Speaker 1 (00:11):
The Chad Benson Show. Waha wah, wah.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Wah wah. Do you think Trump hears that in his
head when he walked in the room. I said the
other day, it'll be great. Put him on a horse.
He would love that because he loves staging looks good.
Staging looks good. How do I look on a horse
doing it?

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Woha wah?

Speaker 2 (00:32):
I want the son in the back. You know, it
is the squint of the eyes. If you guys haven't heard,
DC is now taken over by the government, the federal government.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
Attorney General Pam Bondi now in charge of DC Metropolitan Police,
meeting with Mayor Muriel Bowser.

Speaker 5 (00:48):
What I'm focused on is the federal surge and how
to make the most of the additional officer support that
we have.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
The President claims crime in the city is spiraling out
of control, but the mayor points to official crime stats
violent crime down twenty six percent since last year, now
at a thirty year low.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Is it though? Is it? Yeah? Chad, yesterday we talked
about how you can take statistics and you can give
a truthful statistic, but you leave out half of the story.
So yesterday we're talking about Chris Murphy, Senator Connecticut, talking

(01:36):
about red states have you know, higher rate of murder?
And he pointed to you know, like oh, Tennessee or
you know, and you know, Missouri and stuff like that.
What he left out, though, is the place is where
murder was the Highers murder was blue cities. So yes,

(01:58):
the Red states do have a higher rate certain some
of them, not all of them of murder. But when
you broke it down and you go, okay, where is that,
and you're like, oh, wait a minute, it's in a
blue city that is dominated by Democrats, run by Democrats
and has been for years. Well that's an odd thing, right, No, No,

(02:20):
it's not. That's called telling your side of the story.
So crime stats are they down?

Speaker 6 (02:27):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Or no? Hm? There is some controversy there. Why because
the guy that's involved with writing everything up and putting
everything together, it may have I don't even want to
say he fudged the numbers, because I think that's doing
a little bit of disservice. It was how he inputed

(02:50):
things that may have given everybody this sense that crime
was down.

Speaker 7 (02:57):
In early May five, law enforcement sources familiar the investigation
tell News fur Pulliam was placed on administrative leave with
pay and told he was under investigation for questionable changes
to crime data, a move that came just about a
week after he filed an EEOC complaint against Executive Assistant
Chief of Police Andre Wright. According to three law enforcement

(03:20):
sources familiar with the complaint, the reasons for that later
in this story, news I reached out to Commander Pullium
for comment. He denied the allegations against him and referred
us to the public information officer.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
And we'll talk a little bit more about that, because
this guy suspended and there's a lot going on there.
But are the numbers down maybe somewhat about how you
classify stuff. Remember what I told you earlier, the data,
if you don't do it right, even though you kind
of do it right, I put something down. What I

(04:00):
put down was real, but they don't recognize that as
this kind of crime, so it doesn't really count, if
that makes sense.

Speaker 7 (04:09):
As for the union's allegations, Chairman Greg Pemberton laid it
all on the table.

Speaker 8 (04:15):
When our members respond to the scene of a felony
offense where there is a victim reporting that a felony occurred,
inevitably there will be a lieutenant or a captain that
will show up on that scene and direct those members
to take a report for a lesser offense. So instead
of taking a report for a shooting or a stabbing
or a carjacking, they will order that officer to take

(04:37):
a report for a theft or an injured person to
the hospital, or a felony assault, which is not the
same type of classification.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
And that's important the classification. How you classify these. So
somebody was shot, they go to the hospital, you put
felony assault, which you know is not going to show
up on the FBI's crimes statistic, even though that person
was shot and it was an assault, it was a
deadly weapon. But you've left that part out. You've got

(05:08):
a lot of the story, but you don't have the story.

Speaker 7 (05:12):
Greg Pemberton says the police department's command staff is focusing
on two categories in order to get the numbers to fall.
They are armed with a dangerous weapon, an injured person
to the hospital.

Speaker 8 (05:25):
When management officials are directing officers to take reports for
felony assault, or if they're going back into police databases
and changing offenses to felony assault. Felony assault is not
a category of crime that's listed on the department's daily
crime stats. It's also not something that's a requirement of
the FBI's uniform crime reporting program. So by changing criminal

(05:49):
offenses from for example, ADW bat or ADW gun to
felony assault, that would avoid both the MPD and the
FBI from reporting that as a part one or a
felony offense. What we've heard through our members and through
members of management that we're willing to talk with the
union is that this is a directive from the command staff,

(06:12):
is that they want to make sure that these classifications
of these reports are adjusted over time to make sure
that the overall crime stats stay down.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
There you go, simple as that. And he was asked directly,
do you think these crime stats the way that they've
had this drop precipitously.

Speaker 6 (06:29):
That's preposterous.

Speaker 8 (06:30):
There's absolutely no way crime could be down twenty eight
percent last year. They suggested that it went down thirty
four percent.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
So that's a hard no. So what's the real stats?
We don't know, because much like and this is a
perfect example of how you can take stats and data
and manipulate them. They didn't lie about an incident. They didn't,
you know, just throw it away and not write it
down or do it. What they did is they classified

(06:59):
it as something else else, and in doing so, it
didn't count. It's kind of like unemployment. If you're unemployed
and you get unemployment for fifty two weeks, can't find
a job, and then you fall off the unemployment role,
so you're not getting unemployment anymore. You just no longer count.

(07:19):
You're still unemployed, you just don't count against the data
that they're going to input. And it brings me to
this Mark Twain's famous saying there are three kind of lies.
There's lies, damned lies, and statistics. Oh yeah, again, is
crime through the roof there? I think in some areas

(07:43):
there's definitely serious issues for the most part. Do I
think it's awful? No, But I will say this. Trump
said something the other day about reliving something about what
his father said to him, and he said, if you
go to a restaurant and the door is dirty, the handle,

(08:06):
and everything's dirty, you know what I mean, you turn
in your leave before you even go in there. Because
if you think, if you can't keep this clean, what
is your kitchen like? And so you think of DC
as this is the place man people from all over
the globe. Powerful people. They're coming here are founding fathers.

(08:28):
When they built the Capitol, the White House, this was
supposed to be a place of wonder because it was modest,
but amazing, because it was about the people, It was
about the ideas. They wanted the buildings to be dignified

(08:50):
symbols of self government but also accessible. They didn't want
the monarchy vibes and you know what else, they don't
want homeless people and crime. That's not something you want.
And people recognize that. Go back to when was it

(09:14):
g that came here a few years ago? And what
happened with gavenusom had all homeless removed put somewhere. This
is an absolute symbol and right now, if you came here,
the symbol would be, oh my god, this place is

(09:36):
a hot mess. So while people freak out about this,
the left in particular, the reality is something needs to
be done and this president wants to do it. You

(09:56):
may not like the method, because a lot of people don't,
and in many cases you don't like the messenger more
than even the method. Now, if he moves this to
other cities that aren't under like what DC has that
special thing that he's allowed to take control. Well, then

(10:19):
we'll have serious conversations. But we've got to get a
handle on some of this stuff, especially the homelessness. We're
gonnat into that next hour because that is also a
massive problem. So everybody needs to take a step back
and relax before you start thinking that there's going to

(10:42):
be jack boots in the street and Ze going to
come for us or.

Speaker 9 (10:48):
No.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
But we can clean it up a little bit, because
right now it feels like some of these places kind
of our litter boxes, and you don't put the litter
box next to the kick three two, three, five, three eight,
twenty four to twenty three at Chad Benson Show, is
your ex your instant, all of the other things. A
lot of stuff to get to today, some interesting stuff.

(11:09):
We've got some stuff about Israel. We've got an amazing
thing we're doing next hour about Rush. Not the band sororities.
It's Rush week and it is crazy the cost and
the pressure to join a sorority. But first, Raycon best
earbuds around. Love my Raycon's wear them every single day.

(11:32):
Sound qualities second to none, fit and feel the best around,
no stems, no wires. These are the classics, right, So
these are the classic twenty fives is the originals, and
they've updated them to bring them up to where the
everyday earbuds are. You've got active noise cancels, you got
the fast charge, and you've got the eight hours of

(11:53):
talk time, thirty two hours of batter your life. It
is just awesome. And I can't emphasize this enough. The
fit of these is second to none. If you have
great sound quality but they hurt your ears, that sucks.
And if you have other ones that yeah, they feel
nice in my ears, but the sound quality sucks. Well

(12:14):
you don't want that either. How about this Throw the
worst of those two away and you've got the E
twenty five everyday earbuds from Raycon. Sound quality, the best, fit,
second to none, and price it won't break the bank.
Right now, I'm gonna save you twenty percent, get your

go to buy raycon dot com slash chad now to

(12:34):
save that's by raycon dot com slash chad. Buy raycon
dot com slash chad. A lot of stuff to get
to today. Talk about Israel for a little bit. We
got one hit Wonder Wednesday. You guys gotta love this song.
And like I said, next hour, interesting story that is
fascinating about sororities, the cost all of that stuff. Oh yeah,

(12:56):
we're doing it today, kids, Chad Benson.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
Joe, Chad Benson.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
It's about the jobs, man the jobs. Yesterday during the
press conference when they talk about what they're gonna do
with the homeless and Zelenski and all the other stuff,
dc BLS came up Bureau of Labor Statistics and how
are they going to do that? With the new guy
coming in from the Heritage Foundation, what are they going

(13:34):
to do with that? Because we want perfection in an
imperfect world.

Speaker 10 (13:38):
What I'll tell you about the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
I believe that is the plan and that's the hope,
and that these monthly reports will be data that the
American people can trust. As you know, the Bureau of
Labor Statistics has made massive revisions after the last several
points reports that they have put out, and there has
certainly been a decline in the quality and the relyf

(14:00):
ability of data coming from the Bureau of Labor Statistics,
and there's been an increase.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
In revisions increase in revisions. Is that true? Is it true?
First of all, to even figure out how they do this,
it's all voluntary. Okay. So there's a survey goes out
to about one hundred and twenty plus thousand businesses, right,
government agencies, et cetera, and about seven hundred thousand work sites.
Then the employers report payrolls out each month, number of employees,

(14:27):
hours worked, et cetera, et cetera. And it includes jobs
by industry, non farms, so average wages, hours, it's a
sample size, Okay. Then they do a household survey about
sixty thousand plus done by the Census Bureau, so it's
all thrown in there. Then they do a wage thing.

