(10:07):
the goodness and his compassion, loving kindness of God that
would never end, and that should take your mind and
keep your mind occupied in the things of God. Stay
focused on the things of God, not on the things
of this world. You know how that goes? Right? The
world just shows up and the world just promises things,

(10:28):
and the world just leaves you flat, busted, disgusted. Amen,
leaves you empty, never satisfies, and it never saves, never
proves anything other than the lying system of the world.
But when you trust in a holy, loving, righteous God,
a loving God, which his kindness endures forever, his love

(10:49):
endures forever. His mercies follow us forever. Amen, Then we
could count something down. Let me get to this word
before I start preaching these notes. Right, So, the clock
you see a ticking if you have an old school clock,
he even makes the ticking nooids. Amen, thank you Jesus

(11:11):
that you gave us. You gave somebody the wisdom to
make tickless clocks, because man, that thing could be annoying,
especially for a light sleeper like me. When you're hearing
the ticking of a clock in another room, it really
is annoying. So as the clock click ticks down or
counts down to a brand new year, we're not just

(11:31):
watching the time pass. We're positioning our hearts for what
God is about to do because we know that God
is going to do something. I don't have to be
a prophet to tell you that God's doing a new thing. Amen.
You don't have to be a prophet to say that.
Go ahead and say this is the truth. God is
doing a new thing according to the prophet Isaiah. Right,

(11:52):
this is more than a countdown of seconds. This is
more than a good godly countdown, is more than a
good godly countdown. It's a God countdown, Amen, and it's
a good countdown. A moment in your life and in
my life to reflect, to look at the things that

(12:13):
God has done, to take a pause, to sell a
moment and reflect. Right, release things that need to be released,
Let things go this year. I'm sure Amen, you have
been challenged by some things, some people, maybe your own
self has challenged you by way of the flesh. Reflect

(12:33):
and release, then refocus right. My wife has a song
called Refocus Amen, very popular in the Lehi Valley. But
refocus your life back to the source, back to the Lord,
back to who God wants you to be, not who
the world wants you to be, but who God wants
you to be. And step forward in faith. Take a

(12:57):
step of faith forward. Amen. I never heard of a
person's take a step backwards in faith in faith like
you ever seen or heard somebody say I'm walking by faith,
but I'm walking backwards. No, when people say they're walking
by faith, they going somewhere. They're moving forward. Amen. So
when you're enter the new year, enter the new year

(13:20):
with God at the center of your calendar. So we're
stepping into it. Man, there's really no way around time.
Time waits for nobody. So time is not going to
consider my life and your life differently. Time is still
going to fly by tick by. The clock is going
to keep moving the days of the calendar to keep moving. Amen.

(13:42):
Haven't you noticed that the days don't stop? Haven't you
noticed that time doesn't wait for you or wait for me.
Whether or not we believe in God or not, Time
is still going right by us. Amen, So it humbles us.
The calendar should humble you as it humbles me. Because
I'm looking at it. I'll say, Man, this year is
almost up. You know. Let's see what God has done?

(14:05):
And why did God allow x y Z to happen
in my life? Or why did God allow x y
z to happen in your life? You have to ask
that question. Amen. Have you gone through pain? Have you
gone through a struggle? Have you gone through illness? Amen?
Are experiencing that right now. There's a reason why God
allows things to happen in our lives. And the scripture
is honest enough to tell us that we're going to

(14:26):
go through things in our lives. But also the scripture
encourages us to trust in the one who created us.
The one who knows the ending before the end, the
beginning before the ending, and before the beginning after the ending.
You know, he's eternal, so he sits outside of time.
He's taking the e Turner view over our lives, and
we only could see like what's in front of us. Amen,

(14:50):
we can hope for things in this world and those
things won't come to pass. But when we hope in Christ,
hoping in God never disappoints. The move had to move
forward in faith. This year, we're almost We're almost there.
We're almost at the finish line of this year. Man,
So count down to the new year with a good mindset,

(15:12):
with a godly mindset, knowing that God is able to
do more in your life and more in my life
than we will ever think or imagine. So the world
counts down to midnight. Believers count down with purpose because
we have an eternal mindset. Right. One year closes, another

(15:33):
year begins. I wasn't always this age, right. I wasn't
born this age. You weren't either. We were all born
with a zero day, right. We were conceived the same way.
And I don't know what the argument is with the
culture and saying that a baby's on their baby, so

(15:53):
they exit the wound weirdness. Right, a baby's a baby.
When God created us, right as soon as we would
conceive we were human, we were anything else. As one
year closes, another year begins. Take a few minutes or
moments or jop down something in a journal of how

(16:15):
God has been good. And when you see how God
has been good, you're starting to align your heart with heaven.
When you start aligning your heart with Heaven, your mind changes,
your focus shifts, your mindset. Is really getting to a
better place when you look at the goodness of God

