Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello, everybody, Welcome to the Buckeye Weekly Podcast. I'm Tony
Gerdaman here as always with Tom or Tom. How's it
going well?
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Tony? It was going great until I realized it was
Bold Predictions day, And so I went back and looked
at last week's bold predictions, And Tony, did you look
at my three point bold prediction last week?
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Boy? Did I? And if you weren't going to start
the show with that, I was m yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
You know how every time of the prediction, I'm like
secretly plotting for not even secretly, like out loud plotting
for man, it would be hilarious if you miss this,
just by the most heartbreakingly small detailed did you know
distance or by three pointer? Last week was that Ohio
State on their third drive would score on a touchdown
(00:57):
pass of exactly seventeen or thirty four or fifty one yards.
And you know what are the odds that happened? Well?
On Ohio State's third drive last week, they scored on
a touchdown pass to Jeremiah Smith of eighteen yards. And
I went back and looked. The Only thing that provides
me any solace whatsoever is the fact that I went
(01:19):
back and looked and it was like eighteen in a quarter.
It wasn't. It wasn't, you know, seventeen and a half,
and I just got really hosed by the scorekeepers. It
was it was legitimately eighteen yards. So Tony, as you know,
we always ask do I take any solace in that?
And the answer is yes, no, not.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Really, no, no, no solace in anything. Yes, that was a
fantastic miss. I thought that was a very bold prediction
for you, and then to come up so close, it's like, well,
maybe it wasn't that bald at all. A typical Tom.
To let the people know, I did win last week
because I had one of my one point was some
combination of Jeremiah Smith catches will total seventy one yards.
(02:04):
He finished with eighty one yards receiving, so I had
easy math to do. I'd said to find two catches
that equal ten yards, and he had a two yarder
and an eight yarder, which made things very much easy
for me. And then also I had them getting five sacks.
We know they did the one that you got, correct, Tom.
The defensive tackles will combine for three impact plays. Now
you said defensive tackles, Pearl and only one of them
(02:28):
combined for three impact plays. So do you still want
to take that?
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Yeah, Caden McDonald had three and everyone else head zero,
So you know, I very boldly said, and for an
extra two points, you can throw Eric Mensa in here,
so it'll be defensive tackles including Eric Menza, just like
two guys. And so there you go. So, so did
I win last week? Listen? I don't know. I'll have
to go back and watch the tape.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
No, you did not win. I won. Now this week
is a big week. It's Minnesota week. It's homecoming? Is
it homecoming? Yes? There you go, Frett? Where I mean,
where do we go? We're always home except for last
week we were out of town for a while. I
had some issues with my bold prediction too, because I
had so many to choose from, especially the high point
(03:16):
value ones that I'm like, I don't want to get
rid of any of these, so I just turned them
into some one pointers and maybe we'll tweak some stuff.
But Thompson's I won last week. I'll let you go
first this week? What is your first one pointer?
Speaker 2 (03:29):
So my first one is I don't think Minnesota is
going to run the ball particularly well. However, I think
they're going to run the roll really not well. So
my first ball prediction I can't do seventeen. But I
do think they will average one point seven yards per
carry or less in this game.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
I like that when I do also expect them to
be shut down running the ball. If I say, is
this that adjusted? What would you say?
Speaker 2 (04:02):
I would say no, thank you for asking.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Now. To be fair, they they're low season low was
last week one point nine for against Rutgers. They one
point seven. They should It only takes one big carry
to get over that, but that's not something that they've
become known for, and we're not expecting to have their
(04:30):
their their star running back Darius Taylor. Also, Ohio State's
season low in rush defense this year is to the
yards per carry. They did it against Ohio and Washington.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
So I'm so hearing that it hasn't ever happened ever.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Hearing football, you're hearing the grudging realization that sounds like
this one pointer is going to stick. So one point
seven yards per carry for Minnesota. Part of the show
is we just go through the stats as the bold
prediction has been prett do it to us, and we
talk it out and try to see if we can
talk it out of happening. And then it's like, oh,
I have no argument here, and then you just the
(05:09):
realization and the the you know, you all know what
I'm talking about. It happens very often. Here's what tom
Ohio State, as we know, very mundane, very lackluster, no
explosive plays from the southfence. Couldn't buy an explosive play.