(14:48):
I mean, it's a lot of different things, and a
lot of it's voluntary, and so they're going to do
what potentially not have it. Well, that's ridiculous, but it's farious.
It's nefarious, Chad, it's nefarious. It's not nefarious. Trump never
had that. Trump did have that? What? Yeah, So let's

(15:08):
go back and look so as far as revisions during
Trump's time in office, because the revision's go on every
month about ninety six times. Has happened? Oh oh, then
they have the benchmarks. Those are the annual things that
Trump was talking about the other day where they they
went down it was a million jobs less, et cetera,
et cetera. So are you ready for this? Trump? February

(15:30):
twenty eighteen, So covers twenty seventeen up. They added one
hundred and thirty eight thousand jobs. February nineteen, covering twenty
eighteen up forty three thousand jobs three two, three, five,
three eight, twenty four to twenty three at Chad Benson
shows your X, your Insta, all the other things right
now in the Chad Benson Show. So far looking pretty good, right.

(15:52):
One hundred and eighty thousand jobs February twenty twenty, So
this cover twenty nineteen down, five hundred thousand jobs. February
twenty twenty one, covering twenty twenty down five hundred and
five thousand, for a total of about eight hundred and
twenty thousand jobs revised down.

Speaker 11 (16:10):
Work.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
It happens to all of them, kids. Man. We got
a lot of stuff to get to today, including Wednesday
being of course one hit wonder Wednesday, and we have
a one hit wonder from this century. OOO. But first

Speaker 12 (17:38):
Benson Show, Son, Chad Benson, Joe.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
The Chad Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
It's a big weekend of meetings for Donald Trump because
he's meeting the Pooter in Alaska. Do you think they're
gonna go fishing? I do not.

Speaker 13 (18:13):
There's a lot of anxiety in both Ukraine and Europe
about this meeting, and they fear that potentially Vladimir Pusin
is going to use it to just try and pull
President Trump towards Russia's position on the war.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
Yeah. Remember we talked to Mike Laines yesterday about this
and I asked him, what do you think is gonna happen?
You think there's a deal. He's like, no chance, there's
a deal. Nothing's coming out of this. Putin has all
the cards, and all of his cards are good, and
you don't have any cards at this moment.

Speaker 13 (18:50):
President Trump and the White House have already been downplaying
that any deal is going to come out of this summit.
We've heard from the White House saying it's essentially a
listening exercise for President Trump, and of course I think
that's going to cause a lot of concern in Europe
who're worried about what President Trump will hear and what
he will consider to be reasonable coming out of this.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
There's not a lot that Zelenski and the rest of
the world is going to be able to negotiate at
this moment in time. There isn't. He's thrown another one
hundred plus thousand men at it. His thought is, you

(19:34):
guys will either run out of bullets or your run
out of people before I do. And now I'm going
to impose my will. And that's what he's doing. Why
would he stop? Now?

Speaker 13 (19:49):
What we've heard so far from President Zelenski is warning
again and again that most likely Vladimir Pusen is coming
to this summit with no intention of giving a sea spire,
and instead of trying simply to celebrate having this meeting
with Donald Trump, to try and persuade him once again
that he's interested in peace when he isn't, and then

(20:11):
to go back afterwards to continuing this war.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
Oh, He's totally going to do that one hundred percent.
The minute the door closes on the plane to take
him back they're going to be launching everything they can,
and it's the want. He looks at this now and says, man,
originally I wanted maybe fifteen to eighteen percent of land.

(20:34):
I want more than that, and I will get it.

Speaker 13 (20:39):
What we understand at the moment is that Vladimir Pusin
has been suggesting he wants Ukraine now to hand over
the remaining unoccupied area of the Donbass Region Donetsk and Luhansk.
Ukraine still holds about a third of the Dnets region, supposedly. Pusin,
in exchange for that, says he will give up his

(21:00):
designs for now at least on two more regions, the
Hrssan and Zaparisia regions, and then he will also perhaps
hand over the tiny slivers of land that he's managed
to seize in regions in the northeast of Ukraine.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
Ukraine victory comes in every day they exist. That's Ukraine's victory.
Every day they exist, they win a little bit. But
it's getting harder. People are war weary. They see the
writing on the wall. Unless everybody steps up in ways
that we haven't before, this probably isn't going to go away.

(21:37):
They thought that it was going to go now remember,
and I remind everybody this, myself included. Had we not
all gotten involved, there's no doubt that they would have
rolled straight into Keith had we not gotten involved. But
we did, and they have fought valiant. It is a
much different world when you're fighting to stay alive for

(22:00):
your existence as is Ukraine than what the Russians have done,
which is fight for something that they're not even sure of.
I remember yes yesterday Phil text me and he said, hey,
does this mean that Putin got all of the Nazis out?
Do you remember that big thing? Oh, it's all the Nazis.

(22:22):
They got a bunch of Nazis. It was his dream
to grab as much of the old Soviet Union and
reunite it as possible. That's his dream. Is it going
to be the original Manudo with Ricky Martin? Maybe not,
But it doesn't mean we can't get back most of
the gang. Okay, you sent me a noodle? I did?

(22:45):
I did. This is important for Trump because yeah, I'm
not gonna lie. I know Trump wants to Nobel Peace
Prize for all the stuff he's done to work for
peace because he likes peace. I get it. And unfortunately,
because it's also very political. Even if he brings this
to an end, I don't think they'd give it to him.

Speaker 9 (23:09):
He is so desperate for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
It's as simple as that.

Speaker 6 (23:13):
You think it's more, there's.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
More than that.

Speaker 9 (23:14):
I think he wants to show his toughness. I think
he wants to perhaps show that he can stand up
to Putin.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
We don't know.

Speaker 9 (23:21):
You know, he did not do well in Helsinki in
the first term. That was one of the great shocks
of his first term when he said he agreed with
Putin over his own intelligence agencies about Russian interference in
the twenty twenty election, but twenty sixteen election.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
But we shall see.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
I good God MSNBC. But he does want the Nobel
Peace Prize, but it is political, and the reality is
because of the politics of it all. Do I think
he would get it? No, I don't think you would.
It would take that in something else. That's something else,
maybe Israel. And we're going to get into a little
bit deeper later. But this is sister Stephanoppe. Yes, George

(24:02):
Stephanopolis's sister. She lives over in Palestine. Because the vast
majority of the things that the Christians revere when it
comes to, you know, going back to all the religions,
Christianity has taken place on that side of the green
line green zone area in Palestine. She's in the West Bank,

(24:23):
but she was asked about and she was all with Tucker,
and she was asked, essentially, what do you think these
guys over here want to do with the Palestinians? What
they are they going to do with them?

Speaker 6 (24:32):
What happens to the two million people who live in Gaza.

Speaker 11 (24:35):
Well, I can't say that I'm a Trump fan, but
I you know, he's a wheeler dealer. He wants to
get that Nobel Peace Prize. He's got people with a
lot of money in Saudi Arabia and Cartharr that have
his ear. We don't have to build a riviera, build
it for the Palestinians. They go and rebuild the area
and let it be and reconstruct for a Palestinian nation.
Why is that such an outrageous idea? Why why does

(24:59):
Israe think that the people of Palestine have to be
their enemy? They say, go to Jordan and go to Egypt.
What's the difference another twenty kilometers in That's really what
we're talking about the difference between Aman and Tel Aviv
is twenty miles at the most to drive between the two.
So what are the difference between the people that live
in Palestine, that live in Jericho, in Bethlehem, and someone
who lives in Aman, And what's the difference between someone

(25:21):
who lives in Gaza. So give them a defined border
and have the people of other countries, the Arabs too,
should support the rebuilding of Gaza and have Israel remove
their military from there and give and let Gaza have
their freedom.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
I have a zero problem with this. And like I said,
we're going to get into a little bit later. Several
emails and text messages from people, and some of them,
you know, challenging my position, others outright saying horrific things,
as people tend to do, and some people saying, you

(25:55):
know what, I never really thought of it like this.
But that's an interest thing both sides. And this is
the thing. This is not about the Israeli people. This
is not about Israel and it's right to exist or
not exist. It exists, it has a right to exist.

