(00:44):
for lending me your ear drums so we could get
into this Morning Devo today. I'm calling this one eternal treasure.
Remember during the season where we have that eternal mindset,
not the temporary mindset, but the eternal mindset, Jesus warned
us not to spend our life collecting treasures that can
be stolen, rusted, or destroyed. Think about it. Everything that

(01:09):
we're hustling and bustling over Amen, could be stolen, rusted,
or destroyed Matthew Chapter six Versus nineteen and twenty. That's
where we're gonna be camping out today in the morning Devo.
If you have any questions, comments, concerns, pray requests, you
know the drill. If this is your first time, Amen,

(01:31):
welcome back to the Welcome to the morning, Devo. Let
me personally welcome you for the first time. Amen, And
this is not your first time, Welcome back. That's what
I'm meant to say. Amen. I was literally getting a
call from my daughter's school right now, and I already
know what it is. Two hours delay, that's what it's
going to be, Amen, So be safe out there. It's

(01:52):
icy conditions out there in certain areas over here in
the Leha Valley where we're streaming from. So let's go
for it. Let's pray first. After we pray, we'll share
this out for like sixty seconds, and then on the
other side of those sixty seconds, we'll get right into
today's morning Devo. I'm calling this one eternal treasure. Let
me share this to the group. I don't know why
I keep on forgetting to share this to the group.

(02:13):
First thing, Amen, and we got that taken care of.
So Father, I thank you that we are safe. Thank you,
Lord God for the protection and the guidance. Thank you,
Lord God that we could seek your kingdom first, and
everything will be added onto us as well. But first
seek the Kingdom of God. That's what you ask us
to do, and that's a blessing. To seek your kingdom,

(02:34):
to know that you are there, then to know that
you rule, to know that you are reigning and then
sovereign tea over our lives. Thank you, Lord God for
doing that towards us and for us rescuing us. Thank you,
Love God for satisfying our soul our desires. Thank you,
Love God for changing our hearts and changing our minds.
Thank you for renewing us and protecting us. I pray

(02:56):
I head your protection over us right now, every single
person that's listening and watching myself, my wife, our children,
our grandchildren, our family members from the very oldest to
the very youngest, and every single person in between. I
pray healing for those who feel under the weather right now,
who are sick, I pray the healing power the Lord
Jesus over their lives. Right now. I pray forth ark

(03:18):
ween angels and minister angels to annihilate the tactics of
the enemy over every single individual that's calling on your
name right now. By the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ,
we dispatch angels to do what they do amen in
spiritual warfare. When it comes to guidance, when it comes
to being there present, I pray, Lord God that you
would hear these prayers and answer them according to your

(03:40):
will and purpose for every individual life that's representing their
families and their own lives right now and Jesus name,
we pray is by faith and those who agree we
say amen to the Amen. Sister Joweyn, I see you,
good morning, God, bless you. Welcome back to the morning. Devo,
my sister, my friends, Sister Joyce, I see you. Good
morning to you, and thank you so much for blessing
us with your presence on the morning. Devote my sister

(04:01):
and my friends. Sixty seconds. Help me share this out.
When we come back, we'll get right into Matthew chapter
number six, Verses nineteen and twenty. We're gonna hear what
the Lord Jesus himself has said. Amen, what he has
said himself. I've read back you man I get carried

(05:47):
away sharing to the groups. But thank you all the
groups that allow me to share this on your page.
I'm very grateful born again Christians go yee into all
the world and preach the gospel. Thank you so much
for allowing me on your group. So let's go for it.
Jesus warned us not to spend our life collecting treasures
that can be stolen, rusted, or destroyed. You know what

(06:12):
those treasures are. You know what your prized possessions are
in this world, and you know what you're capable of
doing more if you get into the Kingdom of God.
But a lot of people are refusing that because they
want their own way. They want to live their own life,
hold on to their own possessions and try to figure
out life for themselves. Or they might be hurt, maybe