Minnesota has allowed zero rushes of at least thirty yards
(05:33):
this year. Ohio State has only had two. I'm saying
they have a thirty yard rush in this game for
one point. Only one point.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Yeah, the only one point. And I like that one.
I I feel compelled to ask that it be a
thirty four yard rush.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
But I know you you feel compelled, but I cannot.
I cannot do it.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
I don't really have grounds to fight you on this so.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
And I don't want to stablish grounds.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Your disregard, disrespect of the numbers that we hold so
dear on this show is disheartening, certainly, but you know,
I mean that's what we've come to be used to.
So all right, now you go thirty yards? You got it,
all right, Tony? How about this one Last week, Ohio
(06:28):
State's long run allowed was thirty four yards. That was
two or was it thirty six? Hang on, it was
thirty four yards to Joona Coleman. Last week, Minnesota's long
run by Ijiboi is funny Ijiboy was sixteen yards. Minnesota's
long run this week will be eight yards or less,
(06:49):
so half of what they had last week and less
than a quarter of what Ohio State allowed last week.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
I'm automatically going to allow that because that's pretty good.
That that's that's very bold. That is boy, You're you're
putting a lot of eggs in the Ohio State run
defense basket, but actually those eggs are in the Minnesota
rush offense basket because this was a bad running team
that we saw against Rutgers, and I feel like this
(07:20):
would almost require a missed assignment or a miss tackle,
and so yeah, like I'm we're gonna allow it. Like
anytime your long play of the day is under ten,
it's like, well, okay, I mean, it's it's a rarity,
it's it's bold, Tom, I give you credit. I'm partly
stammering because I can't believe what I just saw. If
(07:42):
you will my next one is one that has only
happened once this season. It was a predicted. It was
a bold prediction by Tom last week. So I shouldn't
shouldn't slam you for for not being well, there's one
of your rare bald predictions. I should say Max Claire
(08:05):
will have a touchdown in this game. He's due, he's
had one. What was that grambling? Maybe he's he's definitely
due in a real game.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
So here's my here's one of my multi pointers. I
have Max Clair scoring two touchdowns. So that was going
to be either a two or three pointer, depending on
where you wanted, you know, what you wanted to go
with their depending on because it feels like he's never
only had three touchdowns receiving in the last calendar year.
So yes, I have to you. You get your one pointer.
(08:36):
That's that's fine. He's only had three in the calendar
last calendar, he's never had more than one in a game.
So I was thinking that might be my three pointer,
that he would have two touchdowns. He's only had as
you said, one this year. Yeah, uh, you know, three
in the last twelve months and then never more than
one in a game. So that was going to be
(08:57):
my three pointer, but I will I'm will to listen
to your you know, feeble arguments.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Yes, and just to be clear, his his touchdown was
against Ohio. Sorry for misspeaking. I immediately say, no, this
cannot be a three pointer. But then I going look,
and you know he's had four touchdowns last year as
the main weapon, has one touchdown this year? How how
(09:25):
often does an Ohio State tight end have two touchdowns
any game? Jeremy record, I believe did it in.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
The in the in the Sugar Bowl against Clemson. That's
see what happened is that's the one that my mind
went to as well. So now I'm trying to think,
did Cad Stover have.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
I'm sure he did, and I can look that up
quickly as I try to find a way to just
we cannot allow this, This must not be allowed. This
must be stopped. And caate Stover in twenty twenty three,
I guarantee you he had he had one game of
two touchdowns. That was against Purdue in twenty twenty three.
(10:04):
Did he have it in twenty twenty two he had? Yes,
he also had a game in twenty twenty two with
two touchdowns. So it's like should something that has happened
three two times in the last four years, three and
a half years be worth three I'm almost I'm almost
(10:24):
defending you here, Tom, I'm almost on your side on
this one.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Four points. Fine, we'll agree.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
What's it gonna take for me to get out of
this car?
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Okay, he's gonna score two touchdowns and he's gonna get
the undercoating, all right? Can I can? We can we
sign the paperwork?
Speaker 1 (10:45):
You know what I've got to do here, Like, I've
got to have some sort of stipulation and they if
we're gonna allow this, and I hate that we're going
to allow this, the touchdowns cannot be from seventeen or.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
Thirty four yards, you have to pick one.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Well, I'm going to take seventeen although thirty four yards
right down the scene, that's the cowards way out.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Yeah, seventeen is the cowards way out, so I knew
you would take it. Okay, so not from seventeen yards.