(26:16):
They have a right to defend themselves. You're past that
point now, and what you're trying to do amounts, for
a lack of a better term, genocide. But that's kind
of a political thing and the definition is but that's
what you're trying to do, you know, displacements, whatever you
want to call ethnic cleansing. I call it ethnic moving

(26:37):
the other day. So we need to have real conversations
about this. But yeah, she pointed out, he does want
that Nobel Peace Prize because he likes peace and he
is a wheel earn dealer. I think we know that.
Three two, three, five, three, eight, twenty four to twenty
three atch had Benson shows your extur instant coming up
straight at one of our favorite segments of the week,
one hit Wonder Wednesday before that, birch gold. There's gold

(26:58):
in them there hills? Why gold? Because gold is amazing.
Let me tell you something about gold in a time
like this, with the uncertainties as we just talked about,
global gold's an important piece to have when it comes
to diversifying what you've worked so hard for. You see
major banks and in institutional investors flock to gold. You've

(27:19):
got a weakening dollar, you've got the situation that is
going on with our economy on whether or not you
know the inflation. What's going to happen here, They're going
to raise rates lower is nobody knows gold is smart.
This is what I want you to do, though, you
got to learn. Part of that is getting that information.
That's where Birch comes in A plus rated by the
Better Business Bureau. They want to talk to you, but

(27:39):
they want to get you the information. They want to
show you what they're all about and how they can
help you. Whether you want to own the physical gold
or maybe have an IRA or four to one K
and you want to move it over to attack sheltered
IRA with gold. They can do that for you, but
you got to get the info. First. Text to word
Benson to ninety eight ninety eight ninety eight today to
get that folk it When you're armed with the information,

(28:02):
you make the best decision. Text the word Benson to
ninety eight, ninety eight ninety eight Now for our friends
at Birch Gold, one hit Wonder Wednesday straight at Chad
Benson Show.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
If you like talk radio like Chad Benson likes his meals,
you've come to the perfect place for takeout.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
It is one of our favorite times of the week.
I love doing this and we get so much fun
out of it, but we get a ton of response
from the listeners out there. And yesterday I was actually
golfing and the people I was golfing with, one of
them i'd never met before, and he said to me,
I listened to you, And I said, oh, well, thanks,

(28:49):
I appreciate that. He goes, I love the One Hit
Wonder Wednesday. And I go, you do, and he goes, yeah, absolutely,
it's great. He goes politics all day can be just
because I don't know how people do it. So I
don't know how they do it either, but I love
doing it as well. So every single Wednesday, if you're
new to the show, God bless you. Thanks for giving
us an opportunity. One Hit Wonder Wednesday is where we

(29:12):
dive deep into a song that was it for a
moment and a time. Sometimes it's a singer songwriter who
has something. Sometimes it's a band they catch that lightning
in the bottle, that moment in time where they grab
everybody and they turn that magic into a hit. It's

(29:33):
One Hit Wonder Wednesday. Now it's time for another edition
of One Hit Wonder Wednesday. You may not remember the
name of the band, but you definitely know the song

(30:03):
from this bruiser. This is one Hit Wonder Wednesday, so
one Hit Wonder Wednesday. Oddly enough, last week Tarzana Boy
Baltimore was in the opening this week also one Hit
Wonder that's in the opening of this segment comes from

(30:25):
the Year of the Lord two thousand by a band
that was formed in nineteen ninety five by Brett Epic
Mauser and Seth Shifty shell Shock Binzer. They caught the
wave of that rap rock, new metal, you know, Olymbiscuit

(30:48):
Lincoln Park kid rock, and they took it and they
ran with it. They had one hit came off their
debut album called The Gift of the Game. It was
released in the year two thousand October, and it went
from zero to one hundred fast number one across fifteen
countries chart domination, to say the least, it was crazy.

(31:13):
In fact, the music video super psychedelic pretty girls, you know,
dudes with their shirts off, all tatted up, very much
a as they say in early vibes in the MTV world.
And it was interestingly enough though, because they were much harder,
they didn't play it on stage a lot, so they

(31:35):
got this massive audience because of this. But then we
come to the shows and they didn't want to really
play this song. And this song, well, it's massive and
it only takes two seconds once you hear it and
you realize, oh, I know what it is. Ladies and gentlemen,
boys and girls, friends of all ages. The one hit
Wonder Wednesday Song of the Week from the band Crazy Town.

(32:04):
You're My butterfly, sugar Baby.

Speaker 14 (32:16):
Come Malayday, Come come Malady.

Speaker 15 (32:18):
You're my butterfly, sugar.

Speaker 16 (32:21):
Come mo lay Day, Come come malayd You're my Butterfly's
a sexy, sexy, pretty little thing because she got me
stroke woul your tone ring and I ain't gonna lie
because your loving gets me eyes so they can give
my my side.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
There's nothing that I won't try.

Speaker 6 (32:35):
Butterflies in her eyes and her lips to kill Thomas Passing.

Speaker 17 (32:38):
I'm asking could this be real?

Speaker 6 (32:39):
Because I can't sleep, I can't holdst it.

Speaker 2 (32:41):
The only thing I really know where she got sexy video?
I can feel too much is never enough? You always
had A little song was massive, The album was huge.
They never even came close to recapturing the magic ever again.
Shifty shell Shock wrote the song about his girlfriend at the.

Speaker 6 (33:02):
Time, so I wrote the song basically, and I remember
I called it epic.

Speaker 14 (33:06):
I was like, yo, epic, I'm going to do a
song about my girl. And he's like, are you kidding me?
I was like, no, damn, we're gonna do that.

Speaker 6 (33:13):
Basically.

Speaker 14 (33:14):
You know, we had this little thing where I would
like give her butterflies all the time. So I remember
I was saying, I was like, I'm thinking of what
I was going to name the song, and I was
like butterfly, and you know it, it was a very
natural thing that That's why like the magic happened is
it was just like I wasn't trying to write a hit.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
I just wrote.

Speaker 6 (33:36):
It was like a little piece of poetry I wrote
to my.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
Girl, Yo, my butterfly sugar. One of the things you
hear that guitar kind of that is actually something from
the peppers of the Red hotness.

Speaker 6 (33:52):
It needs to sound like under the Bridge, and so
Brett Who's like, you know, that's the other thing. As
I hear mothers like, oh they have a hit and
they sampled the red Hot chili peppers, and it's like.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
That's what hit is.

Speaker 14 (34:08):
Now, there's a creative sample, and there's a sample that's
kind of like it sounds totally if we get sampled
under the bridge.

Speaker 6 (34:16):
It's like, bro, you took a hit song to make
your hit song.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
Which did.

Speaker 6 (34:21):
What we did is we listened to the album and.

Speaker 14 (34:23):
We found some obscure little thing called pretty Little Ditty,
which you don't know that Red Chili Peppers or listen
to like Mother's MOCHI would have never heard it.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
No, you wouldn't have. And it's really interesting when you hear,
uh what they did because pretty little Ditty is really
a nothing, and of course you go from that is

(34:59):
the Peppers version right there, and they took it. They
sped it up a little bit, put litter on, twist
on it, but a massive hit. It was all over
the globe. Your one hit wonder this week the band
crazy Town the song Butterfly three, two, three, five, three eight,

(35:22):
twenty four to twenty three at Chadmentton Show. Is your
ex your insta, YouTube, Facebook, and a quick reminder we
will be live tonight right around seven o'clock Eastern. You
have a chance to join the program. We appreciate that.
Right here on the Chad Beentton Show. Coming up, hour
number two of the program. More on DC and the

(35:44):
Crime talk a little bit about that. We got some
stuff with Russia as well, a bunch of other stuff
to get to and something I just find completely fascinating,
And you might go, what are you talking about? Sorority
rush week. All the colleges are back in. It is
huge all over the TikTok and everywhere else. But the
fascinating thing is the cost. I am fascinated about the

(36:06):
cost that these women spend to join these things. It's insane.
We talk about that. A lot of other stuff you
could do, including This Day in History, Pious City Show,
Shame on You grab the podcast hour number two, The
chat Ventson Show, Straight Ahead on the Chadventson Show.

Speaker 1 (36:23):
This is the Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
We're gonna get into a lot of stuff this hour,
so be prepared. But I want to remind you guys,
nobody can find the Democrats except for the fact that
they're on TV all the time and talk about the
Texas Democrats because of the you know, they don't want
a quorum.

Speaker 18 (37:07):
After gabling Tuesday session to order, Texas House Speaker Dustin
Burroughs announced a quorum is not present more than fifty
Democrats were out of state, blocking a House vote on
a district map that could yield five more Republicans in Congress.
But Burroughs has spoken with Governor Greg Abbott.

Speaker 2 (37:22):
He has committed to calling us back again and again
and again until our work is done.

Speaker 18 (37:27):
Sources tell ABC News the absent Democrats will come back
to Texas satisfied that they have at least temporarily stalled
the Trump Factory districting effort.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
You delayed, you didn't stop. That's it. You delayed, you
didn't stop. I'm not a fan of it. I will
tell you that right now. It's not illegal. They're not
doing something. It may be a little uncouth, but it's
not illegal. I'm not a fan of it. And I
continue to tell everybody the courts will of the final
say in whatever happens with these districts, as they always do.

(38:02):
So did anything happen, No, you're gonna be Oh. Look,
they're fighting back. It's the frustration level of this crap
is is so up here. The fighting back feels like
it's more about them and their position and their seats
than it is about the people and getting the message

(38:23):
out there. Because you're talking not to your constituents. You're
talking to the nation and your online followers and those
that that's the frustration. We should all be pissed. And
I don't want to see a tit for tatt and
I feel like we're gonna get that going forward when
it comes to this. Meanwhile, staying in Texas, Uvaldi videos

(38:46):
coming out. More and more stuff's coming out about the
massive failure on that day at Rob Elementary.

Speaker 19 (38:57):
Sure do video capturing crucial moments inside Uvaldi's Rob Elementary
School after a gunman opened fire on May twenty fourth,
twenty twenty two. The district releasing hours of never before
seen footage showing a response caught IMiD confusion and chaos

(39:18):
at eleven forty am just minutes after the shooter ended
the school. You can see officers treating his grandmother, the
first victim, who I did her own grandson as the gunman.

Speaker 2 (39:29):
He just shot his grandmother.

Speaker 19 (39:31):
Outside Rob Elementary as precious time passed, Panicked parents heard
off camera shouting at authorities to do something.

Speaker 2 (39:45):
I will say watching some of this, first of all,
it is absolutely having children. You guys, You guys get
better seeing this stuff. It kicks you in the grondle
second thing when you take the let's see what the
issue is rather than dealing with the motion, and it's

(40:07):
hard to do. You got to separate, get a compartmentalize that.
The failure of these people is so on display it
is an absolute embarrassment. I don't even know. They should
be tarred and feathered. It is Pete Aradondo who is.

Speaker 20 (40:39):
He is?

Speaker 2 (40:40):
Aredondo should go down as Quizzling is to Norway. If
you don't know who Quizzling is, here's a little history
for you. Quizzling when the Nazis came in, he was
put in as he basically kissed Nazis ass he was.
He helped them. It was a collaboration and quizzling. If
you're called the quizzling or you quizzlinged it in Norway,

(41:04):
that's that's it's become synonymous. It's a meme right essentially
back in the day, and Aredondo should be that. Don't
be a Pete Rodondo, don't be an art That guy
is trying to negotiate with a guy who's killed a
bunch of people and is loaded for bear. How you
going to wall pull the gun? Barney Fife would have

(41:25):
done a better job.