(06:34):
by a family member, by church. Maybe they don't understand
what being a christ follower means. Maybe they are they
don't like what I like what I'm saying. Amen, there's
a lot of reasons. Amen. Before I got saved, I
wasn't always saved. I didn't grow up in the church.
People could testify. People who know me from years ago
know that we didn't grow up in no church. But

(06:54):
when I gave my life up, Amen, because I did
what the world offered far as to prove it. Amen.
And it was just a fat lie, unsatisfactory. It wasn't
something that satisfied my soul, wasn't something that made me happy,
wasn't something that made me full. It left me more
empty as a matter of fact. So when I tried

(07:15):
the world system and the world system lied to me
and failed me, I said, well, there got to be more,
something more than this, right, They got to be something
more than what I was currently living back then. So
I just called on God. I said, God, if you real,
come and change me. I really didn't care at that
point about any anybody that went to church, a Christian,
a Mormon, JOVI with. I didn't care about that. I said,

(07:38):
if you're a true, living, holy, righteous God, come and
change me. And by his grace he did. Amen. I
don't know how he did it. I just know that
he did it. Amen. So if you're a hoarding earthly
wisdom and earthly treasure, earthly desires or earthly whatever, those

(07:59):
things can be destroyed, those things can be stolen, and
those things could rust Amen. Depending on what material possession
you're holding on to as a treasure. Some people wear
things around the neck, around their wrists, thinking that those
things will protect them. Some people do say some people
are into crystals, as if those things are some kind

(08:19):
of spiritual protection for your life. Nonsense, amen, respectfully, nonsense.
God is the eternal treasure. We need to seek His
kingdom first, and his righteousness and everything else that's needed
in our life will be added onto us according to
the word of God. Don't take my word for it,
take the word of God for it. Amen. The word

(08:40):
of God is true, time tested. Amen. People have been
scrutinizing the Bible for what thousands of years and have
yet to disprove anything in the scriptures. Amen. Amazing, amazing,
eternal treasure for those who are listening only a man,
I'm gonna read this word for word for those who
are watching the lot of stream that's put it on
the screen. Internal treasure today in the morning, Devo. Lloyd

(09:04):
Jesus said in Matthew chapter six, verses nineteen and twenty.
He says, do not store up for yoursels material treasures
on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves
break in and steal, but store up for your cells
treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and

(09:28):
where thieves do not break in and steal. In other words,
your heavenly treasure is guarded. No one's getting in there.
No one can take what you have in heaven. Amen.
But in the meantime, while we're here on earth, let's
store up righteousness, holiness. Let's go ahead and love on people.

(09:49):
Let's go ahead and be on people. By the side
of people who are losing loved ones, by the side
of people who need help, by the side of people
who need a listening ear by the side of people
who are you struggling with anxiety, depression, drugs, alcohol, pornography.
Let's be alongside these people, right because we know that

(10:09):
those are our eternal treasures. People have intrinsic value. We're
created in the image of God. We are more valuable
their earthly possessions. We are more valuable their earthly treasure.
We are more valuable than what we think we need
here on this earth. Most of what we need on
this earth, a lot of it wants. And God is

(10:31):
not into giving us what we want. Sometimes he will,
but he definitely gives us what we need. So what
do you need today? Ask God for it? Amen. You
need something? I need something. And the Lord has all
eternal treasure at his disposal. Amen. He has it all.
And in Christ we have it all. In Christ. We
could do all things through Christ Jesus. Amen. And you

(10:54):
don't have to be a pastor or apostle, or a
prophet or a teacher to say that, to quote that scripture.
We quote it because we're made in the image of God.
We are the family God. We are sons of living God.
We are children of God. And only Jesus gives us
the right Amen to be called children of God. So
we could do all things through Christ, who gives us

(11:16):
the strength to do whatever He assigns us to do
on this planet Earth. Amen. That's an eternal treasure, that's
an eternal fact. Amen. And that's worth more than that
mission that you paid to get in the morning devo. Amen.
So let's go for it. Let's go for it. Let
me read my notes for us start preaching. The problem

