a second team All Big Ten quarterback Will Howard and
town mc quarter both thirteen. Okay, so you're either gonna
be first team or third team if you're the highest
state starting quarterback since Ervan Meyer arrived, since the erbn
Meyer era. So are you going over for under? Second
team All Big Ten?

I feel like this smart answer is under. But now
I'm thinking through and I'm thinking, well, who's gonna be
the first team? So if this feels like something where
whoever wins the Big Ten is going to you know
it'll be Dante Moore, It'll be.

Droul or will it matter what their stats are?

Again, I don't put a lot of stock into this
stuff because I think it's all kind of nonsense and
pseudo science.

To a certain degree, I will say under for that.

Really it should have been like first and a half
team or second and a half team. Really would have
been a better way to set it, because I feel
like second team is entirely plausible.

Gets the BEG ten championship game, maybe they win it,
maybe they don't. And Julian Sant Timbers are good but
not c. J. Stroud Dwayne Haskins level otherworldly.

So you're saying it's more likely that two players have
better seasons than Julian saying does, and also that two
teams do better than Ohio State does in the regular season.
This is this is another way of how you're voicing
your opinion on how things are gonna go.

I believe I've made my opinions on the intelligence and
decision making of the voting walks well quite apparent in
this show already. So I don't know that Drew Aller's numbers.
I expect Julian Sage to have better numbers than Drew Aller.
He's the runaway favorite right now, just as Penn State
is right.

Luke Altmeyer Dante Moo where I know he's a he's
a new starting quarterback, but he said five or six
starts as a true freshman at UCLA, so he's not
exactly new. So I me I'm gonna go over just
because I mean it's Is it outrageous to say, Ohio
State starting quarterback is gonna be first seam well Bicton, No, no, no,
not at all for you to say that, for you

to think it. So there we go, embrace debate.

Tom, I would credit that to a poorly sent line
more than that. But you know, because if it's if
it's one and a half, I'm taking the under. If
it's two and a half, I'm taking over probably. So

exactly the opposite.

So all right, here's the next one. One thousand and
fifty eight receiving yards Cardelta. That was I believe the
number for Gary Wilson in twenty twenty one, which to say, hey, Cardelta,
he can have a Gary Wilson season. Of course, how
many games? Fifteen, sixteen games, thousand and fifty eight yards?
I believe Cardinal Tate's gonna be over one thousand. I

wanted to put a number on it to dude, So
are one thousand and fifty eight yards over under the
Cardinal Tates? And Tomm I will remind you you are a.

Drove so the number of games is one. Can you
know confounding factor here? The other thing that I do
wonder about is how much stuff is going to get
spread around because you look at last year and sixteen games,
Jeremiah Smith at thirteen hundred and fifteen yards, he was
the only one to break a thousand and fifty eight
yards and that was in sixteen games. And I can

to book a thou and eleven Carneal Tates, seven hundred
and thirty three. I think I think I'm gonna go
under here because you're also you're gonna have Brandon and
this is gonna have you know, Gray, if you tell me,
you know, set the overfront of well, maybe we may
get to a Brandan in this over under, but you
know you set the over under for Brandon, and this
is at seven hundred and fifty. That's maybe an over

Jeremiah Smith. You're gonna go broke betting unders on him.
So you also have Max Player. You also have Hey,
they're gonna want to run the ball a bunch. Hey,
they're gonna I.

I'll take somewhere between Carneal Tates seven thirty three from
last year and one thousand and fifty eight. Just between
between number of receivers and number of games and the
uncertainty there, I think the odds are it's probably a
little lower.

The reason of a Mecca didn't do that last year
is because it was twelve point five yard per carrier
reception average, Colonel Tight fourteen point one. If he does
that again this year with the eighty receptions I had
last year, than Boom he's over one thousand and fifty eight.