I don't.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
I don't care for this one at all because two
touchdowns for three points does not seem like a lot.
But three touchdowns for Jeremiah would be three points, and
you know that's would it? I don't know. I don't
want to have that argument. Oh boy, I don't. I
don't care for this one, Max Claire, two touchdowns, one
(11:36):
cannot be. How about one has to be? No, no, no, okay,
But again, if this happens, it's the last time. Last
time we're doing the although you know, if you think
about it time because I'm also going with Max clear,
this is really only a two point?
Speaker 2 (11:53):
Correct?
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Yes? Yeah? Does that make me feel better?
Speaker 2 (11:56):
No? No, it doesn't as well it shouldn't.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
Here's my next one pointer, and I don't. I don't
feel great about many of my one pointers, and I
don't necessarily feel great about this one. But I'm gonna
get swept up and all the hubbub and say that
Aaron Scott feels like this should be a two pointer. Actually,
Aaron Scott will have a stat other than tackle.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
Aaron Scott will have a stat other than tackle. So
he's either got to play on defense and get a
TfL or a sack. He could force a fumble, he
could recover a fumble. I think this is a good one.
I think there's a decent possibility you see him on
(12:43):
defense because when they bring a guy out for interviews,
a lot, and they did. On Wednesday, we got a
chance to talk to Aaron Scott and I always go
back to the Chris Olave interview in the twenty eighteen
season where we had all sorts of people in the
comments on YouTube, why are they talking of this scrub?
And he was like around Halloween and then all of
a sudden, krys Lave turned into Krystal off A. Generally,
(13:06):
that's something that is sort of like a precursor to
this guy is about to take enough, you know, take
the next step in his progression and take on a
bigger role. You know. Does that mean he's getting into
the rotation in the out as an outside corner? Yeah? Possibly.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Ryan Days said he's gonna play more based on the
special teams.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
So yes, And that's and that's one of those things
where you earn your way onto the field on offense
or defense by being outstanding on special teams. And he
has been. His effort has been an exemplary on special teams.
The last nine kickoffs or something like that, he's been
the first guy to hit the thirty yard line. So
this is one where this is not nearly as bold
(13:45):
as it sounds. But also I have no grounds to
oppose this. This is a very clever one where yeah
that I mean not that clever, but it's it's it's
a clever one where you've kind of like you've sort
of seen the rise in the stock market coming and
you've bought your shares just in time. And it's like, yeah,
(14:10):
I can't you know, you're not doing us on any
insider information. You're just you know, you just have timed
the market on this correctly. So yeah, I have to
say yes to this, but I even more grudgingly than
saying yes, I kind of have to tip my hat
to you on the fact that you have timed this.
I think very very well.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
We shall see, all right.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
How about this one, Tony. What is Ohio State's offense? Terrible?
Speaker 3 (14:33):
At it?
Speaker 2 (14:34):
The red worst the red zone, Tony. That is why
it is so shocking. Frankly, this could be a two pointer.
Oh wow, Ohio State scores touchdowns on every red zone
trip they make this week. And if you'd like to
make it a two pointer instead, I will give you
a minimum number. They've got to make at least three trips.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
I feel like I've been kind enough to you already today,
like overly so, and I'm going to assume that the
last time they are perfect in the red zone on
touchdowns this season was the Grambling State game, which doesn't
really count when we look at these sorts of things,
and I'm just trying to find it here. Okay, So
red zone conversions by game four Ohio States, they haven't
(15:23):
even been perfect this season other than other than Texas
time they were one for one.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Mm hm.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
They have to have at least more than one attempt.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
They have to have more than one attempt.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
Okay, that's seventeen thirty four.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
Wow. Their touchdown percession percentage in the red zone is
sixty five percent. They are fifty eighth in the nation, Tony,
they're tied with Yukon there just slightly ahead, a fraction
of a percent ahead of fiu Yaoza, Tony, this is
a seven pointer.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
You took your finger way off the track.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
A minimum of minimum of two Ohio State score touchdowns
on every red zone trip, minimum of two.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Okay, God, what if there's a chance there may be
no red zone trips? The way they're gonna be slinging
this ball around and running for thirty thirty yard carrieres
So just prepare yourself to be laugh and laughing stock
of this entire show. Once again. Here's one that makes
me feel like a hater. This may be controversial, Tom,
(16:23):
This may upset some people. This may upset the folks
in Indiana. No impact plays for Ohio State defensive end
Kayden Curry. He's now the Jeremiah Smith of the defense,
and we have to say he's just gonna have tackles.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
Yeah, yeah, Okay, So that's a good one because it
does feel like you have the game, you have the
j T. Twoy Moloile Penn State kind of game, and
then the next week everyone, you know, the offensive line
is up and they're pointing at you instead of the
Mike Backer was like there that guy, don't let him.