(16:35):
in your life, or if you're not a believer, look
at the goodness of God in somebody else's life and
hopes that you would be inspired enough to investigate the
claims of the Lord that we believe in, the Lord
Jesus Christ, so that way he could really do the
goodness to you as well and be good to you
as well, because He's good regardless. The grace of God
is amazing, so much so that sometimes I look around

(16:58):
and look at my own life. First they thank you
God for the grace. Then I look at others and say, man,
God is really graceful. Hey, man, it seems like a
lot of people are getting away with sin. You know,
I'm talking about the church, I'm talking about believers. I'm
talking about Christ followers. They do certain things right and
they think they're getting away with it. It's not that

(17:20):
we're getting away with it, including myself. We are under
the grace of God, which is an amazing grace time. Like,
you can't look at a calender and say, Okay, God's
grace is over next week, right, so I better get
this right before the grace period is over. Nope, God's
grace is amazing. You can't figure it out. I can't

(17:42):
figure it out. The grace of God is amazing. So
although God has grace over us and in us and
through us and working things out for the good, we
should step up by faith and get things right in
our heart and mind and align our hearts. So the
good countdown to the new year is about letting go

(18:05):
of what was and stepping into what God is doing next.
Because we know we serve a God that is His
love endures forever, His loving kindness endures forever. Right, we
have a God who saves, a God who rescues, a
God who changes, a God who redeems, a God who restores,
a God who renews, Amen, A God who is just

(18:26):
like gives us that resurrected life, life and mindset. Amen.
Or we know who we are because God has told
us who we are. We know what we can do
because God told us what we could do. We could
do all things through Christ Jesus, who gives us the
strength to get what He wants in your life and
my life done. And you don't have to be a
pastor to quote that scripture. Amen. How about this when

(18:51):
you look at the calendar next time and you see
if you have a digital calendar, you see the thing turning.
That's kind of cool. Right. We're choosing intention over impulse,
intention over instincts. We're going to choose the day to
praise God today. We're going to choose to rejoice today.

(19:15):
We're going to choose to trust today. We're going to
choose the righteous path of God, and we're going to
refuse to walk on the unrighteous path. Amen. We're going
to put faith over fear. I know you see that
a lot on T shirts and a lot on hoodies
and sweaters. Amen. But I like that Amen, because I

(19:36):
believe that fear tries to cancel our faith. But when
you walk by faith, our faith will cancel our fear.
So welcome right to the good godly countdown. Welcome to
the countdown to the new Year. You're already in it.
I'm in it, regardless of what we think is going
to happen in the new year, regardless if we don't

(19:57):
want the new year to come. Some people have have
had a bad situation this year. Some people are going
through a lot this year, Amen, and they're tired of
looking at the calendar because during the holidays right Thanksgiving, Christmas,
New Year, Amen, some people don't like those holidays because
it brings up things that they're struggling with, maybe loss

(20:21):
of a loved one, maybe a divorce, maybe losing a child,
maybe lack of finances, maybe struggle with the health issues. Amen.
So that's when the Body of Christ comes along those
people that are struggling, and we bring hope, we bring love,

(20:41):
we bring a listening ear Amen, and we encourage, We
don't discourage, we build up, we don't break down. Right,
we really inspire right people to trust in the process.
And the process is not all by cells with God,

(21:01):
a God who loves us, a God who is faithful
to his word and faithful to us, and a God
who knows, and a God who is there, and a
God who is worth believing in, a God who is
worth praising, a God who's worth our worship. Amen. He
should get it all, but he allows us to make
that choice. So when you're on a good countdown, you

(21:22):
could take that good countdown and take the time to
thank God for where he brought you from. Two. Amen,
where he's getting you to trust him? Right, we don't
know exactly what's going to happen today, tomorrow, a week
from now, but we could trust in the God who

(21:43):
knows what's going to happen, trust him with what's ahead,
and step boldly into a God led year, not a
growth gold based led year, not a worldly led year,
not a selfish led year, not a self help led year,
not a religious a religion or religious led year. No,

(22:07):
not a sinful led year, none of that. Why don't
we trust God so you can lead us into the year,
into the new year? Right, take a bold move and
let God lead you by wave of holy Spirit. Take
a bold move and give your life to the Lord.
If you never done that, Amen, get saved. It's the

(22:29):
wave of yesterday. Today in the future. Right, it's not
a fad because fads die out and go away. Right.
It's not a trend because trends die out and go away. Right.
This is not what the culture is pushing. This is
so anti culture. Being a Christian or christ follow up
believing in the Lord Jesus is so anti culture. Amen.