I'm gonna go under that because I bet Smith is
also under that, and again Max Clair involved here as well,
may bring some numbers down. So I'm I've got like
this fifty seven fifty eight fifty seven yard like window
where I think he's gonna be one thousand yards. But
to go beyond that now, it's like these these yards

gotta come from somewhere. So I will probably get some
pretty nice odds for just saying I'm gonna go a thousand,
but not I'm gonna go under ten fifty.

Between one thousand and seventeen and one thousand and thirty four.

Perfect here are a couple that are related that I
really liked to And I'm just gonna give you the
number first over under thirty two tackles for Riley Petty
John this season. And I'll tell you why why I
picked that number here in a sec. But I know
by the looking nobody's come close to that as a

I'm looking at fourth linebacker from last year and first
linebackers Cody Simon, second linebacker Sunny Styles, third linebacker is
r Velari's fourth linebacker last year was CJ.

Hicks. CJ.

Hicks had twenty two tackles and.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Carvel Reis had forty three.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
I'm gonna say under on this one, boy, this is
the this is the Hater episode.

But here's the thing.

The third linebacker last year in sixteen games, had forty
three tackles.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
Peyton Pierce's third linebacker.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
So unless someone gets hurt, I don't think the fourth
linebacker is likely to be I mean, would.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
You said thirty thirty two? Thirty two? Okay, where did
that number come from? That is the combined number of
freshman linebacker tackles since twenty eighteen.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Yeah, So when I say that real time, Yeah, when
I say that feels high. Yeah, unless you're literally Jeremiah Smith.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
You don't combine.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Here's all the numbers from the net, because that was
like Jeremiah Smiths season in twenty twenty four was basically
the last five or six fourst drown NFL Draft pick
wide receivers at Ohio State, all their freshman years combined
basically added up to Jeremiah Smith's. That's not a reasonable expectation.
I think Riley Pettitcohn's is going to have a nice season.

That seems like a real high.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Number, and so yeah, I'm going down there. I just
wanted to throw that number out there because so I'll
give you this number instead. So six is the most
for a true freshman linebacker at Ohio State since Baron
Brownie had fourteen in twenty seventeen. So if I set
the number at fourteen, I'm going over that. I think

he's going to play as much as a Baron Browning. Well,
I don't know. I don't even remember how much Baron
Browley played that year. But they were also needy help
Riley Petty Jones as a fourth linebacker. If C. J.
Hicks had twenty two tackles last you said yes, then
I think I think we could see Riley pretty jen
with over fourteen, especially if nine of those kill in

Week two. Yeah, that's that's a question.

And what I don't know that people have a great
grasp on how bad Grambling is.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Grambling.

I looked on the sp plus like all Divisions list,
that's the Bill Connley Advanced Analytics. Grambling was ranked two
hundredth So they're not even a good Newer Division two
teams ranked higher than them. This is this is not
even a good FCS team.

So yeah, you're going to.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
See a lot week two. Just the numbers that I'm
looking at right now are CJ. Hicks, who was a
fourth linebacker last year twenty two. Peyton Pierce, who was
the freshman linebacker who was the very clearly on track
for very big things. Played a ton on special teams,
you saw him on defense. He had four tackles last year,

and twenty two plus four divided by two gives you thirteen.
So you're gonna average out two. You're kind of right
in that range.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
What Bak Pierce also did not have a spring football host.
That's true. Yeah, So.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
All right, I have to go over on someone and
this is this is one where I'm kind of throwing
my hands up in the air and saying, yeah, I
think he's gonna have a very good year.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
What does that look like on the stat sheet?
Speaker 2 (11:18):
I I don't know, but yeah, you to your point,
you could easily have six seven against Grambling in the
second half. So yeah, maybe all right, right, we will
both go over the fourteen on that one.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Here's one tom over under two and a half postseason
games for the Buckeyes this year, over under two and
a half postseason Those could be whatever postseason games you want. Yeah,
the norm the norm used to be two even without
a fourteenth playoffs, right right, yeah, two and a half.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
So either you've got to go to the Big Ten
championship game and then make the playoff and then win
one playoff game, or you've got.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
To win two playoff games or right three think.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
I think I'm gonna go over on this one because
I think going to the Big Ten championship game and
making the College Football Playoff semi finals, I think that's
really I think that's a reasonable expectation for this team.
I'm not there are people playing people who are going
to tell you if they don't win the Big Ten
at and beat Michigan and go to the College foot