(11:38):
in this world is that the world is successed with
what they see. Think about it, right, visible success when
they look at people's social media. Oh, look, they have
millions of people following them. They must be successful. Oh
look they have a fancy car, they must be successful.
Oh look they have this. Oh look they have that

(11:59):
X Y, they have all of that. I want to
be like that person. The world is obsessed with visible success.
They want to see others succeed. So that way they
could try to concede affiliate marketers. Right, they tell you
I made ten thousand dollars in one week. You could

(12:20):
do it too, just follow or copy my formula. Right,
And then when you get ahead and pay whatever three
thousand dollars to get the course, you realize that, man,
it didn't work for me. And then when you reply
back or you contact the affiliate marketer or the content guru,
whatever the case. I'm not saying all of them. I'm
just saying some of them in my experience. They so, oh,

(12:44):
you must be doing something wrong. Oh look at this,
you're doing it wrong. Or look at this, you got
to put them all work in, you gotta do it. No,
it's just that either they're scamming or it's not for you,
or it's not for me, andy man. Maybe they are
of those people that are making thousands of dollars online
praise God, right, But maybe it's not for us. Maybe

(13:07):
it's not for you, a man. Maybe God wants you
to do something original. Maybe He has already instructed you
what to do. You're just resisting the process. You don't
want to go through the hard work. You don't want
to do what God calls you to do. Amen. Visible
success is what the world is obsessed with. Visible comfort.
Nobody on these social media platforms that I know that

(13:30):
seem to be successful wants to be uncomfortable. They want
to be in luxurious airplanes, luxurious cars, luxurious homes, luxurious
dis that and the third luxurious clothing. A man, they
want the visible comfort and they want you to see it,
and they want to call that status and they want

(13:52):
to be approved. If you're seeking the world's approval, that's
very easy. All you got to do is do what
the world does. So therefore what I'm doing, Amen, I'm
not looking for the world's approval. Amen, I have the
approval of the one who created the world. I'm not
looking for the universe to do anything for me. I
serve the one who created the universe. Amen. We have
to get a mindset to a higher level. People are

(14:14):
speaking to the universe to this very day, and they
call me crazy. They're speaking to a created thing, a
created universe, and expecting the universe to answer back. I'm
speaking to a guy who created the whole universe, and
he does answer back. Think about right? So Earth is
preparation for our eternal destination. Amen, The temporary world will

(14:38):
test your focus. Are you building your life on things
that can break? Are you leaning on people who might
walk away from you? Think about it? Are you chasing
goals that won't matter one hundred for years from now.
That's why Jesus wonders not to spend our life collecting
treasures that can be stolen. I still destroyed Matthew six,

(15:02):
nineteen and twenty. We just read it. Why Why? What's
the why behind that? Because from what I could see,
Heaven is the only place where your investment and my
investment is eternal. Right. Heaven is the only place that
the scripture through the Lord Jesus what he said, no

(15:23):
one is getting up and that theves won't enter into heaven. Right,
So your treasures are safe for all eternity. Stow the
treasures here. That's temporary store of treasures in heaven. That's eternal.
You know, I'm not a mathematician, but I kind of
figured this out that temporary does not even compare to eternity,

(15:46):
right mathematically by days or hours or minutes. Amen. So
why would I invest so much in the temporary? Right?
Even though I am, I'm planting seeds of eternal life, right,
I'm investing in other people's lives, preaching to godspel and
hopes that they will receive the Lord Jesus Christ and
change their eternal destination. But why would I store up

(16:07):
anything here and worship the like idology, idolage, idologize, or
do idolatry for the money, right, for the feigned fortune,
for my possessions. Amen. I have what I have. I
treasure what I have, but I'm not worshiping what I have,
if that makes any sense. So Jesus wanted us not

(16:29):
to spend our life here collecting treasures that can be stolen, rusted,
or destroyed. Heaven is the only place your investment in,
My investment is eternal. So what's coming is better than
what already is. Some people think this is it, this
is our thing, like we we live, we suffer, and
we die, and that's it. That's what. Some people literally