(17:00):
This is another one where I don't really have grounds
to say, Well, let's see, let's look at Cayden Curry's
career stats. At least this season. How many how many
times this year has he had no stats other than tackles? Texas, Texas,
and that was it? Yeah, yeah, I have to I
(17:24):
have to allow this one. I think that's I think
that's a that's a fair one, because this is very
clearly not a Texas level team, and he's done it
now three games in a row. And I think they're
going to be very, very good on defense. So I
think you're gonna have plenty of opportunities to make tackles
(17:45):
for loss. And given you know, given what his play
was last week, you would assume you're going to see
a bunch of him, at least in the first half.
And so yeah, I think this is a good one.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
I was looking for ways to replace this one, but
it just kept coming back to it. So again, I
apologize to the fans out there, this.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Is not my intent, all right, So how about this
one tony one hundred and twenty two career passing attempts?
How many interceptions has Drake Lindsay, Minnesota quarterback thrown in
one hundred and twenty two career passing attempts?
Speaker 1 (18:12):
Is it two?
Speaker 2 (18:13):
It is two? Tony? How many interceptions is Drake Lindsay
going to throw on Saturday?
Speaker 1 (18:19):
At least three? Two?
Speaker 2 (18:21):
It is too, matching his career total tony two interceptions
on Saturday.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
I again, this is the title of this is fourteen
big grudgingly accepted bold predictions for Ohio State Minnesota two
interceptions for Drake lindsay, how what qualifier can I add
or take away from it? Is there any defenders seventeen
or thirty four? Thirty four? I think it is a
(18:49):
Bocari Miles. It cannot be Bocari Miles if he is
still on the team. Seventeen. It cannot be what tj
Alford as an interception? Does that work for you? It
can't be seventeen or thirty four.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
Listen, I feel like I've got to give you something
here because otherwise you get surly. So you know, it's yeah,
it's it's fine. It's like when my kids haven't eaten
and they get angry, and that's that's you. If you haven't,
it's like, it's angry, but it's it's if you can't
be a hater instead of being hungry. If you get
be a hater, you get you get angry. So that's
your kind of angry. So yeah, I'll allow that just
(19:26):
to placate you and move on.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
Speaking of jersey numbers, here's one that was going to
be like a three pointer, which was that somebody scores
a touchdown the length of their jersey number. However, for
one point, somebody scores a touchdown the length of a
jersey number of their position.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
So a wide receiver scores a is it the starters
or is it you know, anyone on the roster, so.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
That the scholarship.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
Oh man, I can't wait to go through and start
to parse whether.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
Cana FLI this kind of saviies on scholarship.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
All right, So now I have to pull up the
roster and really look at these numbers because this feels
like it feels like this is too broad.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
Okay, that's so, but well let's.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
See, maybe maybe we we You have to eliminate either
running backs or wide receivers for the grip. You can
have tight end and one of the others. How about that.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
I don't I don't need I don't think I need
tight end. But that's why you're gonna make me keep them,
I understand. In that case it comes down to, you know,
so running back you need a carry of twenty five
or twelve or thirty two or twenty four or twenty
one as opposed to receiver where for seventeen thirteen.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
One, four, five, seven, eight, eleven, thirteen, seventeen, eighteen. I mean,
this is this is pretty Frankly, I think you should
probably not get tight ends and it's just wide receivers,
and even then it feels a little generous.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
But okay, would you rather be running back and uh
and tight ends for two?