Speaker 19 (41:26):
Oh Andy By twelve pm, with dozens of armed officers
lighting hallways, the school's police chief, Pete Rodondo, began pleading
with the gunman barricaded inside a classroom. Me, no response
is ever heard. I need cover more cues nearby, other

(41:49):
officers tried to clear classrooms of terrified students and teachers.
At twelve o eight pm, the gunman's own aunt, herd
beg authorities to shoot him, kill up, hell.

Speaker 2 (42:11):
Kill him, kill him. That's what you're saying. Kill him,
kill him, kill him? What are you doing you? Oh,
come on out, guys, don't do this. Are you blank
and kidding me?

Speaker 19 (42:24):
Nearly an hour after that first gunshot, authority shout questions
back and forth, looking for keys. They'd later find their
door unlocked. Painful minutes follow until twelve to fifty pm,
when a team of officers breached the classroom.

Speaker 2 (42:50):
With a gunman dead.

Speaker 19 (42:52):
Authorities frantically call for medical backup, the frightening scene unfolding,
and then one of the deadliest school shootings in US history.

Speaker 2 (43:08):
Yeah, it was awful. And on the heels of that,
you had the school shooting here in Nashville, and they
wasted no time. There was no let's go negotiate. There
was no well we'll see, it was go go go.

(43:30):
They were like, we can't fight the keys. And you
hear the parents at the beginning of that saying I'm
going in, I'm going in. It was so bad that
you should be able to take that day for law

(43:53):
enforcement and have all law enforcement watch that to this
is what you don't do? This right here? Embarrassing, Oh mine.
We moved from one crime that was awful to a

(44:16):
whole bunch of crime that has taking place in the
nation's capital. Coming up next hour, Ashley Brassfield's going to
join the program. She's with The Daily Caller and she
gave us a low down on what's going on there,
what it's like to be there. You know, what does
she see because she has followed Trump through the campaign
and everything, so that'll be interesting. But yeah, Military.

Speaker 21 (44:39):
Whitehouse officials say the troops are in position to assist
local law enforcement and say clearing out homeless encampments is
a top priority. The Army says guardsmen will not carry weapons,
but we'll have access to them.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
The homeless thing is interesting and I'm going to ask
her about it. You guys know my take on it.
We're not talking about the rich person that is down
on their luck, that's missed a few paychecks and got
behind and it's going to go sleep in their car,
stay in a shelter, but has their faculties. We're talking
about chronically homeless because they're mentally ill or they're addicted

(45:15):
to drugs, and chances are it's both. What came first,
chicken or the egg? Did the drugs turn you your
brain into a scrambled egg? Or were you having lots
of issues and you turned to the drugs which only
exacerbated that situation. But you've got to do something about this.

Speaker 22 (45:34):
You have to.

Speaker 2 (45:35):
Now, is it over done and overcooked one? How bad
it is there?

Speaker 19 (45:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (45:43):
Probably because that's what happens. But is it also where
blue cities tend to go E, No big deal, it's
no big deal. No, it's a big deal. This is
our capital. Just like putting a litter box at Thanksgiving

(46:07):
dinner on the table. We don't want it that and
it's not fair to the cat that it's got to
get up there, and it's not fair to the people eating.
So what's he going to do with the homeless? That's
a good question.

Speaker 23 (46:20):
The president is vound to clear out DC's homeless encampments
and to quote try to take care of those who've
been living on the street. Pressed for details, White House
Press Secretary Caroline Levitt said officials will begin enforcing laws
that have long been on the books. Those intents are
on sidewalks will be offered options to.

Speaker 10 (46:37):
Be taken to a homeless shelter, to be offered addiction
or mental health services, and if they refuse, they will
be susceptible to fines or to jail time.

Speaker 2 (46:46):
Well, I have news for you, darlin. I have news
for you, Darlin. The mentally ill and the drug addicted
probably aren't rolling deep with cash and probably don't quite
get what you're talking about out and jail time would
be the first time in a long time they probably
haven't had their hands on some drugs. So just putting

(47:10):
that out there, You're gonna see this more and more
with the homeless though, as the World Cup comes here
next year, I guarantee you the massive amounts of areas
in big cities where homeless are are going to be moved. Olympics.
The same thing, just like when the Chinese premiere Cheese
Having came to California, and Gavin Newsom's like, shove them,

(47:34):
you know, kick it. So it's like shoes, just kick
them underneath the bed, kick the mess underneath the bed,
so nobody gets that's kind of what they're gonna do
if they can't figure this out. And there needs to
be a fix and it needs to be dignified, but
we also need to be honest. Handing people keys to
a house ain't going to fix this problem, never has,
never will. And throwing more money at it. We've thrown

(47:56):
enough at it. How about this we throw responsibility to
the people who have been funded to do their jobs.
Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four to twenty
three at Chad Benson Show, It's Your ex Your Insta.
A lot of cool stuff talk about this hour, including

(48:18):
this day in history, but something that has fascinated me
did last year and this year. I am just watching
it because I'm fascinated by the culture and by the
cost Rush Week sororities. We'll talk about that coming up
a little bit. Roughgreensruff greens dot com, slash chat, vitamins, minerals, probiotics,

(48:40):

Watch what happens Roughgreens dot com slash Chad Chad Benson.

Speaker 1 (49:38):
Shoe Chad Benson crazy.

Speaker 2 (49:51):
He's everywhere. We know that, and this is a perfect
example of somebody who's completely unhinged. It's caught up in
the wackiness of probably reading Mother Jones and only going
to left leaning sites. I want you to listen to.
This guy's pissed about ICE. And I'm not talking about

(50:13):
the ice in you cup, all right, a different kind
of ice, talking about Yes, the law enforcement folks. He's
coming for you guys, so be ready.

Speaker 24 (50:21):
This message is for all the ICE agents out there today.
When Donald Trump's reign of terror is over, we will
be rounding you all up.

Speaker 6 (50:29):
And putting you in jail. We're going to raid and
destroy your homes.

Speaker 24 (50:33):
We're going to handcuff you and take you away in
front of your families for breaking the constitution of the
United States of America. That's why we hold cameras to
your face, but that we can have facial recognition for
when Donald Trump's out of office, because the tables are
gonna turn on you need personally. I'll fight an ICE agent.
There's nothing illegal of that. They are hiding their faces.

(50:55):
They could be criminals. I'll take my chances in corps.

Speaker 6 (51:00):
Out have a nice set.

Speaker 2 (51:04):
What are you talking about. First of all, I've seen you,
and you don't want that fight. You don't want that fight.
You're not going to win. Secondly, fighting a law enforcement
agency of any kind because you feel that, hey, you
know what, I should be able to do this. That's insane.
What are you doing? People are unhinged. They are they

(51:29):
are absolutely unwell. You know, we're talking the last couple
of days. The shooter that you know the CDC last week,
he thought the vaccines did something to him and he
went and did this. And then you had the guy
in Austin at the target and he was unhinged as well.

(51:53):
You had the Montana guy that they just arrested. That
guy his friends said his nuts, said he didn't know
who he was some days, and he didn't know where
he was some days. Chris Rock said it best, whatever
happened to crazy? But this people get so caught up

(52:15):
in this lunacy of something and then they start going
down these rabbit holes. Three two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four, twenty three at Chad Benson Show, is your
ax your insta? Let me know what you think. Right
here in the Chad Benson Show. What used to be
something where you figure you'd have to go to library
and then from there you'd have to do all the

(52:37):
research and you'd have to go and the microfilm to
look back, and you don't have to do that out
the internet has it all there for you and you
can go down a rabbit hole that would have took
a you months in hours. And speaking of the Austin
shooting the other day, the guy was known to everybody,

(52:57):
had a lot of issues.

Speaker 25 (52:58):
And Ninnaker has a history with the Austin Police Department
which includes assault, causing bodily injury to a family member,
driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, violation of a protective order,
and two mental health.

Speaker 2 (53:15):
Reports mental health reports. Wonder why that is? So they
caught him? What it was he naked in somebody's backyard
and who did he claim to be?

Speaker 22 (53:24):
He said that he was Jesus and there was really
no reason whatsoever given it was a completely random choosing.

Speaker 6 (53:30):
Of the victims.

Speaker 2 (53:32):
Because that's so loly what Jesus did? Whatever happened to crazy?
The issue is crazy has access to too much stuff.
And I'm not just talking about drugs. I'm talking about
things like firearms and a horrible random situation of how
this guy picked his victims. But you can tell it

(53:55):
doesn't go all the way to the top. It doesn't.
This isn't a plea kind of deal that he thinks
if I make everybody think I'm crazy, I'll get this. No,
it is this guy's whatever happened to Crazy? Three two
three twenty three at Chad Benton Shows your actual insany
missing me show, shame on you. Grab the podcast Chad.

Speaker 1 (54:17):
Benton Show, Son, Chad Benson, Joe, The Chad Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (54:44):
You know. Yesterday I was talking to the guys at
work and one of the gals at work, and I said,
I'm obsessed right now on the interwebs with rush week
for sororities because it's insane. And the one of the
ladies I work with, Rachel, she was in a sorority.

(55:04):
She's about I think she's in her late twenties. She
looked at me and she goes, that is so awesome.
And I said, why she goes the fact that you
recognize I said, no, I get it. I may be older,
but I'm semi hip. I'm online, I'm doing stuff all
the time. And I said, my obsession is the insanity
of which these people are willing to go through. This

(55:25):
is the new world of influencer meets beauty queen and
if you don't think it's a big deal, millions upon
millions upon millions of views. There are sorority girls who
are making seven figures because of their sororitiness. That's crazy.

(55:47):
In fact, you know what they're turning it into a show,
no they are.