(16:51):
think that this is it, but and other people say
this is an illusion. They don't even think this is real.
They think that we're all in some kind of dream
state right now. But I believe that this is preparation.
This is training ground for what's to come. And what's
to come is better than what is. God is not

(17:12):
preparing you for a better week, or a better month,
or even a better year. God is preparing you for
a better forever. God is eternal, so his perspective, his
ideas are all eternal. Amen. Yes, there are temporary things
that God says, Listen, we have a season to do
x y Z, or you have a time to do

(17:32):
what you need to do in a certain time that
He's allotted us. We have expiration dates on this earthly body.
But our soul, our spirit is eternal. So let's invest
on what's internal eternal. Amen. While we're doing that, let's
go ahead and help others find what eternity means, find
that eternal life that only Jesus offered. Other nobody else

(17:56):
offers eternal life, but the Lord who could give it
for real life. He doesn't need help, He doesn't really
basically need us, but he loves so He loved us
so much that his sentence only begotten son, that whosoever
believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life,
not temporary life, and the life that we're supposed to

(18:19):
be living here. If we're in Christ, he promised an
abundant life. This is all good news. I don't know
why anybody won't want to end on this Amen. I
know people who are struggling. Sometimes I struggle in certain
areas in life, but my perspective is not in the struggle.
My perspectives is in the Savior, the one who could

(18:40):
be with me through the struggle. You don't notice that
you don't stay if you're believe in you notice you
don't stay in the struggle for too long. And definitely
you don't walk in the light anymore, because we're not
in the dark no more. Romans eight eighteen is a
reminder that the sufferings of this present time are not

(19:01):
worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be
revealed in us for eternity. Amen. Like if you're hated
because you're a Christian, a christ follower, a believer, a man,
follow the way, the truth and the life, you're doing
something right, because the Bible says Jesus said, they're gonna

(19:24):
hate you. The world's gonna hate you. Why because they
hated him first. Jesus said, they hated me first, So
they're gonna hate you because your allegiance to me. We're
gonna suffer, right, We're gonna struggle, We're gonna fall short
of the glory standards of God. The Word says it plainly,

(19:44):
and the Word is honest. Prosperity preachers will say, what
you're not supposed to be sick, what you're not supposed
to be broke, what you're not supposed to struggle, what
you're supposed to And this time we're out there in
some kind of superficial reality. We're in reality reality. If
that was true, then none of a Christians that we

(20:06):
know would ever be sick. None of the Christians that
we ever know want to go through financial issues, relational issues,
none of our children will go to them other way.
If all that prosperity gospel messages, all those prosperity messages
were true, then everybody would be a Christian because they'd
be like, I want end on that, because man, look

(20:27):
they live perfect lives and the people on the other
side of Christianity knows that that's not true. And why
are we trying to say that once you become a
born again believer everything will be perfect. No, we're going
to a place that's perfect. We're being perfected by the
one who perfects us. Amen. He is the perfect one.

(20:49):
He's the righteous one, He's the holy one. He's the
one who never fails. His word is always true, he
never loses power. Amen. Jesus said, I go and prepare
a place for you. If it were not so, but
what not true? I would not have told you. Jesus
is the way, the truth in the life. He's preparing
us for better forever. Everything you're enduring now is producing

(21:15):
something eternal. Right, Everything you're doing now, whether bad or good,
is producing something that could be eternal. Now. The argument
I hear a lot is people say, why would an eternal, good,
almighty God punish us right for not believing in him

(21:38):
and spend an eternity in a place separated from him?
Is that fair? Well, it's just it's not about being fair.
As a just God knows that if we receive him,
if we love him, if we follow him, if we
trust him. Amen, And put our faith in the Lord Jesus,
then we have eternity with him. Justice, the Justice of

(22:01):
God says, well, if you don't do that, and listen,
none of us are without excuse. We see the creation,
we see his children, we see his word, we hear
his word, and we know the story of Jesus and
his sacrifice. People reject that not because they can't know
the truth, is because they refuse the truth. They don't
want to know God. Amen. So Justice says, Okay, if