we'll play on semi finals.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
Then it's a failed season. I don't think that.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
But I think between getting to Indianapolis and winning a
playoff game or two, I think the odds are they're
probably gonna do at least one of those two. And
you know, you could very easily do both. This is
an Ohio State team that I'm gonna we'll talk about
this bunch this this week, but I'm going to caution everyone,
(12:51):
no matter what happens this weekend, don't overreact. If they
beat Texas, do not be the person who's posting, you know,
clown fraud from Austin and the program is dead and
arch bad thing is never going to be anything. And
if Ohio State loses, don't do the Julian sayans of fraud,
and Ohio State is dead as a program. Like both
(13:13):
of these teams are gonna improve a ton from week
one to mid October, December or January.

I think you could have.

These two teams playing Week one and these two teams
playing again. Hey ha, colleg football playoffs on my final

have two very very different games. So I think, frankly,
for both of these teams, I would probably Ohio State
and Texas.

I'd probably go.

Over on both of them, even if one of them
looks bad on Saturday. I don't know that that materially moves,
you know, for me, just because there's so many new
faces for both of those teams.

One postseason comes.

Around, do not freezing cold take yourself this weekend, though,
regardless of how it goes.

I will go over as well. And I don't know
if that means big time championship and then too, you know,
and then to the final floor or what. But they're
gonna be favored forever. So like, if you're one of
the favorites, why not expect them to win at least
three postseason games. I want to get back to an

individual here. Tom Edric Houston is a second year defensive tackle.
I have taken the statistics from the second year of
Drama Jones and the second year of Tyler Williams, both
two fantastic three texts in Ohio State history. I have
combined them and then divided that number by two to

Tyleek's numbers were not big in his second year, right, right,

Movement, but also Drama Jones have like fifty right.

But you'll you'll get some number two. You're gonna go

six and a half tackles, if you're starting three tack
at high State, you should.

Have you yeah, yeah, I mean I'm looking. I'm looking
at last.

Year's soix and a half tackles. Yeah, three and a
half tackles for loss, one half sack.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
Okay, so both of Ohio State's interior defensive tackles went
way over that last year in terms of tackles. So
I'll say over on that three and a half and
two and a half. Ty Hamilton had three and a
half sacks.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
Tyler Gwaims had two and a half.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Eight tackles for loss for TI League, six tackles for
loss for Ty Hamilton. I'm probably just gonna go over
over over on all three of those. Just I mean,
we'll see, we'll see exactly how healthy he is week
one and how long whatever lingers in the season for him.
But I think, you know, unless the unless, this is
(15:52):
a much more serious thing than we have been led
to believe. I don't think that's going to materially impact
his playing time for the whole season. So I'll go
over over and over there.

I would agree with you. Here here's Tyler Dremond Jones
as as a recher freshman. Fifty two tackles. I'm gonna
probably go on. I'm gonna go under that under that. Yeah,
four tackles for loss, I'll go over. No sacks, I'll
go over that. Yeah. So yeah, there you go. All right,
very fair enough, fair enough, let's get over to in
that vain the I'm setting the over under for the

tackle for loss leader this year thirteen. So are you
going over under? And who will be that team leader? Yeah?
That's way over last year.

Wait yeah, wait, wait Tatsuma last year had twenty two,
which is like, well, certainly someone will go. But the
second person on the team was Tody Simon, who had
a great year in sixteen games and got to thirteen.
So I also think you're gonna see more rotation at
the defensive end spots this year than you did last year. Boy,

thirteen is such a high number, but they you look
at Jack Sawyer, and Jack Sawyer felt like he had
a great year and he had nine sacks but just
nine tackles for loss.