Speaker 26 (55:53):
Is the process whereties recruit new meeders.

Speaker 2 (55:56):
I have had house back to back.

Speaker 6 (55:59):
I'm just like A when he met.

Speaker 26 (56:01):
We're talking multiple outfit interviews, open.

Speaker 1 (56:04):
Houses, preser rush is a whole process.

Speaker 2 (56:08):
I'm exhausted. Sorority Rush just kicked off this week.

Speaker 27 (56:11):
Thousands of college kids across the country are filled with
a world of stress hoping to get picked by their
favorite sorority house.

Speaker 1 (56:19):
It's a big deal.

Speaker 27 (56:20):
They're being interviewed over multiple days by upperclassmen.

Speaker 2 (56:23):
It is stressful, it is intimidating.

Speaker 27 (56:25):
Again, it's exhausting, especially in southern schools like the University
of Alabama. It has become such a big deal thanks
to social media that there is now a new show
which is pulling back the curtain and what it takes
to get ready for rush.

Speaker 2 (56:38):
We now Alabama being the big thing. The cost as
well was the thing that fascinated me because it is
not cheap. It's like joining a golf club. It costs.
And remember you're in college, you're eighteen, nineteen, twenty years old.

(57:00):
It is wealth, it is it is the thing now, Yes,
in fairness, I watch them all, including there was some
ones little bigger girls, the Omega moose. That's we get it, okay,
so settle down with that. They have coaches to get
you ready, coaches to get you ready to do rush.

Speaker 4 (57:22):
Rush is a phenomenon.

Speaker 1 (57:23):
It's an enigma.

Speaker 26 (57:24):
It's intoxicating.

Speaker 27 (57:26):
There is social media sensation videos on social media.

Speaker 6 (57:29):
It got millions of views last year. They're even more
popular this year.

Speaker 2 (57:32):
Some people are calling it the NFL draft for women.

Speaker 6 (57:37):
You need to know how to play the game.

Speaker 1 (57:38):
We have all these flashcards of each eighteen sororities.

Speaker 2 (57:42):
The black is just giving grieving widows flower.

Speaker 26 (57:46):
And bring you. You can't so you've got to pay
to play on Ferrity Road.

Speaker 1 (57:50):
There's only a limited about of spots.

Speaker 26 (57:52):
I'm literally pacing the bathroom because I'm so nervous.

Speaker 10 (57:56):
If you did not receive an invitation back from any of.

Speaker 24 (57:59):
The chairs, I did not perceive a bit.

Speaker 11 (58:05):
Rush Week is so hard.

Speaker 2 (58:09):
Yeah, it is, and in fact, right now there's controversy.
So the other the young kids that I work with
and a young some of them are in their early twenties,
are still interns. But then my friend Rachel well, I
was talking about this yesterday. I think her name is
Kylin Darnell. She's like the most famous of the BAMA people,

(58:31):
and she is being sued. There's all this controversy, just
a million followers on Instagram, not mentioning TikTok and everything else.
She's getting six figure deals. That's one of the things
is apparently your mom did a deal and there's pleasure.
There's all kinds of stuff going on, but this stuff
is insane. And one of the other things when I
was talking about it resonated with several of the people

(58:53):
that I was talking to is because people my age,
they've got kids that are doing this now. Now my
kids nowhere near that. He early turned seven later on
this month. And now my my Lily who is my stepdaughter,
Her and Jack your best friends. She would be prime
for this. But the cost, the stress, it is nuts

(59:16):
and watching them go through this hole. But it's life too.

Speaker 27 (59:20):
Look, if you have college kids, this is a big issue.

Speaker 2 (59:23):
Is rushing a.

Speaker 6 (59:24):
Sorority for everyone?

Speaker 2 (59:25):
What happens if you don't get into one?

Speaker 27 (59:26):
Well, I want to bring in three people from this
new show, A Sorority Mom's Guide to Rush. Bill Averson
and Brandis Bradley are Rush coaches who work with families
to help their daughters get ready for Rush. And Morgan
Caden Head, a senior at University of Alabama who went
through Rush twice didn't receive a bid either time.

Speaker 6 (59:43):
Thank you both so much for coming on.

Speaker 19 (59:45):
Bill.

Speaker 6 (59:45):
I'll start with you.

Speaker 2 (59:46):
You're a lawyer.

Speaker 27 (59:46):
You said that it's like prepping a witness for trial.

Speaker 1 (59:50):
That's the preparation needed here. It's life.

Speaker 2 (59:53):
It's everything you do.

Speaker 6 (59:55):
You know you're a lawyer.

Speaker 26 (59:57):
You went to law school and.

Speaker 2 (59:59):
I don't remember this. I don't remember doing this. Well,
you kind of do, because if you.

Speaker 22 (01:00:04):
Went to the courtroom, you had to know how to dress,
you know how to address the court. You had to
talk to the jury, you had to talk to the judge.
And let's be honest, the person that did it the
smoothest got the initial upper hand. And so it's kind
of like rules for life in a way that we
kind of bring it up to where these girls feel
comfortable as they start the whole process, and it.

Speaker 2 (01:00:23):
Is a process. And one of the other things they
do fitcheck. I'm going to do a fit check for
you guys later on today. I'll put all over social media.
That's where they stand in front of their camera and
they'll be like five of them. They get up there
and they're like my bracelets from Cardier, my outfits from
such and such. And the big thing is golden Goose shoes,
which I was talking to my kids.

Speaker 18 (01:00:44):
I did.

Speaker 2 (01:00:45):
There's six hundred bucks a pop. They're tennis shoes. They're
not even Hokahs. There's six hundies. But you have to
have the right look, you have to have the present
social media. You're getting a coach to figure out this
is not animal house, and I think it's beneficial.

Speaker 19 (01:01:01):
You know.

Speaker 22 (01:01:01):
I know we're going to be talking to Morgan. But
I worked with Morgan her second year, not her first year.
Really wish I would worked with on the first year
because she's amazing. We became buddies. I really did love her,
and well the whole country does. But the process is honestly,
she went in I would think the most innocence she
could go in like I'm just here to talk to people.

Speaker 2 (01:01:23):
Wait a minute, I'm fish on land.

Speaker 22 (01:01:26):
And that's the problem, and a lot of parents don't
want their children to get to the point.

Speaker 2 (01:01:33):
If you've never seen brother, just type in Rush week
on any of your social media, and what you're going
to get first and foremost is smoking hot beautiful women.
Usually in anything from you know, they're all dressed up
like they just got out of the shower and they're
in their little nineties, or they're in some sort of

(01:01:54):
you know, depending on where they are us watching the
one from ASU the other day, they're all in cut
off jean shorts and caboy boots and they're doing these
massive dances. It's crazy, it is, but the fact that
they have coaches is insane. It's crazy.

Speaker 20 (01:02:09):
I feel like initially, as Bill said he was with
me my second Rush, I feel like I made a
terrible first impression.

Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
The first year.

Speaker 26 (01:02:18):
I really went in full all.

Speaker 17 (01:02:21):
Gas, no breaks.

Speaker 20 (01:02:22):
I was like a fish out of water, as she said,
and I wasn't prepared.

Speaker 17 (01:02:26):
In any way.

Speaker 20 (01:02:27):
So I made a horrible first impression both through social media,
and I really just don't think I recovered from it.

Speaker 17 (01:02:34):
For the second rush.

Speaker 6 (01:02:35):
How bad is that rejection? Morgan?

Speaker 27 (01:02:37):
And by the way, you've come out and said that
it's basically not the end of the world in the
long run.

Speaker 2 (01:02:42):
It's not the end of the world in the long run.

Speaker 20 (01:02:43):
It takes a certain kind of person to be a
sorority girl, and at the end of the day, I'm
not one hundred percent sure I am that kind of person,
but it takes a lot to It took a lot
to come back a second time because I wanted it
more the second time than I did the first and
the rejection the second time was definitely a lot worse
than I ever thought it would be, and it took
me a while to kind of get back on my feet,

(01:03:04):
but I found my feet and I'm really happy with
where I'm at now.

Speaker 2 (01:03:08):
Social media plays a huge role in this. You got
a big following, you're going to do well, but they
interview them, they put them through all it is nutty.
Now let's get to the cost, because this is very interesting.
This lady here, who is I guess making herself kind
of the unofficial guide of cost of rushing getting into

(01:03:31):
and this is after you've made it, because there's a
big cost pre and this is after you make it.

Speaker 28 (01:03:38):
In honor of Alabama Rush twenty twenty five, let's talk
about how much money it costs to join a sorority
at the University of Alabama, because I feel like a
lot of people are going to be shocked by this. Also,
I have named myself the official reporter of all things
Alabama Rush, so make sure to stay tuned for more.

(01:03:59):
I feel like a lot of people may not know this,
but yes, it does cost money to join a sorority.
I was in a sorority at a pretty small school
in the Northeast, and our fees were about four hundred
and fifty dollars a semester, which is relatively low in
comparison to other schools, other schools like the University of Alabama.

(01:04:21):
Now here's how much it costs to be in a
sorority at the University of Alabama. According to their website,
if you decide not to live in the sorority house,
it costs four one hundred dollars two five thousand and
forty eight dollars a semester to be in a sorority. However,
if you decide to live in the sorority house, it's
eight thousand, four hundred dollars to nine thousand, nine hundred

(01:04:42):
and ninety six dollars.

Speaker 2 (01:04:43):
A semester twenty grand a year if you're living there,
which when you think about you know you got a
place to stay in all that stuff, it's not bad,
but my goodness me, it ain't for the cheap. I'll
tell you that right now. Oh merk three two, three, five,

Fronting with Scissors sounds great compared to this say.

Speaker 2 (01:06:56):
A lot of you are texting it and tweeting about
rush talk. It's fascinating, isn't it. It totally is fascinating.
You know what else is fascinating things that take place
now that we'll be in history, and stuff that has
happened in the past, and we look back and go,
did we live through some history? Of course we did.
Today's date is the thirteenth of August. This is the

(01:07:18):
year of the Lord twenty twenty five. But before that,
there were other days that were August thirteenth. I wonder
what happened, what's upon in time?