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Running? No, it can be running back and tight ends
for one, or it can be wide receivers for one.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
Yeah, let's just do wide receivers. A wide receiver score
is a touchdown and length of a jersey number of
that position room.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
That's I'm just trying to keep things moving along at
this point. That's not even it. That's not even a
good one. That's not even a clever one. That's just
a that's just nonsense. All right, So I have I
am missing one I miscounted, and so I'm missing a
one pointer here.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
Correct.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
How about I go ahead and do my two pointer
in then I'll come back to the one.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
Ohio State has only allowed one pass play longer than
thirty yards all season. That's why Tony it will be
so shocking when red shirt freshman wide receiver Jalen Smith
of Minnesota has at least a thirty four yard reception.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
See, you're right in my wheelhouse because I really like
Jalen Smith based based on the one game I've seen
him play against Rutgers. He was very impressive. He has
at least a thirty four yarder and that's your two pointer.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
That's a two pointer.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
Oh I don't. I think that's more of a one pointer. Frankly,
I understand what you're saying about Ohio State not allowing
plays of a certain length. I again, this is where
I'm trying to talk us out of this. How many
(22:51):
Let me let me just take a quick look to
see how many plays of forty yards and thirty yards
that he has this season, because he had over one
hundred yards receiving against Rutgers.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
He had one long reception against Rutgers that got him,
that got him there.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
And I'm just scrolling down looking for Jalen Smith has
two receptions of thirty plus yards, but both of those
have gone also sixty plus and one went seventy. So
again these are okay, Tom, this is me, Himon and Han,
We're gonna allow it. At least thirty four yards.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
He's had six receptions total in his career, so that
feels like was no.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
So see, he just blew up against the Rutgers and
we're like, boy, this guy he's a star. He's everywhere. Again,
he was very good. So Jalen Smith thirty four yard reception, okay.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
His other other he had four receptions last week against
Rutgers two against Buffalo. So he's never done it outside
of the state, University of New York and New York's
Big ten team. So I mean, unless iiO State can
clay claim to something involving New York, I don't see
how this could even possibly happen.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
Well, okay, let me throw in one one negator if
it were, the reception cannot be seventeen can't be caught
seventeen yards downfield and then and then run. He got
you anywhere else, But it cannot be seventeen air yards.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
Cannot be exactly seventeen yards exactly. Okay, cannot be exactly
seventeen yards downfield. That's fine. I will give you the negator.
Chomp on that one.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
There you go, all right, my two pointer because I
am now done with all of my ones. Ohio State
is something they have not done. They did it against Graanmlke,
but again, Ohio State will score on their first three drives.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
They didn't do that against Texas. They didn't do that
against Ohio They didn't do that against Washington. They didn't
score on any of their first three drives against Washington.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
Well they scored on their third.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
Well oh okay, Yeah, scoring plays from scoring plays from
thirty four yards don't count, so field goal, thirty four
yard field goal or thirty four yard touchdown. I mean, Tony, what.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
A pretty good, pretty good, pretty good odds? Thirty four
yard scores don't count. Okay, but seventeen year yard scores
the gate a pop scoes count twice, as we.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
Know, don't. I don't recall saying that.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
Okay, all right, so that that's a good time. Now
you are just missing your.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Miss one well last one pointer. M How about this,
Julian Sayan has a career long rush in this game.
I don't know what Julian San's career long rush is,
but whatever it is, this will be the longest I know. Yeah. Uh,
(26:01):
but twelve yarder last week at least because it was
like a third and seventeen and he picked up he
got him to fourth and five, that might have been
the long one.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
Let's see twelve.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
Yeah, that's listed as his long last week, and I
don't think he's had a longer.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
One prior to that and frankly, we don't need to
I don't need to look this up because it hasn't
happened yet.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
So I mean correct ones in the history of Tony
not since the Big Bang has this happened.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
Although it has also happened several times.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
Well, yes, but he hasn't broken the new high score.
Speaker 1 (26:41):
Yes, so we will allow that for one point.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
And I'm gonna with thirteen yards.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
That's what I'm going to assume.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
Yeah, career long rush for Julian insane.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
I hope we're both forgetting a forty yarder in there.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
Yeah, I don't think. I don't think we are, but
I will go back and double check.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
And so tom my final one. My three pointer here
is something that has been done six times in the
history of college football. An Ohio state wide receiver, particularly
(27:19):
Jeremiah Smith, will go, We'll hit two hundred yards receiving.
That would be his career high, something he has never done.
And the last two hundred yard game was the Rose
Ball with Jackson Smith and Jigba, where he went for
three forty seven. The previous one was also Jackson Smith
(27:43):
and Jigba for two hundred and forty against Nebraska in
twenty twenty one has not been approached since then. The
boat the San Antonio Holmes in two thousand and four
was the most recent. So only one person has done
this in twenty years, and that's Jackson Smith and Jigba.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
What was your two pointer again?