(22:51):
When I was growing up, it was well respected. If
somebody said they were a Christian, you would start, you know,
you will humble yourself and you will honor that person,
or you would encourage that person to celebrate that person.
Now you say you're a Christian, they look at YouTube
channels of all these crazy evangelists and pastors out there
that are doing all kinds of weird things, and then
they connect you with those people. Amen, and then the

(23:14):
people that just are trying to live the life of Christ. Amen.
We look different, we move different, we act different. Nobody
wants that because it doesn't it doesn't even look like
it's possible. Well, I agree with the culture where it
says that no one could live a perfect life. I
agree unless you have the perfect one living in you.

(23:34):
So we're never far from perfect because the perfect one
lives inside of a believer. Amen. So we're close to
perfection right, whether or not you believe that or not.
But God and his way of thinking is not the
way we think. God and the way he he moves,

(23:55):
we should be moving like. Amen. Right, His ways are
far are advanced than always. But we could follow and
trust him through his word and we could see His
resume is all through the scriptures in the Old Covenant.
His resume of his goodness, his grace, his authority, his power, right,

(24:17):
his dominion, his reign, his rule, Amen, his commandments, all
of it. That's his resume to what he's doing with
us right now, in the future and moving forward. So
when the calendar and the days go by, Amen, thank
God for the day. It'll be a holy habit for
you to thank God daily every time you look at

(24:38):
your phone, your calendar, Amen, every time you look at
the clock, every time you look at your watch, your iPhone,
your android, whatever device you're looking at for time, Thank
God for the time that you were able to look
at something that's worth looking at. Amen, And love yourself.
Forgive yourself. This year, a lot of people are walking
around with unforgiveness and not really unforgiveness for others. You're

(25:01):
not forgiving yourself. Amen. I had to do that. I
know a lot of people that had to do that
as well this year. And then forgive yourself. Move forward.
Don't get in a culture based ruts, like a hamster
wheel type of life. I wrote down the other day,

(25:22):
hamster wheels are for hamsters, not for humans. Amen. So
let the hamsters running that wheel that they would like
to run in. They're going nowhere, but they like to
do it. I guess it's good exercise. But we're human,
We're not hamsters, Amen. So let's act like who we are.
Let's be who we are in Christ. Amen, and stop

(25:44):
looking at you know, the idols of this world and
wanting those things that are really worthless. They don't have
any true power. They can't save you, doesn't really love you. Amen.
The idols and whatever you put before God becomes an
idol in your life. So countdown to the new year

(26:05):
based upon who God is. Amen. Will help you, will
help you and me humble ourselves and be grateful for
the growth, grateful for the pain, Grateful that we can
focus on who the Lord is in our lives and
we can move forward in faith. No one moves backwards.
In faith. We move forward in faith. But Robert, God

(26:27):
bless you, Robert Donwmo and God bless you, my brother,
my friends could just see you on the morning Devo.
So let's count it down. Man, I was thinking about
putting a countdown clock. Maybe we'll do that, if Lord willing.
Before the end of the year, we'll take countdown and
people could put through the live chat what they're grateful
for and what they're thankful for for God. Let's thank God, right,

(26:48):
We thank him because he's good. His loving kindness is forever.
His love is forever. His love endures forever. Amen. That
enduring words sticks out to me because that means it's
with us even when we're right going through things. The
endurance of the Lord is there. His love endures forever,
not just on the twelve month calendar, but his love

(27:11):
endures forever. Amen. So give thanks to the Lord, for
he is good. His love endures forever. So before we
rush into what's next, right, what's next, what's next, what's next,
let's pause and think about what already has been, what
God has been doing. Amen. Right, we pause and thank

(27:34):
God for what He's already done, for every victory, for
every lesson and for every rescue. Amen. Let's think about that,
and it will really help you look at the calendar differently.
It will really help you during the countdown towards the
new year, maybe that last hour that you're you know,
whatever you're doing, hopefully you're doing something that doesn't evolve drug,

(27:57):
sex and alcohol right outside God. You know what God
wants you to do right Hopefully it involves you being
in a good place, in a good atmosphere. Amen, celebrating
what God has done in the year, in your life
and in my life. Amen. And if you run out
of ideas of what to do according to those ways, Amen,

(28:21):
inbox me or email me or connect with me. I'll
give you some ideas, Amen, and I'll share with you
what we do at the end of the year as
a family and as a church. So God bless you all.
Thank you so much for hanging out with me for
the new year. It's coming. Amen. For the morning Devo
Psalms one oh seven, Verse number one, Sister Joanne says,

(28:41):
I thank God every morning for another day He gives
to me and my family and my husband, and I
thank him every time I eat a plate of food.
He is so good yes he is. Thank you for
your comment. So God bless you all, God keep you all,
and remember always that God is good.