Speaker 1 (01:07:27):
A long time ago.

Speaker 2 (01:07:29):
Now it's time for this day in history. We look
back on this set to find out what famous things
took place? All right, this day in history? Where should
we start? She'll go to the way back. How they
know this, I'm kind of, you know, not sure. But

(01:07:51):
according to this day in history fifteen twenty one the
fall of the Aztec Empire, Spanish Conquisador Cortes captured essentially
modern day Mexico City, ending the Aztecs Empire and the
battle that they had fought with Cortes for over a month,

(01:08:13):
and essentially that was it. It was over. M eighteen
eighty nine, first coin operated telephone was installed no way way.
On this day in nineteen sixty one, the Berlin Wall
was starting to be constructed. M H East Germany closed
the border between East and West Berlin, beginning the construction

(01:08:35):
of Zebelino. On the Day in History nineteen sixty nine,
the Apollo eleven astronauts were honored Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin,
Michael Collins. It received a ticker tape parade in New
York City after the moon landing. And also on this
stay in history and this is crazy, we both getting

(01:08:56):
old and at the same time going, oh yeah, I
remember that. On this day in History. In nineteen ninety seven,
a little known cartoon debuted on Comedy Central.

Speaker 17 (01:09:16):
I'm going down South.

Speaker 2 (01:09:17):
I'm going to hand myself down, going down South, I'm
going to leave my old bad.

Speaker 17 (01:09:30):
No, I'm south.

Speaker 2 (01:09:31):
I'm going to see if I can't do what.

Speaker 6 (01:09:36):
Come on down South, friends, man.

Speaker 2 (01:09:39):
That's right. On the Day in History nineteen ninety seven,
they debuted interesting thing about the I got some interesting
stories about that that right there, the South Park song
that was not the original song the way it was
supposed to be done. The original is actually rather creepy.
Should we listen to a bit of.

Speaker 17 (01:09:58):
It gold out South, have myself time, Go out.

Speaker 6 (01:10:13):
South, go leave my.

Speaker 1 (01:10:20):
Keg.

Speaker 17 (01:10:23):
He had called out South box.

Speaker 2 (01:10:25):
Yeah, that's creepy the pilot episode and and it was interesting.
So originally when they did a very crude version of it,
by crude, I mean not crude and rude. They do
that anyways, but this is kind of very cheesy version.
It was Jesus versus Frosty. Somebody at Fox thought it

(01:10:48):
was kind of interesting and so they said, do something else.
So then then did Jesus Versus Santa Claus. I was
working at Kars one on one in Los Angeles at
the time, working with the great Robert W. Morgan and
producing the morning show and doing a bunch of stuff
at k Earth, and Brandon, who still works there, says, dude,
you got to come see this.

Speaker 1 (01:11:07):
And I was, what is it?

Speaker 2 (01:11:07):
I guess because it was VHS back then, says Tapea's delivered.
We didn't know what the hell it is. We put
it on. We can't stop laughing at it. I go
in there. It's the original Santa Claus versus Jesus battle
that took place, and very crude, and I mean not
just crude, but crude like when you look at the animation,
it was hilarious. But the original pilot that debuted on

(01:11:33):
this day was pilot that had the anal probing of Cartman.

Speaker 1 (01:11:39):
Oh hey, Cartman, Wow, Cartman. The visitors dropped you off
just in time to go to school.

Speaker 2 (01:11:45):
Star that so wick.

Speaker 1 (01:11:47):
What a grand adventure this has been.

Speaker 2 (01:11:49):
God bless us.

Speaker 1 (01:11:50):
Everyone see it and laugh again.

Speaker 6 (01:11:52):
I'm gonna kick that kid's eye.

Speaker 2 (01:11:57):
These are some of the things that happened on this
day in history. All is thirteenth, three, two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four, twenty three at Chad Benson Show, Is Your
ex your Insta, YouTube, Facebook, and more. If you have
a chance, make sure you've had that podcast as well.
Ready on the Chad Benson Show, coming up, more on

(01:12:22):
what's going on as they get ready for the big, big, giant,
huge meeting between Ladimir and the Trumpster. Obviously what's going
on at DC watching people freak out about that, which
is incredible because the crime numbers, well, they're down, they
are down. How much are they down? Were they manipulated?
Which has nothing to do with all of this, but

(01:12:44):
it's also part of the story because the story of
the manipulation has been happening long before Trump decided I'm
going to do this, and so the series questions to
ask about that as well. Plus we've got one hit
wonder Wednesday. Among other things that you mentioned the show
shame On. You had the podcast hour number three of
The Chad Benson Show.

Speaker 1 (01:13:02):
Straight at This is the Chad Benson Show, The Chad

(01:13:31):
Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (01:13:33):
It's a big week for the Donald getting ready to
go to Alaska. I've been to Alaska. Seward's Folly, Ver's
just Alaska. It's like, what is he doing? Not bad, right, guys?

Speaker 3 (01:13:47):
Not bad?

Speaker 2 (01:13:50):
Seven million bucks? Come on, ha ha, not bad. Trump's
going there, and the I think the excitement last week
of how big this thing was potentially gonna be and
could we get at least a ceasefire, I think that

(01:14:10):
is tempered big time. And even he's like, oh, let's
just all settle down here.

Speaker 3 (01:14:17):
Trump himself downplaying expectations as well.

Speaker 2 (01:14:21):
I think it'll be good, but it might be bad.
Probably in the first two minutes. I'll know exactly whether
or not a deal can be made.

Speaker 3 (01:14:27):
Trump had wanted a trilateral meeting that included Zelenski, but
Putin rejected that.

Speaker 2 (01:14:35):
There's no reason for putin. He's got all the cards,
he's got everything, he's got a Royal Flush, and you've
got nothing. You're playing Uno at this point, and everybody
recognizes that. And that's why Trump, I think, is thinking,
do I do I? Can I change the game? Can

(01:14:57):
I go from us playing you know, Texas, hold him
to us, you know, making him forcing him to play
Uno with us? Right because or twenty one? Because what's
going on now is he has everything, he knows it,
and he wants more of it. I was even reading
yesterday and heard that They're like, yeah, not only I

(01:15:19):
want this, this and this and oh, by the way,
I want you to demilitarize. That's never gonna happen. That's
why we're in the mess. That's why we're in this mess.
So you go in there with and I'm not a
Debbie Downer, I'm a you know, I'm just being honest
about the situation. This is what's gonna happen, barring some miracle,

(01:15:44):
where is it come to Jesus moment for Pooter And
he's like, I can't believe him this way. I don't
really like people. I feel mad or and I don't
think that's gonna happen, or something of a miss happens.
Nothing's gonna change. He's getting ready now for more.

Speaker 4 (01:16:05):
For this upcoming meeting with Putin.

Speaker 3 (01:16:08):
Even if there is progress, the president suggests any path
to peace will require Ukraine to give up territory, something
President Zelenski has flatly said will not happen without security guarantees.

Speaker 2 (01:16:23):
And on top of the security guarantees, this is something
else that I think people don't realize. He can't just
unilaterally go Okay, I'm gonna give it all away. He's
got to go. He's got his people that he has
to essentially go sell something to. But the guarantees are
an absolute must. I mean, you've got to have guarantees

(01:16:51):
that if we come to a deal and we're a
big part of it, that we stand behind him and say, yeah,
I don't worry man, some go sideways. We got youa
on this, We got youa.

Speaker 3 (01:17:03):
A bold new Russian offensive video circulating online showing an
explosion and plumes of smoke as Russia advances into a
Ukrainian stronghold in the East. This comes as officials confirm
that today Ukrainian President Zelenski and European allies will meet
virtually with President Trump and Vice President Vance.

Speaker 2 (01:17:26):
One hundred plus thousand men. What's Mike Lyons said all
the time that we've talked to him. When it comes
to this, his bet is putin, you'll run out of
bullets or men before we will. And as he said yesterday, Mike,

(01:17:51):
this isn't trench to trench warfare anymore. They're taking three, four,
five miles at a time. So we'll see what this
gets us. I think it's an opportunity. I think the
real thing is Trump's gonna size them up and go, yeah,

(01:18:12):
we can't do anything with this. Yeah, so we're gonna
cut bait, move on. No, that's my sense. My sense
is he looks up, realizes he's not gonna be able
to do anything. He's gonna have a call to everybody saying, look, guys,
the last hail Mary we can do is go after

(01:18:33):
anybody working with them as a third party trading partner.
That's how they've avoided a lot of this. They've got
they can trade enough with China, they can trade enough,
you know, with with Iran and India to more than
sustain themselves. It is starting to show, but they're still

(01:18:56):
on a war footing economy, so it's not crushing them. Now.
If we went after the others and they stopped trading, well,
that would change everything. But China's not going to do that.
They don't care. India is not going to do that
because India likes to cheap energy and they need it.
And for Trump to put pressure on those countries in

(01:19:21):
such a way that it would really force them to stop,
he's going to have to teariff them all kinds of
trade issues, and he's not going to do that because
he doesn't want to see prices fries. So it's this
is more than just hey, Pooter, stop, here's some land.