Speaker 1 (28:06):
Two pointer? Jeremiah Smith will have one hundred yards receiving. No,
it was the score in the first three drives. Thirty
four yard scores don't count.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
Wow, this feels like two one and a half pointers.
This is great. I cannot tell you how deeply uncomfortable
it makes me to be like on the other side
of the no way, jeremiahs it's not going to do that,
like whatever it is, like Jeremiah Smith is not going
to do the like jose Canseco, like rescue a family
out of a house fire, and like the dryer goes
(28:40):
on the left, like on the way to the stadium,
and then two hundred yards like it be like, yeah,
that's about two and a half points. I really don't
care for this one at all. But also he hasn't
done it, and it hasn't happened. And also Minnesota's past
defense is not bad Minnesota, I mean Rutgers didn't do
anything last week, but Rutgers is Rutgers is not particularly good.
(29:03):
Rutgers yards per oh I say that in Ruckers yards
per completion last week was eleven point nine.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
So they're going to be focused on Jeremiah Smith. It's
going to be nearly impossible for him to get two
hundred yards. It's a three pointer.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
So this is one where I offer generously offered to
trade you two touchdowns for Max Claire for two hundred
yards for Jeremiah Smith because you didn't think mine was
particularly worthy. So obviously that should mean you should gleefully
take this opportunity.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
I would do it in a second, except there's the
qualification there that one can't be seventeen and I fully
expect Max Claire to score from seventeen yards. If a
word for that, I would have done it. But I'm
just very my my convictions on this have that he
will score two touchdowns, but one of them will be
from seventeen And now that we have stricken that from
the possibility of being in part of the record, I
(29:57):
cannot in good conscience and good faith because I fully
expect one of those touchdowns to be from seventeen yards.
I apologize. I know this is not the nature of
the show that we have created that we do these
sorts of things. I would trade in an instant. It's
not me, it's the seventeen yards Tom. I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
I just want to compliment you on how consistent your
picture has been with all of the gas lighting that's
in that room right now. I think that that's really
impressive that you've able to be able to maintain that
that consistency of quality of photo with with all of that.
Speaker 1 (30:31):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
Yeah, two hundred and seventeen yards.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
I couldn't possibly. Now do you want to trade, I'll
do two hundred two.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
I'm trying to remember what the Minnesota I think the
Minnesota area code is three one two.
Speaker 1 (30:58):
No, that's now, now that's Chicago.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
See what the Minnesota area code is? Oh two one
eight is northern Minnesota. Six two is Minneapolis. So six
hundred and twelve yards for Jeremiah Smith. I'll give you
four points for that one.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
I could do two one six, but we've already agreed
on two oh two. But at least that gives you
some some a chance for fun. You know what if
forgets it?
Speaker 3 (31:27):
All?
Speaker 1 (31:27):
Right? Okay, that's like I was just saying, like the.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
Show, you have to give that one to me, because
the universe owes me after last week. So yes, either
Max player is going to score two touchdowns and they're
both going to be from eighteen yards, or Jeremiah Smith
is going to finish with two hundred and four yards
receiving either one of those. I would I would accept
either one of those from the universe as an apology
for what it did to me last week.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
I would not mind if Jeremiah finishes with two o
five and one of your Max Claire touchdowns is from
seven and we both are just super angry at being
so close on these three pointers. So all right, okay,
So now the bonus, the freebie tom at least two
players with three yard carries in this game, I bequeathed to.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
You either team, okay, no, no, oh?
Speaker 1 (32:19):
Does all right?
Speaker 2 (32:20):
Either team okay? And for me, I will say that
with it being a night game, at some point on
the field, I will think it smells like auto.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
Jacket, all right, And I will ask you after the
game if this happens, and if you say no, we
know that's a point.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Also, that's negative two points for you.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
Tony I'm pretty sure has already happened. Let's I mean,
let's be honest, it's a night game. I'll be down
by the student section.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
We'll see what happens.
Speaker 2 (32:59):
So there you go.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
Both predictions all in the books. If you're keeping a
square at home, and I know you are, then you'll
be able to watch along. It'll be fun. We don't
print cards out for this, of course, but feel free
to do that and hand them out to your family
and keep score. Is a great time for all involved.