(22:23):
you want to do that, if you want to just
ignore God, if you want to reject the gospel, then
Justice says, then you have to be in a place
that's separated from him. Why would anybody land in heaven
and say, man, I don't want to be here? How
did I get to this place? You're not going to
be in heaven if you don't want to be plain
and simple. Amen. Some people are on their way to

(22:46):
hell and they don't even know it. Well, it's time
for you to wake up. You bump into a believer
who has been through thick and thin, who could tell
you how the world moves and how the Kingdom of God.
You should pay attention. I'm not saying you have to
follow a person. I'm saying you should pay attention to
the testimonies of all those whosoevers who called upon the

(23:11):
name of the Lord Jesus, and you see that have
a change life. Pay attention, and especially if you know them,
you know them from way back, and now you know
them now you're like, yeah, something changed. You don't got
to like the message. You don't have to like the messenger.
You don't have to follow everybody that you see that's
a Christian. You need to make a decision for yourself.

(23:33):
Eternal treasures, amen, are so much more valuable than what
we have now. Think about it. But you you love
your family, and I know you love your family. You
love your kids, you love your wife, you love your spouse,
you love your grands, you love your parents if they're
still here. You love everybody right in your family. If
you really love somebody, why wouldn't you want to be

(23:54):
with them for all eternity, right in a place that's
prepared for us. Now, people say, how do you know
that this is all true? Well, I know because he
made a change in my life. That's number one. I
know because he answers the question of origin. He answers
the question of morality, meaning and destiny, right and identity.

(24:18):
I mean, you can look at it for yourself. He'll
answer the questions of life. The Lord Jesus answers it.
The scriptures, you know, fortify it, you know. So I'm
here not because I deserve to be here in the
Kingdom of God. I'm here because of God's grace is mercy,
and I'll be perfect in heaven. I won't be perfect

(24:39):
now I'm being perfected, But in heaven you're not going
to see people who are not perfect. In heaven. You're
not going to see good or bad people in heaven.
You're going to see saved people in heaven. So pay
attention to a person who has been changed and transformed
by the spirit of God. Pay attention because they might
say something, or know something, or be living something that

(25:02):
you've always wanted and you're that close. All you have
to do is make your decision to be a part
of what God is doing in a temporary time that
will last for eternity. So the argument is, while will
God punished us for something we're doing temporary and use
an eternity to do it to punish us? Is because

(25:22):
God is an eternal God, so our perspective. His ways
on not like our ways. His thoughts are not like
our thoughts. He's God and he's God alone, and the
warning of God is out of love. He doesn't want
us to keep on chasing after the things of this
world and then end up having all of that and
lose your soul. Fix your eyes on the Lord, a man,

(25:45):
your doorway to eternity, John fourteen two and three, that
he's preparing a place for you, not a moment, not
a memory, but a home for all eternity. So live
today with eternity in mind. Walk lightly, don't stress yourself
out loosely. The possessions of this world are going to vanish.
Love deeply, because love covers a lot of things. Give

(26:09):
generously and hope confidently. Man, I'm gonna try to read
this comment and we're out of time. Thank you so
much for watching or listening to the Morning Devo. Sister
Joanne says, I believe in the Lord because I've been
through a lot and the Lord still has me here yet,
and I have faith in him and I love him
so much. He is so good with me and my
family and what my husband is going through. I have

(26:31):
my sisters and my brothers there in the church and
they pray for us, and they still have my husband
yet here with me, and I have a lot of
things that we're going on that's going on with me.
I believe in what Sam is saying because God is good.
Look for the Lord. Yes. Please, thank you sister Joanne
for testifying and for letting people know look for the
Lord while he can still be found, Amen, and that

(26:53):
we still have our eyes to see and ears to listen.
So God bless you. Thank you so much for hanging
out with me for this morning. DEVO. Safe out. There's
a little slipper here icy in Lehigh Valley. Amen. But
God bless you all. God keep you all, and remember
always that God is good. Peace.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