(01:19:43):
More than just that. Speaking of land, it's interesting. You know,
I got an interesting email yesterday from somebody who used
to listen to Gatos and I uh and listens to
me and and and this is not you know, this

(01:20:05):
is the kind of thing. I enjoy conversations with people.
And he's a he's a great guy. And he says,
you know, if you he starts talking about what's going
on over there from his perspective, right from his perspective,
the reality on the ground is something much different. When

(01:20:26):
it comes to Israel, Palestine. I'll say it over and
over again. I support Israel and the right to exist
and defend themselves. I do not think for a moment
this has anything to do with the Israeli people at
this point in time. I think it is singularly Bbie

(01:20:47):
and his war cabinet and what they want. And you
can call it genocide, you can call it this, you
can call it that. It's ethnic cleansing. I called it
ethnic moving, it's it's it's a lot of things. But
I always tell everybody, look at how we got here,
look at how we arrived at this place where we're
seeing this. I don't want my money going to people

(01:21:14):
that are absolutely hell bent on destroying a people and
moving them and have put their boot on their neck
for a very long time. If you care about friends,
you'll tell them the truth. Here's the truth, Bibi, here's
the truth. Israel. You're losing the pr war, which matters

(01:21:40):
when it comes to money and support. Going into Gaza
is going to be an absolute nightmare. You've killed one
hundred and eighty some reporters. You can't tell me they
were all part of hamas you can see with my
own eyes. You won't allow independent journalists, any journalist and

(01:22:05):
whatsoever outside of somebody handpicked on a tour that you decide.
That sounds very North Korea esque. Every building over there
was blown up by Hamas. I don't buy it. And
this Christian insanity that I see, and I'm not talking
about the average Christian. I'm talking about this dispensationalism and

(01:22:28):
we'll get into that a little bit more tomorrow. Where
there's this push for the rapture and all this kind
of stuff, and we need to do this is also nuts.
Dignity is important. What Hammas did. I'm not sitting here.
This is the other thing. You start talking about this,
people like, well, you support a moss e. You're an
ass hat for thinking that. Number once said, oh that's

(01:22:53):
totally fine. They did good. No, no, no. What they
did on October seventh was awful, vile. It was war crimes.
It was disgusting. Nobody's arguing that the reaction at first

(01:23:14):
was what was needed. Now it's not. And Babe doesn't
care about the hostages. They've got their own eyes on
the prize. They want it all and they're going to
do everything they can to get it, and they're going
to push and they no longer care. And why I

(01:23:36):
say it's important because you tell your friends the truth.
The truth is you're losing America and its support, especially
amongst the younger generation. And when I hear people say, well,
I don't care because I did the younger stupid. Well,
the young are going to run the country and they
don't look at Israel the same way as the boomers do,

(01:24:02):
and they're doing it with our help. I don't want
to be a party of that. Three two, three, five,
three eight, twenty four to twenty three at Chad Benson Show,
Is Your ex Your Insta? Coming up? A lot of
stuff still to get to this hour, including including our
new friend Ashley Brassfield from The Daily Caller. She's going

(01:24:23):

to talk about what's going on there. Trump's surge and
push to try to stamp down crime. Talk to her.

more than two touchdowns. Then I may look over and say, oh,
Aaron Rodgers, I don't think you're gonna throw for two
hundred yards more or less. One's less ones more. You

(01:27:40):
Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't. Some serious questions that
still need to be asked. There National Guard troops arrive
in DC. Newsome, Oh, Newsome said, Texas does what they're
gonna do. California's gonna do what they need to do.

(01:28:03):
And you and I look around and go, is any

run leader two hundred and fifty third home run, passing
the Great Darryl Strawberry. The Great Darryl Strawberry. Now you
know what's trending, the magical world of the internet as
they get thanks ready for the big Summit, the coming
together of megapowers. Zelensky's not going to be there. I'm

(01:29:40):
sure he's not thrilled by what's going on. Trump and
Zelensky are talking every day. Europe's not going to be
there either. Trump says it's going to be a feeling
out process. He knows within the first couple of minutes
whether or not he thinks he can get a deal.
Did with Putin. I'm here to tell you, much like
Mike Lyons did yesterday, I don't think they're going to
get a deal done because there's no reason for the
pooter to do that. Right now, he's got all the cards,

(01:30:03):
and all of those cards are good cards.

Speaker 13 (01:30:05):
What we've heard so far from President Zelenski is warning
again and again that most likely Vladimir Pusen is coming
to this summit with no intention of giving a ceasepy
and instead of trying simply to celebrate having this meeting
with Donald Trump, to try and persuade him once again
that he's interested in peace when he isn't, and then

(01:30:27):
to go back afterwards to continuing this war.

Speaker 2 (01:30:30):
It's not that he's not interested in peace, he just
wants to win, and right now he's winning. He would
love to piece as long. It's the piece that he
decides is the piece he wants. It's like when people say,
are you afraid of flying? No, the reality is people
are afraid of crashing. It's not the flying part. It's
not that he's against peace. He wants it, but he

(01:30:51):
wants it because he wants three two three, twenty four
to twenty three. At Chet Benton shows your extra instat
This is the.

Speaker 1 (01:30:57):
Jet Benson Chump, Chad Benson, Joe, the Chad Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (01:31:23):
Trump bones DC now big time. That was his dream.
That's why he's putting in a giant, huge What is
he going to put in one of those ballrooms that's
where you can hold all the people. Actually Brashfield from
the Daily colle Shoge reporter. I love this. I loved
your report you did the other day. I think it's
with Murel Bowser in this entire insane thing that's going
on in DC. What's your take on it? Because you're

(01:31:47):
there right like you you know you've been there. I mean,
have you been mugged yet?

Speaker 5 (01:31:50):
I have been mugged, But I actually lived in the
area that was talked about in President Film's press conference,
Navy Yard area, and that's where I actually a shot
was fired last night. A lot of these young kids
come into the ear over from the Anacosta side of
DC and caused some trouble. Basically, Jane Piro pointed this out,
and it is a real thing. But personally, have not
been mugged yet, have been in some scary situations they're
on the metro. But the law enforcement presidents has definitely

(01:32:13):
upstay any in a way in the last two days
ever since President Trump had that press conference.

Speaker 2 (01:32:17):
Job I saw, you know, on the TikTok and all
that stuff. It's hard not to wright because it's a
good time. You go on there and people are like, damn,
this is real, right, Like they're rolling up. They're like
they weren't kidding. It's real. You know, the statistics. You
know what was the the great line from uh was
credited to Mark Twain. There are three kinds of lies, Lies,
damn lies, and statistics. Muriel Bowser and all of them.

(01:32:41):
Their statistics. Look, is crime down a little bit? Maybe?
Is it down this kind of level? No, And they're
one of their commanders is suspended because the way they
were writing up stuff. Doesn't report to the FBI and
everywhere else for the crime statistics.

Speaker 6 (01:32:58):
It's insane.

Speaker 5 (01:32:59):
It is insane. This is the police commissioner that was
put on leave in May of this year, so very recent.
You know, they're saying that the crime rate's gone down
and everything, but you even heard Janine Pira. Last year
you had the fourth highest homicide rate in the country.
I think we had some to improve on that, just
my opinion. So it's it's really incredible. I don't understand
how this is not a bipartisan issue. Why wouldn't you

(01:33:21):
want to be safe walking around the city you live in.
That should be something that's just unsaid for Americans and
for the federal government to put people into place to.

Speaker 9 (01:33:29):
Make that happen.

Speaker 2 (01:33:30):
What did they want to ask Muriel Bowser, what do
you think they want to ask her?

Speaker 5 (01:33:35):
You know, I think multiple things. They want to see
legislative options come to the table. You know, back when
Biden was president, he vetoed a bill giving view process
rights back to police officers in the nation's capital, and
of course vetoed that, so you know, there's some progress
that needs to be made. The Oversight Committee specifically has
jurisdiction over the municipal duties of the city except for appropriations,

(01:33:57):
so you know, there's I think there could be a
lot talked about, to be some across the table conversations
to make this happen. Of course, we saw PAMBONDI have
a meeting with Mary yesterday, so I think those are
the meetings that need to happen. I think it's common sense,
and even Mariel bowsermitted, like, you know, I think that,
you know, maybe some higher police presence may be a
good idea.

Speaker 2 (01:34:16):
DC is a whole different world because it is it
was never meant to be a place where people lived.
It was originally meant to be kind of like, look,
this is no state has an advantage. This is kind
of like I always say, it's a strip mall. You're
supposed to come here, do your work, and go home,
and then it became something else. So that gives Trump
a different kind of you know, well, he's got options
that he doesn't have elsewhere unless he really wants to

(01:34:37):
militarize and move stuff in which I'm not really a
fan of, and I think a lot of even Republicans
like I don't want to see military on the streets
just doing regular stuff. But this does give him an option, though,
to go do stuff that that really we can get
a picture it what happens when you surge against crime.

Speaker 5 (01:34:53):
Right, Well, this Home Rights Act has forty days. It
allowed the president to hold control. He already told the
Oversight Committee, and a spokesman from that committee told me
that the president already told them that he would like
to do so for more than forty eight hours, so
those gives them a limited time. I don't think this
is going to be a permanent thing, but I think
it needs to send the message. And Jeanine Perrel also
said this. The message is that the same you know
type of leniency is not going to continue forward. Congress

(01:35:15):
is going to start doing things to you know, enact
laws that will prevent juveniles from becomitting so many crimes,
repeat offenders. And the city councils specifically whose chairman is
coming in, as well as the district ag. I think
there's conversations that need to be had across the table
with that, but with all parties on that end. So
you know, this is something that President Trump went on.

(01:35:36):
I was on the campaign trail and cover this. I
talked to voters, specifically a lot of Trump voters, and
you know, the border, crime in the country and the
economy were really the two main, three main issues that
I heard just repeatedly across the country.

Speaker 2 (01:35:50):
Talking to Ashley Brasfield, who is with the Daily College,
she reported there, let's to homeless issue is also an issue,
because he said something very poignant the other day. And
I give Trump a lot of crap at times. Sometimes
it's just like look at me and it makes me
laugh and I'm just like, oh, but he said, you know,
his dad taught him something. And if you go to
a door of a restaurant and the door is dirty,

(01:36:10):
what's the kitchen life? You turn around and leave. It's
the same thing this. When they built the Capitol it
was to say, we're not decadent. This is this is modest,
but it's impressive, and this is the people's house. It
should be cleaned. You don't want a litter box at
your dinner table, and in certain areas it's become that exactly.