So the team leader in twenty twenty one was seven.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
Yeah, I think I'm getting five. I think I'm gonna
go under that. But man, Sonny Styles is going to
leave the team. I think, just based purely on Snap Lowell,
he's gonna play. Sonny Styles had eleven last year, Kitleb
(17:30):
Downs had eight last year.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
You know, there's a scenario where Caleb.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
Downs does this and it's like safety leading your team
and tackles for loss. That would be really remarkable, but
also it's Kaleb Downs, so you couldn't run well, there's
no way. So I'll say under and I'll say that
Sonny Styles leads the team. But they have like six
people with between nine and twelve cles for loss.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Yeah, and You've got to go so last year that
guy was over thirteen. You have to go back to
Chase Young twenty nineteen before the last time somebody else
was over and they had two guys over in twenty nineteen.
That's a that's a number of years without somebody having
at least thirteen really like only twelve. But I'm gonna
go over and I'm gonna take Sony Styles at like
thirteen and a half fourteen. Yeah, and that's that's fair,

I mean, we're we're picking the same player and we're
like one one and a half, all right.

And here's the thing.

After the Grambling game, someone could be halfway there, Like
you could have someone with six tackles for loss after
week two and liked. Then you kind of go, well, Okay,
I guess it's going to be over, but I don't
know how much you're gonna see individual guys play in
that game, especially the starters. So yeah, well we'll say
you might have a guy who's got four or five

after week two who finishes this season with four or five.

That's that's a real possibility as well. And Sonny Styles
have three against Texas last year. So just something to
keep in mind. Can I.

C J. Hicks over under three and a half tackles
for long after week two?
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Well, okay, I will say, because that Gramlke thing, uh huh,
sure is I'm gonna go under because I think he
might get three just against Graham Bling and nothing against Okay,
So yeah, boy, that Grand like bol prediction shows it
is gonna be something. I hope we just do it
on the bands like.

Over under a number of times we say wow during
the Grand Brands performance, seven and a half.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
Number of times you clap offbeat.

I hope, I hope they remember of times Tony dust
the white Man's overbite in the press box during the

I yeah, I hope they bring the band because.

The last time, the last time they brought a HBCU
team up here, the band did not come and the
football was underwhelming. So I'm super looking forward to that,
that band performance. But all right, we got to talk
about other stuff. Yeah, I got two more, I got
too more. Enough about Grand Lake. Let's get back to
Ohio State's season and the text.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
Last year, Ohio State, do you tell me whether do
yard rushing games they have individually? Last year?
Speaker 2 (19:58):
I think it was a very small number because I
looked up.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Was it was it like two? It was three? Three? Okay,
and one of those was the last game of the year.
But winch on Judkins said two in the in the
non conference regular season, Western Michigan Marshall and then nothing
until the Notre Dame Championship three all year. Yeah, I'm
setting the line this year at three and a half,
(20:25):
and the situation may be remarkably similar to last year
with don't talk Carlos slack for we know, don't talk
about just two running backs, but still the idea that well,
if you've got four or fives on the numbers are
going to be even lower in terms of getting one
hundred yards and trying to slow things down a little
bit sore. Three and a half seems remarkably low for

individual running low ish based on what they've had in
the past. So Tom three and a.

Half, I'm going over and I think you've got I
think it's going to be a little bit less of
a fifty to fifty split of carries than it was
last year. I'll pull up the rushing stats real quick,
just to see what the exact it was. Yeah, quin
John Jenks one hundred and ninety four, Trevian Henderson one
hundred and forty four, Will Howard one hundred and five.

And I don't think you're gonna see quite as much
Julian saying and running the ball as you saw with
Will Howard, and I think you're gonna have I mean
two hundred to one hundred and fifty in terms of
like James Peoples and CJ.

At On Donalds.

And that's not outrageous third running back last year with
James Peoples with them out fifty carries two hundred and
one fifty and fifty for the three running backs, the
top three running backs.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
I can I can see that. All.

I'm gonna say over and I'll say at least three
for James Peoples and at least one for CJ.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
Donaldson.