Speaker 5 (01:36:30):
Well, I think as the nation's capital, it should set
the standard for other cities. You know, people are saying
that Trump wants to go into these other democratic cities
and clean it up. Well, why don't the people in
those democratic cities want to clean it up. It's you know,
the standard is extremely low right now. So I think
having the capital, you know, as a standard, of course,
the president has more control there. But I just don't
understand how that's not a topic of conversation. We saw

(01:36:51):
Gavin Newsom, for instance, in California when the Chinese president
came over Jijiping clean out the entire homelessness and of
course let it happen right as he left. So you know,
this is a you know, double standard in my opinion,
a little bit.

Speaker 22 (01:37:03):
Of course.

Speaker 5 (01:37:04):
I think there's many reasons for people being homeless, and
there's a lot of homeless veterans in the nation, but
I think that this can be done in a way
over a period of time to stop the systemic issue
in the city, which is homelessness in many of these
democratic cities. But it's a topic of conversation that's long
needed to be had in my opinion.

Speaker 2 (01:37:22):
Yeah, well, you know, Reagan got rid of you know,
he closed all the for lack of better term, looney
bins and they let everybody out. And they was supposed
to be one of these things where they were going
to set up kind of a mental health area and
you're going to be able to go there and get
yourself well, and that never happened. And now you know,
living on the street doing heroin and fentanyl and talking

(01:37:43):
to a wall and then urinating on the ground is
not a lifestyle choice. That's a mental illness. And we
need to face the fact these people aren't homeless because
they missed a paycheck. They're homeless because either they turned
to drugs because they were mentally ill, or drugs turned
their brain so bad their mental We're not talking about
a single mom as running from abusive guy who's living

(01:38:03):
in his car trying to get himself back on the feet.
We're talking about people that are chronically homeless and handing
them keys to an apartment and going to fix it.

Speaker 5 (01:38:11):
Well, the system enables us completely. They make more money
being homeless than they do going to get a job
at McDonald's, many of them that are capable of doing so.
And you know, I've had many circumstances, especially on the Metro,
where you know, these homeless people either sleep on the
metro Metro police have to take care of that, or
there you know, there's a medical incident in the crime
because of an overdose. And you know, children, families that
want to come visit the capital, they shouldn't have to endure.

(01:38:32):
You know, a man in the war, like Pampondi said,
having an overdose right in front of a bunch of restaurants.
That's just not the standard that should be acceptable within
the United States in my opinion.

Speaker 2 (01:38:41):
You know, I think paint the picture for people. So
my show's on all over the country, and you know,
when I talk about this, I'm from LA. My mom's like,
I won't go to La anymore. It's just so disgusting.
I don't like to leave her. She lives in Orange County,
and I don't like to leave my little sphere. On
my shows on in Portland.

Speaker 19 (01:38:58):
It is.

Speaker 2 (01:38:59):
They'll tell you every day about you know, I'll get
a story saying, hey, guess what I saw today? Two
people having sex on the side of the you know,
off ramp. My buddy's a FedEx driver there. He'll say
that this is a chronic issue, and people think of
Portland in Los Angeles and San Francisco, but what's it
like there with the homeless.

Speaker 5 (01:39:20):
It's terrible.

Speaker 19 (01:39:20):
You know.

Speaker 5 (01:39:20):
There's daily conversations within my office saying, oh, I saw
this guy you know, to pull his pantstone start urinating
on the side of the street, and extremely uncleanly. Obviously,
multiple incidents of you know, my female colleagues getting stocked,
followed where coworkers have had to go out and you know,
assist them basically, and even one of my coworker's husbands
was assaulted on the street. I mean, you see it

(01:39:41):
all over X if you're you know, just you know,
type in a keyword search that's going on with the DC,
and there's people that are just giving examples of the
amount of people they know that have been carjacked at gunpoint.
It's a massive problem. It's like any other democratic run city,
and just a lot of people, especially liberals in DC.
They're lifelongers. You can't really trust what they're saying. They
and in my opinion, they need to go touch grass,

(01:40:01):
go out into Middle America see what the reality is
that that's not a problem in a lot of places.
And it's quite startling from somebody that I'm from the
South and you know, I personally grew up in the
suburbs of Atlanta or that just wasn't an issue. So
moving to a big city, it was something I kind
of had to accept that was going to happen. And
that's really unfortunate in my opinion.

Speaker 2 (01:40:19):
Awesome, awesome, love talking to you. Hopefully you do it
again soon. Ashley Brassfield, Daily Caller, you'd be safe out
there in DC if the insanity and chaos it is
because you know what, there's a lot of loonies out there.

Speaker 7 (01:40:30):
Yes they're thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:41:49):
One of the segments I get asked about more than
almost any other segment for all the stuff we talk about,
the controversial we dive into that, the hilarity we dive
into that talked about Rush Week for Alabama and Sororities
Last Hour. But when I go places, people always have

(01:42:10):
a suggestion for me for this segment. This segment's called
One Hit Wonder Wednesday. That's where we dive into a
song from an artist from a band that at that
moment in time they found something and then they never
found it again. It was gone. And this song is

(01:42:34):
actually from this century. Oh yeah, it was a song
that the minute you hear it, you know exactly what
it is from the first note. We call this kids,
One Hit Wonder Wednesday. Are you guys ready? Now it's
time for another edition of One Hit Wonder Wednesday. You

(01:43:04):
may not remember the name of the band, but you
definitely know the song. This Bruiser, This is one Hit
Wonder Wednesday. So One Hit Wonder Wednesday. Oddly enough, last

(01:43:30):
week Tarzana Boy Baltimorrow was in the opening this week also,
one Hit Wonder that's in the opening of this segment
comes from the Year of the Lord two thousand by
a band there was formed in nineteen ninety five by
Brett Epic Mouser and Seth Shifty shell Shock Binzer. They

(01:43:57):
caught the wave of that rap rock, new metal, you know, Limbiscuit,
Lincoln Park kid rock, and they took it and they
ran with it. They had one hit came off their
debut album called The Gift of the Game. It was
released in the year two thousand October, and it went

(01:44:19):
from zero to one hundred fast number one across fifteen
countries chart domination. To say the least, it was crazy.
In fact, the music video super psychedelic pretty girls, you know,
dudes with their shirts off, all tatted up, very much

(01:44:39):
a as they say in early vibes in the MTV world.
And it was interestingly enough though, because they were much harder,
they didn't play it on stage a lot. So they
got this massive audience because of this. But then we
come to the shows and they didn't want to really
play this song and this song, well, it's massive and

(01:45:03):
it only takes two seconds once you hear it and
you realize, oh, I know what it is. Ladies and gentlemen,
boys and girls, friends of all ages. The one hit
Wonder Wednesday song of the Week from the band crazy
Town You're My Butterfly, sugar Baby, Come Malay Day.

Speaker 6 (01:45:35):
Come, Come Malay Day.

Speaker 2 (01:45:37):
You're My Butterflies.

Speaker 16 (01:45:39):
Come Monday Day, Come Come Malay Day.

Speaker 5 (01:45:41):
You're my butterfly.

Speaker 16 (01:45:43):
Comes a sexy, sexy, pretty little thing, say book, she
got me sprung?

Speaker 2 (01:45:47):
Would your drug ring?

Speaker 16 (01:45:48):
And I ain't gonna eye because you're nothing gets me
eyes that it can give my my didge.

Speaker 6 (01:45:52):
There's nothing that I won't try. Butterflies in her eyes and.

Speaker 1 (01:45:55):
It looks to kill time is passing a mask?

Speaker 2 (01:45:57):
And could this be real? Because I can't sleep, I
can't hold Steve.

Speaker 6 (01:46:00):
The only thing I really know what she got sex epdeo.
I can feel too much is never enough.

Speaker 18 (01:46:05):
The song was.

Speaker 2 (01:46:06):
Massive, the album was huge. They never even came close
to recapturing the magic ever again. Shifty shell Shock wrote
the song about his girlfriend at the time.

Speaker 6 (01:46:22):
So I wrote the song basically, and I remember I
called it epic.

Speaker 14 (01:46:25):
I was like, yo, epic, I'm going to do a
song about my girl.

Speaker 6 (01:46:28):
And he's like, are you kidding me? I was like, no, Da,
We're gonna do that. Basically.

Speaker 14 (01:46:33):
You know, we had this little thing where I would
like give her butterflies all the time. So I remember
I was laying I was like, I'm thinking of what
I was going to name the song, and I was
like Butterfly and you know it, it was a very
natural thing. That that's why like the magic happened is
it was just like I wasn't trying to write a hit.

Speaker 6 (01:46:55):
I just wrote. It was like a little piece of poetry.
I wrote to my.

Speaker 2 (01:46:58):
Girl, come my butterfly, Sugar. One of the things you
hear that guitar kind of that is actually something from
the Peppers of the Red Hotness.

Speaker 6 (01:47:12):
It needs to sound like under the Bridge, and so
Brett Who's like, you know, that's the other thing.

Speaker 14 (01:47:17):
As I hear mothers like, oh they have a hit
and they sampled the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Speaker 6 (01:47:22):
And it's like, that's what hip hop is.

Speaker 9 (01:47:27):
Now.

Speaker 14 (01:47:28):
There's a creative sample and there's a sample that's kind
of like sounds totally if we get sampled under the Bridge,
it's like, bro, you took a hit song to make
your hit song, which people do.

Speaker 2 (01:47:39):
All did.

Speaker 14 (01:47:41):
What we did is we listened to the album and
we found some obscure little thing called pretty Little Ditty
which you don't know the Red Chili Peppers or listen
to like Mother's Smoke.

Speaker 6 (01:47:50):
You would have never heard it.

Speaker 2 (01:47:52):
No, you wouldn't have. And it's really interesting when you
hear what they did, because pretty little Ditty is really
a nothing, and of course you go from that is

(01:48:19):
the Peppers version right there, and they took it. They
sped it up a little bit, put litter on, twist
on it, but a massive hit. It was all over
the globe. Your one hit Wonder this week the band