But we're gonna put the Grambling exception on here. What
over under for Vo Jackson rushing yards against Grambling seventy
four and a half.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
And that's the thing. Two of these games it's Grambling, right,
So I'm going to go over as well. And we
know I've seen that's that three guys rush for one
hundred yards in again before. I don't expect it to
be this one. Those games have topek competitive enough, right right,
also not so competitive that you can't get the freshman
in the barrier.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
Well, and you also see the now we've taken the
helicopter and put it up in the air.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
The lawnmower and put it off in the air on
a helicopter.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
I guess those are also games where I think Jaden
Ballard might have had one hundred yard receiving game against
Akron because he broke a seventy five or eighty yarder
late in that game in twenty twenty.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
What was that one?
Speaker 2 (22:38):
So you could see, you know, you could see a
couple guys with one of them being a true freshman
who just breaks the seventy yarder in the fourth quarter
of a game where you're not going to tell him
to take a knee at the first down marker, so
he's just going to keep running until someone tackled him.
So yeah, I'll go over the three and a half
for sure.

So last one here over under than a half. First
Team All Americans on defense for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
The free space here of course, Caleb Downs. Will anybody

Here's all the numbers from the net, because that was
like Jeremiah Smiths season in twenty twenty four was basically
the last five or six fourst drown NFL Draft pick
wide receivers at Ohio State, all their freshman years combined
basically added up to Jeremiah Smith's. That's not a reasonable expectation.
I think Riley Pettitcohn's is going to have a nice season.

Number, and so yeah, I'm going down there. I just
wanted to throw that number out there because so I'll
give you this number instead. So six is the most
for a true freshman linebacker at Ohio State since Baron
Brownie had fourteen in twenty seventeen. So if I set
the number at fourteen, I'm going over that. I think

he's going to play as much as a Baron Browning. Well,
I don't know. I don't even remember how much Baron
Browley played that year. But they were also needy help
Riley Petty Jones as a fourth linebacker. If C. J.
Hicks had twenty two tackles last you said yes, then
I think I think we could see Riley pretty jen
with over fourteen, especially if nine of those kill in

Week two. Yeah, that's that's a question.

And what I don't know that people have a great
grasp on how bad Grambling is.

hundredth So they're not even a good Newer Division two
teams ranked higher than them. This is this is not
even a good FCS team.

See a lot week two. Just the numbers that I'm
looking at right now are CJ. Hicks, who was a
fourth linebacker last year twenty two. Peyton Pierce, who was
the freshman linebacker who was the very clearly on track
for very big things. Played a ton on special teams,
you saw him on defense. He had four tackles last year,

and twenty two plus four divided by two gives you thirteen.
So you're gonna average out two. You're kind of right
in that range.

What Bak Pierce also did not have a spring football host.
That's true. Yeah, So.

All right, I have to go over on someone and
this is this is one where I'm kind of throwing
my hands up in the air and saying, yeah, I
think he's gonna have a very good year.

What does that look like on the stat sheet?

I I don't know, but yeah, you to your point,
you could easily have six seven against Grambling in the
second half. So yeah, maybe all right, right, we will
both go over the fourteen on that one.

Here's one tom over under two and a half postseason
games for the Buckeyes this year, over under two and
a half postseason Those could be whatever postseason games you want. Yeah,
the norm the norm used to be two even without
a fourteenth playoffs, right right, yeah, two and a half.

So either you've got to go to the Big Ten
championship game and then make the playoff and then win
one playoff game, or you've got.

To win two playoff games or right three think.

I think I'm gonna go over on this one because
I think going to the Big Ten championship game and
making the College Football Playoff semi finals, I think that's
really I think that's a reasonable expectation for this team.
I'm not there are people playing people who are going
to tell you if they don't win the Big Ten
at and beat Michigan and go to the College foot

Then it's a failed season. I don't think that.

But I think between getting to Indianapolis and winning a
playoff game or two, I think the odds are they're
probably gonna do at least one of those two. And

an Ohio State team that I'm gonna we'll talk about
this bunch this this week, but I'm going to caution everyone,

no matter what happens this weekend, don't overreact. If they
beat Texas, do not be the person who's posting, you know,
clown fraud from Austin and the program is dead and
arch bad thing is never going to be anything. And
if Ohio State loses, don't do the Julian sayans of fraud,
and Ohio State is dead as a program. Like both

of these teams are gonna improve a ton from week
one to mid October, December or January.

way over that last year in terms of tackles. So
I'll say over on that three and a half and
two and a half. Ty Hamilton had three and a
half sacks.

Tyler Gwaims had two and a half.

Eight tackles for loss for TI League, six tackles for
loss for Ty Hamilton. I'm probably just gonna go over
over over on all three of those. Just I mean,
we'll see, we'll see exactly how healthy he is week
one and how long whatever lingers in the season for him.
But I think, you know, unless the unless, this is

a much more serious thing than we have been led
to believe. I don't think that's going to materially impact
his playing time for the whole season. So I'll go
over over and over there.

I would agree with you. Here here's Tyler Dremond Jones
as as a recher freshman. Fifty two tackles. I'm gonna
probably go on. I'm gonna go under that under that. Yeah,

at Jack Sawyer, and Jack Sawyer felt like he had
a great year and he had nine sacks but just

Yeah, I think I'm getting five. I think I'm gonna
go under that. But man, Sonny Styles is going to
leave the team. I think, just based purely on Snap Lowell,
he's gonna play. Sonny Styles had eleven last year, Kitleb

You know, there's a scenario where Caleb.

Downs does this and it's like safety leading your team
and tackles for loss. That would be really remarkable, but

Sonny Styles leads the team. But they have like six
people with between nine and twelve cles for loss.

Yeah, and You've got to go so last year that
guy was over thirteen. You have to go back to
Chase Young twenty nineteen before the last time somebody else
was over and they had two guys over in twenty nineteen.
That's a that's a number of years without somebody having
at least thirteen really like only twelve. But I'm gonna
go over and I'm gonna take Sony Styles at like
thirteen and a half fourteen. Yeah, and that's that's fair,

non conference regular season, Western Michigan Marshall and then nothing

and the situation may be remarkably similar to last year

about just two running backs, but still the idea that well,
if you've got four or fives on the numbers are
going to be even lower in terms of getting one
hundred yards and trying to slow things down a little
bit sore. Three and a half seems remarkably low for

individual running low ish based on what they've had in

a fifty to fifty split of carries than it was

know I've seen that's that three guys rush for one
hundred yards in again before. I don't expect it to
be this one. Those games have topek competitive enough, right right,
also not so competitive that you can't get the freshman
in the barrier.

helicopter and put it up in the air.

I guess those are also games where I think Jaden
Ballard might have had one hundred yard receiving game against
Akron because he broke a seventy five or eighty yarder
late in that game in twenty twenty.

So you could see, you know, you could see a
couple guys with one of them being a true freshman
who just breaks the seventy yarder in the fourth quarter
of a game where you're not going to tell him

little secret. When you're covering a team. If you're like
an AP voter and you're covering a team, you're covering
a team. You're not watching all these games. So you
have these like shared experience games where if you have
a big game in week zero.

Everyone sees it.

If you have a big game week one, number one
versus two, everyone's gonna see it. So if arch Manning
has a big game, that's gonna make arch Manning's Heisman
odds skyrock. If Julian Sayan has a big game, that
can make Julian Sayance hess skyrocket. If someone on the
Ohio State defense, if Jermaine Matthews has three interceptions, guess what.
Jermain Matthews is fifty percent of the way to the

first team All American season just by doing that in
Week one when everyone's won.

Yeah, you've got Jermay Matthews, the possibility there, sunny styles
possibility there. Don't sleep on rfl rees. Now, it's been
a while since they've got the middle linebackers the first
team All American.

of the styles to be a first team All American.
